Thanks for the amazing response to this story. It's a lot of fun. I'm glad everyone is enjoying the twists and turns. Season 1 can be very fun to play with. Enjoy this latest and keep reviewing! Here are individual responses to reviews:
Ghostwriter: Yep, he's sort of a werewolf with a few added things. Yeah, Whale trying to behave should be interesting. Glad you're enjoying it!
Jennifer Baratta: Yep, trouble is definitely here. Glad you're enjoying!
Sexystarwarslover: Yeah, I would say that Malachi is in for a huge surprise with Snow when he discovers she can't be swayed by another man, even ones with smelly pheromones, lol. No, Graham didn't deserve what happened to him. Yep, Snowing would go to war if she poisoned Emma. With them awake, she knows that's a bad move. Yeah, Narcissa and her cohorts are big trouble for sure. Yeah, I can't wait for Sarah to remember she has sisters. Yep, Whale has to behave. That should go well and it's about time Ratched got put in her place. Yep, it wasn't Snow's fault with the whole Whale thing and David knows, but still hates him. Yep, Snowing date night! Yep, the Wolf's Den sounds way creepier than the Rabbit Hole. Yep, Malachi needs to stay away from Snow. Glad you're enjoying!
Number Ten: Yep, Malachi is a predator, but I think Snow is going to surprise him. Yeah, Regina is realizing that Narcissa is a way bigger threat than her son's grandparents. Yeah, I hope Snowing catches on before she double crosses them too. Yeah, it was time Ratched and Whale got put in their places. Yeah, Ratched was an interesting choice for Once. Glad you're enjoying.
Grace5231973: I know, they are very creepy. Yeah, she probably won't be happy, but Regina also has bigger fish to fry. Glad you're enjoying!
AnonSnowing: I'm glad Regina sees Narcissa as the bigger threat too. Yes, it seems we will have a temporary truce, even if it is a shaky one. Yep, Merryweather is worlds better as a fairy Godmother than Blue could ever be. Yeah, I think it's cause he's the only doctor in town. Yep, David is going to investigate and Snowing dates are amazing no matter where, I agree. Yep, Malachi is very interesting. Glad you're enjoying it!

Chapter 41: The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend, Pt 1
"Mmm…that's really good," he mentioned, as he took a sip of her drink.
"Better than your beer?" she asked.
"Yeah actually…this is really strong. They are definitely not watering down the booze in this place," he mentioned, as she tried his drink.
"Oh wow…that horrid," she said.
"Yeah…I think I'm going to get something else," he replied. She smiled at him, as he went to the bar to order something else from the older gentleman and she checked her phone. She smiled, as she saw a text from Emma and was thrilled to see that it was a picture of her, Henry, and Neal after a day at the arcade. She put a hand to her heart and was eager to show David when he returned. Suddenly though, she smelled something odd and it got really bad. It wasn't like anything she had ever smelled before and it was foul. She turned and saw the younger bartender there, realizing quickly that it was him with the stench. He put another drink down in front of her and attempted a smoldering gaze, but she had to put her hand over her nose.
"A refill…on the house," he said.
"Um…thank you, but why?" she asked. He smirked, as usually this was the part where his target would become putty in his hand.
"Can't a guy buy a drink for a beautiful woman?" he asked.
"I suppose…but it's not the polite thing to do when the woman is spoken for," Snow replied, trying to be polite. He smirked.
"Are you? Because I think somehow you and I would be much better together," he replied, as he grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it. His lips lingered there, as his eyes met hers. She pulled her hand away and became uneasy about his forwardness.
"Strongly disagree…I'm with someone, who I love very much," she said. He was perplexed by this, for by all intents and purposes, she should have been all over him by now. But not only did she seem uninterested, she appeared to be repulsed by him.
"Maybe you should think again," he said, as he increased the release of his pheromones and Snow felt bile in her throat. She got up and scurried away from him, which further confused and infuriated him.
"You…you aren't affected by me at all…" he realized.
"I told you…I'm with someone and I don't mean to be rude, but you smell horrible," she said.
"My apologies…" he hissed, as he went back behind the bar and she relaxed a little, as David returned and put his arm around her.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"I think so…" she replied, as he looked at the bartender.
"Did he make a pass at you?" he asked.
"As a matter of fact, he did…and he has a stench that I won't soon forget," she replied.
"Really? You'd think he'd shower," David mentioned.
"Except it wasn't like that…I'm not sure how to describe it other than repulsive. But not body odor," she replied.
"Okay…sounds like he needs a punch in the face," David said, but she stalled him.
"No…I think he got the message when I told him he smelled. Let's just go back to our table and finish our drink. Before this, we were thoroughly absorbed in each other, if I remember," she said, as she led him back to their table.
"We were…" he said, as he kissed her tenderly.
"Well…that did not go your way," Lucian mentioned.
"She was…immune to my pheromones," he hissed.
"That has not happened…well, since it happened with you, before that shape-shifting sorceress cursed you for it," he said.
"You need not remind me," Malachi growled. He was humiliated and the rejection stung quite deeply. He had never been rejected before, let alone had a woman express thorough repulsion at his presence.
"I am starting to see why it is this true love that the Dark One chose to utilize for his purposes," Lucian said.
"This is all quite fascinating…" he added.
"I'm so glad my misfortune intrigues you," he said in frustration. Malachi smirked.
"Her blood still calls you…" Lucian said.
"Like none before…but it doesn't matter," Malachi replied.
"Oh it does…you shouldn't deny yourself what you want. It's been a long time since you have hunted a challenging target," Lucian said.
"We don't need the Sheriff to be even more suspicious of us," Malachi growled back.
"Don't worry…if the Sheriff gets in our way, we will deal with him," Lucian said.
"Regardless though…nothing can stop what we have in store," he added.
"So…that's why I decided we should check this place out," David said.
"And you're sure Leroy said our kind?" Snow asked. He nodded and took another sip of his drink.
"That's what gave me pause…I mean, we ran into a few places back in the Enchanted Forest that wouldn't serve dwarves and that's what convinced me I needed to come see this place," David replied.
"So…they're outsiders and if they are connected to my self absorbed Aunt, that would explain how they know that Leroy isn't exactly human or wasn't. I'm still confused about whether the curse made them human now," Snow said. He nodded.
"They do look more human now," he agreed.
"Still…it's risky to do even if they do know in a cursed town that doesn't remember their former lives," she added.
"It is…and you mentioned he smelled really bad, but not body odor and then there's the old guy," David said.
"Anything odd about him that you can tell?" Snow asked.
"No…except I can tell he knows everything. It's like he was looking right through me…not unlike Gold does in a way," David replied.
"I almost hate the subterfuge though…sometimes I wish everyone would just lay their cards on the table," he added. She smiled and kissed his cheek.
"You are a very direct to the point kind of guy, which I love…even if it's not so good on the diplomacy end," she teased. He smirked.
"You can take care of the diplomacy…I'd prefer to do the fighting or policing in this case," he said, as he caressed her cheek.
"We do make a very good, well balanced team," she agreed, as she nuzzled her nose against his.
"Yes, we do…and I don't think there's anything else we can do here tonight. Let's go home," he said, as he put some money down on the table.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea," she said, but they were interrupted when Regina came into the bar.
"You two aren't going anywhere," she said…
Greg Mendell crept cautiously into the police station and found the filing cabinet in the Sheriff's office. He opened it and started rifling through the files, while holding his flashlight in his teeth.
"Dammit…" he cursed, as he dropped the flashlight and it clattered to the floor. He listened for a moment to make sure he was still alone and went back to looking. He found that the recent records were haphazardly kept and he saw the unplugged scanner nearby. It seemed that they were in the process of digitizing things and he almost wondered how he was going to find anything in this mess…until he opened the bottom drawer. It was a neatly organized file labeled 1983. It made no sense why there was one file from 1983 and then almost nothing until 2011, but he didn't care and decided that no one would miss the file from 1983. He took it out and concealed it in his coat, before making his way out in the darkness.
"Excuse me?" David challenged, as he stared her down and Regina rolled her eyes.
"Trust me…you're going to want to hear what I have to say," she said, as she sat down at their table.
"Won't you join us," David said sarcastically.
"Look…you hate me and I hate you, but we have a common enemy," Regina replied.
"First of all, you're the one with the vitriol toward us. I've always wanted there to be peace between us," Snow corrected.
"She's right…no one gave you more chances than she did and if you're talking about Narcissa…we know," David said.
"So you knew about this Aunt? I married your father…how come she never popped up?" Regina asked.
"I didn't know nor have I ever met her until recently. Someone has clued us in," David replied.
"Let me guess…Gold?" she asked.
"Actually no…it's someone else and we're not telling you who," Snow answered. Regina rolled her eyes.
"Great…another person that's awake," she complained.
"So you're here I take it, because Narcissa is a threat to you," David said bluntly.
"And you…she hates your wife, which is something we have in common. But even I know that Narcissa is a bigger threat," Regina replied. David shook his head.
"You are unbelievable! If you thought for a second that Narcissa would help you destroy us without it costing you everything, you'd do it in a heartbeat," he spat. She smirked.
"You're damn right I would…but unfortunately, she's intent on destroying me too so we have a common interest in stopping her," Regina said.
"We can stop her without your help," David retorted. Regina smirked.
"Maybe…but I can do something that I know you both want more than anything," she said.
"And what's that?" Snow asked.
"I can get the charges against Emma dropped," Regina replied. Snow and David paused and exchanged a glance. David thought for a moment and squeezed Snow's hand to keep her from revealing their hand too soon.
"Maybe we don't need you to. I'm getting close to proving that it was Narcissa that killed Tamara," he said. Regina frowned.
"You know that Narcissa did it?" she asked. He smirked.
"I had my suspicions…but now I do, thanks to you," he replied smugly. She opened her mouth in outrage and wished she could choke him with magic at that moment.
"You thinking I'm an idiot leads you to vastly underestimate me, even though I've picked up this cop thing pretty fast," David replied.
"You still can't prove it though…and I can hand you the evidence," Regina countered.
"Maybe…but we know the moment we stop Narcissa and she's no longer a threat that you'll stab us in the back," Snow said. Regina smirked.
"But neither of you care if it means freeing your precious daughter," she said. They were silent for a moment.
"So a truce…until we destroy Narcissa and her cohorts," Snow said.
"Cohorts?" Regina asked.
"This place…we have reason to believe that those two," David said, nodding toward the bar.
"Are working with her," he added.
"Do you know who they are?" she asked.
"Not yet…but we have someone on our side that is almost as knowledgeable as Gold on things from our land," David replied.
"That brings up something else though…I don't think Gold will agree to a truce with you," Snow told her. David smirked.
"She's right…he'll never go for it," he said. Regina pursed her lips.
"He will if I give back…something I took from him," she revealed.
"What did you take?" Snow asked.
"Something very precious that he loves…and his first reaction will be to kill me, so I need your assurance that you won't let that happen," Regina replied. David chuckled.
"Then you better hope he never gets his magic back. As Sheriff, I can make sure he doesn't kill you, but all bets are off if he gets some magic," he warned.
"There's no magic here…and after he has this back, you can convince him that we all need to work as a team to get rid of these interlopers in my town," Regina said.
"Our town," David corrected.
"Fine…but I'm sure I don't need to remind you that I'm the devil you know and you don't want Narcissa as Mayor anymore than I do," she said.
"She's right," Snow agreed.
"Fine…I'll call Emma and Gold. We'll meet at his shop in an hour," David replied, as he led Snow out of the bar by the hand. Regina followed a few minutes later and parted ways with them to go home and check on Henry.
