BNHA: Dual Fates:
Chapter 41: A Dark change?
"Haru, what are you doing?! Damn it, snap out of it!" Uviel's screams echoed throughout the area as she watched in horror, the sight of her best friend being surrounded by heroes and treated like a villain.
She fought against Eijiro's grip the best she could, but his quirk made it difficult to do so. "Uviel, she's not going to listen! Look- you don't even have your weapon, how would you even defend yourself?!" The darker redhead's once astonished expression turned serious and moved his red eyes down at her frantic frame.
(Play: Corner by Blue Stahli! It's one of Haru's themes! :D)
"K- Kage, I have Kage and you by my side. She-" the cybergirl's words came to a halt, at the sight of her friend vanishing within seconds and causing a stir among the three anonymous heroes.
"Where did she go?!" All three heads looked around them, fear-struck hearts full of caution.
In the shadows to the far side of them, crouched Har-Har with her dagger lifted up and the unfaltering grin on her lips. Very slowly, her head tilted and creepy whispers made the heroes whip their eyes over where she sat. "Hehehe, yes. I'm blind, so it should be easy for you to defeat me.~ Come on, come closer..." Teasing, mocking, she was and effortlessly evaded an aqua disc from the water hero, that was sent her way.
Close to the ground and across the small distance, she was so fast that no one could keep their eyes on her. Blossoms from the female hero spat out razor petals as though they were bullets and sliced through thick concrete rubble that fell from the blue hero's strike.
Panic widened their eyes upon watching the water guy's legs get sliced within seconds and heard a blood-curdling scream fill their ears. "AAAAH!" The man was in agony as he fell onto his bum and into a pool of his own gore.
Quickly, while she was still close to the ground, she turned to the side and flipped her dagger. Down came the blade right between his eyes and knocking his head against the hard floor. Crouched on one knee, she remained and kept her attention on the other two who jumped away to gain some distance. You want to see them die... Kill... Those toxic whispers in her mind echoed as she kept her head forward and her senses sharp.
Gradually she rose and jerked the dagger from the fresh corpse. Nothing but pure amusement kept her lips curled into that wicked grin, for she knew exactly where they were and how idiotic they are for assuming she couldn't see.
"Come on.~ You have an advantage, I'm blind... Remember?" From side to side, she performed her mocking dance with her swaying body and would bend her knees on occasion. The tail of her yellow trench coat would shift with her movements and look like a snake behind her.
"V-Garden, we need to subdue her. Prepare a trap, I'll keep her busy..." The hero, in orange, who wielded his transparent pistols kept his aim at Haru and whispered.
V-Garden, clad in the green cloak, gave him a simple nod and made poisonous vines uproot from the hard floor, once she jumped down from one of the ceiling support beams.
Around Horned Viper, she sprinted and made her flowers grow buds along all of the vines. All Haru did was stand there, grinning like a madwoman from the entertainment. Uviel and Eijiro were soon accompanied by a couple of their classmates. From behind them came Uraraka and Izuku until they too halted to their side at the horrific sight.
"Yukimura?" In unison, their voices full of bewilderment- spoke and gawked at the gory display. No one knew of Shigaraki who lurked in the shadows, for his red eyes watched in fascination as if he was watching a professional killer at work.
Tomura was on his way back to his hideout when he heard screams of agony, from the one hero and raced up the steps to witness her behavior; he just finished some business with Midoriya moments ago. A blush tinted his pale and dry cheeks, as the girl waited for the orange hero to make his move.
Yes- Haru knew exactly where they were. It didn't matter how far away they were, as long as her nose picked their up scents- they were dead.
As soon as those flowers bloomed, vines shot after Haru and wrapped her up almost like a mummy. Transparent bullets sprayed her available limbs in hopes of hitting her hand that held the dagger, however...
When the orange hero hopped down to get closer, what they didn't know, was that a digital percentage on her blade blinked red and a faint vibration traveled through its hilt; it was what she waited for... Once they were close and her head slowly rose, chuckles escaped.
Those see-through bullets acted as if they were hitting something impenetrable and once he looked closer, he noticed her skin thickened into snake hide and screamed out- "V-Garden, move!" he tried to warn her, but it was useless... For the dagger that blinked a digital 2% just above its blade, dispersed a yellow, venomous cloud from the puncture holes in a small radius and caught them in it.
Gagging, gasping for air, they both grabbed at their throats and chests before they keeled over onto the vine-covered floor. The four U.A students were lucky enough to be out of range, lest they die instantaneously by the toxic mist. (End of song!)
The poison in the air even killed the vines that encased her, making them drop like carcasses and shrivel like dried-up plants.
"Uviel, get to safety!" Urgency and his will to protect the girl he cares for, made him push her to his backside and activate his hardening quirk. Both Ochaco and Izuku prepared themselves alongside him when they saw Yukimura fully face them.
My dad... He's going to kill her. I have to do something. Her thoughts echoed as her heart yearned to keep her best friend safe. Not once did her eerie grin falter, for her slow steps inched closer to the group of four and began to let her giggles slip.
The dagger in her hand was soon placed into its sheathe, which resided against her lower back and behind her coat; however, something stopped her. A sensation in her legs, tingly like needles poking at her skin, she groaned and bent over. "W- What?" Her fingers grasped at her legs after confusion laced her words.
On the floor, she fell, face first with her hands on either side of her chest and palms pressed against the surface. It felt strange, for her groans of displeasure were enough to show that something was happening.
The students stared in shock, but what made them gasp in unison was when they watched Haru's legs morph into a thick, long tail from a snake; her quirk further developed...
Thick hide, not only on her lower snake half but now her skin had raw scales. Shining its beautiful brown color from the sun, that beamed through the glass ceiling. Her pants had torn and very slowly she lifted herself up with the strength of her lower snake half. The sound of a rattle resonated through the air when the end of her tail shook and stood up behind her, it truly surprised the brunette.
Those tan fingers trailed down to where her legs would be and the rough feel of snake hide filled her sense of touch, with the cloth of her torn pants dangling around her hips. The girl was much taller now, close to nine feet she towered over the group of four, and soon enough that amused, creepy grin of hers returned.
As swift as a snake, though compared to her human form, she lacked a lot of her speed, nonetheless she raced after them all and swerved her body to swing her lower half. Midoriya knew Kirishima would keep Uviel safe, for he picked Ochaco up and bolted over the railing of the high floor to escape.
"Watch out!" With his quirk, Eijiro kept her behind him and shielded himself with his hardened arms. Although he was toughened, the sheer force of Har-Har's tail was enough to send both of them crashing over the railing and into the air.
"AAAH!" Uviel was caught off guard, too much in shock by Haru's transformation to even move before her tail hit. So she cried out in fear as they fell, unaware of Kage who flew after her form to catch up to her.
It was as though slow motion took place, for Kirishima watched the cybergirl's eyes light up with shock. It was enough to push him into action, he cared so much for her, despite Uviel being a cybrorg and the fall damage would be minimal to her... He felt it wouldn't be very manly for him to let her take even a minuscule scratch. So, with his hardened arms and panic in his eyes, he yanked her against him.
Once time sped up, a hard land made them both roll and bounce across the mall's shiny floor. A few grunts from the boy were the only thing that filled the air at that moment, but he made sure to keep the back of her head protected with his hand.
It took them a few seconds to peek at each other, for they laid on their sides and stared into each others' eyes. So close, their noses touched and their faces lit up to a bright red color. K- Kirishima! Frantically she spoke in her mind and sat up from his warm arms, with steam leaving her ears.
Though- Eijiro didn't react that way at all, the blush on his face remained but he didn't hide it at all and he too sat up. "Are you okay?" The concern in his voice and his brows knitting together proved how worried he was.
Haru, from high above the many other floors, slithered to one of the railings nearby that survived her attack and roughly griped onto the metal. The harsh contact made a loud clang echo throughout the area, causing the two cute love birds' heads to look in her direction.
Just before she jerked herself over the railing to chase after them, a swift and blinding red stream pierced right through her neck upon a skill announcement. "Ninpo: Thousand Sheet Pierce!" Out from the other side, Edgeshot appeared as a tiny thread and eventually formed into a head. Now that she's unconscious... in his head, he mumbled and moved his gray gaze to the kids on the main floor.
Next to him, landed Wani, who squatted down after doing so and viewed Haru. His yellow slits watched as her form returned to normal and her ripped pants covered her exposed lower half. "Kyoshi, I understand you're wanting to keep her safe, but I'd much prefer if you helped me escort Saito and the other boy out of the mall. Yukimura will be in safe hands soon since Endeavor is coming," explained the ninja, as he vanished then reappeared next to Uviel and Kiri.
"The hell does he think I am? I'm not leaving this spot, not even if it kills me..." Grumbled the Crock, for his care over Haru outweighed the care for his own life and his rage only boiled that much more.
However, when a pair of feet landed in the shadows and a shiny rapier glinted, Wani's head whipped around. Those bumps on his skin appeared as soon as he laid eyes upon Serpentine, activating his quirk would be better than doing it later; for even a second could cost him his and the brunette's life. "AAH-!"The moment he cried out with his ever-growing anger and prepared a fist after he charged for the snake-
Down came glass shards when the ceiling broke and flames shot down at the floor. Kyoshi halted, watched Endeavor land in front of him, and glared daggers over his shoulder. "Get out of my way." the demand in his voice was strong and harsh until he continued. "Shinso, keep Yukimura safe and take her as far away from here as possible! Kyoshi, stay out of this!" Rage filled his voice and bore his blue eyes into Wani's.
The Crock turned sideways to look behind him and saw the violet-haired boy sprint to Haru, picking her up like a princess. "Alright," simple, calm, was his answer and a nod from his head was given to the flaming hero.
As fast as his feet could run, the boy headed for the staircase, and surprisingly, Wani followed to make sure nothing was going to happen to either of them. As much as he hated it, despite the grudge that weighed heavily on his heart over that gray snake, the safety of Haru and another kid made him trail after them. Damn it all! Swore the reptile as his teeth ground together to try and prevent the growl from escaping.
In the shadows, where Shigaraki stood, he quickly jogged away from the snake as he kept his attention on the hero in front of him. For he didn't want to be found and continued his way down the stairs. It was about time to head back to his hideout now since he had a marvelous view of Haru's quirk developing and watched her behavior.
Thoughts of the girl's beaming smile, the warmth that she radiated, fearlessness, and the inner villain inside, made heat rise to his cheeks more. She's... unique. A grin formed, from recalling his conversation with Izuku and the moments just now with Haru, it made his lips curl tighter into that creepy smile. Positive but murderous, outgoing, and deadly. I can't seem to shake this feeling I get when I see her like that. What is it? In his mind, he pondered, curious as to why he feels that way toward the girl when he's supposed to hate everyone that's like her. Always smiling, acting as if nothing is wrong, but no... He knew that Haru wore a mask to hide what she truly felt, to hide her dark side and keep a positive vibe.
I guess... That's one of the reasons why I find myself staring at her on occasion, or at all. There's something about her that drives me crazy...and I don't like it. Once again, his thoughts echoed and his grin fell. Annoyance would be an understatement at this point, for he thought the feeling he felt was rather irritating.
"What's going on?!" Sero exclaimed with fear as he watched all of the citizens scream and flee the mall.
"I think Yukimura attacked and some heroes showed up!" Mineta, who looked down-right afraid, ran to his friend and carried a bag full of miscellaneous items. It was three o'clock and everyone started to meet up at the specific spot.
"Guys!" Ochacho, and Midoriya who carried the overly embarrassed girl, caught up to the other two and the boy tried to gain their attention. "We need to evacuate all of the citizens! Endeavor and Edgeshot are here!" Aside from the heavily steaming up brunette in his arms, his stern eyes were believable.
As he watched them nod their heads, then wait for everyone else to meet up, he explained the same thing to them after putting Uraraka down.
Soon, the pro ninja himself came sprinting with Kirishima and Saito in front of him. It was obvious he was trying to make sure nothing was going to happen to them on their way out. Once they saw the three, they gasped at the sight of the ninja who kept their backsides safe.
Edgeshot?! In unison, full of astonishment, they mentally exclaimed.
"We need to get everyone out of here, now!" Kirishima's urgent words made all of the 1-A students nod in agreement and sprint after the frantic citizens who weren't heading towards the exit.
It was Uviel's turn now, she and the darker redhead both raced toward the exit in hopes of making sure they got out safely. Kamihara chose to use his Fishhook skill, from his quirk, to snatch a few citizens and drag them to the exit as he followed the two ahead of him.
Saito, you've changed a lot since you were my internship. You've grown much braver, it seems my lessons had improved you a bit. A soft smile graced his masked lips and his gray eyes remained on her backside. It was a little strange, for he felt an odd stir in his chest that many would claim to be a father's pride. It was small but he didn't ignore it, either. She's an orphan, right? Then maybe... before he finished his monologue, he quickly sat the citizens he captured, down in front of the exit and watched them sprint for their lives.
Now that he was outside, he turned to see Uviel gesture for citizens with a wave of her hand to leave and Kirishima kept yelling to get their attention. He kept gazing upon her tiny frame in thought, pondering on her lonely life and how hard it must be to live by herself. To his side, a fist tightened and his heart ached from her situation. There are situations, where being a hero doesn't even require fighting or rescuing. Maybe... he trailed off in his mind and nodded to himself.
"Saito, there is something I must inform you of later, regarding who watches over you while you're not in school," upon his smooth and calm words, the cybergirl's eyes met his which were full of confusion.
" O- Okay!" Hesitant at first, she acknowledged with a nod and returned her attention to the citizens that left through the doors. I wonder what it is. Is it a schedule or something? Times of day that heroes have to watch over me? As she ushered for everyone to leave with her hand, those thoughts swarmed her mind like a hive full of bees.
