BNHA: Dual Fates
Chapter 30: Secluded area.
"WHAAA!" Two voices in unison, exclaimed when the outside of a building appeared. Inside stood Kirishima and Tetsu with their hero costumes on, they were rather surprised at each other. "Tetsutetsu!" Eijiro gawked at his silver-haired pal, who only returned the same by mentioning his name.
With a manly greet with their hands, their palms clapped when they clasped together and couldn't help but grin at each others' company. "Why are you here?!" In unison, they asked, nothing but excitement radiating from their forms when they did so; soon their greetings came to a halt when their trainer gained their attention.
"We were able to put two offers in. Let's get started with ado," a large man behind a desk, rose his voice. One pair of arms were folded while the other stayed clamped to his waist, the sense of dominance was obvious as he stood there.
"I look forward to working with you!" Both of the boys, spoke simultaneously after they gave their trainer a respectful bow.
"I saw your guts at the sports festival. I like you two. However, being a hero's not so easy that you can rely on brute force alone. I will teach you that, as someone with more experience," the pro hero explained, only to earn more excitement from one of the boys.
"As expected of the chivalrous hero!" Tetsu exclaimed, followed by a, so manly, comment from his pal in red who clenched a fist.
With a harsh slam of his fist, the pro hero roared with anger to shut the boys up. "Wait for me to finish!" As soon as he did, the two in front of him bowed instantly with quick shouts of apologies in return. "I'll teach you manners properly, too," his words only made the boys raise back up with exclamations of appreciation, so he continued.
The hero leaned back in his chair after his fingers intertwined, his golden rings never went unnoticed and anyone would be able to see professionalism in his movements. "First, I'll tell you the major premise. Pro heroes receive wages from the government, so we are civil servants, but because of how this came about, civil servants and pro heroes are very different. Regarding the actual duties of a pro hero..." As time passed when he explained, the two in front of him appeared as though they understood and a stern nod was given.
After giving them the earful of information and being scolded for improper tea making, it wasn't long until they were given some time to chill. Kirishima decided to use his time to text Uviel and couldn't stop his grin from showing. Did you get to meet your hero, yet? In his text, he asked, and waited for a reply.
From the answer he received, he felt overwhelmed by her cuteness when her text mentioned how excited she was to be there. One after another, a message pinged his phone as he watched with awe. Adorable emote faces almost at the end of every sentence she'd make, the exclamation marks, and some letters in all caps, it glued his goofy grin onto his face.
"Hey, Kirishima!" Over, came his rival, whose black eyes bore into red ones after he took notice of his flushed cheeks. "You're blushing! What're you looking at?!" Now, he too became flustered, so he ran over quickly to take a peek and saw the lighter redhead's messages. "How did you get her number?!" astonishment and a hint of jealousy laced his question. If only he was able to talk to Uviel like Eijiro, he'd more than likely distract her too much...
"I got it during the sports festival. We chat a lot when we're playing Stargazers Online!" Nervousness was clear on his face, as faint beads of sweat trickled and a chuckle left his lips. His closed eyes and the hand he used to rub the back of his neck, only made the iron-man feel taken aback by his words that much more.
"I heard about that game, she mentioned it once, I think. By her texts, I'm guessing she's really loving it so far!" Tetsu's grin broadened when he read more of them and not much longer did his own cheeks redden, even more than they already were.
"She is! I bet she's getting the same premise as we received from our internship just now," His red eyes looked back at the texts, hoping to hear from her often, sparkled as he gazed upon his screen.
~~~Uviel~~~
Saito's black upper lips curled into a cute smile, when she read Kirishima's words of encouragement, just a few minutes after she sent her excited messages. He's so sweet... He doesn't think it's weird that I'm gushing like this. Her cheeks burned red the more she thought about the boy, only until recognition hit her like a truck, it was then that she realized something. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever fangirled this much to Haru about Edgeshot. When she saw a hand smoothly swoop in front of her face, a gasp escaped after her phone was taken away. "Hey!" her blue eyes darted to the pro hero who drove, with a single hand on the wheel as Shinya kept his attention on the road.
"I'm going to explain the premise to you about heroes and how they work. I'd prefer to do so before we truly begin your training. So while I'm driving us to our secluded spot, I'll go over them and make sure you understand. Any distractions, such as your phone, will be confiscated until training is over at the end of each day," Kamihara's voice was so smooth and quick, Uviel found herself a little mesmerized.
She couldn't help but pout and look out her window, with a faint grumble escaping. "Y- Yeah, sure..." Finding it fair was a bit hard for her, nonetheless, she gave him a nod and let him continue.
Maybe five minutes, of listening to him explain how heroes and civil servants work, sort of intrigued her. Pay from the government, a heroes' duty was controlling crime, how the police contact heroes for support, and how a hero's performance could determine their pay depending on agencies. Side jobs were allowed alongside heroism, while everyday heroes must train to become stronger, in fact, Uviel already knew the latter.
There was much to be told for her to note down, so while he talked, she chose to pull out a paper and pen from her bag to jot the information down. The girl was willing to learn as much as she could from her idol hero, even some hilarious things that she took notice of. A smile grew on her lips at the thought of how he looked when she first saw him hop into the driver's seat.
"We're almost there. Now, do you have any questions?" his eyes tore from the road for only a second to peek at her, proud of her effort so far, nearly made his own grin appear behind his mask.
"Just...one," Uviel mumbled shyly after she put her notes and pen into her bag again, thankful that she jotted them down for future references. "If we ever come across my friend- and if she ever tries to attack out of the blue..." the girl trailed off with mourn in her eyes, she didn't really know how to ask.
"Don't worry, I understand your situation with her. If worse comes to worst, I'll simply render her unconscious. To be honest, if she hadn't run away during the tournament, I would've sent two offers instead of one. Now- when we arrive, keep in mind to wear your costume as I've mentioned before," After he explained, in his peripherals he saw the girl nod, and with a quick glance in her direction, he could see an appreciative smile; most likely directed toward him knocking Haru out as a last resort.
Not too much longer did the car turn a corner, they were outside of the city and far from any neighboring houses. A beautiful forest surrounded a dirt path that trailed further in, eventually, it led to a gorgeous waterfall cascading over a really high cliff; bits of flowers here and there danced in the gentle breeze. Uviel took notice of all of the lovely details as he drove the vehicle down the path, passing many trees along the way. "Wow, this place is beautiful." Astonished, it was so breathtaking that she could even imagine a hard-core martial artist meditating under the falls while sitting on a high rock.
"Indeed, it's one of many places I prefer to visit when I'm going to train," Shinya replied with a sigh of relief, it felt nice to him to return to his secluded training area. At a slow stop, the car was parked a few feet away from a stream of glistening waters not too far from the falls. With a swift motion of his hand, he opened his door and waited for her to do the same. "Hm, before you get out, go ahead and get dressed. I'll wait near the falls," he made his way over to the waterfall before his arms folded against his chest. Those gray eyes of his closed, patience were one of his best qualities and a calm mind; if anything, privacy was certainly respected as well.
C- Change...in here?! What if someone sees?! Uviel's mind flipped at the thought of dressing herself in public. However, with a swift glance all around, she could tell that little to no people ever visited. The lack of litter and human markings made it clear to her.
Therefore, she decided to trust Edgeshot. The girl crawled into the back of the car so she could change and pulled out the rocket boots Hatsume made for her. A quick, appreciative smile, graced her lips for a moment before pulling out her outfit.
Five to ten minutes was what it took for her to put it all on. It was difficult to do so considering the lack of space... Over her hidden eye, cutting across her forehead, and over most of her hair above her other eye, laid a black leather band. It was her and Haru's attempt at a mask, for her costume.
Next, a black leather shoulder cape reached close to her wrist and was pretty loose so it could provide free movement; a leather armor piece held the cape down, to make sure it won't fall off. Red, if not darker, than her hair, was the color of her really short and sleeveless shirt just beneath the armor piece.
She wore a pair of black shorts that were held up by a belt that had a similar color as her top, its buckle was dark too. There wasn't a whole lot to her outfit, it angered her a little that Haru made sure it revealed a lot of her pale complexion... Most of the cybernetic lines on her body were exposed, much to her distaste; regardless, since it was mostly Haru's design idea, she couldn't simply pass it up.
Her best friend helped her make it, why toss it aside? So thus, her pride was gulped down, her rocket boots gradually stepped out once she climbed to the passenger side, and opened the door. There the girl stood, the sweet smell of the surrounding pines and other trees filled her nose.
"Oh, crap!" quickly, Uviel turned around to reach into the car and grabbed her Decennial staff, which remained in its retracted form. A sigh of relief escaped when she held it close, however, it was soon cut short when Kamihara spoke.
"I see you're dressed. Very well, now- Let's begin our first lesson... I must teach you to keep a calm mind in serious situations. Come," His voice made the girl whip around to see him walking away, it encouraged her to follow after he said so and moved the retracted staff to her side.
"Coming!" her steps quickened to catch up, the sound of the grass, leaves, and thin sticks crunching beneath her feet resonated as she did so.
~~~Hitoshi~~~
Through the street, they weaved past citizens as they grew closer to the school. Shinso truly hoped that Mr. Aizawa would be there, if not, he would have to ask the Principal. He knew that school wasn't in session, but also knew that there had to be some teachers there to guard it.
When they approached the gate, he and Wani both stood with conflicted emotions after they noticed that it was locked. "How're we even gonna get a hold of those teachers?" The Crock behind him grumbled with annoyance. The contemplating look in Shinso's purple eyes seemed to have made him angry since his fists clenched and a foot rose in front of the gate.
"Wait, don't kick it down! It'll set off an alarm," Hitoshi's hand rose to halt the Crock, he was lucky he did, or else he'd have to explain everything to the teachers later. From his pocket, a cellphone was taken out so he could unlock its screen.
From the home screen to contacts, he navigated, in search of Mr. Aizawa's name. Hesitation could be seen in his eyes, he didn't know if it'd be a good idea to call since he knew for a fact how often tired the teacher became.
The memory of when he received his number came flooding back into his mind. When he stood in front of the teacher just before school let out and all of the students were gone, he was the last one to leave. "Mr. Aizawa gave me his number just in case I ran into Yukimura- I can give him a call, this is an emergency," Quickly, his fingers selected the teacher's name and placed the phone to his ear.
One minute, two minutes, three, it kept ringing, impatience began to well up the longer it did and he had half the mind to give up. However, upon the sound of a click, the ringing stopped and his teacher's voice filled his ears. "Hello? Hitoshi?" It was immediate, the sound of his voice seemed concerned a little by how he panted over the phone.
"Mr. Aizawa, I was coming to the school thinking you or some other teacher might still be there, but it's closed right now. So I had to give you a call, this is an emergency," His purple eyes sharpened at that, in his mind he practically screamed for the teacher to hurry up and answer.
"Did you find Haru?" His once concerned voice was replaced with that of seriousness, but, only for a moment did he fall into disappointment when Shinso answered.
"No, but I know a way that we can." The boy knew for a fact that his idea could possibly work, to capture the Hitman for questioning seemed to be the only option they had. A moments' silence ensured as he waited for the teacher to answer, he could hear shuffling in the background and a much clearer voice when he finally spoke.
"How?" Stern, Aizawa made sounds, of him taking out a piece of paper and pencil. He was going to take note of the plan so it could be looked over.
"Haru's father tried to kill me and I know he'll try to kill Saito. He said that he has to get rid of any witnesses to his family's secret and that he'll kill anyone, adult or child, who learns of it. He's going after Yukimura's friend, we could use that to our advantage and capture him. I need to know where she is so I can tell her internship about it, so the hero will be prepared to protect her in time. We don't have a lot of time on our hands to do-" before the boy could even finish, the teacher's own words overran him reassuringly.
"She's with Edgeshot, they're in a secluded training area specifically picked out by him. I'll inform him of the issue and I'll come to get you, we can meet up with them there as long as Edgeshot gives me directions. Your plan is decent but you have to consider the cons. We'll plan more together after I pick you up- Stay at the school's gate," As soon as he demanded the boy, the call ended, and Shinso was left alone with the tall Crock.
"Oi... How're you gonna explain me being here?" Wani's sweatdrop remained unnoticed by the student next to him, he hoped he wouldn't get in trouble since he's known as a villain. He was just glad that the kid didn't know who he was.
"Don't worry about that. I'll tell him that you're coming with us, you'll be good muscle to fend off that Hitman, and I don't think Mr. Aizawa's going to care too much- Unless you try to attack us out of nowhere," With a turn of his feet, he fully faced the scaly beast clad in a dark cloak and put his hands casually into his pockets.
"Yukimura told me about how you two met... If you try to encourage her to follow her own villainous path, I'll make sure you don't see the light of day again," Dangerous eyes bore into stunned yellow ones at that moment. Between the two, their sizes, muscle mass, and height didn't matter if he had his chance at controlling the Crock into doing whatever he wanted.
Wani was actually a little scared of the boy for a minute, to know he's capable of controlling his mind, if taken off guard, he'd make him sit in prison for the rest of his life. Those strong fists clenched with anger at the boy's words, it unnerved him to know that he was against him. This little brat! He doesn't understand what it's like to be forced into the dark path or be seen as a villain! He doesn't know what it's like to not have a choice to go down it! Haru's suffering from her own blood, she's fighting herself constantly and is being forced into her father's footsteps! If she doesn't want to be a villain like him, she can become any other kind of villain she wishes! She can become her own kind of villain! in his mind, he raged. Those sharp, crocodile teeth bared from the ever-growing anger, however, as he watched the boy avert his eyes to the road behind them, he straightened up and took a moment to breathe.
