Being that Rin had trained under Kaede since she was a small child she had a great deal of knowledge about medicinal herbs and women's health that most did not possess.

Kagome with her advanced education from her own time explained things to Rin as to what really goes on in a woman's body once she started her monthly cycle.

It wasn't too long afterwards that she had decided the entire thing a complete nuisance and began a daily regime of ginger root tea to help alleviate her symptoms and better control her cycle as it had been heavy and erratic.

While she hadn't been able to test its effectiveness as a contraceptive personally it did seem to work for some of the other women in the village once it was prescribed to them by Kaede or herself.

Preparing the tea she curiously eyed Jaken who had yet to wake up. Taking the stick that she had used to stoke her small fire to life she poked at him.

"Oh Master Jaken." She said in a sing song tone. "Wake up master Jaken."

"Jaken!" Sesshomaru commanded suddenly in his no nonsense way. As if on cue Jaken sat up groaning.

"Are you well master Jaken? You fainted." Rin commented.

"Rin?" He blinked a few times as if trying to remember the events leading up to him waking. The realization seemed to slam into as he jumped to his feet quickly and began a slew of accusations.

"Rin! How dare you seduce Lord Sesshomaru in such a way!? Who do you think you are taking advantage of our lords generosity to use it for your own benefit?!"

"Whatever are you talking about master Jaken?" Rin questioned innocently.

"Don't play dumb with me girl! I saw you…both of you!" Pointing his staff in Sesshomarus direction he seemed to turn his attention to him. "And you! Taking poor, little Rin in such a way! You oughta be ashamed of yourself!"

"Be more specific Jaken. What exactly are you insinuating?" Sesshomaru replied cooly.

"Ack! No! I don't want to think about what I saw! The two of you! Why?! I can understand why Rin would but my lord! Why mate a human?" Jaken yelled out.

"Master Jaken!" Rin shouted. "I think that the heat has gone to your head! Lord Sesshomaru would never lie with me!"

"I know what I saw! Don't play me for a fool!" He retorted back.

"And what if this one had lain with Rin?" Sesshomaru asked. Standing from his sitting position he walked over to them. "Would you disapprove? Resign your position as my right hand?"

"I-I-Lord Sesshomaru…n-no never mi'lord!" Jaken stuttered. Assisting Rin to stand she gave him a curious glance as if asking he were ready to fully admit to it or not.

"If such a thing were true then that would mean this Sesshomaru would need you more than ever to stay by my side Jaken." He said. "My allies would become far and few between with such a decision as that. Do you not agree?"

"Undoubtedly mi'lord." Jaken nodded his head quickly. "Just as I always have been I am your humble servant and will follow you wherever you go or whatever you may decide."

"Good." Taking Rin into his arms he rubbed his nose against hers causing her to giggle.

"I need to sit down." Jaken.

"Are you not happy for us master Jaken?" Rin glanced down at him taking in his exasperated expression.

"I am quite confused over all of this but if this is what is to be then so be it." Jaken replied.

"Great!" Rin said cheerfully. "I'm going to finish my tea now so I don't get pregnant."

"Ugh." Jaken placed his head in his hands. "And here I thought my days of playing nurse maid were done with."

"As long as I can make my tea then you won't have to worry about that for now." She stated going back to her task.

Whenever Sesshomaru asked Rin if she were ready to go back go the village to inform the others of their plans she always said, tomorrow.

Not that Sesshomaru minded, he was simply thinking of her and what she wanted.

"When we go back I want to live near the village but not in it. I want us to live together my lord in our own home." Rin said as they sat together under the shade of a tree. "With enough space for master Jaken to have his own quarters and a stable for An-Un. I want all of us to be together."

"Hm." Sesshomaru replied thinking it over as he stared out across the river they were sitting by.

"I'm going to go find something to eat, my lord." Rin stood brushing herself off. "I shouldn't be too long." Running off into the forest behind them she knew he had heard her despite not receiving a reply.

Earlier in the day when they had come to rest she had set up some snares to see if she could catch a hare or other type of creature to make a meal of.

Bending down to inspect one she saw it had triggered but there was nothing in it.

"Aw." She sighed out. "Wily creatures." Resetting it she stood to be faced with a tall demon. His armor adorned the mark of the crescent moon.

Taking a slow step back Rin opened her mouth to shout for Sesshomaru only to have a hand grab her roughly by the waist while the other muffled her screams.

Desperately she shut her eyes as the two guards lifted into the air high into the sky.

'Lord Sesshomaru, save me!' She plead silently with everything she had within her hoping that he would hear her.

In a shot Sesshomaru was to the spot where Rins scent stopped. He caught the faintness of familiar demonic aura.

Growling he transformed himself to race to his mothers palace beyond worried as to what she had planned for Rin.
