BNHA: Dual Fates

Chapter 40: An ominous Snake.

The next day, Uviel sat in her chair during class and kept her red cheeks hidden behind a textbook. It all happened so fast, leaving Wani there, getting picked up by Kirishima in his strong arms, being taken back to U.A after the whole situation calmed down, and being watched like a hawk by all of the passing teachers she'd come across this morning.

The poor girl, everyone just felt sorry for her during that time when she was brought back to the artificial city, and Recovery girl explained everything she knew about the brute Crock and his protectiveness for children; it was shocking, to say the least.

Kage was still activated, for he floated just outside of the school's doors and waited for her to come back out. Though it was rather awkward, Principal Nezu had been staying at her house for a while now and hadn't even bothered her once. On occasion, she'd catch him dozing off or reading something, but he would always be somewhere in her house.

The author of this story was lazy, so she made it clear that Uviel ignored him the whole time and didn't feel it was important to write the Principal out every time Saito went home.

Uviel didn't know what happened to Wani after she was taken away by her crush, however, that didn't stop her from recalling that moment over and over again. Eijiro's arms around her small frame, she couldn't help but continue hiding.

The cybergirl wasn't even aware of the darker redhead grinning like an idiot and glancing over at her on occasion. "Everyone, I'm looking forward to... Hearing your stories... About training camp..." Mina whined and began to sob, as did everyone else. As soon as she started up, even Eijiro joined in and started to sulk.

"W- We don't know for sure yet! There might be a last-minute twist!" Midoriya tried to reassure but upon feeling a hand lay on his shoulder, he heard Sero's words.

"Stop, Midoriya. If you say it out loud, it'll probably jinx it," he warned. It went like this for a while now, Saito paid them no mind as they conversed and panicked over the training camp.

Everything had returned to normal since she was brought back yesterday, their worry for her was reassured and now they began to act like their usual selves in class.

Though, with a harsh slam with the door, Saito perked up and saw Mr. Aizawa step in. "Once the bell rings, get in your seats," As soon as he announced that, within an instant, all of the students sat in their seats in complete silence.

"Morning. Unfortunately, there are those who did not pass the final exams. Accordingly, for the training camp in the woods... Everyone's going!" Suddenly, as cheerful as he could make it sound, Aizawa's smile beamed as bright as the sun. Which, in Saito's case, was a little unsettling. For astonishment widened her eyes and her mouth gaped, at a loss for words would be an understatement.

Everyone began to scream with joy, delighted that they somehow passed and were going to the camp. Kirishima and Mina both questioned the teacher and received a simple 'yeah' in return. "Some failed, but no one failed the written exam. In the practical, Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, Sato, and Sero failed," Upon his statement, Aizawa watched Sero face-palm and mumble something he couldn't hear. "For this time's exam, we on the villain side made sure to leave a way for the students to win while watching to see how you all would take on the task at hand. If we hadn't, most of you would've gotten stuck before you started," he explained until he heard Ojiro mention the part about when they were out to crush them, the teacher continued.

"That was to make you feel cornered. In the first place, the training camp in the woods is one to increase strength. So those who failed need it the most. They have to get stronger," a moments' pause ensued, and not much longer did his beaming grin return. "It was a rational falsehood.~" As soon as that was mentioned, everyone ranted about how they tricked them and complained.

"I- I was tricked? We, were tricked? Wait, does that mean that Kamihara... Naah, he never said he was out to crush Hatsume and me. He just jumped into action, like...a villain... A pro villain; a stealthy... Pro villain," The more Uviel mumbled to herself about Edgeshot, the more her eyes widened at the recognition. Not too much longer did her forehead smack against the surface of her desk, with a silent groan.

"However, since you lied to us twice, our faith in you will waver!" Iida, who rose his hand, felt it urgent to point out that fact and gained everyone's attention; Ochaco gave him a light giggle after she commented on his reaction.

"That's true. I'll consider that, but I wasn't lying about everything. Failure is failure... We have prepared a separate time for extra lessons for you all. Frankly, it'll be tougher than the extra lessons you'd get if you stayed at school," explained the dark man clad in black, though when he saw Saito's hand raise, his brow curiously lifted. "What is it?" a simple nudge of his head in her direction indicated for her to speak.

"Erm... Any news about your plan from yesterday? I- I mean... When Hatsume disconnected me... From that hacker," The lighter redhead didn't much like how her fight was almost ruined by the strange hacker and figured she'd ask for updates.

"Yes, well... I can't discuss this with you. If the hacker is paying attention to our conversations now, considering the fact that you shut down at any mention of him anymore, it wouldn't be wise to reveal our reasons to the enemy. You'll just have to trust us teachers and hope that everything goes well," with that said, gloom befell the girl's face and defeat made itself known. For she slumped into her chair and lowered her head at the news.

After time passed, it was already sunset and time for everyone to leave, but, Saito remained in her seat contemplating on what to bring with her to go to the camp. Even though what Aizawa said, bothered her, plans still had to be made for the camping trip.

The girl couldn't help but overhear the conversations from the other students, her blue hues perked up over the game device that she paused for a moment and watched. Shopping together? I've only ever shopped with Haru a long time ago. I rarely go out for that sort of thing unless it's for a new game or, bits of groceries. Damn, speaking of groceries, I need to restock... her thoughts echoed and kept her attention on the outgoing invisible girl; it was annoying to her, to have to keep up with her food stock at home.

Denki thought it was a great idea, as did the others, but when she peeked over at Eijiro it was hard not to hear him state that Bakugo was tagging along. All Kiri received was a rude refusal from the dirty-blonde, as he trekked away from the darker redhead.

Though when his red eyes met hers, his beaming smile broadened and his cheeks burned like hellfire. Fear was something that didn't hold him back much, but it sure did cause UV-Ray to shrink and hide her heated face. "You too! Uviel, you're coming with us too!" his cheerful and energetic vibe only made puffs of steam leave the girl's ears. I can't wait to make her smile more! I need to keep her mind off of Yukimura and I think it's working! his monologue, full of excitement, echoed. That was until the memory of their faces being so close and when he carried her yesterday came to mind, he felt the entirety of his skin burn.

"O- Okay..." a cute, small smile graced her lips, for she loved the idea of hanging around Kirishima and absorbing all of his manliness with her eyes.

~~~Time skip~~~
Thirty minutes later, they were all at the mall and Uviel wore her red tank top, her black and red cybernetic-designed, spats pants. Her school shoes were replaced with red sandals and the bag over her shoulder carried her wallet. However, she was sitting cross-legged on top of Kage who followed behind the group and remained silent.
"And so, here we are! With the most stores in the prefecture, the newest and coolest, most advanced- Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall!" Mina cheered with a pink fist pumped. Everyone around her gawked or gasped at the sheer size of the place and excitement filled the air.
Closer, Saito inched toward Kirishima and poked the ends of her fingers together nervously. A thought that came to mind made her face burn but she had to try, for this occasion was rare, and finding another chance like this again would be very slim. "E- Eijiro..." quietly spoken, as shy as could be, her words mumbled near his side, and didn't even notice how the boy tensed up upon hearing her small voice. "D- Do you... Want to... W- Walk toge-" as soon as she was about to finish, a voice hollered out nearby and made all heads look over. It bummed her out that she was interrupted, but when she heard the guy nearby announce that they were from the sport's festival... She nearly fell off of Kage and face-planted if it wasn't for her pet catching her in time.
"Oh, aren't those U.A students?!" One guy exclaimed, who was followed up by his friend that pointed out that they were first-years.
"I saw them on T.V!" His second friend shouted with excitement lighting up his eyes. The next thing they knew, all three of them cheered out, Sports festival, yay! in unison.
Saito did her best to hide her face, shrinking down from embarrassment and the attention the 1-A students were getting. Why?! Why did they announce use like that?! Damn it, people! Grumbling and groaning, her upper-black lips curled into a frown from her thoughts. She had no idea that one of the three guys pointed at her and gushed over her adorable shyness, her poor attempt at hiding; it was hard to ignore Uraraka's comment about them remembering that event.
After everyone exclaimed what they needed to buy, it was Uviel's turn to speak up. "I want to look around too... To see if there's anything I might need for the camp," next to Kirishima, she mumbled and her words made the darker redhead pull of his radiating grin that she loved so much. So, with a simple nod from the boy, he turned to everyone else.
"Everyone has different things they want to do, so why don't we decide on a time to meet back up?" even though in his head he had a very friendly front- his mind kept spinning around about the idea of spending time with Uviel and his inner self gushed over it. Now's my chance! his thoughts, full of eagerness, echoed. On the inside, he was pumping a fist and cheering with tinted red cheeks; however, his outside only showed the excitement for the shopping event. After they all agreed and approved of three o'clock being their deadline, they went their separate ways.
As quickly as possible, after they ran to their own destinations, Eijiro's rough hand had pulled Saito off of Kage and yanked her behind him with the most beaming smile ever. "E- Eijiro?!" Around the corner, they sprinted, racing up staircases along the sides and being followed by an obedient pet robot that all the citizens gawked at.
Once they stopped at a spot that looked over everyone in the giant mall, she could see all of the citizens wander and a few of her classmates in the distance. "Wow, this is incredible!" Her eyes lit up with awe, amazed at the great view.
"It is, right?! It's a beautiful view!" His arms outstretched with balled fists after he cheered and closed his eyes to enjoy the soft breeze that blew by. When he peeked down at her small frame, he could feel his own cheeks burn and his grin broaden. "A beautiful view...~" this time, he mumbled, and hoped she didn't hear but what surprised him the most was when a gasp left the girl's lips.
He watched her face turn red, despite not looking at him and keeping her hues glued to the view, she had a feeling that he was talking about her. H- He- Did he just- her mind was a storm of questions at that moment and very slowly did her eyes look up to meet his.
The second their gazes connected, her head averted to the side as quickly as possible to try and hide the sheer crimson that tainted her face. His grin never fell, the awestruck look in his eyes remained, and not once did he turn away this time to hide his own blush.
"Y- Yeah it's a-an amazing... View," Hesitant, Uviel stumbled over her own words and tried her best to continue with their conversation. Suddenly, warmth enveloped her hand that dangled to her side. She thought her red cheeks burning like hellfire, was noticeable... Until it stung as if fire grazed them when she looked down to see his hand around hers; her blue hues locked onto serious ones that were once full of awe. "K- Kirishima... I-" Before the cybergirl could even finish, his words overran hers by the call of her name.
"Uviel," silence befell between the two for only a moment, then continued with a foot making him inch closer. "I have to ask you something... It's important, so don't lie to me okay?" After he asked, he watched her head nod shyly and he could've sworn he could hear his own rapid heartbeats. "Do you lik-" Ruined! In that second, screams filled the air and caused the two to snap their attention to the pleas of help.
It was close by, citizens screamed and one of them limped away in fear of... "HARU?!" Saito yelled out in bewilderment. There, among the fear-struck people came the Horned Viper dressed in her supposed hero costume. The mask covering her eyes, that famous, ominous, and creepy grin that would send chills down anyone's spine, and the eerie aura she had.
Something wasn't right about her... The screaming citizens, the dagger in her hand dripping with venom was enough proof that they had to take her seriously. "HARUUU!" Quickly, the cybergirl ran, relieved to see her best friend at all, even if it is during a severe moment.
"Uviel, stay back!" Kirishima rushed to her backside and pulled her back with his strong arms, for he knew that the snake girl wasn't going to listen to her best friend's cries.
Down from the top of the mall, three anonymous and low-ranked heroes landed and surrounded Yukimura with caution in their eyes. Two men and one woman, dressed in their hero costumes, prepared their quirks for battle.
Both UV-Ray and Kiri watched with astonishment as they did so, unaware of a pair of black eyes in the shadows on a support beam in the ceiling, that intently stared at the back of their heads.
"Stay where you are, girl!" One of the male heroes, dressed in baby blue and controlling water from the air to form sharp, spinning discs- demanded harshly.
"Dude- she's blind, look! The mask covering her eyes, how is she even able to see?" The second man clad in orange and formed transparent twin pistols with his quirk, questioned.
"Blind or not, she killed eight citizens effortlessly and watched them die. It's hard to believe we've been chasing her like this... Why is she not attacking us, instead?" The woman, who wore a green cloak and made blossoms poke out from underneath, questioned with concern.
"I don't know, but her grin creeps me out..." The water man spoke up this time and made sure, while they surrounded the girl, that the other citizens ran away safely and unharmed.
Kill, kill... Kill them! They're stalling... Save Uviel! Kill them all! Attack her! Those whispers that she tried to ignore long ago, now surfaced as her own thoughts and made her tan fingers clench tightly around the hilt of her dagger.
Miss Muni, told me to sate my hunger, that I have to kill some heroes as a test. Some heroes that have been looking for me and that are only in it for the money, whether than to save lives. Heroes, that Stain once claimed as fakes. Fakes, that are only in it for themselves... Fakes, that shouldn't even have the role of a hero. This is my test, but... Haru's thoughts echoed and trailed off, after picking up a whiff of her father's scent. Dad... her last thought, full of concern and sadness, echoed.
