You think Pat has lead an interesting life so far? Wait, its going to get more interesting.
For those who are waiting for David's demise, its coming. Probably by winter. Have a few loose ends that need tying before.
Artemis and Rolland sat across from Pat in a diner, not far from the club. Pat was still quite shaken by her date's behavior. Artemis reached out across the empty table to take Pat's paws in hers, and said, "Pat, you don't have to worry about him anymore. And if he does try to contact you, or your daughter, Rolland will make good on his promise. You haven't met Felicia, Rolland's sensei yet. So, you don't know that she loathes toms who strike she-cats."
"She sounds interesting," Pat simply replied. Her thoughts were currently occupied with something other than her current company.
"Hey, what's wrong? You don't seem like the confident she-cat I was dancing with back at the club?" Artemis asked.
Pat took her paws back from Artemis, and said, "He's going to probably call my agency, and have me fired for not showing him the time he wanted. If that happens, I won't be able to afford my apartment, and be living in my car again with my daughter." She slumped over the table and started to cry over the thoughts.
Artemis left her seat and took the one on Pat's left. She pulled the cheetah into an embrace, and said, "I'm not going to let that happen, Pat. Even if you are let go, I'll find someone who can take you and your daughter in."
Pat lifted her head from Artemis' shoulder and turned to look at Artemis. "I barely know you. Why would you do that?" She asked.
"My father left me alone, when I was fifteen. He had racked up a huge debt with some real bad cats. When they came to collect, he took off faster than you can run and never looked back. Those cats took me as payment and coerced me into doing… Let's just say, I took care of a Pest Problem for them. You and I have similar pasts, Pat and you have a daughter. Those are two reasons I'm more than willing to help you," Artemis answered.
Pat embraced Artemis, and said, "Its been way too long since I had someone I could rely on. Thank you, Artemis," she said.
"You're welcome, Pat," Artemis replied.
"What do you do for your day job, Pat?" Rolland asked.
Pat released the shared embrace with Artemis, and said, "I'm a Fitness Instructor at a gym. I take Abigale, my daughter to school in the morning, teach five classes, then I normally pick her up, and take her home. Once she's settled in, I shower, change, and head out for the evening. The toms I meet are generally business cats from out of town who only want some companionship. While a very small few want Extra Services, like that guy tonight. Although the money is quite tempting, I'm not one of those Escorts who resorts to doing that."
"Good thing you didn't drink or eat anything when you were with him," Rolland said. "He might have spiked your food or drink with something to make you more amicable to sleep with him."
"The agency has a strict policy, not to accept anything from the clients that is not sealed or brought to the table by a server, just for those reasons. We had a few she-cats who were drugged and some never seen again. Trafficking is still a major problem in my line of work," Pat said.
"Speaking of work, you obviously dance real well. Why didn't you dance as a profession?" Artemis asked.
"I wanted to, Artemis. However, I married quite young, and became pregnant with Abigale. My Ex became furious when I suggested he stayed home with our daughter, while I auditioned for roles on stage," Pat answered.
Artemis surmised from her answer that Pat might know Lisa, since they almost traveled in the same circle. "Do you happen to know a Lisa Ericson?" Artemis asked.
Pat's face lit up at hearing Lisa's name, and said, "Before I got married, Lisa and I auditioned for several of the same roles. She was always so nice, and that tom she had on her arm, made all the girls purr, just from looking at him."
Artemis chuckled for a second, then said, "She married him and has two kittens. I work with her at Pirouette's Dance studio."
"Lisa married that walking, talking, massive hunk of muscle?! I have to congratulate her, the next time I see her. They did look good together," Pat said.
Artemis took a sip of her water, then said, "You should see Mark with his kids. He's an awesome father, just like Rolland will be, when we have kittens of our own."
Rolland blushed while Artemis took Pat's paws in hers again, then she asked, "We could use another instructor at the studio, care to audition?"
"It would be wonderful to see Lisa again. However, I need to make sure all my expenses are covered before I make any decisions," Pat stated.
"Pirouette pays her instructors, quite well," Artemis said as she let go of Pat's paws, returned to the other side of the table, and latched herself around Rolland's arm. "Plus, having my own hunk of muscle, training next door is an added bonus. His gi isn't as form-fitting as a pair of tights. But it does wonders for emphasizing is lower half."
He turned to Artemis, kissed her, then asked, "Is that why you made sure you had a break in your class schedule, when I trained with Felicia?"
Artemis let her right paw drift down his arm to his paw, then his thigh, and eventually his backside, as she said, "Can't I admire my future husband's body? I know you admire mine, especially when I wear a leo." She waived her tail, nice and slow to attract Rolland's eyes to her lower half.
Rolland's eyes caught a glimpse of the fluffy appendage, slowly and sensually swaying back and forth. And as Artemis expected, his eyes drifted lower. His body became rigid the longer he stared at his fiancée's very curvy body.
Artemis knew she had him ensnared in her trap, and most likely didn't want to be let go. She grazed his chest with the claws on her left paw, as she said, "What's the matter, Rolland? Do I get you all hot and bothered, just from my simple touch?"
Artemis' seductive actions, broke Rolland's resolve. He drew her into a passionate kiss, which she returned. Then he stood, picked her up bridal style, and said, "Pat, it was nice meeting you. Meet Artemis tomorrow at the studio, where she will introduce you to Pirouette. Good night." He ran towards the cashier, dropped a bunch of bills on the counter, and carried Artemis back to his car. The next thing Pat heard was a tire screeching against the pavement.
"Guess they are going to start making those kittens, Artemis mentioned," Pat said, then took a sip of her drink.
Katerina, Tina, Gwendyln, and Abigale were now sitting around the Kitchen Table. Each one had a mug of warm milk in front of them. While the two young she-cats talked about how awesome Sniper and Havoc were, the two adults were trying to figure out if Abigale could be trusted not to reveal their secret. But how the rest of the squad is going to handle them exposing themselves to a young girl.
Tina noticed how well Abigale and Gwendyln got along. She figured there was no harm with letting Abigale into the group, especially after Gwendyln explained in very vivid detail how awesome it was to be flying in the Turbo Kat 2. "Abigale. Kat and I hope you can keep what you've seen and heard here to yourself," Tina said.
"Of course, Miss Cassidy!" Abigale said. "I still can't believe the Deputy Mayor and Lieutenant Felina Feral are Empress and Caliber! I have pictures of them in my room!"
"They will be happy you think that highly of them, to have their pictures, Abigale. However, Felina will soon be known as, Commander Felina Clawson," Katerina said.
Abigale almost dropped her mug back to the table when she heard Katerina. She excitingly said, "She's going to be the Commander?! That is so awesome!"
"She is going to take the Enforcers, places they have never been before. With the help of my mothers, of course," Gwendyln said, winking at her mothers.
Tina laid her right arm around Katerina's shoulders, then asked, "Abigale, if we get the ok from the rest, would you like to see the hangar? You might even get to meet Callie, Felina, and their kittens."
"That would be great!" Abigale answered, jumping out of her chair, knocking it to the ground. She turned around and picked the chair up as she said, "Sorry."
"Its alright, Abigale. Meanwhile, why don't you get in touch with your mother and let her know where you are, and if you would like, you can spend the night, with her permission of course," Katerina said.
Abigale pulled her phone out of her right pants pocket and flipped it open. She searched her contacts for her mother's phone number, and pressed the call button. She then lifted the device to her right ear and waited for her mother to answer.
Pat had ordered a light dinner after Rolland carried Artemis out of the diner. She was about to take a bite of the Tuna Salad she had ordered, when her phone started ringing in her purse. Pat put down the fork she was holding in her left paw, retrieved the phone from her purse with her right, and with her left index finger, swiped across the bottom of the phone. She brought it up to her right ear, and said, "Hello."
"Mommy! I am having so much fun at Gwendyln's! Her mothers are so nice, and both of them are Enforcers! They brought me over to meet Gwendyln's Grandparents where I raced her Grandmother, and won! Did I mention she's a Lynx, so she's fast, but I'm faster!"
Pat smiled as she listened to her daughter tell her about her time with her friend. However, she felt a pang of guilt, since she wasn't with her to experience what her daughter was telling her. She waited for her daughter to take a breath, then said, "I'm glad you are having fun, Abigale. But where are you so I can come and pick you up?"
"That's the best part! Her mother invited me to stay tonight!" Abigale said.
"Abigale, can I talk to one of Gwendyln's mothers, to discuss this with them?" Pat asked.
"Sure! Let me get one of them," Abigale said and lightly dropped the phone to the counter, and went to get one of Gwendyln's mothers.
While Pat waited, she picked up her fork again and managed to take that bite of the Tuna Salad. She quickly chewed her food and swallowed in time to hear a she-cat's voice, with a heavy Eastern European accent. "Ms. Meadows, I'm Katerina Belikov, one of Gwendyln's mothers, how can I help you?"
"Miss, or is it Misses Belikov?" Pat asked.
"Its Miss. Tina and I are not married, yet. But please call me Katerina." Katerina answered.
"Katerina. I understand you invited my daughter to stay there tonight?" Pat asked.
"Da, we did. She's a delightful little girl, Ms. Meadows. Its getting late and we'd hate for you to have to drive out here to get her, then return to the city," Katerina said.
"She doesn't have a change of clothes, or anything with her. I wasn't prepared for her to be spending the night, anywhere. I hope that will not be an issue?" Pat asked.
"Niet. She and Gwendyln are very close to the same size. I'm sure she can find something that will fit her." Katerina looked over her right shoulder to see Tina, Abigale and Gwendyln in the Living room, looking at pictures and articles of them in their SWAT persona and how they were all smiling and laughing with each other. "Ms. Meadows, Miss Romanov and I were discussing what you do at night, after Abigale treated a minor cut on my paw. Abigale told me, you come home with bruises. You tell her you fell. However, she's smart enough to know, those bruises are not from a fall. Miss Romanov and I are concerned for your, and Abigale's safety. I'm going to be blunt, Ms. Meadows. Is someone hurting you?" Katerina asked.
Pat looked down at her semi-empty plate, then out of the window of the diner to the streets of the city. She still felt the light sting of where her date slapped her, and answered, "Some of the toms I meet get a little, aggressive with their paws, like the guy I was with tonight. However, I met two nice cats at the club, and after I told one of them, I didn't want to leave with my date, they took me out of there."
Katerina surmised she was being abused already. But to hear it from her mouth, made her furious. "I'm happy you are in a safe place, Ms. Meadows. How are you getting home?" Katerina asked, as she fumed internally.
"I guess I can take the subway back? He was my ride," Pat said.
"Send me the address, and I will have someone come and get you. Their names will be Elizaveta and Inna. Inna is quite large and intimidating, but she's as gentle as a kitten and Elizaveta works with me at the Enforcers. They will bring you home, nice and safe," Katerina said.
"I don't know how to thank you," Pat said.
"You don't have to. They will be there soon. Good night, Ms. Meadows," Katerina said, and disconnected the call. A half a minute later, an message showed up on the phone, with the name and address of the Diner Ms. Meadows was waiting in. Katerina withdrew her phone from her sweatpants pocket and called Elizaveta.
"Da, Commader," she answered.
"I have the location of where Ms. Meadows currently is. You and Inna go and get her, and bring her back to her apartment. While you are at it, try to get the name of the tom who she was with tonight and pay him a visit. You understand, da?" Katerina said.
"Commander, you are the one who told us, to do things on the right side of the law. Are you sure you want Inna and me to remove this Scumbag from existence?" Elizaveta asked.
"Da, I give you those orders, Elizaveta, and no I don't want him killed. Just a friendly reminder that striking a she-cat is not tolerated and we she-cats strike back, with our claws out," Katerina said.
"Gotcha, commander. It will be done as you said," Elizaveta said and disconnected the call.
As Katerina put her phone away, she said, "Its a good thing I'm not with them. I might have to go back on my word, and teach him a lesson he will never forget!" She then left the kitchen to change into something more appropriate to head out to the hangar in.
An hour and a half later, the four of them were standing right in front of the two jets, with Abigale's mouth hanging open in awe as to what she was seeing.
"I gather you like, Abi?" Gwendyln asked.
"What's not to like? Are they as fast as they look?" Abigale asked, stepping forward to touch the nose of the TurboKat.
As her tiny paws brushed over the slick paint, Tina said, "That's the first generation. Its impressive, but not as fast as the jet, Katerina gets to fly. The TurboKat 2 can almost fly circles around the TurboKat, and its pilots."
"Tina, are you saying Katerina can out fly me and my baby?" Chance asked.
The four of them turned around to face the ladder leading back to the garage to see Chance standing there with his arms crossed over his chest.
"Uncle Chance!" Gwendyln said as she ran to the tabby with her arms open.
Chance fell on his left knee, waiting to embrace his niece. He loved both Gwendyln and Sarah. Especially when he got to play with them in the yard. Seeing their smiles on their faces as he rode them around the yard on one of Jake's inventions as fast as he could go, while he pictured doing the same thing with is own daughters, once they were old enough to partake in his style of fun, warmed his heart and he always returned with a large smile on his face.
Gwendlyn collided with the sturdy tom, wrapping her arms as tightly as she could around his neck. She kissed his left cheek, then said, "Don't mind my mommy too much. She only says those things to get a rise out of you, and Mark.
Chance hugged her back, and said, "Don't let Callie see you kissing me, Gwendyln. She might get jealous that I'm being kissed by someone as beautiful as you." He turned his head to the left and winked at her, then said, "I know your mother is only teasing. However, I know your mother is an excellent pilot and when she's behind the controls of the TurboKat 2, no one that I know of, including me, can out fly her."
A small tear left Katerina's right eye, as she said, "You really mean that, Chance?"
He picked up Gwendyln in his right arm and carried her over to Katerina. Then said, "Kat, you are one of the best pilots that I've ever seen. I'm honored not only to share the skies with you, but to call you one of the best friends I have."
Katerina let her tears fall freely as she hugged Chance and her daughter.
Chance hugged her back, kissed her cheek, and said, "If I wasn't so in love with Callie, I could have fallen for you, quite easily, Kat. But I'm glad I am in love with her. Tina is your perfect match. I could never give you, half the happiness and joy she does. If you allow me, I'd like to be the one to give you away, when you marry her."
"You want to give me away, Chance? Why?" She asked.
"Giving you to your lovely bride, will close and seal what we once were, and continue our lives together as a true family, Katerina. Besides, after all we have been through, I consider you as my sister. Shouldn't your brother be the one to give his sister to the love of her life?" He asked.
"Da, my brother should be the one to give me away to the she-cat I love almost more than anything," She answered, then kissed Chance.
Callie looked down from the hatch to see Katerina kissing her husband. She scrunched up her face in anger, then said, "Can someone explain why my husband is kissing Katerina, again!? And it had better be a good one, or he will be looking for a lawyer, very soon!"
Katerina withdrew from the kiss, looked up to Callie, and answered, "Your wonderful husband, and my brother asked if he could be the one to give me away to Tina. I accepted and kissed him to show my gratitude. You, my dear friend, and sister have nothing to be concerned over. He loves you and his daughters, not me."
"Good," Callie said, followed by, "Can everyone give me a paw, getting my babies down here?"
Of course they all lined up at he bottom of the ladder, with Chance halfway up to take his girls from their mother, before passing them onto Katerina, and finally Tina, who placed them in a large crib Jake had built.
Gwendlyn and Abigale were standing on the side of the crib, looking down at the little girls."They are so beautiful, uncle Chance and aunt Callie!" Gwendyln said.
"They are so tiny," Abigale said, and asked, "What are their names and how do you tell them apart?"
Chance came over to them and knelt down so he was at the same level of the girls, and answered, "Its not as easy as you think." He looked into the crib, so he could get the order correct. "Callista is easy to identify. She has a tiny birth mark on her left cheek. She's the one of the far left. Kate and Mary are much harder to tell apart. Kate is on the far right. She has slightly lighter striping than Mary does."
"And hopefully, they will have the intelligence of their mother," Felina said as she stepped off of the ladder, cradling Alex in her left arm.
As soon as Callie heard Felina's voice, she ran to her and hugged her best friend. "You really need to lay off, teasing Chance, Lina," she said.
"Why, Callie? He takes my teasing so well," Felina said and smiled at Callie.
Callie blew a strand of hair out of her face, then said, "Chance does take your teasing, quite well. Now, give me my nephew, so I can hold him."
Felina passed her son over to Callie, who brought the kitten to her chest, then kissed him. "You know, he looks more like Ulysses, every time I see him," she said.
"I was hoping, he would look more like me, Callie," Jake said as he stepped off the ladder. He went over to his wife, kissed her, and said as he looked at Alex, "At least our son, will have good genes."
Felina put her right arm around her husband, and said, "Alex is going to be big and strong, like the Ferals and have your brains, dear."
"He is the perfect blend of both of us, Felina. I love you," Jake said, then kissed her.
Felina kissed him back, then became more aggressive. She pushed him against the wall, looked him in the eye, and said, "I love you too. I'm going to kiss you, and show you, how my mother bagged my father!" She slammed her mouth against his, wrapping her arms around his neck, holding him tight to her.
When Jake tried to take in a breath, she slipped her tongue into his mouth.
"Felina! There are young kittens present!" Tina said.
Felina withdrew from her kiss, and said, "You're lucky they are here, Jake. If they weren't, you and I would be working on that second kitten, on the wing of my jet!" She quickly kissed him again, let him go, and slinked her way over to the crib where Gwendyln and Abigale were still looking at the girls.
Chance chuckled at Felina's actions, then asked Jake, "So, she wants another kitten, Jake?"
"We both do, buddy," Jake answered. "Believe it or not. Felina is an amazing mother. Just yesterday, I came home to see her on the floor, playing with Alex with a smile on her face, like I've never seen. My only wish is I had the courage to ask her out years ago."
"You and I both! If I had the courage to ask Callie out, years ago. We could have had a family already, watching them grow up to be independent. Instead of starting now," Chance said, looking at his wife who was still holding Alex in her arms.
"Will you two stop telling us how much you love your wives, and take my kittens from me. I need to help Lisa down the ladder," Mark said, stepping off of the ladder with his kids in his right arm.
Chance took Raphael from Mark while Jake took Katherine. Once the kittens were safely in their uncle's arms, Mark climbed back up the ladder to help Lisa.
He got to the top of the ladder and looked up at Lisa, who was dressed in a knee length green skirt and a lighter green blouse. His heart starting beating faster and faster the longer he looked at his angel. "Come on, Lisa. Your chariot awaits," he said with a smile on his face.
She looked down at her husband, and asked, "Are you going to carry me like one of our children, Mark?"
Mark climbed the last remaining steps of the ladder. With the smile still on his face, he said, "Actually, yes I am." He picked her up in his left arm as she wrapped her arms around his neck, and then proceeded down the ladder.
Mark jumped off the fourth rung form the bottom, landing on his feet.
Lisa felt him let go of the ladder, followed by a the feeling of falling. She closed her eyes as she prepared herself for impacting the hard cement of the hangar's floor. But the impact never came. Instead, Mark landed softly on his feet, using his legs as a cushion. "Ride's over, dear. You can let go, if you want."
Lisa opened her eyes to see most of the gang, and a little cheetah girl she didn't know looking back at them. She swatted her husband's right arm, and said, "Don't you ever do that again!"
Mark didn't like being scolded by Lisa at all. He only wanted her to be happy at all times, and not to scare her. He looked into his wife's blue eyes, and said, "I'm sorry, Lisa." He then gave her the same look Raphael gave her when he did something he wasn't supposed to. Which was to make his eyes lightly water and make his lower lip tremble.
Lisa took one look at Mark and realized he was trying to make her feel guilty for yelling at him. However, just like Raphael, Mark looked completely adorable to the point she had to give in. "Oh I forgive you," she said then gave him a little kiss.
Mark felt Lisa's lips quickly touch his, then withdraw. He absolutely loved the way Lisa's lips felt and tasted against his. So, a tiny peck wasn't going to satisfy him. He gently brought his mouth down to hers, and gave her a kiss, that made her toes curl in her sneakers.
Felina caught them in their now shared kiss. She went over to them, and whispered just loud enough for them to hear, "Jake's Room is still furnished, if you two want to use it."
Lisa pulled back from the kiss, and said without breaking eye contact with Mark, "I'm sure we can wait to get back home, before we continue our little discussion, Felina. Right, honey?" She then patted his groin with her right paw, feeling how her kiss affected him.
Mark let out a low growl, then said, "Keep touching me like that, Lisa and I'll take her up on her offer."
Lisa quickly removed her paw and patted his left cheek. "When we were out earlier, I happened to find this tiny neglige. If you are a good boy, I'll wear it for you, after we put Raphael and Katherine to bed."
Mark wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her flush to his much larger body, and said, "I'll be a Good boy."
Lisa tried to get out of his hold, but he was much stronger than she was. He then said, "But tonight. I'm going to be, very bad. And you're going to love it." He quickly kissed her, then said, "I love you."
"I love you too. Let me go, and tonight, you can be as bad as you want," Lisa said.
Mark let her go, and watched as she walked over to the crib, where the kittens were penned up.
Lisa picked up Raphael in her arms, kissed him, then focused on the little cheetah girl, and said, "I'm Lisa, this is my son, Raphael. My daughter is Katherine. What's your name?"
"Hi Lisa! My name is Abigale. But I prefer to be called Abi," she answered. Then asked, "Do you have a Code Name too?"
"I do, and so does my husband. I'm also known as Pirouette. My husband Mark is called Adonis, for obvious reasons," Lisa answered.
"Pirouette? Did you used to dance, or something?" Abigale asked.
"I did, before I discovered I have a disease which makes my bones brittle. Now, I'm going to be the Assistant Commander, once I'm done with Maternity Leave," Lisa answered.
As Mark walked over to Lisa's side, he said, "And if she continued dancing, I would have never married, or had a family with this amazing she-cat. Who still makes my heart jump in my chest, every time I see her." He kissed her, then said, "I love you, almost more than anything, Lisa."
"Will you two stop kissing each other! You two are almost as bad as Katerina and Tina! And that's very difficult," Callie said. She then kissed Alex, and asked, "Abigale, Katerina told me, you have a picture of me and Felina in your room?"
"I do! You both have your uniforms on and your left paw is raised to your shoulder, surrounded by this gold glow. And she has this serious look, while she's holding a gun in her right paw. You both look so awesome in it!" Abigale answered.
"Well, I'm flattered you have our picture in your room, Abigale," Callie said.
"Heck with that, sister!" Felina said, as she approached. "Considering all the crud I went through to get where I am today. I'm honored you think so highly of me, and my sister to have our picture." She looked around at the rest of the group, then asked, "Want to go for a ride on a Cyclotron?"
Abigale's little feet became a blur as she ran to Felina as fast as she could. Then hugged her, as she answered, "Yes! This is going to be the best day ever!"
Felina hugged her back, and said, "You need a uniform, first. Can't have my Fledgling out there, not looking as awesome as me."
"Fledgling?" Abigale asked, as she looked up at her.
"Sarah already has the code name, Apprentice. So, I can't call you that. Fledgling is another word, that means the same thing. Come, Fledgling. Let's get you into a uniform, then onto a Cyclotron," Felina said and took Abigale towards the lockers.
Chance went over to Callie, kissed Alex between the ears, then asked, "Do you think, giving Felina an apprentice is a good idea?"
"What harm can it do, Chance," she responded. "Felina's already working with Sarah and Gwendyln and with her being friends with both of them, Abigale would find out about us, eventually. Might as well bring her in sooner than later."
"I agree, Callie," Jake said. "Someone, or a group of someones will have to take over for us in the future. Might as well be our kids and their friends, who are trained by us."
Felina returned to the hangar, now wearing her uniform. She placed her paws on her hips, then said, "Abigale's legs are slightly longer than Sarah's, and her feet didn't fit into her boots. But I think my Fledgling looks, completely awesome. You will have to let me know." She stepped to her right, and turned on her left heel to look at Abigale.
She was now dressed in one of Sarah's uniforms. However, since Abigale's body was slightly taller, and her legs were longer than Sarah's, the uniform fit Abigale tighter than it did Sarah. "What do you all think?" Fledgling asked.
Gwendlyn left the crib and came over to her friend. She looked her over, and said, "Its not as cool as Kunoichi's uniform, but I like it! You want to try it out?"
"As much as I want to see if I can run in it, I need shoes that fit. These things are starting to hurt my feet," Fledging answered.
"Then take them off," Chance said. "Jake and I run around in bare feet, when we are T-Bone and Razor. Give it a shot, and see if you can run the way you want."
Fledgling lifted her right leg and unzipped the boot. Then pulled her foot out and set it back on the floor. She repeated this with her left, then stretched out both of her feet. "That's much better, where can I stretch my legs?" She asked.
Jake went over to the far wall, where there was a Red and Green set of buttons, mounted one over the other on the wall. He pushed the green button, which activated the Hangar doors leading into the yard. "Why don't you head on up with Caliber, while the rest of us, change?"
Fledgling didn't need to be asked twice. She ran to Caliber, grabbed her left paw, and ran up the ramp, with Caliber in tow, trying desperately to keep up with the young girl.
Pat wanted to see her daughter, more than ever after their conversation. After Elizaveta and Inna dropped her off at her building. She went inside her apartment long enough to grab the keys to her car and change into a pair of Athletic Shorts and a T-Shirt. She went to her car located in the building's underground garage, pulled on the Driver's Door handle, opening the door, and slipped behind the wheel. She opened up the lid to the center console, reaching inside for her Phone Charging cable. She connected her phone to the cable, and finally to the Cigarette Lighter outlet, and tapped on the Tracking Application which was linked to Abigale's phone. Pat's phone showed a Blue dot in the middle of a Large Lot somewhere Downtown. "I have no idea what's there. But if that is where Abigale is, that's where I'm heading."
A few minutes later, everyone was assembled at the beginning of the Obstacle Course, dressed in their uniforms.
Sniper kissed Havoc, then came forward and crouched in front of Fledgling. She looked into her mask covered eyes, with her own, and said, "Kunoichi ran this course, faster than anyone of us expected. Its starts with a 60 yard dash, leading to a wall of wooden pallets, which must be scaled. Followed by a Rope Swing, over a pond of muck you don't want to fall into. Then finally a Tire Obstacle. Let's see what you can do, Fledgling."
Fledgling looked over at the Pallet wall and quickly surmised, she could jump most of the way up, then climb the rest quite easily. She would worry about the rest later. She lowered her body onto her paws and feet, lifting her hips in the air, just like her mother taught her, when she wanted to accelerate as fast as she could.
"We're not going to time this, so anytime you're ready, start," Caliber said.
That was all Fledgling needed to hear, and she was gone. Her little legs and arms propelled her to a top speed of forty five miles an hour within three seconds. She completed the 60 yard dash, like a flash of lightning. And when she approached the wall, she slowed down just enough to raise her upper body from the position she was in, and sprung forward, launching herself, three-fifths of the way up the wall.
Pirouette leaned over to Adonis, and asked, "Did you and I see the same thing? I blinked and she was at the wall."
"You're not seeing things, dear," Adonis said. "If she's that fast, I wonder how much quicker her mother is?"
While the adults were struggling to define what their eyes were seeing, Fledgling sprung forward again, completing the Wall Climb. She looked at the beam holding the ropes over the ugly looking pond, and formed a plan in her mind. Fledgling crouched down on the edge of the wall with her paws between her feet, and with all her might, launching herself though the air and onto the beam. Once she landed, she ran across the beam on all fours, increasing her stability and speed.
"How is such a small girl so fast?" Sniper asked, watching Fledgling run across the narrow beam.
Fledgling leaped from the beam to the ground and took off towards the tires, where she ran through them at two to three rows at a time, still increasing her velocity. She finally skidded to a stop, rose to her feet, and asked, "How did I do?"
All the adults were speechless, since they have never seen the course run, in what seemed like the blink of an eye. Finally Razor said, "That was amazing, Fledgling! Too bad you are so young. We could use someone with your speed and dexterity on the team."
Pat arrived to what appeared to be a large Salvage Yard and stopped in front of a pair of high Chain Link gates, with a Security Camera aimed right at her. She waived at the camera with her left paw, hoping someone would come and open the gates. However, no one came as she hoped. She waited for another few minutes, before getting out of the car and examining the fencing in front of her. She walked back to the street, then ran towards it as fast as she could. When she was about ten feet away from the fence, she launched herself at the fencing, and once she grabbed ahold of the fencing, she vaulted herself over the fence to the other side, where she landed on her feet in a graceful crouch. "Not bad for a she-cat my age," she said as she dusted herself off. That was when she heard a group of cats cheering on someone called Fledgling from around a stack of junked cars. She briskly walked around the stack to see the group, dressed in blue and red, and a few in gray and black uniforms. She finally noticed her daughter, dressed like one of them, and asked, "Why is everyone dressed in some sort of costume, and what team are you referring to?"
Fledgling saw her mother, standing behind the rest of SWAT, and excitingly said, "Mommy!"
