Gon is on an outing with his lovers, preparing for their long holiday trip.

A\N: I made a mistake… that I didn't pick up on. I wrote kilometres and not meters. Fixed it up

Sakura dipped his feet into the cool, warm waters of the island, the black with pink strips wetsuit fitting snuggly on his frame. Now being here on Roseara Island, it was like witnessing a dream become reality.

Dating Gon certainly has its many pros… he's not just romantic, he puts time into these types of events, meticulously planning out every moment to maximise his partner's happiness.

Even now, when he looked over his shoulder, he saw Iason and Gon looking over the gear, sorting them out for their respective pair. Gon had a look of confusion as he tried to sort out what went with what, while Iason seems to be able to gauge which gear slots in with another.

It wasn't that Gon had zero clues about these kinds of things…

He didn't grow up around with that kind of stuff.

While Sakura was sure Iason also didn't grow up with scuba diving gear, he tended to seek out the information as it was provided. Getting up, he decided to join his partner's struggle, hoping to assist his partners.

Instead, what he walked into was a bit of banter.

"Gon, unless you plan on breathing in your own, fumes, that's the hose is for the tank."

"But what if I want to breathe out of your tank?"

"Just, no… Gon." Iason shook his head in disbelief, "we're not swimming while joined to the hip. That's a hazard waiting to happen."

Gon pouted, "But that wasn't what I was talking about…"

Iason gave his partner a knowing glance, "Considering how long you can hold your breath for… you'd suck my lungs dry."

The boy continued to pout, acting sad from the fact he won't be able to do something he'd consider on the endearing side. With a reluctant sigh, Gon gave in "Fine… I won't suck you dry. But at least we can still kiss…"

Iason's cheeks reddened from the implied double-entendre, "Jeez, context…"

Gon blinked in confusion "Huh…?"

"Never mind…" The boy sighed in disbelief, "We just need to finish setting this up so we can, oh hey little flower."

"Little flower…" Sakura gave Iason a knowing smile, "I heard everything. Are we going to be okay to go exploring in the water?"

"Today…?"

"No, in general. It's too late to go out now. There won't be much light left before night."

"Ahh…" The boy gave a nod, "Refilling the tanks will be easy. There are several stations littered throughout the island. They can hold up to four hours' worth of oxygen, IF, we were professional divers. I'd say we'll have about an hours' worth give or take at the start. We just must keep practising taking long, slow breaths and try not to hyperventilate while down there."

Iason lifted out a finger, pointing at Gon "He might have about a day's worth in a single tank."

Gon frowned, "I don't think that's how it works. I take a deep breath, then hold. So, I might have a head start over you… but not long periods of indefinite breathing. I might be able to get two hours at the start… but I'm not about to test my lack of deep diving skills."

Iason hummed at the response, agreeing with his partner, although, his comment was meant more like a cheeky remark, rather than an absolute fact. It's going to be a learning curve for all of them.

They'll need to take it slow, and not plan to dive straight to the bottom. The island may not have a depth of the Mariana Trench, but it was still deep enough for newbie divers to get Barotrauma or Decompression Illness.

While he was sure Gon would be okay, it was Sakura he was more worried about. His boyfriend tended to get lost in his surroundings, moving from one spot to the next, appreciating every view the world has to offer.

There are certain areas of the Island that are a depth of between 200 to 250 meters. If his boyfriend is constantly bouncing between heights, or he shudders to think, loses track of his oxygen levels, it could be a death sentence for his partner.

Sakura saw the look of concern on his partner's face, but before he could say anything, Gon piped up "Hey, what's wrong?"

"Huh…?"

"You have a look of concern…"

"Oh, well, I have my worries about deep diving with zero skills… we should have a professional to assist us, at least for a day… but it'll reduce the already short amount of time we'll get to spend together… I've read the guides and risks, especially when rapidly changing between sea levels. Who, I'm most worried about? Is Sakura… because I know you appreciate scenery the most. If something catches your eye, you're drawn to it."

Sakura gave a nod, "I'll try to be careful when I'm down there."

"I do trust you… but I'll still be a little bit worried for you. Maybe if we had some system in place where we-"

Gon tapped Iason's shoulder, drawing his partner with a huge smile "How about a system in place we already use in the bedroom."

Iason frowned, "We're in public right now…"

Gon shook away the thought from his partner's minds, "No, not what we do… well… we do, do it, but… the one we use for Sakura. You tap a spot to see if he's okay with it."

Iason raised an eyebrow, "We can't talk underwater though…"

Sakura smiled widely, "Actually, Gon is right in a sense… The touch and tap system. For example, you touch our shoulder to stay put, tap once to descend, tap twice to ascend, and cycle between them so we get a rhythm."

Iason crossed his arms, thinking it over, "It'll be different between us… Gon might be more comfortable sinking and rising between levels faster than the both of us, combined. Plus, that'll put pressure on me or one of us to make sure the other two are always okay, rather than exploring and having fun as a group…"

The boy paused for a moment, wondering over the situation "Then again, it might be relieving to have the other two follow within the same distance to where we can all learn the proper process of diving, and accommodating to the pressure of being underwater. It'll help not only myself, but at least everyone… not only knowing that we're following the proper procedure, but they're also diving safely on their own."

The two agreed to the request, Gon further adding to the list, "Well, since you're the one who will be helping us practice since you'll be the one who'll technically, read the entire manual… It's…" Gon offered a weak, apologetic smile, "Something I'm not great at… I think you should come up with gestures or taps, whichever you think will work better underwater for us to help better communicate with each other."

Iason brought a hand to his chin, mulling his partner's words over. While it's true he's better in this department, as he grew up in Leorio's household, reading books as more of a past time… it's something he's not only done out of habit, he finds enjoyment in learning about various topics "While it's true I do learn things by reading… I do also get some enjoyment out of reading about new concepts and processes… You can't just lay this on me like you're trying to get out of your maths homework."

Gon froze, re-experiencing his past trauma of when Knuckle first introduced his ability against him. It was like a long, endless equation of constant values that changed every ten seconds. Steam gradually flowed from Gon's ears as he relieved that moment.

Sakura immediately held out his hands, "Gon, wait… stop thinking about your battle with Knuckle."

Iason turned to Sakura, then back to Gon, remembering that maths was a trigger, a reminder of that moment. Clicking his fingers, he drew Gon back to reality "I promise there will be no equations."

"You promise…" Gon looked at his partner guiltily, a little relieved at the news. He dreaded to think of having to manually count down the amount of time remaining in the oxygen tank.

"The only thing is, the first time we practice underwater, you both need to be aware of where I am, always. Also, we got to do it in a place with the least number of distractions… and Kruleabon Sharks. They are very playful, and they're not good to be around when you're trying to learn how to dive properly."

Sakura put up his hand, "How about I try to read the manual as well. Anything I don't understand, I'll ask you… so that it's mainly Gon you'll need to teach. That'll give you more time for yourself to think about concepts that you think Gon would struggle with, rather than having to do it for the both of us."

"I… I like that idea. Okay, so we have our main goal in place, including the gear, we'll need. Give me a couple of hours to read the manual and come up with not only the best way to explain everything but also think of a way to direct us while we're swimming deeper. I'll need to come up with gestures for you when you feel okay or sick. Also, we must remember, if we lose sight of the others, at least for this first time… we shouldn't panic. Our safest option is to put what we practised into play and head towards the nearest beach, to recuperate."

"In that case…" Gon redirected their attention, "I'll have to go and pick up some information left behind for me… which I forgot to get yesterday." The boy pressed his hands together in apology, "I'll meet you back in our room later, to pick you up for dinner."

Quickly rushing off, the two looked at each other, equally confused. Where and when, did Gon make reservations for dinner?

"~"

The boy practically ran to the meeting spot, almost late to an unprompted meeting. Well, it was less of a meeting, more of quick debriefing, from the information he was supposed to get yesterday, after the meeting.

Geoffrey Klein was waiting, arms crossed with a bemused smirk. Seeing that spiky hair boy running towards him with a panicked expression, reminded him of his high school years from ages ago.

He was going to chastise the boy, but not in a don't ever forget your homework, ever again way. It was more in you ran off before taking what you were supposed to get.

Gon here was still on holiday with his partners. Provided he gets the job done before he leaves, he can overlook his teenager habits of forgetting to grab a few documents.

The only reason he thought about hiring Gon, without knowledge of knowing he was a teen, was because Morel was the first Hunter on his list he originally wanted to hire. The man mentioned Gon's name in passing, not as an alternative, but rather as someone he praised for his strength and tenacity.

Unfortunately, Morel had prior commitments, so he needed to get another Sea Hunter, who had similar strengths as that man. Someone skilled enough to explore the deep sea.

"I'm sorry for the delay…" Gon gave an apologetic smile.

"I understand you have prior commitments… just don't forget you also have a job to complete. Just remember you have Steffelor you're going to need to work alongside, including the others from the meeting you can gather intel from."

"I know… now, sorry to run again… but I made a reservation with my partners."

"Oh…" The man felt a sly grin etch across his face, "where are you going?" Now this, he had to know. So far, Gon showed signs of not only planning, ahead but putting research into what he or his partners planned on doing.

He knew that much, seeing as the boy brought up a point about one of his partners exploring the Northern caves, which was also close to the Western Underwater Forest. There was an air of genuineness about the boy, a lack of need to hide behind lies to protect those dear to him.

Gon was going to call a spade a spade. Hopefully… that sense was the same when it came to his dinner plans with his partners.

"I believe it's called Il Pesce del Vecchio Molo."

"Ah, our finest Italian restaurant. I see you thought very far ahead. In that case, might I recommend the Salmon, it comes with a delicious creamy style sauce."

"Thank you for the advice!"

The boy ran off once again, leaving the man smirking. Day two… and he's already blowing off that expensive card… I suppose the Hunter's Licence does come with its pro benefits. Booking is two of the hardest things to get on the Island. He must have been taught well… by a skilled haggler.

Chuckling to himself, the man left for his office, dreading the paperwork he still needed to fill out.

"~"

Sakura felt so out of place when Gon told him to dress nicely for the occasion. Here, he had Gon dressed in a plain black suit and white shirt, and Iason dressing semi-casual, with his button-up grey cashmere jumper, over his cream-coloured dressy shirt and black suit-style pants.

He felt like the odd one out, wearing the white, knee-length frilly dress. It's the only thing he had, that ideally, fits Gon's request. The only thing that would look odd, is what he was wearing underneath it.

It was a pair of trunks Iason helped him pick out.

He was conscious of what he wore, only when it came to formal attire events.

It was not his strong suit.

He wasn't as fashionable as Iason or Killua, but he was thankful for people in his life, helping him coordinate his attire, so he doesn't have an accidental wardrobe malfunction. If he were to bend over, like how he'd normally do when picking something up, he'd have bent forward, rather than go into a sitting position via the hips.

One action shows everything, while the other tends to be more reserved and refined.

Gon led the two to a secluded table, away from the majority of the diners.

Sakura was relieved, to know that Gon, would rather have private time with them, rather than show them off, or rain affection on them while others would be forced to see it happen. It's not that he didn't like PDA, he was okay with it…

It's that when it's an expensive restaurant, one that caters to the high social classes, that's when he starts to feel uncomfortable.

Gon doesn't care… he was never one to care about how others view him from a social standpoint.

Gon pulled out one of the seats, directing Sakura to the first chair. Once the boy was seated, the boy helped their other partner, Iason, take a seat. Giving a kiss on Iason's forehead, Gon then proceeded to kiss Sakura on the forehead as well, not wanting the other to feel left out.

The boy finally took a seat for himself, making sure his two partners were within hand holding length.

Iason was the first to pick up the menu, eyes widening once he saw the prices. They were insane, like, only the richest of the richest, would dare eat here without a care for the money flying out of their wallets.

The moment he placed the menu down, he looked at his partner and host for the evening "Gon, you can't be serious… this is wallet robbing expensive." He whispered the last part, so only they could hear.

Gon looked at the menu, "It's not too bad… I still have money from my Heaven's Arena days."

"Yeah, well the Salmon costs 100,000 Jenny. That's more than what you'll probably make for this job."

"Actually…" The boy paused for a moment, remembering his deal "I'm getting paid close to a million, if, I solve the issue before the other guy."

Sakura stepped into the conversation, "And if you don't solve it…? Or solve it before the other guy?"

"Hmm…" Gon hummed to himself, "I think it was two-hundred thousand if I don't solve it, but assisted. However, if I don't deal with it before the deadline… I'm looking at close to a ten million Jenny cost for the accommodation, plus rental fees…"

"T- Ten million?" Iason panicked, "What for?"

"Accommodation is already paid for, from taking on the job. The other expenses are from food, catering, and the rental fees… which is only for you two. My rental fees already wavered."

Iason looked once more at the menu, "We better not be eating here every night… you'll rack those fees up."

Gon smiled at his partner, "Sowwy, but this was a once in a lifetime occasion."

Iason quirked up an eyebrow as he moved the menu out of the way "Once in a lifetime, huh?"

"Yeah, I had to beg for one day in the restaurant. They practically squeezed us in on the least busy day during our time here. Which, happened to be today…"

Sakura frowned at the news, "Well now I feel bad. You shouldn't have pushed your chances… I would've been fine with fast food."

"Please…" Gon pointed at the menu, hoping that his partners would continue to stay. How often, would they ever get to dine at a high-end restaurant, on a resort? "It's fine dining for just one night."

The two looked at each other, mentally arguing with themselves. Eventually, Iason spoke up, "Alright… we'll do it for you. But, don't go all in… promise?"

"Yay!" Gon cheered, smiling apologetically at the other patrons who looked annoyed at him for his loud cheering.

"Well, we have to get the Salmon, since the manager of the resort, said it was the best here…"

Iason offered a nod, now looking at the menu, "You don't mind if I pick for you, Sakura?"

"No, I don't mind… I wouldn't know what to pick."

The boy would agree, everything looked unappetising, by name alone. But, it looks like there were a few gems in the menu. Looking over the list, he looked up to see Gon was also looking, "See anything you want to try?"

"I'm just as lost as Sakura… The names are almost as long as the ingredients."

The boy chuckled in response, "I would've thought so… Alright, I think I have a few we can try. An entrée and four Principale, or mains… for the non-word savvy people here. We'll share the mains, sound fair?"

"Yes!" His two partners agreed.

"Might I suggest… and believe me, I will butcher the pronunciation if I have to order via its name. Let's start with the entrée… Capesante ripiene di ricotta, servite con limone e insalata di Panzanella." The boy made sure to sound every word out to the best of his ability, making Gon beam with a smile that left the impression that he was impressed with his ability to pronounce Italian dishes on his first guess.

In actuality, he was probably pronouncing the words in a completely different accent.

The boy shook his thoughts away, "For the Principale. For number one, Cosce di polpo, immerse nel sale e nel lime con salsa maionese. Number two, Pappardelle con gamberi, salsa leggera all'aglio e crema al tartufo, which I think Sakura would enjoy the most out of this bunch and Gon… I think you'd enjoy number three. Bistecca di manzo, con salsa di sugo e insalata di insalata russa… and for the final Principale, Gon's request the Salmone servito su un letto di crema di Fontina e un'insalata di insalata di riso…"

Sakura looked worried, "That's… a lot."

"The price or food?"

"Both…" Sakura quietly admitted.

"Usually the portions aren't massive, with these types of restaurants. So, I think we should be fine."

Gon offered a huge smile, "I think we should be fine with the selection. Thanks for having a look for us, our little teddy."

Iason looked away, cheeks completely red. Why did Gon have to call him their teddy? Could he have picked a less inconvenient time to choose to be sappy, not after looking through a menu to see what he thought they would like… "Gon, just… please rein in your sappy side till after the food. We don't know if we'll feel the same after eating…"

Gon gave a nod, "Alright, just for you guys… but after we get back, I'm going to shower you in affection."

The two rolled their eyes at each other in response, already expecting nothing less. They loved being on the receiving end, just not being told Gon was going to go ham on his love for them.

Il Pesce del Vecchio Molo is my lazy way of trying to name things, with some kind of meaning… Google translated it to Italian from "The Fish from the Old pier"
Fun fact, I have an Italian background... but I can't speak the language, even though both of my parents can.
