As Killua and Alluka bicker in the background, Daniel rethinks about what he and his partner discussed earlier, about how they planned to deal with Victor.

The two siblings bickered in the background as Daniel sat in silence, distantly staring at the TV, rethinking about his ideas on how to deal with Victor. After yesterday's discussion, he can't help but be brought back to his words: In our next life, I hope I get to be me … and you get to be you, so we can meet each other again…

He could be thinking about it wrong, but what if that was the right method?

What if the simple thought of wanting to see each other, was all they need to see each other was the key to beating Victor at his own game.

He'd been thinking of the worst-case scenario, thinking of death rather than living his life without this bond they created.

Killua made a great point…

While he'd never want to forget Killua, that he couldn't live without the boy… his partner couldn't live his life without Alluka. Alluka could be a key figure while building this bond. She could interlock their minds and souls together, with a simple wish…

But then Daniel would be abusing Alluka's power. He didn't want that, not for her… and more importantly, he'd be breaking Killua's promise. Killua never wanted Alluka to use her powers for his own, selfish reasons.

So, with that idea being stuck from the list of options, he's now back to square one… Although, there was still this unshakeable feeling lingering in the pit of his stomach. He believed Alluka would be able to help him in this instance…

Wish-Granting…

Killua let out a frustrated groan, "I know…" the boy stumbled through the draws, finding the last item he needed. As he picked up the bandages, shoving them into his already overfilled elbow, he turned towards his sister "I made a mistake…"

"What is this… the third time you've hurt him?" Alluka rests her hands against her hips, pouting as her brother continued to act dismissive in this situation. Her brother was admitting he has made the mistake, but he was more interested than tending to his partner's wounds, than trying to stop it from happening once again "I know you love him… but you keep physically hurting him, why?"

"First of all, like I've been saying for the last twenty-four hours, it was a mistake."

"All of them?"

"All of them! This time was because one of us got distracted during a sparring session… If he remained focused, he wouldn't have eaten a knuckle sandwich."

"That's not fair to blame it all on Daniel you usually have great control over your actions. Besides your mouth, you tend to press people on their weakness."

"There is no shame in that. I have a silver tongue, sassy and great at pressing down hard on wounds. If they wanna talk shit about us, I'll rip them a new one."

Alluka crossed her arms, "You get a little too defensive though. You should ease up on your grip. I bet what happened this time, was the same thing that happened last time…?"

"No," Killua held out a finger to his sister "I was distracted last time… besides, that was for a completely different reason!"

"Different, how?"

I was buried to the hilt inside of Daniel… Punching him in the face is completely different from pounding him into the mattress. The boy thought to himself. He smiled at the memory, wondering when he'll be able to do it again. Although, he'd rather ease up on the roughness a tad bit. No need to repeat that situation, "It was rough play, gone wrong…"

"What kind of rough play results in someone walking funny?"

The sexual kind "The kind that we'll talk about we you're older."

"How much older…?"

"One or two years, we'll see how you go."

"What do you mean we'll see…" Alluka whined loudly as her brother brought the items back to the couch.

"When puberty hits, I'll talk about these things…"

"What's puberty?"

Killua's face turned bright red, he slipped. Telling his sister about a key point that will lead her down a rabbit hole of 'oh', 'ahh' and 'eww'. He doesn't want that right now, he wants her to remain ignorant, or childlike for a little bit longer. He wanted to watch her grow as an individual before he slaps her across the face with this information…

He doesn't want to destroy her innocence, to bring her into the adult world so soon after pulling her out of her solitude. She needs to experience childhood, and once she grows a little, hopefully by then she won't be weirded out by his relationship behind closed doors "Daniel help me out here…"

The boy in question remained silent, distant eyes staring off at the turned-off TV.

Killua raised a questioning brow before looking to his partner who was daydreaming, he gave his partner a playful shove, hoping to get him out of his distant state, "Come on, I didn't knock you out that hard. Earth to Daniel…"

Daniel's head snapped towards Killua, "Hmm, what?"

Killua rolled his eyebrows, "What do you mean, what? Have you not been listening?" Daniel's lost expression said it all. The boy sighed, "I'm talking about Alluka waiting until she's older before I talk to her about puberty."

"Oh, yeah… sure. I trust your judgement on that."

Neither Alluka nor Killua were convinced by the boy's words.

Something was on Daniel's mind. Killua would need to probe for his distant partner's lost thoughts, "You weren't listening…" the boy groaned out in frustration, his hand coming to rest on Daniel's shoulder, "face forward and tell us what's drawing your attention."

"And then puberty," Alluka added with a beaming smile from ear-to-ear "at least why I can't hear about puberty now…", she hoped by saying it in a cutesy manner, her brother and this partner would fall victim to her childlike personality. It has never failed her in the past, so why should now be any different.

Killua rolled his eyes at his sister's behaviour.

"I was thinking about what you said to me yesterday…" Daniel started, head dropping down a little as he returned to his deep thoughts.

"Oh, about what…" Killua held Daniel's head straight, slowly easing off the bandages he placed on his partner yesterday. He'd rather not rip the boy's hair out in the process.

"About dealing with Victor…"

"We'll cross that road when we cross that road. Hold still…"

"No, what I mean is-" Daniel turned to look his partner in the eyes.

When his partner attempted to look him in the eyes, he turned his boyfriend's head back to face forward, "I said to sit still. Also, I know you meant no harm by your ideas… you weren't just thinking of a good plan to implement them. So, take a little bit longer, than one day and night…"

"I think I have a better idea…"

"One day in and we already have a new idea. Alright, hit me…?"

"Promise rings…"

"We broke ours, months ago." Killua jokingly remarked, only to have then realised his sister would not get that joke. It'll go straight over her head and he'll be forced to talk about puberty when he doesn't want to.

"What did-" Killua quickly butted in, casting his sister's curiosity aside before it could bloom "When you're older…" The boy brought the conversation back around, "and marriage is out of the question."

"I'm talking figuratively about promise rings. Rather than our life being the catalyst, why not having ourselves be the requirement."

"Ok…" Killua's eyebrow raised in a questioning manner, where was his partner going with this "Explain…"

"We have to be conscious of our actions and thoughts. So, if our sleep patterns or mental train of thought is disrupted by outside interference, the ability kicks in to reboot our thoughts."

"Granted, that sounds great in thought… but not so great on paper. I need a little more to go on…"

"Victor attacks us in our sleep, knocking us unconscious of our surroundings in the process. If that happens, our link will act as a reboot, kick-starting the other person's thoughts…"

"That sounds…" Killua hummed as he trying to think of the best way to let his partner down, "weak… I think it needs more conditions than that, to strengthen the bond."

"What about trust… when I say reboot each other, I mean, we get to control the other's body while their memories come back to them. So, if he were to hit me with his Hatsu while I was asleep, I'd move as though I was a puppet on your string… you can issue me commands and force me to fight or run."

"Again, it sounds great and all… but I feel like it needs a little more thought. It's a great basis so far… it just needs… a little more thorough examination."

Daniel looked down at the floor, feeling a little defeated.

"Hey, I didn't say it was a complete waste of thought. I feel like Vows and limitations, needs to be applied so it's strong enough to not snap. Let me ask you a question… If you had access to my body… what kind of control would you use?"

"Access to your repertoire of abilities, so I'd force you to fight using your own, abilities."

"Question…" Killua held up a finger before pointing it at Daniel, "Do you know how my ability works…?"

"Not per se… But…"

"No buts… In this situation, that's the biggest concern about handing this sort of control over to another. I know for a fact; we don't know each other's limits. I could say I can handle up to… let us say a million volts of electricity coursing through my veins… but can you see the difference between a million and a hundred thousand volts?"

"No…"

Killua touched his boyfriend's hand once he saw the boy's defeated expression, "Hey… don't think of this situation as the end of the discussion. We need to think about these things, where the control stops. I don't want to have absolute control over your body while you're unconscious… it doesn't feel right, at least in this situation." Alluka raised an eyebrow, but Killua had already moved on from that comment "I'm sure you feel the same about me…"

"Yeah…"

"Another thing is we don't know how much of this… trust" Killua points to the string of aura flowing between them, "allows. What if you gain control of my body and my ability doesn't stop at me… it keeps going down the string onto you… I wouldn't want you to suffer hundreds of thousands of volts coursing through your body."

Daniel without a second thought hugged his boyfriend. He was glad Killua was here to think of the nitty-gritty things, hypothesizing about the things which could become a concern later. He would've never thought about Killua's ability somehow traversing their string of aura while he was unconscious.

If that were to happen, Killua would never recover from that. What's even worse about that, if he gets hit by the full force of Killua's electricity, could he even survive that kind of damage? He didn't think so…

The boy's hands refused to let go of his lover, the person who supplies him with an endless wealth of comfort. He was only thinking about this because he realised, he can't live without these memories.

He had been so afraid of losing his memories or even Killua to Victor's ability, that he had forgotten something more important building a protected field, the what-if their ability turns on each other…

He needed to address that before continuing to hypothesis a guard to Victor's ability. With this all being thought about and left in the open for the two of them to think about, there was another Daniel wished, they could see this side to their dynamic "I wish Zaikaria could see this side of you… That she would see you think about both of us, not just solving this conundrum."

Killua closed his eyes at the thought, hugging the boy back as a smile graced his features "I just wish she understood as well."

"Have…" Daniel looked up at his partner with hopeful eyes, wanting to know about something else that could convince Zaikaria that Killua would never hurt him intentionally "your memories of that night returned?"

Killua shook his head; all his memories of that night haven't returned, but a few that have backed up Daniel's claims of that night had. He remembers the fear his brother instilled into him, the running… but not a large bulk that could paint a better picture from his side of what happened that night "I have a few bits and pieces, but not enough to paint a whole picture. They'll come back… and even if they don't, no matter what… I still want to date you. I don't think at any point, I was the monster to you that night, at least the kind your sister thought I was…"

"Neither do I…"

"See, how talking it out helps?" Alluka came up to the pair, hugging the two with a cheeky smile "Now if only you'd extend that to why you won't talk about puberty." Alluka sighed as her brother looked at her incredulously. Looks like she won't be able to pry that information from him just yet "will you at least, tell me why you want me to wait till I'm older?"

"Alluka, I believe we were having a moment…"

"You have moments twenty-four-seven. If I were to wait until after your moment, I'd end up looking like a lady version of Grandpa Zeno. If Daniel were a tap, you'd be the sponge! That stuff never stops…"

As Killua's cheeks burned like a thousand suns, Daniel piped up with a smile, "I believe I'm more like a bucket… filled with raw, emotional love for your brother."

"See what I mean!" Alluka pointed at Daniel in an accusatory manner, "it never ends…"

"And like that… the moment has been ruined…" Killua pulled away from his partner, "Buckets of love aside," The boy's cheeks remained red from the reminder, "Fine, I'll give you an answer. I'd prefer…" he looked towards his sister, "or rather, you have a childhood you missed out on… then find out about the adult stuff now."

"It can't be that bad…"

"Daniel, how bad am I?"

"Are we talking bad boy or into the gutters bad?"

Killua covered his face, he can't believe he has to answer this kind of question. He'd rather the boy launched into a reason why he didn't want Alluka to find out about the stuff he and Daniel do behind closed doors. The boy was usually good at explaining away issues, without needing extra point.

But alas, he needed to supply this information to Daniel "The gutters…"

Daniel rubbed his face as he tried to think of a way to make both parties happy. This is probably the one thing he can't get away without sounding perverted. But Alluka was someone he found he needed to impress if he were to continue dating her brother "Well… I can tell Alluka one thing…"

"Please don't…" please, pick up on my social cues… don't tell her anything revealing.

"Tell me!"

"Alright…" Daniel looked at his pleading partner, feeling a little bad that what he'll say may upset Killua, but he had to say something in this situation, or Alluka will continue to press them both on this matter. With a genuine smile, he could see the other deflate at what he was about to say, "I can't give you the full story, but your brother touches me in ways I like… and dislike."

"Was the punch to the face one of those ways…?"

Killua snorted at his sister's question. This was why he didn't want to say anything at all, her innocence was too pure to crush right now.

Daniel looked at Killua, more disheartened at Killua's reaction to the question than what, Alluka had asked him. She asked a reasonable question, given the fact that the two might have been arguing about it while he was distracted with other thoughts.

If Killua was going to laugh at his sister's question, he'd just have to take her seriously "I was distracted because I was concerned about why Madelyn was leaving us without saying anything."

"Then… why were you walking funny that one time."

Killua choked on his breath, mortified at what kind of response his partner will give his sister.

"The good kind of touching… Killua will tell you, he just wants you to have something you missed out for years. When you're twelve, I promise he'll tell you." Daniel then looked at Killua, "Is that a decent amount of time for you…?"

Killua looked incredulously at his partner, then his smiling, pleading sister, "Thirteen!"

"Big brother?!"

"Please, thirteen… I want you to have a proper childhood before I talk to you about that kind of world."

Alluka pouted, cheeks puffed up comically. In the end, she relented, Daniel wasn't saying any more on the matter. Due to his relationship with her brother, his lips were sealed from saying any more on the situation, which means it's a topic about something not even Daniel was willing to talk to her about, "Ok… but the day after my birthday you better-"

"I will be an open book for you…" Killua touched his sister's hands, "ok?"

Alluka hugged her brother tightly like Daniel had done earlier, smiling widely into her brother's shirt. Even if it's not today or tomorrow, her brother promised he'd tell her the truth right after her thirteenth birthday "Ok…"

"Good, now that we've reached a consensus…" Killua pulled away to flashed his sister a warm smile. As he continued to hold Alluka close, he shifted his attention back to his partner, "think more about how we'll defeat Victor at his game."

Daniel gave his partner a nod "I will…"

"I'll do the same, even trying to expand on your idea where I can. Your idea isn't terrible, it's just missing a few key components we need to rectify or fortify. Namely…" Killua gestured once more to the aura connecting them, "understanding this connection you want."

"The connection…? Well, that's easy… I want to be with you, to not lose you."

With tinted cheeks, the boy tried to roll his eyes at the words. But his sister and partner could see right through him. He was embarrassed, "No, I mean you never set conditions to this thing."

"I didn't even know I created it until people pointed it out…"

"Exactly!" Killua whispered the next part, "I'm thankful you just haven't used it to read my mind…"

"What?"

"Nothing, just talking to myself there. We can use this connection with the right Vows and Limitations, to build something to block Victor from erasing our memories. I like your idea about the reboot… but what about something more like… shared memories. Rather than you controlling me, or me controlling you… and after his ability is activated, something kicks in and we share our memories of each other. The good and the bad, refreshing our thoughts and feelings for one another… that could work."

Daniel ran his fingers over his chin, "In our next life, I hope I get to be me … and you get to be you, so we can meet each other again…"

Killua's cheeks tinted a brighter read "Wh- Wh- What about that?! I only said it because it made sense in that situation… don't go repeating it every time…"

"I said it because I was thinking about it the entire time… How could I work that into an ability, so that we don't forget these memories of each other? What you said, I thought could help me… It's just that don't know-how. I'll figure out something… maybe ask Nathaniel for guidance."

"Then you have a plan… just not a plan…" Killua this time held a hand to his chin, "I might call our old teachers, see what they have to say… while leaving out the whole part about Victor hunting us down."

"Good luck with Bisky…"

"Ugh… don't remind me. She'll be like a hawk with that kind of question… going as far as to find out why we want to do it."
