Vampires among humans again? What are they thinking?
Chapter 11: Among Humans Again
-With Kai-
Sara was happy that others had returned even though there hadn't been any problems, but they didn't look happy.
'Did something go wrong?' Sara asked as others in the mansion arrived too, Tina and Lara.
'We might have a clue but someone had tipped that police that we were coming. They appeared there, questioned Rick about his real name, Sir about his name and pretty much everything else,' Mike piled the answer one after another and told everything had went on.
'Seriously?!' Sara watched with wide eyes.
'Either a mole or someone with bad sense of humour,' Christian said while walking upstairs.
'Who would do such a thing?' Sara pondered hard. No one came to mind, like no one at all.
'I can think of one,' Lara snorted.
'We know who you are talking about. Like it's any news,' Rick laughed but there was any humour behind it.
'Please, Sir!' Lara called out and bowed to him at the stairs. Christian stopped walking and turned around and immediately saw how desperate Lara looked.
'I know that this isn't my place but… surely you see it as well? That bas… your brother there has caused us nothing but trouble and it ruined us,' Lara spoke.
'Could you do this when I'm not here?' Kai complained hands crossed.
'More than usual yes but so did everyone else when they first came,' Christian said.
'But he still causes us trouble, sir. I'm not going to say what happened last time as we know it… But now police have your face, they know about your parents slightly, there's a mole, a new enemy… I'm sorry but I think this has gone far enough. You have killed for less,' Lara pointed out.
'We both think you have gone soft and don't… do your own rules just because he's your brother, sir,' Tina bowed slightly too.
'If my opinion is asked, I agree with them. I was trouble last time too with the police and now it's Rick,' Mike added. Christian glanced then Rick and Sara.
'What about you two?' Christian asked.
'They must have been planning this,' Kai sighed in the meantime.
'He has caused trouble… I agree with that,' Rick said after a while.
'That may be but he can't be anywhere else,' Sara said.
'Kai, come,' Christian simply said after that and went to his office. Kai came into the office slowly and watched Christian sit down behind the desk with annoyed and tired look.
'You know… they have a point. What do you think?' Christian said as Kai closed the door.
'If what they said is true, I would say you had gone soft too,' Kai said and stepped closer the desk, 'And they definitely thought about this after you return.'
'You noticed too then,' Christian leaned back in his chair, 'You then might guess what I'm about to do.'
'Oh, sure. Kick me out since no heart to kill. Right?' Kai growled.
'I wouldn't phrase it like that though. I would only ask you to stay away from here a while and see how things progress here,' Christian cleared out.
'That's still the same! Where would I go? I personally think it will cause more trouble,' Kai stated back and put his hands on the desk.
'True but I don't really have a choice here. Majority is speaking against you and to avoid causing conflict among them or against me, I have to listen,' Christian said calmly.
Kai backed away annoyed, 'Alright! Fine! Why bother saving me in the first place?! I don't even like it here!' Kai yelled and headed out towards his ex-room to get his only stuff.
-With Christian-
'Sorry…' Christian whispered just before Sara came in.
'I know what you said but throwing him out?! What will he eat there?' Sara asked furiously.
'You can go with him if you don't like my decision,' Christian growled at Sara and it was the very first time.
'And now you are treating me with no respect to my opinion? You just brushed it off just now,' Sara asked and they could hear here tone wavering.
'Kai can take blood with him if he wants to and you can do whatever you want,' Christian said.
'Sir! You can't just throw us out like that!' Sara yelled.
'I'm throwing HIM out. You can stay or leave,' Christian growled standing up and walking to shelf where he kept his books.
'Why are you acting like that?' Sara asked and went to touch Christian on his shoulder but immediately forgot that. Christian had spun around and punched a wall breaking it. Books from the shelf fell down and there was a huge whole in the wall.
'Get lost!' Christian yelled very angry. Sara bowed quickly and ran outside. She had never seen Christian this angry enough to lose his temper in front of anyone, specially Sara. She in fear backed away from the door too and looked at it a second. Christian was in a state where he would kill anyone who would step on the wrong foot.
-Sara's View-
'Sara?' Mike appeared next to her.
'I would stay away from Sir couple of days. He's on the edge, badly,' Sara warned when she noticed her shaky legs.
'I think he wants you to go also,' Mike said.
'You think or you heard?' Sara frowned.
'Both actually,' Mike shrugged his shoulders with a smile.
'You are acting weird too,' Sara said before walking off.
'Really?' Mike asked mostly from himself before smiling, 'I'll have to watch that.'
-With Kai-
Kai was putting his stuff inside his backpack when there was a knock on the door.
'What?!' Kai angrily opened the door and saw Sara.
'Can I come in?' she asked calmly.
'Not like I can stop you. It's not my room anymore,' Kai backed away from the door and continued backing. He heard Sara close the door but he turned around again when he heard how… scared she sounded first time.
'I tried to talk to Si… Christian about this and he got so angry that… I'm actually afraid of him,' Sara said, 'At the end he told to me get lost too.'
'Seriously? You're the most loyal to him?' Kai asked shocked.
'I don't think I can stay here either. Mind if I tack along?' Sara asked.
'Why… I think you should stay and just stay out of Christian's sight,' Kai said. She had never called Christian by his name before either.
'He can sense us moron and if I stay, I'll just make him angrier if I don't obey his words,' Sara explained.
'Fine, fine, but don't think I have any idea what do out there among… humans,' Kai cringed at the thought which wasn't new.
'I'll go take some clothes and bottles. We do need to take blood with us,' Sara said and quickly out to her own room.
'Even Sara? Christian has totally flipped,' Kai thought as he finished packing. After he was done, Kai headed towards the kitchen where Sara was already with her own carry bag that went over her shoulder and head to her side. She was pouring blood to multiple bottles.
'Here, you take these,' Sara pointed at four bottles on the table as she was putting other four in her other bag. Kai opened his backpack and put the bottles inside tidily without saying anything and put the pack on his right shoulder.
'I think this is the advantage of being siblings with the leader. He's not going to kill you himself,' Tina mocked them from the door.
'What would you know? What if Sir just sends us away until big trouble is over and calls us back?' Sara said with angry tone.
'Whatever. Just go and try not to kill anyone,' Tina brushed her off but she was clearly pissed at that.
'Rick!' Sara called out too and soon Rick appeared to them as they were heading to their jackets.
'What?' he simply asked as Kai and Sara put their jackets on.
'Take care of him, would you?' Sara asked.
'About Sir? Sure, I'll be on his side,' Rick nodded with a friendly smile. They still seemed to care for each other even with this situation. Sara bowed to Rick and followed Kai out closing the door behind them as they left.
'Finally, it's going to be quiet,' Tina celebrated.
'I don't think so. We still have a big problem,' Rick reminded and went upstairs to check on Christian but just by listening through his door. Tina watched him for a second before shook her head and disappeared from sight as well.
-Outside With Kai And Sara-
'Do you want to find some abandoned warehouse or something?' Sara asked as they walked away from the mansion leaving it behind who knows how long.
'No idea,' Kai said without thinking it through. Dickenson's voice did sound in his ear as a reminder of the option he and Bruce had given but he didn't know would it be even possible.
'You clearly have something in mind,' and Sara was quick to point it out.
'Fine,' Kai sighed, 'While everyone else were talking with the police Mr. Dickenson and Bruce, Tyson's father, talked to me and… They offered me a place there,' Kai said.
'What?' Sara asked.
'They said you can come too if we don't want to be there with Christian anymore,' Kai added and stopped walking.
'Do you seriously think we can with them? With humans? You are really nuts,' Sara shook her head and rubbed her neck.
'Probably not. It's not like we can leave this place unless there are people like us in other countries,' Kai agreed with Sara there. Tyson and others were humans and there they would be easily exposed.
'Are you wearing contact lenses now?' Sara asked suddenly.
Yes, like always,' Kai sighed annoyed.
'Do you still have red eyes?' Sara asked curiously.
'I… don't know. I have managed to take them out and put them in without a mirror for a while now,' Kai felt stupid. He could have checked his eyes every time if he changed them in front of the mirror.
'Take them out,' Sara gestured and Kai did it without putting a fight since he was curious too about their natural colour. He opened his eyes and looked at Sara calmly.
'It looks like you are gaining control with yourself at least,' Sara smiled happily.
'Huh? Do you mean…' Kai touched under his eyes slowly.
'Yes. They are not red anymore. Maybe a hint of red left but a human wouldn't see it,' Sara said and carefully took Kai's hand, 'Maybe we can go to the humans but only for a while. I don't like the idea of them but maybe it's because I haven't been around humans like that for who knows how long.'
'Right,' Kai took his hand away and continued walking leading the way to the hotel. Night was already far enough to everyone to sleep but maybe they can head to the hall at least. Clock was little over 2 am as they arrived at the hotel and stepped inside. There was no movement and only receptionist was at the desk who turned the gaze towards them. Kai nodded and just went to sit down with Sara who looked nervous the second time around.
'It's weird seeing you nervous,' Kai said as he put his backpack down.
'I know that feeling since I saw Christian angry,' Sara said.
'I thought you have seen him angry before, didn't you?' Kai pondered.
'Yeah, but usually I would see the starting process and avoid it by leaving early most of the time. This time though… he just snapped at it hasn't happened before. Which is why I think things are serious and sending us away has some kind of meaning,' Sara spoke her thoughts out.
'Meaning? He wanted to throw us for something else than he lead us on?' Kai asked puzzled.
'If I want to think positively, then yes. But if I speak how I see it, then no. I don't know,' Sara took her phone out, 'I do miss Christian from back then. He was different when it was just the two of us.'
'Are you sure you want to talk about this? We are not actually that close,' Kai said.
'I think we need to fix that. I believe more trouble is coming and we can't be divided now,' Sara replied and closed the photo of her and Christian.
'How? Are you going to spill the beans and tell me your life story or something?' Kai asked. He had his usual cold tone and he kind of missed it.
'Maybe some day but not here. Have you ever had visions of any kind?' Sara changed the subject quickly.
'No, how could I?' Kai answered.
'Since Christian is your donor, his powers transfer you too. Basically, we can have our own powers but some are the same from the vampire who turned you. You already have quick speed and there is a chance for getting the visions too, although it doesn't seem to feel nice,' Sara said.
'What did you get then since he's your donor too?' Kai asked.
'My own thing is invisibility but I also have fast speed from him too but I didn't inherit the visions or controlling time, people's memories or other stuff,' Sara spoke quietly.
'I thought Rick had time freeze or something?' Kai questioned.
'Powers can be the same. Rick can stop time from certain area for few minutes or ten minutes. Christian can do that too but longer, wider area or just only one thing. Rick can only the general area,' Sara cleared out.
'Christian seems… over powerful,' Kai stated to himself mostly.
'That's why he became the leader in the first place,' Sara said since she heard Kai's sentence.
'If powers were like that, then was our mother that powerful? Wasn't she the one who turned Christian?' Kai wondered.
'That's what he told me too,' Sara pondered a while, 'Is it possible that he lied about it too?!' she asked at the end with wide eyes.
'I don't think I was ever able to trust his words. He seems to be master manipulator no powers needed,' Kai stated and closed his eyes. It seemed better to just try to relax before morning anyway. Sara appeared to go through her own thoughts and she probably wanted to think everything through what Christian had told her and what had happened so far.
-With Tyson And Others In The Morning-
Tyson was still fast a sleep around 10 am but Max came and tried to wake him up without success. Kenny had went to get grandfather since he was able to wake him up every time.
'Practise time!' grandfather yelled and sure enough, Tyson woke up by falling down from the bed.
'Grandpa! How many times I have told you not to do that!' Tyson yelled but yawned soon after.
'We tried to wake you up. We should go eat breakfast when we still can,' Max said.
'Oh right,' Tyson said happily and put on quickly his clothes. Others watched smiling how fast Tyson moved as Bruce came from the door.
'What's up little man,' grandfather said.
'I'm not little anymore but boys,' Bruce said.
'What dad?' Tyson said after putting his shoes on.
Want to guess who are at the hall?' Bruce asked. With that Tyson forgot the food, ran downstairs and even beat the elevator which was also coming down. He immediately saw Dickenson sitting at the sofa's with… Kai and some girl. Others saw them as well after arriving behind Tyson.
'Kai!' Tyson called out happily. It looked like had sense after all and ditched the morons.
'Morning Tyson,' Dickenson spoke though, 'Kai you know and this is his big sister, Sara.'
'Does she have the same problem than with that Christian jerk? You know, police record not being there?' Tyson cleared his question not to appear rude.
'Yes. Father had removed her too from it,' Dickenson nodded. Tyson noticed their bags and smiled little bit.
'Are they staying with us then?' Kenny asked as he and Max walked closer.
'Did they ditch those morons? No offense,' Tyson asked.
'Not in that sense, no,' Dickenson replied and it confused others.
'What do you mean?' Tyson asked.
'Short story, Christian kicked them out after a fight about… What was it again?' Bruce pondered.
'Kicking Kai out of causing trouble and me for defending him,' Sara said.
'Causing trouble? Those rules again or something?' Tyson frowned.
'He's… very strict about them. It wasn't a surprise though but we decided to leave him for a while and wait for him to calm down. I will ask Rick after a few days about it,' Sara said.
'Why not just stay away?' Tyson asked.
'Because he's my big brother and I care about him. I won't leave him alone forever and he knows it too,' Sara explained.
'Family is important. I don't mean to put in but can I ask a question or two?' Bruce said and Sara nodded.
'Are you aware of Rick's… lack of respect for life or truth behind your parents murder or how things are done in the mansion?' Bruce asked.
'I know since I have been a part of it a long time too. Kai's the newest in family business and since he… messed up a little, he was kicked out,' Sara said. Kai didn't personally want to tell them anything but he was sure Sara knew what she was doing.
'New? Right, let's leave it at that as promised. I'm going to order you a room you can stay in,' Bruce nodded and headed to the receptionist.
'Since you're here now though, let's have a bey match and a proper one. Please?' Tyson asked.
'Tyson!' Kenny pulled Tyson back and away from Kai's face.
'Not now,' Kai stated, 'If it's possible, don't tell that cop we are here at least yourselves.'
'Why? They might want to talk Sara too,' grandfather wondered.
'If they come and have a warrant than yes. But only then,' Kai said. Adults just nodded agreeing since they didn't see problems with it. Tyson and others were told to go eat while Kai and Sara went to their hotel room on their own. It was a waiting game for a moment.
I hope you enjoyed :)
