Kaede officiated the ceremony and Kagome served the sake in the bowls for the couples to sip from.

As there were only three ornate ceremonial bowls Sesshomaru and Rin drank from them first before they were presented to Kohaku and Izumi.

Rin was practically in tears as she watched her oldest friend pass his to her closest friend as they performed the ceremony.

Turning her attention towards her own groom Sesshomaru sat beside her his eyes trained only on her. Taking a deep breath and smiling widely as they joined their hands together upon Kaedes request Rin was astonished to feel the slight tremble in his hand.

Squeezing hard for reassurance she closed her eyes feeling as if at any moment she would wake up and none of it would be real.

"It is my honor and duty to present Lord Sesshomaru and Lady Rin of the western house of the moon. Lord Kohaku and Lady Izumi of the eastern house of the sun. May your unions be strong and thrive." Kaede said standing.

With the completion of the wedding ceremony Rin jumped up taking Kaede in her arms tightly. "Thank you Lady Kaede." She wept.

"My pleasure my dear girl." She patted Rins back the way she did when she was a child. "Be well and happy with your lord. Do not forget about me from time to time and visit."

"Of course we will, as often as we can." Rin gushed wiping at her tears as they broke their embrace.

"I am so happy." Sango cried hugging Izumi to her. "Thank you, thank you for joining our family Izu."

Settling into Sangos arms Izumi felt overwhelmed only able to nod her head once as she embraced her as well. Miroku smiled widely as he hit Kohaku on the back companionably and shook his brother in-laws hand.

Their children presented the couples with bouquets of flowers that Kagome had handed them. Rin gave hers to Kaede as Izumi handed hers to Sango and Miroku.

"You know better than anyone that I do not have the best hand writing Lady Kaede." Rin said taking out her letter to present to the elder. "But I hope that you can understand in it what I am trying to say."

"You made me an old mother Rin but one none the less." Kaede stated taking the letter from her. "It has been my pleasure to raise you, to teach you what I know, and for you to be happy means the world to me."

"I don't know where I would be with out you my lady. Thank you, I can never say it enough." Rin replied.

"Lord Kohaku?" Kohaku questioned Izumi as they made their way outside of the hut.

"Yes." Izumi said smiling. "You are. It is strictly honorific."

"To be clear I never wanted any type of title." He replied.

"I know. That's why you deserve it." Bringing her gaze to his as they sat down he brought her hand to his lips. Rin and Sesshomaru sat beside them with the two females side by side.

Food was brought out by Kagome, Sango, and Kaede as the small group enjoyed their reception. Inuyasha sat off to the side relatively silent with his eyes closed and his hands in his sleeves.

"Kagome, what's wrong with Inuyasha?" Rin asked looking over to him.

"Oh, don't worry about him. You just enjoy your day sweetie." Kagome said kindly. Izumi herself found her eyes fixed on Sesshomarus half-breed brother.

She had heard so many rumors over the years about the illegitimate son the powerful Lord Toga had died protecting that he had only seemed like a story to her yet there he was, flesh and blood.

Standing she walked over to him. Opening his eyes he looked up at her.

"Can I help you with somethin'?" He asked rather rudely.

"I am Izumi, you may call me Izu. I knew your father when I was younger." She said. Watching as he took a deep breath and seemed to straighten himself out a bit he cleared his throat.

"That so?"

"Yes. He was a good person with a good heart. I have no doubt in my mind that he loved you immensely." She said.

"Thanks." Inuyasha said standing. "Congratulations."

"Thank you Inuyasha." Watching as his gaze fell to where Sesshomaru sat with Rin he took another deep breath walking over to them. Izumi followed sitting back down beside Kohaku and Rin.

"Rin, Sesshomaru. Congratulations. You two were meant for each other." He said sincerely.

"Thank you Inuyasha." Rin bowed slightly to him in respect and gratitude. "I am so happy that you are now my brother and Kagome is my sister."

"Likewise." Turning to Kohaku he gave a small nod relaying everything he could with the simple gesture.

"Thank you Inuyasha." He said.

"Just, when you all start having half-breeds don't come lookin' for me for advice." He stated waking away back to his corner.

"Oh I am definitely going to bother him." Rin said playfully. Izu smirked at her friend as she sighed. "Are you alright Izu?"

Turning to her friend she had tears in her eyes. Wrapping an arm around her shoulders Rin cuddled against her. "Don't cry. This is a happy day."

"I know Rin. That is why I am. I have never been this happy in my entire life. I understand why this is so important, what makes it special." Izumi assured.

"Good." Rin gave her a tight squeeze before releasing her. "What are your plans after the reception? Where will you and Kohaku spend your first night together as husband and wife?"

"It doesn't matter." Izumi said. "We'll be together. What about both of you?"

"We have our spot." Rin smiled brightly at her and blushed. Smiling back at her Izumi placed a hand to her mouth as she giggled.

"Tomorrow we should meet up and have tea." Izumi suggested.

"That is a wonderful idea Izu." Rin agreed catching onto what the other was saying.

With night blanketing the sky quickly as the reception lasted late into the evening the couples parted ways and bid good-byes to their families.

Kohaku led Izumi one way while Sesshomaru took Rin in another.

A/N: Hello dear readers. Question; which chapter do you want to read first for marriage consummation? Sesshomaru and Rin or Kohaku and Izumi? I'm giving each couple their own chapters so let me know which one to post first.
