Here is finally new chapter here. I'm sorry for the wait but I finally got the idea how to continue this. Enjoy :)
Chapter 7: Footage Restored
-With Christian At The Mansion-
At the mansion Christian's vision stopped and he was even sweating. This was going to be trouble in so many levels. He barely heard Sara come in but her touch on the shoulder woke him up from his thoughts.
'Are you okay? Another vision?' Sara asked.
'Yeah, strong one. There's going to be trouble. We need to find that vampire who can make ghouls quickly,' Christian wiped his forehead with his hand and stood up but his legs felt weak.
Just then Rick came in with stern face. It wasn't new to him see Christian like that. Visions take their toll and it take Christian time to recover too.
'There's nothing new besides the videos and of course the police breathing down on our necks. They are looking for the missing files,' Rick said.
'Why?' Sara asked.
'There has been murder and missing person and they are looking into it. I… I personally think that the ghoul I killed IS the missing person they are looking for,' Rick answered. Christian sighed and leaned against the table. This seriously was going to be a headache. Not to mention the very last moment he saw but he couldn't say anything about it. It could happen or not.
'It looks like there is more, isn't there?' Sara sounded worried. Christian glanced at her before turning to the window and saw Kai coming back. He didn't answer Sara back but Sara saw the answer either way.
'Well, you need to rest now. We'll take care of it for now,' Sara stated. She did not hold anger up for long for the lie Christian had told.
-With Kai Outside The Room-
As Kai arrived back he could feel the atmosphere being stiff. He watched up to the stairs and saw Sara and Rick come out of Christian's office.
'Something up?' Kai asked.
'Another vision. Triple bad one. Christian is in bad shape. Is there no way to follow the ghoul's tracks?' Sara asked.
'I looked but there weren't any signs. We are literally stomped,' Rick said calmly. Sara cursed sighing and started to walk back and forth.
'We need to do something. Can't you get Mike's, Lara's or Tina's help or something?' she asked.
'Freaking out won't help,' Rick said and turned away, 'We might get trouble from the cops too. We have no choice but to wait. If there's one, there's another ghoul.'
'Are you seriously going to wait?' Sara asked but Rick didn't answer and just continued his way. Kai didn't know if he was pissed or not but he decided to keep his thoughts to himself, about the "family" stuff anyway.
'Can you fill me in what happened here?' Kai asked.
'Let's go the kitchen then,' Sara sighed. It seemed everyone was on edge.
-At The Police Station-
Back at the police station Walter was surprised to find more missing person reports. Why did so many people disappear at the same time?
Walter sighed and he wanted to disappear in his seat, 'Is there any news yet?'
'They got the computers from the store and said tomorrow morning for the earliest,' Faith informed.
'Alright. Let's follow that lead for now and check these people as well,' Walter instructed. He glanced through the files and notices maybe couple common factors, they disappeared in same town and even the same area or around it. This was going to be troublesome.
-With Tyson And Others In The Evening-
'Hey, that's not fair,' Max complained after Kenny had won the bord game, again.
'Sorry Maxi. I'll let you win next time,' Kenny promised.
'That's bad too. I want to beat you with this fair and square,' Max stated.
'Hehe,' Kenny chuckled, 'Come one Tyson, join us and don't just lay on the bed.' But Tyson didn't answer and kept staring at the roof.
'What's on your mind Tyson?' Kenny stood up and walked up to Tyson who sat up at the same time.
'That Kai dude is just on my mind. It's like he doesn't care that his brother decides what he can do. Doesn't that brother you guys at all?' Tyson explained.
'Maybe a little but what can we do? We don't even know him,' Max replied from the floor.
'I must think of something… Maybe a bey battle' Tyson pondered.
'Didn't you have one already? He did say he would battle you only once… well for a moment and you did,' Kenny reminded.
'Yes, but that jerk interrupted it and I don't count it,' Tyson said back.
'You do know that you can't force Kai to battle you if he doesn't want to,' Kenny said.
'More like if he's brother allows him to battle,' Tyson grunted. Max and Kenny looked at each other and sighed. They recalled Ray again who would be able to reason with Tyson as he did before. He was going to be missed a lot and by everyone he ever knew.
-With Kai At The Same Time-
Kai was sitting beside the window and look towards the main town. Even though it was far, he able to see it with his eyes which were much sharper than before. Kai took a sip from his bottle and noticed that he didn't even grinch anymore. At least now he wouldn't lose control because of lack of blood. He was on his own thoughts when his room's door was opened and Christian came inside. He apparently was feeling better enough to walk around again.
'What do you want? You have never come here before,' Kai snorted.
'I deserve that attitude this time since I lied slightly,' Christian sat on Kai's bed.
'No kidding,' Kai growled. He didn't have energy to deal with this and just wanted to forget everything.
'I decided that I will tell you and others about the vision I had,' Christian began.
'Can you even do that? You have never done that before and caused me a lot of pain even now,' Kai stood up and almost yelled.
'I don't what happens in my visions because I have always believed that they have some kind of purpose but… I might have been also afraid of the changes that could be worse,' Kai could barely hear Christian. He sounded sad and didn't look up either. He looked like… a normal person with problems and not all mighty or a leader. Kai watched him stood up and head back to the door.
'Come to the living room if you wish to hear about it. Everyone else are already in there and don't blame me if you stay here,' Christian said with his normal commanding and stern tone. Kai was puzzled after seeing his big brother, a leader of these vampires, look vulnerable. Kai quickly put his bottle on the table and followed Christian towards the living room.
There he saw others with curious looks and same old angry ones towards him. Kai simply walked next to Sara and kept quiet.
'Well, this is new. You have never told us about your visions,' Mike smirked. He looked… happy about this for some reason.
'I'm just going to tell you the basics. In short, I saw ghouls, vampires and humans dying in the city. It was a bloodbath but I don't know who or when it's going to happen or if it's going to happen at all,' Christian explained.
'Are you serious?!' Sara exclaimed and Christian simply nodded. Like her, everyone else were shocked.
'And just when we were about to get some piece. Thanks Kai,' Tina stated frustrated but got shot down with Christian's angry look. He was able to build up tension with just his presence.
'Someone out there is making these ghouls and about to cause a lot of pain to other people and not just us,' Christian continued.
'So, what do you think we should do then? It's not like we know who is behind this,' Lara asked.
'Simple way, find the bastard and kill him but at the same time it's not going to be easy,' Christian sat down on the sofa.
'I'll say we just wait for another ghoul and keep an eye on it,' Mike suggested calmly.
'I agree to that,' Tina said immediately. Kai notices others began to agree as well but he wasn't sure about it and it didn't go unnoticed.
'Are you still holding on to your human morals?' Mike asked.
'Shut it,' Kai stated, 'I just think it's wrong to do that.'
'Unless you have better idea, Mike's suggestion is in effect,' Christian said, 'Others can leave but I have one more thing to say to you Kai,' he added. They stared at each other as others left and Sara closed the living room door.
'What? Going to lecture me about morals now?' Kai said without hiding his annoyed tone.
'Drop it,' Christian sighed, 'I was just going to tell you that you have the right to your own opinion but…' he stopped suddenly.
'What?' Kai asked.
'It's clear you don't feel like you belong here but don't forget that you're not human anymore. I'm not trying to lecture you but just forget Bladebreakers. It's for the best for everyone,' Christian stood up and walked past Kai to the door.
'I know what it feels like when your life gets taken away too,' he added before leaving.
'Yeah, your parents or… our parents,' Kai thought. He stood still and recalled his time with Bladebreakers, again. He couldn't just forget them but Christian has a point as always.
'Just… one more time then,' Kai decided and headed back to his room.
-Next Morning At The Station-
'Walter sir! We got them!' Dylan came screaming. They had been stuck forever with the store and disappearance of Tom Harrison, not like they had luck with others either.
'Show it,' Walter ordered and Dylan put the USB into the computer and showed the video on the big screen. They skipped the familiar parts and stopped at the missing ones.
'Here,' Walter stated and Dylan stopped fast-forwarding. They got surprised what they saw. First they noticed that kid called Kai walking in the store with someone with black clothes and hair after they had taken theirs hoods off. Everything seemed normal when the clerk behind the desk stopped moving and even the book from Kai's hand had stopped in the mid-air. Only Kai and the other boy were moving and they both walked past the clerk and went in the room where the security cameras were controlled. They were there some time, maybe about five to ten minutes. Then they came back took their original positions and everything began to move again. Then Bladebreakers came in and they talked for a while before everyone left.
Then there was the other file that got Faith puking her guts out. In the alley, they saw Tom Harrison attacking Kai and they fought there for a minute when the boy with black clothes kicked Harrison off and hard. Boys talked for a second and then they watched the other boy… destroy Harrison's body that it disappeared entirely.
'That's… sick!' Dylan stated shocked.
'This must have happened first and then they went to the store and delete these files… but what did we even saw?' Walter leaned back in his chair.
'Let's just bring those boys in. The other boy did… um… kill Harrison but it looks like he tried to save Kai there,' Dylan tried to ignore Harrison vanishing into thin air.
'Right. Do we have their address or anything?' Walter asked.
'No, sorry sir,' Faith said after calming her stomach down.
'Let's head back to Bladebreakers then if they know something,' Walter said.
-With Kai-
Kai was wearing his hoodie again and felt hot as always and it wasn't new news or anything. He had mentioned to Sara where he was going since Christian slept most of the mornings and woke after afternoon most of the time.
He stood behind the trees and watched the hotel where Bladebreakers were staying. They should be heading back to Japan soon though and Kai began to want it that way. He didn't know how long he stayed hidden when he noticed a police car stopping at the front doors and recognized Walter stepping out with Dylan and Faith.
'What are they doing here?' Kai thought and followed them inside. He stayed out of sight and kept himself in the dark corner behind the pillar and curtain. Walter and the other two walked to the receptionist before sitting down. Before long Bladebreakers came out along with Bruce and Tyson's grandfather.
-With Tyson And Others-
'You wanted to see them,' Bruce started.
'Yes and since they are underage, you can be present if you want. It is recommended though,' Walter explained. Everyone sat down puzzled.
'The security footage was restored and we just wanted to ask you about something if that's okay,' Walter asked. He was usually the one who did the questioning when it came to cases.
'Sure,' Tyson said.
'You were at the store near the park, right?' Walter asked.
'Yes, you asked that before,' Tyson said.
'Do you know Kai's last name or his phone number?' Walter asked. Tyson and others looked at each other confused.
'Umm, wasn't it Hiwatari or something?' Max scratched his head.
'Right,' Walter nodded.
'Why do you need to know it?' Tyson asked. Walter seemed to ponder for a while before he decided to answer.
'I can't say much but we saw Kai in the footage with the boy dressed in black and they are connected to the case of disappearance of Tom Harrison. Do you know where he might be?' Walter questioned.
'The other boy in black? Aah, that moron too,' Tyson remembered.
'Too?'
'Well, yeah. At the party last time there was another dude who was rude and jerk towards us and Kai. They seem to be in the same friend group but both of them seem to do whatever Kai's brother tells them,' Tyson just talked his thoughts out.
'Kai has a brother?' Walter repeated and Dylan wrote everything they talked down on his small notepad.
'And a sister too and their parents apparently were murdered,' Tyson said.
'Murdered?' Walter was surprised again.
'Well, yeah. I knew his father back in the day. They were found murdered in their home but murdered was never found,' Bruce stepped in.
'What was their father's name?'
'Susumu Hiwatari. Here is his picture,' Bruce gave old pictures to Walter with Kai along with Kai's mother in them.
'Is there picture of his siblings?' Walter asked.
'Not with me, no,' Bruce said.
'Is there anything you can tell me about Kai or about his siblings or parents?' Walter took a picture of the photo with his phone and gave it back to Bruce.
'What I have seen as an outsider, is that there might be tension between Kai and his older brother and I…' Bruce stopped.
'And what? Do you speak your mind,' Walter engouraged.
'After talking with Kai alone during Bladebreakers last beyblade match, I personally think Kai's brother might know who was behind their parents' deaths. But it's just a hunch thought and I can't be sure,' Bruce admitted.
'Why would Kai's brother not tell anyone then?' Max asked worried for something.
'Are you worried for who?' Kenny asked.
'I don't know… Maybe for all three of them?' max shrugged his shoulders.
'Thank you for that information. It looks like we need to talk with Kai's siblings as well if it's needed. Did Kai tell you about anyone names? Siblings or those friends?' Walter asked another one.
'I don't think so. At least I don't remember them,' Tyson shook his head along with others.
'That dude in black is the guy you looking for, right?' Tyson stated.
'What makes you think so?' Walter frowned.
'Is he?' Tyson simply asked. Walter sighed and took a picture out.
'This is a screenshot of the footage where Kai's friend clearly killed the missing person Tom Harrison. From the video it looks like he saved Kai but we need to question about why they deleted the footage in the first place,' Walter explained. Tyson and others looked at the picture with wide eyes and it didn't look real. How could a boy around their age kill someone with any reason?
With that Walter and other two cops stood up, 'If we have any more questions, we will call. Do call us if you recall anything else or if you see Kai again.'
'Of course,' Bruce nodded. After cops left no one said anything.
'Does anyone else smell something fishy here?' Max asked.
'I smell complications,' grandfather stated. The talk left everyone feeling strange and didn't know what to do at the moment.
-With Kai-
Kai didn't know what to think. Somehow police were able to restore the footage and the same trouble began to appear again. And last time it cost Ray's life… Kai shook his head and quickly left the hotel and started to run back to the mansion.
I hope you liked it. Do tell me your opinions.
Thank you for reading :)
