Hi there again. Suggesstions are good and some were little a head of time. I'm not sure about the last one since I haven't watched that show but maybe I could give Kai more elemantal powers in the future. Who knows?
Do enjoy :D
Chapter 33: Is It The End?
-After Three Days In Japan-
'Anything to report?' officer chief Thomas asked as construct workers moved rocks, clutter, broken walls and everything else around him. He could hear drilling sounds and liked listening to them as another officer came from the distance. There was many areas to clean and rebuild and everyone has been working the last three days quickly and even happily. Many wanted to live on their own houses again.
'Nothing much. Another area has been cleaned mostly, designers are hard at work with the rebuilding and military also checking for places but most have been stationed at BBA building,' the officer replied after checking what was written down and handed the papers after talking.
'At the BBA building? Right,' Thomas nodded and turned back to the big empty area in front of him. It was completely smooth on the ground but buildings around it were ruined.
'It's the monsters that are staying there, isn't it?' officer sounded worried.
'Technically they are vampires but yes. Military seems to stay put for now because there are humans with them but who knows when or if they are going to strike there,' Thomas stated as he looked at the scene. He also read the reports from witnesses and he found them unbelievable, but they couldn't deny it. It seemed that vampires didn't want to engage against the vampires recklessly since they clearly had great power. But for now he had to concentrate on his work and try make sense of this current mess around him.
-In Front Of BBA Building-
Army people dashed back and forth as general stepped out of the car he just arrived in. People were scrambling and trying to keep people outside of BBA. The only people let in were Mr. Dickenson along with the ones he knew, mostly the monsters friends. General Hank glanced around and saw people glancing at the building as they walked either past it or tried to get in. He saw two people talking behind him loudly enough to hear.
'Why are the monsters allowed to be there?'
'Didn't they save us though?'
'What does it matter? They only saved us so they can have blood to drink.'
'I don't think it's just that.'
'Why are the military just standing here?'
Hank stopped listening the gossip and leaned against his car to wait for a call. He was informed that higher ups were talking about the situation and would tell them their decision at some point. Hank noticed a man go in and recognized him, Bruce Granger.
-With Christian And Others-
Kai had been sleeping for three days without giving a sign of waking up until doctor had brought them a blood bag to drink. Christian had given some to Kai and after an hour he had woken up. Tyson and others had also stayed with them the entire time and eaten the food from BBA cafeteria.
'Looks like more military has appeared outside,' Bruce said as he came in after visiting and bringing Gramps to the Granger's home, the dojo.
'Let me guess. It's about Christian and others,' Tyson said as Kai dressed up into his own clothes.
'It can't be anything else but just have to wait and see what they will do. But now that Kai has woken up, what will you do or want to do?' Bruce turned to Christian.
'Who knows,' Christian answered bluntly.
'You don't have a plan, do you?' Rick asked while leaning against the wall.
'I have my own ideas but human has another,' Christian pointed at Tyson who nodded quickly.
Rick rubbed his forehead annoyed, 'You seriously think humans will allow us to be if they remember us?'
'It has to be tried at least. There is a bigger chance if we do it together. Not like huge but something. Besides... I want Kai to be our team captain again,' Tyson added with sad tone in the end.
'A what? I know Christian returned your memories but that's not possible,' Kai argued since he couldn't disagree more.
'It can be but we just have to take one step at a time,' Tyson tried to reason.
'You do make some sense,' Kai stated as he sat on the bed.
'What did I just hear? Did you just admit I'm right?' Tyson leaned his ear next to Kai and got pushed away.
'Just this once I did,' Kai noted but he didn't sound angry or annoyed.
'Anyway, Mr. Dickenson is outside talking to different authorities about this and other matters. So the army outside will stay out but probably not for long,' Bruce informed them. Even though people were concentrating returning their own homes, it didn't stop the rumours and information about vampires spreading. While being out few times he had heard few of them and people we concerned about vampires powers and how danger they were.
'Looks like we have to wait here then a little longer,' Mike tapped his finger on the chair he was leaning against behind Tina. At the same time Kai glanced at Christian and noticed how deep in thought he was as Tyson complained once again.
'Why don't they get it that they saved us? So annoying!' Tyson dropped forward on the bed in his back.
'Tyson, it's been said many times and now they have seen how strong they are, specially Christian. They fear them,' Kenny replied.
'Christian might be even more sourpuss than Kai here but he wouldn't hurt the innocent and he had the reason to act like a jerk,' Tyson couldn't help it. He was so annoyed at the situation.
Tyson suddenly jumped and snapped his fingers, 'Why don't you just say it again what you told us before you left to kick those bastards' butts? From the start.'
'Sorry but no. It's not their business,' Christian immediately declined the idea.
'Come on. You clearly have hinted many times that your parents were an ass. Just spill it,' Tyson said and was poked in his side by Kenny to keep quiet.
Christian closed his eyes for a moment before standing up, 'Could all of you leave? I want to talk to Kai and Sara, alone without eavesdropping.'
Rick and others only glanced at each other before stepping out, and pulling Tyson and others with them. After door closed Christian turned his back towards Kai and Sara and crossed his arms.
'What is it?' Kai asked carefully.
'What I'm about to say, no one else knows. After everything I thought that at least for you two I need to say couple things,' Christian spoke with calm but serious tone which didn't leave them any doubt of his seriousness.
'Why would you do that? You never said anything when I asked about it,' Sara was shocked and Kai just stared at Christian.
'I don't know but after losing control again... even after so long... I don't know but you two need to hear this,' Christian didn't turn around and kept his eyes on the wall. Sara and Kai kept quiet and allowed Christian to continue on his own space.
'Kai, do you remember why vampires lose control of themselves, like you have few times?' Christian asked.
'Lack of blood mostly but… it's about emotions going crazy,' Kai answered and Christian nodded.
'Exactly. If emotions are not straight or in line, whatever you want to call it, even an experienced vampire can go out of control. It has happened to me twice,' Christian finally turned around and showed his empty eyes.
'I thought you didn't have this problem at all but twice?' Kai didn't want to push Christian since he was even more secretive than Kai was when he was with Tyson and others.
'Rick and Sara were the only once who saw it happen, others only have seen glimpse of it when I let it when I need to. I mean that power you witnessed there but otherwise they didn't really know what the power was actually like,' Christian said.
'Do you know why your emotions were like that for a moment? You keep your cool so well,' Kai asked but Christian chuckled.
'Not so well. Sara has been the one to calm me down many times if I get too angry,' Christian continued again, 'But I know the reason why that happened again.' Christian turned his face away again, like he was ashamed of something.
Kai recalled what Christian had mentioned couple of times, 'It's because of our parents, isn't it?'
'Our father to be exact. Mother was caring and loving but father… not so much,' Christian said and clenched his fists, 'I won't say much but he was really abusive. If I didn't act, speak or do anything like he wanted father would torture me.' Kai and Sara stared at Christian with wide eyes and even shocked.
Seeing that they didn't say anything Christian continued speaking, 'It began before I was a vampire either, Deny food, hitting, punching, breaking my ribs, ribs and back. And then finally I had enough and tried to kill myself when I was sixteen or seventeen years old.'
'Don't tell me that he…' Kai had shot up and was now standing.
'He did. He turned me into a vampire and continued the torture but this time added sunlight to the mix,' Christian said without emotions, 'Soon after I just ran away. In short while I was running around without plans I met Rick, Mike and Tina one after another in different times.'
'I do know you have turned Rick into a vampire but also Mike and Tina?' Sara asked.
Christian shook his head, 'I didn't. They were already vampires who were hurt at the time. Vampire hunters were frequent sight back then.'
'After leaving over two hundred years ago I learned that my parents had another child, Sara,' Christian continued the story soon after and Sara stood up as well, 'And just like with me, father was abusive towards her too. Not as badly but it was enough to get her fear him and cry.'
'Why don't I remember this?!' Sara shouted but then realized the answer herself in a second, 'You… Did you erase my memories?'
'Yeah… You were in really bad shape when I got you out when you were around fifteen years old. You were barely acknowledge me speaking to you, so I just… I erased your painful memories just before I turned you into a vampire as well. You healed fast after that and you know the rest,' Christian's voice tone cracked for a second but returned to normal calm one, 'If you want, I can return your memories to you but personally I don't want to.'
Sara closed her eyes for a moment before smiling and opening her eyes again, 'I believe you. So, don't do it.'
'And after that Lara and her sister appeared too?' Kai asked few minutes later.
'Marko and Jack came before her but they were searching for us since they were on the run as well. That's how everything was when you came into the picture,' Christian said, 'I might have done the same thing as I did with Sara back then but our parents died soon after you were born. You were also brought to out grandfather by marriage only. He's not our father's real father but that's only thing I know.'
'But you kept an eye on him?' Sara asked this time.
'Just few times as he was growing up. I wanted him to live as a human and not be in our shoes so to speak but Marko happened. You know the rest how it went,' Christian replied.
'Why didn't you treat me like a little brother then? I do blame you when it came to my outbursts and anger,' Kai asked.
'First you had just learned about vampires and second, I didn't know how to approach you that way yet. Your behaviour and expressions… were just like our father's few times. I don't want to use it as an excuse but it was painful to me even though I didn't show it. After I saw you come terms with this someway, I thought I had to change it quickly and try get to know you as you,' Christian spoke a long time and at the end Kai didn't know what to say. In the end, they were both blamed for the negative emotions between them but for different reasons.
'When you went out of control again… it was because of father?' Kai asked.
'It was. After Matt spoke it sounded like father… Then I just saw father's face and heard his voice. I also felt a familiar pain on my skin and just felt rage… and after that everything is black. I was out of control then and you saw how it goes with me,' Christian said.
'You don't have to worry about it,' Sara began but Christian stopped her.
'I have to worry about it. That's why I don't show emotions since keeping the pain away seems to be the only way to keep myself in control,' Christian took a hold onto Sara's shoulder, 'Don't worry about it. I have done it like this in years.'
'But doing that forever is not possible,' Kai argued, 'I'm going sound like an idiot but you might as well try come terms with it. By that I mean to understand that it happened and nothing changes that but he was wrong.'
'That sounded smart actually and you're right, but it's my burden,' Christian agreed.
'What happened the day they died? Did mother really kill him?' Sara asked next.
'She did. After Kai was born she had enough. I saw it happen from the distance since I had heard about Kai's birth as well. Mother managed to surprise him somehow and she snapped her fangs into his neck. By doing that she managed to hit his artery and kill him. But by doing the killing that way, she died as well. It's hard to explain but they kind of reversed their transformation and that's why their bodies didn't turn into dust,' Christian explained, 'And since I was there… I cut the fang marks from father's neck and made it look like mother had killed him the way human would have.'
'Understandable. To hide vampires existence,' Kai nodded. He didn't feel any sadness when it came to father but he would have liked to meet their mother but she was at peace now too.
'Well. We should go outside now. Others have been waiting for a long time.' As Christian turned to the door Kai stopped him.
'Wait. I have one more thing to say,' Kai said as Christian turned around slightly.
'What you said just now… At first I would have said it sounded like an excuse but not anymore. I also didn't allow it by rejecting whatever you tried to say to me and didn't think you as my brother… Shit,' Kai grunted since he wasn't good at this emotional stuff, 'Why not just forget it and just start over or something? I mean… I'm sorry for my behaviour.'
Christian gave a small smile, 'That sounds like an idea. We can start it with our brother talk when there is time.'
'Didn't we just talk to like brother to brother. No leader and Sir stuff?' Kai smirked and Christian laughed.
'So be it then,' Christian walked to the door with them behind him.
-With Tyson And Others Earlier-
'They have been talking over a half hour already,' Tyson stated.
'It must be serious then. Christian must be telling them something about his past,' Max had glanced at the door few times. They couldn't hear any word from inside the room and could only wait.
'Shouldn't we also know about it? Or Rick and others at least?' Tyson pointed out.
'I agree with the human,' Tina said with a smile.
'I have a name you know,' Tyson frowned at Tina who was standing in front of him on the other side of the hallway.
'Tyson, sorry,' Tina chuckled.
'It's not our business. You should remember that,' Rick said. He wasn't any different from others and was curious of Christian's past but unlike others, he wanted to respect Christian's choices.
'Of course you would say that. You're the loyal dog of his,' Tina stated bluntly and Rick growled as a result.
'Calm down you two,' Lara stepped between them before things turned ugly.
'I agree with Lara here. No need to get angry,' Bruce stepped in as well without fear, 'Being loyal is a good trait.'
'Well thanks for that,' Rick sighed annoyed, 'But Tina, don't forget this. Christian is our leader and nothing has changed that.'
'Of course I agree with you there. We would have been toast a long time ago if it wasn't for him,' Tina spoke seriously, 'For me there is no other leader.'
'All of you sound like loyal dogs as you put it,' Tyson added happily and Tina blushed a bit.
'Alright. You got me,' Tina admitted. At the Tyson and others laughed with Tina and Lara and Rick and Mike smirked but felt relax as well when door opened.
'What are you people laughing at?' Christian asked puzzled.
'You have loyal friends here,' Dickenson answered with a smile.
'You don't say,' Christian gazed at Rick and others.
'We just made it clear that you'll be our leader and no one else, Sir,' Rick bowed a little.
'We don't have to call you Sir, do we?' Tyson jumped in front of Christian.
'No, obviously. Rick and others can do that if they want but not all the time. We don't have to do business every second,' Christian said.
'Yes Sir!' Tina bowed deeply and Christian shook his head annoyingly but did smirk too. Tyson and others couldn't help but smile too. They hadn't forgotten what Christian and others were but they seemed like any other friend group with deep connections.
Behind them Mike was rolling a small rock in his hand slowly as his smirk dropped, 'Christian was more powerful than I thought and I can see that even Kai is completely on his side now,' Mike thought, 'Rick is also trouble.' Mike stopped rolling the rock in his hand and bit inside his lip in annoyance.
Even the door to the hallway opening and army general walking in didn't stop his stare at Christian's back.
-Mike's Flashback-
After Christian had teleported away Lara and Mike were running after Erik. In matter of minutes path split in front of them.
'You go right. I'll go left,' Mike suggested and Lara nodded. Mike ran with fast speed and saw Erik leaning against the wall.
Mike smirked, 'Look who we have here.' Erik quickly turned around and his eyes widened.
'It's you… Fucking liar! You didn't tell us that Christian was so strong!' Erik shouted and turned around while holding his arm in pain.
'It surprised me too today. I always knew he was stronger than he seemed but is holding back. But don't get angry at me. You were the ones who agreed to help me after I saved you from death,' Mike reminded with annoyed tone. Erik lowered his head and dropped on his knees.
'If it wasn't for me, you would still be dead in that warehouse,' Matt continued as he walked closer.
'But Matt and Gina are dead anyway! I wanted to kill Kai but you said it was big brother who was responsible,' Erik stated.
'Because it's true since Christian is Kai's donor. I gave you every change to succeed, I hid you from Christian's powers, caused them trouble behind the scenes by trying to involve the police again with them,' Mike walked past Erik behind him.
'What did you do?' Erik asked quickly.
'It doesn't matter but for example I send them a message when Christian was out along with others. Just small things like that,' Mike glanced at his hand it began to glow slowly.
'What are you even trying to do?! Kill Christian or something?!' Erik managed to shout before Mike quickly turned around and touched Erik's forehead turning Erik into dust right after.
'A failure doesn't need to know,' Mike sighed with fake sadness in his voice, 'Christian has lived long enough but mostly I'm pissed. We vampires are superior to humans but we have to hide instead. It's time to change that but I need Christian out of the way.'
-End Of Flashback-
'Christian is too strong to be dealt with directly. I need to try something else,' Mike thought as army general stopped in front of them with his hands behind his back.
'You must be Stanley Dickenson. I'm general Hank,' general introduced himself.
'Nice to meet you. How may we help?' Dickenson asked.
'I didn't expect manners but I think you know why I'm here,' Hank turned his gaze towards Christian and others, 'You people are sheltering… vampires here.'
'Well, yes because they would get killed right away. They saved us,' Bruce said.
'And we know that and so does the people but that doesn't seem to be enough for them,' Hank stated the obvious.
'Obviously. What they need is them to slice their wrists and necks,' Tyson growled and Max pulled him back.
'Pretty much and I personally agree,' Hank nodded and saw his word immediately caused Tyson step in front of the vampires.
'But professionally I have to wait for my higher ups orders and I just got them,' Hank said. Tension increased and while Tyson and others were nervous, Christian and others simply waited with cold expressions.
'We have been ordered to… stand down for now,' Hank revealed anxiously slowly and Tyson dropped on his butt soon after with a big sigh.
'What else?' Bruce asked.
'For now we have been ordered to leave vampires alone and they are allowed to go out if they want, but it won't stop people from showing their opinions. What happens with this now and in the future is been discussed and will take a long time since many people do agree with you too,' Hank spoke.
'Some agree with us? They shouldn't be killed?' Kenny asked quickly.
'Yes. Your speeches and arguments have spread among the survivors to abroad as well and it has become a big debate. So for now it has been decided that we don't do anything to them. But it has been asked that they… live here in the BBA. It might be the saves option as well,' Hank said before leaving them. He needed to order the army to leave the building and go help with police with their work next.
'It's a start at least but still. First I was babysitting and now I'm babysat. Sheesh,' Rick stated annoyed.
'You said though. It's a start and you can leave outside,' Tyson reminded.
'Tyson is right there but would you allow us to provide you the blood you need for now?' Dickenson asked.
Christian pondered a moment before answering, 'Fine. It's not like we can hunt for a while.'
'And how long you think this will last?' Mike asked curiously.
'Who knows but probably for a while. Unless you want to go hunt and make them kill us because of it?' Christian said.
'You're right,' Mike said playfully. He didn't seem bothered by this but like others, they were annoyed.
'Well then, I need to go make a room for all of you,' Dickenson said before leaving next and Bruce followed soon.
'Why don't we go beyblade in the mean time? We have a match to finish and now I have a chance since I remember your moves now,' Tyson grabbed Kai's wrist and started to pull him towards a beyblade stadium at upper floor.
'Don't be so sure Tyson,' Kai smirked and allowed Tyson to pull him.
'Let's go watch. It should be interesting,' Tina said. She, Lara and Sara ran after Kai and Tyson while Max and Kenny walked with Christian and the rest. They slowly arrived to the upper floor and match had already began. Just like from before Tyson was having trouble but was managing better now.
Mike was last to step in the room and he closed the door as Dranzer and Dragoon were attacking each other. Mike's eyes wandered again towards Christian with annoyance but he hid it. Christian was sharp and he had to lay low for now not to raise his suspicion.
'Maybe I should try exploit Christian's weakness. But I need to find about it first… It might be the one why he lost control? I need to somehow make him weak first before attempting anything. He really is big trouble,' Mike thought for a moment before turning his attention to the atmosphere. Everyone seemed content and even Lara was enjoying herself. Was Mike the only to feel disgusted by this?
And finally we are here. End of this story. The planned third sequel is going to be written. There we can see how or can the vampires even live among humans XD Who knows how things go.
Hope you liked this and want to read the sequel. See ya later :)
