I Got Reincarnated! - Kitsune Chronicles
~Chapter 7~ Getting to know you
"Ridurd. Ridur. Help the evacuation process and make sure everyone is safe. I already ordered the Wolf riders to start evacuating the village in case something like this happens." Kayo ordered the goblins, not taking her eyes off the threat that seemed to be getting more powerful by the second. "Yes, Lord Kayo." Rigurd nodded to her along with his son and went to follow her orders, watching out for the growing threat.
"You three get out of here too. This isn't something you can fight." Kayo wanted the group who were frozen behind her, not having ever seen Shizu do something like this while they traveled with her for so long.
Now...
The woman was floating in the air surrounded by a twister of hellish red fire...
Her dark eyes now a light like flames, and it seemed like tears also built up in her eyes as she looked down at them. Her tears evaporating as the fire surrounded her again only this time when it exploded outward Shizu was no longer at the center. Instead, was a dark-skinned humanoid creature with hair of fire, a strange crown on horns on his forehead and those same flaming eyes on a handsome face that held a deep scowl for everything alive.
"The fire sprit, Ifrit..." Kayo heard the name from the humans who looked on in disbelief at the enemy before them.
'Sprit? Well shit, we will be lucky to come out of this alive.' Kayo thought worriedly as around her paws was some small white flames, she had learned to use the night before. It only got worse as the Fire Sprit gave out a loud cry that caused the air around it to be pushed back, thinking quickly Kayo used her tails to hold onto the three Humans, her fur acting as protection from the shock waves as 3 pillars of flames erupted form the ground.
Kayo and Ranga held their ground as the slime watched, still trying to process what was happing when 3 demons like Monster appeared form the flames and flew over the village... pouring embers over the tents to burn them to the ground. Thankfully the goblins had been evacuated safely to a bunker along with the dwarves and tempest wolves.
"Danm It! We just built all that!" Rimuru yelled out, as Kayo growled. "Never mind the tents, we can rebuild but we need to be alive to do it slime ball!" she scowled her brother as she unwrapped her tails form around the scared humans who looked very shaken as they fell to the ground after being let go. "Get out of here. We can buy you time to escape, go now." Kayo told them as she ignited the white flames a bit more so they reached her elbows, her eyes looking around for a way to get at the sprit and defeat him... as words probably wouldn't have worked on him at the moment.
"We can't do that." Kayo heard Kaval say as he and the other two stood up, he drew his sword as Eren raised her staff and Gido pulled out his short blade, coming to stand beside the black kitsune to stand against the fire sprit.
"I don't know why she's suddenly out for blood..."
"But she is one of Us." Dido added, ready to fight for his life.
"We can't just leave her." Eren spoke with determination Kayo had to admire, even if it was a bit misplaced.
'Fools.' Kayo thought as the fire sprit was not going after them aster the tents had been burned to ash.
"Let's just survive this thing. Protect each other, I will draw their fire." Kayo told them and ran ahead using the white flames she had to go at the flying creatures that predictably went after her. "Kayo!" The fox Heard Rimuru yell for her, as the flying demons spit fire balls as her and she easily dogged with swiftness. "Take them out Rimuru! You're out best bet!" Kayo yelled at him as she weaved and doges them, only get hit once, much to the horror of Eren... only, Kayo didn't burn as the red flames turned white as they surrounded the black kitsune. The creatures seemed shocked to see the flames where not burring their target.
"Ranga!" Kayo called out at she saw the tempest wolf having a hard time with the heat, as she passed him some of the white flames jumped to him and Rimuru.
"Ah! Kayo what are you doing!?" Rimuru yelled as he saw Ranga on fore but the flames did nothing to him or the wolf who seemed relieved. "Thank you, Lord Kayo!" he said as he didn't have to worry about the heat or the flames as he ran threw them with ease. Great Sage was already analyzing this new skill before informing Rimuru of it.
Kitsune Fox Fire: Frost Flames
Creates a protection from flames and heat around the user's body. It can be passed on to protect others but will drain the magicules of the user the father away the user is and the stronger the protection.
"Frost Flames?" Rimuru was shocked Kayo had this skill, and it seemed to flying creatures where more interested in Kayo now that the white flames only covered her paws. Then he saw Eren cast ice magic and... It injured one of the winged creatures.
This gave the slime an idea as Kayo drew their attention and used some of the white flames as an attack on the creatures but not able to hit them as her mail gold was to keep them away from the group of humans.
"Eren! Fire that attack at me!" He called out to her as she looked over confused and shocked at the slime's words.
"Huh?! Um I don't know if I can..." Eren was of course hesitant to attack him but with Kayo quickly ruing out of magicules to protect Ranaga, her natural resistant to fire had to be counted upon. Leaping up she caught one of the flying creatures in her mouth... and built up the white flames much to the creature's pain as she 'burned' half of it with the frost fire.
"Yes!" Kayo cheered at the small victory as she saw Ranga lapping over the other creatures. Only the white flames had disappeared from around the tempest wolf as Kayo started to feel dizzy as the edge of her vision started to turn black. Rumuru took care of the other two with ease but the one she had attack was still moving... and head form the humans, Kayo moved without thinking as she ran to the humans and curled around them, using her remaining magicules to increase her size to become a protective fur ball around the three humans before the last creature exploded in a last attempt to take them out.
"Kayo!" Rimuru called out in worry as the flames cleared, Ranag ran over, and the slime hopped off his back. "Kayo! Kayo! Are you okay!?" he asked her worriedly as he saw her tails move aside and the three humans immerged form her black fur.
"Lord Kayo, she protected us." Eren voiced her shock as the black kitsune became the little fox kit again. "Yeah, we only got a little singed thanks to her." Kaval added as he looked at himself and his party. They only suffered surface damage, but the little fox kit had taken the blunt of the kamikaze attack. Eren reached out and picked the fox kit up, only to notice some blood that soaked into her clothes. "She's hurt!" she informed the slime worriedly, but he threw what looked like a splash on water on her that healed the kitsune and the human holding her.
"Right, please take care of her... I will deal with Ifrit myself. No one hurts my little sister and gets away with it." Rimuru declared as he glared at the Flame sprit with conviction. Eren held onto Kayo tightly, the fox kit had used up her magicules and was now in a deep sleep to recover them, but Rimuru's healing did help the little fox with more than just her physical injuries.
~Kayo's Mind~
"Where... Am I?" Kayo asked as she sat in the middle of a small peaceful clearing, curled up in her little kit form surrounded by emerald, green trees and lush bushes, the sun was shining softly as the kit was in some soft grass with small blue flowers dotted around.
"In your mind."
Kayo froze as she heard a strange voice that was also familiar to her. Sharp golden eyes looked around until they fell upon a woman sitting on a stump of a tree, smiling at a shocked Kayo.
"You... your me? From before-" Kayo choaked on her words as tears appeared in her eyes as she looked at her former self... well her teen aged self any way.
She had been a short but slender girl with curves that made all the girls jealous, even more so was her naturally tan skin and dark curly hair that never seemed to look horrible. Dressed in a beautiful red dress much like Jessaca Rabbit wore, only with no sparkles or cartoonish proportions. No makeup was on her face save for some sparkly lip gloss, her full long lashes framing her now golden eyes.
"From before you gave up on yourself." The other Kayo finished but the fox kit shook her head. "No... Grandma died... and I couldn't keep doing those stupid plays." she corrected but the young woman scoffed. "People die, you killed your own passion just because it was easier then fighting with our egg and sperm doners." she scowled as the mention of the couple who had created her human self.
"They were right though. I should have worked harder and tried to make more money sooner... not try and be an actress. It got me now where but ending back home with mom until she died." the kit recalled, and part of the forest was replaced by a stage... showing Kayo's harsh mother ordering her to do the house chores in their tiny home that was filled with all her mother's 'treasures'.
"Be honest, it was only a matter of time before her junk went and killed her." The other kayo reasoned as the 'play' went on and Kayo's mother was trying to reach for something on a pile of junk before she fell over off her chair. Calling for Kayo as she couldn't get back up... she struggled and grabbed at something that was wedged under another pile that ended up toppling over the large woman, she struggled for hours in pain calling for Kayo.
The fox kit whined and covered her ears to block out the woman's voice that pierced her skull.
"Anna! Where are you! Get over here I fell! Get this off of me! Anna! Anna! Your lazy girl! I wish I never took you back!" the woman yelled for her eldest daughter who was shaking as she recalled her mother's voice calling for her but... she ignored it as she was listening to the music of a popular Broadway musical it at the time.
"Your name isn't Anna... What's your name?" The human Kayo asked, fox Kayo was still covering her ears to drown out her mother's voice.
"What's your name?" the other Kayo asked coming over to the kit as he loomed over her and asked again as she got closer. "What's your name?" she asked slowly as Kayo, pulled her paws off her ears, her golden eyes wide as she was in her child form with fox ears and tails.
"My name is Kayo Tempest~ and there's a million things I haven't done. So just you wait, just you wait~." Kayo started to sign as she got up on her small legs and the stage and her 'mother' disappeared, leaving only the two Kayos and the forest that had turned into a stary night with a full moon over head. The older Kayo smirked as her eyes glowed in the dark as the younger one looked in her direction and saw other pairs of glowing golden eyes watching her.
"We all have our eyes on you~." the older Kayo sang along with some other strange voices she recognized, then Kayo started to wake up from her forced sleep.
~Waking World~
"Hmmmgh?" Kayo slowly opened her eyes as her vision was blurry but she could feel someone's hand running over her head and back in a smoothing motion, but they stopped.
"Lord Kayo?" Kayo's ear twitched as she looked up, her vision focusing in on the blond human who beamed down at her. "Lord Kayo, good morning! I'm so glad your all right! I was so worried." the girl voiced and gently hugged the little fox who wasn't moving much and looked over Eren's shoulder to see the other two.
"Ah, your finally awake. Thanks for taking the attack for us. Your fluff saved our butts." Kaval praised and reached out and pet the kitsune, she allowed it even if his hands where rough. "We owe you big time. Your bother even healed us up once he took care of Ifrit." Gido informed her as he held up some jerky for the little fox to eat and she did hungerly.
"Don't worry about it. I'm just glad everyone is safe... how's Shizu?" Kayo asked, wanting to know what happened to the woman her bother was so interested in. Only the humans got quiet at the name being mentioned.
"Oh, your brother said he would take care of her; they are in his tent right now. Shizu was really badly hurt but his potions are miracle workers so she will be fine, right? Do you want to go see them?" Eren asked as she let Kayo hop out of her arms and onto the floor where she changed into her child form which looked to be about 10 or so in human years. Kayo left her ears and tails out since the group already knew, plus it was uncomfortable hiding her tails.
"Yeah, you guys go eat. I will check up on them myself." Kayo told them and walked out of their tent.
The smell of burnt wood and cloth reached her noise, but the scent of burnt goblin or wolf was nowhere so it put her at ease to see everyone getting to work on clean up and repairs. Of course, she had to stop and lend a hand, digging up a slightly singed doll for a child who was grateful to have it back. Never mind the many goblins who offered her food and water on her way to see Rimuru.
"Agh those wells where a good idea. Saved a few tents so we have some where to store food. Agh! What a pain in the ass." Kaijin grumbled as he and the dwarf brothers helped rebuild. "At least the foundation is alright, we can use bricks and mortar with very little wood in the new houses. Should help give a little fire proofing." Kayo mentioned as she helped the Dwarves come up with better building designs.
Kayo got sidetracked as she was asked to help with a birth, a goblina she had helped match with her 'true love' was pregnant had given birth to two healthy little goblins, she named Goblena and Gotena for the parents.
"Thank you so much, Lord Kayo. It is an honor to have you name my children you helped us to create." the goblina praised her as Kayo smiled at the small family, the goblin gushing and crying over his new babies with his wife, they seemed truly happy, and Kayo felt a bit of pain in her chest. Brushing it off she cleaned up from the after birth and went back on track to see Rimuru and Shizu, only to meet up with the adventures again.
"Hey, where you going to see your brother and Shizu a while ago?" Kaval asked as he saw her come out of another surviving tent. "I was, but the village needs me. I have the responsibility if big brother isn't taking care of it or busy." Kayo reasoned as she looked at the flowers Eren had with her, and pondering if they had some meaning or they just picked some random wildflowers.
"You're so responsible Lord Kayo, but please don't neglect your health too." Gido spoke as he admired the little kitsune. "Don't worry, once the village has enough shelter, I can kick back and maybe go on a small quest myself... say... would it be possible to join your guild once I'm stronger?" Kayo asked the as Eren beamed.
"Yes! I'm sure the guild would welcome you, Lord Kayo! Then you could join us!" Eren gushed. "Hey don't go making big decisions like that. I'm the leader here." Kaval argued as they made their way to Rimuru's tent. "What's stopping me form becoming the leader instead?" Kayo teased and he gasped as the other two laughed. "I wouldn't mind following Lord Kayo." Gido mussed and Eren giggled and nodded. "Our cute and Fluffy leader!" she added, and Kaval looked betrayed and Kayo had to assure him she wasn't going to replace him.
Once they got to the tent, they met up with Ranga who was waiting outside and Rigurd who had a change of clothes for Shizu. Kayo got licked in the face by Ranga who was relieved to see she was okay she had to hold the wolf's mouth shut to get him to stop. Rigurd was first to go into the tent... but didn't see Shizu or Rimuru but a blue haired person standing naked in the middle of the tent, she and the others also looked in, confused why the goblin king had paused and saw the person for themselves.
"Master?" Ranaga popped his head in to see what was going on, as Kayo and the humans looked on in shock.
"Th-that's... Rimuru?" Kaval asked as the person turned to look at them, tears coming down their pale cheek form familiar golden eyes. "Why... does he look like..." Kayo asked but noticed Shizu's body was nowhere to be found and a chilling truth came to her. 'She asked me to.' came Rimuru's thoughts as Kayo's instincts took over, her body moved without thinking as she got the robs from Rigurd and slipped it onto the new naked form of her brother... and hugged him as he was still in a bit of shock. He was slow to embrace her back but leaned on her and cried quietly as the Kitsune rubbed his back to sooth him.
~Later~
"That was an eventful day." Kayo sighed as they had seen off their new friends with new gear made by Kaijin and the 3-dwarf bothers. Gibo was really happy to have his equipment lined with black Void/Fire kitsune fur to help him be stealthy and take less fire and cold damage. After having said their goodbyes to 'Shizu' it was a high note for the three before they left the village in much better sprits.
All that had been left to do was make a grave marker for Shizu on a hill overlooking the village.
"You can say that again." Rimuru sighed as he finished praying for his lost love, turning back into his slime form and hoping onto Kayo's lap where she gently pats him, her strange warmth giving the slime some comfort as they sat in silence before they returned to their duties in the village.
~In The Village~
"Fox fire!" Kayo let out a large breath of orange flames over some raw meat the hunting party had brought back after having cleaned and skinned the monsters they defeated.
"It was so easy taking it down. Each of us took one down all by ourselves." Gobta boast, proud of himself and the small team of goblins and wolves that seem to have become some of the best fighters in the village.
"That's great, I wish I could test my strength against some monsters." Kayo voiced and gobta hooked his arm around her neck, the two having become good friends. "Why don't you? You're always doing something in the village you don't need to. Slack off a bit, it will be fine." Gobta told her as Kayo looked unsure. "Hey you and Ranga helped Lord Rimaru with that fire sprit. I'm sure you can handle whatever is in the Jura Forest, no problem!" the goblin assured the fox kit who was thinking about it... the idea of testing her strength, of becoming stronger, of protecting her brother and village, of being useful...
"Okay! After lunch, I'm gonna go out and fight a really big monster all on my own. Maybe several." She joked and Gobta pat her back as he laughed with her. "That's the sprit! Make sure their tasty too." he added before the meat was cooked and the village could dig into the freshly cooked meat, well not all of them, some children had milk or small nuggets Kayo had prepared for the small ones who had baby teeth barely coming in.
Kayo looked out for all the villagers, mentally counting them, using catalog to find them and make sure they were all safe.
Skill: Catalog
859 Goblins accounted for: 822 Adults, 27 toddlers or older, 10 infants that have been named
139 Tempest Wolves Accounted for: 86 Adult wolves, 53 pups from 8 litters
4 Dwarfs Accounted for
Unaccounted for: 1 Elf, 1 Slime and 1 Tempest wolf.
'Of course.' Kayo thought with a sigh but was relived it seemed everyone was okay but wasn't worried for the elf spy sent by King Garzel Dwargo. Kayo finished eating before she went to go find her brother, going to their tent first to look for him.
"Hey big br-" Kayo came into the tent without warning and her golden eyes caught site of something she was not prepared for. She screamed and covered her eyes to block out the image of an adult male Rimuru... completely naked, from the front. "Ah! Kayo! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't think you would come in!" Rimuru got rid of his 'shadow clone' quickly as he hopped to the traumatized fox child. "That was... that was the first one..." kayo was muttering as she tried to erase the image from her mind.
"First one?" Rimuru question but gasped as he realized what she meant and felt even worse now. "WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE MY BROTHER'S DICK!?" Kayo yelled loudly, so loud she was heard by the entire village and into the forest a bit that sent startled birds flying.
"Lord Rimuru! Lord Kayo! What has happened?" Rigurd came and looked at the two worriedly, his parental side showing as he picked up kayo and rocked her, rubbed her back to comfort the crying fox child. "Don't worry Lord Kayo, Ridurd is here to serve you." he told her as Kayo slowly stopped and looked up at him with some tears still in her eyes. "Now, can you tell me what happened to make you cry little one?" Rigurd asked as there was a dangerous aura around the Goblin King that got Rimuru a little scared Kayo would tell him the truth.
'Kayo~.' Rimuru thought to his sister who sniffled a bit more before responding.
"I... walked in on big bother looking at himself... with no clothes on..." Kayo responded childishly, looking away from the slime. Rigurd was confused before Kayo added. "I saw his... thing... it was my first time seeing one... and now I can't be with someone, papa." she told the protective goblin who then understood and calmed down, patting her head too sooth her.
'Papa!?' Rimuru question and what the fox was trying to do now, and quietly hoped Ridurd wouldn't turn on him.
"That's not true Lord Kayo. I'm sure you can find someone to be with. Lord Rimuru's human form does not have all the equipment that a true male has, never mind one worthy of your attention." Rigurd assured her, not knowing that Rimuru had other forms.
"Hey!" Rimuru responded, a little ticked as he realized Rigurd must have had a look at his body too.
"How about I give you a real example of a fine male specimen, Lord Kayo?" Rigurd asked and Kayo nodded, looking upset and shy but on the inside... 'Score!'
The goblin king set her down and started to flex and do the poises she had showed him before. "Now Lord Kayo let me show you how a real man's body looks like. Augh!" the once elderly goblin that looked like an old pickle was now a buff daddy flexing so much his clothes exploded off his body complexly, and exposed himself to the two saviors of his people.
Rimuru was speechless as he watched the show, and now felt a little... small with a mental comparison with the goblin and his human form, but Kayo was grinning like a fox that got its prize, blood dripped form her nose as she watched the show... and enjoyed it.
"Thank you, Rigurd. That makes me feel much better!" Kayo told him and handed him an extra set of clothes she had in her void space for just such a case... kinda. Rigurd dressed and smiled at Kayo before bidding them both goodbye and leaving the tent quickly. "Pervert." Rimuru muttered as Kayo cleaned the blood form her nose. "Birds of a feather big brother. What did you think you were doing? Trying to see your new form as an adult? Did you already see a naked female form? Or rather a naked Shizu~." Kayo asked as she leaned into the slime who was sweating as she had hit the nail right on the head.
"No..." he admitted, not having gotten to doing that before she came in. "B-but making Rigurd do that! Your shameless!" he turned it on her as she only grinned. "Oh? But being smooshed into the large busts of beautiful elven girls isn't?" she asked and Rimuru paused as he blushed... he had to admit he was a little pervy too.
"Face it, bro. We are both perverts~. I just don't care about gender." Kayo reminded him as she giggled, looking away to let him turn into his human form and get dressed in the clothes prepared for him, lined with both Ranaga's and Kayo's fur. It felt nice to have part of her with him as he could still feel her warm care threw the black fur lining in the clothes.
~Later~
"Oh! This looks useful." Kayo smiled as she carefully picked some herbs while wondering the forest and cataloging a few things. After carefully cutting the herb with her sharp nails she tucked them away into her void space for later as she went about the forest with confidence.
"It's so quiet here, I wonder if the monsters are staying far away from the village because of Gobta and the others." she questioned out loud to herself, having slipped away and gone off on her own to explore. "Well I guess I will have to go further out another time but right now I can't pass up these herbs!" Kayo gushed as she plucked some seeds and found some flowers that could be useful for the village later. Finding a fruit tree she climbed it and gathered some fruit form it for later but left some in the treat for the natural wildlife.
"Need to make sure the ecosystem doesn't collapse." she mussed sadly as she remembered her past life and how much she liked to garden, taking care of flowers and climbing her grandfather's fruit trees to get the spoils for her younger siblings and cousins... she was in a blissful state when she heard a loud noise that made her jump and look around frantically for any changes.
"What was that?" Kayo asked as her golden eyes looked around but saw nothing... and her noise didn't pick up any strange scents and her ears couldn't pick up on another creatures. "Hmm..." Kayo was suspicious but walked away, having smelled a stream. All the while a pair of familiar eyes watched the maturing little fox as she traveled.
"Is this... where I woke up?" Kayo asked as she thought the place looked familiar before shaking her head. "No, it all looks the same but... the water is running towards the village." Kayo noted and looked up stream... an unsure feeling coming over her, but she pushed it aside. Kayo turned into her fox form and ran alongside the stream, following it to where she had fallen in after being chased by those hounds... and their humans.
It was nightfall by the time Kayo recognized the forest, her fox eyes easily seeing threw the darkness as she could smell old burned wood. The scents washed away after several months had passed... Kayo could still remember the events as it played in her mind... coming up to the burned tree that had once protected her and her fox family. It was still standing but was clearly dead after being set alight by the hunters.
"Ah~ nothing like a trip down memory lane." she mussed but then started to gather some small stones and made them into an arrow, pointing to the goblin village, and then, she put her paw on a rock and set it aflame, so when she removed her paw... there was a scorch mark of her paw left on the rock that made up the tail of the arrow.
"Maybe this will bring them to the village... if not them... may be others who need a safe home." Kayo pondered as she yelped when something touched her head. Looking around she didn't see anyone again, nor hear or smell them either, making her ears pin back in slight fear.
"Okay... this is getting spooky now. It's really late too. I hope big brother isn't too worried about me." Kayo questioned as she did leave a note for the slime that she would be back the next day or meet up with the hunting party to share the spoils of her exploration. The fox kit then saw the tree where she had hidden when her fox mother kicked her out of their den. Walking over to it she sniffed it to make sure nothing else was inside the small hole.
"I can't believe I was this small. Hmm, maybe for one more night you can protect me old friend?" Kayo asked the tree, not expecting a response but she did hear its strong branches moving but she assumed it was the wind as she made the little hole bigger so she could curl up inside, safe among its roots and under the watchful gaze of her 'old friend'.
~Morning~
Kayo slowly woke up, but smelled something strange next to her body, opening her golden eyes she noticed two small brown rabbits had slipped into her den, and curled up to sleep next to her, both peacefully asleep. 'Well, this is something that doesn't happen every day. Breakfast in bed?' she though, amused and thought about just eating the poor sleeping rabbits next to her but carefully slipped away without wakening them. Once outside she stretched and turned to the tree and put a paw on it.
"Thank you. Sorry, I left breakfast in there." she joked to the tree and was trotting off back to the village, leaving her scent behind for a bit before erasing it, so that hunters or other predators couldn't follow her.
On her way back she did pick up a few more herbs and seeds, following the river back home when she came across something unusual at the stream.
It looked like a young girl with pink hair, dressed in a white kimino.
'Is that a kimono? Could that girl also be from another world?' she thought and shrunk down to her small kit form with 1 tail to investigate, so far the girl didn't seem to be trouble as she smelled like cherry blossoms. Kayo still approached the girl carefully and froze as the girl looked up from the stream to look at the black fox kit that was approaching her from behind.
'H-horns!?' Kayo questioned as she saw two thick white horns coming out for the girl's head and some red markings coming from her eyes that almost made her look sad.
"H-hello, Mr. Fox. Did you come here for a drink too?" the 'girl' asked in a soft and sweet voice Kayo felt the need to protect the precious girl. Even more so when a large fish popped up behind her out of the water, startling the Sakura girl. Kayo acted fast and grew to her larger form to take care of the fish on one swift blow, making it land away from the water and the girl it had tried to attack.
Kayo glared at the now dead fish as she heard as gasp behind her and the pink girl came up next to her, wrapping her arms around her neck. "Thank you, Mr. Fox. For saving me." she praised her, and Kayo couldn't help but wag her tails and nuzzle the cherry girl too show she wouldn't hurt her. It got a giggle out of the Sakura girl who then pet Kayo's head with her small pale but warm hands.
"Princess!" someone called out and the pink girl looked in the direction of the voice. Kayo quickly changed back into her cute little fox form before meeting the people that the pinkett was traveling with.
'Jack pot!' Kayo couldn't help but think as she saw the party coming towards them.
A busty purple female carrying a mase with one thick black horn coming out of her forhead, A broody looking Blue guy with one white horn coming out of his forehead, and a sexy pissed off looking Red head with two back horns coming out of his forhead that had Kayo really excited.
Of course, the other two didn't excite her as much as they were an old white-haired man with two white horns and a big black buff tank with two small white horns that gave Kayo a hint at what these people where.
'Could they be... Oni?' she questioned, a little confused as she was picked up by the pink princess and shown to the to the others. "And Mr. Fox here took down the fish that was going to eat me. He saved me. So he's not a bad fox." she explained, looking up at the pissed of red head that she assumed was their leader.
Kayo's golden eyes locked with his crimson, and she couldn't help but feel shivers through her body under his gaze, and Eros was already calculating the Relationship compatibility.
Unique Skill: Match Maker
Relationship compatibility between Sexy red head and Kayo Tempest is... 20%
'Danm it.' Kayo whined in disappointment as she looked away from the red head shyly.
"Can he stay big brother? Please? We have plenty of food now, and I'm sure he knows the forest very well." the pinkett reasoned as her brother looked carefully at the little fox kit, unsure of its intentions or that look it had in its eyes when their gazes locked. It was a strange feeling he had never experienced before, and his sister was pleading to keep it as a pet.
"Fine. You may keep it... but if it hurts you, I will make a scarf out of it." the red head reasoned as his sister smiled and hugged a still depressed Kayo who had run Eros with the other Oni's...
'15% and 5% how could they be so low?' she questioned; a bit heartbroken before she was snapped out of it. 'Hey! REAL relationships take time and trust. You just met these people! Of course, the relationship compatibility is gonna be low! Not to mention they think your just a fox! Earn their trust and love like a real person! Not some Shojo reverse harem manga Herione! Or worse! A Fanfiction Mary Sue!'
'Right! I will do that! And it seems I'm already part of their group... but as a pet...' Kayo though as she could almost see the absurdly long title if this was a comic series.
Reincarnated as The Pet Fox of My Sexy Master's sister!
'Yeah, that would be the title...' Kayo mussed as she was set down but went help the pinkett prepare the fish for the group, the Purple skinned female also helped a little but only with chopping and moving the fish to their camp. Kayo lit the fire while they were not looking, confusing the Pinkett and the purple lady but they went with it and started to cook the fish for their group. Kayo was beside the pinkett the whole time and noticed some things... these people where not well prepared for travel.
'It's like they had to leave in a hurry... maybe monsters?' Kayo questioned, as she could smell blood coming from the blue and red onis. The pinkett looked worried and talked about going to get some herbs but the red one would not let her leave, looking sharply at Kayo as he said it.
She let it roll off her back as she curled into her tails, much to the pinketts confusion, the red head was amused that he scared the black furry creature only to be proven wrong as it pulled out the herbs his sister had been asking for.
"Oh! Thank you, Mr. Fox. These are just what needed." the pinkett praised and pet her head as she took the herbs to make a slave to heal the two form their injuries. Kayo felt bad she was keeping her brother's healing potions to herself, then again, she didn't trust these guys as much as they were trusting her, not that they had much choice. Kayo could just leave and run back to the village without them knowing especially when it came to nighttime. The older ones of course toughed out the cold nights but the pinkett was shivering... so Kayo got bigger and wrapped around her. The other's where shocked and weary of her sudden size increase but settled down as the sakura girl giggled, nuzzling into Kayo's warm fur.
"You're so warm Mr. Fox. Thank you." she thanked the fox again and pet her head as Kayo relaxed, only to be a little startled as the purple oni join her in laying on the cozy fox.
"Oh my~ Mr. Fox does have such soft silky fur~. He would make a great coat like this." she mussed, and Kayo made a small sound at that comment, making the purple oni laugh. "Kidding. Kidding. Your probably warmer alive anyway." she mussed but Kayo let her stay as she tried to relax... but then she felt another body against her... opening an eye she saw the white oni with his back to her. She bushed it off as he was elderly and probably feeling the cold more than any of them. Threw out the night, she felt more bodies against Her's even as a warm fire was going.
Leaving only the red Oni to stand guard over his sleeping cohorts, watching the strange fox that his sister had found and seemed far too smart to be just another fox. Kayo could feel the oni's resting around her, the blue one resting on her back and the black oni on the same side as the white Oni, the pink and purple oni females sleeping with her tail covering them like a blanket.
"What are you after?" The red oni asked as Kayo was in a daze between sleep and awake before she fell asleep, not fearing for her life as it seemed the Oni's where no danger to her... and that were seemed to be scared of something far more dangerous that was invading their forest.
~Kayo's Mind~
Once again Kayo found herself in that familiar forest but not only was that woman there but several others sitting on stumps that looked like Kayo herself.
"Welcome back, Mother. We have been waiting for you." the Kayo form before greeted her with a knowing smirk as fox Kayo was confused by the title. "Okay? Why am I here again?" she asked as another kayo, one with glasses and a clip board spoke up.
"You are here so that we may discuss the new assets that you have acquired, and what to do with them to be productive and useful for the village." she spoke coldly as the other kayo rolled her eyes. "Just put down Harem, at least for the sexy red head. We love the read heads~ oh~ and his eyes are just gorgeous~! We must have him!" she voices confidently as she crushed on the Red Oni.
"H-hold on! First off, let's get some dentations so it's not so confusing." Kayo reasoned as she wasn't completely against her idea. "Agreed, I believe you will find these designations accurate." the one with glasses spoke and handed Kayo her clip board that made her see names above her other selves.
"Knowledge?" Kayo looked at the one with glasses who nodded, then at the one who had been crushing on the red Oni and smirking back at Kayo who blushed as she saw her name. "L-lust... that fits." she spoke and looked away at the others who had not come forward yet but could see their names and one sprung up close to her with a big grin, a giggly jester hat on her head.
"Hey yeah Mom! Nice to finally meet you, I'm jester! I'm the fun one out of everyone! I'm here to brighten up your day and Lust can light up your loins at any time!" Jester giggled even if that wasn't the name above her head, much to Knowlege's annoyance.
"Humor, stop with the nonsense and be serious." Knowledge scolded her but she but jester wasn't listing. "That's your job not mine! Oh! Mom you have to meet this little cutie!" Jester eagerly held up a chibi Kayo who was holding what looked like a plush slime.
"Hi mommy, I'm Agape." the chibi announced and held out her slime plush. "Look! It's big brother Rimuru!" she showed her and Kayo couldn't help but smile at the cute child.
"Yeah, she has tons of em." Jester informed and opened a door to show the hundreds of plushies Agape had, many of them goblins and wolves that looked very familiar but there were a few that stood out among all the green and blue. Like the pink Oni plushie and the dwarf ones that looked more like action figures.
"Hey! Don't make a mess Jester." another Kayo scolded, dress in functional but cute maid uniform. This was... Head Housekeeper.
"Really?" Kayo questioned as she looked at the woman who quickly cleaned up the mass of plushies but Kayo could better see them all once organized and was surprised to see King Dwargo was also an action figure in Agapes collection and there were a few elf statues there too.
"Don't worry, there is plenty of room in our heart to hold all of Agape's plushies and stuff." Kayo looked to another self, one who held a pencil and a blue book in her hands, her name was Planning. "Of course, these are all just representations of those we care about. Some more strongly than others." Knowledge explained and picked up a generic goblin looking plush and the very detailed statue of Rigurd... nude.
"Why is he naked?" Kayo asked as she covered little Agape's eyes. Knowledge just handed it over to Lust. "Because this one is mine~. It's just a matter of time before Ridur can call us Mommy~." she mussed and licked her lips as Kayo blushed with embarrassment.
"Moving on." Knowledge ignored Lust and introduced 'Mother' Kayo to the other parts of herself and Jester offered Lust a jug of water.
~Next Day~
"Lord Kayo!" Gobta called out as he and serval other goblin riders were out in the forest doing more than just hunting. "Lord Kayo! Are you out there!?" He called out as she rode on the back of his wolf, not worried for his friend who had gone out yesterday and had yet to return. He knew she was strong enough to take on anything in the forest, but Rimuru didn't think so and sent them out to find her. "Where could she be? Huh?" Gobta asked as his wolf suddenly changed course... having caught onto Kayo's scent, and many others. His wolf wasn't the only one either as they all arrived and surrounded the Oni party, Kayo nestled into the pink princess' arms, deep asleep in her mind.
"Hey! Hand her over and no one gets hurt." Gobta commanded, to confident in himself as he pointed at Kayo... but to the Oni... he looked to be pointing at their princess, so they drew their weapons and delt with the goblins and tempest wolves swiftly.
The goblins and wolves where on the ground after trying to retrieve Kayo from the Pinkett's hold, only she was protecting the fox and hid her with her sleeves as she was still sleeping or so it seemed. Only Ranga suddenly jumping out at the pink oni did the red one get pissed and punched the wolf away from his sister. "We will not let you take her." he hissed angerly at the wolves and golblins who were unsure of how to get Kayo back... so Ranga called for Rimuru. 'Master! We found her! But some strong monsters have captured her!' he reported to the slime as he quickly dogged an attack form the red Oni.
'On my way! Just hold out for a bit longer!' Rimuru responded as he made his way quickly out of Valdora's cave and too where the goblins and Oni where fighting.
It was a while before the masked slime arrived to see Gobta roll on the ground holding his chest.
"What happened!?" Rimuru asked as he arrived to where they were, worried for the goblin and Kayo who he couldn't see anywhere with his dull human senses. "I got cut! It hurts so bad!" Gobta yelled as he was the last goblin standing against just the red and white Oni's.
"Calm down. It's not deep." Rimuru assured him before looking at those who had hurt Gobta.
"Who are you guys?" he asked the unnamed oni's who stood among all the downed Goblins. "L-lord Rimuru, they have her. Don't let them take her away." Gobta asked, worried for his friend that was still deep asleep in the pink Oni's arms.
"What? Why do they have her?" Rimuru asked and approached the two oni's, but threw a healing potion at Gobta. Ranga's howl caught his attention as the tempest wolf was fighting the black and blue oni's, but then Ranag charged at them a blue wall of flame kept him from getting close. Rimuru quickly spotted the source, the pink oni who was holding onto Kayo's sleeping body.
'Kayo!?' Rimuru tied calling to her, but she didn't seem to be respond.
"Ranga!" He called back the tempest wolf instead and he came over to him with a worried whine. "Master, forgive me. I have not been able to reach her." He admitted to Rimuru before the sound of metal hitting metal was heard and Rimuru saw Rigur fight off the Purple oni.
"Come back, Rigur!" Rimuru called out as the goblin managed to daoge the oni woman's mace and come to his master. "Lord Rimaru... I am sorry." the goblin panted as he keeled before him, looking worn out form trying to get back Kayo.
"It's alright. Ranga, what happened to the others?" Rimaru asked as he saw all the oni's came together even the pink oni who was hiding Kayo with her sleeves.
"They were put to sleep with magic. That pink haired one did it when they tried to grab Lord Kayo, who she has in her arms." Ranga informed his master as they saw the other Oni come to guard the pink oni.
"Magic huh? Looks like these guys are going to be trouble." Rimaru muttered as he tried to think of a way to wake Kayo or to get her back from the very protected pink oni.
'Kayo! Wake up! You would be really useful right now!' he thought at her but got no response, he was almost worried she had been killed.
"How humiliating, I never thought we would run into Orgers." Rigur voiced as Rimuru looked at the very unoger like creatures before him, how much they seemed like Japanese people with their clothes, armor and swords.
"Hey you guys. I don't know what happened, but sorry about what my guys did. Would you be willing to talk this out?" Rimuru asked them but the 6 Oni stayed quiet as they glared at the masked Slime.
'There clearly much stronger, but Gobta and Rigurd where not fately hurt and the security force has been put to sleep and the pink one has Kayo... and she wouldn't approach someone without good reason. I wish she would wake up and tell me.' Rimaru was thinking, worried for his little sister in the orger's hands.
"Show us who you really are, Evil Majin!" the red oni yelled, snapping Rimuru out of his thoughts only to be confused.
"Huh? Hang on, what did you just call me?"
"Enslaving monsters is not a feat just any human can accomplish." The red oni accused, only confusing Rimuru more. "You may hide your appearance and suppress your aura, but it won't work!" he scoffed
"Reveil your true identity." the white oni commanded
"For the mastermind to approach us himself is most convenient." the blue oni mussed as Rimuru was unsure of what to do to convince them of his innocence and to let Kayo go from whatever spell she was under.
"Hey, listen. There's bit a of a misunderstanding here, we just want-" Rimuru started but was cut off by the red oni, presumably their leader.
"I don't care what you want you're not getting your hands on her. That mask tells us everything we need to know!" the red oni yelled as he pulled out his sword, Rimuru trying to explain that it was a keepsake, but he would not hear it. "It will serve to pay even a billionth of what has been done to our brethren, we will have your head! You friend of evil pigs!" He yelled as he pointed his unsheathed blade at Rimuru who was planning with Ranaga on how to take care of them.
"Huh? What's going on?" Kayo questioned as she woke up, covered by the surprised pinkett's sleeves. "Mr fox, your awake. Thank goodness." she said and held the fox close, relived to see it was not dead, but a little surprised she could hear a woman's voice come from the fox. "Yeah, sorry if I worried you. Are you okay?" Kayo asked her as the pinkett smiled at her sadly. "I'm fine but we seemed to have come across an evil Majin and his servants... they want to capture me Mr. Fox." she told Kayo who growled.
"Not when I'm here, Cherry Blossom. Let me at em!" Kayo declared and wiggled out of her hold and landed on the ground, increasing her size to help fight off these evil Majin, only to face off against Ranaga who looked happy she was awake.
"Lord Kayo! Your finally wake!" he looked relived, and Kayo was confused but had to stay focused. "Ranga? Good, you're here. Someone is trying to take my new friend. Help me protect her form this evil Majin." Kayo asked the Tempest wolf who was about to tell her the truth then they saw Rimuru taking down 3 of the 5 remining Oni easily. Kayo understanding a bit of what was going on now when the slime hit the blue oni into a tree, probably breaking some of his bones as his sword was as good as done.
"Can we stop this? I'd like you to hear what I have to say now." Rimuru addressed the red Oni as the white Oni seemed to know what creatures Rimuru's skills came from.
"Quiet, Evil Majin!" The red Oni yelled at the masked Slime as Kayo figured there had been a mistake somewhere in communication... or none at all.
"Oh. You guys think he's an evil Majin? No, that's just my big brother. I took too long to come home so he must had sent others looking for me." Kayo told the pinkett who looked very shocked. "Y-your... big brother?" Kayo nodded and nuzzled her to show she wasn't going to turn on her. "Yeah, don't worry. He's very nice, but he's strong. So~ we may want to stop those guys from fighting before someone gets hurt too badly." Kayo pointed out as the other oni's were still alive just... incapacitated.
"You are one of them!" Kayo heard the red Oni yell and Rimuru was just confused. "Them? Who?" he asked but that just seemed to piss of the red oni more.
"It's unthinkable for us orgers to be defeated by mere orcs!" he spat out as Kayo and the Pinkett started to worry for their older brothers.
"Hang on what makes you think-" he was trying to explain but the red oni was too much of an angry boy to let him finish.
"Quiet! I know it was all the work of you and your Majin comrades! I will not let you take my sister!" he snapped.
"Wait, you've got things all wrong. I-" Rimaru was trying to explain but had to doge the white oni's attack, but he still lost his arm to the old oni's skilled blade. "Wow. The old man is good, he got close enough to cut off big brother's arm." Kayo praised, not at all worried about her slime brother's severed limb, unlike everyone else seemed to be.
"Looks like you were just fool hardy after all. I commend your courage to remain calm after losing an arm." The red oni praised, not knowing what kind of creature he was really fighting as he raised his sword. "The pride that compelled you to take us all on alone will be your downfall! Regret your folly in the next life!" he yelled instead of attacking Rimuru as he calmy picked up his arm and reabsorbed it before regenerating it, much to the Oni's shock.
"Did you think you'd beaten me just by cutting off one of my arms?" Rimuru teased as the pink oni looked worried. "Mr. Fox... we need to stop them. Before our big brother's really hurt each other." she pleaded with the fox who looked at her and nodded. "True, but how do we stop them? Your bother doesn't seem to even want to listen and is dead set that my brother is a Majin." She reasoned before the pinkett gasped at her brother's next attack.
"Orger Flame!" he yelled, and Kayo quickly used her tails and body to cover the pink oni and Ranga from the flames.
"Mr. Fox! Your brother!" she started to get tears in her eyes as she held onto the fox who only looked at her worriedly. "Are you okay little one? Ranga?" she asked, as the wolf nodded but the oni looked horrified. "Don't you care about your bother?" she asked as Kayo chuckled. "If there's one thing me and my brother have in common, it's being fireproof." She mussed as in the flames the oni's could all see that he 'majin' was unharmed by the flames, even his now black clothes where not singed, having been lined with Kayo's fur that was immune to the hottest of flames.
"To bad fire has no effect on me. You were right though. I did underestimate you. I'll show you..." Rimuru spoke as he came out of the Orger fire that went away once the red oni noticed it had no effect on his opponent and Rimuru took off his mask, letting out his powerful aura for all to feel.
"M-mr. Fox... please help me. We need to stop them." the pink oni begged and Kayo looked even more worried when Rimuru showed off his new skill, Black Flames and Black lighting.
"What now? Still want to fight?" Rimuru asked the red Oni who seemed to realize he was out match but Kayo felt the pink oni knew differently, and she could feel the girl shaking before she ran past the protection of the black kitsune and ran to her bother.
"Lord Kayo... should I stop her?" he asked the fox who changed into her human fox form and was right behind the pinkett.
"Wait, Brother!" she called out and Kayo came between her and Rimuru with a smile. "Hi Big bother! Sorry to make you worry about me!"
"Kayo! Where have you been!? You said you would be back by the morning!?" Rimuru scolded her and ended up dropping the attack to hug his little sister tightly. "Sorry. I met some new friends. So please don't hurt them." Kayo asked before Rimuru got her in a head lock and gave her a hard noogie. "Agh! Big brother! Stop! Ow! Ow! That hurts!" She cried out and tied to break out of his hold but only managed to when he let her go to rub her injured head.
Meanwhile the pink oni was convincing her brother that they were not the ones who attacked their home.
"Maybe this time you will stop going off on your own. You could have been really hurt by something you couldn't handle." Rimuru reasoned but Kayo pouted, thinking he was underestimating her again. "I was fine. There is more than one way to handle things other than fighting or running you know. I even took down some really big monsters all by myself." Kayo told him proudly. As the Slime just sighed and then said those dreaded words again.
"Your grounded." he told her, and Kayo was frozen in shock he had said that to her again.
"Are you willing to listen now?" Rimuru asked the Oni as Kayo tried to recover from the shock of being told she was grounded again.
"Who are you, two?" The red oni asked as he looked at Rimuru and at the fox who perked up at his voice. Her golden eyes meeting his, gave him a strange feeling of ease as she smiled at him.
"Me? I'm just a slime." Rimuru told him and the red oni looked at him in disbelief even as Kayo nodded. "Yep. I'm Rimuru the Slime." he told the oni's and then transformed into his slime form, much to their shock and hopped into Kayo's waiting arms.
"Allow me to properly introduce myself too. I'm Kayo Tempest, a kitsune and the younger sibling of this guy right here." she informed them as they were still in a bit of shock over Rimuru being a mear slime that beat 3 of their comrades all by himself.
"This mask is a keepsake from someone I knew. Feel free to see for yourself, if it's the same one that your attacker had." Rimuru offered as he pulled out Shizu's mask that he had repaired to the red Oni. He came closer to the small pair and took the mask, Kayo gasped as something strange take over her senses.
The smell of burning wood and blood flooded her noise as the site of a paper door on fire was all she could see... before a familiar hand pulled it aside to expose the horrible scene inside.
A large, armored mass had a foot on the body of an older red-haired Oni, Kayo felt her heart stop a the site of him but... there was one more person in the room filled with flames...
A large person wearing a mask that looked almost clown like... it looked nothing like Shizu's and then it disappeared as the house came down in flames.
"Kayo?! Kayo!? Are you okay!? What happened!?" Rimuru asked worriedly, now on top of Ranga as Kayo had fallen to her knees after the Oni gave back the mask, confirming that it wasn't the one the perpetrator was wearing. Kayo gasped and blinked away the strange vision, a cold sweat coming over her as she and the red oni made contact once again, her golden eyes wide with understanding.
'Was it... his memory?' Kayo questioned in confusion as the red oni kneeled before her and Rimuru, bowing his head.
"It seems our desperation caused a grave misunderstanding. Please accept my apologies." He offered and Kayo was still a bit confused as she slowly got up and Rimuru didn't think twice.
"Sure, we accept." The slime chirped and was relieved that matter was settled but was still worried about Kayo's strange reaction when the Oni came close to her.
"Hey. Come to the village with us. You guys have been out in the forest for a long time. You could all use some proper rest and good food." Kayo reasoned as she grabbed the red Oni's hand and gently tugged him towards the village. Much to his shock, the little kitsune was stronger than she looked when she managed to pull him off his knees. His reaction was quick, and he got back on his feet before he could fall face first in the dirt.
"H-hold on. Are you sure?" the red Oni asked as he looked to the slime, thankfully the kitsune wasn't pulling him anymore, just holding his large hand with her small one that was wrapped around 2 of his fingers. "Of course, I want to hear about what you've been through, and you brought back Kayo unharmed." Rimuru mentioned as he noticed the Red oni seemed to still be confused.
"But we wounded your companions." He argued as Kayo rolled her eyes at the excuse. "And we did the same to yours. No one died, so I say we are all good here." Rimuru countered it, curious why Kayo was still holding the red oni's hand.
"Forgive Us." the white oni asked, as he approached Rigur and Gobta, the later quickly hiding behind the taller Goblin in fear of the old oni. "Of course! We are even having a feast today. We have a lot of tasty foods we would love to share with all of you. Don't worry, we have more than fish too." Kayo mentioned with a knowing smile as the purple one gave her a small smile, having been the one to complain about eating fish.
"Um, Lord Kayo. Lord Rimuru. The Hunting Party has been searching for Lord Kayo and fighting our guest... there was no time to hunt for meat." Rigur informed the two leaders, but Kayo smirked as she let go of the red Oni's hand finally. "Don't worry Rigur. I got it covered! Ta-da! And this is not only one I have!" Kayo grinned proudly as she pulled out one of the monsters she had fought and killed, but it was easily 10 times her size and looked like a fresh kill.
"H-how did you?! Where did that... where did that come from!?" Rimuru asked, speechless at what his little sister had just done. As where the Oni who didn't think the little Kitsune would pull such a massive creature out of seemly thin air.
"I have a void space in my tails. I can put all kinds of things in there and it doesn't spoil or go bad. I can even replicate small nonliving things by using up some magicules." Kayo showed off her skill and pulled out her two books: The magic for beginner's book given to her by Eren, and the Notebook given to her by King Garzel Drawrgo. Only she pulled out another set of those same books to show off her new ability.
The white oni seemed extra shocked that she had a notebook with the Dwarf king's crest on it.
"G-good for you. Let's head back to the village now." Rimuru suggested as he was quiet as they all walked back to the village, Kayo having put the beast back into the void space of her tails to make it easy to transport. 'When did she get so strong?' Rimuru found himself asking as Kayo chatted with the Oni's, mostly the Pink one who was happy to talk with her about cooking and food along the way as the goblins that had been put to sleep, awoke form the spell and joined them on the trip back for the feast.
