I Got Reincarnated! - Kitsune Chronicles

~Chapter 15~ Fly Away Now

"Does this make me look like a poor orphan from a rural village?" Kayo asked as she showed the slime her outfit. A pair of worn and short brown pants with slightly tethered legs that draped over some well-worn brown boots, a long-sleeved cream-colored tunic under a brown vest that had a few pockets on the front with one of them patched up poorly with a blue patch of fabric. Kayo's hair was completely a dark brown color, up in a messy ponytail as she took on her Inari Dwargon form before she would have to leave with the King in a few hours.

"I think you're going to get a lot more attention looking like that." the slime mentioned as he watched his sister dress, not in a creepy way, and she didn't seem to object to him being in the same room when she changed, even if her body was of a mature vixen now. "What makes you say that? Well, I would be one of the non-monsters looking creatures out there I guess." she mussed and picked up the slime and polished him like she used to. The slime not minding it as she always took great care of him, always looking bright and shiny in the end.

"Yay! All shiny and clean!" Kayo giggled as she set the slime down, seeing him sparkle in the early morning light.

"I miss this, but we have to keep moving forward. Let's seize the day!" Rimuru chirped happily as he bounced into Kayo's arms as she carried him out of his room, she had stayed in with him that night after getting to know Veldora, and Ifrit, better. The disguised kitsune giggled as she caried him out the door and into the village.

A few goblins and orcs greeting the two, as they suspected the female dwarf carrying their very recognizable master was Kayo. The slime seeing Kayo's usual morning in greeting the village and exchanging high five with some of her goblin friends who were out on patrol this morning. Offerings of a portable breakfast tempted the disguised kitsune into excepting them.

"No wonder you skip meals. You're always snacking and being offered food." the slime noticed as Kayo was biting into an apple gleefully.

"Hmm, it would be rude to refuse. I don't eat ALL the food they offer. Sometimes I put it away in my void space for later." she mentioned to him as they arrived at the grand completed assembly building. "Wow~ It's hard to believe this only took 2 months." the slime gushed at his new office that felt so regal and open with a few potted plants place by the window to help make the room feel less stuffy.

"Oh~ is this double planed glass?" the slime asked, and he pressed into the glass and noticed that there was space between the planes. "Yup! Helps with insulation, keeps the heat out or in come wintertime. Hmm~ I can't believe it's almost goanna be a whole year since we met the goblins." Kayo mentioned, looking a little sad that she would have to leave for the 1st anniversary.

"Has it? It seems like just yesterday you were trying to hunt me, but I was too big for you." the slime teased as Kayo laughed at the memory. "Yeah, who would have guessed that little slime would become a leader of a new nation of monsters?" she mussed but the slime was thinking of something different.

"Or that the runt of the littler would become a great Guardian of the forest and a princess~." He mussed and Kayo gave a soft smile.

"True. But I guess we made our own ways, but don't call me a princess. I'm hardly qualified to be one." Kayo rolled her eyes as she came next to him to look out the window as they could see the main street that that some shops already doing business. "It's starting to look like a real city~! I don't suppose you know how to make a car in those memories of yours do you?" the slime asked, half teasing as Kayo had shown him, and the other two inside him, her vast Library of Memories and knowledge that towered even over Valdora in his true dragon form.

"No, but this world doesn't seem fit for cars. I only know basic mechanics of a vehicle anyway." she admitted but was curious if she could re make a car in this world. "Do you want a grand tour of the rest of the building?" Kayo asked him with a smug smile, having helped with the building and layout from the very beginning. "Yes, please!" the slime chirped excitedly, and he hopped into her arms, and she took him to the other floors, showing him the rooms and their uses before ending up in one of the smaller meeting rooms.

"Ah! Lord Kayo. Lord Rimuru. This is where you both have gotten to. Are you finding the building to your liking?" Shion asked with a bright smile... only the two leaders turned pale as they noticed the purple kijin holding a tray with 2 mugs on it, some strange black goo boiling out of it.

'WHAT IS THAT!?' they both questioned in horror, but it got even worse as the well-meaning woman tripped and sent the two deadly mugs tumbling at them. Kayo yelped and turned into her fox for to doge the 'attack' absorbing the strange stuff into her void space to protect the newly finished room. The slime however had taken a direct hit.

"I'm so sorry, Lord Rimuru!" she quickly apologized as she saw the mug spilled all over the slime who seemed to be dealing with the goo alright. "Shion... your banned from making anything. What was that supposed to be any way?" Kayo told her as the woman looked shocked and hurt at the fox's words.

"It was supposed to be that new brown drink you shared with the dwarves, coffee." Shion told her and looked to the slime for some comfort. "C-Coffee!?" The slime questioned in shock as her looked form the Kijin to the fox who took on her humanoid kitsune from. "Do you want me to show you how it's made... Again?" Kayo asked as she didn't like to see the grown woman in tears.

"Yes! I promise I will get it right next time!" Shion responded eagerly as Kayo showed her how to make coffee. The slime was fascinated by how she used her tails and powers to make something so simple, using them like extra hands as she used a French press before pouring them coffee into, black, blue, and purple mugs.

"Would you like some cream and honey, Rimuru?" Kayo asked as she had also brought out a small jug of cream and a honey pot. "Is that honey from Apito?" the slime asked, delighted by the site of that sweet golden goo.

"Sure is. She has been working really hard since you saved her and Zegion on your little walk through the forest." the kitsune teased as she carefully added the honey and cream to his mug as the slime bounced excitedly in his seat. "I can still remember how scared of Zegion you were the first time you met." the slime mentioned with a laugh, Kayo placing the blue mug within his grasp, and the slime eagerly took a savory first sip of the familiar brown liquid.

"H-hey. He surprised me. I've never seen a beetle that big before." Kayo defended, making Shion's with a lot of honey before giving it to the woman who eagerly tried the unfamiliar beverage and burned her mouth. "Ah! This is pleasing to you?" she asked as she set down her empty cup, Kayo making her own with only a bit of honey and cream.

"Yeah, but you're supposed to drink it slowly. Unless it's Iced-" the slime was saying before he heard Kayo growl. "Like hell I will ever tolerate that frozen abnodation that dares be called coffee!" she hissed, and the slime could only laugh at how odd the kitsune was. "You said the same thing about bell peppers, and it's odd. Our bell pepper seeds have gone missing too. Would you know anything about that?" He asked the kitsune with a knowing look, but Kayo only calmly drank her coffee... not answering his question.

~Later~

"I absolutely love these, Shuna!" Kayo gushed as she twirled around in a cute red pleated skirt that had a slit for her tails to freely wag in happiness, some black and red stripped thigh high socks. A cozy black hoodie with stripped sleeves, going over Kayo's white sleeveless blouse, the kitsune's smile reaching her eyes as she posed for the pink kijin who looked very happy to see the kitsune so happy.

"I'm glad I can make you happy Kayo. You look lovely." Shuna praised as Kayo was her most willing to model her clothes, the kitsune having an odd fascination for horizontal stripes and slightly baggy clothing. "Thanks, but I think the skirt might be a bit short though." Kayo mentioned with a blush as she gently pulled her skirt down in the back. The thigh high socks hid most of her legs but when it came to the skirt it exposed a bit more in the back if Kayo moved wrong.

"Hmm, let me take a look." Shuna was confused but came behind the kitsune to see what she had been talking about. "Oh..." the young female kijin figured it out quickly and felt kinda sad as she saw what the problem was.

"Oh? Do you know what's wrong?" Kayo asked, confused by the sound of the young woman's reaction.

"Yes, and it's a simple fix. I just need to add a bit more length to the back." She told the older female but had a strange look on her face. "You're really a different woman, Kayo." she told the kitsune who was confused as she looked behind her. 'Is it my tails?' she questioned before Shion came in with a familiar box.

"Lady Shuna, I brought the box you wanted." the older woman called out but the saw Kayo in her new outfit. "Oh my, Lord Kayo! You look adorable!" she gushed over the fox and giggled as Kayo greeted her. "Hey Shion, what's with the box?" she asked, confused why Shuna would want that box here. "I asked her to bring it here. I need to make some alterations to it. You think you could stay a little longer and help?" Shuna asked, giving Kayo a pleading look and the fox sighed, giving in.

"Okay. Undress and then close your eyes. No peeking!" Shuna told her sternly as Kayo was curious about what was in the box that was mostly unharmed in the Oni village attack. 'One way to find out. But why me?' the kitsune questioned as she undressed, not worried since they were all females any way. Stripping down her panties and the bandages she used for a bra, trusting the women as they slipped on some soft fabric onto her skin, and tried to whisper quietly so she wouldn't hear but Kayo could clearly hear them.

"What are those red markings?" Shuna asked Shion who was confused as she looked at Kayo's unmarked back. Kayo gulped and tried not to burst into a cold sweat. 'Have those marks not healed yet?' she questioned but jumped when Shuna touched her lower back and traced something.

"Kayo... what are these lines on your back?" the young woman asked, confused and curious.

"I... don't know. I've never noticed anything on my back." Kayo told her and got a look from Shuna's point of view about the lines on her back. 'These look... familiar.' Kayo questioned as they almost looked like solid red flames on her back.

"I don't see anything. It's just these marks on her hips~." Shion grinned and placed her hands close to where those other strange markings were. "H-hey! What are you doing Shion!" Kayo hissed; eyes still closed as she swatted away the other woman's hands as she chuckled knowingly. "Oh~ just trying to see who left their mark on you first Lord Kayo~." she teased, and Kayo blushed at her comment. Shuna looking confused as to what the two women were talking about, looking at the strange red marks on the kitsune's hips and thighs that looked to be claw marks from large hands.

After brushing away Shion's comment Shuna started to dress Kayo in the rest of the special white kimono carefully. Both excited and nervous as it came together almost perfectly. Despite how unfamiliar Kayo's body shape was, the kimono seemed to just mold around her body as if it was made for her. "This doesn't feel like Hell moth silk. What is it, Shuna? It's really soft." Kayo asked, curious about what was in that box... but a strange feeling came over her as she felt Shuna tie something around her middle.

"I'm not sure. It's not like anything I've seen before and it's very delicate. I'm surprised it survived in that box." Shuna mentioned sadly as Shion did Kayo's hair into a simple bun to it wasn't touching the white kimono, but Shion noticed something strange with Kayo's roots.

"Oh!? Seems someone is going to a be an old maid soon~." Shion teased as she saw white at the roots of Kayo's black hair. "Don't worry Shion I'm sure you would find someone who doesn't care about a few gray hairs." the kitsune joked but yelped in shock as Shion slapped her ass, golden eyes popping open and catching the image of a beautiful woman in a white kimono.

"Shuna?" Kayo questioned as she looked at herself unsurely, reaching her hand out to the large mirror in aww, seeing the white fabric almost sparkle in the light, as if it was made of ice or crystals. "What is this? Was this in that box?" Kayo asked as Shuna smiled and Shion looked ready to cry for some reason

"Lord Kayo, King Dwargo is here to-" Souei suddenly appeared, kneeling before the Kitsune before he opened his eyes and looked at her in surprise, a blush blooming over his face as he looked up at her. "Beautiful." he softly breathed out, making Kayo turn red as she looked away from him and at Shuna. "Is there a reason you wanted me to dress in this kimono? Don't get me wrong it is beautiful, but it doesn't suit me." the fox sighed softly, her heart racing as she had her suspicions of why.

"It fits you... that means you are going to use it next, Kayo." Shuna told her with a smile as she had tears in her eyes. Kayo gulped as she didn't want to say what she was thinking to the pink kijin and crush her beliefs. "Shuna, I need to change back into my peasant clothes. They are already here to take me to Dwargon." Kayo told her and reached to try and undo the strange obi that was on her only to have it fall off once she touched it. Panicked shock ran threw her body as she saw it slip down to her feet.

"I will assist you, Lord Kayo." Souei spoke from behind her as he had been the one to undo the knot Shuna had tied. "No! You! Out! NOW!" Kayo hissed and Souei looked surprised and a bit sad, only he left without another word. "Why does it feel like I'm kicking a puppy when he makes that face?" Kayo asked as the two kijin females gave each other worried looks before helping Kayo get undressed, folding the Kimono back up neatly into the box.

~Rimuru~

"Rimuru, Kaijin... I am truly sorry. Would you allow me to work here?" Vesta pleaded as he bowed to the slime and dwarf craftsmen after having been locked up and wrapped in a sack and taken to this new nation as a 'gift'. Rimuru was unsure about having Vesta around the village and with the king taking Kayo, she was bound to be out for the ex-minster's blood, or at least punch him. "Having one more talented researcher around will be a big help. Rimuru, if anything bad happens, I'll take responsibility. Please have faith in me and show him mercy." Kaijin pleased with the slime who looked unsure and a bit worried.

"If it's okay with you Kaijin, then I have no objections, but my sister might be another story." The slime mentioned his sister and instantly he felt that familiar killing intent reach them.

"VESTA!" Kayo yelled from very far away, having caught site of the man who disrespected her brother back in Dwargon. She was almost too fast and too strong for the experienced Dwarf craftsmen and slime to hold back from getting at the man. "Just one punch! Let me have just one! It's no fair! Kaijin got to punch him!" Kayo whined as she was held back by the dwarf and the slime firmly as she glared angerly at the minster who looked confused and a bit scared. "W-who is this young woman? I-i don't remember doing anything to her." Vesta asked, as he flinched from her growl alone.

"I was that little kitsune with pops at the trial YOU FUCKIN' RIGED TO GET KAIJIN, DORD, GRAM, MYRD AND MY BROTHER BANISHED, YOU-!" Kayo was yelling before Rimuru covered her mouth with the steel string, hoping she would calm down.

"You... You're that little child that was glaring at me during the trail!?" Vesta was shocked and stunned as he looked at the dwarven fox more carefully and the color drained form his face as he saw her now blue eyes that looked a lot like the Hero King's. "Please forgive me princess! Punch me as much as you like! I deserve all your fury!" Vesta bowed lowly to her as he groveled on the ground. Kijin and Rimuru confused as Gazel chuckled. "I must say, you do take after your father a great deal." He mussed, not having corrected Vesta about the kitsune, but the man seemed to be fooled anyway.

The title only seemed to anger Kayo more as she was able to rip off the steel string to yell.

"Don't call me princess, Lemongrab! You better not even THINK about doing anything underhanded to Kaijin, my brother or my home!" Kayo hissed threating the man but looking like a pissed off cat at the same time as she was still being held back by the dwarf half her height.

"Lemongrab?" Rimuru questioned the name but chalked it up to a weird American thing.

"You have my word pri- Um... Apologies what was your name?" Vesta asked, as he didn't ever get her name as Kaijin let Kayo go so she could stand on her own.

"Call me Inari Dwargo. Heir of Gazel Dwargo, the hero king of The Armed Nation of Dwargon!" Kayo announced confidently despite the lie. Vesta was looking a bit concerned before he picked his next words, holding his arms out and closing his eyes. "Please punish me as you see fit, Lady Dwargo. My life is yours to take." he voiced and braced for either pain or his life to end. Kayo smirked and was going to punch Vesta before Gazel spoke up. "Inari, if you don't punch him, I will give you your own Pegasus." the king bribed her as Kayo looked at him in shock and excitement.

"Really!?" she asked with a wide childlike excitement.

'Don't reward her for things she's not supposed to.' the slime couldn't help but think as Kayo bounced a little before, she decided.

"Hmm~ I'll have to pass on that Pops." she told the king right before she delivered a solid punch to the researcher's soler plexus, knocking the air out of his lungs for just a moment, but he still fell to the ground a few feet away, Kayo wasn't being that merciful to the man. 'Good luck, she's your problem now.' the slime thought playfully but was sad to see the kitsune he saw as a sister leave with the king and his knights for some unknown amount of time. It was just the sudden down pour of rain that confused him but, looking up he could see Kayo was making a rainbow with the special water flask she had.

Painting a colorful promise to the slime in the sky.

~Armed Nation of Dwargon, Over A Week later~

"So boring~." Kayo moaned as she had a book over her face, balanced on the back legs of a wooden chair carefully as she sat at the gates many used to enter the powerful Dwarf nation, but today it seemed like no one was coming through the gates for a few hours now.

"Then get off your lazy butt and do something. Don't just sit there and read all day again." Kaidou scolded her as he had been put in charge of 'training' her to be a new guard. Predictably, news got out that King Gazel Dwargo had an Heir, a female Heir. So, in an attempt to 'hide' the Dwargo heir, Kayo was made to shadow the captain and do the duties a guard would normally do, but of course the Heir stood out among all the short and stout male guards, being taller, slender and easier on the eyes then a normal Dwargon guard ever would be.

"What else can I do? You don't want me making lunch anymore. Paperwork is done, sorted, and sent. The contraband has been handled as well as the rule breakers. I've cleaned this place so much you can see your reflection in the rocks." Kayo pointed out as Kaidou was running out of ideas on how to discipline the young woman who already had a lot of discipline, when it suited her.

"Hey Captain, cut her some slack. She's doing better than any other newbie. Let her make Lunch today." one of the other guards suggested and the others eagerly agreed to the idea. Having had her food, the first time Kaidou 'punished' the young woman... only for her to exceed expectations with only some vegetables, bones and rice. "Aww, I can't always make lunch guys. How else will you learn to cook for yourselves or for that special someone~?" Kayo suggested sweetly, blushing and giggling like she was lovesick.

"I would just simply adore a man who would cook delicious foods for me~." she sighed dreamily and quickly many of the guards volunteered for kitchen duty.

"Your so underhanded it's scary." Kaidou sighed as he didn't fall for her act, crossing his arms as he knew she knew what she was doing. "Hey, if your men learn to cook decent food in the process, I see it as a win-win. And you don't have to make potato soup today." She pointed out to the dwarf who had to agree with her.

"Do you have a guy who cooks for you back home?" he asked her, making sure no one else was around, but still giving little evidence about who Inari really was.

Kayo frowned as she looked away sadly. "No... not really. I'm not that lucky." she admitted, and the dwarf pat her shoulder in assurance. "He's probably too scared of your masterful cooking. I'm sure if you ask, he could surprise you. You're not picky if you'll eat even my potato soup." he mused, getting Kayo to smile a little at his comforting words.

~Evening~

"I miss the Hot Springs~." Kayo whined as she pouted in the caw foot bathtub that had been filled with hot water by some maids a few moments before she returned from her guard duties, the smell of roses and something else filling the young woman's nose. "Poison in the bath water? Really?" Kayo sighed as she looked around and then called out. "Carmen, did you see which maids filled my bath water this time?" she asked the seemingly empty room before the air wiggled, and a figure clad in dark blue appeared, a bright white fox mask with red markings hiding their face.

"Yes, it was 2 of them this time. One of them is new to the staff. Should I check for it being a framing or take care of the new maid?" she asked as Kayo got out of the poisoned bath and carefully dried off, her poison resistance already pretty high thanks to Shion's cooking.

"Hmm Frame job, just to be certain. Good help is so hard to find. I might as well bring in my people to serve me. At least then I wouldn't have to worry about poisoned bath water." She grumbled and got dressed in some black slacks and a cream-colored shirt after wrapping her chest.

"Fuck, when I get home, I'm helping to invent a bra." Kayo grumbled as she put her hair up after brushing it and making her way to the dining room where she had been taking her meals with king Gazel, when he wasn't busy. "Place your bets people... is he or is he not?" Kayo muttered, as it was often that King could not have dinner with her.

'It's not like he's my real dad. I shouldn't be disappointed when he doesn't show up.' She thought before carefully peeking into the room... and was pleasantly shocked.

"Inari, finally come out to have dinner with me?" Gazel mussed with a smirk as he saw the girl's eyes light up when she saw him, but she also looked confused.

"Oh? Is this your child your highness? My, she is a quiet a site." a stuffy noble mussed as they looked at Kayo's common clothes with clear distaste. "H-hello? I didn't think you would be here, King Dwargo. S-sorry for disturbing you." Kayo stuttered nervously, going into her character as a simple girl from a rural village suddenly finding herself an heir to a powerful nation.

"Inari. It's alright to call me Father, or even Gazel if that makes you more comfortable. Come. Sit and have dinner with us." Gazel offered, getting up form his own chair to pull out the one on his right for her. The noble that had sat on his left looked shocked and disgusted as Kayo came and sat in the chair across form him, but a meer commoner in a much higher status then a noblemen form a great bloodline.

"O-okay. Um... hello. I'm Inari What's your name?" Kayo smiled at the noble sweetly, trying to be a charming sweet young lady... but of course the noble gave a small sneer at her before going on about some title Kayo turned out because it was long and confusing.

'This is gonna be a fun dinner.' She thought, mentally rolling her eyes as she turned out the useless talk and ate the food the wonderful cook had prepared.

~Bedtime~

"Agh~! I need a stiff drink." Kayo groaned as she plopped onto one of the comfortable couches in the Dwargon castle library. A gloved hand placed a whisky glass of amber liquid on the table next to her. "Thanks, Felipe." Kayo groaned as she sat up and took the glass, without thinking she knocked back in one go. "No wonder Kaijin said my first few batches were weak. Dwarves are really tolerant to it." she grumbled holding out he glasses for more, and her brother did pour her more only this time she sipped it slowly.

"Report." she commanded and her brother wearing a white fox mask with blue markings pulled out the book of reports they had gathered about the dwarven kingdom and its nobles. "You got to be shittin' me. I really am just a scapegoat." she grumbled as she drank and kept reading the files by the light of the small orb, a spell she had tried randomly and was surprised it had worked in this world. Her brother disappearing as someone came into Kayo's little nook in the library.

"Still up for some late-night reading?" Gazel asked as he came across the young woman, looking worried as he saw her reading yet another book to pass the quiet nights away. "Just reading up on some leads. What brings you here this late then?" Kayo asked as she closed the book and put it away, giving him her full attention, curious why he looked worried. "Kaidou tells me you have been napping during your duties, but I can see the dark circles under your eyes have gotten bigger." he mentioned, and Kayo pouched the darkening eye lids lightly at their mention. "Yeah, I can't sleep well at night because of nightmares. So, who is this person who will help me finally get some proper sleep?" she asked with a tired yawn.

"That would be me young lady." an elderly woman spoke up as she appeared from behind the king's massive frame, the appearance of a mage gave Kayo a hint to what this woman could do. "Forgive my rudeness. I am-" Kayo was saying as she got up to properly greet the woman before she stopped her. "Gazle has informed me of your true identity, Lady Tempest. I can assure you that you will have a restful night's sleep after tonight." she assured the young kitsune who looked unsure.

"I see your worried, and it's best of you are in a good mood. Do you miss your home and your brother, the slime? Perhaps that red kijin that kept you in his arms that night?" Gazle asked and chuckled in amusement, seeing Kayo's memory and her turning a dark red in embarrassment. "Oh? The young lady has a lover. He should have come with her to make sure she sleeps well." the elderly woman mussed as she found Kayo's red face adorable. Kayo stuttered and looked everywhere but at them. "H-he's not my lover! Anyway, he can't! He's needed in Rimuru City for important issues. I can't drag either of them away just so I can sleep." she admitted but realized her mistake to late as the elderly woman laughed.

"Them? Oh~ so there is more than one? Very lucky girl." she teased as Kayo paled. "N-no! Neither of them are my lovers!" Kayo defended but Gazel chuckled but looked away as Kayo was flashing back to her last nights in her home village. "That's enough teasing. I have something to show you. Come with us." Gazel voiced seriously as the two women followed him out of the library and to a small room were a crystal ball sat on top of a purple plush pillow.

"What's that?" Kayo asked, unsure of what was going on.

"It's a communication orb, primarily it's used to speak with generals out in the field to coordinate troops and give orders. However, this is a special case, a communication orb was given to the Jura Tempest Federation. You can call home. Speak to the slime or your lovers." Gazle added teasingly as Kayo blushed.

"I... I wanna talk to my brother." she asked, slightly embarrassed. The old woman was amused and showed Kayo how to use it and 'call' the orb Rimuru had, nerves where suffocating as there was a water droplet like loading screen as their call was going through.

~Rimuru~

"Waaa~!" The slime shivered as he felt a vibration of magic inside him, having been discussing Milim Nava's arrival and her declaration that she and Rimuru where now 'Besties' with his closest male councilors. While Shion and Shuna where keeping the Demon Lord entertained in the hot springs. "Hmm? Is Something wrong Lord Rimuru?" Rigurd asked, concerned for the slime who had made an odd noise before there was an exclamation and question mark appearing on top of the slime's head. "Someone is calling me?" he questioned, confused as he 'spit out' the crystal ball that he had been given to him along with Vesta.

"Hello?" the slime responded as he didn't see anything in the ball before he could see a tired Kayo reflected inside.

"Rimuru-nee-san?" he heard her voice come out loud and clear, he almost cried at the sweet sound.

"KAYO! I miss you! Please come back soon!" the slime cried as he hugged the communication orb in excitement, but the others were also excited to hear Kayo's voice, they remained in place, but a few had the urge to grab the orb and talk with Kayo directly.

"Stop voring the orb, Slime ball. Did something happen?" Kayo asked as she saw the orb turn completely slime blue.

"Yes, Lord Kayo. Lord Rimuru has become beasties with the Demon Lord Milim Nava!" Rigurd told her urgently and the slime flinched as the goblin told her that. "But it's okay! I got it totally under control!" The slime assured her as Kayo looked worried.

"Hey, you haven't been sleeping well. I thought someone was going to help you with that?" The slime asked as he noticed the bags under the kitsune's eyes. "I've been busy. I only got to go through a third of the library last time we were here. I just wanted to get the other two thirds while I'm here, so I've been pulling alnighters. Don't worry, I still get my beauty sleep when I've got guard duty with Kaidou." Kayo mussed as she noticed Kaijin next to the slime.

"By the way Kaijin, Kaidou's happy you're doing great things in Rimuru City. He still misses you and the others though. He says it's weird having he house all to himself." Kayo told the dwarf who looked about to cry. "Thank you, Lord Kayo. Please tell my brother we all miss him too, but not his potato soup." the elder Dwarf joked as he chuckled and so did the kitsune.

"I'll pass it along. Now about your new 'Bestie' Lord Rimuru." Kayo started, calling him by name and title made the slime a bit worried as she had a serious face on. "Please be careful, Demon Lord Milim is one of the oldest and strongest Demon Lords there is. There are records of her tyrannical destruction dating back over 2000 years, and it's said she and another Demon Lord are responsible for the vast wasteland in the west. These are not beings we want to get on the wrong side of." Kayo warned him as the slime looked uneasy.

"Is she really that dangerous? She's just a kid? I gave her the rest of Apito's honey though, and she said she's not gonna have more till next week." The slime told her, becoming a little worried he might not be able to hold back the demon lord with sweets. "She's over 2000 years old, Slime ball. She may act like a child, but I would bet she's forgotten more things than we will ever know. Where is she now?" Kayo asked as she didn't notice any new face among them. She could see them all, but she didn't want to talk with her 'lovers' for several reasons.

"I left her with Shion and Shuna in the hot springs, why?" the slime questioned as he could see Kayo glare at him. "Don't always leave things to Shuna, she's still a young girl herself. It's not right to give her all the responsibility of looking after a demon lord and Shion." Kayo scolded him. Rimuru was going to put up a defense but lost it as he thought of how Shion was.

"Your right. Um... any idea how I could maybe handle her? I've got no clue." the slime asked her, as he had seen her work so well with the young children and some of the young adult goblins before.

"Head pats and praises. If she does something wrong don't scold her harshly, don't give her to many sweets. Redirect her attention to something less harmful when possible. Offer her different foods to try that are not sweets. Just because she is a demon lord doesn't mean she doesn't need a balanced diet." Kayo reasoned and the slime couldn't help but be a little relived but confused.

"If you need help just ask one of the teachers at the school. Many of them are good with children and could help you deal with her safely. Even Geld is a good option." the kitsune advised before the old woman pat her shoulder. "It's time we started child." the old woman mentioned, and Kayo nodded, looking sad. "Okay. Well, I got to go slime ball, take care of everyone. Love you too, Bye." she said, and the communication disconnected.

"KAYO!" Benimaru and Souei reached out for the orb before it disconnected but where too late to speak with the kitsune.

"'Love you two'?" The slime questioned her last words, confused why she would say that, but looking at the two disappointed Kijin's he had an idea.

~Kayo/Inari~

"Love you two? My youngsers these days." the olde woman teased as Kayo realized what she had just said and hit her hands in her face. "Oh God, that just came out. I didn't mean to say that. I wasn't saying it to two people it was just, a habit." Kayo defended herself as her face was bright red.

Gazel planted a hand on her shoulder as she looked at him pleadingly.

"I will need to approve of them both. Although, Dwargon does not permit Polyamory, I can change this law for you three." he teased her with a smirk as Kayo delivered a soft punch to his side. "Stop it! You know what I ment!" she hissed at the king who looked at her and at her head, ruffling her hair. "I know. I know my child." he mused as Kayo seem to also like head pats. The 3 didn't get far before they were in a room with an alter draped in white sheets was in the middle of a strange glowing magic circle. "What is this?" Kayo asked as she felt her blood run cold.

"It's to help you sleep child, don't you worry. I will make sure nothing harms you." the old woman explained but Kayo was still not sure of what would really happen, stiffing more as Gazle gently nugged her forward. "I-I don't like this." Kayo voiced, really nervous about entering the bounds before she was just pushed into it and the floor glowed brighter when she and the elderly woman were inside it.

"What is it doing?!" Kayo asked, startled by the bright light. The elderly woman's face wasn't encouraging either as she frowned. "Come and lay down, dear. You need to be calm and relaxed. Trust me to help you." she told the young woman who tried to back out but found her back hitting a wall... she was trapped!

"Kayo." Gazel called her name sternly and the young woman looked at him fearfully... and the king felt a strange emotion in his chest upon seeing her fear and tears.

"Trust her... Lay on the table." Gazel softly told the kitsune who nodded and did as he had asked laying carefully on the hard table as the elderly woman hand her hands on either side of her head, covering her ears. "Now just relax and close your eyes child... take deep, slow breaths. That's it. Good." the woman instructed as Kayo slowly relaxed, eyes slowly shutting, taking deep slow breaths, her mind faded into the darkness of sleep.

It was quiet in the room for a minute as Gazel was still worried for the kitsune as her illusion had dropped and she appeared as her kitsune form, with 6 tails draping over the sides of the table as she fell asleep. Only something else felt wrong as the magic circle went from glowing purple to black as Kayo's eyes popped open... and she gave off a deathly awful scream, her eyes completely black as she arched off the table unnaturally.

"Danm it! What's happing!?" Gazel asked, shocked as the elderly woman looked deathly afraid as she saw what was coming for Kayo's body... a Black Demon.

~Kayo's Dream~

"This is nice so far." Kayo voiced as she looked around in her dream... she was alone of course, but soon she started moving her legs that took her somewhere familiar. "Home." Kayo softly sighed as she walked the familiar paved streets, her body moving on its own as phantoms of the villagers bustled around her. It seemed so normal as she walked up to the assembly building, smiling proudly as she took in the details the Dwarves and Orcs had added to it.

"No." Kayo gasped as she saw that the actual golden slime decorations on the building were replaced by sliver foxes. "Please, no... not again." Kayo begged, but her body would not stop moving at a steady pace and her heart pounded hard in her chest as she knew what was coming.

"I don't want to see this again! Why are you showing this to me!?" Kayo yelled as she tried to close her eyes as her body opened the doors to the assembly room, the stench of blood reaching her nose... "It's not real... it's just a nightmare... just a nightmare. They are all fine! They are all alive!" Kayo yelled as her eyes opened wide to the site before her, that haunted her for many nights...

"It's just... a nightmare." she told herself as she fell to her knees into a pool of Rigurd's blood, the Goblin King missing his left arm with a sword impaled right threw his head... Gobta and Rigur's heads partly decomposed next to him, as if they had been dead for a while. Kayo looked away from the goblins and made a small sound as she then saw the disemboweled bodies of the dwarf brothers, Kaijin and even Kaidou. Geld's body was a charged golden-brown color with an apple stuffed in his mouth.

"Geld!" Kayo cried out as she looked around more in horror.

Hakuro's head snaped 180 degrees with his eyes ripped out, his own sword run threw him through his back. Souei had been turned into a meat puzzle with all of his limbs cut off and horn broken. Shion had her horn ripped off her head as well as her tongue, eyes wide open in terror, Kurobe had his head smashed in with his hands bound behind his back.

"No... No please not them... not them!" Kayo pleased as tears blurred her vision, but not enough to hide the next bodies... "Ranga..." she called out and reached for the Tempest wolf... only to let out a scream as she only pulled on his fur... under it was just a mash of bone and gore that once made up the beloved wolf.

"Please wake up! I don't want to see this! Not again!" She cried as her eyes shifted to the people, she cared about most. King Gazel was just a rotting corpse in his tattered and broken armor, crusafied to the wall with a large nail right threw his skull.

"N-no! No! Benimaru! Shuna!" Kayo cried out and she ran to the last two bodies, seeming free of whatever was controlling her... when she touched the deathly still bodies of the siblings, they ignited into black flames that burned them all to ash before she could even check if they were still alive.

"No..." was all she could say as she trembled, falling back into the blood of the others who she could at least still morn over but...

"Satoru!?" Kayo called out as she looked around for the slime not seeing him anywhere. "Satoru! Rimuru! Big brother!" She called out more as she shakingly got up to look for the slime, trying not to look at what remined of the others and what was outside... the village in ruins. Bodies lay bleeding on the ground, painting the ruined city streets with their blood.

Kayo was speechless as she fell to her knees, weak and shocked to see what had happened to her beloved home.

"Wow! I didn't know you dreamed things like this. Do you really want to destroy all that you and Rimuru have built?" Kayo gasped as the familiar yet unfamiliar voice, but she was too scared to turn around and look, fearing it would just be another corpse.

"Hey! Kayo? We are here for you." Rimuru said softly as he came to Kayo's side as she looked completely terrified as she slowly looked at him.

"S-satoru?" she called his old name as he hopped into her lap, ignoring what looked like blood and letting her hug him tightly. "Yeah, it's me. I thought I should come see you in your dreams, and I brought backup to chase away these awful nightmares." the slime cheerfully told her as he whipped her tears. As she shook badly, Veldora looking around at the destruction and carnage that was in this 'dream'. With a flap of his mighty wings, the mighty storm dragon blew away the illusion, leaving only the beautiful black marble gazebo and those that where here to help Kayo recover from her nightmare.

"Were all those the beings she cared about?" Ifrit asked, shocked mostly by the size and detail of every individual's death had in the kitsune's nightmare. "Hmm, All except for Rimuru. Kayo do you not care about us?" Veldora asked, sounding a bit sad she didn't have a nightmare about him, but he was kinda scared of what she would imagen killing him.

"I... I was scared I would find out." Kayo admitted as she rested her over heated body over the cool slime who pat her head. "There, there. Big brother is here to keep the bad stuff away." the slime assured her before Veldora gabbed the sad kitsune and cradled her in his claw as her tear-filled golden eyes looked up at the fearsome dragon.

"If anyone tries to hurt you... they will answer to me little sister, Kayo." the dragon told her, declaring her as family. The Kitsune laughed a little and smirked threw her tears. "Thanks, but I think I'm more suited to be your big sister, Veldorable." Kayo mused, coming up with a nickname for the dragon who looked at her in shock.

"V-Veldorable!?" he repeated in his shock and Rimuru had to snicker.

"Veldora and Adorable mixed together. Veldorable." Kayo explained as she waited for the dragon to process this, and he blushed. "I am a mighty STORM dragon! I will not be given a nickname unsuited for me!" he argued, and Kayo easily went back to looking sad. "I liked it, sorry. I won't use it again." she voiced and hugged the slime like a teddy bear before the dragon back tracked. "I-I didn't mean it like that! I mean... you can use it! You are the only one who can use it to address me!" Valdora told her as Ifrit was holding a blue blanket and draped it over Kayo who was shocked and confused by his actions.

"I want to learn more... about life. You were so sad to see it all destroyed." the fire sprit explained, still looking unsure before Kayo gave him a soft smile. "Want me to teach you?" she asked, and the sprit nodded slowly, unsure of what she would teach him. Rimuru in the meantime tried to keep this connection open, having felt Kayo's heart stop all the way from the capital in the Jura Forest, and it didn't cause any good reactions for many of the others who had felt the kitsune 'die'.

~Rimuru~

"Is she Alive!?" the crimson Kijin asked, as he was the one most visibly worried, roughly grabbing Rimuru as he was concentrating on finding Kayo. No one stopped him as they all looked very worried, Shuna crying in Shion's arms as the older woman tried to comfort her even as she cried too. The goblin and orc kings trying and failing to hold back their tears, Hakuro trying to remain calm, but his body was tense with worry for his best student, Souei had disappeared somewhere as soon as they had all felt it.

"Hey! Don't grab my bestie!" Milim glared at the Kijin, confused why everyone's mood suddenly shifted and were talking about a fox she had never heard of. Then again, she had felt something disappear around the village before it came back the next second, but it was quiet for much longer.

"She's okay. It was just a really bad nightmare." the slime assured the tense room or tried to as it didn't seem to work very well for some. "Just a nightmare!? We all felt it, Lord Rimuru! Her heart stopped! No normal nightmare could have done that to Kayo!" Benimaru yelled at him, tears building in his eyes as he held on tightly to the slime, his nails digging into the slime's body. "H-hey clam down Benimaru. She's fine. She's safe with-"

"NO she isn't! She's not here! Where I can protect her! Lord Rimuru, allow me to go being her back!" the kijin pleased as the slime consulted Great Sage.

Subject shows high levels of stress. Recommended action: Summon Kayo Tempest

'I can summon her?' Rimuru questioned, as he was curious about what the Kitsune Contract offered.

Yes. Requirements are Kayo's consent, incapacitation or death.

The slime tensed as his Unique skill mentioned the last one and thought for a moment as he could still hear Kayo speaking with Veldora and Ifrit about an anime. 'Hey Kayo... Can I summon you? The others are really worried about you.' The slime thought before Milim grabbed Benimaru's wrist tightly. "Let go of my bestie." she hissed angerly at the Kijin who didn't let go even as she was snapping his wrist.

"Hey Milim, don't do that! Benimaru, I'm summoning Kayo okay, so cool it!" the slime quickly told him as there was a blue summoning circle above the slime as it got bigger, and Kayo's form slipped out of it.

"LORD/LADY KAYO!" the who room yelled, save for the confused demon lord and Rimuru who was let go by the red Kijin stood up and held his arms out to quickly grab the summoned kitsune. Flinching as he realized his wrist was broken and falling back with the kitsune on top of him. "Kayo!" Shuna ran over to the two and worriedly touched Kayo but pulled back in shock at how cold her body was. "K-kayo?" she called out in worry, but the rest of the room noticed the tip of one of her 6 tails was slowly moving.

"I'm cold. I need a sexy cinnamon campfire to warm me up~." Kayo purred as she nuzzled her face into Benimaru's neck, making him shiver and blush before he wrapped his arms around her tightly, relived to have her back since she felt so cold against his warm body. "Kayo." he called her name and held back tears as she snuggled closer to him.

"See, she's fine. Drained but fine." The slime told them as everyone was relived and chuckled as they noticed Benimaru turning redder the more Kayo was 'nuzzling' him.

"Lord Kayo? Are you truly alright!? Was your nightmare that terrifying?" Rigurd asked, worried for the kitsune who stiffened at his voice. "It was, and I'm a bit tired. I'm sorry for worrying all of you." Kayo muttered loud enough for the goblin king as she kissed Benimaru's neck, making his face match the color of his hair now. "Oi! Kayo, stop molesting him. You're not alone here!" The slime scolded her as Shuna giggled and tried to help Kayo sit up, leaving her brother laying on the floor a blushing mess. "Only if he wants me too~." she mussed with a smirk, before being hit with one of Rimuru's healing potions followed by Benimaru.

"Everyone felt you die. What happened this time? Spill, and don't try to talk your way around it. I know your nightmares always include the ones you care about and excessive gore." The slime voiced as everyone was quiet, except Milim who was confused and curious about this woman who had six tails but... looked so weak.

"Is this the lady your so worried about? She looks like a real weakling despite all those tails." the girl giggled, and the room grit their teeth as Kayo rolled her eyes at the comment and a familiar face appeared... with a light wardrobe. "Lord Kayo. It is a relief to see you are alright. As requested, I have apprehended Mr. Souei for you, he has yet to break out of this knot." the very scantily clad dryad, that had on just some mint-colored cloth draped over her breasts, ass and nether regions, light green vine markings running over her fair arms and legs.

"T-treyni!?" the slime questioned as the barely clothed woman with the familiar voice in shock. "Yes, Lord Rimuru?" she responded as a dark clothed figure came into the room with a struggling tied up Souei over its shoulder and set the blue Kijin down next to Kayo who was leaning on Benimaru. "Interesting note. The more powerful a creature is the less clothing they feel is optional." Kayo teased the slime but also some of the other males who were looking at an embraced Treyni as the kitsune pulled Souei's head into her lap, calming him down before uniting him.

Shuna and Shion not looking too pleased with the nearly naked dryad and Milim's eyes sparkled excitedly. "Now she's powerful!" the demon lord pointed out as Treyni smiled at her. "I'm pleased you think so Demon Lord Milim, but this strength is not my own and belongs to Lord Kayo. She was very worried about all of her loved ones she gave a bit too much." the dryad explained, and the slime looked at Kayo who was enjoying being with the two kijin.

"Kayo. Explain." he said sternly, and Kayo blinked and looked confused.

"What?" she asked innocently tilting her head in cute confusion.

"How much of your power did you give Treyni?" he asked but she looked away nervously before great sage answered.

Subject Kayo Tempest has given up 85 percent of her total majicule stores.

"85 PERCENT!" The slime yelled in shocked as most in the room gasped in shock as the dryad nodded. "Roughly. Would you like it back Lord Kayo? Now that you have returned, I see no need for me to have it." the Dryad giggled and blushed, strangely giddy. "Sure, come here." Kayo told her as Souei got off her lap so the Dyrad could give Kayo back her magicules. "She can give and take Majicules? How?" Milim asked and then got her answer as the whole room gasped as Kayo grabbed Treyni by the back of her head and locked lips with her.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" The slime yelled in shock as he tried to NOT watch the two 'exchange magicules' while Shion covered Shuna's eyes to late and Milim was watching very intently as Treyni's normal clothes appeared over her body. "Ooh~." the demon lord was very interested as she could see the magical energy left the forest sprit's body and enter the kitsune's, the way it was happing was making her feel odd inside.

Slowly the two parted with a string of saliva still connecting their tongues together before it snapped and they parted with soft pants, Treyni blushing happily and fanning herself a little. Kayo smiling contently as she felt much better with her energy back and having a 'kiss' with an attractive female.

"I-I will take my leave now." Treyni said and disappeared as quickly as she came, her face bright red with a big smile on it.

"What's wrong Slime ball? Jealous~?" Kayo teased, not seeing the shocked faces of Benimaru and Souei behind her. Rimuru was turned away, a little depressed at what Kayo had so boldly done. "No wonder she doesn't let you out." was all the slime said and Kayo pouted. "That's mean, Rimuru-nee-san. It was just the most effective way of giving back my majicules~. Well... second most effective~ but I don't think you and Shuna are ready to see that~." Kayo teased as she crawled over to the slime and hugged him.

The slime could feel how cold her body was, but still she had a warm touch to her.

"We missed you, and we've got a little something for you too." Kayo told him but the slime was quiet as she pulled out a brown glass bottle from her tails and showed it to the slime who gasped in shock. "I-is that!? Milk Coffee!?" He turned into his humanoid form and grabbed the bottle quickly... feeling cold in his human hands as his eyes glittered in excitement form seeing the light brown liquid in a familiar bottle.

"This is exactly what I wanted~. Tha-No! You're not getting away with it that easily." Rimuru pouted and sent the bottle down as he crosses his arms in resolve, facing her. "You're staying here until you get some proper sleep! And you're not allowed to give away more than 40 percent of your magicules!" he told her sternly and Kayo frown. "70 percent, the Jura Forest is vast, and the city keeps growing, not to mention the other settlements under my protection. I can do fine with only 30 percent of my reserves." Kayo argued.

"Hey, I'm here protecting everyone, so you don't need to! 30!" the slime rebutted as he glared at the kitsune. Everyone watching the two siblings argue in amazement. "70! You don't know half of what I do to keep you safe, slime ball! Things you don't even think about in and out of the Jura Forest." Kayo shot back, confusing the slime who only got more worried as he grabbed the fox's face and stretched her cheeks, and she did the same to them only she was able to stretch his much farther.

"That's enough!" Rigurd and Hakuro yelled and smacked the two on the head swiftly, making them both let go in shock more than pain, at least in Rimuru's case. Rigurd disciplining the slime while Hakuro took the kitsune. "Lord Kayo is back and I'm sure she is very tired, Lord Rimuru. Let her get some sleep and I'm sure she will feel much more agreeable to your concerns." Rigurd reasoned as the slime looked at his sister who yawned and had large dark marks under her eyes that almost look like she had thick makeup on.

"Sleep sounds wonderful but I'm going to the hot springs first. Dwargon, does not have indoor plumbing." Kayo pouted as she carefully got up, covering a yawn. "But I could fall asleep in the bath so I could use some company~, Beni? Sou-sou?" she called the two kijin's pet names softly, making them blush as she used them.

"Oi! No co-ed bathing! Shuna, Shion go with her, make sure she doesn't drown." the slime scolded, and Kayo pouted. "Virgin." she muttered before leaving for the hot springs, not really caring about her new little shadow.

"Is there something you need dear?" Kayo asked as she reached the changing room and took off her clothes, a bit degusted at how they stuck to her body from all her stress sweat. "Who do you think you are to talk to my bestie Rimuru like that?" Milim asked, curious and intrigued by the kitsune who put away her clothes and got a towel before heading to the showers.

"I'm Kayo Tempest. Rimuru is my big brother even if it feels more like my little brother sometimes." Kayo sighed as she sat down to star washing herself off, excited to have lavender soap again. "Ahh~ lavender my precious treasure~ how I've missed you." she mussed as Milim was watching her.

"Are you going to take another dip? Seems to me like you were just in here." Kayo questioned as she filled the wooden bucket with hot water and dumped it over her head. "I was, it was fun but what are you doing?" Milim asked, having seen the other two clean themselves before a bath. "Washing my hair? It feels all gross and oily, not to mention I might have a white hair somewhere." she told the little demon lord as she looked down at her wet hair and was avoiding looking into the fogged-up mirrors.

"It's at the tips, like your tails." Milim said and was reaching out to grab one of Kayo's tails before the woman stopped her. "That's impolite sweetie. Hm? Do you want me to help wash your hair?" Kayo asked as she noticed the girl's hair looking a bit messy. "Huh?" Milim looked at her in confusion and Kayo was confused by her confusion. "Don't worry. I will be gentle. What's your name, sorry I didn't ask before." Kayo apologized, even if she already knew who the girl was.

"My name is Milim." she said softly, and Kayo gave her a soft smile.

"Well, Milim, would you like to join me for another dip?" she asked the girl and let go of the girl's hand and pet her head, feeling the grease that was still there.

When Shion and Shuna got back to the hot springs, they could hear Milim talking excitedly to Kayo as the kitsune washed her hair gently and tired it into two cute braids to keep them out of the water, the young girl who seemed to really like them as she held the woman's hand as they slipped into the hot springs together.

The two Kijin women shared a look and a smile as they left the two alone for a little while.

~Later~

The slime was uneasy, pacing around his room, talking with another Kayo about what she had learned in Dwargon, King Dwargo having given the kitsune unrestricted access to the kingdom's WHOLE library.

"How can she read so much so fast? It's making my head hurt." the slime mentioned as great sage piped up.

Kayo Tempest does not have access to the skill accelerated thought process, nor any other skill that would allow her to absorb information quickly and accurately.

"Does that mean... she could aways speed read?" the slime questioned before his door burst open suddenly and Kayo and Milim came in. "Sleepover time, slime ball." Kayo mussed as she plopped on top of him, her face on his head and he didn't mind it too much.

"Fine. Get some sleep. All of you." the slime told her, and Kayo lay on her stomach and held him under her chin. "Oh no. Not yet. We have got to talk about who is Milim's one true bestie." Kayo told him and the slime was confused and worried.

"Lord Kayo! You don't mean for us to stay in Lord Rimuru's room, do you?" Shion asked as she and Shuna stood just before the threshold. "Of course. He's the best at keeping nightmares away and I would like to have a little girl time. You would not believe the lack of girl power in Dwargon!" Kayo started as the girls all started to talk and talk, Milim getting in on it and talking about some fellow Demon Lords.

That was when the slime realized Kayo was trying to get information out of Milim! Doing a good job to make it more casual and not forced but the kitsune ended up being the first to fall asleep followed by Milim, eventual Shion and Shuna fell asleep with them. The slime still under Kayo's head didn't move much but resigned to his fate of being her pillow again, even dealing with her droll.

'She has been awake for a while. Is that why her breath smells like coffee?' he questioned but then he felt a cold chill go threw him as he couldn't feel Kayo's body rise and fall with her breath anymore. "Kayo? Kayo?" he called her name worriedly trying to shake her but the kitsune was not responding.

"This isn't just another nightmare... is it?" the slime asked, and great sage spoke up.

Analyzing... Subject had become the target of a demon attempting to make her its host.
