Chapter 19: Vampires?!

-With Kai And Sara At The Same Time-

'You told them, didn't you?' Kai growled when he sensed Sara coming closer. He had run into the park from others. He was sitting on the bench in the middle of the park.

'They would have found about it anyway later and maybe…' Sara trailed off at the end but Kai knew what she wanted and hoped.

'Maybe score points for Christian? Get him look good in their eyes?' Kai continued her sentence.

'Obviously. Sir is not a bad person and cares for us,' Sara sat down next to Kai who simply grunted.

'Cares? Right… He cares for those who do as he says. Period,' Kai shook his head and stood up. He didn't want to hear this same conversation again.

'You know that is not true,' Sara sighed annoyed, 'I really shouldn't say this but don't forget what happens when you don't do as he says.'

'Are you really fucking blind? Did you really change your morals because he told you to?' Kai saw Sara's demeaner change and Kai was clearly pushing wrong buttons.

'Yes, I did. And why?' Sara stood up and narrowed her eyes, 'Because we are not humans anymore and never will be.'

'And you need to be controlled apparently because if you're allowed to what you want, someone ends up dead,' Sara added, 'For the record, we are allowed to make our own decisions in the mansion. We are NOT puppets!'

'You don't fool me,' Kai stated back.

'Idiot! I've had enough of your attitude. I tried to be nice and understand you but I think you need to be the one in control, not Sir!' Sara shouted back.

'You don't even call him by his real name! Sir this, Sir that! You treat him like a boss, not a brother!' and Kai yelled back. Luckily for them there wasn't anyone in the park or near it for the moment. Without a word Sara grabbed her backpack and put it on.

'Unless you have noticed, this conversation can go on forever and stay the same in the future unless you realize what you are. But I'm not going to wait for that,' she cleared out.

'Fucking bullshit! I bet you were just told to watch me anyway! Doing what bastard tells you!' Kai was pissed. He already knew why Sara was staying next to him from the beginning. Not even once he thought that they would treat him like a sibling.

'I really wonder why Ray cared for you in the first place. You don't show respect to other people,' Sara left Kai there standing dumbfounded as she left without looking back.

She needed time for herself to calm down, so that she would be able to handle Kai's attitude more. He needed to realize soon that vampires don't need human morals. Hopefully people wouldn't walk into the park now since Kai might go unstable again. If his emotions run wild, he might lose control.

She was so occupied in her own thoughts and didn't see Blade Sharks walking into the park.

-With Kai-

He watched Sara leave without another word but Kai was staring into space. Did he need to be in control? Kai didn't know but that wasn't on his mind. Why did Ray wanted to help him? Or others in that matter at right now?

Kai didn't feel like he deserved it in the first place but Sara's words only strengthened that feeling. He felt he was alone when he was among Bladebreakers in the first place too and same thing here. He didn't treat them like friends… Even when he tried to push them away, Ray died… Kai didn't do what he was told by someone who had been a vampire for centuries and got his teammate killed… Killed a small kid…

'Why did you kill me?' Kai heard someone speak. Looking around he didn't see anything.

'I died… You live… That's not right.' Kai heard it again.

'Who's there?!' Kai yelled out but then felt something behind him.

'Why? I tried to help you… but you killed me.' Kai glanced behind him but there wasn't anyone. He looked around frantically but only saw trees, bushes and the park itself empty.

'I was your friend.'

'Because of you I died.'

'Why?'

'Hunter wanted to kill you.'

'Why did I help?'

'I would have survived.'

'Others will die too.'

Kai grabbed his head covering his ears tightly and closed his eyes, 'Shut up!' Sounds began to sound like Ray's voice more and more.

'Not my fault! Not my fault!' Kai yelled but words continued. He fell on his knees shaking his head. Kai stayed like that for a while before everything went quiet, very quiet. Behind closed eyelids his eyes turned from red colour to bright red. Behind the contacts his eyes looked dark red brown with glow in them. Kai's hands dropped to his sides and he sat there like a zombie… like in the forest when Ray died.

He reacted first time when he heard voices behind him but not in a good way. He didn't recognise the voices and didn't move. His two vampire teeth came out more and more the closer Blade Sharks walked.

'Well look who it is,' Stuart mocked, 'Is someone crying from losing a battle?'

'Didn't you hear? He has bitbeast like that brat Tyson who won the World championships,' Casey asked. He and Trevor had seen the battle and were worried ones even now.

'No wonder he beat us last time,' Carlos stated. Stuart grunted and walked in front of Kai who was looking down. They couldn't see his eyes under the hair.

'It looks like we simply need to just take that bit beast of yours away to even the playing field,' Stuart went to grab Kai's blade from his pocket but didn't get far. Kai's arm grabbed his wrist in tight grip.

'If you don't want to get hurt, you let go,' Stuart ordered but grip tightened.

'Are you fucking deaf? You…' Stuart growled but his expression changed quickly. He watched Kai's red eyes with murderous glare.

'Dude? What is it?' Trevor asked. Before Stuart could answer, Kai pushed his sharp nails right through Stuart's chest, near the neck area. Kai's hand had gone right through.

'Stuart!' others yelled in shock as they watched Stuart fall down dead. Kai stood up and turned to Carlos and others.

'You fucker!' Trevor growled and tried to punch Kai like he hadn't seen what had happened. In a second Kai had pushed his left arm again through other's chest. At the same time Carlos and Casey started running away but Kai caught Casey first and grabbed him by the neck breaking it immediately. Carlos continued running but Kai literally teleported in front of him.

'What kind of monster are you?!' Carlos yelled in fear. Kai's bloody arm didn't help the matter. Carlos only saw a glimpse of Sara when everything went dark permanently. Kai had done the same thing from before, head right off.

'Kai!' Sara yelled and Kai turned to her next, still in attack mode.

'Damn. Rick would be great help now,' Sara stated to herself as Kai attacked her next. But unlike normal humans, she managed to dodge, barely. It was clear he had similar abilities to Christian and maybe as strong as well. Sara had to time this right since Kai need to be knocked out. Luckily Christian had trained her for years and after few dodges she managed to kick Kai behind his neck hard enough to knock him out.

'Shit!' Sara cursed after looking around, 'What the hell am I going to do?' Next thing was surprising too. Out of nowhere a ghoul appeared dashing forward Sara from behind the tree.

Luckily she was quicker and kicked ghoul's head off. She watched ghoul disappear into air. Just then she noticed people coming to the park too.

'Ghouls? Here? And humans? Fuck,' Sara grabbed Kai's stuff and pulled Kai's arm over her should pulling him up. They had to hide immediately and contact Rick about the ghoul.

'I wonder if Sir saw this outcome,' Sara wondered and laughed at the end. She really did call Christian "Sir" a lot.

-In China At The Same Time-

'Government has issued a warning for all residents in the country to stay inside! Streets are filled with monsters and killing everyone in their sight. It has been reported that some have turned into these creatures too!'

In the mansion everyone were watching the news with serious faces, even Christian.

'It looks like it has begun. They finally came out,' Mike said with serious expression. Ghoul plague had begun again.

'Any chance of finding where they came from?' Lara asked.

'Underground most likely. There must be a cave of some kind near the town,' Rick answered while his phone began to ring.

'Who is calling you now?' Mike asked.

'Sara,' Rick answered the call right away and immediately heard panting voice.

'Rick! Short story, Kai went out of control again, killed few teenagers and ghoul appeared here!' she yelled panting.

'What?!' Rick's response shocked others and Rick put the phone into speaker. After Sara repeated her sentence Tina was first to speak.

'Sir! Did you have vision of this?' she asked.

'I have had many visions but never saw the places. Looks like China is not only one where ghouls are,' Christian growled.

'Ghouls appeared?' Sara quickly asked.

'A whole army and humans are panicking,' Rick answered.

'Did you already forget Kai there? He went out of control again. Did you know that too?' Mike asked.

Christian glared at him for a second but he did answer, 'It was one future of many. Don't forget that.'

'Right…' Sara said. She sounded unsure for some reason. She knew that and also knew why Christian didn't tell them about them but it didn't make the situation any easier.

'What now?' Tina asked.

'Damn it,' Christian sighed, 'Rick. You leave to the Japan just in case. If there is one ghoul, there is more. But if you can't find their lair or more ghouls, come back here.'

'Alright. I'll go right away,' Rick nodded and took his phone.

'Be careful Sir and everyone,' Sara said before Rick closed the call and headed out.

'Looks like we need to show ourselves at some point, again,' Tina sounded disappointed.

'For Sir it's more troublesome because he needs to wipe everyone's memories again,' Lara added.

'Forget it. Go. You know what to do,' Christian ordered, 'Use "human" tactics to fight them if humans' are in sight and can see you.'

'Yes Sir!' Everyone said loudly and headed out. It was night-time already and Japan had night too with the time difference of course.

-In Japan At The Same Time-

'That's crazy!' Tyson protested after seeing the news. Bruce and Ryu were shocked as well. Right after news had come out, Max and Kenny had run to the dojo along with Billy and Andrew since they lived close enough. Their parents protested but they had gone already.

'Monsters exist! What happens now?' Max asked.

'Calm down. At the moment we are safe here,' Bruce said. Japan was an island but they didn't know about the creatures yet. Could they swim or not?

'I wonder if that friend of yours has heard the news,' Billy commented.

'Friend? Kai? Why?' Tyson asked.

'Didn't you say that his and Sara's big brother is in China right now?' Billy asked and everyone's eyes widened in realization.

'Maybe he can take care of himself because he…' Tyson began annoyed but Kenny and Max covered his mouth.

'Their brother can take care of himself. He has good fighting skills and China's government is on the move already,' Bruce reassured.

'They might want to go back there though,' Andrew said. Others agreed on that when news report came on again.

'As we know in China strange monsters have appeared. But at the same time in Japan, we have a murder investigation beginning. Right at this moment few joggers have found four teenagers who have been murdered at the nearby park. Two of the boys were killed by something going through their chests, one boy had his neck broken and fourth had his entire head come off. For obvious reasons we won't show them but police have concluded this to be brutal murder and their goal is to catch the person who was behind this.

Victims were known bladers around the neighbourhood. Carlos, Stuart, Casey and Trevor of Blade Sharks.'

Tyson and others stared at the screen shocked.

'Seriously? Are we in a movie or something? Head right off?' Billy asked.

'Billy and Andrew. Go home for now and quickly. You live close enough to do that,' Bruce instructed. Two boys nodded and left running.

'Dad? Do you think that…' Tyson began with quiet voice.

'Kai did it?' Kenny ended the sentence, 'Why are you thinking that?'

'I mean… That head thing. The man who killed Ray had his head come off the same way,' Tyson explained his messy thoughts.

'If that's true, we can't keep quiet anymore,' Max said when there was a knock on the door.

'Who is it?' Ryu asked but there was no answer. Knocking went louder, louder and louder. It wasn't knocking anymore. The next second the door was broken and the same creatures came inside.

'THEY ARE HERE TOO?!' Kenny yelled. Bruce grabbed the boys and pushed them behind him and Ruy.

'Argh!' creatures looked like zombies with grey skin but they moved faster. Bruce grabbed a broken wood piece from the door and Ruy wooden stick to defend themselves. Just when creature took a one step forward it disappeared like dust.

'Huh? What happened?' Tyson asked and even creatures look confused.

'Him!' Kenny pointed to the door. Everyone gazed behind the monsters and saw a very familiar figure, Rick.

'You disgust me,' Rick grunted and grabbed wood from the doorframe. Creatures turned around and quickly attacked Rick who moved forward too. Tyson and others watched in amazement how Rick took every creature out in one hit after another, one, two, three, four, five, six and seven. And all seven creatures turned to dust like and disappeared.

'Disgusting,' Rick dropped the stick and looked around, 'Kai and Sara are not here, are they?'

'No,' Max replied. With that Rick turned around but Tyson grabbed his arm.

'Wait a minute. You can't just come here to save us and then just leave like that? How did you come here anyway?' Tyson asked.

Rick pushed Tyson's arm away turning around, 'You're welcome. As for the other two things, Sir told me to come here and I just came here.'

'Why are you looking for Kai and Sara? Because of what is happening in China?' Bruce asked with normal tone.

'Pretty much and because of those things,' Rick referred to the creatures and headed to the door again.

'You knew they were here?!' Tyson shouted angrily.

'Sara called me genius. She countered one too at the park,' Rick answered.

'Park? Where those kids were killed?' Ruy pointed out.

'Shit,' Rick cursed. One more thing to regret by not thinking before speaking.

'Shit? So, it was Kai who killed Carlos and others,' Tyson pointed out.

'Happy now? It's not like it should be surprised to you,' Rick took his phone out and tried to call Sara again but she didn't answer yet.

'You…!' Tyson began but Bruce pulled him back.

'Hold on. Did you know that we know?' Bruce asked Rick right after.

'We do know that you have heard almost everything basically. It's going to be really trouble some to keep quiet in the future at this rate. It's not like you to give up,' Rick said.

Before coming at the dojo Christian had send him a text about everything. They could openly talk about being vampires if needed since Kai needed blood to regain control. And knowing Bladebreakers, keeping them away now was going to be trouble. Christian could simply later wipe their memories anyway because of the ghoul threat too.

'You can say that again. I'm going to make sure Kai won't stay with you ever again,' Tyson stated firmly.

'You're going to end up like your friend Ray in that case,' Rick said as his phone rang. Sara was calling back.

'Ray? You do know! Fucking hell tell me what happened there!' Tyson grabbed Rick's jacket but got kicked into the stomach by Rick.

'Tyson!' Bruce dropped next to his son and helped him sat up. At the same time Rick answered to Sara and told her and Kai to come to the dojo where Tyson lived.

'Fucking speak up! What do you mean by that?!' Tyson stood up but didn't grab Rick again. Rick watched them with narrowed eyes before sighing.

'Just wait for a fucking moment then. It's not like we can go anywhere for now,' Rick said and walked to the door. He grabbed a shelf and pushed it in front of the door to block the way.

'Are you going to finally speak up?' Bruce asked.

'Soon because it's not like you can believe me before seeing something first,' Rick answered. He looked more serious and totally different from before in China or airport.

'Try me,' Tyson baited. It would take Sara bring Kai here about ten minutes at least since he's not awake and she doesn't have fast speed or teleportation abilities.

'It's just as you were told before. Ray followed Kai and got himself killed,' Rick said.

'But why did he follow? Did he know Kai has killed people before? Find out about it but hid it? Enlighten us!' Tyson asked.

'Ray did not know about that. In matter of fact, Kai only killed his first human by accident during the China's beyblading tournament last year,' Rick dropped the first bomb. It was not turning back now but Christian was allowing this. It was up to Rick to decided what to say.

'China's tournament? The one where we won? Where Ray died?' Kenny asked. They watched Rick in shock that they didn't even think about recording this. they simply forgot that.

'Kai was taking a part in the tournament? Why didn't we see him there then?' Tyson asked next.

'Better question! It was his first kill? What about Christian then?' Max jumped forward.

'Seriously?' Rick sighed and rubbed his eyes, 'Fine. Kai was going to take a part of that tournament like any other human but thanks to Marko it went out of the window. He almost killed Kai and we and mostly Christian stepped in. Kai had to be taken to the mansion and there he learned what we were doing or who we were.

For obvious reasons, Kai was told to be quiet about everything but he couldn't do it. Your friend Ray noticed his strange behaviour and followed him. He heard about our talks out of context and assumed we were threating Kai because we told Kai to drop out from the tournament. He wanted to help and got even cops involved.

Ray followed Kai back to the mansion that day and got caught by us. He was told to leave and not return but then that fucker Ryder appeared and began shooting Kai. Ray simply stepped forward and took the bullet,' Rick ended his story.

Tyson and others stared at him with wide eyes and they didn't know what to say.

'So, Ray found about it later and he didn't know Kai had killed someone?' Bruce finally spoke.

'No, he didn't know Kai had killed someone. He just assumed things and got himself killed. The best way to stay alive for you would be stay out of business but you're just like Ray in this matter,' Rick crossed his arms.

'Because you would kill us, right?' Tyson growled.

'Not us. We don't kill humans who don't deserve to be killed, most of the time,' Rick shrugged his shoulders at the end, 'But humans who come after us are not so generous. Ryder is good example in this.'

'What about Christian? When he killed the first time? Did he lie about his father's killer?' Bruce asked.

'I don't know when he killed the first time. I have only known Christian few centuries but he didn't lie about his parents. Their mother did kill their father and then herself,' Rick was getting annoyed and showed the same time he's not perfect either by letting certain words slip.

'Hold on… Few centuries? Humans?' Ruy was first to notice it too. Others glanced at Rick with very wide eyes.

'Are you saying that… you are over 100 years old or something?!' Tyson asked and pointed at Rick with shaking hand.

Rick cursed in his head but didn't bother hiding it, 'Over 300 hundred if I remember correctly and before you ask, Christian is over 500.'

'WHAT?!' everyone yelled.

'That would mean Susumu was also…' Bruce couldn't comprehend what he was hearing.

'Their parents were most likely maybe even thousand years old. Who knows. It's damn complicated when it comes to humans' life span,' Rick stated.

'Wait, Wait! Are you saying you guys, Sara or Kai are NOT humans? What are you then?' Tyson asked quickly.

'Pretty much,' Rick nodded calmly.

'And?' Tyson continued.

'We are vampires, alright,' Rick grunted.

'VAMPIRES?!' everyone yelled so loudly Rick had to cover his ears. Hopefully, Christian was sure about this. Did he allow this to be revealed now since ghouls have appeared? it was going to be seen later now.
