Here is Phase 49, which is mostly new as it was made from what was originally two sections from a Phase in the original. I would like to take a moment to send my well wishes to those who are affect by the conflicts of the world today, regardless of the side they are on. And I give those to the people who are suffering from the fighting in some way. I give nor assign blame to any, only want to give hope, thoughts and prayers of good-will and kindness. But please, all or you readers enjoy the Phase!

Phase 49: Settling Accounts

July 14th, 71 CE

Mendel Colony, Lagrange 4

The battle hadn't gone as well as could've been hoped by Tyler's assessment, though it hadn't gone bad either. OMNI's Third Orbital had been dealt with as per standing orders of the Federation's Admiralty. That put OMNI at four remaining Orbital Fleets in a little less than three weeks' time for the work to be done. The Dominion had failed in sinking the Archangel and capturing any of the Gundams, yet another good result. There hadn't been much loss on the Federation's side and horrible losses on OMNI's side. Tyler would admit there was a period when things had looked grim, but it had passed, and things ended well. However, there had been a price paid for the victory, which Tyler cursed but didn't say what he had failed to do.

The three ships which had been at Mendel had taken some damage during the battle, but none were out of commission. The Eternal lost functionality with four of its six small beam cannons. Then two of the Eternal's engines had taken enough damage that they would need repair. The Kusanagi had come out of the fight with the least damage taken overall but wasn't clean either. A number of its missile launchers and Igelstellungs had been taken out of commission and would need to be fixed or replaced. Tyler figured the two ships could soon patch themselves up in Mendel's spaceport. And with the help of Federation engineers and workers, the work would go even quicker.

On the other hand, the Archangel had gotten worse from the battle between the three ships being the favorite target. Three of the eight small engines and one of the large engines had gone through a forced shutdown. It prevented them from exploding after taking some "lucky shots" from the Gundams and OMNI's mobile suits. One Gottfried had been damaged and wasn't working, so it would need work done to be operational again. Four of the Igelstellungs had taken hits and would need serious repair before they could be counted on again. Then, the port side missile launchers had taken a beating and gone offline due to the damage. Tyler could help bypass things to get things running for the Archangel, but it would be better to be fixed up. The Dominion had shown the difference between bypassing things vs. repairing systems.

From what Tyler had learned from others while things were being worked on, the Gundams had all incurred some damage. The Freedom and the Aurora had only incurred minor damage, which was nothing mechanics couldn't handle. The Justice would need work on its shield since Athrun had used it to block the Calamity's multi-phased beam cannon during the fight. The cannon had gotten the shield to warp a good amount and canceled out the anti-beam coding. But beyond that, there was little damage with the Justice to note or undo that Tyler had seen. The Regenerate would need some beam guns replaced as it had lost one of its extra limbs. But apparently, there were spare parts onboard the Eternal so that the missing parts could be replaced. Thus, the Eternal's mobile suits would be ready given a little time should they be needed.

The Archangel's mobile suits, including the two it had recently started playing host, had taken more damage than the Eternal's machines. The Shadow had performed well with Krystal piloting, but she had taken some hits during the skirmish. Her choice of equipment with the flight system had served her well. However, the Shadow had still taken some hits during the fight, with one of the legs needing work and the shield needing an overhaul. The shield's railgun had been taken out of commission by a lucky shot. But as it hadn't been out on the field the whole fight, it had less work needing to be done. The Blitz would need its shield combo fixed since the rifle had been stressed and damaged during combat. Two of the suit's thrusters would need repair before further use. The Duel required its Shiva railgun to be replaced due to being sliced by an opponent. Also, the shield would need a bit of work and a fresh coat of anti-beam coding before another fight.

From what Tyler had heard, the Strike was mostly undamaged as it hadn't been in the second skirmish. There were still some minor repairs to make from the first battle, but those would be simple enough. Mu hadn't been out in the second battle because he'd been shot multiple times. Apparently, Creuset had appeared inside the colony from what was being told, but there was no detail as to the possible why. Mu had been wrapped up in bandages and confined to the infirmary since returning. Tyler could sympathize with Mu on being trapped as he'd been in that position not too long ago. And yet, Tyler could help but laugh when he heard about the lecture Murrue had given Mu about doing "reckless things. Tyler had seen something developing between the two though it wasn't his business.

The Federation's First Space Fleet had mopped up the area and had taken up defensive positions around Mendel and the immediate area. So there would be time to settle things before moving forward, and Tyler was glad to have that opportunity. He wanted to talk to Kira and discover what happened inside Mendel, especially with Creuset popping up. Creuset appearing around L4 wasn't a good thing, in Tyler's opinion. The masked man had been nothing but trouble in the months that had passed this year alone. His record reflected that Creuset was good at making messes that others tended to clean up. If that was all there was to Creuset, Tyler would be fine with detesting the man for the simple facts. However, there was so much more to the troublemaker than just causing crap and expecting others to clean up after him. Mounting evidence was just about screaming that Rau Le Creuset was the rat Tyler had seen the work of.

Should Creuset be the rat causing trouble, then him being around L4 at the same time the Alliance and specifically Azrael was no accident. The masked man was there to interact with the Alliance somehow without ZAFT noticing. Tyler was concerned that if Creuset had been trusted with dangerous information such as specs on N-jammer Cancellers, then that was bad. The man could slip that to the Alliance, and then all factions had nuclear technology, and nukes wouldn't be far behind. That thought wouldn't leave Tyler's mind and could only be relegated to the back of it.

Tyler began wandering around the port facilities to occupy his thoughts, not being in anyone's way. The current situation was better than it had been but still not the best it could be as things stood. The issues with the Dominion had been solved for the moment but would likely come up later. ZAFT had disappeared not too long after the First Fleet had arrived, and there was no sign of them. Should the Alliance be quiet for a time, it would confirm to Tyler that they had obtained n-jammer canceller specs. Nevertheless, Tyler's attention was brought back to the present when he spotted a Voyager-class coming into the spaceport. He assumed it was the ship in charge, but it didn't seem to be the Resolute. However, Tyler figured it would be good to report to the fleet commander to avoid trouble. It was part of doing one's due diligence, and Tyler did his best to observe such when he could. The mentality kept Tyler "below the radar" with his boss Admiral Raine, and Tyler did his utmost to keep things that way.

Tyler made his way to the docking tunnel the Voyager would use when it locked in, and it was extending as Tyler arrived. Once the path onto the ship was established, Tyler walked along the boarding tunnel and came onto the Voyager-class. After identifying himself, Tyler was informed the ship was called the Valoran. Tyler was directed to the officer's quarters for the one in charge of the fleet. When Tyler knocked and heard a voice telling him to enter, he stiffened as he knew the voice all too well. The voice was that of his boss Admiral Raine, and he couldn't think of why the woman would be with the First Fleet.

Angelia had been reviewing recent reports on the space fleet activities and SOLAS mission reports. But her attention was drawn when the knock came at the door, which got her to look up. She wasn't expecting anyone, the ship's captain had things in hand. Angelia was planning to talk with the Kusanagi's captain and the other two ships' captains if there was the time and opportunity. "Enter," Angelia stated, her gaze returning to the SOLAS report she'd been glancing over. When the door opened, Angelia glanced up for a moment and looked back down at the report. However, she paused, looked up again, and found she hadn't seen anything. Tyler McGregor had come into the room and was saluting her. It wasn't the gesture that caused her to pause, it was the teen was here at all. McGregor did quite a bit to avoid her most of the time, not that she exactly minded the behavior. McGregor was the SOLAS agent that she got the most grief about on a regular basis, the boy seemed to be a magnet for trouble. "McGregor," Angelia started, "Rare is it that you willingly report to me directly to what do I owe the visitation?"

Tyler looked away and muttered to himself, "I wouldn't have come to this ship if I'd known you were the one in charge." Angelia heard the muttering even if the words weren't clear. The teen had a habit of muttering things he knew would be unwise to say out loud. Thus, she would give him the chance to correct himself, "Care to repeat what you said louder, McGregor," she posed in an icy tone, "I don't think I heard right."

The tone told Tyler to behave and not screw himself by muttering. He was already in trouble with his recent actions with his boss, and he didn't need to make it worse. Admiral Raine already had enough against him with his service record. Between those who didn't believe Tyler did what he did or were jealous, he got a lot of flak, which was passed on to his boss. What had Tyler wondering was why his boss was out here at all. The woman tended to work around the Federation's Echowas base, which served as space HQ. Echowas was the biggest and the base neither of the other factions had ever found, not due to a lack of effort. Tyler had been to the place a select few times, mostly to report directly to Admiral Raine. Thus, he knew it was at Lagrange 6, above Earth's north polar region.

The base itself was made from what was believed to be an asteroid or two at some time in the past from its loose oblong shape. The main mass had been hollowed out but maintained the structural strength and integrity to be able to withstand a heavy assault. There was also an array of defensive guns and laser interceptors to defend the base itself. The large docking facilities took up a third of the base's area. And then, there were still docking points outside the east side of the base's structure, which didn't just exist inside the space rock. No, there were metal structures that came out of the asteroid itself as well on the sides and the back side of the rock. The Admiralty who led the Federation's military tended to be at Echowas, and their orders were distributed from there. The Admiralty consisted of fourteen individuals, two representing each branch of the Federation military and their subsidiaries plus two who were the head of the Admiralty as a group. The branches of the Federation military are; the Space Forces, the Earthbound Defense Forces, the Intelligence Agency, Mobile Suit Core, SOLAS, and Research and Development Association. His boss Admiral Raine was one of the two who represented SOLAS and was the one that pretty much called the shots for the organization. The other does more day-to-day background things from what Tyler understood and was good at. Tyler hadn't had much chance to work with or talk with Admiral Frederick Algreus personally.

So Tyler swallowed and spoke to give himself the best chance he could get, "I said that I was doing the right thing and reporting to the officer in charge. I didn't know it would be you, ma'am," Tyler stated. "Not that it is a problem, just surprised to see you away from Echowas."

Angelia had a stern expression on her face but gave a slight nod, "That's what I thought you said, McGregor. But you do the right thing does give the opportunity for you to explain something that has come up." Angelia picked up a datapad and had it display the mission report from the PLANT extraction mission. "From recent reports, you went AWOL, care to explain yourself, McGregor?"

Tyler flinched at the question as he knew all too well what she was asking about. She wanted his explanation of why he went to the PLANTs when he wasn't assigned. Tyler had prepared himself for this, but it didn't make facing the woman any easier. He took a deep breath, "I would be more than willing to explain my actions, ma'am," Tyler stated, "But permission to speak freely doing so, Admiral?" Angelia blinked yet gestured for Tyler to go ahead, "Granted, just don't get side-tracked," she replied. Tyler nodded and kept going, "It isn't that I doubted the teams sent wouldn't be able to do the job, boss. I had a friend involved in that mess and wanted to make sure they got out as safe as possible. Also, I owe Siegel Clyne for him hosting me during my recovery from a near-death experience. But most of all, I made a promise to the friend I mentioned that I would go and help bail them out. If doing that is wrong, then decide my punishment and hand it to me so I can get it over with, ma'am."

Angelia said nothing for a few minutes to McGregor's explanation. It wasn't the first time McGregor had gone off on his own and done things his way or for his own reasons. She got reports about such every few missions the boy was given. Angelia had gotten used to the rebellious behavior McGregor showed often enough. She didn't tolerate all he did and had established lines that weren't to be crossed. However, the mission to the PLANTs had been given to those who could do the job without bias or tip-off ZAFT. The insistence that Fredrick had said McGregor had shown with his requests hinted he wasn't right for the job. "There was a reason your requests were refused," Angelia returned, "discretion was key, and you have issues with that." She waved a hand, "Then what happened in this battle, McGregor? There were rumors a known war criminal was on one of the Alliance vessels."

Tyler's gaze went to the floor as he figured this would come up. Azrael had been on the field, not once but twice, and Tyler had failed to deal with the man both times. "The rumor was right. Muruta Azrael was onboard one of the ships, ma'am," Tyler replied flatly. "The first time I went against the ship, I went with disabling the ship's system. I let a petty grudge and interest to prod get the better of me, and the criminal got away."

Angelia sighed, "War criminals aren't to be fooled around with, McGregor. I would've thought you knew that. You know the protocol with them as much as I do, so what happened, McGregor?" Tyler didn't look at his boss, "I'm well-aware, rest assured, boss, especially with the one I should've dealt with properly. And the second time, I got interrupted by the Alliance's Third Orbital arriving." Tyler stopped as he had chosen friends and allies over what protocol would demand.

Angelia noticed the hesitation, and her thoughts arrived at the conclusion that McGregor hadn't taken a shot to destroy the ship with the criminal. "And did you not have the opportunity to take a fatal shot at the ship? You botched your first chance to deal with the criminal, and I hope you weren't so quick to do the same with the second."

Tyler continued to gaze at the floor, "I was about to, but allies were in trouble." Tyler hesitated, "I chose my allies over dealing with the war criminal, boss. I've been cursing I had to make a choice, but I can't change it." Tyler stopped knowing the normal expected consequence of failing to deal with a war criminal: discharge from the military. Tyler was proud of his service and had been looking forward to giving more, but it was not to be. So, Tyler swallowed and brought his head up, still not looking at Admiral Raine. "I will prepare my resignation, ma'am, and wait for my discharge papers." Tyler turned to the door wanting to leave and plan out the rest of his life since it would change.

"Don't you dare leave this room, McGregor," Angelia barked, "I have not dismissed you." Tyler stopped but didn't turn around to face the woman as she continued. "I'll save you the time and tell you I will not be accepting your resignation, McGregor, so don't bother preparing it." Tyler turned and stared at Admiral Raine, "But why," he asked. "Protocol with those that don't deal with war criminals says that's what is to happen."

Angelia exhaled heavily, "McGregor, if I demanded resignations from those who have failed to deal with Azrael, then I would have less good SOLAS agents. That man had evaded us for years now, so I'm not going to kick you out for missing him. And besides the fact, you're too valuable a SOLAS agent for us to lose." Angelia rolled her eye at McGregor's jaw dropping open, "Do you comprehend how much you get away with and I not demote and punish you for? If most other agents pulled what you do, I would have them doing menial labor quicker than they could apologize for what they did. You're the best infiltrator SOLAS has ever seen and we can't afford to lose that." Angelia sighed, as the memories of the offers the other branches had made for the boy. "Every other branch of the Federation's Military would be more than happy to take you from SOLAS. Take that as you like, but make no mistake, you belong to me, I assign and use you as I see fit."

Tyler was nearly floored by what his boss was saying since it was the closest thing he'd gotten to a compliment from her. Yet, if he was as valuable as she said, why did she ride him so hard? "Then why do you snap at me so often, boss?" Tyler threw up his arms, "You make it feel like nothing pleases you, that anything I do is a mess you personally have to clean up. So, what freaking gives?!"

Angelia's glare silenced Tyler, "Because I get a lot of flak for what you do, McGregor. And it is a pain to deal with, you provide me unnecessary work with the complaints that come in about you. The reason I do deal with it is because you do the jobs you do and do them well." Angelia banged a hand down on the desk, making Tyler flinch and draw back slightly. "And so, shut up, stop griping so I can give you your punishment you were so desperate to receive!" Tyler swallowed hard and stiffened, waiting for the hammer to drop. "You are to give me the best damn written report in the next twenty-four hours you have ever made explaining your actions in the last three weeks. No humor or sarcasm in it, I need none of your antics you use to frustrate others. This report will be coming to me, so keep that in mind, and I expect it actually to impress me a little. Is that understood, McGregor?" Tyler blinked at being told he was to write a report for his boss, it was such a light punishment. He didn't have a good answer for the punishment as he expected far worse. However, the hand banging on the desk got his attention back, "I said, is that understood, McGregor," Angelia barked loudly.

Tyler instantly saluted and spoke, "Yes, ma'am, write an amazing report for you explaining my actions properly. Have it ready in twenty-four hours and turn it in within that time frame. I'm screwed if I don't make it impress you or if it's late. Those are my orders, ma'am," Tyler shouted. Angelia grunted and sank back to her chair, "Very good. Also you are relieved of duty for a week starting today," she remarked, "You would do well to use that time wisely, McGregor. You're dismissed."

Tyler left the quarters not wanting to tick off his boss more than he already had. He'd gotten off very lightly for what he'd done in the last few weeks. Tyler had fully expected to be chewed out and assigned dull and tedious duties for a time by his boss. Writing a report would be simple enough though he would have to work on it as it was to impress Admiral Raine. Plus, he had "free time" since he was off duty for a week. That also meant no official background work, and he was to keep his head down. Also, no special access to the Information Network as his military creds would be suspended. Then Tyler remembered he had wanted to find Kira and get him to tell her what happened inside the colony. Tyler still hadn't heard much detail as to why Mu had come back injured and what the rat was doing there.

Tyler returned to the spaceport area, trying to figure out where to start looking for Kira. The guy had vanished while things were being worked on. And the few Tyler asked told him they hadn't seen any sign of Kira since the battle ended. As Tyler searched, he came across a strange group that caused him to pause. The group consisted of Athrun, Nicol, Dearka, and the white-haired one they all seemed to know. Tyler studied the interaction for a minute and didn't like what he saw. The white-haired guy appeared to be reprimanding Athrun for his recent actions in helping the Federation. The other two were trying to keep the peace but couldn't do so with the white-haired one.

So, Tyler put his search for Kira on hold in order to help Athrun in this situation. He wouldn't stand by and let a friend get reamed for his choices, which was good. Tyler suspected the white-haired guy was the "hothead" who had been piloting the Duel, the attitude certainly fit. Thus, Tyler closed the distance and wasted no more time, "Hey," Tyler snapped, "Stop ripping into Athrun for his choices! You want to accuse him of wrongdoing, then talk to me since I will defend what he has done, providing evidence of why he made the right choices." Athrun was surprised to see Tyler pop up, and he had gone off to vent the last Athrun knew. But Athrun could defend himself as much as he appreciated Tyler's willingness to do so. "Tye, I can," he started, but Tyler held a hand up and cut over him. "Clamp your mouth shut, Athrun," Tyler said, "I will be dressing down this guy for his mistake. And then your colleagues here will inform me what you have done and why properly." Tyler turned and faced Yzak gazing at him with a stern expression, ready to debate this guy and win.

Yzak blinked at this guy's appearance as he had come out of nowhere and Yzak had never met him before. Whoever they were, their claim to defending Athrun was foolish as his actions were clear. Yzak would put this guy in his place and then continue dressing down Athrun as was proper. "Don't waste my time," Yzak snapped, "Go away so I can continue dressing down this fool."

Tyler smirked, "You want to dress down Athrun, you go through me first, punk," he stated. Tyler folded his arms, "Athrun had done better than most ZAFT soldiers in this war and is in better standing than ZAFT is right now. I will explain to you exactly why that is just in the current year alone, among other things you may have learned." Tyler stopped and took a breath, "Let's start with the incident with Heliopolis, shall we?"

Nicol was more than interested in what information Tyler could give them about events they didn't know. There were questions Nicol had about things that had never gotten answers as to how they occurred. "By all means, I would like to know more about that event," Nicol remarked.

Tyler inclined his head, "Well, let me begin with a question," he started, "Ever wonder why Creuset was sent there to investigate the colony?"

Yzak gritted his teeth, "Because the Earth Forces were building their mobile suits there, of course," he snarled.

Tyler shrugged, "We know that now, but that's not what ZAFT intelligence had on the colony when Creuset was assigned. All they had were rumors the Alliance "may" be doing something at Heliopolis and little else." Nicol knew that Tyler was right with the intelligence report on the mission, it had been based on rumors. That had bugged Nicol as the commander clearly knew more than that, he also had pictures of the prototypes too. "Yes, that is what the intel report said, which left holes in how we were given more than that," Nicol mused. Tyler picked up right after Nicol had said that, "Indeed, that is a pointed question. How did your commander have photos of OMNI's project when the ZAFT intel didn't? Logically, one possibility makes sense with the facts as they are. Creuset got the photos from a different source than ZAFT intelligence. The Federation wouldn't do anything to help the masked man other than put him in cuffs and put him on trial. Thus, he got the photos from someone in OMNI, and it makes the most sense in the end."

Yzak didn't believe a thing that this guy was saying. He was implying Commander Creuset was a traitor and working with the enemy. The commander's service record showed he was loyal to ZAFT, so he wouldn't work with the Earth Forces. "That's crap, you just hate the Commander," Yzak growled.

Tyler shook his head, "If ZAFT intel had the images, then why would the Supreme Council be shocked to learn about them? Athrun can vouch that they had no idea the prototypes existed during the meeting about Heliopolis." Tyler sighed, "Creuset knew about them before getting to Heliopolis, there is no doubt about that. And I point such out for a reason which you might see as this goes on." Tyler paused for a moment before continuing, "Let's move on to the battle with the Eighth Orbital. I will say the battles before it were problematic, mostly since all but two took place in Federation territory. However, I'm highlighting details that show the point I'm making. Did it not surprise you ZAFT sent not just a champion to deal with the Eighth Orbital, which would be fairly strange in itself, but their best currently?"

Dearka nodded, "Yeah seemed like serious overkill to have the Black Zephyr deal with the Archangel and the Eighth Orbital. But none questioned the point at the time," Dearka commented pensively. Nicol agreed with Dearka's comment, for Treize to send out Commander Clyne was beyond odd. "Indeed, it didn't make logical sense," Nicol said. Yzak growled again, "What does it matter?!"

Tyler looked at Athrun and pointed to Yzak, "He doesn't like things logically explained to him, does he?" Athrun nodded, "That's certainly one way to put it, one I can't really argue with." Tyler returned his gaze to Yzak, "Did it ever occur to you that she was sent for another purpose beyond dealing with the Eighth Orbital?" Yzak said nothing in reply to Tyler's question as he didn't have a good one. So, he kept going, "I would bet you a serious amount of currency she was there to rein in Creuset and finish the job he was making a mess of. Please provide evidence to the contrary if you wish to argue that."

Nicol was considering the idea Tyler suggested, and it made far more sense than Commander Clyne being dispatched for an Orbital Fleet. From what Nicol had heard, Commander Clyne would be tapped to get another back in line, and he believed it. And with the messes which had been happening before that, Admiral Treize would need to handle things proficiently. "That would make sense to me, more than her being sent out to deal with the legged ship," he remarked. "She did seem more irritated with Commander Creuset than I would expect her to be."

Tyler snorted, "Yeah, doubt she wanted to deal with Creuset. Apparently, from what I've heard, she has previous experience, and I can sympathize with the frustration. My experience dealing with him has proven the detest is warranted. However, at that point, when the Federation stepped in, did you not wonder why?" Nicol nodded, "Yes, the Federation interceding had suggested they had an interest." Tyler shook his head, "We were handling the issue Creuset had created attacking Heliopolis. The Federation was working to prevent mobile suits from getting to the Alliance. But thanks to ZAFT's efforts, they managed to get them anyway, and it has been causing problems since, as we all know."

Nicol frowned, "I see, ZAFT made the problem worse rather than better." Tyler didn't answer that immediately, but a moment later, "While that is true, that isn't the point I'm making in this. So, let me give you four other pieces of evidence to show my point to help you see Athrun has made the right choices. And perhaps, I'll even help you see the truth of what is happening with the war that never gets talked about." None said anything, so Tyler kept going, "The next piece I would bring up is the battle just outside of Orb in which ZAFT tried to sink the Archangel. Did any of you wonder how Creuset, the mission commander, knew where the ship was? It was traveling out of normal shipping lanes by a sizable margin. The Archangel was in Federation territory, which ZAFT had no business watching or fighting in it. And ZAFT intel didn't have any info on the ship after it left the Republic. So, Creuset had to get information telling the intended path the Archangel was taking. Once again, the Alliance is pretty much the only place he could get it from, as they knew."

Yzak was growling and grunting, seeming to have no words to respond to what was being said and implied. Dearka also was caused to think about the point as it had been strange that the commander had known where their prey would be. He'd heard the other two sub captains had been muttering Creuset was taking them on a wild goose chase with no information to go on. However, Nicol was the first to speak, "Yes, I recall some of Carpentaria's officers pushing back on the Commander when he insisted the legged ship would be where he said. I found it odd he was so convinced it would be there when no intel agreed with him. But I didn't give it much thought until now where he could've gotten intel which gave him the surety."

Tyler waved a hand, "Indeed, Creuset seems to know far more than he should and doesn't tell others unless it benefits him. But I'll get back to that in a bit, in this battle, Athrun got a medal for "honor and valor" for killing a "hard" opponent. He nearly killed me while trying to do the same to a friend we share. And while I know war has soldiers doing horrible things, pitting friend against friend and think nothing of it is wrong. If that doesn't show the war's direction, then there is little else that can do better." Tyler sighed, "Yet, let's continue on to the next piece of evidence I got. ZAFT's Operation Spitbreak is where I will go as there are some things about it which show changes that Athrun took into account."

Yzak regained the use of his voice at the mention of Spitbreak, "Athrun wasn't there! And ZAFT whipped the Earth Forces there, so there's nothing to get into!"

Tyler shook his head, "You keep glaring at the surface of things and not beyond that." Tyler paused for a moment, "Did it shock you that so little of OMNI's forces were defending the base?"

Nicol put a hand to his chin, "It was assumed to be due to most of their forces being sent to protect Panama. But with you bringing it up, I guess there was another reason?"

Tyler nodded, "Those you "whipped" were made up of Eurasian forces, not any Atlantic Federation soldiers or vessels. All the latter were evacuated before the battle began, so they were a long way away by the time ZAFT got to the base. That would only happen if they knew the time ZAFT's operation was taking place and its true target. Such would also explain how a cyclops system was in place to wipe out what ZAFT forces it could. The only way they could be prepared so well to use the opportunity is someone in ZAFT gave it to them." Tyler gained an annoyed expression which both Nicol and Athrun noticed. "And wouldn't you know, guess who was there and was conspicuously absent when things went south?"

Athrun frowned slightly, knowing the answer that Tyler was waiting for. He was referring to Commander Creuset as he had been pointing towards already. Tyler showed how he was convinced Creuset was a traitor and, as he put it, a rat. And honestly, Athrun had to admit Tyler was doing a great job at portraying Creuset as a rat as it was hard to argue with. "It was commander Creuset," Athrun said simply.

Tyler swung an arm in a swishing motion, "Yes indeedily," Tyler acknowledged. "And from what I've been told, the man already seemed to know the Alliance had set a trap for ZAFT. Yet, do correct me should I be wrong, but he didn't say a thing to anyone else in ZAFT, did he?" Tyler waited for any to contradict him, pausing in his explanation to allow the chance. Nicol thought back to Spitbreak and couldn't think of any mentioning of the commander warning about potential Alliance traps. And if Creuset knew about the cyclops system, then he's not saying anything didn't reflect the commander well. "No, your warning was the first mention of any form of a trap the Alliance set for us," Nicol answered evenly. Tyler tilted his head, "Really, then tell me, in ZAFT, if one doesn't warn another about the danger they know about, is that acceptable? It is very much frowned down upon in the Federation as it is treated as essentially second or third-degree murder."

Athrun sighed, "It is seen very similar in ZAFT, but some get away with it as they have connections." Tyler twisted to gaze at Athrun, "You don't say, so Creuset has likely been setting up things to get others he doesn't like killed. That's good to note in the future, the masked man is as dangerous to those who are supposed to be allies as enemies. But back to what I was getting at with ZAFT's Spitbreak, as there is a point for bringing it up. Does that not seem suspicious with Creuset knowing about the Alliance's setup and Spitbreak's real target? Evidence and circumstance would strongly imply he is the one that gave the info to the Alliance ahead of time enough for them to set up JOSH-A. That certainly seems to me the signs and actions of a dirty rat rather than a soldier."

Nicol had put together what Tyler was implying, and while he didn't like it at all, he couldn't deny the mounting evidence. The Commander's actions had been odd, and the information he had that ZAFT didn't seem like Alliance intel. But it was a sizable step from that to betraying ZAFT and a further step to be playing both sides. And if it was true, Creuset had been trusted with sensitive information that would hurt ZAFT and the homeland if the Alliance got it. While Yzak denied what had been said, Nicol's face fell, "The evidence you've given is very convincing, I'll admit. I don't want them to be true, but I can't find much to argue the point with either."

Tyler shook his head, "I'm not done, and sorry to say, it will only get worse as I keep going." Tyler took a breath, "Let's move on to Athrun, going back to the PLANTs and receiving his mission that brought him back to Earth." His expression became irritated, "From Athrun's explanation, he was to recapture the Freedom or destroy it, which I understand even if I don't agree with it. The other part of his mission is where the plot goes bad and really shows the state of ZAFT's leadership. That part was to deal with the places and people the Freedom could've come in contact with. The logistics of that alone are nuts as it would expect Athrun to murder countless innocent people and take on two bases that ZAFT's full lunar fleet would fail to overcome. And Athrun was expected to die trying to do something so crazy and stupid, ordered by ZAFT's current Chairman. Any of you tell me if you are willing to take a suicide mission that will screw over everything you vowed to protect."

There was silence from Athrun's former comrades, and Athrun didn't blame them. His mission given by the Chairman was nothing but a death wish and a sentence for ZAFT. Tyler had laid it out what the results would be should Athrun succeed in any way or degree. "As the mission would put the homeland in danger and make ZAFT the target of the Federation, I couldn't do what I was ordered," Athrun remarked.

Nicol looked at Athrun soberly with what he'd just added to the explanation. Nicol had felt something had been off with whatever Athrun had been assigned. The way he'd talked about the mission had clearly said it was something he didn't agree with. And if it would put the PLANTs in danger and force ZAFT into fighting the Federation, then the mission shouldn't be done. The only reason Nicol could think of for such a thing to be ordered was the device that gave the Justice and the Freedom nuclear power. If such a device got into the hands of the Alliance, then they would use it to make nukes to fire at the PLANTs. "That certainly is extreme, even if it is to prevent the Alliance from getting nuclear technology back," Nicol remarked. "I can't see the National Defense Committee approving that mission as you stated it as."

Tyler hesitated for a moment as the Information Network said the committee hadn't approved the mission as Athrun had gotten it. According to informants, the mission brief had been rather different, which the committee got to see and approved. "They didn't see the same mission brief and objective as Athrun got from the Chairman, they got a different one for the idea," Tyler said. Athrun gazed at Tyler with surprise; this was the first he'd heard that. He just assumed the Defense Committee got the same brief he did as they were supposed to approve it before they were handed out. "I assume somehow the Federation got that information through their network?"

Tyler nodded, "Pretty much, yes," he returned. "However, the point is that should Athrun have completed any part of his mission by some miracle, ZAFT would be screwed. And you've seen how the Alliance is doing against the Federation, so I doubt ZAFT would do all that much better. But let me get to my final piece of evidence to sum up, things. Athrun has been helping defend innocent lives, much as ZAFT used to claim they did. He hasn't done anything to compromise ZAFT or the PLANTs. If anything, he has been helping them with assisting the Federation since ZAFT is doing little different than OMNI." Tyler paused, "I leave you with a final thought, with what I've told you about Creuset, ponder this. Do you think him being here at the same time as Alliance forces is a coincidence? In my view, it wasn't an accident but planned so Creuset could either get or give information from the Alliance." Tyler folded his arms and was quiet, properly defending his friend from the one who had accused him.

While Athrun hadn't asked for it, Tyler had defended him better than Athrun had been doing for himself. Yzak hadn't been giving him the chance to counter, but Tyler hadn't let Yzak do that to him. Once again, Athrun questioned how he had a friend like Tyler when he had done little to deserve him. Yet, Nicol's voice drew back Athrun's attention, "It's rather hard to argue what evidence you have provided. It also fills in holes that have bothered me before now though it doesn't comfort me much. Yet, I would ask, what do you believe Commander Creuset did here?"

Tyler frowned as he didn't like his guess and hoped he was dead wrong. However, the guess would fit with what Creuset had done thus far. So, Tyler exhaled, "Frankly, I hope I'm wrong, though in this kind of thing, I rarely am. But I fear Creuset may have given information to get the Alliance here so he could give them something." As Tyler hesitated, Athrun spoke, "What could he give them which would be so valuable that he would risk being exposed?" Tyler's eyes closed, "Specs for Neutron Jammer Cancellers," he replied simply. Athrun was horrified at Tyler's answer as it would not just make the war worse, it would plunge it into a horrible spiral.

Nicol blinked at the mention of a neutron jammer canceller as he'd never heard about such a thing before. The name strongly implied it was the device needed to allow nuclear technology to be usable again. And if the Alliance had it as Tyler implied, nuclear weapons wouldn't take long to appear and be employed. The n-jammers had been invented and deployed to prevent a nuclear war from coming. But it seemed they had only delayed the idea from being shouldered by the human race. However, if Commander Creuset were a traitor, as Tyler had been trying to show, giving the Alliance nuclear weapons would be more than possible. "I fear that you are possibly right," Nicol admitted getting all but Tyler to gain expressions of shock at his statement. "And should it be true, it won't be long before nuclear weapons come to the war. We may see something worse than the Bloody Valentine, which truly scares me."

Tyler moved on from the group and resumed his search for Kira before it had been interrupted for the second time. He wanted Kira to spill the beans about what happened inside the colony involving Creuset. Something in Tyler told him whatever occurred was important and was affecting Kira. And with how Kira was, he wouldn't talk about what was bothering him unless pressed, normally by Tyler or Athrun. Kira might open to Lacus, but Tyler doubted it for the time being. The two were making some progress in their relationship, but it wasn't far enough along to open up about heavy subjects. So if it fell to Tyler or Athrun to get Kira to unload and Athrun seemed busy, Tyler was lucky to get the job. It wasn't like Tyler minded listening to Kira's issues, and it was that he didn't unload unless he was prodded to do so. Then, Tyler would guess Kira was blaming himself for the Flay girl being captured by the Dominion. The ship had gotten away before they could focus on taking it down, so none could've effectively helped Flay at the time.

It took some time for Tyler to find Kira to get him to talk, enough time it surprised Tyler. Kira wasn't the best at hiding, though he could do it when he really tried. Tyler was seen as the expert at vanishing between him and his two best friends, none of them really argued that. Still, Tyler found Kira in the upper lounge of the spaceport, looking out over the docking area. Lacus was there as well, and from what Tyler could see, she was trying to coax Kira into talking to her. While Tyler didn't want to interrupt the two, he also wanted Kira to tell him what had happened. So, he was at odds with what he should do with the scene he was watching.

Lacus had been doing what she could once she'd found Kira to get him to talk to her. Something was bothering him, but she couldn't get anything beyond him telling her he didn't want to talk about it. Everything she tried to convince Kira to open up about had failed, and she was running out of options she could come up with. Lacus was worried about Kira for several reasons as of late. The battles had been taking a toll on him, and she could tell just like they were on her. This last one where Flay had appeared had shaken Kira as he'd tried to save Flay and failed. Something had happened before the last fight that had hurt Kira, but she couldn't tell what. And with Kira in the state he was, she couldn't help but worry about him.

Tyler was taking in the room and found it wasn't changing, nor was it helping in getting things to move along. So he cleared his throat, drawing attention to him and his presence, "While I can understand you two having a moment of some sort, I would suggest you do such in a more private place." Lacus was looking between Tyler and Kira before she blushed heavily at the implications. Granted, Lacus would like a close relationship with Kira, sooner rather than later, at some point in the future. But of course, Kira had been oblivious to Lacus's hints she sent him about how she felt with him. Tyler kept going, "However, I did have a question or two for Kira, and I'm free to ask."

Kira looked up at Tyler, unaware he had signs that he'd been crying at the memories of what Creuset had said. Tyler could see Kira was in a bad state, so he glanced over at Lacus, "Sorry to ask you, Lacus, but do you mind giving us some time." Tyler hesitated, "I'll fetch you once things are better, I promise." Lacus hesitated for a moment, not wanting to leave while Kira was in his state. And it wasn't that she thought Tyler wouldn't be able to help Kira, their friendship was stronger than most she'd seen. So, after a moment, Lacus left the room but didn't go too far from the room to wait for Tyler to get her. Tyler turned back to Kira and closed the distance between him and Kira. It was odd that Tyler would have to comfort Kira as he was the one that normally did that for the trio. Tyler leaned on the railing of the lounge, "You need a moment to gather yourself, Kira," he asked gently. Kira took a moment to calm himself down a margin and nodded for Tyler to go ahead. "What happened inside Mendel, Kira? Something has clearly gotten to you and is bothering you to the point that it is hurting you."

Kira didn't say anything immediately to the question even though Tyler was more right than he could know. He knew that Tyler was trying to help by getting Kira to talk, it was something he would do from time to time. For all of Tyler's qualities, both good and flawed, he was a good listener when it helped the most. And perhaps, Tyler could help explain what was confusing Kira so. With him seeming to know odd facts, maybe he would know about what Creuset had been talking about. Thus, Kira took a deep breath before he began, "I went in to check on everyone and found the Strike First around the largest structures. I checked the Strike, and Mu wasn't inside, so I ventured inside the complex." The description of the complex Kira gave had Tyler guessing he had been in one of the medical facilities. It had been one of the colony's main purposes and was funded for as far as Tyler knew.

Tyler had heard the rumors about some things which had occurred at Mendel, and most weren't pleasant to hear or think about. There had been "crimes" committed there though it wasn't on official records for the public could read about. With the access Tyler's military creds gave, he had gotten to read the non-public information there was on Mendel. What Tyler had glanced over when he'd taken the time had sickened him. The experiments done at the colony by some were not just ethically wrong but also were seen as criminal by standing international law. After reading them more than a year ago, he hadn't thought much about the details. But as Kira described a room that sounded like a genetic laboratory, Tyler paid more attention. From what was being said, it was the place the artificial womb was created. That would mean Kira had unknowingly walked into the infamous laboratory of Dr. Hibiki.

Dr. Hibiki was the most known scientist who worked at the Mendel colony. He was also suspected and connected to many of the crimes committed at Mendel that the public never knew about. From what Tyler recalled, the man had been obsessed with something he wanted, which the records iterated in "odd" terms. Tyler remembered reading the man's obsession had consumed him to the extent it was the reason his life ended. Or at least, the man's work had drawn the ire of those like Blue Cosmos who had killed him and the rest in the colony. Tyler knew of the man because his father had been acquainted with him as a fellow scientist. From what Tyler remembered, his father had said something to the effect that Ulen Hibiki had been letting his obsession blind him and make him into some kind of monster. Still, Tyler continued to listen to Kira's tale without interrupting him. Kira kept going with how it seemed Creuset had something in mind for Mu which Kira stumbled upon.

Kira talked about how Creuset strung the two along further into the medical complex. Creuset did so by posing questions and throwing out implications. Some of the things Kira said annoyed Tyler as it made clear Creuset had an interest in Kira, quickly becoming an obsession. Tyler didn't like Creuset's interest with Kira, not with how troublesome the guy was. And Tyler had seen worrisome signs that Creuset had been targeting Kira for his own interest. Kira mentioned seeing Dr. Hibiki's nameplate, which had caused him confusion. Creuset had mentioned a relationship between the doctor and Kira, which didn't make much sense to Tyler. Hibiki was condemned for portions of his work in genetics or rather his methods which were seen as criminal. However, Kira seemed to know of the name, but Tyler couldn't say why he would. Most of the reports on the man weren't public, and Kira's parents weren't in the group that would know of Hibiki. Nevertheless, Kira saying that Creuset claimed Kira had been born at Mendel was odd.

It was clear that Kira had been affected by Creuset's words and the implications of the connection between Kira and Hibiki. There was the possibility that Kira was somehow related to Dr. Hibiki. The man was supposed to have offspring, but there wasn't a great deal of detail in the records. Hibiki seemed to have either hidden birth records or made sure they weren't made for others to see. So there was no record of whether he had one child or more than one or gender of any possible offspring. Thus, for all Tyler knew, Dr. Hibiki could be one of Kira's biological sires. From a photo Tyler had seen once, there had been a "Hibiki" his mother had met, and the woman had looked quite a bit like Kira. And while Kira did deserve to know who his sires were, Tyler cursed that he may have learned the facts from Creuset. But even should the Hibikis be Kira's sires, they weren't his parents. Tyler had made sure Kira understood that the Yamatos were his parents as they had raised and loved him.

That Creuset had not just told Kira was related to Dr. Hibiki more than irritated Tyler. No one should have to find out hard truths from someone with malicious intent, which was like a stab in the heart. The man wanted to do something to Kira, likely throw him off, if not more, should he be able to. It was one of many reasons that Tyler wanted to take a shot at the man. And if Tyler could use his own hands, specifically a fist, to strike and preferably beat him up, then Tyler would be ready and willing. Once this telling was done, Tyler would remind Kira who his family was so he wouldn't forget that important fact. Family got many through the hardest and darkest of times, they were an anchor.

However, As Kira got to where Creuset began to talk about a "mad dream," Tyler became more concerned. While the masked man was insane, and Tyler wouldn't argue the point, the man wasn't completely delusional. And by what Kira had been saying, Creuset seemed to know something about what had happened around Mendel. As Tyler understood, ZAFT didn't have much more than the public records and some of the basic rumors of what work went on at Mendel. The Alliance was much the same, so they wouldn't have more information than ZAFT would. So, the only means that Tyler could figure out for Creuset to know what he said was he had been around Mendel while Hibiki had worked there. Kira then mentioned the terms "Ultimate Coordinator" and "Perfect Human," which caught Tyler's attention. Those terms had been in the classified reports on Hibiki that Tyler had glanced over. It was stated they were in relation to Hibiki's work at Mendel. Some of the data which had been encrypted, which was suspected of having been written by Dr. Hibiki, and what had followed was concerning.

Hibiki's work was said to have been trying to create "something" to which the terms were referring. His obsession with making a perfect human was foolish and at the end technically impossible in the end. Tyler agreed that such a dream was impossible as it was subjective as to what perfection was to be considered. The artificial womb experiment was impressive but wasn't employed with making Coordinators. The Federation had officially denounced the artificial womb as it "crossed a line" with the creation of life. That had given the artificial womb a very bad reputation which had few wanting anything to do with it. From what Tyler had heard, Dr. Hibiki was a workaholic and continued his work even when the vast majority cursed it.

Kira was going on about the lab he and Mu went through and what he saw in there, which had made him extremely uneasy. The scene Kira described disturbed Tyler even when he expected the idea to be true. The report from the inspection teams which had searched Mendel after the bio-weapon attack had been a very hard read. Tyler had gotten close to throwing up by the time he had gotten halfway through it with what the teams had found. And it wasn't the dead people found though their condition had been beyond sickening. It was evidence of how far some had gone, including Dr. Hibiki, to advance their work/project. The bodies of children mentioned were horrifying enough, the conditions they were found in had caused Tyler to throw up at the time. It had been clear from what the teams found Hibiki and others had been mutilating children and torturing them. There was even the rumor Hibiki had cut fetuses out of wombs for his work which, if true, would be the work of a monster.

As Kira moved on to Creuset, claiming Kira was Hibiki's work, his desired result from all he had done, Tyler was left wondering. If Creuset was correct, why had Kira not been at the colony when it was poisoned? The man's obsession wouldn't have allowed Hibiki to let go of the boy as he was proof of what he wanted to show the human race. Not that Tyler was complaining that Kira was absent when the colony ended; he wouldn't have Kira as a friend if that weren't the case. But the attackers couldn't have known one of their targets was missing during their strike, or they wouldn't have used the plague they did. The bio-weapon had been a man-made plague that was meant to kill without exception or bias. That kind of thing was only used when the group deploying it wanted all in the area affected dead and left no questions as to there being no survivors.

It was interesting to Tyler that Creuset admitted he was a clone for a couple of reasons that came to mind. Clones were the one type of human which was forbidden both by international law and the rules of individual factions. It was one of the few things all three factions could agree upon. So, for any who even attempted to clone another, it was a serious crime and came with an extremely hefty punishment. What was surprising about the fact Creuset was a clone was who his donor was. Mu's father would've known just as much as any what would happen when others found out he had a clone produced. Tyler figured Hibiki had been desperate enough to do anything, even something that would screw him over, to get funding for his work. And, of course, Tyler wouldn't for a moment blame Mu for his father's decision even when it had cursed the world.

Tyler clenched his jaw when Kira transitioned onto the part where Creuset screeched the war would continue. While the Human race wasn't perfect with the history it had, the race hadn't found its way to extinction. It had gotten close a select few times in its history but never went beyond salvation. And while the threat of nuclear technology was pushing humanity to the edge again, it hadn't gone over it. Tyler still had faith that humanity could save itself from the destructive path it was on. The speech his mother gave showed there was still hope for a future the human race could have. And when Kira had mentioned Creuset, his mother, by name and claimed Ellen would fail, Tyler wanted to slug the masked man in the face hard. The next time he saw or was around the man, he would make him squirm and suffer for his troublemaking, Tyler would swear it. Kira summed up the finish of the encounter with Creuset running and Kira helping Mu get back to his mobile suit.

After going over what had happened inside Mendel, Kira went silent, waiting for what Tyler would say. The recent experience with Creuset had shaken Kira with some of the revelations that had come from it. Kira didn't know what to think about the things which had been said as they were so foreign to him. He was hoping Tyler could help clarify so that Kira could understand things. Tyler could see Kira was waiting for him to say something about the tale he'd told. Tyler exhaled heavily, "Let me say first, don't let that rat Creuset get to you. He was undoubtedly trying to get into your head and mess with you." Tyler folded his arms, "The dirty rat needs to have a permanent leash attached to him, preferably with a choke collar at the very least. If I had my way, the man would be shackled and heading for a life in prison away from the rest of the human race."

Tyler thought about how to go through the information Kira had given about what occurred in Mendel. He wanted to address each major point Kira had brought up with his tale properly to help Kira understand. "While I would normally say Creuset is a sociopathic liar since he fits that definition most of the time, I'm not as sure in this instance. It is possible he was telling the truth as something he said would match facts that the public doesn't know. And with him trying to get a reaction out of you for whatever interest he, unfortunately, has with you."

Kira sighed, "But I can't recall ever being to Mendel before now," Kira stated. "I've only heard of the name and that it was some research colony."

Tyler hesitated for a moment, "Mendel started out as a research colony when it was built, as far as I know. That changed before it became as it is now, but that is another story which I can get to in a bit." Tyler waved a hand, "The general facts which are available to the public would tell you a group called GARM R&D took up residence in the colony. They do research and work to advance genetic science though not as much as the group is less present in the world of today." Kira picked up the emphasis on "public" Tyler used when talking about facts on Mendel. That implied there were non-public records on Mendel, which could shed more light on what happened. "So, are there records the public doesn't see about Mendel," Kira asked.

Tyler paused at the question not because he didn't know the answer but because of the implications. The mission report from the investigation teams was classified for a reason. Tyler felt it was because of what had been found along with the bioagent used on the colony. "I can't tell you all the specifics about what went on that was discovered. And it isn't because I don't want to, the info is classified, so I'm not permitted to say it without specific permission. But I will tell you what I can, even if in vague terms," Tyler assured. "There are rumors that unethical things happened at Mendel, and they aren't exactly wrong. The one you mentioned, Hibiki appeared to be in the middle of the crap with the evidence there is. I wouldn't deny the man was brilliant with genetic stuff, probably the foremost of the current century. However, he supposedly had an obsession that got the better of him or at least blinded him. I can't go into much more detail than about what Hibiki assumedly did due to protocol."

Tyler let out a sigh at how classified information prevented him from telling Kira more than he already had. Tyler wanted to give Kira what he knew, but it may not help in the long run. Instead, Tyler decided to change the subject to the other thing he wanted to talk about with Kira. "However, Kira, I'm appalled you listened to that rat enough you were questioning who your parents are. We've already had a conversation about this, and I thought it would be the end." Tyler jabbed a finger at Kira, "I've told you your parents are those who raised and love you, don't you dare forget that." Kira's gaze fell to the floor as Tyler kept going, "You listen to me, Kira Yamato, your parents, are Haruma and Caridad Yamato. Those two cared for and loved you as if you were their own son. You are not to listen to anything any other says to the contrary as they are trying to mess with you." Tyler exhaled, "We don't get to choose our sires. The world can be cruel, not giving us a choice in that respect. Yet, we can decide who we consider our parents to be, and no one else gets to make a choice for us, you got that?"

It was much the same subject matter that Tyler had given Kira when the conversation about parents and adoption came up. He had stated the difference between "sires" and "parents," making it clear there was a distinction. Kira hadn't forgotten that conversation as it was one of the memorable ones. It had been one of the few Kira had with Tyler which involved a "life's lesson." Kira smiled a bit at what Tyler had said, "Of course, you would bring that up again. You are still right, and I'm sorry it slipped my mind when I needed it the most," Kira admitted. "But do you have more information on what's meant by 'Ultimate Coordinator' and 'Perfect Human' that Creuset mentioned?"

Tyler thought about how he could answer as the terms were ones he'd read in the data extracted from Mendel. It reminded him of what Hibiki had done and had so sickened Tyler. But the man's crimes weren't on official public records due to their nature. If the man were alive, he would be arrested and imprisoned for his work. Kira could see that Tyler was thinking about what he could say, which said to Kira the info wasn't good in some way. Tyler put a hand to his chin, "To be honest, there are things I can say and things I can't say about Hibiki, as I said. The terms you asked about did come up in what I read on the man several times, even in his encrypted files." Tyler paused for a moment, "From what I could surmise, the terms were involved in his work. I believe he referred to the results he wanted from the project he was doing, but I don't know. Truthfully, the use of ultimate and perfect are some since they are subjective. What could be defined as they differ between individual views. What one views as perfect could be just ordinary to another."

Kira nodded at Tyler's explanation as it gave some idea of what Creuset had been referring to. And it also sounded like there was more information, but due to some with the Federation's decision, Tyler couldn't say more. Kira didn't like the idea of him potentially being the "result" of horrible work, which Tyler implied was. Then Kira didn't know what to think about Creuset being a clone. As far as Kira knew, the production of clones was forbidden and was seriously punished. "Creuset being a clone is kind of surprising," Kira remarked. "Clone production is a crime, isn't it?"

Tyler nodded, "Indeed it is, Kira," he replied, "Making a clone is against international law, and each faction has its own set of consequences for such actions. And while Creuset is a troublemaker, I can't say if his claim of being a clone is true or not. I'm more curious that Mr. Da Flaga was willing to commit a crime for whatever reason he had. But I suppose it doesn't matter in the end as Da Flaga and Hibiki are dead and gone."

While what Tyler said about Mu's father and Dr. Hibiki being dead was correct, it didn't settle Kira's mind. There were still questions in Kira's mind about Hibiki and how he related to Kira. Then Kira had only heard Mendel had some sort of accident happen to end out uninhabitable. Supposedly, the accident had struck so quickly that the population didn't have the time to escape. However, Kira hadn't seen any evidence of the event which could've killed the colony's population. There was still some plant life, minimal as it was. The atmospheric systems were running enough to have breathable air throughout the interior. There were no holes in the colony walls, so there was no sign of destructive means to do harm to the colony's population. Thus, the stories of the colony's fate didn't make sense to Kira with what he had seen inside. "But how did the colony end up being like it is now," Kira asked. "From what I've heard, the colony had some sort of accident which killed the population before they could evacuate."

What Kira had said about the colony's end was the official story the public had given for what happened. Some groups, including Blue Cosmos, had pushed the claim as the truth. The Federation's Admiralty had decided it was best the truth of Mendel's fate not be revealed to the public. And what really occurred to Mendel was horrible since it was slaughtered via a lethal pathogen. From what Tyler had read, the expressions on the dead had shown suffering before death, according to the investigation team. Tyler sighed, "Yes, that is what historical accounts would state for Mendel's end." Tyler paused, "However, that isn't exactly what occurred in there." He took a deep breath, "Technically, what happened was no accident, the population was slaughtered before they could get out of the colony interior." Kira blinked at being told the colony's population had been killed and not through an accident. But Tyler continued, "It was done with a biological weapon, a nasty man-made plague with the purpose of wiping out all it came in contact with. It was released through the atmospheric systems into the colony, so there was no way to stop it. So, whoever put it into the colony meant to kill everyone inside, no questions about that."

It was horrifying to imagine what Tyler described happened to Mendel's population. If a biological weapon were used, Kira would question why any would do so. Biological weapons were banned from use after the Reconstruction War by the Mitus Accord. The accord stated in no uncertain terms that such weapons were forbidden and could be used to take down groups. So, for a group to have done what Tyler was saying got Kira wondering if the Federation didn't know who destroyed Mendel. Then, Kira was still left to deal with having a sire who did sickening things to make a "perfect" result. With what Tyler said about Dr. Hibiki, Kira didn't want to be related to the man at all. Yet, when Tyler pulled him into a hug, Kira was pulled out of his thoughts. "Kira, I've said it before, and I'll say it again," Tyler began, "you are who you choose to be. No one else can change that any more than what kind of human you are. Our choices determine who we are, not the blood that runs in our veins." Once Kira was consoled, Tyler and he headed for the door to the lounge.

Lacus hadn't moved away from the corridor she was in outside of the observation lounge. She wouldn't go anywhere until she made sure Kira would be alright. She also preferred to know what was causing him such grief, but Lacus could wait to learn that. Lacus had heard nothing from where she was on what Tyler or Kira were saying to each other. While she knew Tyler would possibly be able to help Kira with whatever was bothering him, she didn't like standing and doing nothing. And Lacus felt Tyler wouldn't give much if any detail on what Kira's problem was should she ask. They and Athrun were tight-knitted friends and confided in one another before others. However, when the door Lacus had been staring at finally opened, her attention locked onto the two that came out.

Kira appeared much better than when Lacus left the room, which gave her hope that he was doing better. Tyler bowed to Lacus getting her to face him, "My apologies for our conversation taking so long, Lacus. But I believe we settled things enough that it should be okay going forward," Tyler stated, glancing at Kira, who nodded. "Should Kira want to tell you about the subject, he is free to, but please don't force it." Tyler looked at the watch he had on his left wrist, "Now, sorry to cut and run, but I have a report to write. And I need to put in effort for it, or I will be forced to regret it by the one I am to write it for. And I want to avoid facing them again soon if there is a way to do so."

Lacus and Kira gazed at Tyler, confused as to what he was talking about. Both understood that as a Federation's military member, Tyler would need to submit reports for tasks assigned to him. But with what Tyler said, it sounded like the report he would write was no ordinary. Kira was the first to speak up, "Write a report for what, Tye," he asked. "You haven't been on any missions that you've mentioned." Neither Kira nor Lacus missed Tyler, visibly flinching at the question. Tyler chuckled nervously, "Oh, well," Tyler started, "It's not a report as much as a justification I'm making in defense for recent actions."

Kira had no idea what Tyler was referring to when he said "recent actions" since he had been around her for close to a week. However, Lacus thought for a moment and came to the conclusion Tyler was talking about helping her. Yet that didn't make sense as Tyler had been with others extracting her from Aprilius One. So why would Tyler be in trouble for doing that? "This report has something to do with helping me get away from the PLANTs, doesn't it," Lacus questioned. Tyler frowned and hesitated at the inquiry. The girl wasn't wrong, nor was she completely right, as there was what happened with the Dominion he was also to explain to his boss. Tyler ended out sighing, "That's one thing which the report will be about, but not the only thing, yes."

"But why would you be in some kind of trouble for helping me," Lacus asked. "You were there with others to extract me, that was the task the Federation's military gave you, right?" Kira stared at Lacus as she hadn't said much about her leaving the PLANTs other than getting help from others, including Tyler. She had implied there had been some difficulties before Tyler and others with him had arrived, but little else. Kira glanced at Tyler and was surprised to find his friend was looking at the floor. "While I was there," Tyler hesitated, "I was never technically assigned to the mission to get you out, Lacus. Thus, me being there was a defiance of orders, even if it was for the best of intentions. My boss," Tyler paused again, "Well, they called me out on doing it." Tyler stopped once more, "My report is to explain my actions and how I justify what I did. I'm also relieved of duty for a week, no military stuff, so I'll be finding things for myself to do. But you don't need to worry, and it isn't the first time I've had to say why I did something and defend my decision."

Lacus wasn't pleased, nor did she like Tyler was being punished for helping her get away from those who had been assaulting her. Tyler had been keeping his promise to her, and he shouldn't be faulted for that regardless of what he was expected to do. Tyler turned to head off, but Lacus moved forward and stopped him, "Where is this boss of yours? I want a word with them," Lacus stated firmly.

Tyler stared at Lacus with a mix of amazement and disbelief at what she said. He knew talking to Admiral Raine wasn't a pleasant experience, and most were lucky they didn't have to do it. The woman wasn't very understanding to people telling her what to do or think. It was similar to Sakura's reputation, which Tyler never saw himself. Tyler gained a worried expression and waved a hand dismissively, "Don't worry, Lacus, things are fine," he assured. "There is no need nor reason for you to talk to the one I report to. It's not the first report I've written for her, and I just need to make it a good one, and everything will be good." Lacus glaring at him stopped Tyler from saying more, "I will speak to this woman you are referring to, Tye. I have choice words for her about punishing you for helping another." Tyler shook his head, "Lacus, I'm telling you, don't go trying to tell my boss what to do. She ain't one to take that kind of thing well. Really, she has a reputation for shutting up those who try and making them regret the attempt. I don't want you to get hurt-" Lacus wasn't afraid of the woman Tyler was talking about. Being around Sakura ensured Lacus could hold her own against others who intimidated people. She would tell this boss of Tyler's and say to them they were in the wrong for punishing them. So, Lacus cut over Tyler again, "There is nothing you can say to stop me, Tye."

Tyler wanted to convince Lacus not to talk to Admiral Raine since he didn't see that ending well. However, Kira spoke before Tyler could make any other attempt to dissuade Lacus from her intentions. "Tye, you won't be able to stop Lacus," Kira stated, knowing Lacus would be stubborn in this. Tyler stared at Kira for a moment, trying to glare at his friend for siding with Lacus rather than him. Tyler knew Kira was right, which was surprising as his naivete should've prevented the guy from seeing Lacus's determination as it was. After a moment, Tyler let out a frustrated exhale, "Fine," he admitted, "Since it seems my attempt to help is being ignored, should we pass her as I had in the direction of the Eternal, I'll point her out."

Tyler headed through the port facilities, Lacus and Kira following behind him. He was praying he was lucky enough not to see his boss. Tyler hoped Admiral Raine was keeping herself busy with things and not "making the rounds" at this time. Tyler would be happy if he could avoid having Lacus facing his boss. Yet, as Tyler's group entered the main boarding lounge, he saw his luck wouldn't hold for him. As he feared, Tyler's boss was making rounds in the form of talking to Cagalli and Kisaka about something. Tyler's head fell, "Damn it, lady luck apparently hates me today," he cursed softly. Kira and Lacus heard Tyler's muttered curse even if others didn't. Tyler kept going staying quiet to hopefully not draw attention from his boss. That was the only chance he had to help Lacus not face Admiral Raine Tyler still had.

Angelia was talking with the Kusanagi's commanding officers to get their account of what had happened around Mendel. It was part of her gathering information from allies on site to figure out where things stood. They had also told her about the Alliance's attempt to take Orb from its proper owners. The reports Angelia had read about the attacks on the member nations hadn't been nice. However, OMNI had been repelled, with some sacrificing their lives, which was important. The lives given would be honored for their efforts to keep the Federation's citizens and territories safe. She was wrapping up the conversation and would move on to talking with the Archangel's officers but paused. She paused because she caught sight of McGregor, appearing to be sneaking along, trying to avoid notice. The teen was supposed to be writing a report for her, ready by 1500 tomorrow. Yet, it looked like he needed a reminder to get to the punishment he had been asking for. "McGregor," Angelia barked.

Tyler stiffened, knowing he was screwed and any chance of saving Lacus from facing his boss was gone. He had tried to protect his friend from the potential wrath of Admiral Raine but failed. So, Tyler slowly turned to give his boss the attention he knew she would expect from him. "Yes, ma'am," Tyler replied with nervous tones. Tyler knew he should've gone and gotten down to writing the report he was to give to his boss after meeting with her. But he couldn't let Athrun get ripped a new one and not step in for him as his friend. And Tyler had to find Kira and cheer him up, or he couldn't live with himself. Tyler fully intended to get to work writing the report after helping Kira, and he wouldn't sleep until it was done and turned in. "Your report is still due at 1500 tomorrow," Angelia stated, folding her arms as she stared balefully at him. "You will not be getting an extension for getting sidetracked or distracted, McGregor." Tyler saluted out of habit with his boss, "I was just heading to write the report you asked for, boss," he returned. "I'm not dumb enough to goof off when you give me something to do. Rest assured, you will have the report to read before the deadline comes."

Kira had never seen Tyler so uptight around anyone, even his mother, and Tyler behaved well with her. Tyler was normally easy-going with most and seemed not to have a care-in-the-world type of attitude. He was stubborn at times when others pushed him to do things he didn't choose to. So to see him all stiff and formal was more than odd for Kira as it was so out of place. However, Lacus focused on the woman that was talking to Tyler. The woman spoke to Tyler as if she "owned" him or could order him around. Tyler didn't take orders from pretty much anyone, and he'd proven that while on the Archangel. Then he had referred to the woman as "boss," meaning she was the one who was punishing Tyler for helping Lacus. "Hold it," Lacus snapped loudly, drawing attention to her. "Tyler shouldn't be punished for his actions, he has done nothing but helps people, and that is right."

Angelia looked at the girl who had spoken and found she was a teenager with pink hair. That feature strongly suggested that she was the daughter of Siegel Clyne, the non-soldier one. The girl clearly didn't understand that a military group's organization and orders were necessary. Even when something was done with the best of intentions for the actions, it could compromise others and put them in trouble. McGregor going off on his own, risked the SOLAS teams' mission as it could draw attention from ZAFT. That couldn't be overlooked, so he had to face the consequences of his actions. McGregor was getting off easy, frankly, he should face worse than writing a report and being relieved of duty for a short time. "He defied orders, young lady," Angelia replied, "such can not go ignored or unpunished."

Lacus wouldn't back down to this woman, whoever she was. Tyler had risked his life to help her, and she wouldn't let another dismiss that. She wouldn't let him face punishment for her, and those had joined the cause Lacus fought for. "He went to the PLANTs to help me get away from those hunting me. His actions were done to save me, and he shouldn't face punishment for saving my life. Whether he was ordered to do so or not shouldn't be held against him," Lacus insisted.

Others in the boarding lounge had stopped what they were doing and were observing the exchange. Mu and Krystal had been heading over to find Mrs. Simmons to ask her about some things to do with their mobile suits. However, they had stopped when Tyler had been called out by the woman neither knew. The way Tyler had acted to the woman was unlike what either had seen before with the older teen. Tyler was acting like a soldier, nervous around their commander's commander coming around and talking to them. Him calling the blonde woman "boss" got Krystal and Mu to have a double take. One time, the two had overheard Tyler talk about his boss or the one he reported to and took orders from. And the tones Tyler had spoken in had made it clear he was at least was wary if not scared of them. Mu studied the blonde woman and could see some of the things Tyler could be put off and even sacred of. The air the woman put off was not just serious but one that said not to mess with her or you would regret it.

When Lacus spoke out against the blonde woman, Kyrstal had to hold Mu back from moving forward to stop the girl. She knew that Mu meant well in trying to not just stop Lacus from getting into trouble but putting himself between her and the blonde woman. Yet, Krystal could see Lacus was defending Tyler, who usually did that for others. Lacus wasn't a princess in need of protection, and she could stand on her own and should be given the opportunity. And Krystal more wondered what kind of individual the blonde woman was and what she did to have Tyler salute her and listen to orders.

Angelia regarded Lacus, demanding she let Tyler off going AWOL. It was different as most Angelia was around and didn't argue with her or question her decisions. She wasn't the head of SOLAS for nothing, as she had earned the position. Angelia had to be tough on those under her command since SOLAS had to be the best of the best to protect the Federation. Yet the girl chiding her dared to stand up to her, Angelia would admit that. It wouldn't change anything for McGregor as the girl was attempting to do. However, Angelia would give good marks for the effort even when it didn't change anything. "McGregor's intentions, while good in individualist principle, were short-sighted. They could have gotten ZAFT to turn its full force onto killing you and your father, possibly involving innocent bystanders. The rescue was planned to involve the least in it so innocent people didn't get caught in the crosshairs. McGregor put that at risk and should've left it to those assigned instead of heeding a personal wish. That is why he had been handed the consequences he has to deal with." Lacus was about to argue further, but Angelia continued, "You have fire in you, young lady, I'll give you that. I can only imagine ZAFT's Zephyr taught you to stand up for yourself against those you others don't."

The onlookers that were watching were silent with the mention of ZAFT's Champion. Most there couldn't' think of a possible connection Lacus could have to the dreaded Black Zephyr. The pink princess was too nice to be connected to ZAFT's most feared commander and pilot. However, before Lacus could keep defending Tyler, her father moved into view, "Lacus, that's enough," Siegel said.

Angelia glanced at Siegel and inclined her head to him as a sign of respect. The man had done much for the cause of peace and earned many's respect for his efforts. It was why SOLAS teams had been set for his extraction, as the human race needed those like him. "Well met, Mr. Clyne," Angelia greeted him, "It's an honor to meet you in person." She glanced back at Lacus for a moment, "It seems your daughters have a fire within them. Both your eldest with what she does and the one here."

Siegel looked at Lacus, to who the blonde woman was referring, and smiled. Lacus had been standing up for her friend who had helped her escape Patrick's goons. Siegel could understand the need for soldiers to have boundaries and follow orders an amount of time. Military leaders were to see the big picture and the goal to be worked for that the soldiers carried out. Lacus didn't understand that heroes may make the path forward in war, but soldiers did the work to help bring an end to the conflict and protect the innocent. Siegel knew that the remark about his daughter was meant as a compliment. Sakura fought on the battlefields of the war and worked towards an end. Lacus may do that too, but she also had the connection to the people who wanted the war to end. "I would like to think that kind of fire will help end the conflict," Siegel replied. He turned to face Lacus, "Lacus, you need to understand there are consequences to one's actions, and we rarely get to choose them for ourselves."

A/N

Okay, I'll leave off there for this phase and pick up there with the next phase. Now, onto the part which comes after each phase where I highlight and point out things to you about the Phase. So, as I stated in the beginning, this was taken from two sections from the original Phase 24. I'll state for the record, the said phase is split into literally the next few phases to build up to the battle which was Phase 25. That should tell you there will be changes ahead but I will not tell you about those yet. But let me get on with the highlights of the Phase instead of telling you of what is to come. First, the scene with Tyler and his boss Admiral Raine. I will say that Angelia Raine is based physically on a character from a different anime which for those who have watched it is Full Metal Alcehmist: Brotherhood. That character for those who haven't watched the anime is Olivia Armstrong, so you can look her up if you want an image.

I also want to take a moment and go into detail on Echowas as my description of it changed slightly. So, I originally set two more Lagrange points in the original story and I keep those though I change their position. Originally, they were along the moon's orbit, but I thought it could be better used above Earth's poles. They would be in a better position to react effective if something went wrong on Earth being one of the reasons I change the idea. I mentioned the base was made of asteroids before and that is the same, but I want to say the base was constructed outside the moon's orbital path and then towed in with its stealth field active. I will go into more description about the Federation military's branches later on. At this time it didn't make a great deal of sense to go into that detail, so I will do so later. But enough of the background part of this scene which has been implied before now but not directly stated.

Now, as I implied a few times before this, Tyler is scared of his boss and there are a few reasons as to why. One of those reasons is the reputation Angelia has which is similar to Sakura's, that being "mean as hell if you tick them off." She is also the leader of SOLAS which is a position which not just any can fill. There are stories about her, but I will not get into those other than saying they scare those who hear them. Next, as you readers may have picked up on, Tyler does a lot to avoid be around Admiral Raine, even more to not face her. The woman is one of those he will salute and take orders from, but it is both from respect and fear which he does that. In the scene, we get to see some of the dicotemy between the two and there are two sides to it which I didn't get into until later in the original. Angelia knows Tyler speaks his mind and will say things he should know he shouldn't. However, due to the "good work" he does for SOLAS, she gives him a chance to correct himself and say what is proper.

Next, Angelia asks/demands an explanation about Tyler going off to the PLANTs when he wasn't supposed to. Tyler knew the accounting would need to happen, and while he said he would face that, he was nervious. Facing his boss is always a unpleasant experience for Tyler if that isn't obvious. He still said he was helping Lacus without saying her name and there is a reason for that. Should Tyler mention Lacus, he could direct the ire of his boss to her and he watned to avoid that. Tyler wanted to take the punishment for what "he" did, thus why he said to his boss to hand him the punishment she would give. The two also go over what happened in the recent battle, which brings Azrael up. As stated, the Federation has a strict policy about war criminals, they are to be captured or eliminated, no exceptions. Any that refuse to do that are to resign from the Federation's mililtary, which Tyler knew and he was prepared to give his. However, Azrael is an off case with the consequences since he has slipped away from the Federation several times.

Angelia's response shows the exception that Azrael is as well as implies just how many attempts had failed against the man. I wanted it to show that the Federation while seen as firm and unmovable in its positions, there are exceptions to certain circumstances and cases. The other thing the response gives you readers a view of, is how much Tyler gets away with that others wouldn't. If I haven't made it obvious by this point, Tyler will laugh at rules and guildlines before ignoring them, or just going against them. It is one of standing issues Natarle has with Tyler as we all know. And yet, due to his good performance and skills, Angelia lets him do what he does as long as that performance doesn't go down a notable margin. She also mentions that Tyler's skills are sought after by the other branches of the Federation's military. I wanted to make it clear how valuable Tyler is to the Federation with his "unique" skills, which he isn't told about his value directly. Angelia doesn't give Tyler the impression she likes the flak she gets because of him which is why she's hard on him. That leads to the punishment Tyler gets for his trip to the PLANTs to save Lacus and the recent battle's results. Angelia knows of Tyler's proclivity to be sarcastic in his reports and write them to get a rise out of others. However, the report writing is her "slap on the wrist" for going against orders while doing the right thing. But she wants him to put in effort with the report which is why she said to make it impress her. The other part of Tyler's punishment is denial to all but the public parts of the Information Network. She knows of Tyler's reading of info from it and how often he does so. Thus, it is more the punishment for not thinking ahead and choosing his actions more carefully.

To the next scene which is the other new on in this Phase the original didn't have, which is Athrun facing his comrades. Some asked me about why would happen when Athrun faced Yzak and Nicol since I wrote the original. This is my answer to their questions which all you readers get to enjoy. So, as most would expect, Yzak is not happy with what Athrun did which is increased with his hotheaded attitude. The last time Yzak had seen Athrun was after the battle around the Marshall Islands before Athrun headed for the PLANTs. And the next time they encoutner one another Athrun is fighting with the enemy vessel they had been hunting with the Federation. Of course, Tyler comes to Athrun's defense as any would expect of his by this point in the story.

In cannon, I think an amount of us wanted Yzak to be "dressed down" about his misconceptions by someone. I don't know that amount, though I doubt it was tiny, and I was among that group. But Tyler does a fair job I would say even if I'm biased with it being my own character doing the point. Tyler also gives hints as to Creuset being the traitor and rat as he has come to know to those listening. Nicol picks up on that more than Dearka and Yzaka do, but it helps their resolve for the future battle. We also get more of an implied background work which Creuset had been doing which Tyler only hinted at before.

The second to last scene is the one between Tyler and Kira where the topic of the encounter with Creuset inside Mendel comes up. Of course, Tyler isn't happy Creuset was around and had hurt Kira ni a personal way. Previously, Tyler had talked to Kira about him being adopted and accepting those how took him in as his parents. I imply this event, I have no plan to do a flashback or writing a scene for the event, sorry for those who may want it. Tyler does tell Kira to not listen to Creuset much as Mu did for pretty much the same reason, the man is beyond untrustworthy. However, Tyler also wants to prepare Kira should he have to face the rat in the future which we know he will.

Tyler does reveal to a degree what actually happened to the Mendel colony which I say for a reason. In canon, all that is said about the end of the colony was there being a "viral outbreak," which is my public report version. I wanted the idea to be plausible with what actually happened to the colony and I think with the research going on there, a fatal pathogen being introdcued is easily possible and likely used by terrorists. Creuset was involved as he hated Hibiki and his work which is the reason he knew about it. Tyler found out from the Federation investigation reports which had the truth. However, Tyler can't tell Kira everything as the reports are classified and a few sealed which are equivalent to the US's "Top Secret" classification. I'm not implying politics, so please don't ask about Trump or what he is doing. Back to my point, Tyler tells Kira what he could both from the reports on Mendel and what records of Hibiki's had been taken. And yes, Tyler had clearence to read classified Federation stuff, but he can't get it just by asking for it, he has to go through a process.

The final scene is one that I actually didn't originally plan to write but it turned out neater than I thought it would. So, as stated earlier, Tyler wants to protect Lacus from anything to do with his boss. If that didn't tell you there was a real chance Lacus would face-off with Tyler's boss, then you haven't read my stories much. I have a thing where a character will either say or do something to prevent an event they suggest from happening, but then it occurs some time later. This is an example of the hilarity of such a thing which gives me a kick. You can call it torturing my main character if you like and I won't exactly deny it is that. But it is a way I show my characters are human since I've gone through similar experiences doing the work and then it not having the desired result.

That being said, Lacus was insistent on "talking" to Tyler's boss and nothing Tyler said did anything to dissaude her. He hopes for the last chance he had in not coming across his boss, but you knew it was going to happen. The snap Tyler got from his boss was to show others who knew Tyler's stubbornness he would snap to for some. However, I would like to give props to Lacus for facing Angelia after Tyler's reaction. The girl has a backbone, which her older sister helped strengthen, but still a firm backbone which I compliment. Angelia does explain the need of following orders even if Lacus doesn't accept that. I want to make it clear that sometimes orders given have more to them than means the eye. Tyler can have some issue with that, if this phase didn't maek that obvious.

Sorry, that the ending notes are as long as they are in this Phase, but there was a lot to go through. I fear that may be close to a normal thing going forward, but don't hold me to that. There are more changes ahead, which is why I say long ending notes may become a thing. Anyway, as always, some of you take the time to write a review and tell me your opinion of this story, or to just ask me questions about this story. I will comment on what reviews I can which will be easier if you are a member of the Fanfiction site. I do not promising giving the answer to questions people in the form they want, for I try not to spoil things to come in the story, but I will reply. The next Phase is titled, "Cracks Forming," and it will hopefully be finished soon, coming along briskly and nicely. Until then, peace out all!
