Chapter 2: What's your fantasy?
Later, after shift and arriving home, they had a quick breakfast before heading towards their bedroom so they could get ready for bed, then once they were settled in, cuddled up to one another, there was a few minutes of silence before he spoke softly while running his hand up and down her bare arm since she was wearing a tank top.
"So, what's your fantasy?"
Sara, without hesitation, smiled as she snuggled further in his arms. "I'm living it...I've been living it for almost a year now as a matter of fact."
He stilled his hand on her forearm and asked in a somewhat surprised tone. "What?"
She moved up so she could look down at him, and with emotion in her voice, she spoke while cupping his bearded cheek. "Before we became official, I fantasized moments like this, and many others, with you, so I'm living my fantasy every day." She ran her thumb up and down his cheek as she finished with tears in her eyes "You are my fantasy come true."
Grissom opened his mouth to speak but no words came out, so he did the only thing he could think of doing, he cupped her cheek and ran his thumb up and down while he moved up so they could share a kiss that was short and sweet before he pulled and asked softly, like he still can't believe she's here with him saying these words. "Me?"
Sara nodded with another smile and more tears in her eyes. "Always, I don't need anything or anyone else but you, Gilbert Grissom."
Their eyes immediately went dark with desire, and it didn't take them long for their lips to touch passionately, both pouring it on as she leaned back, taking him with her, never letting up.
But no matter how passionate things got between them, before anything else happened, he pulls back slowly and looked down at her, asking with his eyes if she wanted to continue, which like most of the times, she gives him a short nod with a smile, then moved her hands to the hem of his t-shirt, so he moved back, taking her with him this time.
With their eyes still connected they took each other's top layer of clothing off before he gently laid her down and moved above her, kissing one another passionately again, but before they took things even further, Grissom was moving his lips down to her neck, which she moved her head to the side to give him better access as she asked with her eyes closed and heart racing as her hand moved up and down his bare back.
"And what's your fantasy?"
He gives her one more kiss to her neck before pulling back, her eyes opening at the missed contact, and while both of them were trying to control their breathing, Grissom replied with passion in his eyes. "Just being with you as well."
She smiled as she moved her hand to cup his cheek. "Then it seems like we are both are living out our greatest fantasy."
He nodded with a smile. "And enjoying every moment of it."
She surprised him a moment later when she moved them quickly, so she was now on him as she replied passionately. "You got that right, Dr. Grissom."
After getting over the shock from the sudden change in positions, he smiled as he ran his hands up her body so he could cup her cheek and bring her down to him, kissing her again, both getting lost in one another.
Afterwards, once again they were cuddled together, but this time a sheet, that went up to her chest and his waist, were their only cover they had over them. He kissed her head before they both sighed in content, then she smiled while taking his hand in hers so she could slip her fingers through it.
"Do you remember our first intimate night together?"
He smiled while running his thumb up and down on the back of her hand, his mind taking him back to that day and night.
Flashback
Mid-June, 2007
It had been a month since they started to officially date, and while there were a few eyebrows raised, no one had commented when Sara and Grissom took the sane night off, their first real night off together since they became a couple, so like they had done from pretty much night one, they woke up in her bed together (They would alternate every few days on whose bed they'll be sleeping in), which was still used only for sleep, cuddling, the occasional breakfast in bed, and kissing, nothing beyond that has happened between them yet, despite them both feeling they were ready to take the next step in their relationship, they just hadn't voiced it to one another.
As they were waking up and getting their bearings together, Sara smiled, the same, bright, joyous smile she's been sprouting for a month now, at least it was this bright when they were alone so no one can think something drastic had changed in her life. "Good morning."
Grissom's heart fluttered at seeing the happy look she was giving him, which that reaction, when it came to her, was nothing new, it just happened more often now, knowing more times than not who he'll be spending his mornings, afternoons and evenings with, who he'll be waking up next to, it was a part of his life he wished he had gotten sooner, and he would have if he hadn't been so stupid.
He mentally shook his head, not wanting to think about anything negative right now, before moving his hand to cup her cheek as he whispered. "Good morning to you too, sleep well?" He then gets concerned. "Any nightmares?"
While she still would get them, so far, since they've been sharing a bed, they hadn't been that bad.
She shook her head with a smile as she moved her hand up to his. "Not a one this morning, so I slept very well."
He nodded with a smile as he moved closer to her. "Good."
Then after kissing her forehead, he pulled back and she asked while moving so they were more eye-level again. "So, seeing as we have the night off, what are our plans this evening?"
He ran his thumb up and down her cheek with another smile. "I want to take you out on a date."
Sara started to smile again. "Out?"
With them having to hide their relationship, they didn't get many opportunities to actually go out, because one, when either or both were on call they couldn't go very far, and two they feared they'll run into someone they are not 'suppose' to, so their dates, or what they considered their real dates, was mostly going to either place, him cooking them a meal, putting on a movie or tv show and cuddling on the couch, which neither one was complaining about the circumstances since they waited so long to share this experience together, but sometimes they do wish they could go out like a 'normal' couple and not worry about on who could be watching them.
He nodded with another smile. "Yes, out."
A little more excitement was building up in her as she asked. "And where are we going?"
He leaned towards her with a smirk. "For me to know, and you to find out later tonight."
Her small pout was cut off when his lips touched hers softly, which she deepened it almost instantly before his left hand went into her hair as her hand moved up to his cheek then to the back of his neck.
Before things took a very romantic/passionate turn, he slows them down and pulls back, placing his forehead to hers, trying to catch his breath. "Sara..."
She cuts him off reassuringly. "It's ok, I know you're not ready."
He wanted to tell her that he was, that he had been for a while, but he didn't want to have this conversation now, it wasn't the right moment just in case it did lead there, so he said nothing and she kissed him softly on the lips before moving, which caused him to move from above her and back on 'his' side of the bed, so she could get out of bed and head to the restroom while Grissom sighed as he flopped back on his back and looked up at the ceiling, trying to control his racing heart and pulse before he got out of bed and head to the kitchen to make them some lunch.
Later that night
Grissom wanted to treat this like an authentic date, so he ended up leaving her place a few hours after they had their lunch so he could come back and pick her up when it was time, which Sara found that extremely adorable when he explained why he had to leave when he already had some clothes at her place, so she just went with it and let him have his moment.
After it seemed like forever for both of them, there was a knock on her door a few hours later, so Sara, dressed in somewhat casual clothing like Grissom had suggested, she opened it with a smile. "Hi."
Grissom smiled in return. "Hi, you ready to go?"
She nodded as she took her jacket from the coat rack on the door. "Yep, just waiting on you."
After making sure she had her keys, she walked out the door and locked it before they started walking down the hall, his hand slipping into her hers without hesitation, which surprised her a little since they were outside the comfort of their homes, and he just gave her that boyish smile she loved so much as he spoke. "I want this to be a real date." She wanted to point out that all of their dates so far had been real ones, but she just nodded with a smile and squeezed his hand.
As they were driving to the destination that he wanted there was very little talking going on, with him hoping and wishing she'll like what he had planned while she was wondering where he was going, especially once he stopped on the side of the road when there were no buildings in sight, only trees in every direction she looked, so she asked with a small smirk. "Uh, Griss, why are we here? Are you trying to find a place to hide my body?"
He chuckled while looking over at her before 'No dear' slipped out of his mouth, which was his first endearment towards her since they became a couple, and that seemed to have surprised her a little more than him since he just took his keys out of the ignition and got out of the vehicle like it was a normal thing for him to say to her.
A moment later, after he had opened the door to the backseat to grab a picnic basket, he opened the passenger side door, where she was still sitting there a little stunned at what she heard, so he asked in concern. "Sara? Are you ok?"
She shook her head with a smile. "Uh yeah."
He helped her out of the vehicle while asking. "Then what got you so stunned?"
She shook her head again. "It's just you called me 'dear' with no hesitation, like you've been saying it for years."
He then gets a shy look on his face as he closed the door. "Oh, was that not a good..."
She cuts him off while cupping his cheek. "It's a very good thing, Griss. I loved hearing it, it's just something I am going to have to get use to."
His eyes sparkled with a nod while he moved his free hand up to touch her hand with his so he could slip his fingers through hers again. After staring at one another for what felt like forever, he cleared his throat before turning so he could lead her down a small hill, which they were about halfway down this hill when Sara recognized the location.
They were here about a year ago for a crime scene, their relationship or should she say their friendship at the time was better than ever and he had made a comment about a good place for stargazing while she let it slip that she was told it was a good make-out place.
She was smiling while she thought of that conversation and Grissom asked once the ground they were walking on was now even. "What?"
"I just remember the last time we were here, the conversation we had." Before he could speak, she asked. "So, are we here to do a little stargazing?"
He smiled as he moved his mouth closer to her ear. "And maybe a little more, I heard this was a good make-out place as well."
Once again that night he made her stunned, causing her to stop for a moment while he chuckled and tugged on her hand so she could start walking again with another smile.
After they made it to the right spot, Grissom sets the picnic basket down, slipped his hand out of hers, which both were missing the contact instantly, so he could get the blanket out of the basket and place it down on the ground, then he sits down and holds out his hand towards her with a smile.
She smiled in return while taking his hand before he helped her down, then moments later they were laying down, looking up at the dark sky, where there were so many stars to see, it was beautiful.
It could have been hours passed for all they knew or cared, when she finally spoke, almost breathless just from looking up at the sky. "You're right, Griss, this is a great place for stargazing, this is beautiful."
He turned his head to look over at her with a smile and sparkle in his eyes. "So, you like it?"
She smiled as she turned to look at him. "I love it, thank you for thinking of doing this, for taking me out tonight."
He sighed as he turned his body so it was facing her. "I know our situation isn't ideal..."
She cuts him off as she moved closer to him so she could cup his cheek. "And you'll never hear me complain about it. I know this is the way it has to be done right now, I get that, and I honestly don't care what we are doing for our dates, just as long as we are sharing them together. I've waited a long time for these moments with you and I'm not taking any of them for granted."
He smiled again as he reached and cupped her cheek. "Someday I'll take you out to a movie and dinner."
She ran her thumb up and down his cheek. "I'll look forward to it, but right now I am quite content on keeping you to myself."
His smile gets a little wider as he brings her down to her slowly. "I second that, my dear."
When their lips touched it was like a wildfire, which wasn't nothing new when it came to the two of them, but they could definitely feel the shift between one another, especially once their fingers started going for the zippers of their jackets and buttons on their shirts without much thought.
Before they went too crazy however, he pulled back, somehow remembering where they were and breathed out. "Sara..."
And like this morning, she cuts him off with a nod and reassuring smile. "I know you're not..."
But unlike this morning, he cuts her off, finally telling her how he felt. "I am ready." He sighed as he closed his eyes and placed his forehead against hers as he continued. "I've been ready for a while. Hell, the first time we kissed I was ready, if I'm being 100% honest with you, but I didn't want to do anything that would screw us up, this is just too important to me."
Sara, who also had her eyes closed, moved her hand up and down his back as she whispered in return. "This is important for me too, you know that, right?"
He moved a little so he could look down at her once both eyes were opened and he nodded his head with a smile. "I do."
She moved her hand to cup his cheek with a smile and love in her eyes. "And I love you so much, this last month with you has been a long-time dream coming true, I've enjoyed every moment we've shared, but I am ready for more." She then smirked, repeating his words from a moment ago. "Hell, if I was being 100% honest with you, I was ready the first time we kissed too."
He chuckled at first, then while seeing that love and truth in her eyes, made his heart race even more than it was before as he replied. "I love you too, I've never loved anyone as much as I do you."
She ran her thumb up and down his cheek as she whispered. "Then if we are both ready and we know how real our love is for one another, what are we waiting for?"
He shook his head again. "I don't know."
She brings him down to her this time, whispering one more time. "Then let's not wait any longer."
Their lips touched softly before he whispers against them. "And as much as I would love for us to not wait, we should wait just a bit longer." She groaned in frustration as he pulled back with a chuckle. "Well dear, like you said, you heard this was a good make-out spot, so I'm sure we aren't the only people who knows about this place, and I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want an audience."
She chuckled with a nod. "I guess you have a point there, so let's get out of here."
He nodded, then after one more soft kiss, he moves from her and after she gets up, he folds the blanket up and places it in the picnic basket before taking her hand and they headed back up to his vehicle, which both of them realized they were walking a little quicker than they had when they got there.
While he was driving, it was decided they would go to his place, mostly because it was closer, and once they got there, he quickly got out of the vehicle, rushed to her side of the vehicle and opened the door to help her out, then when he made no move towards the back to get the picnic basket, she asked. "What about the picnic basket?"
He waved it off as he was leading them towards the front door of his townhouse, quite quickly she might add. "I'll get that later."
She chuckled. "Someone is in a hurry."
He looked towards her with a smirk in return with a raised eyebrow as he started unlocking the door. "And you're not?"
She chuckled again with a nod. "Once again you make a very good point."
He had that smirk on his face while he turned his attention back to his front door while opening it, then once they were in, she was reaching for him, but he stopped her while cupping her cheek. "Just a few more minutes."
She sighed. "Griss..."
He cuts her off with a pleading look. "Please, wait right here."
Seeing the look with love mixed in, she nodded with a smile. "Ok, a few more minutes, but that's all your getting."
He smiled and kissed her forehead before moving to the hall that would lead him towards his bedroom, taking his jacket off in the process.
Exactly a few more minutes had passed when Sara started walking towards the hall that would lead her to his bedroom. "Ok, I gave a little more extra time, so ready or not, here I..." She trials off when she stops in the doorway of his room to see a few candles set up and soft music playing. She then sees him lighting the last candle, and with tears in her eyes, she spoke softly. "Griss you didn't..."
He cuts her off as he walked up to her with a smile and love in his eyes. "I wanted our first time to be a little more special."
Knowing how important he felt about this, she just cupped his cheek with a smile. "I love it, and I love you, thank you."
He took her hand and led her further into his bedroom, whispering. "I love you too, and only the best for you."
When they made it to the middle of the room, despite them wanting to be in a hurry, they held back, taking their time while removing each other's top layer of clothing, which she could tell he was a little shyer about it, even though he had been getting in better shape since they started dating, so she cupped his cheek with a reassuring smile that was filled with love and desire. "Babe, you're perfect in my eyes."
He raised an eyebrow, hearing her call him that for the first time. "Babe?"
She chuckled with a nod. "It felt like a 'babe' moment." Then she got nervous, thinking he may not like it. "Unless you..."
He cuts her off as he brings her closer to him. "I don't think I ever been anyone's 'babe' before."
With her back towards the bed, she's taking him towards it, whispering. "Well, you're mine, and always will be."
The next moment after the back of her legs hit the end of the bed, he gently laid her down before moving so he was above her.
They took another few minutes just looking at one another, seeing the love, desire and passion grow stronger as time passed by, and when it was time where they couldn't hold back any longer, they let their kissing, their touching, their lovemaking do all the talking, both knowing, which they pretty much already knew from the moment their lips touched for the first time a month ago, that no one else had, or will ever, complete the other like they do for one another. It was them, now and forever.
End of flashback
"Do you really think I wouldn't remember the best night of my life." She smiled shyly as he continued after a sigh. "But god I was so nervous, I don't think I ever been that nervous before."
She gasped in surprise at the implication of that statement and a little shocked by it because he never showed it once that night, then she lifted her head up so she could look into his eyes. "Ever?"
"Ever, and honestly anything that involves you, made me nervous."
Knowing how hard it was for him to be this open and honest sent her heart racing just a bit, before she smirked a little. "Do I still make you nervous?"
He smiled as he brings her hand to his lips and kissed it before he sighed again. "Not as much, but I think a part of me will always be a little nervous when it comes to you, hoping and wondering if I am doing enough for..."
She cuts him off with a reassuring smile and loving look. "Griss, believe me, you do more than enough for me in every way, especially showing me how much you love me, and if you are still worried about making it up to me from the past, then don't be, it's over and done with. Now is about our future, a future that I want to be filled with nothing but joyous moments, no matter how unrealistic that request may be."
He smiled wider while moving his body so they were eye-level and their lips close, he whispered. "And I'll try everything in my power to make that unrealistic request possible."
She started to smile wider, but was cut off when his lips touched hers, not that she minded. In fact, she was the one who deepened it and started pulling him down with her again, this time not letting him stop for a moment.
AN: Hope the wait wasn't too much of a disappointment. I'll slowly add more to this story when I get the inspiration and time to do so, thanks for reading and please review.
