I Got Reincarnated! - Kitsune Chronicles
~Extra Chapter~ Season's Greetings: Summer, Part 2
The summer days where no longer cursed with the harsh heat as refreshing showers blessed the land of Tempest, be it from the residence hanging Rimuru shaped charms to wish for rain or, Kayo using a fraction of Veldora's power to summon a small rainstorm. The kitsune herself enjoying the warm sun while in a pleasant meadow that had taken to the blessing very well, as it was littered with blooming flowers in every color, as large bee looking creatures buzzed excitedly around the massive buffet like place.
"Ah~ This is wonderful~." Kayo hummed happily, stretching out in her little kitsune form across Trya's lap, as she gently ran a brush over the kitsune's body, helping to get her black and white fur coat back to its silky-smooth appearance. "I'm glad you're enjoying this, Lord Kayo." Trya giggled softly, enjoying her 'punishment' at being the Kitsune's groomer for the day. "Sister! Please let me have a turn brushing Lord Kayo's fur." another Dryad begged as she had watched both her elder sisters get the honor of brushing out the Kitsune Lord's fur. Even if Treyni had a much larger kitsune to bush then Trya currently did, it was adorable seeing the powerful leader look so cute and harmless.
"Doreth, did you do what Lord Kayo asked of you?" Trya asked her sister, not wanting to stop her duties, Kayo allowing the dryad to brush her white belly fur. "Y-yes, of course! I have Mr. Zegion's responses right here as well, Lord Kayo. He really enjoyed the different kinds of sap; he wishes to thank you for thinking of him." The dryad informed, presenting the notebook that held the beetle's comments on the saps, as the kitsune was getting her belly fur brushed out. "That's good, Doreth. Hold on to the information for me until Trya is done." Kayo told her, almost purring as the woman was doing a very good job of getting the few knots and tangles out of her fur. 'Should I feel bad for using him as a tree tester?' Kayo idlily thought, having gathered sap from trees all across the Jura Forest, Dwargon, from the two human kingdoms at their border, and also from Demon Lord Carron and Milim's domains.
"Lord Kayo! T-thank you for this wonderful feast, I will be sure to make lots of honey for you and Lord Rimuru!" One of the large bee like creatures few up to the kitsune and Dryads, happily buzzing form their full stomach with there being more flowers to enjoy. "Good to hear, Apito. I'm glad you can enjoy the flowers too. Come fall or winner, come to me if you're having trouble getting enough nectar." Kayo offered, giving a small yawn as she had grown fond of the bee like creature, Rimuru having helped it while they were out on walk together.
"Big sister? Where are you going in such a hurry?" Doreth asked innocently, having noticed Treyni was trying to slip away from the group, the elder Dryad tensing up as she had been noticed. "A powerful group surpassing rank A has made and unsettling move. It poses a terrible threat to other races." The eldest dryad explained to her sister, Kayo seeming to have fallen asleep. "I am going to meet them in person and attempt to negotiate." She said and turned her back to her sisters, trying not to give away what she was doing, least the kitsune stop her. "Then let us go with you! I'm sure Lord Kayo will be able to reason with them." Trya suggested as she stood up with a sleeping Kayo in her arms, passively squishing the cute pink toe beans of the little kitsune.
"No. If you both leave here as well, who will help Lord Kayo take care of the forest?" Teryni asked, looking worried that Kayo would wake up from her little nap, but it seemed the kitsune was still asleep. "In the event that I do not return, you two must continue to protect this forest as Lord Veldora ordered and assist Lord Kayo to have it flourish and become stronger!" The eldest Dryad told them before she turned her back to them... hoping they believed her reasoning.
"Big sister..."
"Please be safe." They said and Teryni tried not to show her joy, remaining deadly serious to not give herself away but it was useless. "If you wanted to join them you could have just asked." Kayo voiced, yawning as she wiggles her paw out of Trya's fingers. The dryads all froze and looked at the little kitsune in confusion.
"W-whatever do you mean Lord Kayo?" Teryni asked as she looked back at the now awake kitsune who spotted the odd tropical flower on the eldest Drayd's chest. "You wanted to join my brother and the others at the lake, right? Don't make things sound worse than it is when it's our people. You could have just asked to join them." Kayo explained as she hopped out of the middle dryad sister's arms and took on her humanoid form. Dressed simply in a green tunic and tan pants with some boots, her hair done into a loose braid down her back with some of it covering up her left eye.
"D-does that mean I can?" Treyni asked, looking at the kitsune with some hope as the kitsune leader gave her a smile. "Nope. You're not finished here yet and it would be cruel if you left the rest of your work to your sisters, while you go off to play with my brother and his harem." Kayo joked, smirking as the eldest dryad laughed nervously, her two sisters glaring at her for trying to trick them.
"Sister? Is that true?" The youngest asked, looking very disappointed.
"Um well, I am the eldest so I should really check in on Lord Rimuru, t-to ensure his safety. Right?" she weakly suggested as the woman crossed her arms under her chest and shook her head. "How about you finish your work instead of sulk because you weren't invited? Then maybe you can-" Kayo was saying before the froze and the color drained from her face as a rather large beetle crawled form her back to her right shoulder.
"Lord Kayo, Thank you. I am very grateful for your thoughtfulness." the beetle voiced, sounding very happy unlike the kitsune who was scared stiff with the large bug crawling on her... but she snakingly managed to bring her hand up and give the insect a soft pat on his back before passing out in sheer terror.
~Later, Kayo's Secret Garden~
"Ahh~ the roses look just lovely. I'm glad the heat didn't hurt them much." Kayo giggled as she admired the soft light blue petals that doted the outer boundry of the garden she kept. It was not too far from her little home that had become more like a mini work shop since that night... and since the residences of Kayo village were adamite that their leader have a big luxurious room in the village if not in the castle that served more as a fort, should the worse come to pass.
Kayo didn't flinch as a kuni appeared over her left shoulder, where her hair was still covering her face.
"Don't give it to me blade first, Sou-sou." the kitsune scolded, looking back over her shoulder at the kijin who gave her a soft smile before he flipped the weapon over so he was holding the blade and giving the handle to Kayo who carefully took it from him before she noticed his change in clothes. "Wow! Are you relaxing?" the kitsune questioned, eyeing him carefully as she noticed he was in a loose fitting dark blue long-sleeved shirt that hid his body well, but looking further down her eyes went wide in shock.
"A-are those, jeans!?" Kayo blunted out, pointing to the nice fitting light blue denim jeans the kijin was wearing. Souei nodded and chuckled at her reaction, finding it cute. "Do you like them? There rather hard to move in but the master dwarves where insistent I have a few pairs of them." he told her, confused originally why the dwarves were giving him these strange pants until he saw Kayo's reaction to them.
"Y-yes, they look good. You think you can help me pick some of the berries you helped me plant then?" Kayo asked, trying not to go into naughty territory as she mentally thanked the dwarves for their 'surprise'. Souei nodded and bent over to grab the berry basket before he turned to look back at Kayo who was staring at him wide eyed, mouth open and her face red with some blood dripping from her nose.
"Ese... es el más grande de Tempest." Kayo sighed and smiled at the confused Souei who gave her an annoyed look. "What was that language you just used?" he asked, not questioning her about the bloody nose, extra curious when she had mentioned Tempest. Kayo quickly wiped away the blood and shook her head. "I-it's nothing to worry about. Let's pick some of the berries and decapitate some roses." She suggested, fiddling with the kuni he had given her. Souei chuckled at her joke before they got started picking the berries that Kayo grew in this part of her little garden.
~Later, Kayo's Home~
"Is this really going to be edible?" Souei questioned as he watched as his mate boil some of the rose petals from the flowers they had collected, leaving some of the special blue roses in a small vase with low potion inside to keep them alive for a little longer. "Possibly, I've never tried it before." Kayo admitted as she was also working on a large batch of strawberry and blueberry to make into jam. A white apron over her clothes and a golden star hair clip holding back the hair that she had covering her eyes before.
"That's new." The kijin voiced, staring at the star in her hair, as it had a sparkly white gem in its center. "It is, father gave it to me after I nailed my first concert." Kayo told him, giggling as she had not expected Gazel Dwargo to get her a gift for impressing her snobby music teacher. "Father?" Souei questioned, smirking as he knew she wasn't talking about her kitsune sire. "D-don't tell anyone I call him that." Kayo blushed as she realized it. "What will you give me for it?" Souei playfully teased before he felt a warm weight on his lap and saw Kayo straddling him suddenly with a smirk.
"Don't play this game with me Kitty~. You always lose~." the kitsune purred as she kissed the kijin's lips, Souei blushed but slowly kissed her back, the feeling of warm energy flowing into his body from the kiss. Kayo placed her hands on his chest and slowly moved them up to his shoulders leaving behind a strange tingling feeling threw his clothes as they wrapped around his neck, pulling him close to her warm chest as she pulled away. The ninja peacefully nuzzling into her warmth as she planted a small kiss on his horn before he noticed Kayo's natural scent was a bit stronger than normal.
"Persimmons?" the ninja voiced, sounding a bit shocked as Kayo loosened her hold to look at him in confusion. "What? Am I still sweaty? I-i showered this morning, and even used the masking scent soap." the kitsune asked, slightly panicked, thinking she still smelled but Souei took a deep breath of Kayo's scent, making her face go dark red with embarrassment and panic. "It's not sweat... you smell like, persimmons and... some strange spice." he ninja told her, blushing as he looked away from her chest before she got off his lap and started stripping off her clothes.
"Nope! Not buying it! I'm going to shower!" she yelled, making her way to her bathroom, leaving a clothing trail behind her and a shocked Souei behind before he made a clone to get his mate some spare clothes, as he tried to calm down from her 'teasing'.
~Rimuru City, Stables~
"Spead it around evenly in the stall, Master Benimaru." A goblin instructed Benimaru who had been told by Rimuru to help out at the stables for some reason. "Alright. Leave it to me." the kijin responded confidently, as he easily picked up the hay bale and started to spread it around the small stall to make bedding for animals that had been hurt. It was interesting to see other creatures that lived in the Jura Forest that were not monsters.
"A Unicorn?" Benimaru questioned, curious as he approached the stall that had the mother and child unicorns, only avoiding having the mother take his eye out with her horn, glaring at the kijin almost viciously. "Yeah, don't go near the unicorns if you've had sex, Master Benimaru. It only let's pure maidens near it. Even Lord Kayo has trouble treating them." A goblin warned the kijin, who frowned as he only saw the angry mother in the stall before something nugged the side of his face. Confused the crimson kijin looked and saw the pure white winged horse looking back at him, sniffing him before sneezing in his face, covering him with some strange goo.
"Ivory, that's not very nice." Kayo scolded the horse who happily nayed at the woman's appearance. "Kayo!" Benimaru called her name happily as he turned to her but was shocked at what she was wearing.
A black kimino top lined with a brilliant crimson red, and while the sleeves where long enough to cover past the kitsune's finger tips, the bottom barely reached her hips. A red obi and a gold cord tired around her middle showed off her hourglass figure, her breasts and something white and lacy was peeking out under the stretched fabric over her chest. It wasn't much better as she had on some shorts on her legs that covered her thighs but were clinging to her skin tightly, a kuni pouch clinging to her right thigh, her fluffy black and white tipped tails tried to hide them by curling around her with some simple black boots with slight heels on her feet.
"Souei picked this out for me." She told the staring kijin, behind her Souei giving a small chuckle even as Kayo glared at him. "It... it looks good." Benimaru admitted, glancing at his old friend, giving him a nod of approval as the Kitsune woman looked very embarrassed. "Maybe for some mission, but not a peaceful day. Why are you here Benimaru? I though you would be out patrolling again." Kayo asked, blushing as she offered him a light blue handkerchief to wipe the horse snot off his face. He smiled at her and took it, admiring how she took care of the beast that had snorted on him.
"Lord Rimuru suggested I come work at the stables to be more productive. The Master Dwarves even suggested I wear these, Danm em Jeans? It seems to be the uniform here but they are quite restrictive." Benimaru explained as Kayo's eyes widen as she took a look at what he was wearing, not having noticed the difference until he mentioned jeans... he was in his normal white top, soaked a bit in sweat from his work, but over his thighs were beautifully stretched out denim jeans.
'Oh, Fuck~!' She thought with a mix of dread and excitement, shivering and biting her lip to prove that it wasn't the beginning of a wet dream. "Kayo! Your nose is bleeding!" Benimaru told her, confused by her reaction before Souei came and wiped it for the mentality panicking kitsune.
~Rimuru City, Konohagakure Snack & Bar~
"Welcome! Oh! Lord Kayo! Are you here for a drink?" A goblina greeted the kitsune as she entered, blushing as she noticed the Kitsune leader was followed by Benimaru and Souei. "Not this time Hanako. I just want to check the stock before I have to leave for Dwargon." She told the Goblina, giving her a kind smile before she walked behind the bar and turned to the two Kijin's. "You boys want anything? It's going to take a while." She informed them as they seemed a little dazed. "Water." Souei asked coolly and nugged Benimaru who snapped out of his strange daze, having been enjoying the sweet scent coming off his kitsune mate. "Milk!" Benimaru shouted, blushing as he glared at Souei who took a seat at the bar, the red kijin took the one next to him as Kayo gave a small laugh.
"Okay. Water and Milk coming right up." Kayo mussed as she got them both their requested drinks for them personally, before Hanako spoke up. "L-lord Kayo, Treyni said that you gave her permission to take the Sliver Sakura wine." she informed the kitsune who set the glasses down a bit harder than intended before turning to the goblina who got very scared of the sharp look the kitsune was giving her.
"Y-you didn't? I'm so sorry! I didn't try to stop her!" Hanako panicked and looked at her feet in shame before she felt a hand pet her head. Confused the goblina carefully looked up at the motherly kitsune.
"It's alright. You couldn't have stopped her yourself even if you did know." Kayo assured her as she pushed down her anger at the Dryad. 'WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE MY BEST PRODUCT! TREYNI YOUR GONNA PAY!' The kitsune cursed the nature sprit as she counted to 10 and then she sighed, pulling out a bottle of the Sliver Sakura Wine she had in her tails. "Be sure to serve this come Game Night. Abiru is going to join us this week." Kayo told her and the ribbon holding her braid together happily put the bottle up high for the kitsune, Souei and Benimaru giving it suspicious looks, being some of the few who knew what the 'ribbon' really was.
"My father is coming!?" Gabiru asked as he and his men had just come in before the Kitsune said his father's name, Kayo turned to look at him as Hanako greeted them. "Oh! Welcome Sir Gabiru. What can I get for you?" The goblina asked before the dargonewts approached the bar, Kayo patting the goblina on the shoulder to let her handle them as she took inventory for anything else that was missing.
"Barly Tea for me and my men. Now what was it about my father joining something?" the dragonewt questioned again as he took a seat at the bar, looking to Kayo but Hanako answered him as the kitsune went into the back room but left the door ajar to listen in. "Yes, he's joining Lord Kayo's Game Night that she has with King Rigurd, Mr. Hakuro, some of the goblin lords, and a few guests they invite from time to time to play games with them. Next week is set for a game Lord Kayo calls Mahjong." Hanako informed the dargonewt who nodded to her in thanks as she served them their tea.
"Ah, so even my father is in one of our Lord's services." The dragonewt sighed as he looked down at his drink, looking rather sadly. "Why would Lord Rimuru take Souka instead of me, an all-rounder who excels on land water and air?!" he asked loudly with great distress.
"Lady Souka is also an all-rounder, Sir Gabiru." One of Gabiru's men chimed, Kayo didn't recall their name for some reason, even with Catalog. "Ah, I feel as if Souka is going further and further away as of late... my cute little Souka who used to toggle along after me calling Brother! Brother!" The dragonewet reminisced sorrowfully, but another of his mean spoke up. "Your fabricating memories, Sir Gabiru." they told their distressed leader who sounded like he was guggling his drink down. 'From what Abiru has told me, it's partly true. She was togging after him... but to make him behave.' The kitsune thought, having listened to the woes of the Lizardmen chief during some of their meetings, how worried he was of his son and how proud he was of his daughter, wanting them both to be strong and capable leaders like Rimuru and herself.
"You guys don't know how it feels to have such a capable little sister!" Gabiru yelled at them as he slammed his drink down only to feel a firm hand on his shoulder. Confused the dragonewt, looked to the owner, a bit shocked to see the Samuri genral, Benimaru giving him and understanding gesture. "I understand you, Gabiru. Shuna has also been drifting away from me. Serving Lord Rimuru in these peaceful times. While I am only useful in battle, but with no enemies to fight all I can do is try and protect the smiles of those I love." Benimaru told him, giving a soft smile at the dragonewts looked at him in aww before Gabiru nodded and took his hand off his shoulder and held it.
"I see why Lord Kayo is fond of you, but we shall see how long that lasts before I become her new favorite~." Gabiru said smugly. Shocking everyone in the bar before Kayo came back to the front. "Okay, the stock is refilled. Is something wrong here?" the kitsune asked innocently, but her tails flickering behind her in annoyance gave her real feelings away, despite the confused look on her face.
"Lord Kayo! You're a little sister to Lord Rimuru, yet you have such a good relationship to him, not to mention your kitsune brothers and sisters as well. How do you keep such close bonds with them!?" Gabiru asked as he tried to jump over the bar but was caught midair in the kitsune's surprisingly strong grasp... and there was a rather worrying crack that came from the over excited lizard. Kayo setting him back down on the other side of the bar.
"No jumping over the counter." She scolded the lizard who slumped onto the bar, shaking in pain as his men looked both worried and scared.
"As for the answer to that... well, I have them do small chores for me, even Rimuru does things for me from time to time." She told them as Benimaru seemed very interested. "C-chores? Even Lord Rimuru?" he questions as his kitsune mate nodded. "Yes, just a few days ago he made me a cup of coffee. It wasn't that good, but I still appreciated the attempt. As for my kitsune siblings... well, they make sure I'm not over worked and do as I ask for the sake of Tempest. We work well as a team since we have many things to bond over then just a blood relation." She explained and gave a soft smile before she gave Gabiru a menacing look.
"And Gabiru, don't you dare ever question my loyalties." she told the dragon and pat his head as he was still shaking with pain. "Kay~?" she asked with a beaming smile that scared his followers, but made Benimaru and Souei give a small smile, but for very different reasons.
~Kayo's Hide Away, Night~
"This Sand ria tastes amazing!" Benimaru praised as the three had made their way to Kayo's hide away, Kayo having shared the fruity wine with the two kijin's as they sat outside under the night sky with a crescent moon hanging alongside the stars. "It's Sangria~, be careful not to drink too much." Kayo gently corrected Benimaru, already seeing his face tint red from the fruity wine. "I'm not a light weight." the red kijin pouted cutely, making Kayo giggle as Souei sipped his glass quietly... a pink tint to his face. Both males sitting around a small campfire as they looked out at a beautifully lit Rimuru City under the stary sky. While Kayo was BBQ something for the 3 of them, sipping on her own glass of the familiar drink, her tails wagging happily behind her.
"Is this BBQ?" Souei questioned, or rather a clone the ninja had made, as he assisted Kayo with the cooking, watching her with great interests as she carefully flipped the patties that she had put on the hot grate over some charcoal. "Yeah, I've been wanting to try this recipe I found. It's supposed to be really good~." she told him excitedly, a little sad she couldn't tell them the truth about where it had come from. Souei clone looked at the sliced tomatoes, the strange yellowish orange flat squires, the white, yellow and red bottles, the spinach leaves and the odd brown buns with a strange four-pointed star pattern on top. "Are you going to make this for Lord Rimuru?" Souei clone asked, curious as his mouth was nearly watering at the smell of the mysterious patties Kayo had mixed with some unknown ingredients but the Kitsune shook her head sadly.
"Not really. I would have to change out the bun, since slimes can't touch salt, and the pretzel bun is pretty tasteless without salt." she told him and looked up at the two kijin as they whispered about something interesting, only for the Souei clone to gently grab her ear to distract her. "Nyan~ Hey!" Kayo couldn't help but make that sound as the ninja pet her ear, making her shiver at the nice feeling. "What's this in your ear?" he asked her, and Kayo was confused for a bit before she told him. "They are ear piercings, I thought they would look nice." she told him and tried to get his hand off her ears so she could hear what her mates were talking about.
"How did you do it?" he asked her, keeping on distracting the kitsune who gave him a stern look. "Souei are you trying to hide something from me again?" She hissed at him, as the clone looked away for a bit, blushing.
"Kayo, you made rings for us?!" Benimaru asked as he stood up suddenly, along with Souei but the red kijin leaded on his friend as he was unstable. Kayo's golden eyes widen as her tails froze at his words. "Who told you!?" she nearly screeched, blushing bright red before she gave a stern look to Souei... who looked away guiltfully before she sighed. "I should have known, but you're getting better at finding information." Kayo praised the ninja who chuckled. "So... it's true? You made us rings!?" Benimaru asked, his eyes almost glowing in the dim light as Kayo reached into her tails to pull out a crimson and dark blue box.
"I... I wanted this to be a surprise, but I guess now that the ninja has found out I can show you what I made for my m-mates." Kayo stuttered and let the two Kijin's open their boxes, while the kitsune nervously watched their reactions. "A... necklace?" Benimaru questioned, bit disapointed, as he pulled out the black and silver magisteal chain that was attached to a fox charm, not unlike his sister's... only the fox's tail held a pearlescent megisteal ring in its tails, several red gems imbedded into the outer surface but inside was an inscription he couldn't read in his buzzed state let alone in such dim lighting. Souei looked at his for a while longer before pulling it out... amused by the black choker that had a black metal fox at the center, curled around a black ring with several dark blue gems coating the outside of the ring with an inscription on the inside.
"I made them so... they won't get in the way of your duties. The rings won't come out until I-" Kayo was saying before Souei's clone kissed her... he had the same taste as the original, but it was a bit watered down, it still made the kitsune blush a darker red before he pulled away.
"What do they say?" Benimaru asked eagerly, slipping the necklace on and instantly feeling strange and warmer than the wine could have made him. "Don't worry about that, at least keep that a surprise. Okay?" Kayo asked, blushing as her heart pounded hard against her chest as she took care of the patties and assembled their food, along with some baked sliced potatoes she had managed to keep away from the potato chip crazy, Treyni.
"Food's ready. You have to try the Honey Burgers and Fries." she reasoned with them trying to change the subject. Helping Souei put his choker on as he dismissed his clone so the three of them could eat together, upon taking their first bite of the Honey burger... the two Kijin's were lost in heaven as they tasted the slaty bun, the tangy mustard, the cool creamy ness of the white stuff she spread between the buns, the fresh tomatoes and spinach, the savoryness of the orangeish yellow slice, and then... there was the juicy sweet patty that had a hit of some hot spice.
Kayo giggled as she had the familiar creation but gave a sad smile as the memory of her past life came to her, closing her eyes for a bit to revisit that memory of making something that felt like it was her own secret thing. Only two warm sets of lips on her cheeks snapped her out of the memory as she opened them with a start, as she looked at her two mates looking at her with some warm emotion that made her blush a dark red, her tails fluffing out as a pleasant chill came over her. "W-was it... really that good?" she asked them unsurely, yelling at herself for the stupid question, since they couldn't have had anything like a hamburger before. "Of course, everything you make is delicious." Benimaru encouraged but then Souei corrected him. "Except tea." he mused, getting all three of them to chuckle.
"I'm still working on that. I can't be good at everything. There is still so much I haven't done~ so just you wait~." Kayo softly sang, as she finished her burger and fries so she could just sit with her mates and sip her wine under the stars. Her golden eyes lit up as she saw a shooting star, quickly folding her hands together and making a prayer.
'Lord Veldanava, thank you for allowing me this joyous time. Forgive this selfish servant for enjoying these precious moments.'
"What did you wish for?" Benimaru asked, his right arm draped over her shoulders, holding her close as Souei got to have his head in her lap and she gently ran her fingers threw his short locks, putting him into a pleasant daze. "Nothing. I was just... thankful for this time with both of you." Kayo told him with a soft smile before Benimaru just kissed her lips, the taste of wine and his warmth infecting her body pleasantly. While it was a simple kiss, it left the Kitsune feeling restless and wanting to show the kijin how to really kiss. Benimaru gulped as he saw that steaming look in her golden eyes and felt her other hand on his thigh slowly move closer to a very private aera.
Unfortunately, Souei suddenly sneezed, breaking through the fiery feeling they were sharing. Then the ninja sneezed again and again as he sat up and out of Kayo lap, a frown on his face as he sniffled.
"Someone is talking about me." he grumbled unhappily, making Benimaru chuckled nerviously, having an idea who it could be talking about the ninja, and a little disapointed as he tried to calm himself. "Maybe we should go inside? It's getting cold and you might just be getting sick." Kayo reasoned worriedly, able to push aside Lust, slipping out from under Benimaru's arm and stood up, brushing away the grass that stuck to her. "If I was, would you take care of me?" Souei asked her before he received a poke to his nose. "Of course, kitty. Let's get warmed up inside." Kayo mussed as the ninja gave her a soft smile before he sneezed again, the kitsune worried he had really gotten sick.
~Morning~
"Yeah, you're sick alright." Kayo frowned as she checks over the snotty and congested ninja as he curled back under his sheets, feeling awful. The cat that had stared the space with him mewed cutely as it climbed into the kitsune's arms asking for food. "What is going to happen with the dragonewts under his command?" Benimaru asked, a bit worried for his friend as he watched him suffer with runny nose, high fever, and a cough that sounded like a sonic attack. "Possibly give them a break until he's better or have them train with the kits but that might be more harmful to their pride then their bodies." Kayo reasoned as she gave the cute cat a scratch before she pulled them off to set them down which made the cat pout and turn away from her.
"Please train them well, don't go easy on them." Souei muttered threw his stuffy nose, shivering as he paled from the nausea, not wanting his mate's delicious food from last night to go to waste. "If you need to throw up just do it. Maybe the burgers where a bit too much for you?" Kayo worriedly explained as she had to quickly help the ninja throw up into a bucket, vomiting for a good 3 minutes. "Yeah, it was probably my food that finally did it to you. You're not used to a lot of spices." she softly whined as she rubbed his back, handed the icky bucket to Benimaru so the cat wouldn't get into it. While he made a face at the smell, he took care of it for them.
"Maybe, you should cook for me more." Souei suggested as he carefully drank the water Kayo had given him, finding the taste a bit off from normal. "What is in this?" he asked her curious as the Kitsune pulled out a small jar that smelled very strong. "Aloe Vera pulp, it helps settle the stomach and this is Vapor rub, you should have an easier time breathing with this." Kayo explained as she shows him the small green jar. Curious the ninja watched her and was a bit surprised when she just opened his sleeping kimono up to expose his chest. Then she started to rub that strange smelling stuff on his chest, it was cool and tingly on his skin that he gave a small moan at the feeling and found himself breathing more easily.
"Feeling a bit better?" she asked softly, and the ninja sighed, slowly breathing in the smell of the goo and the sweet scent of the kitsune, a smirk came on his face. "You smell again." he told her and the kitsune woman pinched him for his comment, giving a cat like hiss.
~A Few Days Later, Kayo's Office~
"Thank you, Lord Kayo for this great honor." A goblin bowed low to the kitsune who had called him into her office to put him in charge of the ice houses and the products that were made using them. "I trust in your abilities and judgment Yuki. Go check it out today if you want, Boris will get you up to speed on things." She informed him as she went back to her normal work once done assigning someone to head up her icehouse projects. While Boris the orc was a good manger, he lacked the ability to talk to others besides Geld and his own wife who was enough of a chatter box for the two of them. While the goblin Yuki was more outgoing and friendly but was no push over thanks to a little pep talk with Kayo.
As the kitsune brought her black mug to her lips she pouted and narrowed her eyes at the bright white letters at the bottom. "Well I guess it's time for a refill." She sighed and put down the paper documents in favor of getting more of her caffeinated beverage, only getting 5 steps out of her office before Rimuru ran up to her in his humanoid form, a big smile on his face. "Kayo! Emergency meeting!" He told the kitsune before he just grabbed her arm and tried to drag her into the meeting room... but somehow, she remined in place as the slime tried to move her.
"What is it this time, slime ball? Can't it wait until I get a fresh cup of coffee?" Kayo asked, not feeling like it was really an emergency and just something that excited the slime. "How much coffee have you drank? You're in the same clothes from yesterday." the slime noticed, as his kitsune sister was still in the black scrubs from yesterday. "I have more than one pair of black scrubs, Slime ball. What's go you so excited today?" Kayo asked, trying to avoid talking about her long workday. "I want to put on... A Summer Festival!" He told her excitedly, if anyone knew what he was talking about, it would be his fellow reincarnated Otaku who stared at him form a moment with a tired blank look.
"Okay."
The slime pouted and glared at her lackluster response, crossing his arms over his chest. "You've been here since yesterday, haven't you?" he asked as the Kitsune turned away from him. "Let me get some coffee and then we can talk." she told him add started to walk down the stairs and not towards the kitchen or meeting room, much to the slime leader's confusion. "But the kitchen is the other way? Aww~ I thought she would be super hyped for this." Rimuru sighed, feeling a little bad that his kitsune sister was working so much, consulting Great Sage for a solution.
~Tempest Accounting Team~
"So is it enough?" Kayo asked as she sat and sipped her coffee calmly, having giving some numbers to the team who were speedily and accurately calculating the amount of time and money that would be needed to pull off a 'Summer Festival'. Tome turned to her as he finished writing on a wooden tablet the final numbers, presenting it to the kitsune with a deep bow. "Yes, my Lord. There is more than enough in two of the Sudden Event Funds you have set aside for Lord Rimuru. It will only drain half of the second one to realize the demon slime's wishes." Tome told her as she took the tablet, trying not to laugh at what he had just called her brother. Carefully looking it over and the amounts allotted to each piece that would make up the event.
"Good. The budget will be funds one and two, should anything go over that budget let me know and I will personally sign off on the excess from my own accounts." She told the team who nodded but they looked at her in shock as she smiled warmly. "I want a summer festival too; can't let the slime ball have all the fun now can I?" She mussed and set down her empty cup and got up to slip away into the shadows, a trick she loved to do and made her move quickly before she popped up behind the slime as he had showed the natives of this world his idea for the summer festival, being too focused on the slime to notice her at first.
"You'll have 1 week to prepare." He told those present in the 'emergency' meeting before he was wacked on the head by Kayo, no one had moved to defend their slime leader form the sudden assault. "Ouch! What the!?" Rimaru shouted, more in shock then pain as he turned to look at who had just struck him. The slime's golden eyes bringing as he saw the kitsune, but also felt a bit scared as she looked down at him with a deathly serious look and held up two fingers.
"Two weeks, there's still a lot you forgot to mention, slime ball. Like the various games and cool prizes, the cute hair accessories, colorful masks and lanterns, not to mention crapes, cotton candy, and ice cream!" Kayo listed excitedly, her tails wagging behind her as she showed her excitement over the idea, shocking the room as she had joined in on Rimuru's excitement as he gasped. "WE HAVE ICE CREAM!?" he asked excitedly, his golden eyes lit up at the thought of the cool sweet treat as the kitsune smirked and nodded. "Of course, production just started today, though I think we may need more milk but I can call in a few favors when needed. I really want to try Takoyaki though but... we are a land locked nation." Kayo mentioned as Rimuru realized it and gasped as he realized the kitsune never had the delicious food he had always had at summer festivals growing up.
"My Lords, what is... Takoyaki?" Rigurd asked as the two leaders had lost their subordinates with what they had been talking about only to flinch as two pairs of wide golden eyes looked at him in shock. "Kayo, can you tell them about how a summer festival is like?" The slime asked as he had his back to the kitsune but then she wrapped her arms around him and set her head on top of his, contracting as she pulled from Rimuru's memories.
"How about I show them?" Kayo asked with a smirk as she showed everyone what a summer festival looked like from Rimuru's memories... only slightly edited to avoid questions.
~ 2 Weeks Later~
"This is gonna be so awesome~!" Kayo giggled happily as she was checking up on some last-minute preparations for the festival. Giggling as she saw the verity of masks, glad that they took her words and were offering more than just the simple Rimuru masks. There was mask of goblins, wolves, kitsune, oni, lizards, orcs, and even dragons to choose from. 'All that would have creeped the slime ball out. Plus verity is always good.' she giggled and checked on Gobtchi who was already making some of the Takoyaki or Octopus balls, the smell alone making the kitsune drool.
"Hey Gobichi, how are they coming along?" she asked eagerly as she watched them being cooked, gulping and trying not to drool too much, watching as he added the main ingredient to them and let them cook. It wasn't long before a they were put into a serving tray. "Aww~ those look so good~ Thanks." Kayo eagerly reached out for them but was shocked when the goblin pulled it away from her reach, shaking his head. "Apologies Lord Kayo, but Lord Rimuru gave us orders not to let you eat them." the goblin told her and handed them off to a familiar fox who smirked at his sister, Kayo had a look of utter shock and betrayal on her face.
"You should go see Shuna and the others, they dragged Lord Rimuru with them." Bruno mentioned, smirking as he was in a black short sleeved kimono top with a red sash and black pants like she and many other fire kitsune where wearing, his orangeish red hair being dyed black, chomping on the tempting snack as his sister glared at him. "Aren't you supposed to be guarding Abiru?" she hissed the kitsune, glaring harder at him as he ate another one in front of her. "I am, but he's having family time with Souka and her brother." the kitsune told her and looked over his shoulder for a bit but lifted the snack out of his sister's reach.
"F-father you didn't have to come all this way, what about the tribe? Won't they need your leadership?" Souka asked, blushing as she was a bit embarrassed to see her father. "Not to worry. Lord Kayo Invited me and suggested I spend a little time with both of you. You've grown up so fast my little one... I am so proud." Abiru told his daughter as he cupped her cheek, the dragonewt girl blushing but giving her father a smile and then hugging him.
"Now you, go get dressed. Carmen and Estella worked hard on your kimono thing." Bruno scolded his sister, not having let her take any of his snack as she pouted. "I'm already dressed! I don't need a kimono I told them that." Kayo argued as she tried to fight her brother's pushing but was curious what it looked like.
~Dressing Room~
"I just thought... big chests get in the way of dressing." Kayo entered just in time to hear Shuna say those words. She, Hanako, Shion, both her sisters and even Rimuru were dressed in beautiful yukatas that the kitsune found herself admiring until she heard the pink kijin repeat what she had said. "Big chests get in the way of dressing. Big chests get in the way of dressing. No other reason!" Shuna said cheerfully as she had her back to the Kitsune leader who looked down at her own chest that was a bit exposed thanks to her plump breasts.
"O-okay... Kayo. Your finally here. Come get dressed." Rimuru said as he greeted his sister, shocking Shuna as she covered her mouth looking worried as Kayo looked a bit disappointed. "I'm good, Rimuru. I wouldn't look as good as you do." She lightly teased back come closer to admire the cute Yukatas. "I'm so jealous, Shion. I could never wear something like these as an adult." Kayo praised sadly before her sister grabbed her. "No worries sis, we got you. Shuna made a special one for you since your so... curvy." Estella tried to encourage as Shuna had a folded crimson fabric in her hands. "Yes, I made this one extra special for you. You've told me so many times how lovely you found my work, I though you should try one on yourself at least once." the kijin princess reasoned as Kayo still looked unsure, glancing at Shion as Hanako helped loosen her obi wrapping.
"Hmm... okay, I'll try it on!" Kayo brightened up, excited and a little sad as she went into a changing room and had the help of the 3 girls who eagerly started to dress her up. The crimson yukata was decorated with black and white gold lined flowers that looked like roses, the obi was a light blue and went under her bust instead of over, showing off her wide hips and narrower waist. With the addition of a golden rope with a black kitsune charm attached, it showed off the kitsune's hourglass figure nicely. "Now a little lip gloss and to fix your hair a little, no ribbon this time~." Carmen said as she tried to get the odd ribbon out of her sister's hair only to yelp as it slapped her rather hard.
"It... it hit me!?" Carmen yelped in shock before Kayo pulled it out of her hair and shut it in a wooden box. "You're going into time out. Are you okay, Carmen?" Kayo scolded the demon for hitting her sister before making sure it didn't cause any other harm to her family. "Y-yes but-?" she was asking before Kayo pat her head with a smile. "Don't worry about it, what where you going to do to my hair?" Kayo asked her, curious before Shuna giggled and just pulled her hair back and brushed it a little. "Nothing, we are just going to leave it loose to frame your beautiful face, Kayo." The princess giggled, having another reason behind leaving Kayo's hair loose. The kitsune looked confused as her hair got in her face so she had to push it back, but not having any ears on the side of her head to hold them back made it difficult.
"You think... I should take on a different from?" Kayo asked unsurely as her hair was back in her face, Shuna and Carmen looked at each other unsurely before the princess smiled. "How about your Kijin form, Kayo?" she suggested and saw the kitsune's face go dark red. "Ah... maybe not. You did make that hole for my tails after all, it would be embarrassing to leave it there." Kayo reasoned, nervous as she could hear Lust giggling and encouraging her to take her kijin form.
'She's trying to set us up after all~.' Lust purred as Kayo was unsure how to feel about that realization.
"You could also get some new accessories form one of the vendors, they have some very pretty ones so it's going to be hard to choose." Carmen playfully suggested, as Kayo closed her eyes to try and not think of what her sister suggested. "Are we done here? I still feel odd dressed like this." Kayo admitted, as she looked down at the beautiful clothes. "Almost, you need to put on the stockings and sandles too." Shuna told her as she gave her some long black stockings that easily covered her legs up to mid-thigh with some rose pattern lace toping it off, Kayo marveled at the hidden slit in the yukata, appreciating the freedom of movement as well as the X shaped straps that kept the slit form going past her thigh, with the sandles being a simple white color.
"Are you done in there?" Rimuru asked, waiting for the girls to finish with Kayo, having seen the yukata Shuna had been making for his sister but only when it was open and spread apart. "Yup! Presenting~ Lady Kayo!" Shuna announced as Kayo showed the slime her yukata, Rimuru stared at her... speechless as he looked at this beautiful young woman that was his sister. "Rimuru?" Kayo called him and even poked the slime to get a response as he kept staring at her before he blinked and blushed, pulling away from her. "Holy cow! Your gorgeous! You're going to kill Benimaru and Souei with those looks!" He praised her with a smirk, Kayo blushed and looked away.
"I... I'm not wearing this to the festival... it's embarrassing." she muttered before she yelped form having her ass slapped by Shion. "S-shion!" Kayo hissed at the kijin woman who looked at her with sadness and anger. "It's not fair! Why did Lord Rimuru call you gorgeous!?" She complained as the two leaders sighed as the woman pouted. "I think you should wear it. I even got you something to match!" Rimuru told her excitedly, as she looked at him with confusion as he pulled out two small golden bells that were attached to some piercings. Kayos's golden eyes sparked with interest over the bells just as great sage had predicted.
"I know you like bells, so I thought these would look cute on you and they match your eyes." he told her as the kitsune smiled at him and even kissed his forehead, leaving behind a glossy pink mark there, the warmth form that alone made the slime blush. Kayo took the bells from him and replaced the black studs she was wearing. She moved her ears and made them giggling softly before she turned to the girls.
"So... How do I look?" she asked with a more confident smile as the other women where aww struck. Shuna and the kitsune sisters giggling at their completed work.
~Tempest Summer Festival~
"After much trial and error, I think we did a good job reproducing this. Kayo even provided the key ingredient we here missing." Shuna explained, Kayo letting the young kijin be their guide around the festival despite the kitsune having worked nearly every inch of it personally. They were back at the Takoyaki stall with Gobchi who made one order for the two leaders... or rather for Rimuru as Kayo pouted at being denied the yummy food again. "Then why can't I have some? I even kept Shion out of the kitchen." Kayo asked as Rimuru tried the octopus balls himself first. "Yum!" The Tempest leader shouted in great delight, even as Kayo glared at the enthused slime, crossing her arms under her chest and looking away.
"It actually has octopus in it! How did you get this!?" Rimuru asked as he enjoyed another of the tasty snack. "I took a mission to a seaside town North of here. They were having problems with a monster wrecking their boats, so I took care of the... little problem." Kayo smirked as she pulled out an orb of water from her tails... and from inside that water was a little black octopus with all 8 arms looking terrified with suddenly being pulled out.
"Huh? That thing? But..." Rimuru asked as he looked at the small creature, then at the amount of Takoyaki that was being made, Kayo noticed his confusion and chuckled, smirking evilly. "Don't worry, he can get much bigger than this. I just... shrunk him down so he's easier to feed and carry around. Oh! and don't worry, as long as he's fed well, he can regrow his limbs too." The kitsune pointed out happily, making the slime feel a little bad that he was eating a still living creature's body. "Don't worry about his feelings Rimuru. He killed and hurt a lot of people. He made a deal with me so he gets to live, eat, and have a home for just the cost of limbs he can just regrow any way!" Kayo supplied a little to happily before Rimuru held up one of the savory snacks up to her.
"Wanna try- Agh!" Rimuru yelped in shock as Kayo bit down on the offered snack quickly, almost taking the slimes fingers off as she was enjoying her first taste of Takoyaki. "NYAN~! It's so good~!" The kitsune gushed, wiggling as her tails wagged quickly behind her, making a loud and cute cat noise that amused Rimuru before he looked at a stunned Gobichi. "Another order of Takoyaki for my sister please! I just wanted to see her reaction to having it for the first time." Rimuru explained and Gobitchi nodded as he quickly had more ready for the kitsune leader who put away their main ingredient, having inked himself in fear of the ravenous Kitsune.
"Ahh~ soo good~. I'm so fucking glad I took that job!" Kayo gushed happily as she had her own to eat freely. Rimuru and Shuna watching her happily snacking away, letting her foul language slide after their slightly cruel treatment of her.
"Lord Rimuru! Shuna! There you are, already-" Benimaru called out to the two as he came over, dressed in his mostly black yukata that had a red bamboo pattern along his left side, a green belt holding it closed and Kayo's necklace was proudly displayed over his clothes. Once he was close enough the young man froze as his eyes locked was a single golden eye that belonged to his kitsune mate, as the other was hidden behind a curtain of her black, white tipped hair. His jaw dropped as he openly stared at the beautiful woman and had to be nugged by both his sister and Rimuru to snap him out of it.
"Do I look that weird?" Kayo asked, blushing as she looked away, trying to get her hair out of her face only to have it fall back again. "N-no! You look... beautiful Kayo, don't you have hair accessories? Or did you want to eat your hair?" Benimaru teased, smirking as Kayo had eaten some of her hair along with the hot snack. "No. Shuna thought I looked better with my hair loose." She told the crimson kijin as she gave Shuna a pointed look, the princess just gives her an innocent smile. Benimaru gulped and blushed as he made a note not to tell Shuna about what he liked about the kitsune woman. "It looks nice but it's troublesome. Maybe we can find you something that will help hold it back?" the kijin suggested, thinking of all the hair accessories he looked at to find something for his little sister at first.
"Sure, but this Takoyaki is fantastic~." Kayo praised as she held up the last of the little octopus' balls, Benimaru assumed she was going to feed it to him, as he bent down only to watch Kayo as she ate it instead. A smirk on her lips as she looked at him with her golden eye, the other concealed almost seductively behind her hair.
"You're a capable young man~. You can get your own and these are my first Takoyaki~." She teased him jokingly, not trying to seduce him as she noticed his face go a deep red. "R-right. One order of Kayoyaki." Benimaru asked, making Kayo giggle at his slip up. "Give the man some Takoyaki, Gobitchi. Oh! and another for me too please!" Kayo happily chirped as the goblin smiled and fulfilled their order, Benimaru looked away in a bit of embarrassment. Only looking back at Kayo as he felt her hand slip into his, their fingers interlacing.
Rimuru watched this with little interest, besides making sure Benimaru wasn't trying anything funny with his sister.
~Ice Cream vs Shaved Ice~
"This is my personal favorite! Shaved Ice!" Rimuru bounced happily over to the massive crowd that was gathered around two stalls. One offering the new creation called ice cream, while the other was offering up the beloved shaved ice many where familiar with. "Hmm, how about we try some ice cream for a change?" Kayo suggested, like many of the residence had thought to do. "Why are there so many around here?" Rimuru asked as the people let the leader pass as they saw the stall owners glare at each other head-to-head, The Blacksmith Kijin, Kurobe VS The Furry Orc, Boris.
"Kurobe! Boris! What's going on here?" Kayo asked in a commanding tone to break the two men up as they looked to the kitsune leader.
"This Pig is suggesting that this new treat is better than your beloved shaved ice, Lord Rimuru!" Kurobe told the slime and glared at Boris who huffed. "Boris?" Kayo questioned the Orc who took a moment to say a few words. "Your creations are second to none, Lord Kayo." he voiced sagely, as he had been right since both the syrup for the shaved ice and the ice cream were developed by her.
"Okay so... what's the problem? Everyone can just have both if they wanted to." Rimuru shrugged, confused why the two seemed to be fighting but both men looked at the slime in shock. "L-lord Rimuru! Surely, you're not suggesting that this chilled milk is better than shaved ice!" Kurobe asked, looking shocked and a bit heart broken. "N-no that's not what I'm saying at all. It's just that, well... ice cream is new to everyone so it worth it to try something new right?" The slime suggested weakly as Kurobe looked heart broken. "I see... so you two desire the things that are new and not the things that are constant and diligent." he muttered lowly, but Kayo picked up on and looked worried as she wrapped and arm around her shorter brother, coming up with an idea.
'I think Kurobe is taking this personally. How about we have a competition to drum up some business for both? You help Kurobe and I'll be with Boris.' Kayo suggested as the slime nodded, giving her a smile. 'I can always count on you Kayo.' He thought and went to Kurobe to encourage him, while Kayo smile at the strong silent Orc.
"Hey Boris, where's Yuki?" Kayo asked as she slipped into booth with the orc, who just showed her their product board. "Oh! Those are ready? Yuki works fast, let hope it lives up to my standards." She giggled and greeted the people who asked about the ice cream, and what it was and how it tasted. Kayo easily started moving her new creation as she also talked about toppings and different flavors.
Rimuru and Kurobe getting mostly those loyal to him to have shaved ice, Benimaru looking conflicted as Shuna handed him a shaved ice topped with the strawberry flavoring. "Big brother, it's okay to eat it. I'm sure Kayo won't be mad if you do." She teased her brother who blushed, as he took the offered treat before looking at the kitsune who was happily chatting with those who wanted to give ice cream a try, and then giving them something that looked strange but delicious.
"Come one! Come all! Have some nice refreshing shaved ice! You know it! You love it! Always reliable!" Rimuru shouted out to draw in more people but at some point, they ran out of ice. "Lord Rimuru, we need some more ice please!" Kurobe told the slime who had a great idea, serval buckets they used for the ice were spread out in front of them, insuring Shion, Suna and Benimaru had a front row seat to it all. "Alright! I'm on it!" He saluted to kijin and turned into his slime form, bounding around the buckets before hoping high into the air to do the magical attack he got thanks to the adventurer, Eren.
"Icicle Shot!" He shouted and right before everyone's eyes, large ice spikes appeared in the buckets that amazed everyone as they cheered and clapped at the little show that irked Kayo a little as many more people went to get shaved ice.
"Ah! Lord Kayo! Have you been helping out Boris? I'm so sorry but your ice cream is rather... popular?" Yuki arrived with a cart full of insulated boxes before he noticed people clamoring more for the shaved ice. "Did I miss something?" he asked the kitsune leader who only chuckled as she listened to what Benimaru had just asked about Rimuru's magical ice. Filling in the goblin and Orc on her next actions and plans that would benefit them.
"It's not going to freeze my guts, is it?" The Fire Kijin questioned worriedly as he looked down at his half-eaten treat, freezing as he looked up, locking eyes with Kayo who had her lone visible eye narrowed right at him before she started to walk over to him, he nervously looked away. "As long as it tastes good, who cares?" Shion brushed away the concern carelessly as she enjoyed the treat along with Shuna. "Right!" the young kijin agreed happily, much to the elder kijin's dismay before he smelled the sweet scent of persimmons and felt warm arms wrap around him from behind. "If your guts freeze, I can always warm them right up for you, Beni~." Kayo purred into his ear, her lips almost touching his pink tinted ears as he blushed from her actions, dropping the bowl of watery syrup that had quickly melted in his hands.
Kayo giggled and then kissed the Kijin's cheek before 'Taking the Stage', as Rimuru suggested the Rimuru Blue flavor syrup to the people... who took to it a little too well as the slime became unnerved with so many having on a slime mask. With a confident smirk on her lips as she switched out her sandles for white high heels that didn't make a single noise until she took a heavy step, that caught everyone's attention with the odd shock wave of power that followed.
"Not so fast Slime ball! You may have a simple summer classic, but it can only be enjoyed just a hand full of ways! While ice cream has many flavors to enjoy and many ways to make it pleasing to everyone." Kayo voiced loudly but wasn't shouting, before two light green vines appeared on either side of the ice cream stall as two Dryads appeared, dressed in dark green shorts and white blouses with light green aprons on, both carrying trays that held an assortment of popsicles. "Also we have a new product in various shapes and colors! Stars, Hearts, Flowers~, Kitsune paws and even little Slime balls like you~." Kayo nearly sang and picked one of the light blue treat that took on the shape of a mini Rimuru oddly well, as it even giggle with something hidden in the center. With more new products, the ice cream and popsicles sold out quickly with the help of the two cute Dyrads, Rimuru was pouting at his sibling's resourcefulness until they had run out.
"Does that mean... we win?" Rimuru asked, excited that the shaved Ice had won over the ice cream and other treats. "Yes, we admit defeat to the superiority of shaved ice." Kayo admitted with a smile as Rimuru and Kurobe cheered to their victory, Yuki looked confused as did the dryads. "This was a competition?" the goblin asked as Kayo giggled and gave him a soft smile. "Yes, and it seems we lost because of our limited stock but I guess now you have time to spend with Estella." Kayo mentioned with a knowing smirk as the goblin blushed and looked away nervously.
"Papa!" a little orcling called out as she hugged the leg of the large Orc, as he cleaned up the empty crates. "Papa!?" Rimuru and Kurobe questioned as they looked over at their defeated opponents, shocked that Boris was a father and a husband, and they didn't look upset from being defeated. "Hey Kayo. Why are you smiling? You lost." Rimuru asked as his kitsune sibling just pulled out a single Tempest Rose wrapped in light yellow paper with a red ribbon, handing it to the goblin Yuki, who nodded and left to meet up with the kitsune sister. "I have no idea what you're talking about." she shrugged and 'sneakily' handed the little orcling a Rimuru popsicle befor she and her parents where on their way to enjoy the rest of the summer festival.
"Wait... did you start this so those guys could-?" Rimuru asked, feeling like he had been used as it dawned on Kurobe as well... both males where single with little to no family... unlike their opponents.
"Still think ice cream is bad, Kurobe?" Kayo asked as she offered the kijin a dark purple popsicle the kijin took unsurely. "I guess I shouldn't have tried to go against you, Lady Kayo." He mussed and tied the treat, only to be amazed as he tasted the black berries and creamy inside. "How did you know?" the kijin asked, a bit shocked the kitsune knew what flavor he liked, only giving him a knowing smile.
"Wanna try being a cannable, slime ball~?" Kayo teased as she offered him one of the Rimuru Ice creams, the slime took it, more curious as he bit into the jiggly blue outer layer and looked shocked. "Is this jelly and Ice cream?!" he asked ask Kayo offered them to the other Kijin. "A bit, it was difficult to make something giggly that would hold its shape." She told him as Shuna and Shion blushed as they enjoyed their treats, Benimaru preferring to enjoy the strawberry cream popsicle.
~Later~
"What a pain." Kayo sighed as she bushed her hair out of her face again as she walked around the festival alone with Benimaru, Shuna's idea of course, having split up so Kayo could look for a hair accessory. "What happened to that ribbon you're always wearing?" Benimaru asked, curious but glad it was missing, as its origins unsettled the kijin. "I put it away, it was being troublesome. Oh! These look pretty." Kayo got distracted as she came up to one stall where she saw some hair accessories that glittered beautifully, a Maneki-Kayo also helping to attract customers.
"Anything you like miss? I've got a range of hair accessories that will help show that beautiful face of yours." The stall owner, a bird like creature, flirted with Kayo as she looked at all the shiny things, using her Crafter's Eye to find a good Quilty one. "They look very pretty, but kinda fragile." she told the owner, ignoring his flirting. "Just like the beauties who wear them. There is no need to make them stronger as long as they look pretty." The owner told her with an amused smile as Kayo turned away from the wears. "Let's keep looking, I rather have something that won't break if I have to stab someone with it." Kayo told the crimson kijin who was glaring at the stall owner who felt an odd chill run threw his body. As the two walked away and the flirty bird lost sight of them, that the owner noticed the little good luck idol he had to attract customers, had broken to small pieces and no one was looking at his wears because of the this bad omen.
"Lord Kayo!" Dord called out loudly, catching the Kitsune's attention easily to his own stall that also had a Maneki-Kayo simply displayed with a little bowl of colorful marbles before it. "Hey Dord. Thanks for all your hard work, everything looks great!" Kayo praised as she pushed her hair out of her face again, her tails waging at she talked to the dwarf, Benimaru beside her as his eyes caught on to a hair accessory that was on display. "I'm so glad you like it! Seems you're having a bit of a problem with your hair; see anything you like? I'll give it to you, on me." the dwarf gave a wink, smirking under his beard as Benimaru picked up the golden hair pin and showed it to Kayo. "How about this?" he suggested, blushing as Kayo leaned into his side to look at it. The stick itself was made of pearlescent magisteal, with a small round hole at one end and a rather sharp looking point, while in the middle was some red string that held a fire like rose flower, with a glittering red gem at its center, two ends of the string dangling with some pink marbles at the ends.
"So pretty~. Shuna was right to let you pick something out for me." Kayo mussed, giggling as the kijin blushed when he saw the dwarf give him a thumbs up, having been partly responsible for the accessory standing out so much. Kayo took it from him and fixed her hair carefully before slipping in the weapon/hair accessory in. "How does it look?" Kayo asked, beaming as she was glad to have her hair up again and out of her face, only to notice both males and some other attendees nearby staring at her.
"Beautiful." Benimaru breathed out with a soft smile as he saw Kayo blush cutely from his comment.
~Games~
"What the hell is that?" Kayo questioned as she and Benimaru had gone to the games section of the festival for some fun. Only for the kitsune to see one of the top prizes was not only a scale model of her slime brother but... "We also have cuddly body pillows of our beautiful Kitsune leader, in both humanoid and beast mode! Try your luck at-" One of the goblins running the stall was calling out before he felt the kitsune's eyes lock on to him as the word got caught in his throat before a Kuni was sent flying through the crowd at one of the smaller prizes and then a boom as it embedded into the wooden statue of Gabiru.
"Well done Master Souei. You haven't missed a shot." Souka praised the ninja Kijin as her father looked impressed with his skills but Bruno snickered. "Nope, he missed my sister's body pillow. Right Blue?" the kitsune teased with a confident smirk even at the kijin glared at him. "H-hey don't throw real weapons at our prizes! Here you can have this! Please leave now!" The goblin running the stall came up to Souei, looking scared as Kayo had just approached the both and took one of the toy pistols that they were using for the game.
"Stop teasing him, Bruno. Only I'm allowed to do that." Kayo approached the group with Benimaru and the pop gun on her shoulder. Souka tensing as she noticed Souei hand the wooden statue of her brother other to Benimaru, taking out the kuni before burring it to ash with his flames. Both father and daughter looked a bit concerned even as their kitsune guard huffed a chuckle.
"What did he do to piss them off?" he muttered as Kayo shook her head and glared at the stall.
"Insinuating he had a place in my harem." she said bluntly as the lizard Chieftain stiffened at the idea of having his son marry the Tempest leader. Only to rethink it as the woman aimed at the game booth with the single weapon and fired. There was another small boom before all prizes were knocked off the shelves and the goblins shook with fear at what the kitsune had just done.
"Aww no fair~ sis. I'm sure there where a lot of guys hoping to get those body pillows too~." Bruno chuckle as he looked at the two kijins who were shocked at what their mate had just done. "I don't care, I didn't authorize my image being used like that." the kitsune hissed, blushing as the body pillows had been rather... seductive.
"H-here are your prizes, Lord Kayo. W-we're sorry, we won't do it again!" the goblins handed over the prizes to her as she smiled confidently, besides the body pillows, Kayo only took the Benimaru statue and the life sized Rimuru. "Now. Be good boys and hand out the rest will you." Kayo told them, as she cuddles the squishy Rimuru plush happily, even giving a cute mew as she nuzzled it.
Souei gave a small smile and Souka noticed it, her heart breaking a little as her master went up to the kitsune and slipped a cute throwing star hair clip into her hair that had slipped out of her bun. Abiru noticed this and placed a hand on his daughter's shoulder for comfort. "Give up little newt~. You're not taking him from her, once you mate with a kitsune, you can never go back, at least not alive any way." Bruno joked only to receive a 'hard' punch from the female dragonewt, besides making a loud cracking noise, the male kitsune looked concerned as Souka held her injured hand close to her body, not having known the guard was still wearing armor.

"This has been so much fun~." Kayo sighed as she sat down at a bench that seem to suddenly appear when she needed it. Relaxing as the two Kijins joined her on either side, leaning on Souei for the moment as she relaxed form the bon dance they had just done, after playing more games and trying more food from other vendors to enjoy themselves. "Are you not going to join Lord Rimuru in the float?" Benimaru asked her as he had seen his sister and Shion accompany the slime leader to a massive paper Rimuru float.
"Yes, I'm fine. I hate all that waving and smiling crap any way. I do enough of that in Dwargon." Kayo admitted feeling a little sleepy as she yawned cutely, closing her eyes as she fell into a blissful daze with her tails lightly wrapping around both Kijins hips. "You work too hard." Souei told her but kissed her head as her ears flicked and the bell earrings jingled. "Maybe, but it's worth it. Everyone had so much fun together." she mussed as she got the images of her foxes participating in the festival by entertaining as well as protecting everyone to ensure a good time.
"Lord Rimuru!" Kayo opened her eyes and watched as a large paper Rimuru was pulled past, the float pulled by a team of strong goblins as Rimuru and the two kijin females where on top of the float, Shuna and Rimuru waving at everyone while Shion looked like she was enjoying the suffering of the goblins...
Notice: Shion is attempting to acquire Purple Empress, Rimuru has requested for the halt of the acquisition.
Kayo sat up, confused as she heard Great Sage inform her of her brother's request, unsure why it was talking to her, looking up she sighed before connecting to her eldest brother's mind. "Antony, hold out your arms." She spoke out loud for her eldest brother who was confused but did as his sister asked... once the float was moving past the confused kitsune, Shion 'slipped' and tumbled out of the float and into the confused kitsune's arms safely. 'Done.' The kitsune smirked and giggled as she saw both her brother's and Shion's faces go red. Shuna and Rimuru looking down at them, shocked at what had just happened. Benimaru and Souei where confused and looked at Kayo as she gave them an innocent look. "Wasn't me~." she informed them, getting up to grab a drink and then check in at the first aid station who had delt with a few injuries already.
"Don't you want to see the fireworks?" Benimaru asked, looking at the kitsune worriedly as she nearly chugged the strange whiteish brown drink a kitsune vender had given her. "Hmm, you guys go ahead. I still have one more thing to take care of, and no you can't help me with it. I'll catch up in a bit." Kayo told them and shooed both kijin's away as she headed for the ladies' washroom, only to throw the two males off of following her anymore.
~Ladies' Washroom~
"How many are there?" Kayo asked as she pulled the two hair accessories from her hair carefully, handing them to Estella who had a special box for them and the yukata as the Kitsune Lord undressed quickly. Exposing a tight black tank top and tight black legless shorts she had under them. "10 children and 30 adults." She told her sister looking worried as the black kitsune growled at the numbers. "Filthy humans. What are they doing with so many children so deep in the forest? Frame monsters for killing them?" Kayo hissed, confused why children had been gathered as she had a bad feeling in her gut, slipping on the black guard uniform she had the other kitsune on shadow security as her sister gathered her hair into a ponytail and... cut it off so now her sister's hair was short.
"Are you sure about this? What if they notice?" Estella asked, worried for her sister as she looked at her now short hair with a frown. "They won't, I can re grow my hair back to length once this is taken care of. The explosions should cover up the sounds of our attacks." She explained before taking the hair form her sister and burning it. "Let's move. I don't want a single drop innocent children's blood in MY forest." Kayo hissed as she slipped on her black and gold fox mask along with a black hood to hide her identity more as she slipped into the shadows to deal with the humans and their child sacrifices.
Unaware to most of Tempest, their kitsune leader dealt with a sinister force, while they marveled at the colors of the loud and bright fireworks... unaware that the same substances used in them, was protecting them from the human threat, as well as the innocent children that had been sold to a fuel an unneeded conflict.
