Chapter 91
Elizabeth woke up wrapped in her husband's arms. She looked up and noticed that the walls were bare. Then she remembered they were in their new home. Her smile grew with that thought. She wrapped herself closer to her husband. She laid there thinking about this new season in her life. She was literally laying in the house of her dreams with the man of her dreams. Her hand was resting on her baby bump. In her opinion, her life was better than she could ever imagine. She closed her eyes hoping time would stop and she could lay in this moment forever.
After few moments, she felt Jack move.
"Hey beautiful, are you ready for the doctor visit today?"
"Good morning husband. I am."
"Have you decided if you want to know the sex of Ig and Iggy?"
She laughed at his nickname for the babies. She still didn't like the nicknames, but they were growing on her. "I'm still not sure."
They laid there silently for a few minutes just taking in the changes in their lives. They loved those changes.
"Jack, I'm sorry I feel asleep last night before we had our time together."
"That's ok, Elizabeth. I knew you were tired. You had a big day yesterday with all the moving."
"But it was our first night in our new house. I was hoping we could have enjoyed our time together."
"Me too, but I understand. You are growing two humans. That must be exhausting."
"It is, but I don't want to neglect us."
Jack gave her a smile and kissed on the tip of her nose.
"Well, we have time now." She flirted and scooted closer to him.
"That's true, sweetheart, but you have a doctor's appointment in a few hours."
She knew he was going to say that. He was hesitant to make love before the doctor visit. He thought it was just wrong and weird. She thought he was a little afraid the doctor would know that they were intimate.
"Jack, I'm going in because I'm pregnant. They know we were intimate."
"First, we're pregnant." He smirked. "Secondly, they don't need to know we were intimate today."
She tilted her head down and then looked up at him. She knew her eyes were his weakness. She worked it for all she had.
"Good…grief…woman. You shouldn't have this much power over me. It's not fair."
She batted her eyes at him and her smile grew knowing she had won. "I think I kind of like it." She flirted. "Jack…" She drew out his name.
Jack closed his eyes and lowered his head. He knew he had no resources in him to tell her no.
"It's our first morning in our new home. I'm sorry I fell asleep last night, but I'm awake now. Would you please make love to me?" She stated seductively and still looking up at him with her big, blue eyes.
Jack let out a soft laugh. "I would never say no to you, Elizabeth. You are my strength, but you are also my greatest weakness."
She smiled a victorious smile as she moved her leg over him and sat up on top of him. "Jack, I would like to try something new." The tone of her voice, the look in her eyes, and the beautiful glow of her skin made his heart stop. He shuttered at her words. She giggled when she felt him shutter.
"Jack…I love you."
"Elizabeth…I love you."
She leaned over and her lips were centimeters from his. She was so close that they were sharing the same breath. The anticipation was killing him, and she knew it. Her smile grew knowing that her husband desired her. She didn't think that intimacy could be like this, but she was grateful it is.
"E-liz-a-beth…you're killing me here." He said with an exacerbated breath. He leaned forward trying to make contact with her exquisite lips.
"Patience officer." She stated when she pulled back just out of his reach.
"It's chief." He sassed.
"Jack, lay back and do exactly what I say…ok."
She smiled when she heard his breath catch in his chest. He couldn't say anything. All he could do was lay back and nod his head.
…
James texted Viola before she was out of bed. She was awake catching up on emails, but she was comfortable and didn't want to move.
J – Are you awake?
V – I am
J – Come to the door
V – ?
J – Front door where you let people into your apartment
V – Be there in a minute
James waited for his girlfriend to open the door. He had breakfast in one hand and a small bouquet of flowers in the other.
"James, what are you doing here so…oh." She stated as she opened the door speaking before looking,
"These are for you, and I have breakfast."
"That's sweet of you."
"I'm know far and wide for my sweetness,"
Vi rolled her eyes at his silly statement.
"Come on V, food is getting cold."
She stepped aside to allow him to walk into her apartment. She watched him walk into the kitchen. He placed the food on the counter and then the flowers on the table. She admired James on several different levels. He was a kind man who valued her. She wasn't used to that and couldn't remember the last time she felt this type of love. She was already in love with him, and they have shared that with each other, but she wasn't sure where it was leading. Both of them have been burnt in their last relationship. Neither of them was eager to jump into something like that again. However, this didn't have the feeling of the last relationship either of them had.
"So, what do I owe for this?" She asked waving her hand between the flowers and breakfast.
"I just wanted to start my day with you."
She smiled at his response. She loved this man.
"I couldn't think of a better way to start my day."
…
Grace woke up from a perfect night of sleep. The bed was comfortable, and she rested well from all the activity from yesterday. She was excited about the doctor's appointment but decided against going with them. This was their time as a family, and she wasn't willing to interrupt their time. She also received a text from Charlette informing her that they would be home later today. She was looking forward to seeing her. They spoke weekly. They have quickly become close friends. She was still amazed at the room they made for her. In her opinion, it was perfect. The furniture and the pictures were way over the top. She still had a hard time believing they did this just for her. She figured it was a guest room, but they kept calling it her room. She wanted to make sure she thanked them. They did more than they should have done.
She has valued her last few conversations with Jack. He was honest and open with her concerning William. It frustrated her that her husband was acting this way toward Jack. He was a perfect match for their middle daughter. He was willingly giving up on a relationship with a good man. She didn't know how to fix it. She laid in her new bed for several minutes trying to figure it out.
She decided to get up and begin her day. If she would beat the kids downstairs, she would begin to work on breakfast. As she walked down the stairs, she heard the same sounds she did the previous morning. "My word…have they always been like this?" She laughed. She was happy for her daughter and the happiness she had in her life. "I think I need to invest in some earphones." She chuckled.
…
"Elizabeth, that was…that…"
"Jack…"
They squeezed each other's hands wanting to express their feelings but knew words couldn't begin to tell the other one their true feelings. However, the intimate squeezing of their hands spoke everything they wanted to tell each other.
As they laid side by side holding hands, they were trying to calm their heart rate. They were grateful there was a ceiling fan in their new bedroom.
Elizabeth started to get up but stopped when she heard something. "Oh…no…not again."
"What's wrong sweetheart?"
"I think I hear my mother in the kitchen." She gasped.
Jack thought for a moment, then he began laughing uncontrollably.
"Jack, it's not funny. That's my mother and this is the second time she heard us." She stared intently at him as he continued to laugh. "You should have been quieter."
He stared at her with disbelief written on his face.
"What?" She asked.
"Sweetheart, it was you who was making all the noise this morning."
Her face turned immediately red. "Jack, that wasn't me!" She exclaimed.
"Elizabeth, remember when I placed my hand over your mouth because you were getting loud?"
"Jack, do you remember when I placed my hand over your mouth because you were getting loud?"
They both looked at each other intently.
"Oh…that's right." They both said together.
"Jack…why did you have to start it this morning with my mother in the house? This is twice she heard us in two days."
"Sweetheart, I didn't start it this morning. Remember, I said we shouldn't because of the doctor's appointment?"
"Oh…well…that doesn't matter now. Does it?" She smirked.
Jack rolled to his side and kissed the tip of her nose. "This morning was perfect. Thank you for this memory."
"Jack…"
"I love you."
She looked into his eyes. He was grateful for her. She was loving and was willing to share those intimate moments with him. He was grateful for this woman in his arms. He counted his blessings every day. He didn't deserve this woman, but he was thankful for her. She saw all of that and so much more in those beautiful eyes of his. Then she glanced down at his dimpled smile. Those dimples… She thought.
"I'm sorry if I was loud this morning, but Elizabeth, can you blame me when you do something like that?"
She smirked at his response. "Did you like that?"
Instead of answering her, he rose himself up so he was hovering over her. She gasped at his movement. She was lost in those dimples. He kissed her with the passion of a man completely in love.
Once the kiss ended. "Jack, my mother…"
"She's not invited into the room. The door is locked. Now, Elizabeth, it's my turn to give you a memory you will not forget."
She shuttered at his statement. Jack has the same effect on her that she has on him. "But Jack…my mother."
"Then, little lady, you need to be quiet." He barely finished his statement before his lips captured her sweet spot just below her ear.
As he began to pay attention to the spot that drove her crazy with desire, she began to moan. When she realized what she did, she place her free hand over her mouth to quite her moans. Then she wrapped her legs around him to pull him closer.
…
"Jack, I think you should go out first." Elizabeth stated as she walked out of their bathroom.
"Why? She's your mother."
"Exactly!"
"Fine, I'll go out first."
He walked out of the bedroom expecting Elizabeth to immediately follow him. Instead, she closed the door after he walked out remaining in the bedroom.
"Coward!" He whispered over his shoulder.
"You're right."
"I bet those words were hard for you to say." He sassed.
"Tasted like vinegar." She sassed back.
Jack's attention was drawn toward the kitchen by the delicious smells coming from that direction.
"Mom, something smells great."
Before turning around, Grace smiled at her new name coming from Jack.
"It's French toast and bacon." She smiled as she turned around. "I hope you're hungry?"
Jack smiled and nodded as he walked up to her and kissed her on the cheek. "Thank you, mom. Did you rest well in your new room?"
"The guest room was perfect. I rested well."
"The guest room is next door to your room. The nursery is across from your room. You slept in your room mom." He emphasized the word 'your'.
"Jack…"
"Mom…that's your room. No one stays there except for you and Mr. Thatcher."
She nodded. "Thank you, son."
Grace smiled as she heard the bedroom door open and then close. Her daughter's face was red. "Good morning, dear. Did you rest well?"
"I did, mother. Did you?"
"I did." With a mischievous smile that Jack noticed, and Elizabeth didn't because she wouldn't look at her mother's face. "Do you two know where I may purchase a set of earphones for my phone?"
Without looking in her mother's direction. "Sure, are you wanting a pair?"
"Yes dear. Those same weird noised from your apartment has followed you here to this home."
Elizabeth gasped. "Mother!"
Jack and Grace laughed.
"If I had a pair of earphones, I could listen to music or a book."
"Jack, I told you we shouldn't have." She scowled at him.
"Elizabeth Marie." He stated. He lowered his head and then looked up at her batting his eyes. He was trying to emulate her facial expression from this morning. Then trying to mimic her voice. "Jack…" He elongated his name just like she did. "It's our first morning in our new home. I'm sorry I fell asleep last night, but I'm awake now. Would you please make love to me?" He stated in the same seductive voice she used.
She stood speechless and just glared at her husband.
Grace laughed at the couple. She walked up to Elizabeth with a huge smile on her face and gave her a hug and kissed her on the cheek. She whispered into her ear. "We are adults here. I am thankful you have a healthy relationship with your husband. You should be able to enjoy a little morning delight with your husband in your home."
"Twice actually." Smirked Jack.
"Thomas Jack Thorton!" Squealed Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth, I have French toast and bacon. Would you like OJ? Apple juice? Or ginger tea?" Grace laughed trying to change the subject.
"Ginger tea, please." She stated as she sat beside her husband on a stool at the kitchen island.
The three of them enjoyed their breakfast and talking about the day. Once again, Jack and Elizabeth invited Grace to join them on their doctor visit. She declined thinking it was their time together. She also agreed to drive to pick up Charlette and Adam at the airport. Jack and Elizabeth were surprised they were coming back a little early.
"They missed you two and just wanted to be here. She promised me that they would continue their honeymoon here."
"Mom, please." Stated Jack.
Now it was Elizabeth's turn to smirk at him.
…
Charlette and Adam enjoyed their last morning together in Yellowstone sitting on their back deck watching bison walk by while they ate their light breakfast.
"Adam, are you sure you are ok going back today?"
"Charlie, it was my idea."
"Yes, but did you only do that because you knew that's what I wanted to do?"
"Absolutely, but I'm fine with it too. You are my wife, and your desires are my desires. Now, let's finish so we can head out. We can't be late."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Now, who is picking us up at the airport?"
"Grace is. She came in to help with the move."
"Nice. I know you have missed her."
"I have." She smiled knowing it would be great to see her again.
"Everything is packed. We just need to load the car and do a quick cleaning of the dishes and trash here."
"Adam, this has been a great honeymoon. Thank you for everything."
"Thank you, Charlie. It has been great."
…
Jack spent an hour on phone calls. It was easily seen by Emma that she needed to get him out of the office for a little bit before the doctor's appointment. Jack spent yesterday and this morning on the phone.
"Chief." She interrupted his latest phone call. "You have your appointment with the SRO in a few minutes. You need to head out the door very soon or you will be pushing being late."
Jack looked up and mouthed, 'thank you."
"I'm sorry ma'am, but I must head out or I will be late for my meeting at the school."
After ending the phone call a couple of minutes later, he turned his attention to Emma. "Thank you, Boss Lady. I couldn't get off the phone with her, but isn't my appointment with John not until later?"
"I called him and asked if you could come in earlier. He agreed. Now, you have fifteen minutes to get there. Once you are done, you can take Elizabeth out for an early lunch or you can take a walk or something. Take a few minutes for yourselves. Once you get back after the doctor's appointment, you will need to do some work. You have a job to do." She smirked.
"Yes, Boss. Thank you." He eagerly jumped up from his desk chair and grabbed the folder from Emma's hand and walked toward the door.
…
After a busy morning for both Elizabeth and Jack, they were now on their way to the doctor's appointment. Elizabeth worked on her classroom for a couple of hours. Her classroom's theme of the ocean was coming along well. She was pleased with her progress. She also talked with Mary again for a few minutes. Mary continued to share little insights of working while pregnant. Elizabeth thought these bits of information was extremely valuable. She hung on every word Mary said.
Elizabeth reached for Jack's hand as soon as he sat down behind the wheel. "Ok, we have about fifteen minutes to make up our minds about finding out the sex of the Peanuts."
"I know, but I'm still undecided on this. Sometimes I want to know but there are sometimes I don't want to."
"I agree." She sighed. "Maybe we should wait until that moment and see what we feel at that moment."
"Oh…I don't know if I can do that." He chuckled.
"Ok…so…?"
"I'm not sure." The ride was quiet for the last few minutes of the drive. They simply enjoyed each other's company. Jack held her hand and she rubbed her thumb over his hand. It was a gentle touch that was endearing to Jack.
As they pulled into the doctor's office, he turned toward Elizabeth. "We really need to figure this out before we walk in the office."
Elizabeth thought about it for a few minutes. "Ok…what if we do this?" She paused for a moment thinking of the right words. "We both want to know because we want to decorate the nursery. Correct?"
"Yes."
"We also don't want to know because we want to be surprised?"
Jack nodded his head in agreement.
"Now, if the Peanuts are agreeable, why don't we find out but not tell people for a little while?"
"So, you and I will be the only ones who know for a little while?"
She nodded.
"Perfect. I think that's a great idea."
"Great. So, we learn and keep it a secret. Do you think you can keep a secret?" She sassed remembering all the people he told about the pregnancy.
"Perfect. Do you think you can keep a secret?" He sassed remembering that she was the one who let out the news about the twins.
"If you tell first, you have to rub my feet every night for a week?" She dared him to take the bet.
"If you tell first, you have to rub my back every night for a week?" He dared her as well.
"Deal!" She exclaimed putting out her hand.
"What are you doing?"
"We made a deal. When you make a deal, you shake on it."
"Beautiful, we're married. We don't shake hands."
"What do married couples do then?" She flirted.
"They kiss." He leaned in and kissed her gently.
"Let's go husband. We don't want to be late."
…
They checked in and were sitting in the waiting room.
"Jack, did you carry me to bed last night?"
"I did. You were tired and fell asleep."
"Jack, you can't keep doing that. You will…"
"Madre calda, don't you dare finish that statement." Jack exclaimed.
"But Jack, I keep getting bigger by the day…maybe by the minute." She frowned.
"Mrs. Thatcher!"
"Jack, I hate it when you use my maiden name."
"And I hate it when you disparage my beautiful wife."
"But Jack, you're going to hurt yourself."
"If you are going to say what I think you're going to say, I will remove every jar of pickles from the house." He sassed.
"You wouldn't." She stated horrified with the thought.
"Try me, beautiful." He sassed looking her in the eyes.
"Mr. and Mrs. Thorton." The nurse called out from the door.
…
"Wake up, Cougar. Our plane is landing soon." Adam stated while kissing her on the cheek.
She loved his attention and playfulness. "We should have stayed." She sighed. "I guess this is what I get marrying a younger man."
"It is. Too late to back out now."
"Never!" She exclaimed.
"Your best friend is going to meet us at the airport?"
"Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing her. It has been a while." She smiled thinking of Grace.
"So, am I driving so you two hens can catch up on the gossip?" He chuckled at his teasing.
"News dear, not gossip."
"Sure."
…
As they walked into the small room just through the door, the nurse looked at Elizabeth's chart. "So, Elizabeth, how are you feeling?"
"I've been feeling well."
"How is your morning sickness?"
Elizabeth looked at her smirking husband. "Why don't you answer that?" She sassed. She knew he loved to tell that story.
The nurse looked at the couple with a confused look.
"For the most part, it is getting much better when I do my daddy thing."
"Your daddy thing?" Asked the confused nurse.
Jack smiled at the nurse and with great pride in his voice, he told the nurse the story of him talking to the babies.
"Jack, you know that has no effect on the morning sickness? They are not developed enough yet."
The nurse was a little shocked that Jack's prideful expression didn't change.
"Don't bother, nurse. He's convinced that he fixes it." Chuckled Elizabeth.
"Well, you know I don't have to keep doing it." Teased Jack.
"Wait…I didn't say that!" Elizabeth gasped. "Jack…you can't stop."
"Alright Elizabeth. Let's get your vitals. Would you please step up on the scale? How has your eating been?"
"It's been good. I can tell I'm hungrier than normal."
"Well, that's good. Just make sure you're choosing good foods and not just junk food. We want the weight you gain to be good weight, especially with twins."
"Her food choices have certainly changed." Jack continued when the nurse looked at him. "Well, is it really normal for a pregnant woman to eat weird things?"
The nurse laughed. "Absolutely."
"Even dill pickles on top of ice cream covered with chocolate syrup? It was easy to hear the disgust in his tone.
"Oh, Elizabeth. You must try it with whip cream on top. Plus, there are dill pickle flavored chips that I hear is really good."
"Ooohhh…that sounds great!"
Jack shook his head at the conversation. None of that sounded good to him.
"Your weight is perfect, Elizabeth. Naturally you have gained weight, but you are well within the range we want you at. Keep up the good work. Your heart rate is great. While your blood pressure is within normal range, it is at the higher level of the normal range. The doctor won't do anything with it at the moment, but we will want to keep a close watch on that. Do you have a blood pressure cuff at home?"
"No. I have never had issues with that before."
"I'll have one for you before you leave. It's a wrist one. Just take it a couple of times a day at different times and keep an eye on it."
"Should I be worried."
"No. We just want to keep an eye on it. If it gets high and we don't take care of it, it can cause problems. We just want to avoid that. How are you on the vitamins?"
"I am almost out."
"I'll have more for you when you leave. Now, tell me what your plans on working are?"
Elizabeth filled her in on her plans as she finished up taking the vitals.
"That should be great. I'll let the doctor know your plans, so she is in the know. Now, here is the fun part." She handed Elizabeth a cup. "You know the drill. We will be in examination room five."
As Elizabeth stepped into the restroom, the nurse led Jack to room five. "Now, if I remember correctly, we have already had this discussion before. How are you doing with not being too helpful?"
Jack sighed. "I'm doing better but I still struggle with that a little."
"Did the boys have to tape her to a chair yesterday?"
"No…wait, how did you know that?"
"My son was one of the guys that helped. He is looking forward to the fishing trip."
"They did a great job yesterday."
"Just keep working on it. Follow her led."
"I'm trying."
"That's all she can ask for. Now, do you have any questions for me?"
"I can't think of any. I have been speaking to my ma's new husband. He and his previous wife had twins. So, he had been answering some of my questions."
"That's great. Now, keep loving your wife and you will be just fine. Now, the doctor is a little behind due to an emergency earlier in the morning, but she will be in here soon."
…
Charlette looked up from the luggage pickup when she heard a familiar voice. "Grace." She smiled at the sight of her friend.
"Go, I'll get our bags when they come out."
"Are you sure?"
"Go…go. I have this."
Charlette quickly walked to her friend and they both hugged each other like long, lost friends.
"Oh, Charlette. Marriage agrees with you. You look stunning."
"I think it does. I'm happy."
"Yes…I can see that." Smirked Grace.
Charlette's face turned a slight color of pink. "Well…if I knew marrying a younger man would be like this, I would have…"
"Good afternoon, Grace." Adam stated as he walked up to the ladies still holding each other.
Grace tossed him the keys to her rental car. "Here young man. You are driving, we have some catching up to do."
…
Elizabeth and Jack sat in the examination room waiting. While it hasn't been a long time, it has seemed like forever. They were eager to see and hear their babies.
"We've been in here forever!" Whined Elizabeth.
"There's my little impatient wife. We have been in her for five minutes, but yes it feels forever."
She playfully glared at him as he laughed at her expression. "I can't help it." She defended herself.
"I know."
Finally, there was a knock on the door and the doctor stepped into the room.
"I'm sorry for the delay. We had an emergency earlier today and it has thrown me behind. Elizabeth how are you feeling?"
Elizabeth explained everything, and the doctor was pleased. "Now, we will have a wrist cuff for you to use. Just keep an eye on your blood pressure. If it goes up, please let us know."
"Should I be concerned with this?"
"No, not yet. It can cause problems later on in pregnancy if we don't address it, but we are not there yet. You are still in the normal range, just on the upper side of normal. We just want to be cautious and keep an eye on it. I would rather be too cautious than not cautious enough. Your urine sample looks normal, and your heartrate is within normal range."
"That's great."
"The nurse left me a note stating that you would like to work up to Christmas, which is just before your due date?"
"Yes, if I can."
"Just so you know, most twins decided to make their appearance before their due date."
"I've been told."
"Let's shoot for that, but you will need to listen to your body. You may not be able to last till Christmas."
"I've been talking to a friend of mine at work. Mary has been giving me some insights and ways to help."
"That's great. You may want to use a stool if you normally teach standing for long periods of time. As the pregnancy progresses, especially with twins, you will need more frequent bathroom breaks. The little ones have a tendency to dance on the bladder. Plus, you need to make sure you are drinking enough water, so you don't become dehydrated. That's common in pregnancy with twins."
"Mary has been telling me those types of things."
"Perfect. Have you been taking the vitamins on a regular basis?"
"Yes, I only forgot one day early on, but I have been consistent with them."
"I'll let you slide with one time." She laughed. "The vitamins are important for their development and for your health. Your body will need a little help providing enough things those two little ones need to be healthy."
"Things are looking good?" Jack asked.
"I see no reason for concern. That could change as you know, but what I have in front of me is a normal pregnancy. I wouldn't change a thing. If we need to bump you up to a high pregnancy category, I would like for you to see my partner here. He does high risk pregnancy cases. He is very good, plus we are partners so it would be easy to pass information to each other. I will always be involved in your case."
Jack and Elizabeth nodded in agreement.
"Great. Keep doing what you are doing and if you two passed any of your stubborn genes to those two little ones, things will be great." She offered them a smile. Both Jack and Elizabeth laughed.
"Now, let's talk a look at your two little ones. Any thoughts on knowing if you are having boys or girls?"
"Yes." They both stated. "Jack and I have decided we wanted to know but we are keeping it a secret for now. We like the fact that we are the only ones who knows everything about our babies."
"Makes perfect sense. Now, let's see if the little ones are being cooperative today. Elizabeth, you know the drill."
"Doctor, is it ok is I record their heartbeat? I would like to make it my ring tone when Elizabeth calls me."
"Help yourself, Jack." She smiled at the couple. "Now, this will be cold."
The doctor applied the gel to Elizabeth's tummy and began to move the wand around. "Wow, they look really good." She stated as she clicked a couple of times to take measurements. "They are growing exactly like we want for them to be doing. Mommy, you are doing a great job growing them. They are right on target for an early January due date."
Jack squeezed Elizabeth's hand. "You are such a great mother."
"Ok, now let's see if these two will reveal the big news today."
The doctor moved the wand a little bit and snapped a picture. With a big smile, she moved the wand to the other side of her tummy and began moving it again. With another huge smile, she snapped another picture of the screen.
"Ok…last change. They were very cooperative today. I can tell you with certainty if you are having boys or girls." She stated as the printer began printing the two pictures.
Elizabeth looked at the doctor and without hesitation asked. "Which one is Thomas Jack?"
The doctor smiled. "He is on the right side. Here is his picture."
Elizabeth reached for it with tears in her eyes and the biggest smile the doctor has ever seen.
"Which one is Elizabeth Marie?" Asked Jack.
The doctor smiled and shook her head. "She is on the left side and is just a little smaller than her brother. This is very normal for a boy and girl set of twins."
Jack's smile matched his wife's smile and his tears flowed. Elizabeth moved her photo of the boy and placed it beside Jack's photo of the little girl. They just looked at the two pictures together. After a few moments, the doctor felt that she was intruding on an intimate moment. She left the room without saying a word. It didn't matter, Jack and Elizabeth were so wrapped up with their little family that they didn't notice the doctor left.
"Elizabeth…"
"Jack…"
They spoke at the same time. They looked at each other wanting to talk, but just couldn't. They were so overwhelmed. They looked into each other's eyes and were grateful they could have this discussion without words.
After a few minutes, Jack leaned in and kissed the tip of Elziabeth's nose. "Thank you, Elizabeth. I love you."
"Thank you, Jack. I love you."
"Me and you."
"Me and you."
They looked at the pictures for a few minutes before they spoke.
"We need to talk about his name. I don't want my son named after me." With that statement of saying son, a tear fell.
"We do need to talk. I am not naming my son anything except after his father. But Jack, I don't want my daughter named after me." With her statement, a tear fell from her eye.
"I am not naming my daughter anything except after her mother."
"I guess we need to talk about this." They both stated at the same time.
