BNHA: Dual Fates

Chapter 33: Voice of an Angel

A/N: Sorry guys, if this chapter seems too boring! Dx

Also- I need to take a REALLY long break from writing... I mean LONG too. I'm unhealthy and I need to get back into shape... My problems need to come to an end, I'm tired of this.

I've been super dizzy for the past couple of weeks and sleep apnea suddenly kicked in, so I need to do something. I don't know how long i'll be away, but until I'm healthier I can't go back to writing. No matter the withdraws I have from not writing, I have to fight it. I need to make some room for working out so that means cutting off my writing for a few to several months; I hope you can understand. ): P.S: I'm not discontinuing, I'm putting this on a hold for a while until further notice. This Author's note will be removed once I come back. Thank you all for reading this, for this is an important notice so no one will think I'm dead. XD

As nervous as could be, on the school's rooftop, Uviel nibbled at a sandwich she picked up from her tray and kept her knees together. Her back was against the outside wall of the stairwell as the smell of Eijiro's...cologne floated around her? He's so close! And, why does he smell...nice? Her mind was in a panic, her heart rammed against her ribs, and her face remained a deep red color while she ate.

The very boy's face, in fact, had the same redness as hers. His red hues focused on the food on his tray and used his chopsticks to bring noodles to his lips. "This smells so good!" a delightful fragrance filled his nose before the food was shoved into his mouth. Steam lifted from the noodles and provided a nice, warm sensation upon his face. "I can't wait for you to see my costume! I really want to know what you think! Also, what does yours look like?" he beamed with energy, as he turned on his butt to fully face the cybergirl and kept his tray in his hands. "Wait! Don't tell me, I want to see for myself. Are you ready for training today? I heard All Might's going to host it!" Pure excitement was inevitable, Uviel's hand had to prop herself up from behind to prevent falling backward. Her eyes locked onto really close red ones when he was inches from her crimson-colored face.

Nervous, a faint gulp from her throat, the cybergirl could feel beads of sweat trickle down her skin at the close proximity. "R- Really? C- Cool. I can't wait to see, either... And, All Might?" She felt too nervous to speak properly, let alone hold onto the conversation. His smell, their closeness, the rapid pounding in her chest, and how she could hear her own pulse in her ears made talking rather difficult.

"Y- Yeah!" Eijiro couldn't help but stutter after he realized how close they were. So, instantly, he sat up straight and turned back around to sit as he did before. "Sorry, I didn't mean to get so close. I was too excited," Embarrassment was an understatement, his attention went to his food while shame and nervousness took over his face. I'm so stupid, why was I so close?! She'll probably think I'm a pervert or something! In his mind, he ranted to himself and prayed that she thought otherwise. No, I can't think like that! Come on, be a man! His worry was soon replaced with self-reassurance when he tried to cheer himself up.

"I- It's okay! I- didn't mind," her blue eyes averted to the side after she mumbled that last part. Damn, I slipped! I hope he didn't just hear that! The girl kept scolding herself for the awkward answer near the end and hoped he didn't pick up on the last bit.

Uviel couldn't see the utterly shocked expression on the boy and his flustered face, since her attention was directed to the other side. Yes, he heard every word, so he too, quickly looked away and lifted his chopsticks. Rapidly pulling up noodles and eating them, he aimlessly looked around for something to drink but found that there wasn't any to have. I need a soda! Panic, his heart could be felt ramming against his ribs and pulsating in his ears when he stood up. "D- Do you want a drink?! I can go get us one!" He did his best to hide his embarrassment with a joyful, toothy grin and watched her perk her head up to him.

"Sure! Um, thanks. Can I have... S- Some tea, please?" not once did her red cheeks fade, her blue eyes glanced up at him for a second before they returned to her food.

"Yeah, sure thing!" In a hurry, relieved that he could take a moment to calm down, he ran down the stairwell after reaching its door and made his way through the school.

As he hurried to the nearest drink machine, he nearly bumped into the iron-man who went across the hall from around the corner. Kiri was thankful for stopping in time and skidding to a halt almost caused him to fall onto his butt. "Tetsutetsu, what brings you here?" his question made the silver-haired boy glance at him from the side and couldn't stop his friendly grin from forming.

"Just grabbing a drink before lunch is over! I need something with a good kick in it, to keep me boosted for my next training with my class!" With his black eyes moving to the machine, money was soon put through the slot and his fingers trailed along to find the number he wanted. Two to three seconds, later out came an energy drink, it fell into an open compartment for him to grab.

He did exactly that, just to turn and face the redhead with a swift flick of the tap to the can and took a sip. "Uviel and I are eating on the roof, I'm just here to grab us some drinks," Just when Ejiro was about to take his turn at the machine, a large burst of Tetsu's drink sprayed all over his face when the iron-man nearly choked over it.

Surprise lit up both of their faces, that was, until... "HUUUH?! You're both eating together? Alone?! Damn you, always one step ahead!" Hysterical, angry, sharp teeth and white eyes replaced his once astonished features.

"I have to be.~" After Kiri wiped his face of the can's contents, a beaming smile, and a thumbs-up was all he gave the boy. As fast as he could, he reached the machine and scanned his red eyes across the options. Tea and his own preferred drink were selected within a few seconds. He had to ignore the fuming words behind him so he could focus on getting back to Saito.

"Oi, come back here!" Finally, Tetsu gained Kiri's attention, but it was only a few seconds of his glance before he bolted to the hall he ran from before and scaled the stairs. Mr. Iron-man gave chase the whole time, raising his voice furiously to stall the redhead and get ahead of him but alas- He had failed; in fact, he nearly bumped into him on the way up the stairs. "Hey, what are you doi-?!" A faint, gentle, angelic voice filled his ears and the sight of Eijiro's widened, gawking eyes made him want to see too.

Outside of the stairwell, where Uviel stood, unaware of the door hanging open with them in its frame, came a melodic voice that would entrance just about anyone.

"I think...she's-" Kiri was too mesmerized to complete his sentence, awestruck would be an understatement at this point since his cheeks brightened upon hearing her lovely voice.

~~~Uviel~~~
When Kiri had bolted for the stairwell and went to grab drinks, the sound of her own heart continued to pound in her ears. Kirishima, every time I'm around you I feel so intoxicated... No, not intoxicated, it's as if I'm under a spell almost. Every time you're around I feel like I can see clearly as if my darkness gets punctured by a bright light. Her thoughts echoed as she stood close to the edge of the roof and held her cellphone tight, close to her hip.
When I'm sad, your smile cheers me up, when I need you, you always seem to show... If Haru hadn't told me that I actually, really liked you- I wouldn't have understood why I always felt so...nervous around you. My heart races when I'm around you, I keep feeling my cheeks burn, when I'm sad or upset I'm always wishing you're with me. Am I sick or something? No, I can't be... I know I really like him, but this feels stronger than that and it can't be love, can it? again, her mind rambled on. Those blue hues continued to stare over the edge at the forestry horizon and pondered.
"I keep finding myself wanting to be around you... You opened my eyes, supported me, helped me, you're always there for me. My best friend showed me the path and I decided to walk it, I never expected to actually drop my scared, past self. She was trying to help me move on and it feels like I finally am, but now..." the grip on her phone tightens as stray tears cascaded down her pale cheeks. "Thanks to Kirishima, thanks to everyone for encouraging me and to not be afraid-" a pause, her heart rammed through her chest before her phone rose to her eyes, so she could scroll through a song she had in her music library.
(Play: Feint & Laura Brehm - Solace (Official Lyric Video) It's her voice type and a song for Kiri! 3)
"You're my light in this darkness..." More tears strayed from her cheeks as the song on her phone began to play. "Kirishima," a soft whisper fell from her lips, as they opened to begin to sing. Her phone was placed on the edge of the roof and its lyrics began not much longer after it played its beautiful start on medium volume.
"I could tell within a moment, you knew me well. I could see you gave me solace when I needed someone there. In the darkness, I still see you, like a golden arch. Rising high above the sunset, in every way you are," she began and began to softly spin in place to feel herself loosen up her nervousness.
"I know that everything's in focus now. I'm seeing clearly for the first time! Today, I, woke up feeling more alive. Tomorrow, everything will turn around!~" Her lungs sung out beautifully as she danced to the long beat afterward. Unbeknownst to the girl, a pair of black and red eyes watched in awe as she genuinely smiled throughout the long instrumental part.
"All the days when I was searching, for some kind of sign. Now I've reached the destination, with someone of my kind.~ Keep me breathing with a feeling, like an LED light! Now we're moving through the shadows, you woke me up tonight!~" Again, she continued singing the lyrics from the song and didn't stop joyful giggles to leave her lips.
"I know that everything's in focus now. I'm seeing clearly for the first time! Today, I, woke up feeling more alive. Tomorrow, everything will turn around!~" Her heart, felt so lifted the more she sang and the freedom of picking up on singing, which she hadn't done in years, felt so good to her.
Saito continued to dance gently and move her arms out. The sweet sensation of her voice reaching the sky made her feel like she could fly at that moment.
Kirishima couldn't break his gaze from her beautiful voice and the words leaving her mouth. He heard it, the last bit of her sentence when she said that he was her light when the song had just begun. He couldn't believe it, her voice was like an angel, so soft, sweet, gentle, and entrancing. Although, the same could not be said for Tetsu, for he didn't get to hear Kiri's name being whispered since he arrived a second too late behind him.
She has to be talking about me! Steam, puffed from the iron-man's nose after he mentally exclaimed and didn't even notice the red tints painting his cheeks. His position was hysterical, the boy was leaned over with dangling arms and too much in awe to really pay attention to Kirishima's reaction.
She was lovely, she looked so alive while she sang and more life filled her eyes as images of Kiri's sweet smile flooded her mind.
After the song ended, heavy breaths escaped the cybergirl who panted and stared at the passing clouds. A smile continued to lay across her lips before she reached over and turned the playlist off. Kirishima, thank you... Wow, I haven't sung in a long time. I always sing to myself though, alone. Pondering, her smile fell when she thought about that last word- alone.
Kirishima felt too reluctant to approach Saito. He was too mesmerized by the replay of her voice in his mind after she finished and couldn't even hear Tetsu's whispers that tried getting his attention.
"Kirishima...! Kirishima, hello?" Harsh, quiet words, only anger made his teeth grind when he couldn't get through to the darker redhead; he was lucky Uviel didn't hear him...
~~~Later~~~

"Okay, I am here," began a deep voice as the view of the training grounds appeared. Not long, did it show the 1-A students who all gathered in front of All Might, wearing their costumes. His were hands on his hips, a strong stance, Kirishima paid close attention to the teacher as thoughts of Uviel's beautiful voice and her quiet words replayed in his mind.

Uviel... A soft whisper, in his head, he spoke, that was until All Might continued.

Just behind the group, unbeknownst to them all, stood Saito who kept quiet so no one would know that she arrived late. Why did Haru have to make my costume expose so much skin?! I just started getting used to wearing it around Kamihara, but I don't know if I can get used to it around the others! Her cheeks burned red with embarrassment, feeling her skin exposed to the public felt very uncomfortable.

"Anyway, we'll start now. Right- It's hero basic training! Long time no see, boys and girls! How've you been?!" A moment of silence filled the air for only a couple of seconds, as his shaded-over eyes scanned over each student. "For this time's hero basic training- Since you've all just gotten back from your internships, we'll have some fun with a rescue training race!" A finger rose to his permanent smile, just to earn an outburst from Iida who raised his hand.

"If we are doing rescue training, then shouldn't we do it at USJ?" As soon as the boy asked, All Might was right on the dot with answering his question.

"This place is for training for disasters. Do you remember what I said?" he started and not but a couple of seconds did he answer for them. "That's right! I said 'race'! This is Field Gamma! A dense area filled with factories laid out like a labyrinth. You'll break up into 4, five-person groups, and go through the training one group at a time. When I send a distress signal somewhere inside, you'll all start at once from the outside of the city! It's a race to see who will rescue me first! Of course, you'll have to keep damage to buildings, to a minimum," Very slowly did his finger point over to Bakugo, who only turned his head away with a scowl present.

His mumbled words couldn't be heard from where Uviel stood, but she could definitely see the teacher's eyes glance questionably at her. Though, as soon as he did, he saw her small hand raise to gain his attention. "Yes, uuuuh..." he had to ponder for a minute, for he hasn't encountered her enough times to remember her name.

"Uviel...Saito," The cybergirl shyly averted her blue hues from his own before continuing. "I, um... Well, I'm an odd-one-out. What would happen if I can't find a group with a spot open?" Nervous, all heads turned to see her, and Kirishima had nearly face-planted into the ground upon seeing her costume, if he didn't hold his own feet steady.

A pink, love-struck background appeared behind her, in his eyes, and couldn't stop his cheeks from burning at her exposed skin. She's so pretty! And cool! Did she make that herself?! his thoughts echoed while his red eyes examined each part of her outfit.

No one, in 1-A, expected a shy girl to wear such a costume that revealed her waist, her thighs, the entirety of her arms, and a tight short shirt. The shoulder cape's high collar concealed one side of her face except for her only visible eye, which refused to look at the others. "Ah, yes! Sorry about that! We haven't been around each other enough for me to remember, haha! Anyway, if you can't find a spot open I could have a few other teachers to help with your training including myself; since, it is, after all, my responsibility right now as your teacher. Now, if there's no more questions-" he started, then soon continued with his speech.

"Alright, first group! Get in place!" he announced and watched all of the students form a group.

Uviel awkwardly stood there as they did so and already saw a group of four make their way to the starting line. Wow, that was fast. A simple comment of bewilderment echoed.

However, when she peeked over to Eijiro, her eyes bugged out at the sight of all of his muscle and the sick outfit that exposed them. Beads of sweat trickled down her forehead as she stared at his biceps and abdomen. The warmth immediately enveloped her cheeks, the costume he wore complimented his manliness and red hair.

Uviel never expected blood to leave her nose, but when she noticed, her small hand quickly covered it up and averted her attention. Holy-! Why is he so hot!? Why did I just say that?! Why did I feel so weird when I saw his bo- bod-body?! her mental words filled with disbelief and confusion echoed loudly. She did her best to avoid looking but she'd catch herself peeking over at the boy every now and then, while they watched the other groups on the screen.

~~~Time Skip, sorry! XD~~~
Inside the field, Uviel was thankful that All Might allowed her to tag along with an already existing 5-person group, making it a six; just to bend the rules a little.
Just for you, I'll bend the rules a tad. I'd hate to bother the other teachers so this is the only other option. As she recalled him giving her a thumbs up after All Might said that, the final group was about to head out and he quickly informed them of her situation. A faint appreciative smile graced her black upper lips, even more so when the group understood.
Now, there the cybergirl stood, gazing upon the vast field of factories, and knew that it wouldn't matter where she'd be. If I use my rocket boots, I could easily outfly the others. Bakugo's explosives make him soar, Kirishima's more about endurance and strength so I don't really know how fast he is. Mezou's strength could send him flying too and I'm pretty sure he can glide if he tried. Tokoyami could easily fly using his shadow, right? Maybe? His shadow could carry him across the sky since it can fly. So, the only real people I'd have to watch out for it Bakugo and Tokoyami. A sigh left her lips with a close of her eyes.
A moment later, after hearing a horn sound off, it signaled for her to start and she did. A click of a button on her boots, like the many times before, made her take to the sky and reach past the tops of the buildings. This shouldn't be too much to handle, I hope. Again, she pondered and soared effortlessly with her hands to her sides.
Five, six minutes, she could already see where All Might stood, and as soon as her eyes locked onto his bulky frame... "OI, GET OUT OF MY WAY, TERMINATOR!" Through gritted, sharp teeth, Bakugo roared to the side and was just a little bit behind her. His eyes watched hers glance back at him for only a second and blink.
"Who you calling Terminator, you piece of explosive dynamite!" Now, this time, she got angry. It was bad enough she had to put up with his outbursts on occasion but to be next to him? She can't be able to stand it. After standing up to him when they were alone near a vending machine, her confidence in doing so spiked that much more.
"YOU WANNA FIGHT?! HUUUH?! I'LL-" At that moment, Saito chose to drown out his comedic, censored, swearing and knew that with even the slightest mistake on her part he'd be in the lead.
Just below her was Tokoyami. It was assumed correctly that he'd use his dark shadow to carry him across the Gamma. However, considering the extra weight he had to carry, they were rather slow about it and it eased her worries when the girl took notice. Damn, he's a lot slower than I thought. A relieved sigh fell from her lips before she swerved to the side, to avoid an incoming vertical tower in her way.
Far behind her, came Mezou gliding through the air and repeating the method each time he'd leap off of a rooftop. I'm in the lead! Cheerful, her smile broadened as she grew closer to All Might and avoided structures that were in her way.
Three, four minutes, was all it took to finally reach the teacher, and the next thing she knew he presented with pride, a band for winning. His large grin never failed as her hand inched closer to it with hesitation. "Congratulations! You won this race!" a moments' pause occurred before he leaned over to her baffled face to whisper. "You did great, those boots are excellent for rescuing!" With a simple pat to her head and a chuckle, he walked away and left an astonished Uviel there to quietly ponder.
I actually won?! That was her last thought until more time passed.
"Sheesh, what a pervert..." Saito's voice mumbled out as she hid in the girls' locker room. Everyone had already left and her blue hues were reading some recent texts from Ochaco and Kirishima.
You were awesome Saito! You beat Bakugo, of all people! Good job! A cheerful, congratulatory text was from Ochaco who sent a thumbs-up emote at the end. A soft smile graced her lips and quickly replied with-
Thanks! I thought he'd beat me for sure, I didn't know my rocket boots were actually that fast! Hatsume's small upgrade must've focused on its speed. When she sent it, the girl sat down on the bench and leaned over, watching three small dots move to indicate a response.
So cool! Your outfit was badass too! Did you come up with that design? Asked the brunette on her phone, which was quickly answered with a no on Saito's end, and from there, their conversation continued. After a while, something came to her mind, something she knew she could only go to another girl for, and gulped.
Ochaco? I...have a question... after her text was sent, a simple question mark was what she received and a confused emote. How- can a person tell, if they're in love or not? How does someone get into a relationship? I...never been in one or in love before. So I don't know what to think right now. Her upper black lips frowned, her thumb hesitant to press send as if quivered just over the button. She did nonetheless, it was only a matter of seconds when Ochaco's reply came in with all caps to express herself.
WHO'S THE LUCKY PERSON?! I MUST KNOW NOW! A moment later the brunette sent another one but this time it seemed a bit calmer. I won't be able to tell you if you don't! Uviel's eyes lit up with surprise and quickly, out of sheer embarrassment, her fingers raced across her screen to answer.
N- Never mind, sorry! I must be out of my mind. After that, the messaging window switched over to Kirishima's recent texts and her head leaned back to calm herself down.
Her cheeks burned, not once in her life has she needed to ask someone for advice unless it was from her best friend. Her beating heart wouldn't calm down, regardless of that she still managed to peek at his texts and read them.
Uviel, you looked so awesome! I'm sorry bout Mineta, he can be horrible sometimes. It was wrong of him to mention your soft skin being tempting to touch. Not that I mind it- wait, no! I didn't mean that! I mean- You're super pretty and you have a beautiful voice! Wait- shit! No! Her awestruck blue hues couldn't break from his compliments that he kept messing up, on. He was too honest and it made heat rise even more on her face. She noticed how his other text below had been sent five minutes after the first one, which only seemed to have brightened her cheeks that much more.
I am a man and a man should be honest! So, I'll say this- You're very pretty inside and out! Don't believe people who say otherwise! Very encouraging, Uviel's quick reply, was only a cute gif of a chibi that kept nodding and hiding under a pillow. After that- her knees were brought up to her face so her arms could hug them tightly, she couldn't believe he said that and it made her feel so confused.
Beautiful voice? He heard me sing?! Does that mean he heard me say his name when I talked to myself?! What should I do?! The cybergirl curled further into herself and buried her red cheeks in her arms, only her blue eyes peeked above them.
