The two continue their training.

Alluka gets to make the choice, the boys wish they could.

A\N: Reposting it, as I had to change several paragraphs to fix up inconsistencies between Nen and what a non-Nen practitioner could see.

Leo could understand why, Nen was so secretive… why it was a risk to show off its existence. Those with malicious intent would flock to it like moths to a flame. Watching the way Killua and Daniel moved, was proof of that… they weren't normal teenagers, at least, from a physical strength-wise perspective.

He could understand that much, even though his eyes couldn't register every single moment.

From what Leo knows, at least how Killua implies his ability works, it mimics electricity. It circles his body like an electrical generator... supposedly lighting him up like a Christmas Tree. Although, he can't see any of that, just when Killua's ability is supposedly in effect, his hair is standing up like he's touching one of those static electricity ball found usually in science museums.

Unlike Killua's ability, at least he can see Daniel's ability to manipulate his shadow. It looks like dark hands that clawed their way out of the ground like they were hands from hell, attempting to pull the next victim into the pits of hell.

The ability to use Nen was like having superhuman abilities. They may not be like Superman, with an arsenal of various abilities at their disposal, but they had their main ability, followed by subdivisions.

For example, Killua's main ability was to control electricity, at least that's what he believes he has been told. Given that he has seen the teen's hair standing up from time-to-time, it does sound like it has to do with electricity.

Killua mentioned that he's able to use it in an explosive manner. He can't see it in effect, but he could certainly see the results of each move.

Whether that was "firing" it like a bullet from his fingertip, he briefly saw the boy narrowly avoiding what looked like for Leo, was nothing. But given that Daniel could see something and he couldn't, it was safe to assume it was the bullet of electricity Killua had fired in Daniel's direction.

Daniel may have twitched from how close it was to him, clenching his fist to help him push through the side effect… but he still pushed on, no matter how much it hurt.

Apparently, another application of how Killua used it, was when he wore it like a coat of armour. During those times, the boy chased his partner as though he were about to grab him… intending on hugging him close so that the electrical charge surges between them.

Daniel learnt that lesson once, he didn't want to have that sensation running through him again.

The other time was when Killua used it as an extension of his body, from what he could tell… like claws extending from one's nails. He'd throw an attack, and if the hand came in the vicinity of his boyfriend, even if he was off by a few centimetres… it'll cause his partner's body to lock up for a few seconds.

He doesn't know how far Killua needs to be, for the electricity to still touch Daniel, but seeing the boy weave and move out of the way, it's safe to assume… the boy knows the rough distance.

He was unable to avoid everything, given Killua's speed, but there were a few times he was able to counter, without running the risk of his boyfriend using his ability as a defensive mechanism.

Now, compared to Killua's… Daniel's ability was vastly different, more versatile when it came to his superpowers. While Killua could control electricity, Daniel could control something dark… sinister looking.

They were somehow attached to the boy, given that if Killua hit one of them, Daniel also reacted. He doesn't know why they were shaped into hands, but given, the fact that the boy was able to grab and hold his partner in place, sometimes even making him stumble as he was moving mid-step, was a testament to his skill to control those things.

He doesn't know how he was able to control them on the fly, but considering the number of times he's seen Daniel gesture with his hands, it may be linked to his hand movements. With their versatility, they must be able to help make his chores super easy.

Leo wouldn't even be surprised if the boy could wield his ability with the necessary skill to use one of the weapons at his side. The hands lunging with the spear, swinging the axe, snaping the whip… maybe even a combination of the three at the same time.

He could only imagine what an enemy would be thinking when those hands are swinging an axe at him out of nowhere… shadowy hands moving through the darkness.

It felt like the two could fight forever, but there was an eventual moment where their knees buckled, both collapsing to the floor at similar times.

Daniel may have fallen to his knees first, but Killua's arms hung at his side, the two breathing heavily.

"Looks like you can't move… Killua, means I win."

"Well, at least I'm not the one on my knees like I'm preparing to propose."

"Killua…" Daniel raised his sore arms, holding up an imaginary box to his partner "Will you-."

"WE'RE FOURTEEN! Stop making it into a joke…"

"Well, I'm being serious about the sentiment. I'd marry you in a heartbeat."

"Yeah, well…" Killua turned away, flushed from the proposal "We're still too young. That's not changing any time soon…"

"Alright, alright…" Daniel waved his partner off, unable to help but smile. He may casually admit that's his end goal, but even when Killua denies it now, he never once cut off the possibility for later in life.

Killua must feel the same, to accept the possibility… even if it's not now. Whether it's four… ten or even twenty years from now… he'll say yes when the time is right. Daniel leaned over, a thumb pressing against the side of his partner's cheek.

When the boy stilled, Daniel ran his thumb over the piece of dirt that clung stubbornly to his boyfriend's face. They were once more so close to each other, that the intoxicating need to kiss his partner started to seep in.

As the days went by it got stronger.

Even though they kissed this morning, it didn't feel like it was enough.

He wanted to kiss him again…

When Killua's eye met his, he felt the need stirring in his chest. The dark expression he had received… was for something else. Killua hungered for more, the question was who'd break first?

Killua…

Or himself…?

Daniel leaned in close, lips brushing against his boyfriend's ear "Soon…" He hadn't expected he'd be the one to say it, but he had. The shock was palpable. Was this him speaking… or was it the bond they share, interfering once more with their personalities?

He had become so desperate, that he's now on par with the one who wants to completely explore his kinks with him.

Pulling away, the evidence was written on each of their cheeks.

"I…" Daniel tried to find the courage to apologise, but what would he be apologising for. Admitting to a need that Killua has been expecting for a while? His boyfriend is way more desperate for that physical connection than he was.

His partner was probably jumping for joy in his head, ecstatic to hear the news.

"I don't know what came over me…"

"It's… It's fine." Killua caught a glimpse of the third wheel walking towards them "We'll continue this conversation later."

"Hey…" Killua gave the third an awkward wave, arm still sore. He winced a little, enough to make his partner worried for him.

"We went too hard on each other…" Daniel whined, his hand coming up to brush his partner's arm "We-"

Killua wrenched his arms out of his partner's grasp "I'm fine. A little sore, but otherwise fine." He wasn't about to admit his partner may have dislocated his arm, not because he was prideful of his strength but rather worried about his partner who'd only look depressed from something he should be proud of.

He managed to one-up him, to take him by surprise.

Smiling at his partner, he swung his arms around, hiding the obvious pain by closing his eyes, "I'm still fit… I was just tight from lack of training. Nothing a few constant sessions couldn't fix."

Daniel bit his lip, still worried for his boyfriend. But he could press him when they were alone, to find out if he was still hurt "Alright…" The boy tried to stand up, only to have his foot buckle from underneath him.

"Daniel!" Killua kneeled in front of his partner, shocked to see Leo was also worried for him "What did you do?"

"You remember when I roundhouse kicked you?"

"Several…"

"During the time I was manipulating my shadows, using the hands as jumping stones to create distance as well as slow you down. Well… when I performed the attack, let's say I may have twisted my foot too quickly."

"Damn…" Killua held the foot, "You may have twisted your ankle. You'll be fine in a day or two… at least when moving around. Maybe a week for it to completely heal."

"What about training…?"

"I can work through it… it's fine. But you, you're not used to it. I'll give you a couple of days, then we'll go from there."

"Fine…" Daniel then touched Killua's hand, "Thank you…"

"For what? Beating your arse into the ground?"

"No…" The boy stared blankly at his partner, "for looking out for me."

Killua rolled his eyes. Isn't that what he's supposed to do for his partner, to look out for him? He hurt himself, well… they both did. They made rookie mistakes, mistakes that could've been easily avoided, had they not left it for so long.

At least for now, they'll have to hold back before they get back into the swing of things.

"I suppose this will make getting back to town a little difficult?"

"A little…" Killua sighed, "I suppose… well, our best option is trying to make it back to the city, then we'll walk the rest of the way. I'll probably have to carry the both of you during that time, you longer than Leo."

"Oh… like that time Palm chased us."

Killua offered a chuckle at the comparison. He guesses it would kinda be like that time "Alright, hand over your harness… I'm going to have to run like I'm carrying two duffle bags at my side."

Putting the harness over his own, he moved the two side weapons to his back, so he doesn't stab one of them accidentally, while he was running. Once the gear was connected correctly, Killua picked up Leo with his good arm and Daniel with his hurt arm. Although he winced, he made sure not to show it "I would tell you to hold on…"

"Are you sure this is safe…?" Leo once more asked, his body tucked under Killua's arm like a duffle bag.

Killua braced himself, "You'll be fine… I've done this before." Without warning, he bolted back towards the city, Leo screaming as his face rushed past everything.

"~"

Even though Alluka still wore the clothes, she didn't get redressed, she instead walked through the aisle of clothing, looking at individual pieces "How will I know if they'll fit my brother or his partner?"

"Hold it up, and I'll let you know. I can roughly estimate their body type… if it'll fit. Perfectly, now that would be hard to say without proper measurements… but we could get close. Whether it's a little bit loose, or a little tight on them, them trying it on will have to be our best bet. Now, remember, try to grab things you'd think or know they won't wear… it's a disguise… not a fashion show." The woman chuckled, earning a small laugh out of Alluka in the process.

It was so hard to gauge her brother, given that he has worn a variety of clothes… he might have worn even more when he was on assassination jobs. She didn't get to see everything he wore then, so she might pick something Killua would ultimately wear.

Rather than focusing on her brother first, she decided to look for Daniel first.

Killua may have upgraded his wardrobe versatility, but even Daniel has a type of style… While short shorts… were out of the question when it comes to dressing him up, Daniel doesn't like to wear jeans as much. He'd rather wear loose fitted pants.

Maybe slim fit… Alluka thought as she went through the pants, pulling out a pair of pants that fit the description "Too skinny…"

Alluka put it back, this time pulling out a pair a little looser "Too short."

The two went at it, Ashton now getting out to help the poor girl sort through her mess. Eventually, they found a pair, Dark green that will be difficult to pair with something else, it was something that would fit the boy, while also keeping with the task they were going for.

"Do you have tank tops… or something similar."

Ashton searched through a few aisles of clothing, trying to find something that would match. Daniel likes t-shirts and dress shirts… nothing else.

Alluka then found something, something Daniel or Killua would never be caught in. A fill Down Vest. It'll work better for her brother's partner "This…?"

"It'll fit him… but it'll be tight. So, he won't be able to zip it…"

"Perfect?"

"Are you trying to make him look like a vagrant?"

"No…?"

Ashton sighed, "if you're gonna pick that for him, get a lumberjack short sleeve shirt like…" She picked out a black and white variation, with thin green stripes that went through it, "this…"

"Perfect. Daniel's going to like this… well, he won't like it per se, but it's a perfect disguise for him. Big brother is going to be a little difficult."

"Well… what does he like to wear?"

As Alluka listed his styles, Ashton began to sweat. Killua would almost, wear everything she has in her wardrobe, on a casual afternoon, "Oof… very difficult."

"You, see?"

"What if…" Ashton thought about the situation, wondering if it could work. She may have something in Killua's size, but it's going to need to be a mix of something he would wear, with something he wouldn't… "How about something militaristic…?"

The woman went through Killua's sizes, trying to find something matching. She managed to pull together a three-piece set, showing it off to the young girl. A pair of green and dark green camo pants, a dark blackish-green button-up shirt and a brown aviator style pilot jacket.

"Killua wouldn't wear that…"

Ashton looked at the set, then back to Alluka "Isn't that the point?"

"No, I mean he wouldn't wear that… maybe a different jacket?"

The woman rolled her eyes, turning back to go through the jackets, this time pulling out a slightly darker brown bomber jacket, with a military spin to it.

Alluka looked it over before giving a smile, "That's good!"

"Now that we got these covered… might as well bring you to the wigs, hopefully, we can pick one out before they get-"

"We're back!"

"Speaking of the devils…" The woman clapped her hands together, gesturing for the girl to throw what she picked out for Daniel, over to her. When Alluka threw the clothes, Ashton caught them before gesturing to the girl "Distract your brother and partner. I'll hide this. When they're gone, we'll pick out a wig for them."

When the girl left, Ashton moved to the wardrobe, opening it up. Much to her dismay, the wardrobe was packed tightly. Oh, no… this is going to take a while. I hope Alluka can figure out how to distract them for a long time…

"~"

When the elevator 'dinged', Killua got off first, carrying Danie princess style through the long hallways "We're back!" He screamed, hoping that Alluka and Ashton could hear him, where ever they were.

Killua moved in the direction of where they ate in the morning, Leo still following behind him. As much as he wanted to send the other off to do something else, he had a more pressing issue, namely, trying to figure out how much he had hurt his partner.

There was no denying it…

During their practice session, while trying to prove to each other, yet, again… they managed to hurt each other. Killua hurt his arm; the same one he had been carrying his partner with.

He was lucky he could support his partner through the pain and not drop him onto the floor by accident.

The moment he managed to lay his partner down, Killua heard his name being called.

"Big brother?"

"In here… where we ate."

"Oh, I was wondering where you-" The girl stopped when she rounded the corner, already noticing something was wrong. The two can dress it up as much as they like, arguing that absolutely nothing was wrong.

But the moment her eyes landed on Daniel; she knew something was wrong "You hurt Daniel again…" she stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Again?" Leo looked at the girl in disbelief, before turning back to the boys, "So it isn't the first time they went overkill on practice."

Killua rolled his eyes, "Instead of assuming, can you get a first aid kit? I want the bandages, specifically…"

When Leo ran off, the boy pointed at Alluka, "You. The first time was by… accident?"

Killua tilted his head slightly, observing Alluka's new wardrobe. Should he be concerned, or is this just a moment of Alluka trying something new "What's with your getup?"

Alluka looked down. She had forgotten to get changed before heading back to her brother. Now she's going to have to explain why she was wearing boy's clothing "Well, you see…"

"Should I be concerned…?" The boy looked at his sister in disbelief, now slightly worried about her frame of mind.

"I'll explain later. For now, we should be worried about your boyfriend who's hurt."

Killua sighed in defeat. She was right, in this instance, Daniel was the one who he should be worried about. Alluka showed no signs of stress, so her wearing the clothing mustn't be doing her any harm "Okay, you're right. May I point out, that this time was also an accident, but from a lack of understanding of our bodies. We were stiff… out of practice, so we ended up getting each other good."

"Oh, no…" Daniel sat up, wincing from the pain in his leg. Killua directed him to lay back down, but the boy was more concerned for his partner "What did I hurt?" He grabbed his partner by both shoulders, staring directly into his lover's eyes. For a split second, he thought he saw a glint of pain in his partner's eyes.

But the neutral expression made it hard to judge properly "How did I hurt you?"

"Calm down…" Killua grabbed the hand on his broken shoulder, moving it back to his boyfriend's side "You haven't seriously harmed me. I'm a lot tougher than I look."

"I know, but-"

"It's fine…" Killua moved the other hand, "you haven't hurt me. But I'll admit, you did get me good… so either you're improving, or my lack of recent training has made me too soft."

"Here." Leo came back, holding out a thick stack of binds. Then he saw Alluka, her changed attire "Ah…?"

"I took your advice…"

Killua shook his head, shocked at the reveal "I'm sorry, what? Leo was the one that made you wear boy's clothing…?"

"I didn't make her…" Leo reinforced, "I suggested it… seeing as she was looking for possible avenues on figuring out her identity. That was my suggestion… seeing as you're not stressing out, I assume it doesn't affect you, as it did for me?"

"No, it did not…" Alluka smiled, "Now back to the boy with the broken leg."

"It's not broken…" Killua clarified, the boy took the bandage with a frown, "He'll be okay." Turning back to his partner, his gaze then shifted back to his sister "Wait, where's Ashton?"

"Busy…" Alluka muttered quickly, her brother now raising an eyebrow at her. Could he see through her lie, or was he hoping she would elaborate on the statement "She's doing a quick job and will be out to greet us, hopefully soon?"

"I think Daniel needs rest, more than a greeting…" Killua looked back at his partner, "honesty only…" Resting a hand on his lover's leg, he pressed his fingertips into the soft tissue, just hard enough for Daniel to feel the pressure "is this sore?"

"A little…"

Killua squeezed the leg a little tighter, making his partner wince in pain, "I said honesty, only…"

"Alright…" When Killua's grip loosed, Daniel sighed in defeat, "Right leg is sore."

"Stiffness…?"

"No, it's more tender than anything."

Killua prodded it in a few places, taking note of how Daniel winced. It didn't look fractured, so it must be something else. It may have to do with over-exhaustion, mixed with the accidental earlier misstep. The boy's eyes moved to the foot, grabbing it, he moved it from left to right.

He saw Daniel holding in a scream, a single tear falling. Killua sighed in frustration, "Alright… you, definitely… dislocated it. Given previous times… I'd say in a couple of days you'll be fine to move. A week at maximum, before you're as fit as a fiddle."

Daniel pouted. As much as he trusted his partner to speak on his behalf, he really, hopes it isn't a week. They can't afford to delay practice for that long. Plus, he runs the risk of breaking his most recent promise… not that Killua would bring it up while there are others in the room.

Daniel brought up his hand, touching his partner's face "Let's hope it's not a week…"

Killua touched his partner's hand out of habit, a warm smile breaking through his neutral expression "I know… but, health comes first."

Leo turned away, a feeling of disgust seeping into the pit of his stomach. Something about sweet gestures turns him off. Was it because of how he was treated, or something else that was making him this way? "I'll tell Ashton about what happened…" He found himself stopping for a moment, "But, given from what I could see and tell from this afternoon… I hope I'm never put in a spot where I'll be forced to learn Nen. It's scary to think about…"

Before either of them could question the boy, he was walking away.

Killua looked over to his sister, "So, what happened with you?" He gestured to Alluka's attire "What did we miss out on?"

Alluka offered a smile, "I learnt a bit… I'm not scared about the end goal, to figure out more about myself. Although, I do know one thing… Ashton is right, what I feel and how Leo feels are two completely different things. I know that you'll respect my decision and that will make me feel like the luckiest person."

The boy raised an eyebrow, "That's good… but a little concerning considering how you word it."

"So… as you can see, I tried on boy's clothing…"

"And…?"

"I didn't feel any different. I wasn't disgusted… I wasn't happy… I was perplexed. But the moment I undid my hair… even while still wearing boy's clothing, I could see myself. I like girlish things… I like who I am, no matter what I'm wearing, or how I'm presenting. I know that no matter what, my brother will continue to love me."

Killua stood up, bringing his arms around his sister with a smile. He parted some of her hair, before kissing her on the forehead. He loves Alluka. No matter how much changes, he'll continue to love her, or however, Alluka wants him to refer to her.

"I would…" The boy's expression melted, "I'd love you no matter what happens… But if a partner hurts you, they better be prepared to be buried six feet under."

Alluka fumed, "You've hurt Daniel a lot of times… you're lucky Zaikaria hasn't buried you six feet under."

"She has you there…"

"I like to see her try…" Killua gave his partner a wicked grin, "I'd like to see her try…" He repeated it, this time more slowly… with a deadly connotation behind his words.

Daniel shook his head at the situation, unable to help himself but smile. Even though it's considered a threat, Killua deeply cares about him. The type of harm he's experienced, is much different, from what Alluka was talking about.

The type of harm Zaikaria would kill Killua over… is if he ever breaks his heart. Somehow, he doesn't see that happening.
