Chapter 28: Not Dead?!

-With Tyson-

It was out now. Tyson had listened nervously from behind the screen as Christian had revealed what they were and the people were not happy. Somehow father and Dickenson were able to hold them off, even in the government. But still, Tyson wasn't happy when he saw Christian. Now Kai was under direct influence of his brother and that wasn't good news in Tyson's opinion. Even though they were vampires, Ray knew about it and still wanted to help Kai, so does Tyson. Like it was revealed, Kai was recently turned and had his human morals and Tyson wanted to make sure it stayed like that. Maybe they could get Kai some blood more human-kind-if-way and not by killing humans like his brother does.

As Tyson was sitting near the screen Chane walked up to him and sat next to him. Neither of them didn't say anything but Chane broke the silence after literally fifteen minutes.

'Did I mention I checked the security cameras when we spoke?' Chane asked quietly. Tyson pondered for a moment before shaking his head, he wasn't sure.

'After hearing from the BBA building… what I saw in the recording makes more sense. Rick… he stopped the time for the elder woman, drank her blood to heal himself and killed her, didn't he?' Chane whispered.

'Well… yeah. It's one of their rules to kill them if Christian isn't present, since he's the only who can erase memories,' Tyson admitted. He felt shudders go through his spine when he thought about the conversation with Rick about it.

'Rules? Right, to hide themselves from humans most likely,' Chane stood up and checked how people were doing. Since they had seen Rick they were talking about it even to this moment and how happy they were that the vampire wasn't among them at the moment.

'Everyone could guess that,' the same woman from before with the kid had heard them, 'So, that vampire was the killer.' People around the got shocked, frustrated and angry expressions since woman's voice was loud.

'What should frustrate me is that you officer knew about it, who had done it but hid it, but it doesn't actually. After hearing what he is and I can guess that Mr. Dickenson asked you to be quiet, so it's understandable,' woman spoke calmly but didn't hide her annoyance either way.

'Thank you for your understanding mam,' Chane bowed a little and it kind of eased the woman a bit but it didn't lift the tense atmosphere from around them.

'Tyson. What do you think? You guys probably learned about them recently but still, what do you think of them? You clearly didn't like Rick but was it only because what he was?' Chane turned to Tyson again.

'No entirely at first. It came later but it cleared out the first reason. When we first saw him, he acted like he was king and didn't care about the fact he had taken a human life. But after finding out that he's a vampire, it kind of showed why he didn't care but his attitude isn't better. Christian is not better either and is actually worse,' Tyson replied.

'Worse?' Chane frowned.

'I don't know if you noticed but even now just a moment ago, he disrespected the officer and when we met… It makes me mad just thinking about it. We heard them talking a lot and I'm not going to go to it since it's not the problem now but he's worse. Manipulative bastard,' Tyson cursed.

'Sounds like Christian wants to be in control of his surroundings, including his siblings,' Chane calculated.

Tyson glanced at Chane and sighed, 'Mr. Dickenson thought the same and what Rick told us and what we heard on our own… Christian forced Kai to kill, leave his human friends and continues to order him what he can and cannot do.'

'Right, now I see. The last part sounds like "normal" big brother behaviour since they don't seem to have parents what Dickenson mentioned but forcing to kill goes too far and I see your point. That's why you were trying to make him turn on his brother,' Chane glanced at the screen, 'But it seems difficult since Kai doesn't seem like he will do that at the moment.'

'And having Christian right next to him doesn't help either,' Tyson growled.

Chane rubbed Tyson's shoulder encouragingly, 'You can think about it later. Something tells me things are not going to any easier.' Tyson nodded agreeing. Chane couldn't be more right about the situation now or even later.

-In The BBA Building-

It had been about two hours when Christian stood and cracked his knuckles and other parts of his body.

'Looks like you had a good rest. What now?' Mike asked. Christian didn't demand the Sir part at the moment since the situation was complicated already, but otherwise the authority was clear.

'We need to find the vampire responsible for this mess,' Christian stated as Bruce came to them close enough to hear him.

'Vampire caused this?' Bruce asked, 'By defeating him ghouls disappear?'

'Pretty much. Makes it easier anyway for human army to act as well,' Christian nodded before turning to the door.

'Do you know where that vampire is?' Rai asked and came along with Akemi, Dickenson and officer as well.

Christian sighed annoyed, 'No, but you don't have to worry about it. Just keep quiet like little mouses. That way ghouls shouldn't find you.'

'Shouldn't? Be clear about it,' Rai stated quickly. Christian raised his palm up and it began to glow. Rai and others looked at him and soon they saw faint pictures of ghouls coming towards the building.

'Not only vampire created the, but they can be and are controlled,' Christian stopped using his powers and dropped his hand to his side. Rai couldn't get used to the fact the person in front of him was hundreds of years old and using supernatural abilities.

'So that vampire can make them attack this place even if we are quiet? That is troublesome. If that's the case, shouldn't some of you stay here to guard or something,' Ruy asked from the side.

'Babysitting in other words. Great,' Mike stated to himself and got few glances.

'It might not be any use. This is not the only place where people are sheltering,' Christian reminded.

Ruy hit the floor with his wooden stick, 'That doesn't mean it shouldn't be done. We have video connection there and if they need help they can ask. You can communicate with each other if someone is here already.'

'Someone has some brain,' Mike smiled and bowed towards Christian slightly, 'The human has a good point. May I suggest something?'

Christian glanced at Mike and could guess his plan, 'You want me to stay here to concentrate finding the vampires whereabouts while you go out?' Christian narrowed his eyes as Mike bowed lower.

'That was my thought, yes. You can find everyone and everything with your powers and inform us when you find him. While few of us will leave to look for him physically. I understand that a vampire attacked Rick and Tyson before. That vampire might know something too,' Mike explained.

'You weren't hit by a pipe like Tyson told Chane, but a vampire?' officer was amazed how much they had been lied to. Nothing should surprise them anymore.

They ignored the officer as Christian glanced at others, 'Does everyone think the same?'

Sara raised her hand, 'I do actually. There is no need for you to go there yet and this way we can cover ground more.'

Christian rolled his eyes but could sense others thought so well, vampires at least, 'Fine. So be it. In that case Kai, Rick, Mike and Tina will leave.'

'Lara and Sara are staying and you're sending Kai out? Okay. No idea why but what can we say,' Mike stated and walked to the door.

'Someone has to stay here with Sir… Christian,' Sara shook her head. She was still practicing calling Christian by his name but it was getting easier by the day.

Rai only nodded along with officer, 'Fine. Anything you need from us?' Rai asked as four vampires left without a word.

'Keep humans away. Christian needs to concentrate since he will be using his ability to see the future and another ability to look through different places. It takes time and we don't distractions,' Sara explained firmly. Officer nodded and asked few people to rely the message forward and even shouted it at the end as Christian sat down on the ground legs crossed over each other and hands in front of him.

People watched as Christian closed his eyes slowly and soon saw his hands glow for a moment before it faded.

'Is he…' Akemi whispered since he wasn't sure how loud he could speak yet.

'He's doing it now. You just have to patient since Christian has been using his powers a lot lately and he did only get two hours of rest. He might seem fine but he's still exhausted,' Sara nodded and showed how loud the speaking voice could be, normal. Akemi watched Christian in amazement as the boy's hair moved few times event though there wasn't any wind inside. It looked like Christian was meditating. Akemi noticed Rai watching Christian and the two others closely along with Dickenson, Bruce and Ruy but for different reasons. Those who defended them were just waiting for something and letting Christian do his thing but Rai was on guard. Luckily, people around them kept away but kept their eyes on them.

-With Kai-

Kai and others had ran and jumped quickly out of sight to top of the building.

'Well Mike. This was your idea. Where to?' Tina questioned tiredly but it was her way of teasing.

'Hard way: We go different ways from roof to roof and try find something. Easy way: We go high and try to see where the most of the ghouls are coming from,' Mike suggested. Shortly, Mike wanted to cover the ground the old fashion way until Christian finds something.

'Good enough for me as long as I don't have to babysit. Done that already,' Rick shrugged and grabbed Kai by his shoulder, 'Think you can go on your own? It seems you have little more control over your abilities.'

'I don't need a babysitter,' Kai pushed Rick's hand off but at the same time, what he did do Blade Sharks was on his mind. Rick might be right at the moment but not entirely. Kai took a deep breath as Rick took his own phone out.

'Write my number down. Call or text if you find something,' Rick instructed. Without a word Kai saved Rick's number and gave Rick his before Tina, Mike and finally Rick dashed away into different directions.

'Hopefully Christian finds something soon… We have too much ground to cover,' Kai thought silently before stepping closer to the edge. Mike's suggestion to find where ghouls were coming from was a good idea, and Kai was narrowing his eyes to see father away and listened the surroundings. Ghouls were everywhere but no clear hint from where they were coming from. Kai jumped on to a tree, from that to on top of another building.

'That's… Ew,' Kai noticed few ghouls which looked even more monster than others, and he had disgusted expression at first. But then Kai recalled what Christian had mentioned a while ago, even dead people were turning into ghouls.

'Maybe…' Kai knew there was a graveyard nearby and decided to head towards it. He kept himself hidden behind the tree branches and checked the graveyard around. A lot of graves were empty and seeing that made Kai grit his teeth. This was happening in China as well and even if Christian hadn't said it… Kai could tell Ray might be also effected by this. He was going to check some other place next when he heard a buzzing sound. Turning back he saw black smoke and someone walk out of it with two others. It didn't take long for Kai to recognize them.

'That's… Erik! Gina and Matt too! How are they alive?!' Kai pulled back more to hide his presence but kept his eyes on them. They were clearly vampires but how, Kai didn't know.

'Christian had trouble seeing them… Are they able to hide themselves from his ability to see the future or something?' Kai thought again. He going through his brain when Erik raised his hand and created a black smoke again. This time ghouls were coming out and some looked more rotten. Just when Kai thought of the reason from before, his eyes widened.

'Ray!' Kai saw Ray walk out limping while wearing his funeral clothes. Kai went entirely behind the tree and tried to keep his breathing quiet. Not only they were turning dead to ghouls, but they were also bringing them here.

He was so deep on thoughts that he didn't notice Matt appear right behind the tree he was leaning against at first but managed to dodge in time as Matt tried to kick him on the neck.

'Looks like we were eavesdropped. Nice to see us again,' Erik laughed as Kai and Matt landed down on their feet.

'Not really,' Kai kept his distance but he couldn't keep his eyes away from Ray for long.

Erik noticed it and pushed Ray forward, 'He was your friend, wasn't he? I brought him back. You should be happy.'

'Happy? Fucking happy?! What I want him to rest in peace. This is wrong,' Kai clenched his hands into fists.

'Who are you to say what is wrong! You killed us!' Erik shouted angrily.

'I know that! But… I didn't want to… I was forced,' Kai mumbled at the end as he recalled they day when he felt Christian use his control on him as his donor.

'For what it is worth I believe you since we know your boss is not only your brother, leader but also your donor,' Erik calmed down and stepped closer.

'I understand that and I can sense your anger towards him, but I don't understand, why are you on his side,' Erik began and caught Kai's attention.

'What that supposed to mean?' Kai growled. Gina stepped closer this time and had determined expression on her face.

'Are you an idiot? We are saying that with our help you could take your anger at him since that's where it belongs,' Gina answered.

'That's it? Because he ordered your death you want to kill him? Why involve innocent people in this then? Even the dead!' Kai pointed out. He understood their anger but they had to be nuts.

'That's a small thing. The bastard is too strong and we are not stupid. So, why not make him use his powers enough to weaken him?' Matt chuckled.

'So that's what they want to do,' Kai thought backing away, 'Whatever you think I might do, I won't help you. Unlike you I don't want to hurt innocent.'

Erik sighed but he didn't sound disappointed, 'So be it. You can die along with him then but let's have some fun first. How about… kill everyone in the two shelters?'

'What?!' Kai yelled as Erik, Matt and Gina disappeared from his sight.

'Choose one! Tyson or Kenny! Either way those places will have some action!' Erik's voice echoed around him.

'Shit!' Kai growled and dashed towards the store first where Tyson was since it was the closest one. Kai took his phone out and tried to call Rick but left it to the voice text since he had to concentrate on running past the ghouls without stopping and tripping.

-With Christian At The Same Time-

The past thirty minutes Christian was frowning from pain as he was experiencing visions from past moments. Sara was kneeling next to him and biting her nails nervously. She wasn't sure yet which kind of visions they were, searched once or forced. Bruce and Dickenson had come closer as well with worried looks. Sara had explained Christian's ability just a moment ago.

'Visions about the future can just appear?' Bruce questioned and Sara nodded. Lara was standing near her as well with worried look in her eyes too.

'They are the most painful once and I think he might be experiencing one now,' Sara added.

Lara decided to point out one fact straight away, 'Just don't get your hopes up to hear what the visions are about. Christian never tells us about them.'

'Why? In this situation they could be useful for out survival,' Rai stepped forward and many agreed.

'Don't humans have better to do than watch and listen to us?' Sara thought before speaking again, 'It's simply actually. He wants the time to move forward on it's own. If he sees something from the future, it's fifty-fifty chance it happens depending on decisions done by many people.'

'I think I understand. He doesn't want to change the future to the bad on purpose,' Bruce pondered out loud.

'Why should he worry about that now?' Rai asked as Christian opened his eyes and breathed like he had hold his breath for a long time.

'Christian?' Dickenson came forward and offered his hand to help Christian stand up. Christian glanced at the hand but stood up without taking it.

'Anything you can tell us?' Max asked carefully from next to Bruce.

'Nothing much but ghouls are more organized,' Christian stated and rubbed his forehead again.

'Is it possible that the vampire we need to find can stop you from finding him?' Lara asked curiously.

'Possibly…' Christian shook his head. Using two abilities at the same time and get a vision on top of that was taking its toll. Not only that but blood for a while ago wasn't enough.

'That sounds like trouble. So, he can't find the bastard this way,' Rai cursed. He was hoping for the best but was disappointed.

'Others are looking into that too. We just have to be patient. It's just going to take longer,' Max reminded the adults of Kai and others.

'Christian, did you see them when you were looking around or can you… Christian?' Bruce started when he saw the boy not paying attention to them.

'Christian?' Sara sounded worried and lightly touched Christian's arm as Bruce walked closer.

'I did. They…' Christian began when his legs turned into like spaghetti.

'Christian!' Sara yelped as Bruce caught Christian before he hit the ground, and even Lara was surprised.

'Hey. Can you hear me?' Bruce tapped Christian's cheek and felt how cold it was, 'What happened?' Bruce watched Sara touch Christian's neck, wrist and forehead.

'He has used too much power and haven't gotten enough rest or strength back,' Sara gritted her teeth. It was clear Christian would need blood to get his strength back faster but they didn't have any. The bottles were empty and they couldn't go the mansion either.

'He needs to rest now a lot more,' Lara said as Bruce laid Christian down after getting a jacket under his head. Bruce glanced at Sara and saw her angry expression as she was even tapping the bottle like she was trying to think of something.

'Sara, don't tell me that… Christian needs blood?' Bruce asked and it caught people's attention.

'Didn't he just drink a while ago?' Rai questioned.

Sara nodded angrily but managed to keep it out of her tone, 'He did but it wasn't enough. I'm trying to think of something at the moment.'

'Why does he need blood again? To get his strength back? Couldn't he just rest?' Max asked.

'He could but it will take time we don't have and it's not permanent solution. Christian also used too much power and the strength he got from the blood from before was used up,' Sara explained.

Bruce glanced at the crowd and could see them covering their children and partners. They had the same idea Bruce had at first. There was one sure way to get blood to him but no one wanted to do it. Bruce swallowed, shook his head and offered his right hand to Sara.

'What are you…' Sara started but Bruce interrupted her.

'I believe you and I can see there is not much time left. Just take some of mine then. It's not a problem for me,' Bruce stated.

Rai protested and tried to pull Bruce back, 'Are you fucking crazy? Why would you do that?'

'The reasons haven't changed from before. Besides, we need his help,' Bruce said firmly. Sara could hear how sure Bruce was and stood up.

'Mr. Dickenson? Do you have tubes, syringes or something like that?' Sara asked and Dickenson nodded and lead her to the medical ward of the BBA building. It was there in case there were injuries or some other emergency. Everyone watched in horror as Sara and Dickenson returned, Bruce sat down next to Christian, Sara put a needle into Bruce's arm to hit his artery and do hospital style gadget to lead Bruce's blood out slowly.

'Have you done this before?' Bruce asked as Sara put the end of the tube into Christian's mouth and let blood pour into his mouth.

'Once but a long time ago. It was before I was turned into a vampire by my big brother,' Sara replied without looking at Bruce. She was watching the blood flow and Bruce because she didn't want to take too much but enough.

'How old were then and now? You look like a teenager, maybe around 14 year old,' Max asked while kneeling down next to her. Everyone knew that they were hundreds of years old and that Christian was oldest one.

'You have to give me a moment if you want to know the exact number what I probably can't give because I don't remember it,' Sara kept her eyes on the tube and was clearly professional with this, 'How are you feeling Mr. Granger?' Sara asked at the end.

'I feel fine and just call me Bruce,' Bruce answered as Rai gave him a glass filled with juice too. People around them were relaxed but perplexed why Bruce was giving a vampire his blood but they were slowly getting it for a moment.

'Can you tell us your age around some number?' Dickenson hoped Sara would continue talking. For Dickenson Sara gave an impression that she wasn't like her older brother and could be talked with calmly.

Sara was trying to calculate, 'Well… I don't recall what was said before when this was asked but Christian is over 500 years old now and I'm maybe around 350? I was 15 years old when Christian changed me, so it has been 350 years from that day. That's how I would calculate it.'

'How about you Lara?' Max asked turning around with curious look.

'Under 300… maybe 290? It's not easy to remember the age since we don't care about it,' Lara shook her head.

'You really age slowly,' Rai noted, 'Do you like grow? When are you adults?'

'If you mean by adults being taller and not look like teenagers, over 1000, minimum,' Sara answered, 'I mean… our father was almost 2000 years old when he was killed by our mom apparently. Before you ask she was over 1500 years old.'

'Apparently?' Rai was surprised and Bruce interrupted him quickly.

'Christian told us that their father was abusive and he saved her from him and their mother killed him and herself but we don't know the exact details,' Bruce explained, 'Only Christian here knows what happened that day but he hasn't anything else about the subject.'

Ruy stepped closer to Bruce to see what was happening better, 'How about Rick, Tina and Mike? May I guess that they are over 300 or something too?'

'Mike is around 390, Rick around 450 and Tina around 360. You were right though,' Sara replied as she took the tube out of Christian's mouth and the syringe out of Bruce's arm.

'Thank you… Bruce,' Sara bowed slightly and Bruce smiled warmly. One thing was clear to Bruce now. Even though they were vampires… not all of the were cold hearted. Glancing at Christian Bruce pondered why he was so manipulative. Ruy cut his thoughts short by grabbing his shoulder.

'Man, I feel young now,' Ruy chuckled lightly and many around them laughed too. Just then Sara's phone rang.

'It's Rick,' Sara answered the call, 'Hello… What?!' she screamed at the end. Bruce grabbed the phone and put it on the speaker.

'You heard me. Kai found the brats that are behind this and the one controlling these ghouls ordered them to attack the other two shelters. Kai texted me that he is heading towards the one where that Tyson kid is and asked me to head towards the other one,' Rick spoke way too calmly to their taste.

'Shouldn't you go there instead of calling Sara?!' Max asked frightened.

'You're on a speaker? *Sigh* Fine. I'll go there but do tell them there to prepare for a bloodbath in worst case scenario,' Rick didn't sound happy, 'What about Christian?'

'He used too much power and passed out like that one time. I got blood from Bruce here and Christian should recover quickly but he can't help right now,' Sara answered with sad and worried tone.

'Shit! Fine, I'll go there and ask Tina and Mike to help here. Mike is closer to Kai and goes there. See ya,' Rick closed the call and left everyone worried and scared out of their wits.

About the ages from before it was little bit on purpose (No one had an idea about the ages... like me XD). But I hope this cleared it up a bit :)
