I Got Reincarnated! - Kitsune Chronicles
~Chapter 18~ New Highs and Lows
'Yeeeeeee~ Today is a great day!' Kayo thought happily as they left the mess hall, the sun was bright with fluffy white clouds giving the day some shade from the hot sun. The image of that stranger looming over her with something in their hand unnerved her, but she wouldn't dear ask Souei if he had laid her in bed before or after that stranger left.
If he even saw that stranger.
"Are you both free? I could use some company while I check in on somethings around the village." The kitsune asked, turning to her husbandos, while Benimaru was in his causal clothes Souei was still in his ninja attire that Kayo usually saw him in.
"Of course, we would love to keep you company, Lady Kayo." Benimaru voiced and Souei nodded in agreement, the kitsune pouting a little at the way he addressed her, opening her mouth to say it but shook her head as she smiled at them. "Great! Souei are you sure? Your still dressed like you're on a mission." Kayo asked as she had noticed him wearing it a lot to the point she questioned if he had duplicates of the same outfit.
"This is fine, Lord Kayo. My mission is to watch over you today." He told her and Kayo blurted it out before she could stop herself. "Did my brother really give you that mission or do you just not have different clothes." She accused bluntly as the ninja looked a little startled and Benimaru chuckled.
"He has identical ones in his closet. He took a note from you Lady Kayo and has a home hidden outside of the village too." Benimaru told her and Souei blushed, looking away. The kitsune not asking how the he knew that, having her suspicions but brushing them off for now.
"Hmm, let's fix that then. I need to go pick up an order from the clothing shop anyway. We can get you something else to wear too." She suggested and grabbed the ninja who obediently went with her, followed by an amused Benimaru who admired the way her golden eyes lit up with excitement.
~Clothing Shop~
The cute bell jingled above the door as Kayo pulled Souei into the shop, Benimaru coming in behind them, curious as to what the kitsune had in mind.
"Welcome! Oh! Lady Kayo, right on time. We have your order ready; we could have just sent it with one of your carrier foxes." Chimed a Goblina who was managing the shop while Shuna, Gran and Dord are away with other business. "It's fine. I'm also here to get this guy, some casual clothes. You're just the right person to help me, Junko." Kayo mussed as she gave Souei a light tap on his chest and the goblina looked very excited when the kitsune leader used her name.
"Of course! It's a great honor, Lord Kayo! Do you have something in mind? Maybe a different color?" she asked as she came closer carefully, having heard of how possessive the kitsune was of her men. Kayo stood beside her and looking at Souei carefully, the ninja feeling a little awkward with being analyzed by the two females as Benimaru was amused at his friend's discomfort.
"Hmm let's stick with dark blues, maybe some black and white accents? Something that isn't lose but not so much form fitting that it allows for movement. We are going for casual but comfortable. Nothing flashy so no intricate patterns or designs." Kayo mussed as the Goblina nodded eagerly at her words. "Right! Junko will not disappoint you, Lord Kayo!" the goblina giggled as she ran off to fetch the items that fit what the kitsune had wanted. The fox herself amused that the goblina she named after a Danganronpa villain that was good with fashion.
"What did you order from here? It's not necessary to get me new clothes, Lord Kayo." Souei voiced once the other female was gone. Kayo smirked as she noticed the ninja lightly blushing as he looked away from her. "Still, it's fun to try something different, maybe relax a little." she suggested and walked behind the ninja who was unsure of what she was doing before he felt her hands on his shoulders and then a pop as she applied a bit of pressure.
"Ahhh~." the ninja moaned, instantly blushing as he realized what had slipped out. Benimaru also looked shocked as she just had her hands on his friend's back before the strange pop. "You're so stiff, that's no good for you even if you're not a ninja. It effects your mobility and can be harmful for your body in the long run." Kayo scolded him and she kept her hands on his back and shoulders, the ninja shivering as there were more pops that released tension that he didn't know he had.
"Maybe a trip to the massage pallor would do you some good. It's why I taught so many how to help others relax." Kayo reasoned, but selfishly she didn't want someone else to take care of Souei before she was pulled away from him and into someone's warm, strong arms.
The kitsune blushed as his scent wrapped around her too.
"Who helps you relax, Lady Kayo?" he asked, his breath caressing her fox ears on top of her head. "I-I do fine on my own, Benimaru." she used his proper name before Junko came back with the clothes.
"Um? Am I interrupting something?" she asked, unsure as she had heard a moan but wanted to prove herself to the kitsune. "No. Are those the clothes you picked out?" Kayo asked, trying to get out of the red kiji's arms but he wasn't letting her go easily. "Y-yes, I also have your order so you can try it on when you like." Junko mentioned as she watched the Kitsune stay in the handsome kijin's arms.
"Souei, go try them on and let's see how they work." Kayo told the ninja, pointing to the dressing rooms. "Benimaru, let me go." she told the red kijin sternly before he listened and let her go. Kayo then took the clothes from Junko and dragged Souei over so he could try out something new.
~A Few Minutes Later~
"L-lord Kayo, how do you like it?" Junko asked as she was nervous, being alone with the attractive Benimaru but having the powerful kitsune not far from what was 'her's'. Despite Kayo being in a different dressing room then Souei, they were both taking quite a while.
"Hmm needs some work but it's a good start." Kayo voiced as she seemed to be thinking or distracted?
"It's just a proto type but it feels so much better." the kitsune mentioned and came out, Benimaru turned red in shock, his jaw dropped at seeing a topless Kayo, wearing a strange black and gold laced top that only covered her breasts that almost seemed to have gotten bigger?
"L-lord Kayo!" Junko stuttered, blushing as she admired the woman who was showing off this new item she called a bra, to Benimaru who was not sure what to think of it as he tried not to look at her chest and how... full and perky they looked.
"Hey Benimaru what do you think? I want to get a male option on this." Kayo mussed as she came up to the red Kijin who looked away, trying to be polite as he turned red.
"It looks scandalous, Lord Kayo." Souei voiced as he had finally come out of the dressing room, dressed in a simple dark blue shirt with sleeves that widen a bit at his fore arms, black slacks and a white thin ban around his waist that held his two swords at the small of his back. He used the cut curtain to covered Kayo to help her modesty. "Really? In a good way or a bad way?" the kitsune asked and slipped off the fabric so Souei also got a nice look at the new article of clothing.
"Go-Bad way." He told her and tried to cover her again as the door opened, with a cute bell chime.
"Ah! Lady Kayo didn't know you would be here. Did you-ah!?" Dord greeted the kitsune who smiled as she saw him. "Hey Dord, do you think this is scandalous in a good way or bad way? It supposed to go under clothes but it's sad to see your work get hidden away under other layers." Kayo mentioned as she took off the fabric Souei kept putting on her to show the Dwarf what his work looked like on a real woman and not just a mannequin.
"Oh! It looks very alluring on you Lady Kayo, but um... perhaps you should hide that under your clothes for now." He mentioned as he could feel the death glares from the two powerful Kijin staring him down before Kayo glanced back at them and they looked away, like bashful boys. "But you did a great job, and even the ladies at Butterflys were interested in these. It will bring in a lot of work but also a lot of coin. You up for it?" Kayo suggested, turning back to the dwarf with a confident smirk, as she could see the dwarf was already day dreaming about the elven ladies more than the money before he held out his hand so she could shake it.
"It's a deal, you get their measurements and I'll get right on it. Do you want Lady Shuna and Miss Shion's as well?" he asked the fox and at the mention of his sister the red Kijin paled as he thought of his little sister wearing something like Kayo was. "Do you have them ready? Shion's for sure gonna like her's." Kayo mentioned with excitement as her tails waged, then giggled as her little 'gift' was double edged.
"Of course, Junko can you get them too please." Dord asked his assistant who was happy to escape the room as Kayo reached into her tails and pulled out some golden coins. "Here's payment for everything, sorry I don't have any sliver on me at the moment." the kitsune told the dwarf who took the coins with a knowing smile.
"It's alright, may as well just put it on your tab since I know your good for it." Dord mussed as he went to put the coins away and Junko came back with several boxes, but two stood out among all the brown ones as there was a Lavander and pink boxes among them.
"Sorry for all the requests. I've got a few measurements already when you want to work on them." Kayo mussed as she pulled out a small note book the dwarf eagerly took. "Not at all my lady! I'm glad I can help you with any problems you have. As for those charms-" he was saying before Junko knocked over one of the boxes as she set them down on the counter, a cute outfit caught the kitsune's attention.
"S-sorry My lady. I'll get that that right away!" Junko paled as Kayo came over and picked up the outfit with her eyes glowing, but her tails were wagging with excitement. "Why not put that on now, Lady Kayo? It would look cute on you." Dord encouraged as the Kitsune looked unsure. "I don't know if I can pull off cute, Dord." she admitted, putting the clothes back into the box and going to take the others to put them away in her void space for later.
"I'm sure you could, what else are you going to use that outfit I worked so hard to make for?" Dord asked and looked at the two kijin's who were silent as they watched the kitsune's tails drop and become still.
'Cosplay.' Kayo thought in embarrassment, having liked the outfit from the anime she first saw it from. "I-it was just a stupid impulse. I can just give it to Rimuru and make him wear it. It would look way better on him then me any way." Kayo muttered bitterly, before she felt two hands on her shoulders. She looked back and saw Benimaru and Souei both blushing.
"Please, at least try it on Kayo." Benimaru asked, turning redder as he said her name that ignited something inside the kitsune. "Yes, you wanted me to have these new clothes for a change. Why don't you also do a little change, Kayo." Souei reasoned, blushing as he said her name too without any lord and lady in front of it.
"Okay." Kayo smiled, feeling encouraged to try on the outfit at least once.
~Later~
"M-maybe I should change; everyone is just staring at me." Kayo bashfully mewed as she did her errands and was on her way to the assembly building. A lot of the residence taking note of the cutely dressed kitsune with the two Kijins at her sides like bodyguards.
"Because you look very cute, Kayo." Benimaru told her, smirking as he saw her blush darken. Souei pulling her close and kissing her cheek encouraged her threw her embarrassment. "You can't very well run in this short skirt, let alone jump around recklessly, Kayo." he almost purred her name, the ninja amused at how much a simple kiss and just saying her name effected the kitsune.
"S-stop it. I know it was stupid but I like skirts, okay." Kayo pouted as she pulled away from the ninja and kept making her way to her destination. Embarrassed she was out in one of her dream cosplays where no one knew what cosplay even was, never mind manga or anime! Then again, the slime might recognize it and make fun of her for her sad attempt at cosplay.
While she didn't even have the same body type as the 15-year-old boy, she adored his crossdressing disguise.
A black off shoulder blouse with a light blue-ribbon bow as an accessory over her left breast, of course her large chest filled it out more and raised the blouse almost over the hem of red skirt to expose her belly button. The skirt was much the same with some black lace instead of white frills, decorated with her demon ribbon on her right hip, and like before, the back was a bit too short to cover the kitsune's puffy posterior, so her tails did most of the covering there.
Then the rest of her legs where just covered by some black tights that stretched over most of her thick legs, some white kitten heeled boots she got in Dawargon, a sliver anklet around each boot adorned with brilliant blue sapphires.
The cosplay was almost perfect but the kitsune of course had her own touches, as her hair had some cute blue ribbons just below her kitsune ears, she didn't want to wear the red leather bracelets so she had on some black fingerless gloves instead. Then around her neck was the extended blue collar Rimuru had put on her when he first 'grounded' her as a little kit. This was the most embarrassing part of her outfit as the bell gave off a sweet chime when she moved to roughly. Never mind the Kunni pouches hidden under her skirt that Souei had found, she was cosplaying as an assassin after all.
The staring mostly stopped when they entered the building and Kayo let out a relived sigh. "That was so embarrassing. I never doing that again." she muttered in her mother tongue that no one but the slime understood.
"Lady Kayo? Is that you?" Eren asked as she and her group, plus Milim, approached them.
'Fuck!' Kayo thought in sudden panic, but gave them a nervous smile. "Yeah, just thought I would try and look cute today. I might have failed given all the looks I got coming here." the kitsune nervously laughed as she saw the humans give her the same look as they toss suspicious looks at the two kijin with her that gave off dangerous auras.
"You look so cute big sis!" Milim praised the kitsune, her blue eyes sparking as she hugged the woman and got her head pat. "Thanks Starlight. That means a lot." Kayo mussed, feeling better when Milim told her she looked cute, even if she was so much older, she still had the mentality of a child who will say what was on their mind.
The humans looked at each other before nodding in silent agreement.
"Lady Kayo, you look absolutely adorable!" Eren encouraged sweetly.
"Yeah, weird but adorable. I's definably date-neverminded." Kaval was saying before he felt the murderous looks from the two Kijin's for what he was about to say.
"If it's what you like Lady Kayo. You and Lord Rimuru are strange monsters." Gido reasoned with a nod. "It's still hard to believe you were just a little fox kit just a few months ago. Now your... this." he looked at Kayo's six tails she didn't keep concealed much anymore, rather than her chest and hips that where bigger and wider than most females he had seen.
"Yeah, I may have the title of Guardian of the Jura Forest but it's been far from kind to me or my brother. We have to be strong to survive after all." Kayo mentioned and the Humans looked at her wide eyed with shocked realization.
"Y-you're the..."
"Guardian of..."
"THE JURA FOREST!"
Eren, Gido and Kaval asked in shock as their leader held up a wooden job posting that was put up by the 'Guardian of the Jura Forest' a few easy gold dwarven coins for each of them.
"Oh? You guys are going to clean up those pesky crabs? Great, it's an easy job but it takes a while. Is that why Starlight is with you?" Kayo asked, having glanced at the posting to see what job it was, as she looked at the young girl that had strangely been with them, there was no illusion or disguise the kitsune could find.
"Yeah! I can track monsters really easily and Rimuru said it would be fun to watch them scuddle around in a panic." the little demon lord giggled darkly and Kayo had to mentally agree as the humans gulped as the little girl's dark humor.
"Okay, but don't have too much fun, you need to bring back 30 of them to fulfill the job posting." Kayo reasoned with the girl who then pouted, crossing her arms before Kayo pat her head. "May the stars ever protect you." the kitsune muttered in her mother tongue, other than a few sparkles it would seem like nothing happened, but the kitsune had cast a small spell on the demon lord, nothing that she would really notice unless she looked for it.
"Um well, we better get going. Any words of Wisdom before we leave?" Kaval joked before Kayo pulled out a black wooden fox talesmen and tossed it to Eren who caught it, more out of shock then anything. "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this. When you find yourselves in trouble, channel some magicules into this. It will summon some foxes to help protect you. Or find you if Kaval gets you lost again." she told them with a knowing smile and Kaval was going to say something rude but the two kijin where intimidating.
"Thank you, Lady Kayo." he said and the humans gave her grateful smiles at her thoughtfulness, Eren holding the talisman close as she could feel the care put into making it.
"Hey! What about me big sis!? I'm going with them too!" Milim spoke up pouting as Kayo tilted her head in thought. "Well, I was going to let my big brother give this to you but I guess it doesn't matter which one of us gives it to you." she mussed and pulled out a small necklace that instantly had the little girl excited.
It was a simple looking necklace, made out of spun magisteal, hell moth silk, and Kayo's own fur to make it as durable as possible for the little demon lord. There was a crystal blue slime shaped pendent in the middle with some sparking small crystals threaded along it. Milim looked at in wonder and delight as she could see much more went into this simple little necklace then anything.
"Milim?" Kayo called her name worriedly before the little girl hugged her tightly before looking up at the kitsune. "Thank you, big sis! I love it! Oh! Put it on me please?!" she asked eagerly and Kayo smiled and nodded, putting the necklace on the little girl who was beaming with excitement at her gift.
"Take care of them, Starlight." Kayo told the girl who only laughed as she stood proudly.
"I won't disappoint you, big sis! Come on you lazy humans! Let's go!" Milim excitedly pulled along her temporary underlings who felt a little insulted at having a child looking demon lord taking care of them.
"Are you sure that was wise, Lord Kayo?" Souei asked, going back to being serious. "Maybe not, but it should keep her busy and those three safer on their job." She reasoned with a tired sigh and made her way to the accounting department she had set up. The two kijin still following her, more curious as they had not explored the assembly building much themselves and the doors all looked the same. There were no inscriptions on what each room was used for, but it didn't matter to the kitsune who had personally picked out the uses for each room before the building was even in construction.
"Welcome back, Lord Kayo! Have a seat! Would you like some tea? Snacks maybe?" Asked a very egger looking Hobgoblin asked as he greeted her first, among the many monsters sat at desks looking over some documents, the rest standing up and bowing to her once they realized who had come in.
"Welcome back, Lord Kayo!"
"Thanks, I just wanted to check in and bring back the spoils of war~." Kayo joked as she walked into the room, not caring about how she was dressed as those in the accounting department worshiped her more then Rimuru, the slime was pure evil to Tempest's finance team.
~Later, Tempest Medical Research Hospital~
"Are you two being serious?" Kayo asked as she looked back at the two Kijins who had stopped following her after following her most of the day while she ran several errands around the village, now thy were unsure of entering the stark white building, the smell, or lack thereof, was a bit unnerving to most monsters unless they really had to be brought in, which wasn't often thanks to Rimuru splashing high potions everywhere.
It was only in special cases monsters even came close to this building.
"Do you really have to come here, Lord Kayo?" Souei asked as Benimaru was trying not to show his fear but he was shaking a little as he looked at the large white building that had a large red 6-pointed star painted on it with a black fox wrapped around a staff in its center. "Yes. Don't tell me you two are scared of this place too?" The kitsune asked, letting out an annoyed sigh as she walked over to them with a stern look.
"No! O-of course, not!" Benimaru told her a bit too loudly, she raised an eye brow and crossed her arms under her chest. "You two need a wellness check, that's an order as your boss. I want to make sure you're both alright and that there is nothing else going on that can't be seen." Kayo told them sternly, a bit of worry in her golden eyes. "Please? If it makes you feel better, I can check you both personally. You would have to undress a little though~." she purred, trying to tempt them into getting a check-up. The two males glanced at each other unsurely, not sure what the 'checkup' was about, but got curious when she mentioned undressing them.
"Okay." they agreed and she smiled softly as them before she grabbed their hands, gently at first but noticed they didn't want to move closer.
"Are you two really going to make me carry you inside?" she asked, a bit annoyed as they looked away nervously, blushing before the kitsune sighed and just picked up both males with only a little difficulty. Souei draped over her left shoulder and Benimaru under her right arm, both kijin too shocked at the fox's strength to really try and prevent her from carrying them both into the hospital.
~After Check Ups~
"See. That wasn't so bad, was it?" Kayo asked, smiling as she wrote down her findings in Souei's file, the ninja kijin blushing darkly before quickly putting his clothes back on. Having been stripped completely naked while in the cold exam room. Benimaru snickering in amusement as he had watched his friend shamefully put his clothes back on after Kayo's hands had been ALL over his body to 'examine' him. Just like she had done with him not to long ago and the ninja had been amused at his discomfort before it was his turn.
While neither of them knew much about these kinds of medical exams, the questions the kitsune asked where odd and... intimate. She asked them all with a professional face but her eyes and tails gave her real emotions away. She was enjoying putting her hands all over their bodies and checking them over, even their lower parts got checked for any signs of infections or problems.
"Lady Kayo, what is all this for? Kijin hardly get sick, and any injuries we obtain can be healed by Lord Rimuru." Benimaru asked, still confused as Kayo sighed heavily, putting away Souei's file in her tails before she looked at the two with deadly seriousness.
"Stop thinking like that. We can't always just rely on Rimuru's healing potions. Anyone can get sick, it's just a matter of what they get sick WITH. Even your own bodies can turn on you, your mind, certain substances, and even time itself can be anyone's undoing. Those potions can't heal things like that, it could even make things worse." Kayo scolded Benimaru, who was a bit shocked at the fire behind the kitsune's eyes as she glared at him.
"Besides illness, there are other things like genetics, childhood nutrition and births to consider that are very important to the health of a nation's people. Never mind all the species that will be intermingling with each other could bring about new illnesses in other species knowingly or unknowingly." the kitsune explained but she got a cold chill running threw her body.
"Lord Kayo? Is something wrong?" Souei asked, having seen her shiver, even if the kitsune had changed into some warm black slacks, shirt and thrown a white coat over it, looking much more like the other head medics that were around, as opposed to her cosplay.
"I'm not sure, something has been... off but I'm not sure what." Kayo explained and Souei stiffened at her words as he was fully dressed and looked a little guilty about keeping something important form her. Then they could all feel the malice that was appearing back at the center of the village.
With one look between them, they swiftly took off to the point of origin.
~Center of Rimuru City~
"Trya!? What is going on here? Has something happened to Treyni?" Kayo questioned worriedly, as she appeared with the two kijin and Master Hakuro. The kitsune didn't like the aura coming from younger dryad who was clearly upset and distressed for a very serious reason, they dryad's form a bit transparent.
"There is an emergency. The Calamity is approaching and your reinforcements have all failed, oh great guardian." the dryad accused and glared at the fox who looked worried and shocked. "What!? Imposable! Kyoya is a-" Kayo was saying before she froze... trying to contact the foxes that had been guarding the sealed cave, no response, only a weird disconnected static.
"No... when did this happen?" Kayo questioned becoming pale, a chill running threw her body as she gave a quick glance at Souei, the one she trusted with her foxes and their care. 'No... would he really keep their deaths a secret from me?' She questioned and a dark whisper spoke into her ear.
'He would.'
"Last night your additional seals and foxes fell. Letting a calamity class monster, Charybdis, be revived." Trya accused as Kayo growled at her accusation. "They did no such thing! Those seals should have lasted at least another century or two, Treyni personally testified to it herself." Kayo marched up to the younger dryad. "Someone had to have tampered with things, and killed my foxes. Was it those danm clowns again!?" Kayo asked her as the young dryad shook her head.
"I do not know, your foxes where the last to-Agh!" The dryad shook her head and took a step back as the fox was very close and very pissed off, both her eyes had turned demonic black. "Then don't come blaming me if you didn't witness things yourself little twig. I lost 5 of my best fighters to guard that stupid little cave that was supposed to hold it indefinitely." Kayo hissed angerly as she crossed her arms under her chest, claws digging into her upper arms, trying to control her anger.
"Kayo? What's going on?" Rimuru asked as he looked worried for the kitsune who was giving off a lot of killing intent. Milim was quiet as she observed the power spiking radically within the fox woman. "Very Bad news. We need to call an emergency meeting, Now." Kayo hissed and those that saw the look in her demonic eyes, didn't want to disobey her in that moment. Not even the shock of seeing Kayo slap Souei across the face, leaving an angry red mark on his cheek, but he was still standing.
"Don't, EVER, keep deaths secret from me!" The kitsune hissed at the shocked kijin who looked at her with hurt wide eyes before they turned sad and closed in acceptance. "Yes, mistress." was all the kijin said, still following her as she physically strode to the assembly building and to the meeting room.
~Meeting Room A~
"Charybdis was born long, long ago and has died and revived. It's a violent ruler of the skies. No less expected of a child of Veldora, the ruler and true guardian of the forest." The young Dryad barbed as she shook a little under the glare of the unhappy kitsune. "Veldora's Child?" Rimuru questioned before the dryad answered him, Kayo oddly quiet behind the slime, and he couldn't see how her tails twitched in thought, the older Kijins on either side of her while Shuna was seated at the slime's left.
"It was generated from a cloud of Veldora's Magicules. It's violence equals that of a demon lord. My sisters, including Treyni, have set out to slow its process, but they are no match for it alone. It seems to be heading for this land for some unknown reason." The dryad kept explaining, but was thinking about how she had left her sister's trying to take out the massive monster who flew so high in the sky.
"Against Charybdis, ruler of the skies, waging war on land is futile. I have come to advise you to bolster your defenses and prepare and airborne combat force as soon as possible." she finished and noticed the kitsune seem distracted, the nature sprit glared at the fox woman for her in attention. Only to flinch as the kitsune blinked when Rimuru started to consult her.
'What if it's coming this way because it's after me? Maybe it figured out that Veldora's inside of me.' The slime worried before Kayo placed a gentle hand on his body, giving him a tingly warm feeling as it reached easily inside of the slime's body, gently sipping his magicules. 'Somehow, I doubt it has the mental capacity to figure something like that out. Someone else is behind this production, on the surface it appears to be a sloppy gamble. Do you trust me?' Kayo questioned and the slime was confused.
'Of course, I do. What do you have in mind?' Rimuru asked, not having a plan for fight or defeating this new enemy, but had a feeling Kayo knew much more than what even Trya had told them. The curtains closed and blocked out all light, only the glow from the dryad and Kayo's golden eyes where visible in the room.
"W-what's going on?" Trya stuttered out nervously, looking to the kitsune's golden eyes, not noting the serval glowing pairs that appeared behind her once the room was a black as a void. Many others were shocked but still felt calm in the darkness as they heard Kayo's voice.
'For this operation we will need the full might of Tempest and her allies. The revival of Charybdis while the seal was at its weakest is no accident, someone wanted to set it loose.' The kitsune voiced, but her lips did not move. Right Infront of everyone there appeared a large glowing shark like creature with several smaller ones around it, the table taking on the appearance of a forest of trees as it glowed with a strange magic.
"W-what's going on? What is this?" Fuze asked as he and the other natives of the world had never seen a hologram before, staring at it in wonder and amazement. Milim reached out in shock as her hand ran through the images of the smaller shark like creatures, she could see the magicules running through all the summoned creatures as if they were right in front of her.
'This is a combination of skills I have been developing. What we are seeing is real time feed of the whereabouts of Charybdis and the 13 Megalodons it summoned.' The kitsune explained as her mind and facets were working hard to maintain all the connections and skills needed.
"What!?" they all questioned in shock at they looked in the direction of the kitsune who seemed to have small sparks appear around her body, showing her outline while still in the dark. Her golden eyes serious and unblinking.
'Unfortunately, this is as close a visual as I can get due to Charybdis' innate skill it shares with its summons, Majic Jamming, it disturbs the flow of Magicules around it in a wide aera. It also makes it strongly resistant to Magic and any external uses of Magicules, so hitting it with powerful magic attacks will just exhaust our forces. We need forces high in the sky and massive heavy physical attacks, however even that will be very difficult.' Kayo went on as information popped up before everyone with a list of skills.
'It's other intrinsic skill, Gravity Flight, enables the it to float in the air naturally without the use of wings or Magicules. Then there is also it's resistances, Cancel Pain, Resist Melee Attack & Paralysis will make it that much harder to bring down and that's not even mentioning the Ultraspeed Regeneration it has on top of it all.' The kitsune grumbled and the slime could feel the dread as she listed its skills and abilities.
"How are we meant to fight THAT!?" Rimuru asked as he was unsure of what other information Kayo had as he could feel her hand inside him but Great sage hadn't said anything about the intrusion.
"We would need our forces in the sky to bring them down and the ground forces will finish them off." Benimaru spoke up, watching what Kayo was doing, mulling over the information she had on this new danger.
"We are willing to put our lives on the line for this mission but there's just too many for the 6 of us alone to handle." Souka spoke up, from her seat far down the other end next to her brother, giving a hard stare at the kitsune's golden eyes, determined not to lose to the woman. "Ha! Don't forget little sister we can also fly; you will have the great Gabiru to tame the skies!" The argent dargonnewt voiced bravely before Vesta spoke up.
"What about Dwargon's Pegasus Knights? Surely, they will be of great help here." the former minster asked, golden eyes locked onto him as he was beside the shocked dryad.
'Already requested and approved, Dwargon will be supplying us with 150 Pegasus knights and other resources that specialize in agility and long-range attacks. The Lizardmen chieftain, Abiru is also sending some warriors from The Darkon to help with air support, so it won't just be his children and their followers in the skies. Bringing our air support alone up to 190 strong.' Kayo informed, a stock image of a knight on a winged horse appeared along with the image of a dragonnewt, their respective number under their images but the fox was excluding the 'other resources' from Dwargon.
"The Darkon? I've never heard of them." Gabiru scoffed, confused and a bit insulted as his sister spoke up after being shocked by the mention. "The Drakon are father's personal guards, named and trained by Lord Kayo herself. It was after you were banished. The fox came and trained some of father's guards personally." Souka filled her brother in and looked down in shame, having seen the kitsune take on her father's best before she named them and trained them with some unknown methods... those guards where not the same after.
"How good can they be when trained by a fox?" the dragonnewt asked only to hear a chilling giggle. 'You will see shortly, little hatchling~.' he heard in his mind alone and looked to the smirking kitsune as her grin was showing in the dark room.
"Everything but the battle plan is in place? How many of our own forces do we have?" Benimaru asked as more icons appeared, Hobgoblins, Tempest Wolves, Orcs, Kijin, and Kitsune, all but the last two where high as Kijin's counted was 4 and the kitsunes where at 16.
"Kitsune? Are your people also joining this battle?" Benimaru questioned as Kayo's golden eyes turned to him, glowing with many colors sparking within them.
'Of course. 5 of our own where lost. Which is the worrying part. Minus Charybdis, there are 13 visible enemies, and according to the last reports of my team there where 13 bodies of lesser dragons nearby... my foxes' bodies where not found. It's safe to assume they perished... and their bodies being used for some other vile means.' Kayo reasoned, before showing those present the 5 fox pearls as their images and names came up.
The Rimuru felt a chill as he noticed how detailed the fox's information was, meaning Kayo was very close to these foxes.
~Road to Dwargon~
"You work too much." Rimuru muttered, in the arms of Kayo, overlooking the assembled forces the slime was impressed. The extra intimidating looking dragonewts that had arrived just before the Pegasus knights. The kitsune dress in all black like a ninja but without any armor or shoes, just the black fingerless gloves on her hands.
"Actually, I just got bored and Abiru asked for my help with a different matter." Kayo vaguely explained as she eyed Abiru's children who looked at their father's guards with surprise and shock, they could see how disciplined and dangerous their kinsmen appeared. They radiated strength threw their determined eyes as their leader came up to the heads of Tempest. "Lord Rimuru! Lord Kayo! The Drakon are at your command!" the 'captain' of the dragonnewts nearly yelled saluting as he had approached them, the kitsune looked unimpressed, rolling her eyes.
"It's good to see you again, Bruno." Kayo called her brother's name as the dragonnewt transformed into the orange haired box brother. "Why does this not surprise me?" Rimuru asked as the fox chuckled. "Who else besides our sister could keep up their training?" Bruno questioned, jerking his thumb at the small platoon of dragonewts that looked ready for war.
"I'm running field medics and defenses, Benimaru is the commander for the attack." Kayo informed the fox, who gave her a sly grin. "Not. A. Word." the kitsune his at her brother who only chuckled before walking over to Benimaru to throw his arm around and talk about their plan of attack thankfully.
"Is Filex the captain of the Pegasus knights?" the slime asked and Inari rolled her eyes. "They're not that easy to get into, slime ball. Father is sending Captain Dorf and Kakashi-sensei." she told him but the slime was confused at the second name.
"Kakashi-sensei?" he asked and thought of the sliver haired masked ninja before Kayo looked up as Captain Dorf landed his horse and so did a riderless horse, coming close and nuzzling the kitsune. "Hey Ivory~ what are you doing here?" Kayo asked as she shifted the slime into one arm to pet the winged horse.
"King Dwargo insisted we bring her. Thought you would like to join the battle since this is your home, Princes Inari." An elven woman in ninja like attire voiced as she appeared from behind the Pegasus knight captain.
"Wow, you're on time for once sensei." Kayo teased the elven woman, the slime looked at her in shock as she slipped off the back of the Pegasus. Soon serval more ninja like women appeared before them. "Ah... Kayo, are these the other resources you were talking about?" Rimuru asked as he blushed as he noticed the women all seemed to be elves, with their clothes showing off their bodies very nicely.
"We are a fraction of Dwargon's Anbu, I would appreciate this being kept secret Lord Rimuru." the woman asked and gave the slime a flirty wink. "O-of course! B-but why did you get sent here?" he asked and was confused as the woman pulled out a pink box and a small black book. "I wanted to deliver this to my dear student. A book of contraceptive spells, herbs, and condoms as you requested princess~." the woman mussed as Kayo swiped them from her with her tails quickly.
"WHAT!?" the slime asked as he looked at a blushing Kayo.
"What? I'm being safe. It's only natural that I have some fun time with the ones I like." the kitsune voiced, pouting a little before the barrier over Rimuru city went up and nearly disappeared from site. "Is that the barrier? Is it really going to hold with that Magic jammer ability?" the slime asked, a bit impressed as he was glad for the change of subject.
"Yes, kitsune magic is a bit different and the barrier uses the tree's root systems under the city to give it a sort of natural protection already. The Kitsune elders are also heling to keep it up so I can handle the missing foxes if and when they show up." the kitsune told him sounding worried as around her neck she had a necklace of the fallen kitsunes pearls at the ready in case they had also come under the service of Charybdis.
"Right, I think we have a good chance. It would be nice if Milim could just take care of it for-AGH!" the slime was saying before kayo started to stretch him out. "I told you, that would be too easy and what they want to happen. It's a trap somehow. I can feel it." the kitsune explained but sniffing the air she was confused. 'Why can't I smell the danger? It's right there, is it too high in the sky?' Kayo questioned as she could spot the Veldora spawn and its summons flying high in the air, headed right for them.
"It just smells like a summer rain." Kayo muttered as she held the slime who didn't understand what she was saying for a moment.
"Well, are you ready?" Rimuru asked as Kayo faced their assembled forces, Benimaru and the other battle ready Kijin, a few goblins supporting the goblin riders as well as more tempest wolves. The High Orcs partnered with the remaining kitsune, Gabiru with his men and the Darko lead by Kayo's bother Bruno. The Pegasus Knights with the elven female ninja. Then there were some goblins and kitsune who were staying back, holding black sling bags with a red plus on it to indicate that they were the field medics, led by Kayo's sister Estella.
"Ready, as I'll ever be~." Kayo playfully sang as everyone else shouted in unison.
"YES, SIR!"
~Battle~
"That's your, Benimaru. He toasted that thing to a crip." Rimuru teased as Kayo was monitoring the battle field, or trying to without the use of some of her external skills. "That would be impressive, but with magic jammer on the field, his attacks are greatly weakened, too dependent on magicules." Kayo reasoned worriedly as they watched the megalodon fall into the thick of trees from the sky.
"Our best bet is to get rid of the megalodons, separating and attacking each individually. Then we can deal with the boss, somehow." Kayo reasoned as she was still looking around for hidden signs of her missing foxes.
Seeing Geld and her foxes help take down one of the flying monsters with the help of Gabiru from the sky. "That is impressive. His aim is good or he's just lucky at least." Kayo commented. Before seeing the Drako lead by her transformed brother take another two right out of the sky.
"4 down, 9 to go." she voiced before she noticed the slime was no longer in her hands, having gone into his human from as Kayo's hands hand been sparking. "Are you sure you don't want to join in? You got a Pegasus." the slime mentioned with a pout as the winged horse was still at Kayo's side only startled when Milim appeared suddenly and tugged on the slime's sleeve.
"Hey, I wanna play, too!" The pink haired demon lord asked the slime as Kayo pet the winged horse to calm it and offer it an apple from her tails. "What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to wait back in town?" Rimuru questioned as the little demon lord looked sad. "B-but I can watch at least, can't I? Staying in town is boring!" she reasoned and took a look at the massive monsters flying in the sky.
'Mi-'
Kayo's ears perked up as she heard something strange, swiveling her ears around to try and find the source, not hearing it again until she tilted her head up and could hear something... but also feel something threw her bare feet, a low tremor... that was slowly getting stronger the more megalodons that were taken down. The kitsune's attention was no longer in the sky, but on the ground, using the demon's eye to see what she couldn't normally.
"Anything goes for the dreamboat, huh? Kayo? What are you doing?" The slime questioned the kitsune, having just watched Souei make a puppet out of one of the Megalodons only to notice Kayo take a few steps forward and place a hand on the ground in front of them, distracted by something in the ground. The kitsune's ears and tails then shot straight up as her fur bristled.
"Let me, too! Let me, too!" Milim begged the slime, egger to get in on the fight, only distracting the slime from a sudden warning. "I told you it's not-" he was saying before he felt one of Kayo's tails wrap around him, Milim, Benimaru and Shuna who had all be close to her. Suddenly pulled backwards as the ground where they once stood had erupted and spewed out what looked like fire... but also... 3 odd looking patch work kitsunes.
"What the?! Are those!?" Rimuru cried out in shock, his golden eyes wide as he looked at what had once been 5 kitsune stitched into 3.
'MY KITSUNES.' Kayo growled dangerously, having taken on her beast form before setting the 4 down safely on the ground. Then running at the 3 monstrosities, the fight becoming a whirl wind of colors and black fur as Kayo took the 3 on by herself, growing to a massive size no one had seen her obtain before.
"Ohh~ sisy got really big!" Milim admired with stars in her eyes as she watched the Void kitsune rip the tails off the dead kitsune only for them to strangely reattach and they tried to bite at Kayo's tails only to bit at her legs and snap at her neck. The large black kitsune let out loud yelps and growls as it kept fighting.
"Kayo!" Benimaru called out to her worriedly, hand on his sword before Rimuru stopped him. "No! Kayo wants to do this on her own. You would only get in her way." the slime told the kijin who grit his teeth as he helplessly watched the foxes fight and then Kayo turned into her humanoid form to pull out two magisteal swords. She slipped past the foxes' jaws and sliced off their tails, only after cutting threw them the swords shattered!
"What!? Did her swords just break!? How is that possible!?" Gobta questioned, as he was watching his friend in a 3 on 1 fight. Hakuro also watching, concerned for his little fox student as he saw how the swords she used had broken. The kitsune pulling out another pair from her tails to try and cut the tails off, managing to take ALL the tails off one of the kitsune monsters but even then, the other two went after her as she cursed, noticing what she had to do to stop them.
"Lord Kayo!" Hakuro shouted as he pulled out the sword Kayo had to give him after their little spar, having ended in a draw... so he had to give her the book but she had to give up her master sword, as dictated by the rules of the draw.
The kitsune grinned widely as she seemed to turn into a shadow and make her way over to the sword master, and grabbed the sheath sword from the white Kijin. "Show me what you can do, my star student." Hakuro spoke to her as Kayo changed her form again, that into a kijin as she took a low wide stance, facing the kitsunes.
"Lord Veldora, please lend me your strength." Kayo muttered under her breath, her breathing changed slightly and black sparks were coming off the transformed kijin even as the last two kitsune monsters came at her. Hakuro and the goblin riders getting out of her way as she unsheathes the sword... and within a loud boom of thunder she had cut off all the tails off of the 2 reaming kitsune monsters before anyone could even blink and then the orbs around her neck lit up and the bodies of the foxes faded like illusions.
"I-is that it? Did Kayo just... use thunder breathing?" Rimuru asked, shocked as he kind of recognized the attack she used was from a certain demon slaying anime.
"Where did she learn that? From The Dwarf King?" Benimaru asked as he had his eyes on the panting 'kijin' before he noticed her coughing up blood. Quickly he was at her side holding her close as the blood slipped between her fingers, the woman struggling to breath. "Now do you need one of my healing potions?" Rimuru asked, smirking little as he held a blob of his healing potion, the Kayo glaring at him and coughing up more blood as she tried to breathe.
Warning! Subject has a deflated lung. Imitate action is required.
As soon as great sage told him that, the slime just hit the injured woman with the healing potion. Kayo coughing as her lung was healed but she was breathing easier, the pearls around her neck having turned a glowing blue.
"Thanks, slime ball." Kayo huffed as she gently touched the glowing pearls, gritting her teeth to hold back tears as the mangled bodies turned to ash by blue fox fire, freeing the kitsune's souls. "You can rest now. It didn't look easy having to kill some of your own. Leave Charybdis to us." Rimuru told her as the woman shifted back into her kitsune form, now glaring up at Charybdis, as it almost seemed to be watching her, making the kitsune uneasy even as she gave the air another sniff.
"Sweat?" the kitsune questioned in her confusion as all of the gathered forces put their all into fighting the big boss.
"It looks like they're not even leaving a mark on it." The slime voiced as he was watching their forces try and damage the storm dragon spawn. "True, but what more can we do against a spawn of the storm dragon?" Benimaru asked as he helped Kayo stand up, the kitsune gently squeezing his hand as they could only watch, before the winged horse approached Kayo, flapping its wings.
'Kayo? Any ideas?' Rimuru asked the kitsune after great sage had gone quiet on him. 'The easy answer would be Milim, but this feels to much like a trap to let her take care of this. Not to mention... its smells oddly of sweat. Most enemies smell absolutely fowl but this one... I don't know if it really is after Lord Veldora inside you.' Kayo reasoned, her golden eyes were locked onto Charybdis, feeling the mindless monster staring back at her for some odd reason.
'Mas... Zor...'
Kayo heard again as her golden eyes narrowed with suspicion. 'Are you hearing a strange voice to? It sounds like it's coming from Charybdis?' the kitsune asked but Rimuru was confused as he looked up at his fox sibling's ears that were picking up noises he couldn't hear.
'A voice?' he questioned before they all heard and odd noise rippling through the air.
"It's... sheading!?" Kayo noticed as she looked up at the creature and at the retreating Pegasus knight but what caught her attention was the 3 specks falling off the monster's back. "Souei!" Kayo called out in a cold panic, before Gazle's steed came up to her, and allowed the kitsune to jump on its back like it was natural. Taking to the air swiftly to safely grab the ninja kijin who was shocked, grateful for the aid as he but blush as she pulls him into her lap and held him in her arms like a princess until they landed safely on the ground.
"Oh~ Princess Souei finally joins us?" Shion mocked the ninja before the shredded scales came at her and Ranga.
"Kayo, stay back!" Souei told the kitsune as the Pegasus started to panic with all the scales swirling around them... but none where coming close to the kitsune or the winged horse. Most of the flying scales seemed to only attacking the two kijins and Ranga.
"It's... not attacking me?" Kayo questioned as she slowly slipped off Ivory and bit her lip. Worried as she saw how her comrads where getting pelted by the hard blue scales mercilessly. "Shion! Ranga! Souei! Come here! NOW!" she ordered sternly as the 3 did as she asked. Coming close to their kitsune master and surprisingly into the soft black fur of her tails. Kayo having turned into her large kitsune form again, glaring up at Charybdis and the scales it seems to be able to control... just swirling around her and those she was protecting with her tails.
"It's not attacking Kayo!?" Shuna noticed, just as shocked as her brother and Rimuru who suspected something but Great Sage didn't have enough data to answer the slime. What was it was about the kitsune that Charybdis seemed to avoid attacking her.
"Why? Why is it not attacking us anymore? Ahh~ but Lady Kayo's tails~ they feel so good~." Shion asked, moaning happily letting herself sink into the soft warm fur of the kitsune, feeling so nice after being struck very hard in the stomach and face. Ranga happily taking in Kayo's scent and rubbing his body all over her tail while the winged horse had disappeared somewhere within the black fur. Souei being the only one trying to get out of the vast fluffiness, his struggle only made him sink deeper into the fluff of his lover's tails that surrounded him.
"Good Job, Kayo! I will handle these. Just take care of them and fall back for now." Rimuru appeared before them, a pair of blue bat like wings on his back. He looked at Kayo, noting she wasn't letting the 3 get up from her protection. The Kitsune was quiet for a bit before she gave a nod to the slime, who smiled and turned to the flurry of scales holding an arm out as she took them away a safer distance.
"Devour all! Gluttony!" Rimuru yelled as in a swirl of dark blue the slime devoured all of Charybdis's scales.
"Kayo, we can still help Lord Rimuru!" Souei called out to the fox as he was able to get on his feet once Kayo set them down and turned into her humanoid form. "Not right now. Charybdis is already regenerating its scales as we speak. Let Rimuru have a go at it for now, once your healed up a little you can rejoin the battle at Benimaru's command. Taking down this thing is going to take both timing and all we got." the Kitsune reasoned as some goblins came to treat the injured, Kayo took this time to sit on the ground with a heavy sigh.
The Kitsune's hands were trembling a little as the realization that she had re killed 5 of her foxes was starting to sink in, never mind that their power was now dormant within their pearls. 'Should I put them away? It's dangerous to keep them around my neck.' Kayo was thinking as she pulled the necklace off and gently cradled them in her left palm. 'Should I give them to the elders? Or just...' she was pondering before a cold wet nose poked her cheek.
"Master Kayo? Do you want to pet me?" Ranga asked as he stood beside her, looking worried as he nugged the kitsune gently. The tempest wolf excited when the kitsune started to pet his head and ears, so he lay beside her, letting her stress pet him all she needed.
"Kayo... are you okay?" Shuna asked as she came over to the fox woman, looking worried after what she had witnessed.
"I'm fine, Shuna. Are you okay? I wasn't expecting them to come from underground." Kayo inquired as Shuna came to sit next to her, still looking worried for the woman. "I was startled, but you pulled us all away before it got to the surface, even Lord Rimuru and Demon Lord Milim." the princess gave a soft smile. "You care about us a lot, let us take care of you too Kayo. I can feel your hurting... it must have been awful to fight your friends." the young kijin voiced sagely and gently placed a hand on Kayo's arm, the one that was gently cradling the fox pearls.
Kayo was silent as she just looked at the orbs, everyone else was busy even Benimaru who wanted to approach her but felt it better he keeps watch on the battle, his sister could help the kitsune better then he could. The fox took a deep breath and slowly let it out, repeating it a few times and still petting Ranga who was a relaxed mess from her petting, despite the battle still going on.
"Oh~! Are you going to eat those Sisy?" Milim asked as she appeared in front of the kitsune who quickly closed her hand around the pretty pearls protectively. "No. I don't need their power. I'm going to return them to the elders and let the others grieve for their comrads properly." Kayo told the demon lord firmly as the girl stared at her, almost like she was remembering something.
"They were more than just Pawns or foxes. They were alive, I named them... I trained them... I fed them...I healed them... I worked with them... I knew them." Kayo growled lowly through clenched teeth as she remembered the little time she had spent with these foxes. "They were friends, family. Someone took their lives and turned them into puppets. Kyoya. Ginger. Rocky. Otto. Ash." Kayo grits her teeth as she called their names, the pearls glowing brighter when she called them... the demon eye turning black and allowing the woman to see more than what most could... the souls of the dead kitsune.
Their souls staring at Kayo as she tried to keep herself in check.
"It is not your fault, Lord Kayo." Treyni appaired behind them, looking solemn while speaking to the kitsune. "Your people did as you asked. The fault is with me, I underestimated the strength and abilities of those majin. If anyone is to blame for their deaths, it is me." the dryad voiced, kneeling on the grass and bowing her head in shame. "Sister!" Trya called to her sister worriedly, the other Dryads having joined the Tempest forces, looking a bit worse for wear themselves. Thankfully the medic team was a big help with keeping everyone alive.
"I don't blame you, Treyni. They knew of the danger, but were just looking in the wrong direction. Just what do those danm Majins want with us?" Kayo asked as she was confused about the motives behind this attack, glaring up at Charybdis who seemed to be locked onto the flying slime and started shooting a Lazer from its large eye, scaring the landscape as Rimuru dogged.
'We can't keep doing this. Our potion supply wasn't large enough before, even with the extra Rimuru provided.' Kayo was thinking, seeing how many of their forces had gotten inured from the megalodons or trying to avoid Charybdis' attacks.
'I could be of some use.' She heard a familiar voice in her head suddenly.
'What can you do, demon?' Kayo questioned, looking down at the 'ribbon' that held the end of her braided hair together. 'I can give you an ability that would help you to cut this little fish out of the sky.' The black demon offered, but the kitsune was very weary of it. 'And what do you get out of this? I'm not letting you out or take my body.' she told the demon who gave an amused chuckle. 'I merely wish to be of use to your bother, same as you. You're already done with those foxes, yet still have so much stamina~. The only thing you lack is wings... I can help you soar higher than those weak little fairy wings you love so much~.' The demon mussed, having seen the kitsune's secret habit, transforming into a cute little fairy while she thought no one was looking, forgetting the demon could still see threw his lost eye.
'What do you want?' Kayo asked, not tempted by the demon's offer, but she was sure he was going to ask her for something or lay out a trap for her to fall into for later.
'No more ponies.' the demon's voiced, deathly seriously as the kitsune bust out laughing suddenly.
"Kayo? Are you okay?" Shuna asked worriedly, having sat by the kitsune's side as she seemed to be deep in thought. Ranga whining worriedly as he looked at the woman as she tried to cover her mouth and muffle her laughter.
"I-I'm fine. Sorry to scare you." Kayo snickered as she mentally repeated what the demon had asked for in exchange for wings. 'Seriously? No more ponies? Nice try, but I'll pass on the offer.' the kitsune mussed, while in her mind space Jester was ginning manically, setting up a screen to play more of what the demon had been forced to watch while inside his prison.
-My little pony, my little pony, ah ah ah ah ah~-
Kayo flopped on the ground, muffling her laughter as the demon was begging for it to stop. A few more of the Tempest forces looked at the kitsune with concern, even Benimaru and Souei but they didn't approach her as she seemed to be giving off a weird aura that Shuna and Ranga mostly ignored. Milim having taken this time to take a nap on the distracted kitsune's tails, more board then tired.
"Sis? Are you okay? Should I take those back to the elders?" Estella asked her sister worriedly, carefully coming over, her golden eyes full of concern for her sibling. "No... I'll take care of them later. How are the medics holding up?" Kayo asked her and the 3 tailed fox looked nervous.
"Fine, but we can't keep doing this. Even with the dryads helping us. Not to mention that thing is destroying a lot of the landscape. If only it could fly a little lower or we could become dragon newts like Bruno." she mentioned and then Kayo slapped her face at the obvious solution to her problem.
"That's it! I need a dragonnewt with enough magicules." the kitsune said out loud just as her ears perking up as she heard Benimaru give the order.
"Everyone, utilize all methods at your disposal to attack Charybdis! Even if the effects are weak! Don't give it time to recover!" Benimaru commanded as their forces, turning his back on Kayo for a moment before the kitsune let out the precious winged horse out of her void space only to jump onto it's back and take off into the sky.
"Ah! Kayo!" Benimaru called out in shock, not having intended for Kayo to join the fray as he felt a cold chill come over him, seeing her get farther and farther away from him. Only for their forces to see it as new hope, giving it their all, as the kitsune was trying to get close to the massive monster or rather the right dragonnewt.
"Come on girl, just a little more." Kayo encouraged the war horse but then came more of those scales, the kitsune narrowing her eyes as she pushed Ivory to keep going... and the scales all avoided her and the few that had followed close behind her.
"Sis! What is going on here? Did you have a thing with this... thing!?" Bruno asked his sister, confused as to why the scales didn't touch his sister nor them. "No! I have standards! I need to get closer." Kayo told him before her brother flew ahead of them, only to get struck hard by a scale.
"BRUNO!" Kayo cried out worriedly as he grabbed her brother who had been knocked out.
"Take him down, Ivory." the kitsune commanded the winged horse only for her to jump off Ivory and into the furry of hard scales moving around them fast. On her way down a few did hit her but... she barely felt anything before she landed on the back of another winged horse, her hand on the shoulder of a surprised Captain Dorf.
"L-lord Kayo?!" He questioned, surprised the kitsune was unhurt after diving into the thick of Charybdis attack.
"Can you get me higher Captain?" she asked him as she noticed Ivory take her brother to the medics. "Higher? Are you crazy?" he asked the fox but noticed that the scales where not attacking him or his men close to her. "Like a fox~. I've got your backs so don't worry." She teased the captain, smirking as he looked back at her and sighed.
"Men! Forward!" He commanded and the Pegasus knights flew right above Charybdis without being struck by a single scale while near the kitsune. "Thanks, I'll handle the scales." Kayo told the captain before jumping off. Making the captain and his knights feel a cold chill as she left them... only she turns into her largest kitsune form and swept the scales into the void of her tails.
All on the battle field stared in aww as they saw a massive black 6 tailed fox pounce on the colossal Charybdis, there was a solid boom as the kitsune's paws came down hard on the storm dragons spawn, making it lose a bit of altitude from her sudden weight alone.
"Whoa! She's HUGE!" Rimuru was amazed before he heard Kayo start to curse and snarl as she touched the massive monster, great sage not even translating it before the fox spoke to the slime.
'It's the stupid cat Carrion sent! He's still sour Milim beat his sorry ass! Charybdis is using him as it's physical body.' The pissed kitsune told him as the slime was a bit dumb founded and mentally exhausted before he called for the pink haired demon lord to take care of it, with some restraint.
"All forces! Pull back!" Kayo barked as she jumped off Charybdis and turned into her smallest fox form and wrapped around Rimuru's shoulders like a cute fluffy scarf. The slime looked at her in amazement, finding her extremally light draped over his shoulders. He smiled at her before petting her small head, then pulling back to let the Demon Lord handle her opponent.
'Agh, I should give Carrion a piece of my mind. Sending this meat head, he walked right into a trap and knew it!' Kayo complained as she and her slime brother watched as Milim used one attack to completely eliminate the large monstrosity they had been fighting for the better part of the day.
'Where the hell is the restraint in that attack?' The slime questioned, dreading having to deal with Charybdis again and Demon Lord Carrion if Milim had killed his subordinate, only to feel a soft warm paw poke his cheek.
'There! The idiot is still alive!' Kayo pointed out as Rimuru flew over and caught the charred and smoking body of the beastman.
'That was some nice restraint.' The slime praised Milim who gave him a smile and a victory sign.
'Now for the hard part. Separating Charybdis from this idiot, I don't think we can get away with just imprison him with it still attached.' Kayo reasoned as she scanned the black leopard's body before Rimuru landed carefully on the ground.
"Okay but how do we do that?" Rimuru asked as Kayo slipped off his shoulders and took her humanoid form... only she was in some black scrubs. "Surgery." was all the fox told him and the slime looked at her wide eyed for a moment as great sage answered him.
'The success rate of surgery performed by Kayo Tempest is at 87%. Notice: Kayo Tempest will also obtain Master Surgen after a 10,000th successful surgery.'
"Do it." the slime held out the weakened beast men to his sister who surprised him as she was using the pearls of the deceased foxes. "Serve me... one last time." Kayo muttered as she felt the sprits around her and helped her prep before she attempted to separate the Charybdis core from the beastmen, and still keep him alive.
