Gon is sitting in on one of Sakura's and Iason's Nen lessons, interested to see what kind of teacher his partner is.

Guest Thank you for the review it made me smile from ear-to-ear.

A\N: So, a few things to mention, after being in lockdown for… it felt forever (I live in Australia, Victoria), I'll be finally going back to work. It'll been a long time since I last went to work, so now that we're reopening our door, I'm finally going to get some human interaction, yay!

However, for the moment we'll be working a lot more than usual, so it's gonna be interesting.

That being said… it will not affect the next few weeks of chapters. Right now, I just finished working on chapter 127.

So AngelFaux pointed out something, so when I went back and re-read the author notes I left on that chapter… I realised, I dun fudged up.
First, I hadn't written two chapters, I wrote three lolz… I couldn't count for peanuts that day.
second, the three ideas lined up are three main plot ideas. One of them is a side plot, on a technicality. That would be this chapter :)
The two other ideas, is mainly focusing on how to drive the main, side arcs forward, as well as their interactions and so forth. That would be Madelyn and Clarisa, as well as the drug dealer issue.

As for those two future events, one of them is about Victor's impact (I'll spoil it if I say anymore), the other is about Iason's past (again, spoilers).

Now with all that being said… time to move onto the actual chapter. Enjoy :)

Gon sat with his legs crossed, swaying slightly from his giddiness. He was interested to watch his partners practising Nen, even though he won't be able to see the progression. Sure, even if he could see it, he wouldn't know how Sakura was at the start…

How the boy started, before reaching the point he was at currently.

It also didn't help that he couldn't see Nen as he is currently. He lost it months ago. He's unable to see the thing that once made him giddy…

To see the thing that made him once itch for a battle he believed he could win. It was his fault he lost it in the first place… he sacrificed the main requirement, that you need to have to be a hunter… for a self-gratifying kill that almost, got him killed in the process.

Some days he felt like he was getting it back, that his Nen was slowly returning… but they were brief moments that if he were to blink, it'll be gone the moment he opened his eyes. The only thing he retained from his lost Nen, was the ability to feel it in his skin.

He felt it every time he hugged Iason, it was a part of the many reasons why he loves to hug his partners. Knowing that Sakura can now Nen, explained why he felt that tingling sensation… an itch he'd normally need to scratch.

Things have changed for the better…

There was no reason to scratch that itch. But with new knowledge, comes questions he was intrigued to ask. But right now, he'd rather watch his partners before asking any questions.

Iason circled Sakura, holding out his hands to grasp Sakura's, "Focus… yes, I'm aware of the big loveable boy rocking on the couch, but he's interested in us… what we can do. He's not expecting perfection…"

"But…" Sakura started before finding himself looking away out of embarrassment, "I want to focus on the best I can be…"

Gon chimed with almost perfect precision, "But the two of you are already perfect to me…"

The two found themselves blushing from the compliment, losing their composure. Iason needed to step in, "Gon, please don't stare at us."

"But I'm interested and intrigued by what you're doing." The boy whined, saddened by the thought of breaking his partner's dynamic down from just a smile or from watching them intently. He wanted to see them, to be with them more than anything in the world… was there anything he could say or do right now that would distract them from his presence?

Iason sighed when Gon scrunched up his face. He was questioning something, possibly the situation in a manner that he was hoping, could get him what he wants "Gon… you're overthinking. Spit it out…"

Gon smiled warmly at the situation being presented to him, "What can I do or say that would keep you distracted from me?"

"Nothing…" Sakura chimed in, a little flustered for saying it out loud. Iason nodded his head, "You're like a beacon… a lighthouse in the middle of pitch-black darkness… there's nothing you can do."

Pouting at the answers, Gon spoke up once more "Then no matter what I do… you'll always be distracted by me…" humming at the news, he started to smile. That means he could technically get away with anything. His presence, no matter what he does, won't change how distracted they'll be.

Standing up, the boy walked over to Sakura, picking his partner up to take a seat in his lover's previous spot. Sakura froze when he felt himself being seated on Gon's lap, the boy's arms being wrapped around him keeping him from moving.

"See… now you can't get distracted from me watching you."

Iason facepalmed, "It doesn't work like that…" When Gon pouted again, he continued, "Now Sakura is gonna be distracted by your warmth."

"His warmth isn't the only problem…"

Iason raised an eyebrow, only to understand the reasons behind his partner's words when he started pointing at his lap or rather… the person's lap he was sitting on, "Seriously, Gon? Already…?"

"But… I can't help that I love hugging you…"

Iason eyes flicked back to Sakura, wanting to pull his partner's attention to him, rather than what was going on underneath him, "Ignore Gon…"

"Easy for you to say… you're not the one sitting on his lap."

Iason so badly wanted to pluck Sakura out of their boyfriend's lap to instead take his spot, but it looked as though Gon wouldn't be relinquishing their partner anytime soon. They'll just have to accept the reality of Sakura not only sitting on Gon's lap, but his excitement was pressing against the boy, "Focus on me…" Iason once more held Sakura's hands, "Remember what we talked about with Ten?"

"Yeah…?"

"Repeat it back to me…"

Sakura let out a steady breath, "Ten is a basic technique of Nen. It's considered a defensive ability, which helps defend against emotional attacks… Also, it helps you keep your youth."

"I'm pretty sure I explained it with more words than that…"

"To be fair…" Sakura touched Iason's hands, squeezing them with reinsurance, "you told me the backstory and gave me an example." The boy almost forgot about being on Gon's lap, that was until he was reminded of his position when his partner tightened his grip around him.

"You did well…" Iason once more drew his partner's attention back to him. Gon needed to stop moving around so Sakura will continue to focus on him, "but you forgot a small key point. It helps you also control the flow of aura. For Manipulators… and Transmuters, if I'm being honest… this is an important technique to master."

Gon piped up, "Yeah… I'm not sure about Transmuters because Killua has always been calm and collected… but Daniel greatly benefited in its uses. He controls his shadow, manipulating them to attack objects and people from afar. At the start… I remember when he first fought in Heaven's arena… back then I didn't notice it, but with experience… looking back on it, the reason he lasted for so long with his newly developed ability, was because of the flow… it was always constant…"

Iason gave a nod, "The reason I say Transmuters as well, is because of the flavour of the water changing and how they changed the texture of their aura during battle. It usually mimics an element of some kind…"

"Oh, yeah I understand that now…" Gon smiled widely, "Hisoka's aura was the texture of rubber and gum. Killua's was electricity."

While the prospect of Killua being able to mimic his aura to match electricity was frightening, considering when Gon's aura flared up was also frightening, he has learned to adjust to the idea that Gon has unbelievably strong friends "Which brings me back to the main point. Since we don't know which category you belong to, we should maximise the basic categories before branching out your talents…"

"Has Sakura done a Water Divination test?"

"No…"

"What about learning Ren?"

"Not yet. Since we want to more or less… play it safe, ease Sakura in the basics, he's so far been learning Zetsu and Ten. So, I rather he goes at his own pace."

"Understandable." Gon chimes in with a smile of his own, "Daniel already knew Ten for months before we went to Heavens Arena, but Killua and I were put into a position where we were forced to learn Ten and maintain a calm flow around us before midnight. I'd never want that to happen to Sakura…"

"See, you're in good hands…" Iason offered his partner a sincere smile.

"Quite literary…" Sakura emphasized to the arms current wrapped around his waist.

Iason shook his head with a childish smile, "So… since Gon is here and we'll be most likely practising as a group sometimes… why don't we use this opportunity to bring Gon into the discussion, while you're learning about Ren? It'll be good practice for Gon to hear how I've been training you."

"That'll be great!" The boy in question was smiling ear-to-ear. Maybe he'll be there to see Sakura learn which category he belongs to, "Maybe we could even learn Sakura's Category?"

Iason shook away the thought, "I don't think so. Maybe after a week, I don't see why not. We should have our partner practice a little bit before finding out."

Gon pouted at the news, but it was understandable. It could be very taxing for his partner to find his category as soon as he learns Ren. But on the other hand, "But if we find out Sakura's Category, we can get him to focus on certain areas better."

Iason rubbed his chin as he thought about it. It would be good to find out because either way, Sakura will need to focus on Ren and Ten. Plus, after studying for a week, they wouldn't know his entry-level, how well he could do at the start "Actually… you're right. Alright…" Iason paused to look at Gon, "I'll get Sakura started on Ren… can you go outside to grab a leaf outside?"

Disappointment flashed before Gon's eyes. If he had to go outside, that would mean he'd have to remove Sakura from his lap. Then again… he was in no position to help teach his partner Ren. He wouldn't even know if the boy was doing it correctly without Gyo "Ok…" Taking his partner off his lap, he placed the boy back on the couch before jumping to grab keys.

The moment Iason saw Gon left, the boy turned back to his other partner, checking on the boy's mentality first before anything else about Ren "How you feeling…?"

"A little stressed…"

Touching his partner's hand, he gently rubbed it between his fingertips "It'll be okay… it won't be a taxing process, I promise…"

"It's not that… it's what if I get the wrong category? What if there's no way for me to join you to help Gon… I don't want to be a burden to our dynamic."

Iason offered to kiss his partner on the forehead, like how Gon would do it, "There is no wrong category. What you're given, will be meant for you. Even if you were stuck as a Manipulator… no matter what comes next, I promised that you'll still be able to help me, help Gon recover his Nen together…"

"You promise…?"

"I promise…"

Sakura offered a weak smile in response to his partner's words.

Looks like he still doesn't trust himself "Hey… cheer up." He pressed his hand against the boy's cheek, "We'll get through this…"

Giving a nod as his cheeks flushed red, his smile brightened a little bit.

"I'll give you a quick rundown on what you need to do." He paused, removing his hands from Sakura before he pretending to circle them around an invisible cup, "You'll hold out your hands like so… then force your aura to wrap around the cup of water between your hands as though you were trying to crush it with your mind."

"Ok…"

"How the water reacts, will define your category. Give it a little try…"

"Without the cup?"

"Yup…"

Sakura repeated the boy's steps, trying to force out his aura into an invisible cup. Beads of sweat dripped down his forehead, the boy already panting after a few seconds.

Iason stopped his partner, "It might be too taxing on your body… we should try again after you practice some more."

"Wouldn't Gon be disappointed in me?"

"Never!" the boy 'boop' his partner's nose, "Gon is Gon… so he'll never be disappointed in us. I'm sure you'd feel that way too, if, you saw him the same as I do."

Sakura chuckled, "If I saw him like how you do, I never leave the bed."

It took the two far too long to realise what had been uttered. The second Sakura realised what he had said, they both were blushing madly from the comment "No- No- Not that it's anything bad. You too get along really, well in that department."

"Y- Yeah…" Iason quickly agreed, wanting to get off that topic as soon as possible. There was no need for him to remind himself that they were excessively handsy with each other, to the point foreplay was optional.

It would've been worse if Gon was there to hear it. But then again… if Gon were there to hear it, he would've been happy to know what sort of impact he was leaving on his partners, no matter how embarrassed they would've been.

Iason coughed, once more drawing their attention to their current predicament, "Let's try it… if we can't find out your category today, we'll try again another day, alright?"

Sakura gave a nod; he'll trust Iason with his judgement. The boy was good at making the right call at the right time "I trust you… And I'll trust Gon more often, at least when it comes to my body… no matter what situation it'll be."

Iason kissed his partner on the head, "He'll be happy to hear that…" The boy left his partner in a blushing mess as he got the rest of the preparation ready for when Gon gets back.

"~"

Gon came through the door, excited with what was to come. He kicked off his shoes before the door could even close, heading back to the living room, towards his partners still waiting for him.

Iason had his arms crossed as he was watching their partner, still practising Ten.

"I got it!" The moment Sakura opened his eyes, Gon had already dropped the leaf into the cup. He felt like a little excited kid again. This is his partner, the first person he ever started to date, about to experience a Water Divination test. He was going to be with his boyfriend every step of the way, no matter what comes next.

Before either boy could stop their partner, Gon had slid Sakura onto his lap again.

Iason shook his head with a smile, happy that his partner was happy with what was to come "Gon before you get super excited, just know that Sakura won't be able to perform Ren for long."

"Aww…" Gon whined for a moment before his mood shifted, smiling regardless of the news "that's ok. Next time then…"

Sakura's expression softens. He wanted to prove not only to himself but to the others he can be strong enough for them. Iason mentioned that he'll only need to do it long enough, to make a difference to the quality, quantity, or texture of the water.

Taking a deep breath, Sakura performed the task like how Iason showed him.

Fragments started to glisten in the water, tiny pebbles that glowed under the light.

Gon's eyes started to glow just like the objects in the water, awestruck with what transpired. It's the first time he saw it happened, but he knows exactly what category Sakura belonged to.

"I created some kind of… mineral in the water. So…?"

"I wanna tell him!" Gon vibrated with excitement, "please…"

"Sure…"

Gon hugged his partner tightly, "It means you're a Conjurer!"

"Is that… good?"

Gon nodded like a crazy man, "YEAH! Kurapika is Conjurer too and he's super strong! He managed to kill a Phantom Troupe member, and hold their leader captive while the other members fought about what they should do about Killua and myself."

"Gon…" Iason looked surprised at his partner, "just what kind of life did you have before meeting me."

"An adventurous one…?"

The boy facepalmed at his partner's response. He's glad Gon has calmed down, he doesn't know if his heart, let alone Sakura's could take on their boyfriend's previous lifestyle choices. Hearing that his partner got involved with the Phantom Troupe members were by no means strange, considering everything else he has told him.

"So, what are you…?" Gon broke Iason out of his internal thoughts.

The boy thought about it for a while. He's never actually done a test. After his parents passed away and his guardian started to look after him, teaching him the basics… he never actually got to find out his category "I've… never done it."

"You should do it then…" Sakura chimed in, wanting his partner to join in as well, to find out what his ability originally stemmed from.

"Come on, please…" Gon joined in with big puppy dog eyes.

Iason laughed as he waved off his two partner's pleading him to do the test next, "Alright… Alright…" The boy took a seat before dragging the cup closer to him. He then proceeded to hold out his hand, enveloping the cup with his aura. Besides the minerals disappearing, nothing exactly had changed.

Iason gave a nod before sticking his finger in the water, sucking the liquid into his mouth, "Huh… not the taste I expected…"

Sakura and Gon dipped their fingers in, tasting the liquid for themselves. When they looked at each other, they came to a mental agreement.

Gon voiced their thoughts "Tastes like Cinnamon, which means…"

"I'm a Transmuter… that would make sense, given my ability."

Gon offered a nod at the assumption, super excited at his partner's discoveries "But I think the taste matches your personality. I'd consider you a cinnamon roll…"

Iason turned away. Gon can be unbelievable at times. He was glad Sakura didn't pipe up to agree, but knowing their boyfriend, had he agreed, Gon would've most likely twisted the situation, stating the sparkling mineral in the water was exactly how the boy saw Sakura.

Gon was a little disappointed that he was unable to show what he was capable of to his partners "Sadly, I can't show you… but I would change the volume of the water… although, you'd probably need to grab a bucket." He then smiled.

Iason held out his hand to his partner "That'll make you an Enhancer then…" It made sense, why his partner was an Enhancer. It also helped him understand why so much aura had been collecting, building within his boyfriend's body. Those times when the boy's aura was released, was just a build-up of his original strength re-growing.

"Yup…" Gon held out his fingers as he counted all his close friend's categories, "Leorio is an Emitter… Kurapika and Sakura are Conjurers… Killua and Iason are Transmuters, and Daniel is a Manipulator… Also, my Nen teacher Wing was an Enhancer like me, and Bisky was a Transmuter like you, Iason…"

"You know quite a few Nen users…"

"Yeah… I'm glad to be friends with every one of them. I cannot wait to see how far the two of you can go! I'd even be happy to lend a hand, teach you anything I can. All I'll request…" Gon offered his two partners a cheeky smile, "a kiss in return…"

Sakura laughed at the request. He didn't mean to, but considering with how much joy he announced that request, it seemed both childish… and endearing at the same time. He'll agree to that, even though… he knows Gon's request meant nothing in the long run. He'll always want a kiss, no matter if they were requesting information from him or not "We'll ask for your help when we need it Gon."

Gon kissed his partner on the neck, "Good! I'd except hundreds of more kisses from now on…" When his partners blushed at the news, he laughed in a boisterous manner, excited with what was to come next from the newest aspect to their strengthening relationship.
