I Got Reincarnated! - Kitsune Chronicles

~Extra Chapter~ Season's Greetings: Winter Memories

It was still twilight over the Great Jura Forest, many of its inhabitances sleeping peacefully as the snow had piled up high during the night, the residences of both Rimuru City and Kayo Village all warm in their homes, a few waking up to prepare for the day before-

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

A loud, horror filled scream blasted all threw out Rimuru City, awakening those that weren't already up and out of their beds. A few drawing their weapons and trying to find the source of the noise or whatever danger was near...

Only there was no danger...

Benimaru and Souei shared at look with each other, weapons drawn even while they were only half dressed in some pants, they looked to a fully dressed Hakuro who seemed rather aggravated from being woken and a drozy, half-naked Shion in only her cream-colored blouse, her sword drawn ready to fight whatever had caused that scream... all four kijin having had gathered in the sibling's living room where they found nothing wrong despite the loud scream, but there was something cooking in the kitchen.

"W-what was that scream?" Shuna came out and asked, looking worried as she had been suddenly awakened like the rest of them. "Shuna? Where you not up making breakfast?" Benimaru questioned his sister, confused as Shuna was still wearing her horn caps and hugging her Kayo plush.

"No. That scream woke me up. Was it Kayo? Is she alright?" The kijin princess asked worriedly, they didn't see or sense the kitsune any were. "Oh!? Did Master Benimaru keep her here all night again?" Shion asked, smirking as she teased the kijin leader who sheathed his sword, trying not to blush. Shuna went to the kitchen to see what had happened; someone having prepared a large number of pancakes, a strange amber bottle of goo sitting innocently on the counter, and freshly cut fruits that had been prepared for the kijins' breakfast.

~Kayo's Hideaway~

"Come on sis. It's not that bad, it's completely natural." Antony tried to assured his Lord/Sister as she was curled up, hidden under the pink Sakura blanket she liked on her bed. A muffled voice reached the larger kitsune's ears, making him sigh. "You don't look old; you look like fluffy snow." he teased but got a glare from a golden eye that peeked out from under the blanket. "Come on. You scared all of Rimuru City awake with your screaming. You should at least come with us to help them clear the snow." he advised but his sister was culled under the blanket, scared and embarrassed of her appearance. "Don't you want to help them clear it out? It was easy for us but the city is really big and open. I'm sure if you wear different clothes or just use your fox form no one would even be able to tell it's you." he reasoned, brushing back his mane of snow-white and silver hair.

"Is something wrong?" Souei asked, startling the Fire kitsune leader who jumped at his sudden entrance. "Oi! Put a bell on! Or at least knock!" he scolded the kijin, who ignored him as he waked over to the hiding kitsune, reaching for the blanket to get a firm grasp before flicking it into the air to unravel the kitsune hiding inside.

"Agh! Souei!" Kayo yelled, in her fox form pressing against the wall next to the bed. Shaking as she lay still under the ninja's surprised gaze.

Kayo's fox form was bigger, looking about the size of a large adult fox, her fur was now a strange sliver and pearlescent white that shifted colors even when she barely moved. Her fur having a bit of curl to it as it had gotten longer as well as thicker, with the addition of her multiple tails it was making her look almost like a little cloud, if not for the pink paws and golden eyes that looked back at him with worry. Her ears pinned back as she awaited his reaction to her new appearance fearfully.

"See, it's not so bad sis. You look even cuter. Right Souei?" Anthony asked, using the kijin's proper name to try and assure his sister who looked ready to cry before Souei picked her up by the scruff before cradling her in his arms. Kayo blinked in confusion, her body stiffing for a moment before relaxing... trusting the kijin as she felt his nimble fingers run over her skull slowly. "You're too soft... I could have killed you with just a bit more force." he voiced softly but could feel the enraged stare of the eldest kitsune sibling on him.

"I trust you, Souei." Kayo mewed as he stroked her from her head down her neck and back, only stopping at the base of her tails before starting at her head again, finding a bit of joy in petting such a soft fluffy fox. Kayo letting him as she was enjoying the petting, Souei's scent and steadily beating heart where wonderful things to calm her down.

"I'm... going to gather up volunteers to help dig out the city. Join when you can then." he sighed and left the two alone to their intimate time.

~Later~

"Having fun?" Souei asked, smirking as he watched Kayo's wiggling tails and hind quarters sticking out from the snow, the two taking a steady walk to the monster city instead of just instantly getting there via shadows. The kitsune leader quickly popping the rest of her body out of the snow, looking embarrassed as she still had snow on her nose and head. "M-maybe." Kayo responded, blushing under her fur as she padded across the snow easily, her fluffy paws helping her stay above the soft deep snow, in addition to the Kitsune Skill: Soft Step she left no paw prints behind, something Souei was slightly jealous of as his boots still left light imprints in the snow. Even if they could both use shadow step to get to the city in an instant, the kitsune had asked to a walk there... together.

"I've never seen snow fall before, is this normal?" Kayo questioned, giggling and pranced ahead of the kijin. Once in a while stopping and crouching, her attention on a pile of snow as she wiggled her butt before pouncing headfirst into the white power, burring half her body in it, a single tail up and waving like a flag in the air with excitement. Souei found it amusing as the kitsune popped back out of the snow, a frightened fat field mouse in her jaws, that was quickly released as Kayo saw her ninja mate stare at her.

She looked away; embarrassed by her fox instincts.

"Your... not going to tell anyone about this... right?" she asked, golden eyes looking up at him pleadingly. He only gave an amused smile, hidden by the scarf she had given him, moving on towards the city. "Souei!" Kayo yelled pleadingly, hopping around to quickly catch up to the kijin and his long strides.

~Rimuru City~

"Wow... this is... a lot." Kayo voiced as she trotted threw the tunnels her foxes had dug out through the thick, deep snow, just to get around the city to do their duties. The tunnels were only wide enough to allow two foxes to pass through easily, so the kitsune leader had to part with her ninja mate as she headed for the admirative building using the snowy fox tunnels.

"Good morning, Lord Kayo! Your winter coat has come in beautifully!" bellowed a kind earth fox, his fur also having become a white sliverish color for the season, Kayo was a little started she was recognized but nodded to the guard fox.

"T-thanks, can you let me know when Antony comes with the volunteers? I don't think Rimuru has a good plan for clearing all this snow." she questioned, and the fox nodded his head. "Yes, my lord. There are tunnels just about everywhere, but we have yet to make one that goes directly to the admirative building." he informed her, and Kayo nodded. "Thank you. I will handle it myself but it's going to be the first to be cleared of snow any way." she told him and trotted off in the direction of her office, a mental map of Rimuru city burned into her soul. Despite the thick layers of snow around her, Kayo only felt the cold in her unprotected paws as they touched the chilled pavement, her black claws making a light clacking noise as she trotted her way through the tunnel. Greeting a few kitsune that crossed her path, it didn't take her long to reach where the assembly building was.

"Wow. It usually takes me a lot longer to get here, but I guess being offered food along the way makes a difference." she muttered, kinda disappointed that the snowfall kept her from getting her normal morning offerings.

"Hmm, I wonder if I could slip some of this into my void space. Then I could have snow whenever I want." Kayo yipped as she charged into the wall of snow headfirst and started digging excitedly, scooping the loose snow into her tails to make a fox tunnel to the building's doorway. "There we go, now I can get inside and start working... or maybe..." Kayo turned back to the snow and then glanced at the doorway that had enough clearance for a humanoid monster to pass through. "Just a bit longer, work will always be there, but not this snow!" she cheered gleefully and pounced back into the cold white stuff, partly digging random tunnels and storing the white stuff in her tails to play with later.

While digging around the building she stopped when her paw touched something that felt like ice,

"Huh? What's this? Did a pipe burst?" Kayo blinked in confusion as she pawed at the strange thing, grateful for her night vision as she could see a light blue thing buried in the snow.

"Hi~." suddenly came a familiar voice that startled the kitsune.

"S-Satoru!? What are you doing buried in the snow?" Kayo questioned, using the Slime's human name in her shock as she dug him out, wrapping her tails around him to get back into his normal squishy state. "I wanted to dive into the fresh snow before anyone stepped on it but... it was deeper than I thought. Thanks for digging me out, Kayo." Rimuru responded in relief, having been scared as it seemed like he kept falling deeper and deeper into the snow. His body riveting back to his slime form at some point and the surface of his body quickly freezing, almost making him a frozen slime until Kayo...

The slime looked at the fluffy white kitsune or her worried golden eyes as her fur helped her blend in with the snow a little too well. "Wow~ Kayo is that really you? You look pretty!" Rimuru praised honestly, a bit surprised at the drastic color changes.

Notice: Kayo Tempest has grown out a Pearlescent Winter Coat and has advanced in her physical age.

Great Sage informed him, Rimuru relaxed in Kayo's tails as he could move again, noting the last part as his 'little' sister... seemed older than before, but he wished he could see what a pearlescent coat looked like.

"I understand the feeling. It's kinda fun to plop into." Kayo mussed before she checked her mental map in confusion. "Wait... where did you jump from?" she asked, as they were at the back of the assembly building and too far away from the back door... but right above them, on the 2nd floor was Rimuru's office. "YOU JUMPED FROM THE 2nd FLOOR!?" Kayo yelled at the slime who only chuckled nervously as the fox looked around panicked. "D-did you splash or shatter? Are there more pieces of you everywhere!? That's dangerous even if you are a slime!" Kayo scolded him as he smuggled into her fur, giggling as he was completely covered in it, she was so fluffy!

Would you like to take on Kitsune form? Notice: You will also have a thick winter coat.

'Yes!' Rimuru responded as his slime body changed into that of a little light blue fox with stripes of sliver and white, golden eyes blinking in wonder as he could see clearly now in the darkness. Nothing but white with an odd shimmer of random color as Kayo removed her tails from him, looking at him with worry.

"Wow~ I can see why they hunt foxes now. Your coat is so soft, warm and beautiful~." Rimuru tried to praise her, but the Kitsune only cringed at his attempt. "That's not a good thing, slime ball. Come on let's get you some place safer then here." she reasoned as she picked the blue fox up by his scruff an carried him to the front. Pouting the little blue puff ball examined himself and couldn't help but let out a happy little yip.

"I look so cute! And the paws! The warm fur! I look so adorable!" he giggled happily as he let Kayo carry him like a baby fox, only he started to notice lots of other tunnels around the yard.

"Did you have fun digging in the snow too~?" he asked with a knowing smirk before his kitsune sister set him down. "Yes, but I think it's time we got to work. The snow is thick and covering up every street in the city, many can't even leave their homes or get to work because of how much there is." Kayo informed him as she opened the doors with her tails, Rimuru slipping inside first, followed by the stunningly white kitsune.

"Right, so got any ideas Kayo? What's the plan for removing all this snow?" Rimuru asked as her tried to go up the stairs, while still being a kitsune kit. "Um... I don't have any." the woman admitted as she watched Rimuru slowly climb up the steps while in his kitsune fox form, only to look back at her in shock. "What!? The Brillant Kayo Tempest doesn't have a plan for snow removal?" he asked, partly joking but also worried... having trusted her with having a good plan for winter.

"No. This is my first time ever seeing snow in person. I've only ever delt with ice before, but even then, it was at some manmade ice rinks." She admitted to him and sounded a little sad as she grew to the size of a small car and went up the few stairs easily catching up to the blue fox kit. Picking him up and carrying him back to his office. "Ice Rinks? Do you know how to ice skate?" Rimuru questioned as he was carried again, having read something about ice skating in the copy of her journal, it contained much more than just her fantasies with Benimaru, Souei, and others who caught her interest.

Kayo was quiet on the rest of the way to his office, setting him down at the door. Looking up Rimuru could see his sister was debating on talking about something before the doors to his office slit apart, a counter Milim measure after she broke them for the 5th time. "Oh!? Hello, what do we have here?" Shuna greeted, a bit surprised to see a large white fluffy cloud of a fox and a cute little blue kit. Her pink eyes sparkled as she reached out for the large white fox with the color shifting fur. "May I pet you?" she asked softly, looking excited as Kayo glanced at Rimuru before looking back at Shuna, nodding to give her permission, but not give her identity away.

The pink kijin giggled and happily started petting the fox, gasping at how soft the white fur was before her hand sunk in past her wrist just to touch the warm body of the kitsune underneath. Kayo jumped at feeling how cold Shuna's hands where, before the young girl sunk her other hand and her face into her body, half disappearing into the fluff.

"Kayo, you feel so cozy~." Shuna praised the kitsune leader who stiffened as she was quickly caught, mostly because of her spicy sweet persimmon scent was unmistakable so close to the Kijin princess's nose.

"Hey! What about me, Shuna?" Rimuru asked, pawing at Shuna's leg, amazed at how big she looked while he was in his kit form.

"Lord Rimuru!? You look so adorable." she laughed and gently picked up the little blue kit, petting him between his ears making him coo cutely as he nuzzled into her small chest, Kayo giving the little fox a stern look making him freeze.

"Don't you have some work to do, Rimuru?" Kayo asked, mentally trying to cobble a plan together for the snow removal. "R-right! Let's get to it, Shuna." Rimuru stuttered as he went back into his slime form, bouncing into his office where Shion had placed his load of work for the day. Kayo was going to work in her office to handle her own load before she felt Shuna hug her again.

"Lady Shuna? Why are you hugging that fox?" Shion questioned as she noticed the fluffy white fox, her purple eyes sparking with interest before she just hugged the strange fox and enjoyed the warmth of soft fluffiness. Kayo's ears dropping as she looked to the slime for some help, but he only looked on in amusement as his sister was used as the kijin girls' personal heater.

~Kayo's Office~

"Wait! this is a heavy snow fall aera? No one told me this!" Rimuru complained.

Kayo looked up from her work to give the slime an annoyed glare from where she lay on the couch, wrapped around Shuna and Shion who were helping both their leaders with their work. Rimuru tried to ignore it as he sat at her window, overlooking the snow-covered city, only a few pathways had been cleared thanks to Rigurd and a few others taking the incitive.

"We'll have to shovel the snow to get any work done." Rimuru mentioned as he was confused why Kayo was still in her fox form doing work, her tails moving the wooden tablets they used for documents and stamping them with her seal grasped with her tails. The only thing she didn't do was drink the hot coco Shuna had made, marshmallow Rimurus still intact as the heat rose off the pink, purple, light blue and black mugs.

"Yes, the Forest of Jura is well known for its unstable climate." Shuna voiced worriedly; both leaders taking her word for it since she had lived in the forest longer than they had been alive in this life.

"What's wrong with that? I love snow." Shion questioned, smiling as she remembered her childhood. Because Kayo was curled around her, the kitsune leader could clearly see the memory of a small purple oni child running through the snow, only dressed in what looked like a raggedy potato sack and nothing else. Happily running through the snow, snot coming out of her nose with a stick in her hand as she laughed like she didn't have a care in the world. "When I was little... I ran around Half Naked all the time, even when it was snowing. Surprising I know." Shion remembered fondly as Kayo wrapped another tail around the woman and brought her mug closer to her. "Drink it before it gets cold." Kayo advised, trying not to pry more... she had so many questions for the purple kijin about her childhood, it was a growing concern for the kitsune leader.

"Oh! Thank you, Lady Kayo. Your always so kind and thoughtful." Shion gushed as she took the mug from her tail, giggling as she welcomed the warm fluffy tails around her. Taking a sip of the delicious, sweet drink, the marshmallow Rimuru touching her lips, almost like it was giving her a kiss.

"Yeah, I knew a dumb kid like that in grade school. I can see him now." Rimuru mussed and started chuckling and so did Shion. "It's no laughing matter!" Shion scolded them both, making the two grow quite as they looked at her in confusion, but Rimuru saw Kayo glaring rather sternly at him. "You nearly froze to death once when you ended up buried in snow!" Shuna scolded Shion who pouted at being scolded by the younger kijin again.

"Yes, but... I can't resist diving into fresh, untouched snow! Right! Right! Right!?" Shion tried to defend her decision but Kayo and Shuna both sighed at the same time in exhaustion. This did not help Kayo's worry for the purple Kijin go away, the kitsune letting out a soft whine as she stared longingly at her cup of hot chocolate.

"Kayo, why aren't you transforming to drink your coco?" Shuna asked, having noticed the kitsune not having taken a humanoid form. It was already kinda rare to see the Tempest leader in her fox form but... Shuna wasn't complaining to much, stoking the soft white fur on Kayo's head, watching it shimmer with faint color.

Before Kayo could respond, the window Rimuru was in front of suddenly opened. "I'm back!" Milim announced proudly, Kayo thankful for the distraction, not wanting to revile what had happen earlier that morning, Shuna's attention was on the Demon Lord Milim but...

"FLUFFY!" Milim shouted gleefully as she jumped on top of Kayo, making her yelp more from shock then pain, the little Demon Lord buried herself in the plush white fur of the kitsune leader. "Sissy is so fluffy and warm~!" Milim giggled happily so the kitsune didn't have the heart to stop her... even if she could. Picking up her black mug with her tail she offered it to the dragonoid who took it curiously, amazed by the bobbing white Rimuru at the center. "Dink it before it gets cold, Lady Milim. I'm sure your very cold after coming all this way." Shuna told her with a soft smile but was worried when Kayo gave the girl the mug meant for her.

~Later, Assembly Building, Outside~

"Fluffy~! Fluffy~! Fluffy~!" Milm happily giggled, preoccupied with hugging the oversized Kayo, who had grown in size to help clear away the snow that was around the assembly building. Carefully melting it away with her fox fire but the kitsune was finding it difficult to maintain it for several reasons. A large group of orcs, goblins and even kitsune where present in the cleared space, but the foxes were dressed like it was a warm summer day in the same sandles Kayo was fond of. They of course looked strange in their humanoid forms, their hair having turned various shades of white and sliver but conversed easily with the other monsters before Rimuru hopped on top of a crate Kayo provided as a makeshift podium.

"Thank you for coming. As many of you can see we got a lot of snow covering our fair city. While it's pretty and fun, we need to remove it so our people can leave their homes and get to work safely and easily." Rimuru recited the makeshift speech he and Kayo had come up with wile making a plan for the snow removal. The kitsune lord projecting a simplified outline of the city with some deep red lines to contrast against the snow and sky. It amazed those who were not used to the Kitsune Leader's skill of illusions, mostly the human who had gotten 'trapped' in the monster city due to the snow.

Their attention on the projected plan as Rimuru explained it: The orcs would do a bulk of the work pushing sections of snow to create a pathway already marked by the kitsune's tunnels along the main roads, while the goblins and Volunteers from Kayo village would help the goblins make pathways from homes and businesses as well as get rid of any dangerous ice or snow.

"Of course, all this snow will have to go somewhere. While we will have most of it melted into steam by the fire foxes, the rest will be put to use in the Entertaiment district for those who want to have a little fun." Rimuru explained with an excited grin, having liked their plan when Kayo's ear's twitched and she glanced in the direction of the noise of jingling bells. It wasn't long before 3 horse size white foxes were seen pulling some wooden sleds across the snow, silver bells lining the harnesses that had them pulling the carts along with a small group of kitsune running a head of them. Only, what caught many of their attention was the alluring pointy eared beauties in the sleds the foxes where pulling.

"E-elves!?" Rimuru questioned in shock, his face turning pink as the foxes stopped and let the elves disembark. "Kayo! You didn't tell me Elves would be coming!" Rimuru yelled at the large white fox that everyone knew for sure, was their Kitsune leader. "They volunteered to help, and it's not just elves, slime ball." Kayo pointed out, little annoyed that the fairies and her other foxes seemed to be overlooked. A familiar fairy dressed in a fluff lined green coat and warm boots, fluttered over to the slime leader with a big smile

"Lord Rimuru I hope you don't mind us helping! When Lord Antony asked for volunteers, we just couldn't help ourselves!" Bell giggled, looking excited as she held out her little hand. "I'm Bell, the leader of these fairies Lord Kayo has gathered. What will you have us do? I know we are not very strong but I'm sure we can help somehow." Bell chimed eagerly as a few dozen fairies fluttered around, eagerly greeting the stunted monsters and humans, the elves also shyly greeting the monsters with the help of the friendly kitsunes, their numbers easily doubling.

"I'm sure you could help in the kitchen, right Shuna?" Kayo voiced softly, looking down at one of the two pink spots on her fur, Shuna popping her head out from the warm fur. "Of course, Kayo. It will be a delight." the pink kijin frowned a little as she had to step out of the warm soft fur into the cold winter air, some of the cute fairies fluttering after her.

"The rest of you can serve as our eyes in the sky to check the progress or for any problems." Kayo suggested and the other fairies beamed in agreement. The 2nd pink spot on Kayo's fur popped out and showed a stunned Milim, looking at all the fairies.

"Are those Fairies?!" the little demon lord asked excitedly, she came out of Kayo's fur to try and play with the terrified little creatures. Next was the purple spot to pop out a pouting Shion. "Lady Milim, don't pick on the weak." she scolded the girl, sad leaving Kayo's warm fur to try and stop the demon lord who chased after the scared creatures. "Are they going to be, okay?" Rimuru asked, looking up at Kayo who seemed relived not to have the girls in her fur anymore. "Yeah. Avalon, are you brought up to date on the plan?" Kayo asked, turning to the white-haired blue-eyed elf who gave her a smile, dressed in a warm blue and black fur lined coat. "Yes, Lord Kayo. It's a great pleasure to do anything for you and Lord Rimuru." the elf voiced softly, enchanting the humanoid slime with their beaming smile.

"So pretty~." Rimuru praised, making the elf blush and ears wiggle cutely. Kayo couldn't help but smirk as she thought at the slime to get him to save him from the trap.

'Avalon is a guy, Satoru~.'

Quickly the slime leader reigned his composure and cleared his throat. "Y-yes, Thanks for the help. Oh! One more thing everyone!" He shouted with a big smile on his faces as they all looked to their slime leader in confusion. "Evey campaign needs a mascot, so~..." he looked at Kayo and happily gestured to the fluffy kitsune who panicked in realization of what he was doing. "Kayo will be the Mascot for our Snow Clearing Campaign!" He announced to a roar of excited applause of approval of this decision.

'I hate you!' Kayo mentally though at the slime who laughed as she growled. "Alright let's get to work everyone. The snow won't clear itself and I would like for everyone to be able to safely leave their homes and be able to work." the kitsune leader ordered, everyone disbursed to their assigned aeras, save for the humans who came up to the two Tempest leaders.

"Hey Youm! I hope you're ready to shovel snow with us. Wanna hit the hot springs later? It will be my treat!" Rimuru asked as he waved to the human champion who had been stunned just like his companions at seeing the large building sized white fox with color changing fur, never mind when she spoke!

"Wait just a sec, Master Rimuru." the human addressed the slime respectfully, a little unnerved by the giant kitsune's stare. "I agreed to be a champion, but I'm not gonna be your handy man. You already had us join your fire awareness campaign and attend those weird fire safety classes." Youm explained but the young mage Rommel walked up to the massive fluff ball excitedly.

"L-lord Kayo? It that really you?" he asked and flinched as her golden eyes looked down at him. "Yes, what do you need?" she asked, sounding a little annoyed but not with the human. "Um... m-may I... please feel your fur?" he asked her nervously. "It's perfectly fine if you don't want me to! You just look so fluffy!" he reasoned, and Kayo groaned at his request. "Go ahead, but then you will have to work extra hard clearing the snow." she told him, and the mage looked like a little kid given the best gift on Christmas. Nearly tacking her front paw as he became a black spot in her fur, Youm and his right-hand man looked on in shock when the young mage disappeared into the fluff.

"Hey um... can I?" The bald man asked nervously and Youm and Rimuru looked at him in shock.

"Work extra hard in clearing the snow." Kayo repeated before letting the man happily walk into the soft warm fur. Youm watching him cuddle the fox in shock and looking away with a scoff, but he was a little tempted to touch the soft looking fluff. "Making you the mascot was a good idea huh?" Rimuru asked, very amused even as Kayo glared down at him, feeling a few more happily take advantage of her offer as they lay on her back for the added warmth.

"You picked a very cute mascot, Lord Rimuru." Benimaru mussed as he recognized his kitsune mate, returning the complement she had given him before with a smirk. Kayo's fur bristled in delight as her face turned pink from her embarrassment, her pearlescent fur only highlighting it. "Oh! Much cuter~. I even made a poster!" Rimuru joked but ended up pulling out a cute poster of Kayo in her fox form wrapped around Shuna and Shion, keeping them warm as Shion held her mug, both kijin smiling as the phrase 'Let it snow!' was written above them.

"Oh! That is cute~." Benimaru admitted honestly as Rimuru have the poster, Kayo felt a little ashamed, Youm coming towards her and reaching a handout to touch her fur. "Holy crap, that is soft... and warm..." he muttered in shock, petting the pearlescent fur before he also disappeared into the warm fluffiness. "Looks like this was the perfect choice for a winter mascot." the slime mussed as Kayo was letting everyone snuggle into her fur for a bit, becoming invigorated to clear the snow after enjoying the warm fluffy fox.

~Later~

"Okay. That's enough!" Kayo grumbled, finally having enough of being a living heater/cuddle toy to the people of Tempest, in a black mist(flame?) she took on a humanoid form finally. Only, she was wearing a large black hooded jacket and some black slacks, no sandles on her feet even as she touched the snow-covered ground. Her face wasn't even viable, hidden behind a black mask that covered her face from nose to neck, the shadow of the hood over her head even hid her hair and only her glowing golden eyes were seen from the dark void of her hood.

"Aww~." Milim pouted as she had been in Kayo's fur but so had some of Souka's subordinates, blushing from being exposed so suddenly. "You three, get back to your patrol." Kayo ordered sternly, the dragonnewts nodded and quickly left to get back to their rounds to avoid punishment. "AH! They're Bigger!" Milim shouted in shock, staring at Kayo before the kitsune hid it with a careful slouch, but the little demon lord having already noticed at least one difference. "Huh? What are you talking about Milim?" Rimuru questioned as he stopped shoveling the snow, turning to look at Milim and the darkly dressed person.

"Kayo? Why are you dressed like that?" he asked, truly confused by her strange appearance.

"It's winter. Why shouldn't I be dressed like this?" She asked, golden eyes narrowed at her slime brother. The Slime's golden eyes looked down at her bare feet touching the frozen ground.

"You're not even wearing boots." He pointed out but Kayo was quick to retort. "They get in the way when I shift between forms. You're the one who made my fox form the mascot." she grumbled, three of her white pearlescent fox tails out, their stiff twitching giving away her discomfort before she took a seat on the mysterious bench that always seemed to be where she needed it. Pulling out a strange white jar and applying the strange light blue salve to the bottom of her feet.

"What is that?" Rimuru asked, curious as he looked at the strange cream that had a hit of blue to it inside the jar.

Notice: It appears to be a scentless moisturizing salve that applies a resistance to cold temperatures and low healing.

"Paw Salve. My foxes already use it on their paws and feet. So, the Tempest wolves just need to have this applied to their paws to help keep them soft and healthy for the winter." Kayo told the slime as she pulled out a few more jars before Ranga and 3 of his underlings tiredly approached them.

"Master Rimuru." Ranga panted, all four wolves covered in snow and seeming very tired but happy. "Huh? What's wrong with you guys?" He asked when he noticed how exhausted the wolves had made themselves 'fighting' against nature. "There's no shame if you guys want to play in the snow a little." Kayo reasoned, giggling a little as she found it rather cute. "Now Paws up." she gave the command and the wolves followed obediently, laying on their backs for their kitsune lord.

"How did she just?" Youm tried to ask, stopping his shoving at seeing the cloaked woman command the pack of wolves like they were dogs. Applying the slave to their paws along with Rigur and Rimuru, the wolves wiggling as the cool cream tingled their paws.

"Master Kayo! What is that stuff!?" Ranga questioned, his nose twitching as he starred to smell something very nice come from the kitsune leader, rubbing up against her as she finished the paws of his subordinate. "It's something that will protect your paws form the cold. So they will be cute and soft." Kayo mussed and gave Ranga a lovely petting behind his ears before she pulled out a small blue and white cloth bag that got all the wolves' attention from the smell alone.

"For being good boys, how about a PeanutButter treaty~?" she asked, amused as they all perked up in excitement.

"PEANUT BUTTER TREATY~!" they howled in excitement as Kayo opened the bag and made sure each wolf got one of the large thick brown treats shaped like bones. "She's treating them like dogs." Youm noted, not seeing Kayo smirk with an interesting idea. Shuna, came by with Hanako, carrying some cups and what smelled like tea. "Sissy! Can I have a peanut butter treaty too? They look yummy." Milim asked as she grabbed onto Kayo's coat, the woman patting her head. "I'm afraid those are for the wolves, but I have PeanutButter cookies." she told the young demon lord who looked excited as she drooled.

"YES!" she shouted excitedly before Kayo pulled a woven basket covered with a red and white cloth out of her tails. Gently pulling it away let out a puff of hot air, cookies looked freshly baked and where still hot. "Ohh~!" Milim was excited by the heart shaped cookies, but there where ones that were also star shaped, round like Rimuru and even square with smaller white and brown square inside it.

"Lord Kayo, may we have some as well?" Rommel asked, becoming braver around the kind kitsune. Unlike the rest of Youm's party who still feared her, despite how she had let them all cuddle in her fur before getting to work. "No! Sissy made them for me!" Milim shouted at the timid mage, who got that kicked puppy look at Milim's response. "Starlight, I made them for whoever wants them. Share now and I will make more for you later." Kayo reasoned, Milim pouted but let the kitsune offer the cookies to the human mage and the others in Youm's party as they had warm tea and fresh cookies.

"You always have fresh food. How big is that void space in your tails?" Rimuru asked, poking the fluffy tails curiously with his shovel. Kayo had pulled down her mask and started eating a cookie herself just as he had asked so it took her a bit to answer. "Hmm pretty big. I wouldn't recommend going in there, you would get pretty lost." she told him, nibbling on a cookie before Hanako came to her with a familiar dark blue thermos. "It's from Mr. Souei. He asked me to deliver it to you, Lord Kayo." the goblina told her, the ninja having startled the innocent goblin girl before handing her the container, telling her it was for their Kitsune leader.

Kayo blinked in confusion before taking it from the goblina. "Thank you, I wish he would have just given it to me himself. He's so cute when he blushes." the kitsune mused and drank the familiar liquid that made her start purring, only to get all eyes on her as her hood fell off and exposed what she had been trying to hide. "I guess this confirms who my coffee thief is." she sighed happily, as her kitsune ears twitched in the mass of curly white and silver hair that spilled out of the hood.

"K-kayo... your hair." Shuna pointed out, mostly because it looked messy but also the pearlescent color shimmering with prominent blue and red tints.

"What about my-Oh fu-!" Kayo was confused before she felt a strong wind blow her hair out of her hood, Ranga taking a big sniff of the kitsune as his tail wagged with delight.

"Master Kayo smells really nice!" he chirped happily and rubbed against her as she looked away in shame, quickly pulling her hood back up but they had all seen her white hair.

"Danm sneaky kijin. He's lucky he made it perfectly." she muttered, thinking this was Souei's intent with sending her coffee via poxy.

"Kayo... why are you hiding that? All the other kitsune have white hair your hardly any different." Rimuru asked but Great Sage corrected him.

Notice: Kayo Tempest has Pearlescent Locks, entangled with Steel String.

"It's not the only thing that changed, slime ball." Kayo grumbled and approached him, Rimuru blinked in confusion as he looked up at her. "Do you notice anything else?" She asked, sighing as she pulled back her hood, it was becoming too hot to wear the jacket, so she unzipped it with a relived sigh as she wore a thin crimson tank top under it.

"Um... no?" Rimuru partly lied, looking away as Kayo's breasts were almost bouncing in his face like Shion's.

"Shuna, come here for a bit. Do you notice any change?" Kayo asked the kijin princess who was staring at her chest, blushing before she approached the woman and gasped when she stood closer to her. "Your taller!" Shuna quickly understood and looked at Kayo's face, it had lost some of its childish roundness in her cheeks and eyes, but she could still see the woman she thought of as a sister in her face. "And older." Kayo added grimly, confusing Shuna but Rimuru knew what she was talking about.

"I'm sure Benimaru and Souei won't mind you getting a bit taller and older. Might save them a lot of pain in the neck." He joked trying to cheer her up, but she just seemed depressed as she changed back into her fox form. "I'm going to change out with my siblings, let them have a break from pulling the sleds." she voiced and trotted off to where her siblings were enjoying the snow while on a little break.

The Goblins and Elves finding it adorable how the foxes enjoyed the snow and could recognize their kitsune leader by her curly color changing fur.

~Late Afternoon, Kayo~

"Are you sure your fine, Lord Kayo?" Avlon asked, looking at the kitsune leader with concern, the elves and goblins piling snow onto the kitsune, and wolf pulled sleds to take it away. Kayo said nothing for a bit as they walked, unsure if she should be telling him her problems... not that he would understand them.

"I'm just feeling a little down about... my birthday." She muttered the last part in embarrassment, and of course the elf looked confused. "Birth... day? Why? You and your siblings are already born, why does it matter?" he asked, and Kayo was unsure if she should but went with her idea to just blame Rimuru. "Rimuru told me about these celebrations of life called birthday parties. Humans celebrate them on the anniversary of their birth every year. They get all of their favorite foods, drinks, activities, gifts and everyone celebrates the day they were born... though... it's usually only until they turn 11. Since it's seen as something more for children then adults. Then it just becomes another year closer to death." she told him grimly, as she sent a small apology to the confused slime.

"That sounds kinda sad... do you want a birthday, Lord Kayo?" Avlon questioned, eyes sparking with an idea. "What!? No!" She responded quickly and sighed. "I don't need a big deal made out of it, but... it be nice to know someone is glad I was born." she mentioned, zoning out as they got to the place where they were duping the access snow from the city roads. "Lord Kayo, we are all glad you were born. Why don't you have us throw you a birthday party?" Avlon suggested loudly, catching the ears of some curious monsters who heard the word party.

"N-no! It's fine. Just... maybe a happy birthday would be nice." She admitted, taking on her humanoid form, keeping her body covered with the jacket but leaving the hood down. Her face set into a melancholy frown as she ran a hand threw her hair to detangle it a little.

"Lord Kayo, will you come play with us?" came a small voice of one of the goblin children that had been playing in the snow asked as they looked at her with innocence. Kayo forced a smile as she looked down at them, gently petting their head. "Sorry, I still have some work to do little one." she told them despite the sad pleading look they gave her.

"Come on sis! Have a little fun. We already got all the roads clear, all that's left are the doorways. Did you even have lunch?" Deigo asked, having popped his head out of a snow pile, in his humanoid form of course making the little children laugh as they were having fun with the kitsunes that were taking a break.

Kayo shot him an annoyed looked but had to think for a bit before the grumbling of her stomach gave her away.

"Ohh~ I'm telling Shuna~!" Deigo chirped and jumped out of the snow and headed for the admin building, where Shuna was making something special. "Hold it right-" Kayo was yelling before she took off after her brother, only to hear Great Sage's voice.

Emergency Summoning: Kayo Tempest

'WHAT!?' She questioned, blinking and then finding herself staring at a large snowball that had 'Hiya' carved into it. 'Oh Fuck!' She thought in a panic, before thrusting her fingertip right through the object, splitting it in half easily.

"Awww! No fair sissy! I almost had him!" Milim pouted, crossing her arms at her failed attempt at hitting Rimuru with her snowball. "What's going on here?" Kayo asked, confused and a little disoriented from being summoned. "Well, the little ones wanted to have a snowball fight with me and one of these guys hit me while my-" Rimuru was saying before Kayo yelped when she felt something cold hit the back of her neck.

"What the frick!?" She yelled in shock, trying not to curse in front of the little goblins nearby, but she glared at the 3 goblins and Shion, Gobta being the only one picking up more snow with a cocky grin. "All's fair in love and Snowball fights~. Take this!" Gobta yelled as he threw his snowball at her, but this time the kitsune caught it in her hand, looking confused as the goblins looked shocked and a little scared while Shion and Milim looked excited.

"Thanks for the save, Kayo. Have you never seen snowball fight before? You're not supposed to catch them." Rimuru asked with a relived laugh, but Kayo looked away unsurely. "Oh right! This is your first-time seeing snow." he shouted his realization.

"Sissy's never seen snow before!?" Milim questioned.

"How can this be! Does this mean, we are Lady Kayo's first snowy winter experience?" Shion asked, gushing as she held a snowball with a pink heart on it that gave Kayo a bad feeling. "Yeah, but right now I have and issue I need to- Hey!" Kayo shouted as she dogged several snowballs that got thrown at her, taking on her fox form to shield Rimuru and the little ones that were behind her.

"Let's have some fun then, Lord Kayo!" the goblins cheered as they stared to throw the snowballs at their leaders. "Just because this is my first snow fight doesn't mean I'm a push over." Kayo growled as she had out all 7 of her tails, an evil looking grin on her face.

'You with me Slime ball?' Kayo asked as Rimuru picked up some snow to make a snowball. "I'm with ya fur ball." he said out lout before he, and Kayo launched serval snowballs at the group. Rimuru using his hands, but Kayo used her tails to create a multi shot assault. While the goblins got pelted by those snowballs, Shion and Milim were able to doge before the purple Kijin cried out in shock, several snowballs hit her form all directions, and serval kitsune popped out of the snow, giggling as they wanted in on the fun.

"Ha! I saw that coming!" Milim laughing as she teased the foxes, finding it fun to avoid the many snowballs. Then grab some snow to try and attack them, but not hurt Kayo's foxes as the game was so much fun with so many people playing with her.

~Later, Assembly Building, Kitchen~

"Sorry to trouble you, Shuna. You didn't have to make lunch just for me." Kayo assured the pink kijin as she sat at the small table in the kitchen that was used for taste testing, a basket of still fresh garlic knots set at the center of the table in front of her. The kitsune leader nibbling on them a little, Shuna having made her sit and not help cook. It was ordered by Rimuru who had heard her stomach growling during their epic snowball fight, a sign she had skipped several meals already.

So, she was forced to sit with her back to the kitchen, letting Shuna prepare a personal meal for the self-neglectful Tempest leader, the Kijin princess having of course scolded the Kitsune for skipping meals before making her sit with the tempting appetizer. Once those where gone, Kayo pulled out a brush to started soothing out her wild and curly hair, not having properly done it since she woke up to discover the horror of her hair turning white and sliver overnight. The tattered looking ribbon loosely wrapped around her left wrist as she brushed her hair down, making it become a little neater and straighter. The smell of something familiarly sweet reaching her nose, Kayo peeked a little just after Shuna put something in the new kitchen freezer, closing it made the scent disappear before she could confirm what it was.

"What are you making anyway?" She asked, curious as there where scent neutralizing candles that helped the kitchen smell fresh and clean between meals so the old scents wouldn't contaminate the new. "Something Lord Rimuru said you would like. No peeking~." She lightly scolded; Kayo turned away before young girl started to plate what she had made. The kitsune braiding her hair and halfway down her back before the ribbon itself tied it off into a cute black bow.

"I'm sure whatever you make will be... fine?" Kayo assured her and was confused when she saw a familiar site in front of her. "Alfredo Ravioli?" the foodie kitsune questioned and sniffed it a bit more, her mouthwatering and tails wagging.

"Rabbit snuffed Ravioli? Shuna, you didn't have to. The pasta alone must have taken you forever." She voiced her concern, having showed the princess how to make the pasta dough, the two of them having been working on several recipes together to serve Rimuru. The kitsune couldn't help her tails wagging with excitement as she remembered to fold her hands together and bow her head.

"Thank you for the food." she said before she eagerly eating one of the hot stuffed pasta pillows, giving an excited mew as the flavors spread across her tongue. Shuna gave a soft smile as she watched Kayo eating her food slowly, despite her hunger, savoring the carefully crafted pasta, the roasted rabbit that tasted like a fresh kill, the creamy Alfredo Sause, the carefully crafted cheese and of course there where carrots and other vegetables stuffed into the plump pillows.

"It was no trouble. You helped me make dinner and you made everyone breakfast this morning. Brother nearly drank all that amber goo though." Shuna mentioned, giggling as she recalled Benimaru trying out the goo Kayo had left for them, having had to stop her brother from just drinking all the goo himself. "Eh? The Maple syrup? That was supposed to go on the pancakes, he has a serious sweet tooth if he wants to drink it." Kayo mussed softly, shaking her head and was confused when Rimuru came into the kitchen with a familiar green bottle.

"You know what goes great with pasta? Wine~." He grinned and showed the confused kitsune the familiar bottle more clearly. "Pinot Noir, a nice paring." Kayo mussed, half wondering if Great Sage knew about wine parings or if he came to the idea all by himself. Rimuru grabbed a wine glass and poured a single glass, setting it in front of her. "Treyni recommended it and I bought it since she was insistent, I do. Any idea why?" The slime asked as he watched his sister pick up the wine glass, swirl it around and taking in the scent slowly.

"She owes me for the top shelf Sliver Sakura wine bottle she just took from my bar. Even if it was for you and she's watching over the forest, she still has to pay me back for stealing something that took me MONTHS of development and research, never mind actually brewing it and aging it to perfection." Kayo hissed and sipped the wine happily. "Aahhh~ At least she knows her drinks." Kayo mussed, feeling a strange warmth come over her, all 7 of her tails slipped out allowing her to relax.

"Ah. W-well it was good. Your hard work is the best, so you should be rewarded." The slime told her, watching her slowly eat and relax. "Do you have any other plans today? You worked really hard as the mascot and thanks to the volunteers, the snow was moved in just a few hours." the slime pointed out and poured Kayo another glass as Shuna left them to talk.

"Not really... are you planning something, Satoru?" Kayo asked, getting suspicious of having some of her favorite foods be served to her. Rimuru stiffened when she used his human name, it both scared and relived him a little. "It always scares me when you call my old name... but it's nice that someone knows it. It reminds me... that I'm human." Rimuru gave her a dazzling smile that made the kitsune blush and quickly look away.

'Nope! Don't think like that, he's your brother. Your cute, adorable, little brother! The squishy little slime ball.' Kayo scolded herself as she went back to her food, pushing away the odd feeling she was getting. Rimuru looked at her in confusion but smiled a little as one of her tails curled around him, the slime gently stoking it as he didn't know of the turmoil in her mind as her body heated up.

~Early Evening~

Kayo was out in the city, dressed in her black jacket, some warm winter boots, and a 'Rimuru blue' scarf wrapped loosely around her neck, mostly because it was a gift from Shuna than really needing it to keep warm and the scent of Cherry blossoms was always nice. The kitsune leader was just looking over the frozen over lake that was part of the entertainment district, having made plans for it to be something fun in summer and... an ice rink in the winter.

'Am I just being stupid? I haven't done it since I was 5 and I don't think anyone in the city knows how... maybe Sat- No. That just feels to datey.' Kayo scolded herself for imaging Rimuru teaching her how to ice skate again. Sighing heavily, a large puff of misted breath floated into the air as she tried to calm down her heat spike, disgusted with herself for thinking of her brother that way.

"Ah! Little fox, there you are. I've been looking for you." Kayo perked up, confused and looked over at the familiar voice of Kaijin, the Dwarven Blacksmith, bundled up for the cold and carrying a white box in his hands. "Hey Kaijin. What cha got there?" She questioned; a bit worried it might be an injured animal as the dwarf handed it to her.

"A little surprise for ya. Don't worry it's not an injured animal." The dwarf assured her with a harty chuckle, watching as she carefully opened the box. Her golden eyes opened wide and where sparking with excitement... not like her tail gave it away with how much fast it was wagging, having only one out at the moment. "Rimuru told me you might be interested in these. It wasn't too hard to make but... I can't image what you would need them for. You don't cut food with your feet do ya?" The dwarf joked, Kayo pulled out the pair of beautiful Ice skates, they were white of course, looking like a boot that had a blade stuck to the bottom of it.

Running a finger over the blade, the kitsune was excited to see that it had cut her finger, of course it healed quickly but the Dwarf was looking at her, confused and a bit worried with the kitsune leader's self-harm. "Actually, there's a... sport I've been wanting to try. Ever hear of Ice Skating?" Kayo asked as the dwarf stoked his beard in thought. Seeing the Kitsune's eyes show childish excitement that she only showed when she was learning something new.

"I have, but I've never seen it. Is that what those strange shoes are for?" Kaijin asked, intrigued as the kitsune giggled innocently, sounding like sweet little bells to his ears. "Yeah, um but this may sound weird but... can you check the thickness of the ice for me?" she asked him, looking a little nervous as the Dwarf chuckled. "Still can't swim?" he asked and gave a roaring laugher at the horrified face she made at his question.

'Gobta!' She cursed her goblin friend, who felt her killing intent clear across the city.

~Evening~

Kayo carefully glided across the ice on her new skates, giddy as she was able to keep standing this time. Having carefully taken off her jacket, scarf, and boots so that after 26 years, the few good experiences from her childhood about ice skating came back to her, a small smile coming to her face as she grew more confident. Kaijin had checked the ice for her, it wasn't likely to break and plunge her into ice cold water anytime soon. After that the dwarf had gotten to see the kitsune try to stand on the skates and kiss the ice rather hard several times before she could stand properly, after that was moving forward slowly... then giving the snow a big hug to stop.

"You're doing great little fox!" Kaijin encouraged her, finding it cute when she messed up but still got back up after a bit of pouting... maybe a little whining and cursing too. Kayo waved at him excitedly before she tied to stop... and kissed the ice again as she fell sideways onto the cold hard surface. "Fuck~, that hurt~." Kayo whined lowly, carefully getting up to flex her impacted arm. Still getting up on the blades again, her body hot with embracement because not only was Kaijin watching, but some of her foxes, a few curious elves and even some goblin children who watched her failure at ice skating.

"Breath... close your eyes and concentrate on your movements." Kayo muttered as she slowly started to skate again, her eyes closed and blocking out the feeling of many eyes watching her fail over and over again.

'Why can't you do this one thing right! It's so simple! You UESLESS child! Why where you even born!?'

Kayo gasped as her eyes widen, looking around in shock at the familiar voice only to face plant onto the ice again. 'Was that... mother's voice?' Kayo questioned as she didn't get up and shook, her heart hamming in her chest from the trauma of her childhood. Her human mother having pushed her to be an ice dancer... it didn't end well when she sliced open her leg with her skates, or when she hit puberty early at 11.

"I... I should stop." Kayo muttered; ears pressed flat on her head, tail between her legs as she tried to get up, her vision blurry and her arms shaking more from fear then the cold.

"Kayo! You can do it! Don't give up now!" Rimuru cheered from beside Kaijin, the tempest leader having come to see what seemed so interesting over by the frozen lake. He wasn't surprised to see Kayo trying to skate, fail, and then get back up to do it again. Kayo looked at him in shock and gave him a weak smile. Getting up, slowly skating over to him and Kaijin, Rimuru was worried as she saw how her ears and tail didn't move from their fearful position.

"Thanks Slime ball, but I think I've kissed the ice enough to make Souei jealous." she weakly joked, her arms wrapped around herself for comfort before Rimuru hugged her suddenly, making the woman flinch as she nearly lost her balance on the skates. "Then keep trying, I'm sure he will try to out match that number. You're doing great for your first snow!" Rimuru told her, golden eyes looking up at her with encouragement, Kayo blushed and looked away.

"Maybe tomorrow, it's getting late. I'm sure there was something else you wanted to do. Like sit in an igloo and cook mochi?" She suggested, having glanced at that thought form the slime but he shook his head and Kayo's eyes widen as she saw the memory of Rimuru reading threw her copied journal, his focus on a date that barely meant anything in her past life and nothing in her new one.

December 14th

"Nope! It's making sure you have a great birthday!" Rimuru told her, beaming up at her as he pulled away. Kaijin's eyes widening at the realization but also confusion. "H-her birthday? Aren't foxes born in spring?" He questioned more out of confusion then anything.

"It's... just a random date Lord Rimuru picked out. It's not my birthday, no need for any fuss about it." Kayo reasoned, suddenly she was pushed back onto the ice, startled the kitsune stopped herself before she got too far, but found herself at the frozen lake's center, glaring at the slime who had pushed her out there.

"One more time Kayo! Just have fun! Let it go~!" Rimuru encouraged her, Kayo giving a small laugh and smile at the last part. 'Was that intentional?' She questioned; the memory of a familiar ice woman came to her... but she didn't feel like Elsa from Frozen.

Shaking it off, Kayo closed her eyes and started to skate across the ice again, blocking out all the eyes watching her and just being in the moment as her heart was beating softly. Placing a hand on her chest she could feel the warmth despite being in a thin tank top, breathing in deep the cold Tempest air. The taste of spring water and lemon grass with a hint of storms dominating of course, under that she could still taste the scents of the goblins, the tempest wolves, the dwarves, the kijin, the orcs, the dragonewts, the kitsune, the dryads, the tyrants, the elves, the fairies, and even the humans she knew.

Kayo felt... relaxed as she slowly exhaled and then took another deep breath of the Tempest air into her body as she moves freely, feeling some strange weight disappear.

Can you hear my heartbeat?
I'm tired of feeling, like I'm never enough
I close my eyes and tell myself that my dreams will come true

She started to sing, Rimuru's eyes widening as he heard her singing, she skated gracefully across the ice, the kitsune seeming to sparkle as she made simple yet elegant movements. The 'hidden' audience coming out to get a closer look, curious and lured by a strange tug that pulled them there.

There'll be no more doubts or fear
When you believe in yourself, you're unstoppable
Where your destiny lies
Dancing among the stars
You set my soul on fire

Kayo sang louder, something that impressed Rimuru besides her improved skating. She was starting to do twirls and small jumps, nothing impressive to him but to everyone else it seemed amazing. More and more people coming to watch Kayo skate and sing, having her eyes closed seemed to help her be more confident.

Don't stop us now, the moment of truth
We were born to make history
We'll make it happen, we'll turn it around
Yes, we were born to make history

Kayo kept singing, unaware of the attention she was getting. Drawing in everyone from the city with her melody that they could feel pulling at them. Only the humans seemed confused by what was happing and just followed the monsters to the frozen lake, watching as Kayo's spins and jumps got more complicated as she skated faster. It looked like she was dancing while casting a spell that captivated everyone. Her voice was flowing through the air invitingly, so warm and up lifting.

Can you hear my heartbeat?
I've got a feeling that it's never too late
I close my eyes and tell myself that my dreams that will come true

There'll be no more doubts or fear
When you believe in yourself you are unstoppable
Where your destiny lies, Dancing among the stars
You set my soul on fire

Don't stop us now, the moment of truth
We were born to make history
We'll make it happen, we'll turn it around
Yes, we were born to make history
We were born to make history

Kayo panted as she made a graceful stop, spreading her arms out with her head tilted up to the sky, eyes still closed before she heard a collection of many voices.

"Yes, we were born to make history!"

The kitsune's eyes snapped open as cold fear washed over her as she saw a large crowd around her... watching her... the citizens of Tempest and their visitors.

'Oh fuck... k-keep it together...' Kayo was thinking nervously shaking, taking deep breaths as her body was giving off a lot of heat from her performance only to be startled by the loud roar of applause and cheers. 'That was really amazing, Kayo!' Rimuru encouraged threw their link, Kayo stunned, unsure of what to do with so much approval and praise, her body acted on its own and flowed into an elegant bow, one hand above her chest, where some glowing white marks flickered like stars.

~Nighttime, Kayo's Hideaway~

"That was fun. Terrifying, but fun." Kayo mussed as she was enjoying a slice of the strawberry short cake Shuna and the kitchen staff had made for her as a birthday cake. Licking off she Rimuru blue frosting from her fingers she wanted to be alone, the vast amount of attention from everyone drained the normally introverted kitsune. Kayo stopped as she came closer to her hideaway, the fresh snowfall only slightly hiding the tracks but the kitsune could still smell those strong familiar scents. "What are they doing?" She questioned and quietly opened her door, her face flushed as she heard Benimaru moan and smelled the delicious musk of her two mates.

"Ohh~." Kayo purred, but was confused as she entered casually, ignoring the two on her bed and the wonderfully tempting musk they were giving off. It took them a bit to notice that they were not alone, Kayo tempted to take a peek and did. She giggled and gave the two a smirk, pulling out another slice of her birthday cake before plopping into a chair with a nice view of the action.

"Continue~." She teased them, finding Benimaru's dark crimson face adorable and Souei's smirk, mouth wateringly sexy.

It was her home after all... she should at least get to watch.
