I Got Reincarnated! - Kitsune Chronicles
~Chapter 20~ Making Champions & Connections
"Mew?" The cute green-eyed kitten called to the kitsune as she was in the kitchen, carefully pouring some batter onto the hot rectangular grill she was managing the temperature of carefully, so that the cakes cooked to a nice golden brown. "Can you wake them up for me?" Kayo mussed cheerfully, having slipped on a tight black shirt with no sleeves but with a high collar hid the love bites the two kijins had left there. Not to mention the other places they had left their marks on her, making her wear some slightly baggy pants that went down to her ankles, her ribbon now holding up her hair into a neat bun.
"Mew!" The kitten agreed and ran off to wake the two sleeping Kijin, Benimaru sleeping on his back with Souei cuddled up on top of him, snoring as he was deep asleep after his two mates took care of his stress, making for an adorable site before the kitten woke them up rather rudely.
"Kayo!" Both shouted in shocked panic as they realized the kitsune was missing. Kayo letting out a little chuckle before she glanced over at the two naked and worried Kijin. "Good morning~. Why don't you two wash up and get dressed? Breakfast is almost done." She mussed, and couldn't help but admire their naked bodies for a moment. Both decorated with her claw and teeth marks, Souei blessed with Benimaru's bite marks all over his body as well.
'I love my cute Bi boys~.' She thought happily as the two relaxed at seeing her still around.
"How are you not tired?" Benimaru asked, blushing as his heart pounded hard in his chest, watching Kayo in the kitchen, cooking up something that smelled so wonderful. It almost felt like a dream as the kitsune smiled up to that cute mark under her eye and showed off those cute dimples in her cheeks. "I was well rested thanks to you two. I feel worlds better." she told them, remembering what they had done last night, smiling even brighter, she was almost shining.
"No more biting." Souei complained as he felt all the bite marks left on his body before went to wash up, a bit annoyed with his two mates. Benimaru and Kayo both chucking at his annoyance before the red Kijin joined him in cleaning up for breakfast. Souei's clothes concealed the bite marks well enough but Benimaru had to borrow a black shirt from Souei to hide the marks left by Kayo on his neck.
Once dressed the two where in time to have a short stack of the hot cakes set before them, topped with strawberries and blueberries with some strange white cream on top. An omelet for each of them stuffed with some fried rice and vegetables with fresh squeezed orange juice to help wash it down. The two thanked her for the food before trying it... and felt all the warmth and care the kitsune had for them in the warm fluffy cakes.
Kayo was relived they seemed to like them before she started eating her own, noting to make them for the slime later as she was not yet done making the maple syrup that usually goes with it. Of course, the kitten mewed for his own breakfast that was served to him by Kayo's ribbon, it hissed at the strange accessory before gluttonously eating the food set out for it.
~Training Grounds~
"How can... anyone... do this?" Youm asked as he and his men, along with the goblin riders lay on the ground, panting from pain and exhaustion after training with Hakuro for just a little over and hour. "You are merely not trying hard enough; I am just a single old man against so many of you youngsters." Hakuro pointed out, frowning in disappointment with not only the goblins but also the humans he and Kayo where to make into champions.
"How about taking a tea break, Master Hakuro?" Kayo asked as she seemed to suddenly appear on the training grounds, smiling and holding up a bottle and cup of tea. The White Kijin's frown lifted as he saw the kitsune woman, giving her a nod. "Yes, that sounds lovely my dear star student." He praised her as the ones on the ground groaned.
"This demon is your star student?" Youm asked as he managed to sit up and look at Kayo, now with all her tails out and her clothes hugging her plump but curvy body. She looked hot of course since she was a Kitsune, but something seemed odd about the woman at the moment and made the human uneasy.
"Yes. She's only one of two of my students who have fought me into a draw." Hakuro mentioned proudly as Kayo blushed, pouring some tea respectfully for the sword master as he took a seat on the bench that seem to suddenly appear under a nice tree near the training grounds. The old Swordsman taking a sip of the calming and warming liquid that was carefully prepared by the kitsune.
"WHAT!?" The humans all questioned but the goblins laughed, still laying in the dirt.
"It's true, we saw them fight. Kayo changed forms though and she didn't use her master sword either so it would be fair to Master Hakuro." A goblin explained as the humans where confused but amazed. "Yeah, it was only a draw because they knocked their swords out of each other's hands, and the old man is no good at hand-to-hand combat like our Lord Kayo!" Gobta boasted as his fellow goblins agreed before they felt the old kijin's eyes glaring at him.
"Seems you are still able to be so cocky, we can resume your training if you have the energy to be so boastful." Hakuro threated as his 'students' cowered before Kayo put a hand on the swordsman's shoulder. "Actually, Master Hakuro. May I train them for a bit? You haven't even finished your tea and I would hate for it to grow cold." The kitsune voiced outload but mentally the two were having another decision.
'Let me break these humans in for you Master Hakuro. I'm sure they will be much more agreeable to your training methods after I'm done with them.' Kayo reasoned, making the old swordsman smile and nod once at her suggestion.
"Very well. You seemed to have trained the lizardmen's Darkon effectively enough. I would like to see what methods you used on them for myself." Hakuro mussed out loud and sipped his tea peacefully, curious to see what the kitsune would do to the humans.
"KAYO~!" Everyone stopped and turned to look as a humanoid Rimuru came running and wrapped his arms around the kitsune, faced pressed into her torso just under her breasts, he was closely followed by Shion who was clearly topless save form the dark purple and black bra Kayo had gifted her. Shuna right behind her holding the older Kijin's top and blazer.
"Lord Rimuru!? Why are you running away!?" Shion asked as most of the males present stared at her with great interest before they felt the killing intent of the kitsune woman and quickly looked elsewhere. 'Help me, please!' the slime asked as he held onto the kitsune tightly, making her sigh and pet his head before she took a slow inhale.
"Shion! What the hell are you doing prancing around in just your bra!?" Kayo scolded the busty kijin who pouted as she stopped a few feet from the Tempest leaders, Shuna panting behind her as she tried to catch her breath. "I... I just wanted to show Lord Rimuru the gift you gave me and I was just-" Shion told her, pouting as her hand went to slip off her pants before Kayo shouted angerly.
"SHION! YOU ARE MY BROTHER'S SECRETARY AND BODYGUARD! THIS BEHAVIOUR IS UNBECOMING OF ONE OF YOUR STATION! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE SAW YOU RUNNING AFTER HIM IN YOUR BRA!? TAKEING OFF YOUR CLOTHES LIKE A DEPRATE HARLOT!?" The kitsune snapped at a volume no one expected and feared. Shion looking about to cry at the woman's harsh words.
"TEARS WILL NOT REPAIR THE DIGNITY OF YOUR POSITION! YOU WHERE MENT TO EASE MY BROTHER'S BURDEN AS LEADER OF THE JURA TEMPEST FEDRATION! INSTED, YOU ARE RUNNING AFTER HIM LIKE A CHEAP WHORE! BRINGING MORE PROBLEMS THAN YOU SLOVE! GET YOUR CLOTHES BACK ON! NOW!" Kayo ordered and the kijin woman nodded as she tried not to cry, taking her shirt and blazer from the worried looking Shuna.
'That was... harsh.' Rimuru mentioned to his sister but was grateful to the kitsune for playing the bad guy, not wanting to hurt Shion's feelings. 'Your just too soft, Satoru.' she scolded the slime who felt shame as his sister used his old name. Kayo sighed as she tried to think of a solution to this problem, gently taping the slime on the head.
"Shion, are you willing to become a truly great asset to my brother?" Kayo asked the woman who was still holding back her tears nodded. "More than anything, Lord Kayo! I'm sorry for bringing such shame upon my station. P-please! Let me continue to serve Lord Rimuru as his bodyguard at least!" Shion begged, knowing that in her heart, Kayo was the one who could best serve their slime leader, and could easily have his heart if the two hadn't considered each other siblings.
Rimuru running to Kayo with this issue made it clear who he trusted and relied upon most.
"As long as you are willing to learn from your mistakes you could be taught." Kayo mentioned and the tears in Shion's eyes were blinked away and replaced with hope. "You will start your secretarial training with me today, once I finish training these mutts." The kitsune told her as she threw a glance at the Humans who suddenly looked at her when she called them dogs.
Youm and a few others' daring to glare at her.
"Thanks Kayo. I owe you big time. Ah... what... would you like?" the slime asked, dreading what the fox would ask for as a reward.
"Don't get mad at what I am about to do." Kayo whispered to him as she gently pushed him to sit beside Hakuro as he was half way finished with his tea, confused he sat down as Shion was happy to be given a second chance and Shuna was just glad Shion was clothed again, the bra seeming to help the older Kijin but it also made her breasts look bigger then the kitsune's.
"Come on little doggies~. Time to make men out of you, because your far from champions as is." Kayo reasoned as the Goblins left the field at Kayo's request, all too happy to watch the humans get their ass kicked. "What? You're not gonna use a weapon? Doesn't seem very fair." Youm muttered as he managed to get back on his feet along with the others, Kayo eyeing the glasses wearing mage as he was helped up by the bald man, the kitsune only let out a small huff at Youm's words.
"I wouldn't call that clump of dust a weapon." she barbed, smirking as Gobta and the other goblins watched eagerly. Youm glared at her and pointed his sword at the woman, keeping it an inch from her face, but she didn't seem bothered my it. "It still cuts and stabs, that's all that matters." the human told her, one eye glaring at her as he saw her hand reach out... and flick the flat side of his weapon. A strange sound came from it as cracks appeared before the blade shattered like glass and then down to dust before even hit the ground. The human's eyes widen in shock and disbelief at how his once sturdy weapon... had been turned to dust with just a little flick, leaving him holding an empty hilt. The other humans also looked on in shock as well as the monsters, save for Hakruo who seemed very amused with his student's actions.
"How!? When!?" Rimuru questioned, possibly the most shocked out of all of them before great sage explained.
Analyzing: Due to the experience the subject, Kayo Tempest, has with forging weapons and crafting items, they have obtained the passive skill 'Crafter's Eye' which allows them to see in ultra-fine detail, finding the flaws or weak points in most objects.
"Wow! I guess all that time she spent helping Kijin and Kurobe in the forges has really paid off, big time!" Gobtia voiced, chucking with pride for his friend and amusement at the humans dumfound faces.
"Now~ Let's get down to business, to turn you lot, into champ~ions~." Kayo purred, trying not to sing the song she was thinking of and getting over excited. "I'll make it easy too~. I won't use any weapons, so come at me with the intent to kill." Kayo told them sweetly and with a demented smile that was kinda disturbing, holding up her gloved hands. "K-kill you!?" the mage with the glasses asked, shocked at her words and feeling like something else was going on in the kitsune's head as she nodded.
"Yes. Not like you really can any ways~... not without proper motivation of course." the fox explained. "You see, I've noticed a flaw in Master Hakuro's teaching method." she voiced, and everyone stiffened as the Sword master looked a bit taken aback. "His way of teaching is for those who are already well motivated to train well past when their hands are rough and scared." She explained, thinking of how rough Benimaru's hands where before she pointed to the goblins. "My goblin friend there is a slacker but given the right kind of motivation, he's an okay warrior." Kayo said as she pointed to Gobta who seem proud she used him as an example. "Now... what kind of motivations would get you humans to train up to the level where you could maybe, pass as Champions that defeated Geld Sr.?" Kayo asked, a strange and eerie smile stretching across her face, making the humans uneasy.
"No one? Fine. I guess I will just give you the answer then." Kayo giggled as she seemed to disappear like an illusion right before their eyes, shocking the humans. "Where did she go!?" the bald man questioned trying to find any evidence where the kitsune could have gone before Rommel, the mage with the glasses, cried out in shock. The party turned to him as they saw he was being grabbed roughly by his hair... and the kitsune was pressing a dagger against his throat!
"Hey! I thought you said you weren't going to use any weapons!?" Youm questioned, glaring at the deceiving kitsune. "I'm not~. This is just for your motivation, Avenging a fallen Comrade~." Kayo explained before the humans froze at her words and watched as the fox ran that blade across the young mage's neck, crimson coating his neck and the blade. His glasses falling to the ground before the blade made it halfway across, the red stuff dripped down and the young man's eyes rolled back in fear before the kitsune carelessly tossed him aside like trash.
Rimuru caught the young man in his shock but the slime could not believe that his sister had killed a human right in front of him!
"You! You'll pay for that! Surround her and ATTACK!" Youm commanded with new motivation, the remining party members rushed the murderous fox who was grinning with delighted glee without any remorse for what she did.
Meanwhile the slime was quick to splash the young man with a healing potion ... but the crimson didn't seem to go away. 'What the? Wait... is that!?' The slime questioned as he scooped up a bit of the crimson and put it in his mouth to confirm it, horrifying the two Kijin females with his actions. "L-lord Rimuru!?" Shion looked horrified and Shuna looked absolutely crushed upon seeing the slime taste the crimson from an innocent human's neck.
"Figured it out? Huh, Lord Rimuru?" Gobtia asked, smirking and looking confident as he knew something the slime didn't. "Yeah, he's fine. Agh, Kayo used strawberry jam as fake blood. Is this what she wanted me to forgive her about?" the slime asked as he was relieved that she hadn't really killed the human, letting out a small laugh as he remembered Kayo had years of backstage prop knowledge, making fake blood was just one of her favorite hobbies.
"Fake blood?" Shion questioned in confusion before Shuna came closer to smell the strawberries coming from the young human's neck, carefully whipping it off showed that there was no damage under the crimson stuff. Once they realized the cruel trick the Kitsune pulled, she had already finished 'training' the humans who lay on the ground again, weapons, clothes, and equipment all damaged or completely broken.
"Hmm impressive. I believe I was just not the right master to teach you, Lord Kayo." Hakuro mussed as he finished his tea, a smile on his face as he got up and walked over to the joyous kitsune who tried to calm down from her high. "Still, you taught me a lot, Master Hakuro. I'm very grateful for that." Kayo voiced and bowed in respect to the elderly instructor who chuckled. "Seems you have also surpassed me, my star student. Perhaps, it is time for me to retire?" Hakuro questioned as he looked at the turning leaves that fluttered around them.
"What!?" The goblins question in shock and the slime felt like something was off about the two.
'No way. They couldn't be in on this together.' He thought before Kayo spoke up with a soft smile.
"That is your decision alone Master Hakuro. You have worked and trained hard in your youth; you deserve to enjoy your life as you wish it while you still can. I would be happy to take on your burdensome students, so you have nothing to worry about." Kayo assured the white kijin smirked, the two gave off rather evil auras. The humans, goblins and even Rimuru felt the cold hand of death on their backs at the thought of Kayo training them in place of Hakuro... it terrified them to death for some reason.
"Wait! Master can't retire! We can still learn a lot from him, even if he is an old man!" Gobtia cried out in defense, looking horrified as he knew Kayo would not go easy on him just because they were friends. "Y-yeah! Master Hakuro is a great teacher! Sure, he's strict and cranky like he missed his nap but only because we like to goof off! We are just bad students!" Another goblin spoke up in Hakuro's defense. "We haven't been working hard enough! It is our fault, Lord Kayo. Please let us keep training under you Master Hakuro!" Gobizo voiced with passion.
Hakuro was touched and amused by the goblins begging to be his students, or rather, they were given proper motivation to keep up with their training under him now. "Oh? But you would be so much stronger, wiser, faster under Lord Kayo's tutelage. This old man would just hold you back." he mused, wanting to do this for a little longer as Kayo held back her giggles. "N-no way! If anyone is holding any one back, it's us Master Hakuro! Please! Let us be your students a little while longer!" Gobtia and the others begged and bowed to the Kijin who couldn't help but be amused. "Hmm very well then, Lord Kayo I will leave the humans training to you then." Hakuro nodded to the Kitsune who grinned evilly at the humans who were just getting up after the hard beating they received.
"A-actually... can we train under you too? We will die if this crazy demon trains us!" Youm spoke up, as he was helped up the bald man, looking over at an unharmed Rommel passed out near Rimuru. Hakuro pretended to think about it before nodding. "Very well. Lord Kayo has many burdens without having to train you dogs." the kinji mussed and looked to the kitsune leader who was smirking.
"Well now that most of your 'equipment" is destroyed it's time we start getting all of you fitted for new clothes, armor, weapons and items. Of course, this will all come out of your paychecks." Kayo teased as Rimuru filched at her words but confused the humans. "We... are getting paid!?" Youm asked, confused at this new piece of information along with his men. "Of course! We may be monsters but at least I know about fair wages. However," Kayo trailed off as she pulled out an abacus as the profiles for each of Youm's party appeared before them, startling the unaware humans with her ability.
"Factoring in the cost of your stay, even when doubled up, take up 15 of our basic guest rooms which cost 3 sliver per night and you're staying with us for a bit over a week with your breakfast, lunch, and dinner, costing 1 sliver per day, per person. Laundry and housekeeping services as well as your entry fees to the public bath costing a few coppers each." Kayo went on as the humans saw the list of things they had been given or used, grow longer. They paled, not having a clue as to what they were even being paid as the fox went on.
The slime however shivered as he heard and saw the kitsune move the colorful beads on the strange looking toy, knowing what she was doing but to anyone else. "Lord Rimuru... why is Lord Kayo playing with that child's toy?" Shion asked, confused as the slime chuckled. "Well, she's not really playing... she's using it to calculate how much these guys are costing us. Making champions isn't cheap and these guys have kinda been freeloading. Shion, do you know what we are paying them?" the slime asked the kijin who brightened as she pulled out her notebook to find that information. "Yes! Right here! We are paying them a generous wage of 14 drawrven silver coins per day!" she cheerfully answered the slime who nodded, in agreement that the wage was generous but...
"Then finally we have the cost of your new clothes, weapons, equipment, accessories, made by our master dwarven artisans and skilled Kijin blacksmith, potions, and healthcare to all factor in as well. Oh! And I can't forget the cost of your training as well. I usually change 10 gold, but I won't for this session, since I'm in a good mood. For Master Hakuro however the charge is 1 gold coin per session." Kayo told them and the men's souls escaped their bodies as they tried to calculate how much debit they were in now.
'Kayo... isn't this a bit... much?' Rimuru questioned as he saw the hope leave the men's eyes, the fox still smiling as she gave the final total. "Overall, the cost for making you champions as of right now has you guys owing us A. Lot. Of. Money~." Kayo told them with a sinister smile as she put away her toy. "In sort, your decadents and spouses, should you have any, will take on your debit. I won't add interest and we will supply you with the needed equipment and reasonable aid should you need it. We can just add it to your debit to Tempest. Once it's paid off you will be free to do as you wish with the rest, if you live long enough." Kayo chirped happily but the men looked completely defeated.
"L-lord Rimuru... are you sure she's not a demon?" Rommel questioned as he had woken up to Kayo listing all the expenses his party had accumulated, and to what the busty Kijin had told the slime about their pay that was twice as much as the average salary in Ingrassia! "Yes. She's just a crazy fox and my little sister." Rimuru explained, but he had a small smile on his face, the humans begged for Hakuro to train them instead of the kitsune. The old Kijin seeming to enjoy their begging and being needed, even if he was seen as the lesser of two evils.
"Very well then. You can continue training under Master Hakuro, however..." Kayo tailed off and smiled at the old swordsmen who suddenly stiffened. "All of you need a wellness check before there is any more training. Including you Master Hakuro~." She told them and even the elder seemed to pale at the mention of it.
"Wellness check? What for?" Youm asked, confused as to why they were going to be inspected now.
"To check for any problems any of you may have, fix them or deal with them. It will give us a better clue to your strengths and weakness. It's very impotent as the human body tends to start breaking down in your 30's, unless you keep up with a strict training routine." Kayo told Youm who blinked in confusion before looking a little depressed.
"I'm 19." he told the fox who blinked in surprise, but Rimuru also looked at him in shock.
"WHAT!?" Both Tempest leaders questioned in shock, Kayo quickly checked the young man over. Looking at his teeth, neck, chest and even his hips and legs, much to his distress as he was being inspected like a doll, the kitsune even lifted him off of the ground easily with one hand.
"Holy shit! He's telling the truth! His bone growth is consistent with that of a human in their early 20's!" The fox told the slime who was shocked and horrified that Youm looked so old while being so young. "Can... can you put me down now?" Youm asked, nervous as the kitsune held him in the air, his arms and legs dangling helplessly before Kayo gently put him down and started messing with his hair like a worried mother, her hands oddly soft and warm for having been Hakuro's star student.
"First thing you need is a proper haircut and I know just the goblins~." Kayo told him with a confident smirk that made the human nervous as she loomed over him like a deadly predator, even if she was shorter than the human, the kitsune was far stronger then Youm who just let her drag him off.
~Rimuru City, Midori Salon & Grooming~
At the main street salon, many monsters where waiting for their hair, fur or even feathers to be groomed by the goblin stylists, trained by Kayo to take care of the grooming and styling for most of Tempest people as well as the foxes and Tempest wolves. Ranga was happily munching on his peanut butter treat for being a good boy during his grooming, his coat looking soft and glossy, the horn on his head looking a little silly with a small blue ball at the tip to prevent poking. It was only the wolf's keen senses that alerted the salon to some V.I.P.s about to arrive.
"MASTERS~!" The wolf called out happily, abandoning his treat as the doors opened and in walked Rimuru and Kayo. Evey goblin quickly stopped what they were doing and stood up to bow to their leaders at they came through the door.
"WELCOME, LORD KAYO! WELCOME, LORD RIMURU!"
Kayo chuckled as she was welcomed, but it stunned the slime to see the inside of the salon for the first time. A decent sized waiting room was filled with different monsters chatting and waiting to get their hair groomed or styled. A few small steps lead down to the where all the hair cutting and grooming area, serval chairs for the goblin stylists to work at and another area where the 4-legged customers got washed and groomed. The whole place was decorated in black and blue with some gold accents and wouldn't look out of place at a high-end street. The slime was impressed before saw the pretty goblin receptionist who smiled at them, her hair neatly done and colored a beautiful slivery blue with a low side pony tail tied with a cute white flower.
"Hey Daisy. Sorry for the sudden visit but are Tsubaki or Momo in today?" The kitsune asked, and Rimuru could see how the goblina's eyes lit up when her name was used. "Yes, Miss Tsubaki is here and we just finished with Mr. Ranga too." she informed the kitsune was it was obvious the large tempest wolf was there and ready to be let out of the pen, even if he could jump over it or just bust threw it, he had to set an example for the little pups that were watching him be a good boy. That and Kayo would punish him if he did not respect the gate again.
"Thanks for the help. I know he can be a big baby when it comes to grooming day. Now I need Tsubaki to do something with this mutt." Kayo explained as she pulled a stunned Youm up to the beautiful goblina. "Oh? Are you sure Ume wouldn't be better? She knows how to handle our older clients." Daisy asked and Youm felt insulted.
"I'm 19!" he yelled in frustration as everyone was quiet and looked at him before a booming voice filled the quiet salon. "Get him over here!" Yelled a large goblina dressed like a punk with her hair styled into a mohawk that was dyed a bright magenta, several sliver piercings on her ears. As her magenta eyes locked onto the Human who looked up at her in shock, and at her big beefy arms before Kayo pushed him Infront of this monstruous goblina.
"He's all yours. I'll pay for his cut but make him look more like a young adventurer, no dyes and get rid of that soul patch he's got there." Kayo instructed as the goblina nodded and made the human come sit in her chair, the man surprised that such a large monster was so gentle as she did his hair, shaved his face, the final result had him looking a lot younger and... more handsome?
Rimuru meanwhile walked up to an excited Ranga with amusement.
"Are you all fluffy and clean now?" the slime asked before the wolf licked him happily from over the gate that kept him contained. "Yes, master! May I please come out now? Master Kayo says I need to set an example for the little ones." the wolf explained with a small whine as Rimuru was confused. "Little ones?" he asked and came closer and looked over the gate and behind the massive Ranga to see several puffy things scurrying around and playing with some toys. "Oh My, are those-" Shuna asked as she watched the little puff balls run around after each other.
"Puppies!" Shion gushed as she seemed to startle the pups who ran and tried to hide, but just looked adorable with their little butts sticking out.
"Can we go in?" Rimuru asked Kayo, who had come over and opened the gate for them. "Sure. They just need to be returned to their mother once she's finished with her grooming." the kitsune pointed to the dark blue tempest wolf getting shampooed by a hobgoblin. The slime and the two kijin females happily entered along with Kayo who gave a soft whistle, that brought out the scared pups as they ran over to greet her with fluffy wagging tails.
"Wow, was Ranga ever this small?" the slime asked in amusement, one pup came over to sniff him before he hopped into the slime's lap for pets, which Rimuru happily gave it. "So soft~." he cooed in excitement as Kayo offered pups to Shuna and Shion carefully.
"Now Shion, be careful with these little ones, they are wiggly but fragile. Cradle them, don't grab them." Kayo instructed the woman who was about to grab a puppy with her hands and bring him to her lap before the kitsune told her. "Huh?" she questioned before Kayo showed her how to scoop up a pup by his belly and gently cradle it in her lap. "Try and copy what I just did, don't worry if they don't corporate and don't rush." She informed the woman who pouted but tried to copy the move the kitsune woman did but the pups always ran away from her.
"M-master! I'm cute and fluffy too!" Ranga whined as he took on the smallest form he could manage, whining softly as he also wanted pets but he was still a rather big, just a little smaller then Rimuru himself in his humanoid form. What amused the slime more was the ball stuck on his companion's horn. "Yeah, you are, Ranga. You smell nice too, like peanut butter." The slime mussed as he could smell the nuts in the wolf's breath as he licked his face, as well as a clean smell that came with the soap used to clean the wolves' coats, making them smell more like the Jura Forest so it was easy for them to hunt and ambush enemies.
Shion pouted as she couldn't get one pup to come into her hands, almost chasing the 3 pups that evaded her, thinking they were playing a game with her. Kayo watched calmly as she pets a little pup what was a bit different from the others, its coat was the same dark blue as the other pups but a strange white crescent moon shaped pattern on this pup's shoulder.
'This one is special... I can feel it... but why?' Kayo questioned as the pup yawned cutely in her lap.
~Later, Kitsune Village Entrance~
"This is the Kitsune Village?" Rimuru asked, confused and a bit embarrassed as they had walked for a while along a strange hidden path leading out of Rimuru City. Having passed through a large red Torii gate with a sign that had Kayo's name engraved in gold above it, but beyond the gate was just a large smooth rock that looked like Rimuru's slime form, a black and blue striped rope tired around it.
"Kind of, this is just the source of the concealment we put over the village for safety reasons." Kayo explained and pointed to the Rimuru rock. "Why does it look like me?" the slime asked and Kayo blushed, giving her public reason as she looked away. "Because who in Tempest would deface your image?" she asked but the slime could tell she was avoiding the question. Kayo placed a hand on it and muttered something he couldn't understand or hear clearly.
Shion and Shuna with them as they were curious about the fox village as they watched the Rimuru rock glow form the eyes before Kayo removed her hand from it. "The Kitsune leaders will be here soon, I need them to help take down the concealment. I think it's about time we officially became part of Tempest." Kayo voice but had a frown on her face before two familiar Dryads appeared.
"Lord Kayo! It is fortunate to have finally found you!" Treyni and her younger sister Trya appeared, the younger Dryad not looking to happy as she stared at the ground and remined quiet.
"What do you need Treyni?" Kayo asked her, looking confused as the Dryad looked a bit too excited as she wiggled her hips and giggled. "Well, with us no longer needing to watch over Charybdis' seal anymore, I thought it would be nice to be closer to the leaders of Tempest. Your Village seems very nice and you already have some strong healthy Treants living with you. So, why not let us live among you as well?" Treyni asked, smiling brightly and looking hopefully at Kayo who blinked in confusion.
"Um... well I would have to bring it up to the other leaders of the village. We already have some small intruders that they are split on letting stay." Kayo mentioned and Rimuru and the two Kijin females looked confused. "Small invaders?" The slime asked, just as a small green orb of light fluttered past him, both Treyni and Trya gasped as they saw it, Kayo holding out her hand for the green light to land, and reveal that it was a small blond fairy in a cute green dress.
"Is that... A fairy!?" Shuna asked shocked to see one right in front of her.
"Yes, this is Bell. She and her friends have invaded my village and home, where they are little messengers and light housekeepers within the kitsune village, as well as extra pair of eyes and ears for security. They get our protection, a home and food in return." Kayo explained but the fay giggled. "Lord Kayo the village does have a name. Why not use it?" the little fairy asked, a mischievous smirk on her small lips. "Because we are not naming the village after me." Kayo examined, sounding a bit annoyed.
"Kayo Village? Is that why your name was on the gate then?" Rimuru questioned, amused that Tempest's 2nd official village was named after his sister, Kayo however was not as amused. "I had no part in naming it that." the kitsune voiced before Treyni spoke up, grabbing Kayo's free hand, looking determined.
"Please, Lord Kayo. It is only fitting that the Guardian of the Great Jura Forest be honored with a village named after them. There is no need for you to be so humble. You are soon to be the true Kitsune Lord once your father finally dies." The dryad explained, but at the mention of Kayo's father the woman seemed to be suppressing some malice towards the male Void fox. Kayo looked unsure as Orion and Icarus appeared, the young star fox hiding behind his grandfather who smiled in the direction of their visitors.
"That time may come sooner than you think, Miss Treyni." the blind fox mussed as the Dryad was a bit taken aback but smiled at the old fox. "Greetings oh wise fox seer, I don't suppose you happened to see the Dryads Living within Kayo Village with the Kitsune and Fay, would you?" She asked excitedly, having heard of the old fox and his spot-on predictions. The old Fox stoked his beard for a moment before he told her.
"I forsee... you and your sister on your knees, bowing low before Lord Kayo. Spilling your hearts deepest desires out." He told them and it was quiet for a moment before Treyni quickly got on her knees before Kayo who was startled at the sudden action, Trya who looked unconfutable with it, arms wrapped around herself as she didn't bow. "Please Lord Kayo! Let me live in your village! I want to be of service to the queen of sprits when she finally appears again!" the Dryad told the unsurprised kitsune as the fairy in her hand giggled and fluttered onto Kayo's shoulder.
"It's fine, but just like in Rimuru City you will have to earn your keep, and not just as an Oak tree. The other leaders will need to okay it as well." Kayo told her pointedly as the two Dryads where startled.
"H-how did you know?" Trya asked, blushing as she was rather meek and quiet this time.
"You smell like them, but to be honest it took me a while to recognize the scent since I grew up around Treyni." The Void fox explained before the other leaders joined them. Rimuru and the others were surprised that the foxes seemed to have come out of nowhere.
'That has to be some powerful concealment magic.' The slime thought before Great sage explained it to him.
Analyzing: It is a complex series of ruins, kitsune magic, and protections with the Rimuru Rock serving as its focal point to effect a large area with several smaller Rimuru rocks placed around Kayo Village. It does not conceal but rather makes the area blend in with the surroundings.
Great Sage informed him, even calling it Kayo Village gave the slime some amusement as his sister talked with the other kitsune leaders before they seemed to all agree on something, they all placed a hand on the rock and its 'eyes' opened with a strange glowing light, that blinded everyone before the sounds of a peaceful village reached their ears.
Opening his own eyes, the slime was shocked to see a rather fairy tale looking village.
Small houses made out of mounds of dirt, some of them even under trees with cute round doorways that where open with small windows. High up in the trees where even little houses among the colorful whine chimes where more Faries were seen coming out of. The road under them pathed with smooth white stones that made up a wide street that led up to a red bridge that arched gently over a moat, two kitsune statues at the entrance, one paw firmly on the pedestal while the other paw seemed to be on an oblong shaped sphere that turned out to be more stone Rimurus!
Then there was the obviously Japanese inspired wall that had large red gates blocking the way to what looked like a large Japanese castle along the shore of a large lake.
"Wow! This looks so cool!" Rimuru praised as he looked around eagerly, seeing many humanoid kitsune walking around, chatting with some handsome looking men that gave off the same aura as the dryad sisters, and even a few young children without ears or tails playing with obviously young kitsunes as they ran around. "Hey, I thought this village was supposed to be just for Kitsunes?" The slime questioned, smirking as Kayo looked away in embarrassment but Anthony was the one who laughed good naturedly. "My sis has a soft spot for young, orphaned children, when she goes to one of the human villages outside the forest, she usually finds an orphan none of the humans want and brings them here." The Fire fox informed the blue Tempest leader as he smiled knowingly at a blushing Kayo.
"I thought you didn't like humans?" Rimuru asked with a smirk. "I don't, but these children haven't learned to hate monsters simply for being not human or realize some humans can be worse than monsters. On the inside we are all the same, it's just a matter of what we are taught, what we do, and what we feel for ourselves." The void fox reasoned as a few children ran up to her and hugged the woman's legs.
"Lord Kayo! Thank you for the fun toys!" a human child thanked her, giving an innocent and wide smile. As the little kitsunes giggled and chimed excitedly about their simple toys, like a jump rope, a ball, a holla hoop, bubbles, even wooden and cloth dolls. "You're very welcome, now if I can get my legs back, please?" Kayo asked with a soft smile as the children went to go play. The slime giving her a knowing smile. 'Are you sure you don't want your own kids?' he asked her as the woman turned a dark red and glared at him.
"Come on, wait till you see the inside of the castle." she voiced as the small party got bigger once Soukas dragonewets, Souei, Benimaru, and Hakuro joined them, having run through the red torii gates. Looking ready for a fight only to be shocked to see that they were suddenly in a little village filled with colorful Kitsune, Faries, and Treants.
"What is this place?" Souka asked as she and her team looked around in shock and aww at how the once familiar aera had changed right in front of them. "Has... this always been here?" Benimaru asked as he couldn't help but be reminded of the Oni village he grew up in, only without the fairies fluttering around as a few came close to him and Souei. "We missed you guys' last night~ or did you take Lord Kayo away to be alone~?" one fairy asked, teasingly wiggling her eyebrows before Kayo growled, a warning for them to shut up and scatter away.
"How did you keep this a secret? Surely Souei or the dargonewts must have come across it at some point." Hakuro asked as he spotted some older foxes playing with some interesting looking tiles. Kayo shrugged as she led them down the pathway to the bridge. "I set certain parts of the Jura Forest as planed 'Blind spots', so either wildlife or foolish enemies would gather there. Along with other protection methods I can't really mention, but right now you only have to go through one of the Torii gates to come in and out of the village. That and I didn't tell Gobtia." Kayo added, chuckling along with Hakuro.
Once they got to the bridge the non-kitsune saw the eyes of the fox statues open, as they were really two gray Earth Kitsune, each with 4 tails. "We have honored guests, so no traps or tricks." Kayo told the two as the party made their way over the long bridge over a wide moat that had beautiful clear water as they could see colorful fish swimming around right to the bottom. 'Kayo really put in a lot of work here, I wonder how long she's been-' Rimuru was thinking before the large red doors open to the inner courtyard several high Orcs and kitsune where working on the final touches, The light blue and black tempest flag with Veldora's figure prominent Infront of the white burst and small yellow stars being proudly displayed.
"Geld!?" Rimuru called out as the Orc Lord turned to look at the slime who called him. "Lord Rimuru, it is a pleasure to see you here. Lord Kayo asked for our help in constructing this place and keeping it a secret, so please do not be angry with her." the large Orc greeted and bowed to the slime, only showing off two giggly blue fox eared children on his shoulders who slipped off and ran to the blue fox leader.
"Mommy! Daddy's been drinking the smelly stuff again!" the two kits told her, clinging to her skirts as the kitsunes' looked tense and uneasy. Kayo rubbing her forehead for the impending headache as she could smell the drunken water Kitsune leader shuffle out of the castle, of course with a large sake bottle in hand. "So you finally let your harem into the village?" The kitsune spat bitterly and drank from the bottle and glared at the new faces in the village. "What? The kijin and slime didn't satisfy you enough, whore? Your just like your father." he hissed angerly, Kayo giving an order to Geld who took the children away from the conflict, their mother looking torn to go with her children or deal with her drunk mate.
"Your drunk Neptune, get some food and water in you. Your liver has had enough of a workout." Kayo explained calmly to the kitsune before having to catch an empty Sake bottle that was thrown at her head. "I don't take orders from weak little kits! Your only in charge because of your father and that slime!" the kitsune hissed coming closer, not even stumbling. Rimuru almost questioned if the kitsune was drunk but he smelled like he bathed in sake.
"Y'all chose to keep following me, even when I offered you back your pearl and gave you a name, Neptune. I didn't want to be a Kitsune Lord." Kayo hissed, glaring at him before she let out a sigh and shook her head, not wanting to argue with a stubborn drunk. "Oceana, if you could join the council shortly after your mate sobers up." she asked the 4 tailed kitsune woman before the large 5 tailed kitsune towered over her, not touching her but his looming put many on edge, mostly Benimaru and Souei who were ready to come to her defense.
"Y-yes, My Lord. Dear, please calm down. We are going to be a part of Lord Rimuru's-Ah!" she was saying as she placed a hand on his arm only to be pushed away harshly and The Earth Kitsune Leader, Atlis caught the soft-hearted water kitsune and glared at her mate. "Hey! Neptune! Sober up!" The large kitsune growled before the older kitsune snapped. "Stay out of this, dirt dog! I'm not letting this little bitch make us slaves to a weak little slime!" Neptune hissed and glared at Shuna, reaching for her with ill intentions before Kayo grabbed his hand... then broke all of his fingers, much to the shock of the pink Kijin and slime who were confused why he had reached for Shuna in the first place.
"Get your eyes checked, old man. That is, Shuna. Not my brother." Kayo hissed before blood squirted out the back of his right leg making him kneel as Kayo kept his wrist in her firm grip to push him down, golden eyes staring down at the water fox leader, no emotion as the older Kitsune glared up at her, not yet feeling the pain just yet. "We kitsune call the Jura Forest our home. I was chosen to be its guardian in Lord Veldora's absence. So don't you dare try and cause harm to my family, let alone my little sister." Kayo affirmed with a low growl as she sparked black lighting again.
"That's just it, you're a useless runt on your own. Your nothing without someone else's power behind you. You didn't earn those tails! You're not fit to be a Kitsune Lord!" He hissed at her before she twisted his arm suddenly and there was a sickening crack that finally made the hostile kitsune cry out.
"Lord Kayo! Please! Spare his life!" Oceana pleaded as Kayo let out a small chilling laugh that sobered up the rowdy water kitsune yet chilled the blood of those watching the void kitsune easily handle the kitsune leader. "Spare his life? Be careful what you ask for Oceana... it might be worse than what you wanted." Kayo mussed, a Sicking crack coming from her right hand as one of her fingers had become disjointed.
"Your wrong... I don't need anyone's strength when I have my own set of skills and knowledge to make my own way... but... you did get one thing right." Kayo mussed before the large kitsune let out a strangled cry as Kayo's right hand had a bloody mass that dripped over her fingers and onto the ground. Everyone's blood ran cold as they could guess what the Void fox had done. "I'm not fit to be a Kitsune Lord. I don't care for it, but I don't run from my responsibilities either. Who else would fit to be a Kitsune Lord?" Kayo told him as she burred a strange bloody mass with black flames to ash.
"Certainly not you." Kayo scoffed.
"Kayo... that wasn't really what I think it was... right?" Rimuru questioned, believing that it had to have been fake, only great sage told him that Kayo really had ripped out the kitsune's tongue.
~Kitsune Meeting Hall~
"Apologies for having you see that. Neptune is not dealing with Otto's death very well since the two argued before I assigned them to guard the cave." Kayo voiced as she seemed to come out of whatever episode, having taken a few deep breaths, and giving the injured leader one of Rimuru's healing potions, the now obedient water kitsune was sent to sleep off the trauma in a guest room.
The Kitsune Lord and remaining Leaders sat on plush black pillows on the same level as those from the capital who were sitting on plush light blue pillows. Rimuru and the others took this time to look around the large tatami room a little, seeing the walls and doors painted with muilti-tailed kitsune, but the least colorful one caught the slime's attention.
"You have 7 tails!?" Rimuru asked, shocked as he counted the tails of the painted black kitsune then at Kayo who only showed off 3 for comfort. "When did that happen?" The slime asked, trying to recall when his sister had gained another tail.
Answer: After obtaining Master Surgen, Kayo Tempest had earned their 7th tail and is now 2 away from being a Full Kitsune Lord.
"I don't know, but that's not why we are here. You may call me you sister Lord Rimuru, but our village has yet to make our alliance with Tempest clear and official." Kayo voiced calmly and professionally as she pulled out paper documents and set them in front of Rimuru to look over, only he changed into his slime form and left his blue pillow to sit on Kayo's tails that lay curled up on her left, much to the shock of the kitsune leaders, but Kayo didn't stop him.
Only giving the slime an annoyed look as he let out a content sigh, nicely nestled in the heavenly soft, warm fur of his kitsune sister.
"Ah~ much better. Can you read them to me Kayo-chan? I've got my Hanko seals!" the slime cheerfully voiced as he spit out his seal box the kitsune had gifted him. Attempting to be cute as Kayo looked unamused. She stared at him for a but before looking to Shion who had taken a seat at Rimuru's right before he changed seats, gazing at the pair with envy.
"Shion, take note. Sometimes when your charge is acting like a child you must discipline them properly. Although given that Lord Rimuru doesn't feel pain, other methods must be used. Such as incentives that set the heart aflame, or threats that chill the soul." Kayo told her and in front of the slime popped up a black rectangle, while it seemed non threating, once the slime read the translated characters on the front, he let out a distressed cry, '151 Ways to Lewed a Slime'.
"KAYO! YOU WOULDN'T DARE!" The slime cried nervously as he shook even in Kayo's warm tails.
"Get off my tails and act like a proper leader, or else..." Kayo giggled cheerfully and gave the slime that scarry smile. The slime of course hopped back onto his pillow and took on his humanoid form, shedding tears and shaking. "Maybe you are a demon, I miss my cute little sister." he muttered pouting as those who followed him where very confused and shocked at the reaction. "L-lord Kayo, what did you just show Lord Rimuru?" Shion asked, reaching for the book but it disappeared back into the void of her fluffy tails.
'DON'T TELL HER! PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU!' The slime gave his pea, looking distressed as Kayo pushed his seals over to him, and without reading the documents the Slime stamped them with the official Tempest seal.
"You really should read the documents I give you, Lord Rimuru." Kayo scolded and let out a worried sigh. Taking them back, to add her own stamp to them without a second thought and they duplicated for each party to have a copy. The Tempest Seal and Kayo's personal seal on them making Kayo Village officially part of Tempest. "And you shouldn't let your brothers handle your paperwork." Rimuru smirked as Kayo finally noticed the official name of Kitsune Village being changed.
"Antony?" Kayo questioned as she looked to her eldest brother who was smiling sweetly. "No one else was against the name but you sis." He pointed out, much to the Kitsune Lord's annoyance as the other leaders nodded in agreement with small smiles. "Too late to change it now. How about ah- well I guess we can't celebrate this right now." Rimuru voiced before he remembered about that Kitsune's mourning their fallen as he noticed the alter with the paintings and offerings... lots of offerings ranging from food to flowers to toys and even uncut gems!
"We can still celebrate just not as big as you would like, Lord Rimuru." Kayo addressed him as the slime frowned. "Hey, you can just call me slime ball or even Rimuru-Nii-san, Kayo. Hearing you call me Lord Rimuru gives me the creeps." Rimuru told her honestly as he was given a solution to his current problem by great sage. "Pretty please with strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream on top? I miss it, Kayo- nee-chan~." the slime asked, making his golden eyes big and watery, sticking out his lower lips to give a puppy dog pout to add to the hit of calling her big sister that threw the Kitsune lord off as her tails tensed and she looked away from him, clutching her chest while cursing under her breath. The kitsune leaders chuckled at the siblings, glad to see their leader wasn't acting like the oldest being in the room anymore.
'Weakness acquired~. Two can play this game sis.' the slime thought with a mental smirk before Kayo glared at him, making him tense as the kitsune lord pulled something from her tails and thrust it in front of his face. "Huh! Is this?" Rimuru questioned, shocked as he gently took the makeshift bamboo cup from her, golden eyes sparking in excitement as he saw the familiar childhood treat inside, a spoon imbedded in it and ready for devouring.
"Finely shaved ice topped with sweet Blue Hawaiian syrup, or rather Great Rimuru Syrup." Kayo mussed, smirking at the slime who was already happily eating the familiar flavor with tears of joy running down his face. "You even got the color to match! How!?" he asked her eagerly as his subordinates watched in aww before they were offered shaved ice with the Great Rimuru syrup by several servant foxes carrying trays filled with the fluffy ice, one small fox given the honor of holding the many colorful syrups. Most took the blue one but for Benimaru, he was curious about the red drenched ice and Souei noticed the indigo flavor, each tasting like strawberries and blueberries which where Kayo's favorite fruits.
"Trial and error. It's mostly thanks to Kurobe and Kijin for their help making the shaved ice machine though. The Ice magic was the easy part." Kayo explained as she waved her tails and showed them all the finished cute device that had made the cool treats, the top looking like Rimuru. "Who made the Syrup then? The taste is spot on." Rimuru asked, smiling knowingly as his kitsune sister got a green flavored syrup. "Apito was a big help since we used her honey to get the sweetness and Miss Mirabell worked on the extracts for me before I had to taste test them for flavor and safety, so even Ranga can have some." Kayo mussed as the tempest wolf came out of Rimuru's shadow and happily licked his Rimuru colored ice that was put in a special bowl for him to enjoy. "Thank you so much Master Kayo!" the wolf praised happily even as his muzzle got stained by the syrup.
"So cold~ and delicious~." Shion praised and blushed. "Is this how Lord Rimuru tastes?" the kijin woman asked as she moans rather suggestively taking another spoonful of the treat. "Not really, he just tastes like spring water with a hint of lemon grass." Kayo admitted, having picked that flavor for her shaved ice and was slowly enjoying it. Ignoring how everyone suddenly looked at her in disbelief at the odd comment.
"Kayo... how do you know that?" Benimaru asked, shocked and a bit confused about how his mate knew the taste of Rimuru. "I've licked him before. I was curious about what a slime tasted like when I first met him." Kayo admitted with a careless shrug before they told her what normal slimes tasted like... and what toppings to put on them which terrified their slime leader into staying in Kayo's tails, where he felt safest even in his humanoid form.
~Rimuru's Stomach~
"Do you think she would give us some if we asked?" Veldora asked Ifrit, the storm dragon looking longingly at the icy treat, two of his clawed fingers pressing together in front of him as it seemed the powerful dragon was... pouting?
"She would, but could we taste it is the question." The fire sprit reasoned, tempted to try the colorful ice himself, wondering if it could be a bad idea for him to try and eat magic ice... or would it?
"Humph... true. I wanna eat yummy food too, Kayo and Rimuru make it all look so good~." The dragon whined as he started drooling, thinking of all the food Kayo had made for the slime so far, his tail wagging behind him. "Would she make something for me? Rimuru is my sworn friend after all." the dragon mentioned, having a strange feeling as he saw the Void Kitsune stick out her tongue that was dyed a light green now, Rimuru doing the same only his was almost matching his hair color, both Tempest leaders laughing at the after effect. Ranga joining them with his dyed muzzle licking both the kitsune and slime with his blue tongue.
"Doki! Doki!" the dragon shouted out loud as his jaw dropped, a small pink blush on his cheeks that confused the fire sprit as he noticed the dragon squirm more and whine. "I wanna get out of here so badly~." Veldora muttered before he sensed someone come into the slime's stomach. "Who's there!? Show yourself or face my wrath!" Veldora roared and Ifrit got ready to fight something other than the storm dragon. Slowly golden eyes came forward and a man with short dark hair with red and yellow streaks in his bangs, dressed in a dark suit came up to them.
"Who are you!? What do you think you are doing here!?" Veldora asked as he tried to look scarry, having realized this was a demon from his blackened left eye alone... but his right eye felt like Kayo's, and he was missing an arm?
"I believe you and I share similar goals, Storm Dragon Veldora." The demon mentioned as he slowly raised his remaining arm, to show that he was not here to fight the dragon. "You're the demon that tied to take over MY Little Kayo's Body!? You will pay for that foul demon!" The dragon roared protectively as he let his aura out... but it was rather useless while sealed away but the demon did flinch at his words.
"Save your energy for figuring out how to get out of our prisons." The demon mentioned, narrowing his eyes in annoyance, smirking. "I too have been sealed away, although mine isn't as powerful as yours. It is still very effective in keeping me contained." the demon mentioned confidently. "Why are you telling us this?" Ifrit asked, confused by the demon and worried for Kayo. This demon had once been trying to kill the kind kitsune to get at her slime brother, now it was trying to get out and possibly finish whatever he started.
"Because I believe we can assist each other. The power of a True Dragon and the intelligence of a Primordial Demon could break us both from our prisons much sooner than if we worked independently." The demon mentioned, giving off a rather crazed smile "So we may all be by the clever little Kitsune's side. Don't you both, desire the same thing?" Ifrit and Veldora looked at each other, more unsure of the demon's tempting offer.
