I don't own digimon.

Story 13

Blossoming to their full potential

Rosemon looked about the gardens. If she didn't know any better, she probably would've thought that she was in some kind of store. But no, that was far from the case. But no, this was the result of many humans and possibly digimon putting their hands and other similar appendages to their full potential. Which made the number of roses here on offer all the more impressive. She had heard stories of a mythical city of roses, but those were most definitely tall tales spread by digimon who wanted to be tricksters. No, she was very clearly in France. What particular part of France, the mega wasn't sure. The one in charge of the portal hadn't been so keen to tell her where exactly she was heading. Which in turn, made it all the more harder to find her partner.

"One would think that they would be close." Rosemon thought, a bunch of gardeners passing her by. Giving a wave, they came to a stop in front of her. "By any chance do you know where I can find a girl?"

The gardeners muttered something to the ground, taking a moment to stare at the massive woman with vines wrapped about her clothes. Even by the standards set by certain digimon (Angewomon and LadyDevimon especially), she was on the low end of the spectrum. Or at least, that was how she thought it was at least. Whether or not that actually was, remained to be seen. Pushing that thought out for now,

"Parles-tu français?" one of the gardeners answered and got a confused look from Rosemon in return. Oh dear. How could she have forgotten? Taking a moment to make sure she had set her voice protocols correctly, the mega cleared her throat.

"Oui, ça fait un moment que je suis dans ce monde. (Yes, just has been a while since I've been on this world.)" Rosemon answered, waiting a moment for the gardeners to respond. Getting a nod from the pair, this was now her best chance to ask her question. "Je cherche une fille. Elle est grande (relativement à moi) et a les cheveux violets. Elle répond à Chloé. L'AS tu vue? (I'm looking for a girl. She's tall (relatively to me) and has purple hair. She answers to Chloe. Have you seen her?)"

The gardener's looked at each other, then back to the very tall mega digimon. A head shake followed. So much for that option. She had hoped that Chloe would've gotten a job doing what she loved, but at the same time wanted something that made it clear that it was her. While not at odds with each other, that still made for quite a challenge.

"Nous ne l'avons pas vue. Il serait peut-être préférable de vérifier ailleurs pour ces raisons. (We have not seen her. Maybe it would be best to check elsewhere on these grounds.)" one of the gardeners answered and Rosemon nodded. Floating up, care was taken to scan the area once more. This really shouldn't be that hard of a task. But in a place like this, that was like looking for a chuumon in a flower patch. Okay, maybe it wasn't that hard. Just felt that way after so long in the digital world. Why did humans need to make it so much of a pain in the butt to just find them. They could at least have some kind of giant beam of light that hones in on the person in question. But no, that would be too much.

"Oh. It's you." a voice called out, Rosemon looking up into the sky. There, a lumosmon was floating in place like this was somehow a normal thing that happens in the human world. When in fact it very much wasn't and just something that only really happens in the digital world. "Haven't had enough of me?"

Rosemon rolled her eyes. Of all the digimon she could've ended up running into, Lumosmon was near the bottom of the list. The last thing she needed was an ex with a penchant for her other career. The one that she wasn't quite ready to tell her. Would Chloe even understand that she liked to have the reins of control over other digimon. Especially digimon partners. Those were always the most fun. Something about getting them to scream their partner's name was quite enjoyable. Wait. That didn't make her a masochist… right? If memory served her right, masochists were the ones who actively seeked out pain. She was someone who dished it out. A big, fundamental difference. One that might be necessary to keep in mind going forward. Especially once she had gotten back to Chloe. The last thing she needed to get caught up in a moment and lash out. Especially at someone's digimon partner.

"What if I hadn't? Already ready to beg for me?" Rosemon countered and got an eye roll from Lumosmon in return. Floating over, the lotus digimon made a face. Wasn't even that good of one. More a cross between an angry face and a frown, it didn't quite get across the emotions that she wanted Rosemon to see. Unless one counted laughter as an emotion. Which was debatable, even in the best of times. "Really? You're already resorting to begging? I thought I had taught you better."

Lotosmon rolled her eyes and clenched her fist. A staff appeared within the lotus digimon's fist, pointed directly at her ex. The nerve of her. How dare her to act like this was over when it very much wasn't. Some form of feelings must have remained in that heart of her… right? Why else would she come back to this place. Unless she was here for that human of hers. But that didn't explain why they both ended up in the same place. Surely the one handling the transporting of digimon back would've made an effort to prevent that. No, that was asking for a tiny bit too much effort from the people running this. No, far easier and supposedly 'funner' just to drop the digimon off and let them fight it out with someone else's partner. Once she got back to Cloe, things would be all good. She just knew it. Sadly, she didn't get a chance to actually make good on her attempted threat. No, a wooden stake of all things brought a swift end to this attempt at revenge. Thankfully, the free fall down was thankfully far shorter than it actually appeared to be. But that could be just chalked up to Rosemon deciding right at the last second to swoop in and grab her like the polite girlfriend she was most definitely destined to be one day. Or just a helpful friend who wasn't completely sure what to really make of this situation currently. Whatever she saw herself as didn't really matter in this case. Landing back on the ground, it's time once more to scan the area. Whoever had thrown that stick their way was around here. She just knew it. Why else would they even go through the trouble in the first place. Would be absolutely weird for that person to book it out of here after throwing a stick at two megas. Yes, Lotosmon was about to fight her, but that didn't change the fact that they threw a stick their way. They could've very easily hurt someone in the process. Someone that wasn't her or Lotosmon and/or very much mortal. That was just a lawsuit waiting to happen. A shame she didn't know any lawyers or digimon that practiced law. Just in case, of course.

"Te voilà. (There you are.)"

Spinning around, Rosemon did a double take. This had to be her. And yet, she didn't understand how the gardeners were unable to help in her search. This woman most definitely stood out with her tank top and jeans. Her height alone was nearly on par with her and Lotosmon, making it even easier to pick her out. Okay, the lack of purple hair was probably what threw them off in the first place. Yeah. That was probably it. Nonetheless, care was taken to make sure that she set Lotosmon upright.

"Alors… Avez-vous enfin réglé vos différends tous les deux et êtes-vous de retour à la parole ou est-ce toujours la même chose que je vous ai quittée? (So… Have you two finally settled your differences and are back on speaking terms or is still the same as how I left you?)" the woman continued, both megas looking away from each other. Guess that answers her question nicely. Or harshly in this case. "Qu'est-ce que je vais faire de vous deux? (What the heck am I going to do with you two?)"

Lotosmon lit up. She definitely had a way to answer this. Maybe even get into the good graces

"Nous aimer et nous adorer, quelle que soit notre incapacité à réparer notre relation et à se fondre ensemble? (Love us and adore us, regardless of our inability to fix our relationship and fuse back together?)" the lotus digimon announced and got an eye roll from her partner. Some things never change. Regardless of whether you want them too or not. But, she cared about them and wanted the best. Even if that didn't seem like the kind of thing either of her digimon partners wanted.

Notes:

Been a while. Work on Vol 1 has been going well, but I wanted a short break. This works more than enough.
