Daniel has made all the preparations. He cannot mess up, not when everything is at stake. With a hand held-out, and a smile being offered, the boy asks a very important question "Will you dance with me?"
The chapter will have a break to let you know which song is attached to each segment.

I chose these songs because I felt they resonated with what I wanted to project. I hope you enjoy this chapter, it's a long one :)
A\N: This is a very long chapter, but I couldn't cut anything.
Daniel shifted through the crowds of other teens, catching mere fractions of an entire conversation going on around him. No one was aware of what he had planned. Eifion kept to his word, possibly with the teachers as well.
He was going to do this with a crowd, holding Killua's hand, with nothing but the music to guide their rhythm. He has been wanting to do this for a while, to show Killua how much he means to him without restraints.
With a hand held-out, and a smile being offered, the boy asks a very important question "Will you dance with me?"
That's how the question goes off in his head, but, in reality… he'd probably suck in a breath, words lost on his tongue once he's ready to pop the one question Killua might say no to.
He needs Killua on board with this, so he can't show signs of weakness… not now. At least with Eifion being the only one to know about this, he can control the damage. Daniel found Eifion off to the side, his arms crossed as his eyes following the mass of students dancing on the floor.
When his eyes caught Daniel's, the man smiled.
Daniel closed the distance, walking up to the man ready to ask the question.
But Eifion was already ahead of the boy "You ready now?"
"No, I still need to ask Kyle to be on-board with it. But are things ready on your end?"
"Yes…" The man held a buzzer out to the boy, "press this buzzer when you're ready. It'll vibrate on my end and I'll do the announcement. Then, I'll give you the floor…"
"I'll press it when everything is ready on my end? The Camera?"
Eifion handed the camera bag over to the boy, "It has been completely charged, and there's a spare battery in the bag. You can return it by the end of the week, once you've copied the contents over. It'll take up to two hours of video footage, so try not to record too much with it if you want to capture the moment…"
"Thank you so much for doing this for us."
"The pleasure is all mine. Your father is like a father to me. Even though he processes everything differently to us, he'll appreciate this gift. I'll record on my end as well, with the intent to hand it over to your father. So, don't make a fool of yourself out there?"
"The tag…?"
"Oh, right…" Eifion fished through his pocket, pulling out the small badge with VIP attached to it, "pin it to your vest, keep it hidden behind your jacket. Teachers will question it before you can do anything."
Daniel pinned it to his vest with a smile, "I promise I won't abuse this power."
"I trust you…" The man offered a smile, happy to help one of his students achieve a goal of theirs. Vastorie was his mentor… a father figure to him, even after what the man has taken away from him… he keeps giving back, rarely asking for anything back.
This time, he'll be giving the man's son a chance, betting on him for a memory he'll never forget "I have complete faith in your skills."
"~"
Daniel rounded a group of students, wanting to avoid the mass of students collecting around the 'dance floor'. However, as he turned a corner, he heard his name being called.
"Daniel…?"
The boy looked around, surprised to see not only Clarisa but Madelyn here too. Her dark, cold, brooding eyes were on him. She looked as though she was completely lost in his gaze. Not in romantic kind of way, as if searching for something…
"Hi, Clarisa!" He hugged the girl as she hugged him back. Even when the girl smiled, made small talk with him, Madelyn's eyes never left him.
What was that girl expecting to find on him?
Clarisa then turned to her roommate, pinching the girl's cheek lightly "This moody little girl is Madelyn."
Madelyn pushed her roommate's hand away, fuming from the description. But as soon as her eyes were back on the boy standing before her, she pursed her lips. Why do you look so familiar…?
"Hi, you must be Madelyn? Pleased to meet you…" He held a hand, offering to shake hers.
She looked down at the hand, then back up "You look familiar… have we met before?"
"No, can't say I have… just started school recently. Maybe it when I was talking to Kiel in the garden? You saw me back then, at least for a glimpse."
She quirked an eyebrow, in confusion. No, that didn't sound right… Yeah, I saw him back then for a split second… but that doesn't sit right with me. Who, exactly is this boy…? It felt as though she has met this boy before.
He carries a vibe that made her feel at peace, like, he's somehow looking after her…
Clarisa nudged her housemate in the side, only to receive a pout in response from her action.
Madelyn has done nothing wrong, she just can't shake this feeling away "No, before today… A long-" frowning once more, closing her mouth tightly. Daniel probably won't say anything, even if she tries to push it. Even though she didn't want to, she decided to drop it. Until she remembers for herself, this boy won't say anything to her.
If he is hiding anything, it's probably for a reason…
Worst-case scenario… she's mixed some faces and people up "forget it." She shook the boy's hand anyway, "Madelyn."
Daniel expected the girl to state her full name, instead, she repeated it, this time making it clear this was all he was going to get from her, "Madelyn, just Madelyn…"
"Daniel Aleksandr, the pleasure is mine. Where's Kiel?"
"This party is for teens. That's why you see a couple of Seventeen-year-olds. Kiel should be with Alluka at more fun event. They have games, rides… nothing as extensive, like what we had for Halloween, but it's still fun for them."
Oops… Killua and I brought her to the less fun event. Well, to be fair, I do have a special job for Alluka… which, I know she'd enjoy. It's sure to bring a smile to Alluka's face, as long as I can get her brother on board with it… "Oh, Audrey is with us…"
"Oh… Kiel is going to be alone then. I'll let him know Audrey is here, instead of over there. He was going to introduce her to a couple of his friends. Shame…"
Ooh… "I'll let her know for next time, so I can get her to tag along with Kiel and his friends."
She offered a nod, smiling at the situation. Even though Kyle's sister didn't get to meet her brother's friends this time, next time Daniel was sure to get Audrey on board with the idea "That's good."
Madelyn's eyes shifted to Clarisa, uninterested with the current topic. She wants to go back, not stand out here and be bored. She didn't want to socialise, not ever "I did what you asked. I've socialised as you put it, for a hot-minutes… now can I go back?"
Clarisa's eyes widened in shock. She was expecting more from her housemate, expecting her to at least try to strike up a conversation with Daniel. Sure, she had hogged the boy during the whole conversation about Kiel, but now was her time to interject… to continue the conversation for a bit longer "B-"
Daniel held out a hand to stop Clarisa, "No, it's fine… You shouldn't try to stop her if she wants to." Like, he said to her a few months ago, Clarisa should let Madelyn open-up on her own. She shouldn't be forcing her to do so "But… if you leave now," The boy offered the girls a cheeky smile "you're going to miss out the surprise?"
The two looked at each other confused, "What surprise?"
Daniel shook his head as he continued to smile cheekily, "Oh, you'll just have to wait and see." Before he said anymore, he was running off towards Killua, the bag jiggling along his side. Now I really, messed up… What if Killua says no? NO…! I can't think like that… I'm going to make tonight a night to remember… I'm going to woo Killua, even if I must bribe him with chocolates!
"~"
Killua was confused when he found Daniel holding out a camera to Alluka, explaining how to use it? What was he planning to record? Then he caught the boy smiling in his direction "Whatever you're planning, no!"
"Aww… but I haven't even told you what I wanted to do."
"I see the mischievousness in your eyes."
"Now you're just projecting!" Killua pouted at his accusation. His partner was usually the one who was as mischievous as a cat. However, Killua's reaction wasn't going to stop him from continuing to state a snippet of his plan "Look, all I want is to dance with you?"
"Dance… or Dance? I've seen how you dance… I… Don't feel like I can keep up with you."
"Nonsense. You're faster than me…"
"Daniel…"
"I promise!" The boy slapped his hands together, rubbing his hands together as he pleaded for the boy to go along with his request "I want to make this night special for you. Something to remember…"
"Now I'm really worried."
"Kyle…"
"Daniel~" Killua whined in a teasing manner, not wanting to participate in this disaster called a dance. He likes Daniel, but he knows how good the boy is… the boy has been dancing for years, with hips built for swaying, not navigating tight spots; the floor was packed with other students. Where on earth, are they going to find space here?
"Please…"
Killua almost broke from the puppy dog eyes, "There's no space for us."
"I'll make space for us."
"By what, smacking your hips into others? You gonna swing those monsters around until we have space for ourselves…?" He offered his partner a cheeky smile.
As Daniel laughed at the joke, Killua's smile softened. Fuck, I can feel myself slowly losing to Daniel's charms. But seriously, he should be the one on the dance floor, owning it out there without me. I feel like it'd be more fun to watch that transpire… "I'm being serious. You'll dominate it on the dance floor without me… I'd slow you down."
Daniel shook his head. Even if he could, he just couldn't go out there without Killua. What he has planned, is to not only make his partner happy but to leave him and Alluka a memory they won't forget.
One they'd hopefully cherish for a long time…
Daniel held Killua's hand "I promise… that this will be a night to remember. I can't swing my monstrous hips, without you."
Killua blushed. Without me… huh? Killua pulled his hands away to instead rest a finger against the boy's forehead. He wanted to know this wasn't just some ploy, to push him to dance like they had when Daniel had no memory of him. He doesn't want to go through that again.
He wanted to see the real deal, the unaltered version of his boyfriend. The one that kisses him at night rock this field with him. Even though he originally said to Daniel: I… Don't feel like I can keep up with you. He wanted to be able to hold hands with that version of Daniel.
But they have an image to keep up. Holding each other lovingly, breaks that image "And if it isn't?"
Daniel frowned; he was hoping he wouldn't have to turn for this "I'll make another chocolate cake…"
Killua's lit up with excitement. He could milk Daniel dry with this kind of deal. With a cheeky smile, the boy made a gesture with his hand. He wanted his partner to sweeten the deal.
Daniel sighed, "All for yourself, and two brownies at a later date… one, with the kind that has molten chocolate inside."
"O~ you had me at molten chocolate." Killua was practically drooling at the idea. Molten Chocolate… sounds like a dream. Sure, he made a deal with Daniel to make a chocolate fountain cake, but this would be considered its predecessor.
Killua tried to pretend that he was in it for only the cake and brownies. But if he was being honest, the fact Daniel was going this far to rope him in, meant it was bigger than he originally thought.
Daniel had man cards up his sleeve, and Killua was willing to find out what they were "Fine… but one song only!"
"No, it has to be three!"
"Why three?" Killua whined. Why did it have to be three? Why couldn't it be just one?
"Because… I need three to impress you."
Killua relented. Well, at least he gets a chocolate cake and two fudge brownies for himself. But he won't go down without sweetening the pot further. If Daniel is going all-in, he's going all-in as well "All of them will have molten chocolate and caramel swirls."
"Deal!"
"Deal!"
The two boys shook on it, Daniel smiling widely at the outcome. He'll get his wish, to woo Killua. Too bad it took Chocolate to achieve said goal. He wanted Killua to agree on his own, to want to do it without him being needed to be bribed.
Daniel took Killua's hand within his own, fingers almost interlocking with his partner. It was too soon to do so, but damn it… he so badly wanted to slip his fingers between his boyfriend's…
The boy turned slightly, giving Alluka a quick wink before disappearing into the crowd. While Killua was distracted, he told Alluka his plan for the night. She will get to record the whole scene as it transpired, from the moment her brother smiles to the final step in their dance.
Even though she won't get to spend time with Kiel and his friends tonight, hopefully, this makes up for it.
Although, he was surprised she didn't squeak with joy after hearing his plan. Then again, she was smiling from ear-to-ear. She was now as excited as he was. He just hopes that Alluka will enjoy the night as much as he does.
Daniel snuck a hand into his pocket without Killua noticing, pressing the buzzer to alert Eifion that the plan is a go.
"~"
When Eifion felt the buzzer go off in his pocket. He shifted his posture, getting up onto the stage to announce the sudden change of plans. Tapping the microphone, the music dimmed down as people stopped dancing, getting ready to listen to him.
"I would like to thank everyone for coming today. First, I would like to apologize for the members of the faculty for asking you to come and help supervise for tonight's event. I know some of you have a family you'd rather spend the night with, instead of listening to music that the youngsters would call hip-to-the-hop…"
He earned a few chuckles, but that wasn't his main goal for the moment. He wanted to introduce the special event "I hope you've had a lovely Christmas so far, not with just the teachers, but the students as well. We try to do this, every year with the help of fellow teachers, giving the students of their respective age group fun things to do, a place to celebrate. But now, I can't forget that we also give gifts at this time of year, for the students… and teachers. But I may have been a little… shall we say… sneaky."
The room was silent, just like he planned "I've snuck in an extra present for some of the students, but this one is mainly for the teachers in the room. I've kept this secret from everyone who's attended here, including the teachers…"
The man paced along the stage, his expression brightening as the seconds go by "I was approached by a student, who not only wants to make a surprise appearance…"
Killua looked at Daniel, hoping his partner wasn't the student Eifion was talking about. If it is, he's in for a lot more than he's bargained for. But his partner's expression was unreadable, to busy focusing on the Deacon speaking.
"He wants to give someone special to him, a gift. Now, some of you students have seen him walking around, or been a part of his class. The teachers who are here, will probably not recognise him at first. That's ok… once I say his name, you'll recognise him."
The man continued to listen to the students' murmur. He needed to give his fellow teachers a moment to processes the situation.
As Daniel simply smiled at his partner, Killua frowned. It was worse than he originally thought. This wasn't just… three songs. It was a whole choreographed dance "What did you do?"
"Like the man said… I want to give you a special gift… I told you, I was going to make this a night to remember." Daniel was beaming that Killua hadn't pushed away, yet… As much as Killua will want to argue, he must secretly want this as well.
"With three songs, which I approved of… they'll be dancing, together, for everyone here…" The crowd muttered to each other, some of the teachers now becoming worried about the change of plans.
"I'm not dancing in front of everyone…" The boy spoke in a hushed tone, hoping not to arouse anyone standing nearby. This was a nightmare. He'll dance with Daniel, but in front of this kind of crowd… he doesn't know if he could do it.
"Please… I need you to be by my side for this. I wanted to do this for you… as a thank you gift, for everything you've done for me up-to this exact date. But this isn't everything… I have a second reveal, just for you… if you stick by my side during this situation."
Killua wanted to object, but he bit his lip instead. Daniel has another gift…
The brownies or the cake won't be the only thing he's getting tonight. It's something else… something he really, wants to know what it is, before he objects to the whole thing. But he knew… Daniel won't say anything about it.
Eifion held out an open hand to the people still on the dance floor "May I get everyone to clear the floor, except for the two who should know who they are… Stand on the red lines as I make the final announcement." Eifion held out his hand to the DJ, offering a nod to let the man know he should line up the songs.
Killua felt his cheeks burning, the anticipation was killing him. It was just him and Daniel in the middle now, just the two of them with what felt like thousands of eyes on them.
He'd have to dance with Daniel, in front of a crowd of more than a hundred people… with no prior warnings. He wants to make his partner happy… to give the boy what he wants… but not in front of so many people.
He couldn't do it…
As if reading his thoughts, Daniel's gaze met his partner's, their fingers interlocking. The boy spoke calmly, eyes only on Killua "Ignore everyone. Just pretend it's just you, me… and the music."
The DJ gave Eifion the nod, the man turned to the parted crowd. Daniel and Killua were the only ones in the middle now, alone in silence, "Give it up for Kyle Cilka and Daniel Darkscryer!"
Madelyn lit up at the name. She pushed away Clarisa, shoving away people as she pushed her way through the crowd to the front of the line. There was the boy she had talked to moments ago, the one she thought she recognised. It made sense now… the boy had the same surname as that man… the one who saved her all those years ago.
The answer had been staring her in the face all this time. She couldn't believe she had forgotten the man's features until now.
She can get some answers from Daniel Darkscryer, she just had to wait until the music stopped.
~ Can I keep you by Efisio Cross ~The music started with a single beat, a piano key; the tone lingered for a few seconds. Daniel guided Killua along the first of many steps to come; a single step forward. His movement was slow, aiming to match their movements with the music as much as possible.
As Daniel had made his first step, Killua made his, trying to match Daniel's pace like a mimicking shadow, a single step back.
When the second key kicked in, Daniel repeated the same step, like last time. The next two to come were similar, just a fraction fit faster. On the fifth step, it came like string being pluck, two piano keys being pressed one after another. The reverb helped Daniel guide the two of them, sliding them forty-five degrees off their original path.
He wanted to try to drive the two of them to dance in a circle, controlling where they could move. There were another three steps to follow, each movement similar to the first four steps.
"Now it begins…" Daniel flashed his partner a smile as the tune started, Killua's eyes widening from the prospect that Daniel didn't pick a slow song to dance to… it kicks up in speed, with a few moments hidden within the song where they get to slow down.
It still had that constant beat like the first, always lingering in the background every few seconds. But this time, it had another beat playing at the same time. It was building up, a pitter-patter of keys that acted like raindrops hitting a pond.
During those moments of 'pitter-patter', Daniel shifted their speed, matching their steps to the beat, bouncing from one-step onto the next, almost like hopping bunnies. On the odd single lingering piano keys, the boy implemented a half-slow spin, getting them moving along a spiral pathway.
There was a hidden meaning within this dance Daniel knew about; but, he was wondering how long it'll take Killua to pick up on it.
While how he was spinning his partner was considered a circular movement, how he mapped out their entire choreography, was spiral, where the edge was where they started, and where they finish… will be in the 'middle' of the said spiral.
As it builds up to the climax, the hidden meaning will dictate they're spiralling in into the moment they'll get lost within each other.
As Daniel's eyes lingered on his boyfriend, he focused on where they were and what move came next.
For Killua, this was all new, for him. For Daniel, the boy had already mapped out the entire choreography in his mind, each of their steps. He had done this countless times in the past when he was being taught, forced to move his partner along a makeshift path, whether they had experience in dancing or not.
It was considered like faux leading, the leader who was moving their partner had to be an experienced dancer, whether or not, the other could dance.
Each segment lasted roughly fifteen-second before the tune changed, whether that be a new tune being added or removed.
As the second segment was introduced, a new tune was added amongst the main tune; it sounded like what the boy imagined would imagine being 'twinkling stars in the night sky'.
During these moments, he kept the same pattern, but added a little twist, the first two 'twinkling stars' made Daniel add distance between himself and Killua, the boy's arms stretched out, creating a more of an arch kind of spin.
On the second pair, he brought Killua back in, no longer an arch spin, but a controlled circular pattern like he had been doing before the 'twinkling stars' kicked in.
Madelyn wondered about Vastorie; why did the man decide to keep his son hidden all these years? What possessed him to never reveal anything about his life. If she was being honest, she never even knew Nathaniel and Vastorie were together, until the former kissed the latter on the cheek.
And now, she was finding out about Daniel, a boy who looks familiar to Vastorie, was here… before her eyes… dancing with his partner, Kyle Cilka.
Not only that, her housemate Clarisa had been arguing non-stop, since finding out Kyle and Daniel had to be pretending they don't know each other, that the whole situation had to be bullshit…
The two never once looked at each other like they didn't know one another.
They were moving as one like they've known each other for years…
Watching the two of them dance, left the two girls in awe.
Clarisa wanted to argue that the whole scene was ethereal, but from the corner of her eyes, it's the first time she has ever seen Madelyn smiling… however, at the same time, if she were to point that out, she feared her housemate would stop smiling.
At the third segment, the music slowed back down, like how the song was originally running on the second segment. Daniel was forced to change the move set, matching their steps to the beat. He didn't want their dance to go stale. So rather than making Killua spin, they moved as a similar speed when he was originally spinning Killua…
The two of them twisting together, moving as one; a slow half-spin, followed by a sped-up complete spin.
When the fourth segment started, that was Daniel's moment to really, shine. Once that beat kicked in, the upward carry, like a boat on a mystical ocean, the stars twinkling in the sky, being reflected off the bright blue water, he acted like that boat traversing the water…
He flicked his wrist, spinning Killua outward until the two were in a single line, then he let go of Killua momentarily, shucking off his jacket in a single fluid moment, it was discarded, lost somewhere on the floor where Daniel would continue to ignore it for the remainder of their waltz.
Without the jacket, he could move easier now. But now that his tag was showing, the VIP printed clearly on the tag he flashed Killua a grin. The teachers will understand what this badge signified… That while he moved… he could stretch and weave his aura without restraint.
Killua however, pouted at his partner's action.
Here Daniel had a VIP tag, and he didn't get one. The moment Daniel revealed his tag, he felt the change in demeanour. He could sense aura emanating from his partner, just not how the boy was weaving it.
However, he didn't get much time to think about it, not when Daniel's fingers lingered along with the hand he just let go.
Like a pair of perfect, neighbouring jigsaw pieces, their fingers intertwined, slotting together as one. Daniel twirled himself into Killua's chest, looking up at his partner with loving eyes.
She shifted from that spot quickly, not wanting to draw Eifion's attention too much to his current expression. He performed another twirl, letting his other hand slot between the other's, drawing the two of them back until they were at arm's length.
Then, and only then did he move like how he wanted, their steps moving faster, the two of them seemly gliding across the makeshift dancefloor.
The fifth segment came, and like the 'pitter-patter' part early, he didn't make Killua move as he did. The boy moved his steps moved in rapid successions, like an annoying bee buzzing around your head. Killua was still moving, but for every one of his steps, Daniel had made three.
As the sixth segment came, the build-up of the tune made Daniel remove his fast steps, only to introduce full spins without the need of the half ones. He wanted to match the build-up of the music. The half spins would only seem out of place during this segment.
As the seventh part was introduced, Daniel kept the spins, but this time, he re-added his fast steps from the fifth segment, moving more elegantly than last time… the music was building up to what he considered was a moment to relax.
During the next segment, they can take their next few steps slower.
When the rhythmic tune of the 'pitter-patter' dimmed, so did the eighth segment start. That single slow piano beat could be heard more clearly now, giving Daniel the perfect moment to time his steps. But he used the 'twinkling stars in the night sky' to guide their spins, arms dipping at random angles, shifting ever so slightly, on every circle.
The 'pitter-patter' came back as the ninth segment started. He let go of one of Killua's hand as he timed his steps to match the faster segment. But for the slow single beat still running in the background, he guided Killua, spinning the boy once per beat.
When the music built up once more, the tenth segment had started. Daniel pulled Killua back into his arms as the music shifted. By now, he was sure Killua was sick of having his move set chopped and changed at every segment.
He was only doing this to keep their moves fresh, to match at least the rhythm of the tunes.
There were no extravagant moves in this segment, just their feet gliding across the wooden floorboards, a single spin every two beats. Once the music moved onto the eleventh segment, it was clear they'll keep the momentum going.
But rather than every two beats, it was now every beat there was a spin, their hips seemly swaying in tune to the main build-up. Daniel stuck to this move set for the remainder of the build-up, the two moving along the floor as if they were skating on ice.
When the music dimmed, only the single beat being heard along with the twinkling tune, Daniel slowed down their pace, a step being made per slow beat. They moved in a single direction, for every one of Daniel's steps, Killua made his own.
On the double pluck tune, the boy introduced a single spin, the speed is not only random but wherever the boys stopped, the next step they take, would be along a straight path.
With Daniel always moving forward, Killua mirror his partner's action, taking a step backwards.
As that final note came, Daniel let go of Killua's hand. During the silence, the boy took a single step backwards, arms stretched out as his back curved to give a bow for his partner. He offered a smile as his eyes met Killua's.
His boyfriend was left stunned during the act.
Killua had no idea how to react, other than to stare at his partner. If it weren't for the single clap in the background followed by others joining in or the cheering, he'd still be staring at his boyfriend.
The sound knocked him back to reality, reminding him that the two of them put on a show for a large mass of other students… one they might share a class with one day.
Daniel stood straight, looking directly at Killua. The next song choice had no choreography. He didn't plan for this particular song, because it was designed for the two of them to bounce off each other.
He did this on purpose because he wants Killua to sort of carry them, at least for the start of the song. However, he first needed to let the boy know in advanced. He spoke loud enough for only Killua to hear over the crowd of people still clapping "before the next song starts, I want you to know you'll be the leader. We'll be dancing as though we're playing Simon says."
"Are you serious… no warnings whatsoever. What if I-"
"This is about going with the flow. You make a move; I repeat then add another… we'll keep the momentum going. I don't mind if it doesn't match the music, it's about challenging each other. If I do a move you can't repeat, don't fret. The same applies to me… we're challenging each other while impressing the crowd."
"What happened to, ignoring everyone but you?" As Killua smirked, he crossed his arms at his question. Daniel said that it'll only be the two of them dancing… just the two of them…
"Embrace the Unknown… Kyle." Daniel hit the buzzer, letting Eifion know to start the next song.
Eifion turned to the DJ, giving him the nod to start the song.
As the next song started, the students quietened.
~ Embracing the Unknown by Brian Delgado ~Daniel took another step back, gesturing to Killua that he had the floor.
Killua took a moment to close his eyes, listening to the soft hum as he stilled his breath. He has done worse… he has been put through hell and back; tortured, memories removed, manipulated to do his family's bidding…
Dancing for a crowd of strangers should be a cakewalk in comparison…
No matter how much they mess up, the mistakes they'll make here… they'll still put on a show. Not only that, Daniel was sure to make up for it in the next song. Opening his eyes, he turned to his partner with a wide grin. Fine, you want a challenge… I make you work for it!
When heard the first string being plucked. The boy took off his jacket, throwing it aside along with his glasses. Sure, he was about to prove he has been lying about needing to wear glasses, but he could see it in Daniel's eyes.
This was a challenge… that was going to result in him losing those glasses one way or another. He might as well take them off himself.
As the glasses landed softly in the crumpled-up jacket, Daniel chuckled at his boyfriend's action. He promised he was going to let his partner do whatever he wanted.
Although, in this instance, he couldn't follow Killua's action, unless that was Killua's way of trying to get him to go shirtless.
Killua made his first move, his fingers resting against his chest, sliding up the article of clothing before sliding between strands of his hair. He flicked them back, strands bouncing everywhere.
With a snap of his wrist, he pointed at Daniel; it was the boy's turn. Something simple, to see if his partner would pull the same alluring gesture as he did… or would Daniel mellow it out?
Daniel did the same, only his hair didn't bounce, it fell back down, barely moving an inch from its original position. But true to his word, he added a step; a double-tap, followed by his arms stretched out.
Killua followed along, adding a front flip followed by a backwards slide.
His partner followed the movement, a smile slipping as he added another move.
The two continued to bounce off each other, their actions getting progressively more difficult than the last.
That was until the drums kicked in. With Daniel upping the stakes, he gestured for Killua to hold up his hands on his turn. Killua did so, bracing himself just in case Daniel did something ridiculous.
He was not disappointing. His partner used him as a platform, jumping off his palms to perform a backflip. Upon landing, Daniel dipped his body, performing a Spiderman pose; one hand resting against the floor, while his other was stretched out and his knees bent.
He gave his partner a wicked grin, a secret challenge. Top that…
When Daniel got back up, he held his hands up. He wasn't expecting Killua to actually, one-up him that time. The moment Killua kicked off his hands, he felt butterflies in his chest. He was no longer grinning, but openly staring at his partner with affection…
So, for keeping to Eifion's conditions… I want to kiss Killua so badly right now. But… I have to keep my promise… To be fair, Eifion didn't state he couldn't express his love for his partner through his eyes. He can look, but not touch…
At least for now…
Killua decides to go all out, to impress his partner.
If I do a move you can't repeat, don't fret. The same applies to me… we're challenging each other while impressing the crowd.
Those were Daniel's words for him. But he wasn't going to listen. He was in it, to win it. He was going to whoop his partner's ass, leaving the poor boy to bite the dust.
Killua used his partner's hands to do a backflip, but his angle, combined with the double kick causes him to spin, landing in a kneeling position. Killua raised his head, showing off a wide smirk.
Daniel grinned. You… Alright, let's get that momentum going! See how far you're willing to go.
The two continued their dance of 'give and take', each action is different than the other. Eventually, they became synced, neither one giving the other time to think, only respond with their move.
Even when they used each other as a platform to bounce from, it didn't infringe on their sequence. It was no longer just a challenge; they were moving freely amongst themselves to their tune… the music no longer matters.
What Daniel wanted to happen, came true. All he could do was continue to smile as the song went on.
Killua no longer saw the crowd as watchful eyes, but background noise he no longer cared about. Fuck the cakes! I'm having fun now… The boy thought to himself as he shifted, preforming a triple-somersault as his partner twirled, feet gliding along the floor with ease.
Then the music shifted, the momentum from the earlier build-up, stilling. The two changed their tactics, closing the distance between each other. Killua gripped Daniel's hands, doing what his partner did with him in the last song, controlling the way they moved, the two spinning as one, laughing joyfully.
On the last strum, Killua leaned into Daniel, preforming a dip with his partner. The boy's back was bent backwards, curved to the point his head was almost touching the floor.
Daniel had only one leg on the floor, his other being held up by his partner at a ninety-degree angle.
Killua hoped it was last part of the song. Unfortunately, it wasn't… there was a couple of seconds left.
When the music stopped Killua leaned backwards. He performed one final action; flicking his hand, he spun Daniel out of his grasp as he let the boy go. Daniel stood straight, offering his partner a bow.
Killua did the same for his partner. During that performance, he had so much fun, he'd been bubbling with excitement during the majority of that dance. He just didn't wish that particular song ended so early.
Then again… They had one final song.
They didn't have to wait long for the cheers or clapping. This was a performance by the two of them, their moves dedicated to each other in forms of mini-challenges.
Killua couldn't wait for the next one, nor could Daniel.
He hit the button and this time Killua saw it, how he was letting the person in charge, most likely Eifion, to know to go ahead. He crossed his arms, wanting to pout… but he couldn't exactly stop smiling.
They were both sweating now, but the final song was about to start.
~ Only One by Illunium ~When the music started once more, Daniel held his hand in an open gesture, hoping that now his partner would want to close the gap on his own. This built up, right up to this moment, where Killua will no longer hold back…
To embrace the need to want to be with him. Whether that was due to the boy wanting to receive compliments along the way, to see his expressions… or he received joy from 'the dance' itself… He wanted Killua to want it on his own now.
Not with bribes…
He wanted Killua to want this…
Killua took his partner's hand, eager to see what his boyfriend has planned for them. He's long forgotten the onlookers, except the moment they stopped dancing.
He no longer cared about the deserts. He wanted to know… what happens next.
Daniel took control of introduction, swaying their bodies in tune to the music. During the building vibrations, they moved forward, while on the reverberation, they moved backwards, barely a step being made during any of these actions.
They merely bounce from heel to toe until the double clap was introduced, Daniel moving his steps in conjunction with the claps. He kept them weaving, their hips swaying as the music flowed.
When the lyrics kicked in, Daniel's lips moved soundlessly, twirling the two along the dance floor.
I guess I'll be the first to say it…
The boy performed three twirls with his partner, shifting it into a dip as the next part of the lyrics started.
I haven't felt this good in a while…
Shifting his feet once more, he brought the two of them back up, swaying their body as he made two steps forward, followed by two steps backwards.
Daniel gestured to himself with his thumb as the next set of lyrics began.
You tell me I'm the only one that they would all~ like…
Killua snickered at Daniel's action. He didn't think his partner would go beyond that, to openly express his feelings without any words, just the lyrics of the song…
He was wrong…
Daniel performed a dip, followed by a spin, their free hands stretched out in an open gesture. Daniel pointed at Killua as the next part of the lyrics kicked in.
But you're the only one that kept me a~live~
Daniel brought Killua back in for the chorus, the boy curling himself into his partner's arms. He curled his back along Killua's arm, using it to stop himself from falling backwards.
Killua's cheeks tinted; between Daniel's actions and the lyrics, he was in for a long ride… one filled with as many compliments as the boy can give without having to utter a single word. The boy was milking this song for everything, using the lyrics to not only to tease him but state the boy's feelings. From what he's heard so far, he can reference several occasions they were both aware of.
It could be the Chimera Ants incident…
Finding Zaikaria…
Finding Scarlet…
Dealing with Victor…
Daniel was making his feelings known to him, while those who are watching them are unaware of the context. Eifion might know a few things, but not everything. His boyfriend was doing this for him.
Mmm-mmm Oh-ooh~
You are the only one~
With a smile, Daniel pressed a finger against Killua's nose when 'one' was being mentioned. Killua openly gawped at his partner from the cheesiness. He couldn't believe the boy did that during their dance.
By the end of the song, his jaw is going to be touching the floor from Daniel's actions alone.
You are the only one that kept me alive~
From Daniel's stance, he stood up, his front foot was used to help him turn on the balls of his feet. One hand resting against Killua's waist while the other interlocked their fingers.
He spun around during the next few lyrics, his smile growing bolder by the second. The anticipation was killing him. There was an incoming part that required Killua to put his absolute faith in him.
You were the only~ one~, the only~ one~ that was on my side~!
Daniel carried the two, turning Killua so the boy's back was turned to him. He took the boy three steps forward, one hand resting against Killua's thigh. As the next part began, he dipped his partner backwards, using the hand resting against the boy's thigh, he raised his lover's leg it was at an obtuse angle.
He kept that position for a few seconds; letting go of Killua's leg, he twirled the boy out of his grasp, only one hand now keeping them connected. While the two now faced each other, the boy shifted his feet, sliding towards Killua. The hand that was interlocking their fingers, was pulled away. He let go of the boy's hand to instead glide it along the boy's arms towards Killua's waist.
YOU were the only one that kept me alive~
With both hands firmly on his partner's waist, he waited until the singing of that specific line ended and the beat of the music kicked in. He wasted no time, grabbing his partner by the hips and throwing him up into the air.
Killua's eyes widened when he felt his feet leave the floor, his body sailing up into the air. It felt the same as when the three of them were back on Greed Island when the boys were replicating Tsezgerra's ability to temporally float in the air.
Only this time, he had no control over the situation. When he felt himself freefalling back down, he had two options.
Let Daniel do whatever he intended to do with him…
Or flip mid-air so he could brace his landing with little to no impact. The last thing he wanted to do was show off his strength, to crack the floorboards beneath his feet.
He decided to let Daniel do the former, closing his eyes as he waited to the moment.
When Daniel successfully threw Killua up into the air, he dropped to one knee, closing his eyes as he allowed his aura to stretch out for the first time in months. He let his aura feel for any disturbances, hoping that what he was planning, would work in his favour.
He could not specifically distinguish Killua's aura from another object, where the boy would, or how he'll land. This was all based on gut instinct. The moment he detects any mass, roughly the size of his partner, that's when he'll make his move.
As he was waiting for the next part of the lyrics, Daniel felt the disturbance, a little off centre. He accidentally threw Killua at an angle, launching him backwards instead upwards.
It may have also been the way Killua was landing…
Either way, if he's too slow, his boyfriend will be landing back-first onto the ground. If that were to happen, he'd break his partner's trust or his back… He highly doubted he could do the latter, but given how hard he threw him up, he assumed the force would be the same coming down.
Then again… if he acts too hastily, he won't be able to time his next move with the moment the next part of lyrics starts.
Daniel wanted more time to think about it; however, Killua's safety was more important. So, the boy acted, he opened his eyes as he stood up. Following the disturbance, he turned to face his partner freefalling, a few meters from touching the ground.
He kicked off the ground, closing the distance between himself and his partner. He used the momentum to catch Killua, his left hand grasping his partner's left palm. As much as he wanted to interlock their fingers once more, it would've been too difficult to pull off.
Given the situation that he could use Nen right now, but Killua couldn't… he risked the chance of hurting his partner accidentally.
Killua opened his eyes as Daniel caught him, the twos' eyes meeting as they landed. Damn, now this is what I would call a Kodak moment…
The twos' eyes lingered as Daniel skid across the wooden floorboards.
The boy reached for his chest, plucking the tag from his vest. At first, he wanted to throw it aside, but that risked the chance of another student picking it up. His eyes glanced in Eifion's direction, giving the man a nod before passing the tag back to the man.
Eifion caught it with his free hand, a warm smile showing. The boy only needed it for a specific moment, and now that it's passed, he was giving it back.
The moment Daniel tossed the tag, he grasped Killua's waist, spinning the two of them across the floor just as the next set of lyrics started. He couldn't have timed that more perfectly if he tried.
You were the only one~
The room erupted in cheers as Daniel swung them around, the momentum accidentally giving them a few extra unintended spins.
When the heavy reverb kicked in, the boy readjusting his positioning, slamming one foot against the floor so added a bounce to stop them from accidentally spinning into the crowd.
He kicked off the ground once more, changing his hand holding Killua's palm to interlocking their fingers once more. He dipped his partner once more before flicking him back out, the hand around the boy's waist now linger at his side.
Even after all this ti~me~
Pulling the boy back into his grasp, he made several steps forward, trying to get closer to the middle.
Fear can grip me at night
Daniel dipped his partner again, moving him like a snake, weaving gracefully as it was getting ready to lunge at its prey.
But somehow, somewhere you make me be~lieve
The boy shifting his partner's position, weaving him forwards and backwards till they were standing once more. Letting his eyes linger for a moment, he let the next few lyrics sink in.
I could see it in your eyes~
They moved once more, taking several more sets towards the middle. Daniel spun his partner into a dip, once hand tracing the boy's shirt in tune to the next part of the lyrics.
So take me as your breathing proof
The boy's heart may have been hidden, but he was sure it was beating rapidly from all the excitement and exercise, his boyfriend was getting right now.
If his eyes could speak, they would've uttered the words: make love to me. There was no way to deny it now, after everything they've experienced up to this point, Killua deserved it.
He has bottomed every single time, with little to no complaints… just because Daniel was scared of the possibility of enjoying the position, more than his father, Vastorie, might have…
His body was now Killua's to manipulate, to touch freely in whatever way the boy wanted, no matter what their future held.
The hand tracing his partner's chest glided along the shirt to hold the boy's waist once more. With a flick of their body, they were standing up straight, eyes focused on each other.
For everything you've ever done for me~
"If I were to say I love you, you'll believe me… correct?"
The hand interlocking their fingers lifted above the boy's head, rotating his until the boy's back was press into his chest. He took three steps forward, hoping that it didn't look like he was rutting against his boyfriend's back
All he wanted, was to utter his feelings, to let his partner know that tonight, he was all his to enjoy.
I won't lie~ and fear no more~
"Yeah, of course… why are you telling me this?"
Daniel performed a reverse dip, sliding his foot back as his partner rested against his chest.
Killua's inched his foot forward in response, giving himself an easier time to lean backwards.
I hope you real~ize~
"I'm ready…" Daniel twirled his partner from the position, the two facing each other once more, "I want you…"
You kept me alive
"You mean…?"
Daniel took three steps back, a smile forming across his lips "Yes…" He didn't care if others could read their lips, understand what they're talking about right now. He said his peace. He has let his partner know how much he wants him sexually. He was filled with infatuation, unable to give a damn about people judging him for letting his feelings out during an inopportune time.
He was ready and willing to voice his opinion to his partner right now.
Ooh, Oh-ooh~
"I don't care others think…" Daniel immediately lifted his partner a few feet off the ground, spinning the two of them in tune with the next few lyrics.
You are the only one~
"I want you…" He placed his partner down as the lyrics finished, the two of them swaying comfortably in each other's grasp. Killua felt flustered, shocked even. Who was this new concupiscent version of Daniel? Was he here to stay…?
He did feel an overwhelming desire to rip his partner's clothes off and do him, the moment their door closes. But that wasn't for a few hours, given their situation. They won't be able to escape the barrage of questions once the music and clapping stopped.
No… Not after everything they've done…
You are the only one that kept me alive~
Daniel spun the two of them around as though they were dancing in a ballroom, each slide was matched to the sound of heavy thumping. Even though they were alone in this tango, Killua never truly felt like it.
He felt alive, the rough pounding in his heart, hammering away at the door that guarded his emotions. It had already broken down many times before, but each time it fell… it was for a completely different reason.
He knew Daniel was going to ask him for his feelings on the matter. Whether he wanted his partner just as much as he did. But, saying it was one thing…
Doing it… was another.
He'd gladly say yes. All Daniel need to do, was ask when they were alone, not with others watching their every step.
Daniel wanted his partner to say he wants him too, but the boy's brain was probably fried. He needed an answer, for the sake of his feelings on the matter…
But considering how many times in the past, he could feel how much Killua wanted to be the one to top him. Hell, even in the past, his boyfriend made it clear that he wanted to 'give' at some point.
He was just too shy… scared even to give in.
But that all changes tonight… If Killua still wanted it.
You were the only~ one, the only~ one that was on my side~!
"Killua…?" Daniel half whispered; the initial shock he received from Killua was nothing, in comparison, to how he felt, once he realised the grave mistake he just made. If there was a lip reader in the crowd, they'll have just seen 'Kyle's' real name being uttered.
"I'm sorry…"
"I- It's ok…" Killua barely breathed out. It's a simple mistake they could fix later. 'Killua' is his middle name. A simple, easy fix… He paused his thoughts to answer calmly "To answer your question…"
YOU were the only one that kept me alive~
Killua this time dipped Daniel, cheeks rosy like his partner was soon to be. He knows he wanted to admit these feelings while in the bedroom. But it's just… there was something about this moment that made want to scream yes… followed by a fuck, yes. However, his feelings were still caught off-guard, so he ended up stuttering the words "O- Of course… I'd like to… claim you…" The boy brought his partner back up to a standing position.
He, however, was soon smiling once he noticed his partner's rosy red cheeks. Killua had said yes, and even though Daniel had been begging for an answer, it didn't look like the boy was expecting a full response.
Just a no…
Or a yes…
Damn… I really, like it when you're the embarrassed one and not me…
You saw my insides from the outside~
Daniel thought about the imagery as he kept a slow pace with his partner. He doesn't know why, but he felt like Killua would give him a different answer if they were alone. A more… aggressive one, if nothing was there to overhear them.
Those hidden feelings rub him the right way. A forceful kiss, no foreplay…
Just them, and the sounds they'll make…
He just wished he didn't have that fear of getting hurt settling in his mind, let alone the possibility of him enjoying rough play like, Killua does. Still… in the end, he'd still want it, at least once, because it's what Killua enjoys.
It's what Killua wants…
The boy sighed, "I'd probably enjoy it…"
You saw a chance, gave me truth so I sur~vived
Killua raised an eyebrow "Enjoy what, exactly…?" Killua took control, whipping Daniel into a spin.
Saw my insides from the out~side~
Daniel blushed, after realising he failed to keep those thoughts to himself. He was just surprised Killua didn't pick up on the hidden meaning. The boy was quick on his feet, his thoughts, to decipher hidden possibilities…
He after all, without knowing what was going on, understood King Meruem had company. Whether that was Palm, or as they later learned… was Komugi. Daniel spoke with Meruem he learned that their feeling wasn't that much different.
But that was all in the past. This was the here and now, him being spun into his partner's arms, Killua's right arm cradling his waist, "Cheeky…"
Daniel shifted his stance. In one fluid motion, he unravelled himself from his partner's grip until they were at an arm's length distance, then he proceeded to tug Killua back into his arms, doing the same as Killua done to him "I'm the one who's supposed to be in control."
You saw my insides from the outside~
"You've been slow dancing for the last thirty seconds." Killua slid Daniel into another dip, a single finger being pressed against his partner's forehead. He smiled cheekily at his partner who only frowned in response.
You took a chance, gave me proof without a goodbye
Daniel wrapped one leg around his partner, while he used his other like a brace. Tripping his partner, he flipped their stance so Killua was now being dipped once more, the boy's head closer to the floor given their sudden change, "I'm sorry… it's because the lyrics are too quick in this section."
Now here I am, just happy to be alive~
Daniel slid his body back, pulling Killua up to hold him in the air; he was holding his boyfriend like he was trying to find service on a remote Island with his cell phone.
Oh-ooh~
Removing one hand, he continued to hold Killua with a single hand, showing off his core strength to the rest of the students. If he hadn't been training to open those doors back at the Zoldyck Estate, he'd never be able to pull this off.
He made it look easy…
But, in reality… it was anything but easy.
It takes years to learn a technique like this.
The first person he was ever taught to hold someone like this, was his father… and sadly, it wasn't Vastorie… it was Nathaniel. One-hundred and thirty kilograms, compared to Vastorie who was eighty-five.
He couldn't lift the man until he was around nine.
Knowing Killua's unforgivable training, it would've been to lift him at… maybe six.
Killua was much easier to lift, at forty-eight kilograms.
However, he'd admit he rather he learned to hold Nathaniel than Vastorie. He could only imagine how many bad puns Vastorie would make along the way.
But…
Seeing Killua like this, smiling at him… it'd be tough to admit he'd rather hold anyone else now.
You are the only one~
Daniel swung his body around, circling Killua around his body as they spun on a single spot.
You are the only one that kept me alive~
When the lyrics had finished, Killua's feet were back on the floor, Daniel's eyes lost in his boyfriend's eyes. If it weren't for the next set of lyrics that were coming, he'd savour the moment until Killua got bored of standing around, while doing nothing.
Whether it be the boy's pretty features or eyes…
The way he looks at him…
He wasn't exactly sure. But if he were to admit anything, it's that he felt complete while in Killua's arms. Well… in his case, while he held Killua in his arms
You were the only~ one~, the only~ one~ that was on my side~!
Daniel knew he was reaching the end of the song, but he wished time could prolong the situation. He enjoyed this, being free to pamper his partner. But he knew once this song stopped…
Killua was waiting for the more… nightly activities to start.
YOU were the only one that kept me alive~
Daniel applied a step slide against the floor as he dipped his partner. He was filled with love and affection, eyes lingering on the figure he has fallen hard for.
All he'd need to do is dip his head, and the two would be interlocking lips. But he made a promise with Eifion.
He'll not break it, just because he wants to kiss his partner. They can more than made up for it once their bedroom door closes.
Until then, it's nothing but the music to help carry his feelings across.
You are the only one
Daniel threw Killua up into the air like, he did earlier. But unlike last time, he had a different plan in motion. Dropping his posture slightly, he ran around the floor, building up his speed so he could pull it off.
At the last second, right before Killua could start falling, the boy kicked off the ground, grabbing his partner by the hand, the two spun effortlessly in the air. He took hold of Killua's legs, bracing for landing.
You are the only one
As the boy landed, his poorly timed action caused him to scrape some of the bottom of his shoes and heel across the floor, leaving a black scuff mark for the cleaners to deal with later. Oops, there goes my chance of returning these shoes…
He threw his partner up into the air, this time not as high. He didn't want to repeat the same mistake as earlier.
You are the only one
Daniel caught his partner with ease, sliding the boy into a dip. It was his final move for the night, even though there were roughly another twenty-seven seconds to go.
He didn't want to do anymore, not while the two were breathing heavily, small beads of sweat cascading down the two boy's forehead. As they let the remainder of the song continue to run its course, Daniel looked lovingly into his partner's eyes.
"So, what you think…? Do I still owe you those desserts?"
Killua offered a mischievous grin, "You know I'm still going to say yes to that." When Daniel shook his head in disappointment, he was still offering his partner a soft smile. Killua was right, he'd never say no to chocolates.
Killua, however, still decided to continue voicing his internal thoughts "But you were right… I did have fun. So, no… you don't owe me those deserts, as long as you promise to make them on another day…" Killua muttered next part under his breath "eventually."
"I promise…" Daniel pulled his partner up as the music dimmed, the two offering a bow to the silent crowd.
"I will… because it's you, Killua."
Eifion hit stop on his camera, saving the file for later. With the video now saved, and the camera dangling around his neck, his hands were now free. He was the first to clap, while everyone was still stunned.
The last song had been completed and everyone, but Eifion was still registering that had all happened. The man smiled, knowing that after tonight, there was one man who'd enjoy this present the most. Vastorie is going to love this…
"~"
The room once more erupted into cheers and clapping. But now that nothing was drawing Killua's focus. All he could do was blush, remembering that he had put on a show for all these strangers that now had questions for the two of them.
In a couple of weeks, the new year will start, and unfortunately, once the wildfire spreads, they'll be the talk of the school for months until the topic runs dry.
Daniel interlocked his fingers with Killua, offering his suddenly shy partner a smile "Endure the compliments for a few hours longer. Then I'll be all yours…"
Killua dipped his head slightly. That's right… After all, this is said a done, his body will be all mine to ravage.
Eifion stopped clapping so he could make another announcement "That is the end of his special show. Feel free to ask them questions but do not bombard them all at once. With the new year starting in a couple of months, you'll have more than enough time to talk to the two of them. With that…" Eifion offered a nod at the DJ to continue playing the normal music for everyone, "Enjoy the rest of the night."
He flicked off the mic, walking down the stairs as he prepared himself for an onslaught of questions. Some of the teachers will be peeved at him, but considering how the situation went, he placed a good bet on tonight's surprise show.
"~"
Killua and Daniel sat dead at their table, throats dry and mind sapped of their remaining strength. Hundreds of questions were launched in their direction, and they answered every single one, sometimes the same question more than once.
Killua didn't know he could've been asked in so many ways, 'how long have you been together?" He counted, but he lost count after thirteen. He stopped bothering to count the same questions.
Even poor Alluka was receiving questions, and she hadn't done anything, besides record their actions. He wondered for how long Alluka knew about this, but considering she suffered the same set of questions as he did, and she was just as restless as they were… he'd ask another time…
When they weren't so dead…
"How long-"
"For the last GOD DAMN TIME… roughly two y-" Killua's eyes met Madelyn's. She was taken back by the hostility. She wasn't expecting Kyle to be so aggressive. Then again, he has been bombarded with so many questions, that tiny fraction of silence he received before her question would've been absolute bliss to him.
"Sorry…" Killua dropped his head in shame, one hand reaching over to tap Daniel "You take over, I'm one-hundred percent done."
Like a zombie rising from the grave, Daniel leaned back into his chair, barely keeping his eyes open for the girl "I have been summoned."
"You two look like shit."
"That's mean, and you know it." Claris stepped in, standing between the poor boys, Audrey and Madelyn. They didn't need any more questions right now, just peace and quiet. But Madelyn insisted that her question couldn't wait.
Still… that wouldn't stop her from trying to pull her housemate from the three, unfortunately, souls tapped of their remaining sanity "I told you we should've asked on another night. You can wait… can't you?"
"No, I can't!"
Daniel took a deep breath, coming back to life as he drew in the air "You wanna know why I kept my surname and Kyle's relationship a secret…?"
"Not entirely," Madelyn leaned forward, arms resting against the table "all I care about is why you hid the fact you're the child of Vastorie… and why he broke his promise… to me."
Daniel closed his eyes. What exactly did he promise her… However, he was a little too angry right now. Vastorie keeps too much shit to himself. He never says anything; he only hides the truth between too many lines. So whatever he promised her, he knows jack and shit about it "Look, whatever he promised you… I know absolutely, nothing about it. If you want to talk to that man-child, I'll give you his number and you can harass him yourself… considering what happened the last few times I tried to call him, I'd be met with radio silence… again."
"But-"
"His chucked a hissy fit and cut himself off from everyone, so he won't talk to any of family members. Don't expect me to give you any more when you won't even tell me your surname." Madelyn bit her lip, angry at Daniel for shutting her out.
Indeed, she's not willing to give the boy her surname, but there's a reason for it. Can't he just accept she wasn't willing to give it…?
Daniel immediately regretted his words. Here he was telling Clarisa to give Madelyn time to open up on her terms… and he was being an utter dick to the said girl, doing the complete opposite of what he told Clarisa to do "Sorry… it's been a long few hours of questions. I'm absolutely, tapped out. I promise, that I'll come to visit the three of you soon. And I'll explain everything I can tell you about…"
"Everything we're willing to tell you about…" Killua interjected, a single finger being raised to point at Daniel and himself, "There are certain risks to saying some of the things."
"Right…" Daniel sighed; drumming along the table edge, he spoke up after a few seconds "Let's have a more civil conversation when neither of us is dead. I'll explain what I can about Vastorie's reason for ghosting his family, okay…?"
Madelyn's eyes narrowed slightly. She wanted the truth now, but Daniel and Kyle were unwilling to say anything. They needed some time to recuperate their thoughts… possibly to hide more of the truth "If you promise to tell me the truth, I'll tell you why I won't say my surname. Don't even think about prying it from Clarisa, because she doesn't know either… only Vastorie knows it. And that how I always wanted to keep it."
"Deal…" Daniel offered a hand to shake on it, instead, Madelyn walked away, looking more frustrated than pleased.
"Madelyn…" Clarisa turned to the boy's with a sigh, "I'm sorry… but what she said is true. I don't know… but even if I did, I wouldn't tell you…" The girl turned to look at her housemate, "It's her story to say."
"It's understandable… I'm a little at fault too. It was nice of you to stay. I hope you enjoyed our dance."
"It was… I almost broke down in tears at one point. It was the way you two looked at each other. I… I wanted something like that."
"Well…" Daniel hummed out loud, "You can't have what Kyle and myself have. But… you can have your own story once you find the right person. Believe me… we have a friend, one we recently, and by recently… I mean for the last few months, just found out he has not one… but two lovers."
Killua groaned out loud, "Don't remind me… It's so weird to find out your best friend was in love with you, and your partner…"
Now it was Daniel time to groan, "Oh god… don't mention that."
"Wait, back up. He, has two partners? But…"
"He's polyamorous… and it looks like his two partners don't mind. They have a… I would call it a coexisting relationship. They bounce off each other, from what I can tell so far. I believe… that the three of them love each other."
"He's really lucky… I guess…" Clarisa sighed in defeat. Out here, she's single… and, Daniel and Kyle's friend, had two partners, "So, this friend, Gon… you mentioned he likes the two of you as well."
"He was attracted to Daniel's personality…" Killua interjected, "and I believe me because we were… very close. We got along really well. I was… I guess I still am in a way, attracted to him. But, if I were, to be honest, it wouldn't work out… I'm the selfish kind of boyfriend."
"What he means is he doesn't like sharing his partner with anyone else."
"Kyle doesn't like sharing… so he settled with you?"
"Oh no," Killua waved the notion away, "I like him… a lot. It just took… a change in our situation to understand why I like him."
"A change…?"
"I… don't want to talk about it right now."
"That's understandable…" Clarisa smiled in understanding, "is it the same reason why you hid your relationship until now?"
"No…"
"Oh, okay…" Clarisa turned to try to find her housemate, but the girl had long disappeared, "It was nice talking to you, but I have to find Madelyn. I want to make sure she's ok… and not upset."
"I wish you luck. We're going to continue lying dead on the table for another half an hour."
The girl chuckled, "have fun~"
"We will…" Killua groaned out loud, his head hitting the table once more. They will have fun but for a completely different reason. They just needed to get back, while still alive and not completely restless.
A\N: I fucked up Nathanial and Vastorie's weight… I fixed it. Nathaniel was supposed to be buff; at his original weight to that height would make him lanky. Vastorie would've also been super lanky, like a twig…
