Chapter 23: Chaos Everywhere

-With Tyson And Rick-

Tyson returned to Rick who was being taken care of by an elderly woman. Tyson sat down next to him with worried expression.

'Come one you jerk. There is no time to sleep,' Tyson said.

'Bleeding has been stopped but he's still weak. Your friend needs to sleep,' elderly woman answered.

'Sorry but he's not actually my friend,' Tyson pointed out. He was getting annoyed that they referred Rick as his friend.

'I can see that because of the way what you call him,' elderly woman smiled calmly, 'It's clear though that Sara is worried about him and is that why you saved him?'

'I don't know. Even though I hate Rick's gut, it wouldn't have been right to just leave him there,' Tyson replied annoyed.

'You did the right thing,' woman said when phone rang. Tyson recognized the song and took Rick's phone out of his pocket. It was Sara calling.

'It seems that Sara has something else to say,' Tyson said and answered the call.

'Yeah?' he said.

'Hey. Answer me this. It wasn't really a pipe that hit Rick, was it?' Sara asked straight away.

'No,' Tyson answered.

'Was it another vampire?' she asked next. These questions were clear yes or no questions.

'Yes,' and Tyson did exactly that.

'Okay. Did you see the person face?'

'No.'

'Do you know the gender?'

'Yes.'

'Was it a boy?'

'Yes.'

'Did he use abilities?'

'Yes,' Tyson glanced at the woman who looked confused.

'Did he say what he wanted?'

'I think so. Just like you saw,' Tyson gave longer answer and hoped Sara would understand what he tried to say.

'Did he want to kill Rick and you?'

'Yes.'

'Did he say anything else?'

'Yes. Something around the lines of working under someone.'

'One behind the ghouls?'

'Yes.'

'Alright. I'll call Sir. Keep Rick's phone safe and make sure to inform us when he's awake. You can't stay there.'

'I will. Rick's going to be fine,'' Tyson nodded and ended the call.

'Was she still worried?' woman asked.

'Yes, she was,' Tyson said and put Rick's phone into his own pocket. He glanced at Rick who seemed to sleep in peace now. How would Sara know that Rick would wake up? Tyson noticed that Rick looked… handsome too, and Sara was beautiful too.

'Are they family or something?' elderly woman interrupted Tyson's thoughts.

'Kind of. Kai and Sara are siblings by blood and they have older brother in China at the moment. Rick is more like a friend but all of them have lived together years,' Tyson explained as calmly as he could.

'In China? Do they know his condition?' woman was worried.

'Sara said she would call him now about Rick,' Tyson answered. It wasn't a lie and safe to tell.

'Informing him too. I can understand. They treat each other with care and like family. I'm wondering… Why do you hate him then?' woman was sharp for her age.

'Well… umm… We didn't meet in good note and he simply ticks me off,' Tyson said.

'I see. Maybe you should sort it out while you can. It's not good for either of you,' woman touched Tyson's shoulder.

'That's going to be too difficult. I like Kai fine and Sara too a bit but others… no. It's too hard to explain and I would not rather to,' Tyson replied.

'Not their older brother either?' woman wondered but saw Tyson didn't want to talk about it, 'It's fine. I'll respect your decision here. It was just my suggestion.'

'Thank you,' Tyson nodded and looked back at Rick. He was glad the elderly woman dropped the questions. Otherwise, Tyson would have slipped the real reason why he hated Rick and Christian. They would call Tyson either nuts or apprehend Rick or even kill him themselves by throwing him out of the shelter if he would say, they are murder freaks who manipulate Kai to the point of losing his dream and so on.

How did they end here? One moment they are talking about murders, killers, manipulators and then vampires and now they are on the run from ghouls. Tyson glanced around and saw desperate looks and officers were running around trying to manage the situation.

'Kind of like a movie…' Tyson mumbled and sat next to a wall. He took Rick's phone out and opened it but it was locked. It looked like he could only answer calls. With that in mind Tyson leaned back and put his hands behind his head while trying to think the next move.

-With Kai And Kenny-

Kenny and Kai had returned to their own place after the video call. As they sat down Kenny opened Dizzy who again complained about not knocking.

'Dizzy, is there anything we can do about the situation?' Kenny asked.

'I don't know chief. We do know how to defeat the monsters but it would take ages by ourselves. Government might have a chance against them,' Dizzy answered and she sounded gloomy.

'How big of a chance?' Kenny asked and Dizzy gave very average number, around 50 percent. Kenny sighed and turned to Kai. He was clenching his left hand over his knee while other was covering the yes. Kenny kneeled closer and went to touch Kai's arm before backing away in that regard.

'Something wrong?... Blood?' Kenny whispered at the end and his fear came true as Kai nodded. Sara had the bag from last time and they were in office building too.

'Shit…' Kenny cursed which was unusual for him. Kenny looked around before noticing his own wrist. He stepped closer to Kai and went on his knees to hide what he was about to do.

'Here,' Kenny offered his wrist and Kai pushed it away.

'No way in hell moron. What are you thinking?' Kai raised his head and Kenny could see pain in Kai's eyes.

'Well… According to Rick and Sara you go nuts if you don't get blood. Unlike them, you're not control yet… And we don't have other way to give you what you need. So, what am I thinking?' Kenny pushed his hand forward again, 'We have an option to leave it be and get people hurt around here…. or I give you little bit of blood.'

'But… I haven't drank blood from human… the way they don't die…' Kai was really unsure.

'I'm going to just hit on the head to stop you then,' Kenny asked Dizzy how much is safe to give. Apparently enough to keep Kai going but Kenny would feel tired.

'Just do it,' Kenny whispered but he couldn't hide his fear. Kai gulped and when he thought about blood, he could feel his fans appear already. Kai grabbed Kenny's hand and quickly bit down. Kenny gritted his teeth and glanced behind them and luckily no one was watching them. Kenny could feel pain increase in his hand as Kai kept drinking. As for Kai himself he could feel himself feel better after a while and Kai managed to control himself. He pulled away and covered the fang marks.

'Is that enough?' Kenny whispered.

'No… not for long but I can't keep doing that,' Kai stated quickly. He even sounded much better.

'We must get your bottles or something else then before that,' Kenny said worried but Kai only turned away and looked at the blocked windows. Kenny kept covering his own wrist to stop the bleeding. Kenny used his laptop to cover his hand naturally as he looked around to see chaos around them. People were scared, frustrated, tired and hungry which wasn't good combination, considering everyone's situation. Kenny gripped laptop tightly in fear too. Just a moment ago they were having better time… without including the talk about the situation with Kai and others.

-With Max And Others-

A while ago Sara had managed to get hold on to Tyson and confirmed the fact the real reason for Rick's state. Everyone were sitting down quiet as Dickenson was talking with officers and trying to manage the chaos. Apparently, people in all shelters were in the same state… scared and angry about different reasons.

Max was getting also very agitated and was sitting with Bruce and Ruy. Sara was also sitting next to them while leaning against her chin. She looked calm but it was clear she was on edge as she was trying to call her brother in China again. Sara had tried Mike too but the call didn't go through to them.

'Could it be possible that connection are cut or something? To different county I mean since call went through earlier?' Max asked curiously.

'I don't know but I hope so,' Sara's voice screamed worry.

'So… what now?' Max asked.

'We wait for news mostly and see what government wants to do,' Bruce rubbed Max's back calmly.

'No wonder people are getting angry. I'm impatient too,' Sara stood up walked few steps forward.

'Are you worried worry Christian?' Max asked.

'Of course,' Sara snapped, 'And Rick too. If he doesn't heal soon and wake up… I don't know what might happen.'

'You're friend is going to be fine there. He's not alone there,' officer from before came to check up on them, 'And who's Christian?'

'My big brother in China. I can't get hold of him or any of his friends,' Sara explained.

'I understand your worry but at the moment I don't have answers to you. We are trying to sort out the issue with food supplies and other equipment,' officer apologized.

'Is there any plan on that part?' Bruce asked.

'Well, at the moment, there are food in food stores and so on but we need people to go there…' officer began.

'But no one wants to step outside?' Sara continued.

'Yes… People are scared but we can't just do nothing. I'm only informing everyone about this before talking to everyone together. After giving them time to think about. In other shelters they are doing the same,' officer added before continuing his way.

'I think they expect adults do that… I'm going,' Bruce said.

'Why?' Ruy asked worried.

'Because I need to do something and I believe not many people will do that,' Bruce explained. After a half an hour video links were opened again and officer stepped forward on top of a table.

'As we all know, we are in desperate situation and at the moment we can't expect government to help us! At the moment we need to get food and other supplies to survive for a while! I understand that no one might not want to go out there and risk their lives to get food but we don't have much option! Either few people go out with weapons to get food or we stay here and continue feeling hunger! It's up to all of you what you want to do! Those who want to go, come to me or Stanley Dickenson!' officer stepped down. Everything was quiet but soon they could hear worried whispers around them. In other places, situation wasn't any better either.

Bruce stood up, gave his father Ruy and Max calm grip before walking towards Dickenson. Dickenson did smile when he Bruce and officer already gave him a knife and a gun with extra bullets. They did need more people but could only wait and it might take a while.

-With Tyson And Rick-

'Looks like my father is going…' Tyson spoke and elderly woman heard him.

'Doesn't he think it would be too dangerous?' she asked.

'Yes but he cares for others,' Tyson defended his father.

'Good for him…' voice growled.

'Rick!' Tyson yelped and watched Rick sit up.

'Slow down little one. Just lay down,' elder woman was kneeling next to Rick.

'Little one? He's older than you,' Tyson pondered but did kneel down too.

'I didn't think you would wake up this soon bit here's your phone,' Tyson said as Rick took his phone back. Next Rick looked around and saw worried expressions. Rick could only sigh.

'What an idiots,' he growled.

'They are just scared and don't want to get killed either jerk,' Tyson frowned.

'But they will die if they don't get to food. I hear starving is painful way to go,' Rick spoke loudly enough nearby people to hear. With that Rick stood up quickly despite elder woman trying to stop him.

'Where are you going? You're too hurt,' woman said.

'I'm well aware,' Rick grunted before walking closer the window and peeked through the crack. There was still few monsters but he could manage through them.

'Are you thinking of ditching this place?' Tyson asked. Few people were listening to them and officer Chane was there too.

'As I recall… once you're among people, I'm out. I don't have time to babysit you,' Rick stated with angry tone.

'And here I dragged your ass to safety and this is thanks I get? I know what you told me but it's not like we can do shit,' Tyson said.

'Do you really think I don't know that?' Rick sighed and walked back to Tyson before grabbing his shoulder, 'I'm just going to back to the BBA building where Sara is. I move quickly enough to avoid ghouls.'

'It didn't seem to work last time,' Chane walked closer and pointed at the Rick's wound, 'I suggest staying put. We are in the process of getting people to get food.'

'These people would rather starve than risk their lives for humans they don't know,' Rick laughed mockingly. Tyson noticed some people nod quietly while agreeing with Rick. Even Tyson understood that it was like that and only few brave ones might do that instead… like his father.

'It will take some convincing but at least wait until you're heal better. Wound is bleeding again,' Chane said. Rick raised his hand to touch it and noticed wound bleeding again.

'Just sit down you moron,' Tyson pulled his own hair a bit annoyed and pulled and pushed Rick on the chair.

'When did you began caring?' Rick asked while leaning back like he owned the place, like in the hotel in China last time.

'I hate your guts but unlike you, I'm not heartless bastard,' Tyson crossed his arms.

'Calm down you two and let adults take care of this,' elderly woman spoke.

'Whatever,' Tyson turned his back towards Rick and walked closer to the screen to see his father better.

'I can't wait this to be over. Stupid orders,' Rick thought. Why did Christian told him to keep this brat safe? He really had gone soft which was annoying him too at this point.

'Why bother with these morons?' Rick mumbled and stood up again.

'You really don't seem to get along. Your friend told me that but he didn't say why,' elderly woman stated as Rick went to lay down.

'We are not friends lady,' Rick stated eyes closed, 'I'm just following my boss's orders.'

'Someone told you take care of him?' woman sat down near him, 'That's noble too.' Rick sat up again and his eyes narrowed. He was getting too angry from hunger and pain too. Glancing towards the group no one watching them anymore and more debating who goes out.

Rick didn't hear what woman was saying but he raised his hand slightly up. Soon enough time stopped around him but people near the camera were moving to keep up the illusion that nothing was going to happen. The area where Tyson was moving mostly and he was talking to Chane too. Rick stood up and stepped in front of the elder woman.

Rick leaned closer, grabbed woman's arm and raised her sleeve up before biting down. He would heal faster after getting blood into his system. In two minutes his wound had healed and Rick stopped drinking. He covered the bite mark by pulling woman's sleeve back down.

'I think… you have lived enough,' Rick said next to woman's ear and placed his hand behind woman's neck. With quick hard squeeze, he broke woman's neck. Rick laid the woman down to look like she was sleeping. Many would think it was brutal to do but he was not going to risk her going around if she would see the bite marks. They always killed the people if they drank them correctly without Christian around since he was the only one capable of erasing the memories.

Rick kept the power up until he was away from her. People continued talking like nothing happened. While walking toward Tyson he glanced around and didn't see security cameras. Tyson was talking with Kenny and Max as he walked closer. Even Kai could be seen in the screen.

'Rick!' Sara called from the screen as Rick stepped into the screen.

'Would you tell this moron to sit down? He's hurt,' Tyson stated.

'Don't worry about him Tyson. Rick can take care of himself,' Sara ensured with a smile, 'It looks like we have enough people to go out but they don't allow kids to go.'

'No surprise there,' Tyson nodded. They talked little more to calm their nerves but Sara did inform Rick about not being able contact Christian yet. When it was decided it was time to go out, screens were shut down again. Chane let the group go out with another officer form the back door.

Tyson walked to front door and noticed woman sleeping as few kids were playing around her.

'She must be heavy sleeper to ignore that,' Tyson chuckled.

'Pretty much,' Rick grunted. Tyson turned to him and noticed his narrowed eyes. Then he glanced down and noticed that Rick's wound didn't bleed anymore… and it wasn't even there anymore.

'Where did your wound go?' Tyson whispered but Rick answered by closing his eyes. Just then one of the kids fell backwards and hit the woman.

'Very classic,' Rick sighed as the woman dropped down. Tyson watched him frowning as Chane ran to the woman with some other people.

'What's wrong with her?' Tyson ran to them too as Chane checked the woman.

'She's… dead…' Chane said and people around them even gasped.

'How? Did she… sleep away?' man asked. Chane carefully checked woman's eyes and even felt around her head.

'I don't… Wait a second,' Chane's eyes widened as he touched woman's neck, 'Her neck is broken.'

'Like how?' another person asked shocked. Chane looked carefully back at her neck and saw bruises.

'It looks like someone managed to break her neck. There are clear marks behind her neck,' Chane explained before slowly let go of the woman.

'Who has the strength to do that without anyone noticing?' man asked. Chane could only shake his head since he didn't have an answer. Not only that there were monsters outside, but someone also had guts to kill someone right under their noses.

Tyson turned to Rick with hands clenched, 'It was you, wasn't it?' Tyson barely manged to whisper.

'Well done detective,' Rick smirked but he dropped it soon after, 'And before you even start, I just did what I was told to do.'

'Christian's rule I assume?' Tyson growled.

'"If Sir is not around when you need blood, kill them." So, exactly,' Rick answered like it was nothing.

'You bit her?' Tyson grabbed subconsciously Rick's arm. Tyson tried to keep his voice low but he didn't hide his anger.

'To heal myself quicker. If you want to live, keep your mouth shut,' Rick threatened.

'Threatening now? Like you did with Kai?' Tyson asked as Rick pulled his arm away.

'If you like,' Rick snorted.

'Fucking asshole,' Tyson cursed and turned back to the woman. They seriously needed to get Kai away from these monsters. They didn't notice a small kid behind them listening to their talk and unfortunately for them… kid heard them. Chane broke the people apart and told them to return to whatever they were doing. Tyson sat far away from Rick but he decided to keep Rick in his view.

'Is he your friend?' small kid walked in front of him.

'Not really. Only through mutual friend. Why?' Tyson asked as kid glanced around.

'I kind of heard what you two were talking about… Did he really kill that nice woman?' kid asked.

'Oh?' Tyson scratched his cheek with puzzled look, 'I don't think he did… He's a jerk but not that kind of jerk.' Tyson laughed nervously. Kid got more happy expression.

'That's good then. Sorry to bother you,' kid bowed before running back to parents. Tyson sighed after pulling that off. He wondered what Kai felt every time he had to lie to Ray after becoming a bloodsucker.

Tyson leaned against his hands and decided to think for a second in exchange. He recalled what Rick and Sara had told them and what else he had heard. Apparently, someone made ghouls which were now attacking here and China at least. There hadn't been talk about another countries but Tyson could suspect it wouldn't be too long for that to happen but… Rick hadn't told them that? He stood up and headed towards Rick once again just to confirm something.

'What now?' Rick asked tiredly.

'I just want to know something. Are those ghouls created by another vampire or something?' Tyson asked.

Rick sighed before leaning back, 'Yes and we even met one of those lackies in the alley.'

'I knew it,' Tyson pondered, 'So… the easiest way to solves is to… beat that person up?'

'More like killed,' Rick replied.

'Yeah, yeah. Where are they then?' Tyson asked and Rick had worried look in his eyes.

'Sir and we assumed that vampire behind this is in China…' Rick began.

'But?' Tyson questioned.

'I think some of them are here in Japan instead. And we don't know if Sir knows it too,' Rick shrugged closing his eyes. Were the connection cut between countries or in general? Rick had sent a test message to both Christian and Sara but neither had answered yet.

-In China-

The situation in China was far worse than in Japan, especially around the mountains and farm areas. Ghouls were everywhere and people were still trying to find safe place to be. Mike, Tina, Lara and even Christian had to leave the mansion after big group of ghouls dashed in and destroyed it. Even though they beat every single one of them, mansion was left in bad state. It was midnight and the vampire group was running through the forest.

They had fought past big group of ghouls and few of them were tired after fighting over an hour. Christian stopped next to a tree and noticed a village, white tiger village.

'What… Oh, white tiger village,' Mike noted, 'And they are in trouble down there.' Christian narrowed his eyes and recognized Lee and Mariah helping people ran away. Even the small kid Kevin was with them with Gary. They even used bit beasts to defend themselves.

'Why not go down?' Mike asked.

'You're not serious?' Lara asked disappointed but it was clear she was ready to follow Christian's lead. They did know they weren't capable of fighting Christian any way. While they were complaining, Christian was in his own thoughts and scanned around the village with his hand which didn't go unnoticed by others. In no time Christian found the graveyard and headed forward with others following him.

-With White Tigers-

'Come on! Run to safety!' Lee yelled and launched his blade again to stop monsters from coming forward.

'Hurry!' Mariah added as she guided villagers away. People were heading towards the big buildings and mostly where White Tigers lived with the village elder since it was well build. One after another men, women and kids ran past them. Soon enough small kid fell down and Kevin ran up to him quickly.

'Let's go! No time to cry!' Kevin stated as kid cried from the wall.

'Look out!' Gary yelled and Kevin turned around. Ghoul was just about to launch itself at the two boys when it disappeared like dust.

'Huh?' Kevin blinked and saw a teenage girl with long hair.

'What are you kid staring at? Move it!' she shouted and gave Kevin a scare. He pulled the kid up and pushed him forward.

'Thanks for the safe though,' Mariah said as she saw three others walk closer too.

'If you want to survive for now, I suggest moving along,' boy with short hair added.

'There are still many people who need help! We can't abandon them!' Lee protested angrily when he noticed the tall boy with dark clothes and long hair. His expression reminded him of… Kai and even Sara a bit.

'Wait a minute… You're Christian, right?' Lee suddenly asked. Mariah and others eyes widened and they noticed it too.

'Looks like they know about you too and I can guess how,' boy laughed, 'To make this easier, I'm Mike and they are Tina and Lara.'

'Yeah. We know,' Lee walked closer to Christian, 'We learned that your little brother got our friend killed and all of you people are killers too.'

Christian gazed at Lee for a minute and saw clear anger from his eyes, 'He must be Ray's other friends.'

Closing his eyes Christian headed towards the graveyard right past fleeing people.

'Where are you fucking going?' Lee cursed. He didn't like Christian's attitude and after learning from Tyson and others what they had done, Lee wasn't going to allow them to do what they wanted.

'Sir?!' Mike asked too after Christian. Lee and others immediately noticed how they treated Christian like he was the boss. Or more likely, he was the boss since he liked to control others, even his own little brother.

'Just go to safety. I'll be right there,' Christian said and disappeared from their sight in blink of an eye.

'What the heck?! Is he a ninja or something?' Kevin asked frightened. Mike, Tina and Lara didn't acknowledge his question but it seemed like Christian didn't bother hiding their nature as strictly as before.

Lee gritted his teeth and decided to follow others inside since he had no idea where Christian disappeared to. In matter of minutes they arrived to the living room which was filled with people. The elder walked up to them as they closed the door.

'It seems we really can't safe everyone…' elder sighed sadly before glancing at the newcomers. Before anyone could say anything door opened again and Christian came in.

'Huh… How are you so fast?' Gary asked.

'And where did you go?' Lee questioned right after.

'The graveyard if you must know,' Christian stated.

'Don't tell me…' Tina began with annoyed expression as she realized what Christian had checked.

'It looks like even the dead were turned to ghouls,' Christian crossed his arms.

'The dead? Like zombies?' Kevin almost shouted but Lee covered his mouth.

'Shh! Something tells me people around here don't need to know that,' Lee said and let Kevin go, 'But how do you know about that? Turned into ghouls?'

'Coffins are empty. There are literal holes in the ground,' Christian answered and rubbed his forehead. His headache was getting worse by the day and there wasn't enough time to rest either. Kai, Sara and Rick were also in trouble in Japan but there was no mobile connection but Christian was able to check up on them but it was tiring. And it hadn't gone unnoticed by Mike, Tina or even Lara. To their surprise even the elder noticed it too.

'You look like you are in pain,' elder said calmly.

'Just a headache. Nothing more,' Christian replied.

'Elder? Why would you care about that after hearing what Tyson said last time?' Lee asked with respectful tone.

'No matter who we are, where we come from or what we have done… We all deserve respect and painless times. Would you Lee kindly go get the medicine?' elder answered.

'I… Yes. Alright,' Lee nodded and headed past people sitting on the ground. There wasn't any police officers or any other authorities of any kind, unlike in Japan or in bigger cities in China.

'Do sit down anywhere you want and rest. Everyone must have ran a lot today to escape monsters,' elder said.

'You're really nice old little dude,' Tina smirked.

'Be respectful! He's the elder of our village,' Mariah stated.

'All right calm down kids. Gary, please make sure doors and windows are barred shut. We need to try to notify the government of our situation too. It might be in vain but better safe than sorry,' elder said as Lee came bag.

'Here is water to gulp the pills down,' elder gave Christian a bottle before leaving. Lee was still holding onto the pills.

'Just make sure to keep your hands off of these people, you murderer,' Lee growled before throwing the pills to Christian who caught them between his fingers with cold stare. Kevin and Mariah left too and helped Gary with his task by aiding people and trying to secure the place more.

'Looks like your little brother talks too much and we are not wanted,' Mike sighed but it hinted a humour behind it. Christian looked around and saw few eyes staring at them with curious look but they didn't seem to know what was just said now.

Christian sat down next to a wall and rolled the pills in his hand as others sat down too. Human medicine wouldn't work on them and Christian simply crushed the pills into nothing with his powers. He could only lean back and try rest while he could. Others got the hint and kept their eyes on humans around them in the mean time.
