Here we go again. I'm hoping not to make a mess of this.

Chapter 10: Offer

-With Kai-

Dickenson gestured Kai to sit down on the bed while he sat on the other. There was a desk on the back corner with chairs around it but he thought soft beds would be more comfortable.

'So, what do you want?' Kai asked impatiently.

'Straight to the point I see,' Dickenson chuckled slightly before continuing, 'As you may already guess but Tyson and others have told me what you have told them about yours brother and other things.' Kai didn't like where this was going.

'After the meeting last time with the police, Bruce here got an impression from Rick that he took… pleasure of taking human life,' Dickenson continued.

'Human? Oh, right. That ghoul. Harrison I think,' Kai thought.

'And just now we saw how your brother seems to want to control not only his surroundings but people around him also. You had a sister too, didn't you?' Dickenson asked.

'Yeah?' Kai glanced at Dickenson suspiciously.

'How does she feel about your brother and how does he do things?' Dickenson asked while trying to choose his words carefully.

'She has been with him a long time and is loyal if that's what you're asking,' Kai replied, 'Why are you asking this?'

'This might come a little strange or pushy, but would you like to stay with us?' Bruce spoke this time.

'What?!' Kai shot up. Of course, that question was strange, more like a shock.

'Why would you ask that and why even would I accept that?' Kai asked.

'I saw how uncomfortable you were last time when you were with Rick and it doesn't seem like your brother treats you any better,' Dickenson answered.

'What the fuck do you know?' Kai cursed and headed to the door. He didn't know why but even when he wasn't part of the team, he hated it if someone would put their nose into his business.

Before he could get out Dickenson called out, 'This option is open for you even after we return to Japan. You can even take your sister with if she wants to come and isn't happy there.'

Kai stopped at the door and gripped the door handle, 'I doubt brother would allow that to happen in million years.' Bruce stood up and almost place his hand on Kai's shoulder but decided against it.

'It just an option if you want to take it. If you feel like living with your living relative is the only one, we respect that too,' Bruce said.

'But you don't trust him to treat us well because of his nature? Or Rick?' Kai turned around but didn't let go of the door.

'Is it that obvious?' Bruce smiled a bit.

'It is,' Kai didn't wait for more and headed back downstairs to the hall where everyone was.

'That went well,' Bruce said with a sad smile.

'The knowledge is with him now and he can join later. Let's go too,' Dickenson said and they followed Kai down.

-Meanwhile With Others In The Hall-

Everyone sat there in silence, mostly not talking with each other. Max and Kenny were going through beyblade data from last battle with new beyblade and Tyson kept staring at Christian who was sitting hands crossed, one leg over another and eyes closed. Rick and Mike were whispering to each other and sometimes they burst into laughter.

'Do you care about him?' Tyson asked suddenly.

'Who?' Mike raised his eyebrow.

'Not you. I was asking Chris here. He's Kai's brother supposedly,' Tyson snorted.

'Supposedly?' Christian opened his eyes slightly but he didn't look up to Tyson.

'All we know you could be lying. You've done that before according to Kai anyway,' Tyson revealed.

'Isn't the worst time ether,' Mike added.

'You really don't know when to shut up, do you?' Christian sighed.

'Sorry,' Mike backed away again.

'Chris right though you know,' Rick added while leaning back to the sofa.

'I asked you a question moron,' Tyson pointed out angrily.

'Why do you even care?' Christian asked.

'After listening how much he complains about you, what he says about all of you, I don't see how he could live with you guys. He needs a family and good friends and not a control freak and murder loving people,' Tyson said.

'That must be you Rick,' Mike tapped Rick on the head like a child and got punched with a fist. That brute movement was shocked to everyone.

'Ouch, that hurt bastard,' Mike rubbed his chin.

'Why did you hit him? No need to get violent,' Max said with shivering voice. It was clear he was very wary of Rick the most.

'Forget it. Rick loves violence,' Mike stated as matter of fact way, 'I wonder would you get jail time if I sue you for that.'

'Try it and you die,' Rick smirked.

'That would be unwise,' voice behind them said. Turning around they saw Walter with the other two cops.

'What are you doing here?' Tyson asked curiously.

'We received a tip that Kai would be coming here with his brother,' Walter replied.

'Tip?' Rick sounded serious this time.

'I presume it's you, right?' Walter watched Christian's back who hadn't turned around.

'Yeah, Kai told us his name is Chris and that's Mike. Rick you already know,' Max introduced.

'Yeah, about that. It appears that it's a fake name. Mind telling the real one now?' Walter wasn't in the mood of games.

'Uu, busted,' Mike still joked.

'Boys. This is no laughing matter. It was clearly you saved Kai that day but we still need your real name. If you don't have anything to hide, there shouldn't ne any trouble,' Walter pointed out. He waited for a while but Rick kept his mouth shut. If they ran his real name through the database of any kind to that matter, they would die from surprise. Since Rick should be dead just like all the others. Christian's parents managed to get new identification papers and other files that it would show their age to be reasonable for humans.

'Alright. What about you Chris then? After we checked Susumu Hiwatari's name and the records, we found out that Susumu has only one child, Kai Hiwatari. I didn't see any other name,' Walter said.

'Ha! I knew it!' Tyson almost cheered but Kenny pulled him down to shut him up.

'I'm not surprised. The public didn't really knew him,' Christian said as Kai, Bruce and Dickenson came back.

'What do you mean by that? I personally knew Susumu,' Bruce was surprised and wanted to hear some answer like anyone else.

'You might have known him little bit, but I knew him much better. He was my father too, although he didn't act like one. He even deleted us from the files expect Kai of course. That's the reason you can't find us from his records,' Christian stated, 'I've told Kai about this already.'

'Do you know it then?' Bruce asked.

'Know what?' Christian sighed annoyed.

'Who murdered them then?' Bruce asked.

'Dad? Why would you want to know that? How would he know that if the police even didn't? Were you and Susumu close or something?' Tyson asked multiple questions while frowning. Walter and the cops also kept quiet and decided to let the conversation to move naturally, since these were questions they were curious about too.

'What if I do? It's not like anyone can do anything about it,' Christian said.

'Hey!' Kai abruptly spoke. He was clearly surprised about Christian's statement.

'I assume Kai knows too then?' Dickenson said behind Bruce. He was getting nervous of how things were progressing.

'I told him and our sister. Basically, anyone in our household knows it,' Christian continued.

'Just stop it! They don't need to know,' Kai stepped in and was trying to prevent Christian from talking about it. He didn't know why he was trying to do it but he was.

'Why do you want to hide it?' Tyson asked.

'I… Nothing can be done with it anyway and why talk about it. It wasn't like they were…' Kai had to stop himself this time.

'They weren't what?' Kenny spoke quietly.

Kai sighed and said it, 'What I have heard, they didn't treat Chris or my sister well.' Bruce looked like his world had fallen apart after hearing this. The person he thought he knew was something else.

'Are you serious? You didn't lie about this?' Bruce asked.

'Jesus Christ, no,' Christian stood up and began to walk away but Walter stepped in front of him.

'You might think that it won't matter but if you know something it's better to tell about it,' Walter said, 'And there's the fact you or Rick haven't told us your name.' Christian backed away two steps and seemed to ponder a while.

'I don't see the point but choose one. My name, Rick's name or the truth behind Hiwatari's murder,' Christian said.

'Who allows you to decided what police ask you?' Tyson growled.

'I won't be telling them anything else without a warrant. Besides, the only thing that has happened was the Harrison case rick told me about,' Christian simply stated and Bruce didn't waste time actually here.

'If I can be any influence, I would like know the truth behind the murder,' it had bothered Bruce a long time.

'Was it your idea to delete the video footage?' Walter asked.

'Who knows,' Christian sighed and continued to wait for the answer. Walter gazed at Dylan and Faith for a moment and nodded.

'Fine. Let's play your game. Tell us about the murder then,' Walter said.

'The only thing I will tell you is who the killer is,' Christian began, 'It was our mother, Katherine Hiwatari.'

'WHAT?!' Bruce yelled out as others were shocked, and even the police were shocked.

'She killed him and killed herself afterwards,' Christian said before heading out.

'How do you know that?! You're not that much older than Kai!' Tyson pointed out.

'You can remember a lot even when you're two years old in right circumstances,' Christian said, 'And I'm a lot older than Kai anyway even if it doesn't look like it.'

'That would explain why killer was never found,' Walter pondered.

'Do what you will with that,' Christian continued walking before suddenly stopping, 'My name is Christian by the way, not Chris,' he added a bonus and left with Rick and Mike running after him before police could stop them.

Kai began to walk as well but Tyson grabbed his arm, 'Why won't you stay here? Can't you see how Chris acts? You even lied about his name! Can't you see he's bad influence?' Tyson begged.

'Let go!' Kai pulled his arm away and left running.

'Wait!' Tyson began but Bruce stopped.

'He knows our offer. Let him think it through first. Maybe he'll will talk about it with his sister,' Bruce said.

'And maybe that Christian will butt in and try stop them then? And with if Kai's sister is like everyone else in there?' Tyson asked again and again.

'Has Kai talked about his sister bad way?' Dickenson asked.

'Umm, no,' Max wondered.

'We'll just have to wait. Practise beyblading in the meantime,' Dickenson suggested and kids nodded.

-With Walter And Others-

'So, that was Christian. The brother,' Walter said after sitting down in the car.

'Did you get the feeling that we are in a hurry?' Faith asked.

'I did too,' Dylan agreed.

'Yeah. Something tells me that they are hiding something which is why they aren't telling us their names,' Walter nodded agreeing.

'Could Kai know?' Dylan wondered while turning the car engine on.

'He might but I doubt he will tells us if we ask him. It looks like the truth comes out naturally,' Walter said.

'What do you suggest then?' Faith asked.

'It looks like Tyson and others have offered Kai and his sister place to stay. I wonder if we let them be, we might learn something new that way. Of course, we need to follow other leads too,' Walter said.

'Let's do that then,' Dylan said as they continued driving towards the station.

-With Tyson And Others In The Hotel Room-

'He really pissed me off! No wonder Kai has complained about him,' Tyson said as he dropped down on the bed.

'You were little out of line too. Yelling at them almost immediately,' Kenny recalled while sitting down himself.

'They pissed me off. I agree with my dad even more now. I hope Kai agrees and just ditches them for good,' Tyson stated firmly.

'We will have to wait and see then,' Max said. He hated the feeling he got from Rick and even Christian was creepy.

'Why would Christian hide that massive secret behind his parents' deaths? Are we even sure it's true? He was a very small child back then!' Tyson pointed out.

'I agree with you Tyson but let's leave it for now,' Bruce reminded. He didn't like that fact either and if it was true, something nasty had been happening behind closed doors. In the end Bruce did hope he would learn about what happened that day but who knows if he'll ever know.
