Chapter 35
"Master Tachi, Padawan Olin, we have decided you are to protect the Senator of Naboo. This is not the first assassination attempt and many doubt it would be the last so it is time for the Jedi to get involved with the Republic and do something about this behavior." Master of the Order Saesee Tiin speaks, leaning forward in his seat, where's his hands rests on both sides.
"Don't the Senator have any bodyguards?" It is not that Ferus would not carry out the commands of the Jedi Council nor help the life of the innocent, but he doesn't enjoy the thought of babysitting a politician especially since many of them who he have encountered were nothing short of uncaring and selfish. They are always shady individuals short to speak, and he has little doubts that this one will be different.
"Yes, but that has proven to be less then successful as of late, Ferus," Siri replies, placing a hand on his shoulder reassuring as she always is. "Naboo is already viewing us in a darker light for our refusal to get involved in the last war, and if the Senator is killed, their views of us would only be further tainted."
"Indeed," Ki-Adi-Mundi agrees, knowing all too well about the rising tension between Naboo, the Jedi, and the Republic. "We need to show common people that the Jedi Order is still as effective as we once were. Protecting this Senator could be a signal to them that we are still the peacekeepers of the galaxy."
"The Senator of Naboo needs to be contacted," Coleman Trebor declares.
Each within the Council Chambers agree, and so they begin contacting the Senator of Naboo. Alongside the woman are two armored women that looks similar to her, showing that they are either hired guns or are her handmaidens. Their expressions alone appear to be piercing through the members of the Council, but the Senator herself keeps it professional.
"Greetings, Senator, we of the Jedi Council would like to inform you that we are sending two Jedi to protect you," Saesee Tiin informs them.
One of the woman scoffs, coming forward which is certainly out of protocol but the Senator doesn't reprimand her. "Let me guess, you are here to observed and do what you can before reporting your findings to the Council. I have been through this bullshit one time before and I would like to inform you that she is safe with me."
"While that may be true," Shaak Ti says, unmoved by the woman's quite unexceptionally rude tone, "it is only so long before you fail. At the very least, with the Council involved, she would have the Jedi present to protect her and would be able to inform the rest of us should something go off check."
"She doesn't need any Jedi bodyguards. She needs answers. I would find them along with who is trying to kill her." The same woman retorts pointedly. "You Jedi always have a tendency to talk but yet disprove yourselves when given a chance to actually seem like you care about us in the known galaxy when we all know that the only thing you care about is your precious Force. I am not foolish enough to believe you would try to protect us without there being a catch at the very least."
"We are not sure what we have done to warrant such a response from you," Yarael Poof proclaims, deciding to come into this conversation despite how much exclusive and muted he rather be during these types of Council Meetings. "We do hope that your mind would be changed by the Jedi after us proving that we would be able to protect your Senator. We care for all lives despite your beliefs, and we would not hesitate to protect as many of them as we possibly can."
The woman laughs, clearly mockingly despite herself. "I find that impossible, I'm afraid, not when you failed to protect us in the last war. Just know this, Jedi, just because Naboo still trusts you don't mean that I do. Far from it, we of the Naboo am not wrapped around your finger nor would arrogantly deceive ourselves into believing that you care for us."
"Why are you not happy with us protecting her?" Ferus snaps at her back, unable to take this blatant disrespect and lack of understanding against the Jedi, earning the attention of the Jedi and the Naboo party. Though the moment the woman who spoken eyes are set on him, it is as if her eyes were going to burn his soul alive. "We are trying to protect your Senator but you are the one creating problems and seemingly attempting to avoid negotiation."
"Choose to protect her or not, but she is not leaving my sight regardless," the woman snaps back. "I have been on the battlefield, child, and you have not so you best read your child books before you dare to come and try to state you understand us when you don't know absolute shit."
Master Yaddle grimaces. "Understand that you of Naboo has lost trust in the Republic, we do. Unwarranted, it is, but understandable. Your world, raided by threats we didn't assist in stopping from ascending to power. Wronged, you were, and hope to amend it, we do."
"Try to amend it to the dead people who families lost a loved one because you were too weak and ineffective to save the people who you have sworn an oath to," she corrects harshly, glaring into the eyes of the small Jedi. "When you Jedi actually show a damn about common life, we can talk, but until then, we have nothing more to say to each other."
The call is disconnected, leaving each in the silence of the Council Chambers.
"Well, she certainly sounds like a wonderful person to be around," Ferus quips, breaking the awkward silence. It is a settlement that many Jedi agreed especially since some people would feel safe around the members of the Order, but there will always be those most people who views them otherwise.
"You may have broken us away from any peace building between us and Naboo, Ferus," Siri replies softly, deciding to use this moment as a teaching moment for her old apprentice. "While you may not disagree with the ways of the Jedi, many within the public do, viewing us as fools and ineffective in the galaxy, but we wish to prove that we do care about the lives of the innocent."
"Yes, Master," Ferus responds obediently, knowing that his Master is right about how the Jedi is viewed, but also knowing that the Jedi despite how slow they could be at times do try to help. "I wouldn't allow my emotions about this Order to blind me again, and you have my apologies, Master."
"Highly doubt, the Senator or the Queen of Naboo would take this personally, I do." Far from rest of the Council, Master Yoda appears rather amused at the Jedi Padawan. He is quite the troll at time which earned him the title of 'little green toad' throughout this era. "Petty, that would be, and they both know this despite their personal beliefs to the Jedi."
"Master Yoda is correct," Master Coleman Trebor agrees, his aura as always peaceful and full of serenity but his tone suggesting heavy sorts of amusement as well though his eyes may suggest otherwise. "While many of them would not admit it, they would need our assistance, and on the meantime, I can speak with the Chancellor about our plans to protect many of the Senators in the Senate without causing any misconceptions or misunderstandings."
Ferus and Siri bow before walking out of the Council Chambers, leaving the Masters behind to go about and proceed with their respective mission.
"It is about time we get involved," Siri says, and the Jedi Padawan has to admit frowning at her for that sentence. Upon sending his inquisitive stare to her which she notices, the Jedi Master decides to explain what she just said: "Many believed us to be the murderers of Senator Palpatine of Naboo and us protecting politicians would regain the trust of the people which would be a good thing for the upcoming future and the conflicts that is to come."
"I'm sure the Council has their reasons for silence, Master," Ferus replies, as always racing to defend the Council, even against his own Master. "Suggesting otherwise is as if we are losing belief in the Force and our roles as keepers of the peace. We must trust in their wisdom and beliefs in what we do next."
Siri smiles and nods. "I see that you are becoming a far better Jedi than myself, Ferus. Continue to act like that, and you might be on the Jedi Council in a matter of three years at least."
Ferus chuckles. "I'm too young to become a Master on the Council, Master."
Padmé's views on life has changed throughout the years. No longer is she someone who believes that battles can be peacefully resolved when in reality the only thing that solve the battle is fighting both within the battlefield but behind it. If she had a standing army like the one she is building now, the Trade Federation wouldn't stand a chance.
The Trade Federation has been growing stronger, but should they invade as they did back several years ago, they would find themselves encountering major resistance. The next time she sees Nute Gunray, she would not be as merciful as she was. It is due to him that Naboo was almost wiped out and that the entire planet can be misconceived as a barren wasteland at this point.
"You do know about what to do, right?"
Lussa Dit is a Senator who has black hair and green eyes with a fair skin color. She is becoming quite the perfect little Senator for Naboo who speaks openly out against the Jedi Order and the Republic even from afar. While Padmé didn't have any problem with the food Senator representing Naboo, she can tell that the younger woman is beginning to hate to respectfully acknowledge the Jedi Order when they have caused so many to perish.
Both the Jedi and the Republic needed change, and until then, Padmé would never condone their presences to be a beacon of light for what Naboo once do.
"Yes, however, we are better suited in protecting you," Padmé replies, crossing her arms across her chest and leaning against the wall, her two pair of brown eyes softening around the Senator. She would never speak against someone in a rude manner when they don't deserve it.
"Padmé, I heard about the tales of Naboo and I know you are cautious of them and have the right to be so," Dit replies sternly, "but how long until my life is threatened again? How long until lightsaber wielders start coming for me? Even the likes of you cannot defeat them all, Padmé."
Padmé knows deep down she is correct. Despite the Jedi being entirely ineffective in the battle, they also had a part in defending her and her court on Naboo. On that part, she can be grateful to them for that, but had they chosen to get more involved in the war, perhaps more lives would have been sparred as an aftermath of that battle.
"Come, let us greet the Jedi," Padmé is trying to sound somewhat kindly but is finding herself failing. All of the Jedi are the same, and it is only so long before they fail the Senator.
"I am Siri Tachi; this is my Padawan Learner, Ferus Olin," Siri Tachi greets, standing in line with the Jedi Padawan following behind her.
"You can dispense with the pleasantries, Jedi, for none of us here give a kark about who you are," Padmé interjects, her body motions stiff. It has been many years since she has last spoken to a Jedi or any trained Force User in particular. "I just want to know why the Jedi Order thought it wise to send a Master with just a boy with the responsibility to protect the Senator."
"I am not just a boy," the younger Jedi responds, his eyes glaring at her, his ego obviously abused. "And for your information, if you are so good at protecting the Senator, we wouldn't be here. While we don't mean to be intrusive, you would do well to remember that only through the Force that we would be able to protect the Senator."
"Yet was it your mysterious Force who managed to save the palace of Naboo many years back?" Rabé states from behind them. "Those codes and orders are outdated. We would not trust you again."
"It is the Senator herself that suggests we doesn't use more methods that would keep her protected," Padmé agrees tightly, now staring at the younger Jedi who may have some meters over her but she could easily slam him onto the ground if she wanted to. "So, bite your tongue, tiny Jedi, or you may lose it with believing that we are obligated to respect you"
"You'd better be successful in keeping Naboo safe this time," the Senator growls, her hands placed behind her back. "Our trust in the Order have been damaged since what happened last time."
"Only fools trust you," Eirtaé adds.
"But given our recent conflict, many of us call the Jedi Order into question, but we do not wish to allow this meeting to be biased against the Jedi," she continues.
"You should be careful around them," Padmé declares, glaring into the eyes of the Jedi despite this. "But while I have been told to respect you, I would not allow them to put you in further jeopardy. Their presence here would draw out the bounty hunters to do rash actions and I have a suspicion I know who is involved."
"While my comrades may disagree with this course of action, I for one am glad that you are here, Master Jedi. Perhaps you being here would send a message to the assassins for not only us but the Senator's allies." Captain Typho is not just a friend but he is a brother in arms. He too has faced the scarring of Naboo especially since his uncle, Captain Panaka, had been one of many who have fallen into battle so he would have rather had the investigation in his own hands.
While Typho is nowhere as lethal as her, Padmé would have to admit that she would have rather have him be the one who is protecting the Senator too. The Jedi would do nothing but cause trouble and wish to avoid conflict, settling on stupid negotiation, and Typho would actually prove some competence and prepared to draw arms.
"I disagree, my old friend. We are all the protection she needs." Sabé retorts, also having face the similar experience to her and knowing what it is like to lose everything. Sabé is the only one who would back her through anything, her loyalty unlike anyone else. Even unlike her own family.
Padmé stares into the eyes of the Jedi before her gaze lands onto the Senator. She knows that, despite her beliefs, she would have to listen and follow behind the Queen and Senator.
Greedy traitors are wishing to get to the new Senator and compromising Naboo enough for them to gain control, to rule the planet with it being a peacekeeper planet that for all intent and purposes doesn't have a standing army...
Not happening.
She knows on top of all of those traitors that came to mind, Viceroy Nute Gunray is the one she would have to watch out, especially once the Neimoidians have failed to secure Naboo years back. It is possible that the Viceroy may no longer care about invading Naboo but rather abolishing the planets from the shadows.
Next time, Padmé sees that Neimoidian, she would skin him alive and finally secure Naboo once and for all. She already has plans to help Naboo get stronger but this takes time, and neither the Jedi, the Republic, or the CIS would see it coming.
But she knows that she and her loyal friends would lose this verbal battle. The Jedi was sent here by the Jedi Order and their presences may be a nuisance, but she has to admit that there is no better plan.
"Fine. If you wish to have the Jedi in full authorization of your protection let us see how impressive they are."
Upon dismissing all of them, Padmé walks to the back, not able to tolerate the Jedi's false peacekeeping presence any longer. She sees Dané, one of the ladies that greatly distaste the Republic and the Jedi Order, even more so than Padmé. She has lost a lot of good friends in the palace but she hasn't taken it too lightly.
"Why are the Jedi here?" Dané queries darkly.
"Only temporarily," Padmé replies, not blaming the lady for disliking the Jedi. She'd rather see them away from them.
"The fact that the Senator believes they can keep her safe is foolish. We are all the protection that she needs." Dané replies, her lip curled in absolute distaste.
"She is not a fool," Padmé responds. "She only wishes to keep herself safe, and even I have to admit that we cannot control everything."
Dané snorts. "I hope she doesn't get herself killed in the process."
Padmé agrees, "Neither do I."
Tarkin knows that he would have to raise distrust to Darth Plagueis on both parties. He cannot allow the CIS the Muun has underneath his fingertips to become a renewed party that would seek to avenge the Muun's eventual death when he finally has enough of an army to destroy the Sith Lord and all his allies.
That is why he is going before Gunray right now instead of talking with the few allies that he has managed to recruit in the past or sitting in his office currently and handling with the paperwork.
Behind him, Lama Su follows, standing in line behind the Governor. Undoubtedly, Tarkin has earned his respect as well as loyalty with the simple promise of money which he shall pull through despite how his Empire would be strong enough to crush all oppositions. He would always need the Clone Army to serve as his use for wiping out the pathetic Force Users in the galaxy.
The Governor walks up to the Neimoidians Guards, gladden that he has managed to finally seized this opportunity.
"Your name?" One Guard inquires.
"Tarkin," he replies, "and I wish to speak with Viceroy Gunray. He is in incredible danger, and I have seen it wise to bring it to his attention about the motives of our Sith allies."
The Neimoidians appear apprehensive before both walk into the back without a word and come back out seconds later, Nute Gunray in tow. There are droids flanking him, undoubtedly for safety reasons. When you are someone as powerful as Gunray, you would wish to have someone who always get to you.
"Viceroy," Tarkin declares, bowing before the Viceroy, wishing to gain his trust as he did with the Kaminoans. "My name is Governor Tarkin and this is Prime Minister Lama Su, and he has something to tell you."
The Kaminoan, for the first time, steps in front of Tarkin, also bowing his head respectfully at the Viceroy before placing both hands behind his back. The Clone Master is not someone who is easily moved in his experience of the Cloner which is a reason why he would serve a use to Tarkin's future plans.
"I am here to inform you that we have a standing army, all conditioned by a rogue Jedi Master who we only joined because of a war against unnamed enemies. We'd never knew that army would be exploited against you. Now we are in control of Darth Plagueis who seeks to control our armies in order for rise of his own power." The Prime Minister declares. His soothing voice is definitely sending chills through the Viceroy.
"I am asking for proof," Gunray replies, unable to cease staring up at the taller figure.
"I have seen through my own eyes what Darth Plagueis has planned for you all," Tarkin announces, producing a recording device and playing back what have been recorded behind the Sith Lord's.
The voice appears muffled but they could comprehend what they are saying:
"He failed us!"
"Of course he did; the senator's guards have lured him into a trap, unknowingly challenging him so he wouldn't be able to fight and ending him immediately. He has been an idiot for thinking that such an assassination would have been simple."
"You knew?"
"Of course. No person as intelligent as the senator would have been gullible enough not to check her security recordings. Queen Amidala and her former handmaidens were there to intercept and pose as means of bodyguards. These are veterans of Naboo who have encountered war itself and seen what it could do to a person as well as being far more cautious, for they have learned much from Vader himself."
"They must be eliminated then too. We could not allow them to stand in the way for any of our future plans to be successful."
"Oh, but why do you wish death among the senator? While she stands for Naboo and democracy, no mere senator such as her would be able to stop our rising darkness. If she does, we shall do away with her."
"You know the Trade Federation demands her head on a silver platter as for revenge after Gunray's attempts on Naboo have been a failure."
"We mustn't dwell on that inconsequential planet any longer. The viceroy of the Trade Federation is beginning to become a feeble issue who believes that subverting his foolish authority over us would, at last, allow him to be granted with the opportunity of killing a broken Queen of Naboo and the senator just to fracture the planet further. While I have little doubt that Naboo would grieve over their deaths, they would recover and grow stronger. Underestimating the people in the galaxy is a mistake that many of my predecessors have made."
"The senator would have to die or else we would have more difficulties in recruiting more systems to our cause. Either that, or you wish to doom our entire plans just before they have begun."
Although it doesn't seem as if, Tarkin has been watching the look of Nute Gunray the whole time. He can see the warring emotions across his face, ranging from his ego immediately being wounded, to rage, to absolute fury at what was just said. Soon, he would have yet another ally at his side in his future Empire, one that command his Droid Army alongside the Clones.
"As this shows," Tarkin says just as the recording device comes to an end, and he pockets the device, enjoying the look of fear across his eyes, "my suspicions were confirmed. There is a Sith army on the horizon who would destroy us all if we do not proceed carefully but that doesn't mean all hope is lost. Plagueis does not yet know about my choice in defying him and he would not be able to discover until it is too late. Allow the Jedi and the Sith to go about in their confrontation but we could win as we spread thinly and fight an army with both the Clones and the Sith. We do not need to be their servants when we could ride above them and have a hand in both armies."
"And what about your ally, Chancellor Mas Amedda?" The Kaminoan queries, also falling into his treachery which only grates onto his amusement. Even someone as intelligent and impassive as him is not incapable of falling under his manipulation. "What would you do about him?"
"He is a slave to the Sith and would join them only because he sees an opportunity to overthrow the Republic. He is none the wiser but he would be dealt with soon after we decide to make ourselves known. Have your Clones and Droids train among one another, learn on the battlefield, and they would eventually rise to become the greatest treat. They could be brainwashed and controlled so they would know when the time comes for us to rise to power." Tarkin's speech appears to inspire both of them. He cannot wait until he is addressing the entire Republic with that same tone.
"You suggest we join allies but in hiding?" Nute Gunray asks, staring over at the Kaminoan who is staring back with equal shock. "Are you certain that the Sith would not sense our change in allegiance and stop us before it is too late?"
"Truthfully, I cannot assure you that we would not be discovered," Tarkin admits, though he doesn't limit himself to show any emotion of fear, not willing to accept death as a possibility. "But I rather have my chances up to live and construct an Empire within our own title instead of having those animals in control. The Jedi and the Sith would have to be slain for our Empire to be in control, unopposed, and it happened before in history. And it can happen if we have the standing army to squash all opposition."
"How can the Jedi and Sith be killed without the opposite side being beneficial in one another's descent?" Nute Gunray asks, still fearful but now falling under the manipulations of the Governor. "The Jedi proved that they cannot be killed and neither can the Sith. It has to be due to one or another.
"Allow me to demonstrate," Tarkin says, going to the ship and returning with two Senate Guards, those who have also joined him and would serve a great use.
What gains the attention of everyone is the cuffed young Mirialan who is shoved forward by twenty other Senate Guards, those who have also joined him, and the whimpering of the young Jedi who have been captured. Oh, how fun it is for him to hold all the cards and eventually would be able to do this with many more captured Force Users.
"Poor little Jedi, painfully trained in his Force which have been severed from him and captured by my allies," Tarkin says, pacing around the Jedi and rubbing the back of his head. "He has been brought to me by my guards, oblivious that he would never be able to see the Jedi Order again but would also prove to be an instrument for me which is why the poor little Jedi have lived as long as it is."
"You won't get away with this. The Jedi Council would find out who you really are and stop you, even if I am dead." The Mirialan says, glaring at them with resolve, trying to pass off that he is not fearing death. If eyes can burn, Tarkin is absolutely certain that him and his allies would be dead.
"Remove his cuffs," Tarkin says, allowing the Jedi to feel the Force once more and Force Pushing the Governor, seizing each of the Guards and throwing them back.
He reaches for where he must have sensed his weapon is located, activating it and standing before all of them, his green lightsaber illuminating the air, the glow reflecting off all of them now.
Tarkin grins from his position on the floor before standing back up, motioning for all of his men to open fire with him firing his own blaster. The Jedi deflects each of the blaster bolts and is attempting to fight back, but the Guards and Governor continues to evade his efforts, their own bolts causing a strain in his hands. While he is clutching his green lightsaber and is able to move, one of the blaster bolts eventually manage to slip pass his defensive and shins him into the shoulder, causing him to grimace only slightly but also exploiting the others the chance to fire at non mortal areas and at last shoot the weapon out of his hands.
"See, my friends," Tarkin says mockingly, smirking at him as if he is a homework assignment, despite his disoriented appearance and the hair going down his face along with the strands of sweat coursing down his face. "One doesn't need their pitiful Force to be all powerful but rather the numbers and capabilities of competence which we would have when we gain control of the Republic. To know an enemy, you must learn them, their weaknesses, wear them down enough that would grant you the advantage."
Tarkin clicks his tongue three times, just as the Jedi attempts to recover when he steps on his throat, causing him to begin to squirm, but the Governor remains unaffected.
"The truth is there are many ways to kill a Jedi, even without the present of a standing army. Slugthrowers - Slugthrower weaponry pose a threat. Instead of firing lasers, they fire 'slugs' or bullets. They have shatter slug and flak shell while the Scoundrel smuggler has a scattergun which is a slugthrower shotgun. The important thing about slugthrowers is that lightsabers don't deflect slugs. Instead, a high-powered chunk of metal is going to travel straight through a lightsaber blade and also get superheated, so now they have molten metal coming at them instead.
Explosives also fit here. If they can't reflect your missiles/explosive shells, they're in for a bad time. Flamethrowers/Poison/Etc. - Any sort of 'alternative' weaponry can give you an advantage over Force users. Some Force users are able to negate the effects of poison or fire on the body, but it's a lot harder to focus on using the Force when you're burning or choking. Range - Force Users have a strange tendency to use laser swords, which are great when they're in your face but pretty useless when you're sniping them from the other side of the battlefield and, if they don't know you're attacking, they're unlikely to be able to defend themselves. Stealth - Alternatively, you can go the sneaky route. That's riskier since you have to get closer to them, but it's not like Jedi and Sith are immune to a vibroknife any more than anyone else, if you can get close to them without alerting them."
As Tarkin is continuing his monologue, each listens attentively, not wishing to question this man who have just shown something that he can easily break a Jedi.
"However, you wish to phrase it, Jedi are beatable," Tarkin says, kneeling down and grasping hold of the Jedi by his cheek. "People with high willpower can override a mind trick. Many are just too determined to fall for it. However, some species are more or less vulnerable to mind tricks. Apparently, Nikto are naturally very easy to control while other creatures like Hutts or Toydarians can be naturally immune to mind tricks. Cunning, being the best at what they do, and not playing to the Force strengths is a method that could be their undoing. There are techniques that would be able to avert their Force Powers. Jedi can be fought-Jedi can be killed, and don't believe that their Force would be able to stop all of us."
On that last word, Tarkin open fire one last time against the Jedi's head and sends him onto the floor, dead. He motions over to two of his Guards, who move quickly and seize the dead Jedi by his arms and legs.
"Consider my words," Tarkin at last concludes the meeting, moving to the ship with the Kaminoan, leaving Nute Gunray behind to think about that day.
For the rest of his life, Obi-Wan Kenobi would wonder if things would have turned better or worse if he made another choice that day. Hindsight isn't really helpful. It wouldn't be long before he figured out that things might have turned very, very differently. That at least in the short term he would have been hunted.
All those things are obvious, yet none of them helped him figure out if he made the right choice that day in his later years. There would be nights in the future when he would retire in bed wondering if his relationship with the love of his life wouldn't be so rocky if he chooses to kill Vader. If he had fled and eventually joined the Jedi once more.
Perhaps he should have killed him. Perhaps he should have run from this new life and tried to escape his problems. Then he might have ended up walking a different path, one that wouldn't eventually lead him into a love/hate relationship with his future wife… and no matter what happened to the rest of the galaxy, it might have been worth it. Or perhaps doing so would have doomed him.
Kenobi never know, yet kept wondering till his dying day. He often dreamed of that day, of making another choice.
Yet, perhaps it didn't matter in the end.
Even years later in his final days, Obi-Wan remembers quietly refusing the opportunity that rested before him, knowing that such a chance would never be presented before him once more. Vader turned the lightsaber away from him upon seeing that Kenobi wasn't going to seize the advantage not offered to many, and relocated it onto his belt. No further words had been exchanged between them as Vader walked out, his very presence oblivious to Kenobi for not the first kriffing time.
He knows that deep down he is bonded to Vader. Kenobi is forced to accept it. He knows that any attempts of denial would be useless. If he kills Vader, he would truly be lost, a being forced to roam the galaxy with many calling for his death and others regarding him as if he is an obliteration.
Disturbing as it is, Kenobi finds himself wanting Jedi blood, and he is wondering if he is slowly becoming a dysfunctional animal. Those memories of Tatooine only are making him angrier, giving him new hallucinations of chopping off Windu's head, bringing it in front for his former allies to see...
Kenobi has been laying on that bed for two standard days before he is authorized to go to the ship, leaving behind the factory and prepared to return to the very planet which his very life shattered forever. Good. At the very least, he would be able to train and hopefully acquire a new lightsaber after his has been destroyed...
Kenobi is surprised when he goes to his quarters and spot a bacta tank at the corner of the room accompanied with robots. Vader has been busy, it seems, but now that this is his new life, the former Padawan would have to accustom to being in those kriffing things a lot.
"Master Kenobi."
Obi-Wan clenches his hands up into fists at his side.
"Yes?"
"Whenever you wish to enter this bacta tank, we are to assist you."
Kenobi nods. "Aid me."
In a split of a minute, Kenobi's clothes are removed from him, as he enters the bacta tank. He feels himself floating as if he is being dragged out of the hell his entire galaxy is now, his body honestly a preferable sensation compared to what have been his new life, and he feels his eyes slowly closing.
As his world is consumed by blackness, Kenobi feels as if he is being drift into another world, one sparred of violence and death as well as the pain that is now a countless companion of his.
