I don't own digimon.

Story 73

Moonlight Denestu Pt 1 - Set it on fire

Volcdramon knew she was not a morning person in the slightest. But even she knew that the sky was supposed to be blue, not red. Unless the apocalypse had started and the dragon princess digimon hadn't been made aware of it. Yet, that pales in comparison to Belphemon's appearance. For some reason, the massive furry turd of a digimon decided that now of all times was perfect to taunt her. Perhaps before going off to fight Ophani for one dumb reason or another. Wouldn't surprise her in the slightest. Or she had ulterior motives here and things were about to get far, far, worse. Likely the latter. Because of course it was. Couldn't have nice things in the slightest with her around.

"I don't want anything to do with you, so go the fuck away." Volcdramon announced and got a chuckle from Belphemon.

"But you wanted to play with me before. What changed?" Belphemon taunted and Volcdramon looked away. She very much knew why. Or did she want her to answer? The dragon princess digimon couldn't say for certain/ A fact that scared her even more.

"I don't know, you pretended to be my partner, you've attacked people and you're an absolute brat. That's more than enough reasons to not play with you!" Volcdramon announced and stomped her foot. Getting a chuckle from Belphemon, she opened her mouth up.

Volcanic Fount!

Letting forth a geyser of lava, she watched Belphemon get knocked back. A shame that it didn't kill her. No, it would take far more than that in order to accomplish such a deed.

"Aw… I guess that means I need to kill everyone then." Belphemon announced as a cocoon of dark energy formed around her. Volcdramon stepped back, looking around for anyone else who maybe could lend a hand with the mess she was about to create.

Belphemon mode change too… Belphemon Rage Mode!

The cocoon shattered, revealing a tall goat demon. Meeting that of Volcdramon's gaze and then stretching up towards the sky, Volcdramon knew she was seriously fucked here. There was no doubting it in the slightest. If she was to survive this battle, the dragon princess digimon would need to fight like she had nothing to lose.

Circle of Death!

Letting for sulfur from her back, she watched the cloud form above and then spread out in a couple-mile wide circle. By no means healthy in the slightest, it was bound to get on her opponent's nerves. As ways to waste time go, it was very much up here.

"Pathetic. How dare you create something that makes people suffer?!" Belphemon Rage Mode announced and glared at her opponent. The absolute nerve of Volcdramon. This was to be her magnum opus. No more would Lilithmon be top dog. Instead, everyone else would be answering to her. She could already see it now. Getting to order employees around and calling the shots while getting to kill whoever she damn well pleased. What more could someone want here? The whole world would be nice, but that would need to be shared. A monopoly would never work in this economy, not in the slightest. Instead, Belphemon Rage Mode would settle for a good chunk of the world. That seemed fair. But that wasn't accounting for any rumors and the like.

"If it means that you'll be defeated, then yes." Volcdramon announced and got an eye roll from her opponent. She was definitely suffering the effects of the sulfur. How long exactly, remained to be seen. All the more reason to push the initiative.

Volcanic Fount!

A stream of magma shot forth from Volcdramon, only to be met with black chains. Bringing both attacks to an end, the cloud of sulfur was set aflame. With it, a couple trees. Nowhere near any houses, that didn't make it any less concerning.

"Do you want to know what I did to your partner? I would be more than willing to tell you." Belphemon Rage Mode announced, but her claim fell on deaf ears. The last thing she needed here was to know what had happened to her Veronica. For something that occurred so long ago, the fact that she had somehow not even noticed until it was too late absolutely pissed her off.

"You killed her and then took her body. Simple as that." Volcdramon announced and got laughter from Belphemon Rage Mode.

"If only it was that simple. That fucking brat refused to listen to any of my orders! So I drowned her, pulling her out just in time to do it again and again. It was so damn fun to do. When I'm done here, I'm going to find some kids to drown as well. Blow off some steam and let the screams take me away. Once her soul finally came out, I dropped it into the darkness where it was never seen again." Belphemon announced and got a look of complete disgust from Volcdramon. How dare she treat her partner like she was a useless piece of trash? Veronica deserved a far better fate than that. Belphemon Rage Mode just couldn't see it. That had to be it.

"Let me show how 'simple' my partner was then!" Volcdramon announced as she swung her body around. Aiming for Belphemon Rage Mode's chest, it's a direct hit. Not really doing anything to stagger the demon lord of wrath digimon, it did keep her attention on the dragon princess digimon. Valuable considering the number of humans, digimon and things that were located in the vicinity of the battlefield. Any one of those could be the catalyst for all manners of bad and nasty things to occur and possibly spell the end to her and/or the house. Lucas and Emily were over at Steve and Keith's house. If Belphemon Rage Mode did get close, Beelzebumon could evacuate them and let Ophani finish this monster off. For now, she let her attention shift back to Belphemon Rage Mode. "My partner only got to see me for a short period of time, snipped away before she could really make a connection. You will pay for that!"

Belphemon Rage Mode rolled her eyes. That was the big speech she was getting here? Pathetic. She had heard groveling that was more convincing than the words that had just come out of Volcdramon's mouth. Absolute shit that the dragon princess digimon believed in. But not her. She knew the truth and didn't ignore it in the slightest. Which obviously made her far better than her opponent. How that fact wasn't obvious to this moron was beyond her.

"Go on, keep believing the lies you tell yourself to feel better." Belphemon Rage Mode announced as a ball of chains appeared in her hands. Throwing it out in Volcdramon's direction, it didn't even come close to the target.

"Oh yes. Believing that I could somehow make something of this second chance while you're still around. That you were somehow a good person who could actually appreciate being a human for longer than five seconds. No, I'll go back to believing the lie 'that my actual partner is still out there and is coming to kick your ass'. How does that sound to you?" Volcdaramon announced as the last of the sulfur dissipated from the air. Nice while it had lasted, better to refrain from doing it again. Perhaps that had been enough to get someone's attention to help fight this big bully. That would be ideal right about now. By no means evenly matched, Volcdramon could hold for some time. But that didn't mean she was invincible. Far from it, in fact. She had her limits. Limits that had never been tested until today. All the more reason to have someone backing her up he-

Memento Saber!

Before Volcdramon could finish that though, a greatsword slammed into Belphemon Rage Mode's body. Knocking her back mere inches, that attack was responded with more black chain. Those too were easily sliced apart. Looking in the direction of the slashes, Volcdramon was met with UlforceVeedramon.

"Hello there, Royal Knight." Volcdramon greeted and curtsied for her newfound ally. Getting a nod from UlforceVeedramon, her attention swiveled back to Belphemon Rage Mode. The demon lord of wrath digimon chuckled, black flames forming in her hands. Shooting them out in the direction of the pair, they didn't come close to hitting either digimon.

"Oh. You're the one who chose to defy the future you were meant to get. Wonderful." Belphemon Rage Mode announced and looked in UlforceVeedramon's direction. Met with an eye roll, she responded with the equivalent to a middle finger. Not particularly effective here.

"So what? I know that my partner understands my reason for doing this." UlforceVeedramon announced and shifted his grip on the greatsword. Even in the light brought upon by this strange red sky, the crystal within shined brightly.

"So you managed to defy Anubismon. Eventually, they'll come back and you'll be all alone. Would be such a shame if that was how your legacy ended." Belphemon Rage Mode announced and was met with yet another eyebrow raise here. This time from Volcdramon, trying her hardest to not say something rude to get a response out of Belphemon Rage Mode. While already mad, her anger could no doubt get even worse here if she or UlforceVeedramon weren't careful.

"I'll just accept my fate and rejoin my partner in the afterlife. I like to believe he would want to see me again." UlforceVeedramon answered and pulled his greatsword back in anticipation of whatever Belphemon Rage Mode had in mind here. Definitely nothing good.

"Good thing that can be arranged." Belphemon Rage Mode announced, a smile forming on her face. Motioning for the digimon pair to come at her, Volcdramon and UlforceVeedramon remained still. What point was there in playing into the hand of someone who took pleasure in creating harm for others? Nothing, that's what. Better to wait it out and hope she got bored. "Fine then. I'm just going to go murder people now. For every second that you remain still, a person dies. How does that sound to you?"

UlforceVeedramon shook his head. Of course Belphemon Rage Mode would go for the nuclear option when things did not go her way. Almost expected of a 'demon lord' digimon. While most of them went legit not that long after Yggdrasil's death, there were a couple holdouts. But he had assumed that they finally gave in. In this case, he was partially right. But by the thinnest of margins.

"That sounds awful. You should be stopped before it comes to that." UlforceVeedramon announced and took a step forward. Looking Belphemon Rage Mode right in the eyes, he got a laugh in return. Nothing about this was funny. What even made the demon lord of wrath digimon even think this was okay in the slightest?

"Of course the big damn hero puts his foot down at the thought of mass murder. Why the heck would I even think you would bend that stupid moral code of yours to let me have some fun?" Belphemon Rage Mode countered, more chains appearing in her hands. Throwing them out in the direction of her opponents, Volcdramon and UlforceVeedramon dodged out of the way with ease.

Volcanic Fount!

Letting forth yet another stream of magma, Volcdramon did her best to hit Belphemon Rage Mode. While a good chunk of the magma did reach the target, it did little to actually burn her target. Heck, some of it even landed on the asphalt and formed massive lumps on the road. Even with no vehicles on the road, someone was bound to notice and send a construction crew to fix this problem. If there were any construction crews left to fix the problem. Knowing Belphemon Rage Mode, she would probably go out of her way in order to make this problem worse.

Lightning Horn!

Bolts of lightning shot forth from Belphemon Rage Mode's horns. Arcing to UlforceVeedramon, the royal knight digimon took the full brunt of the blast. Looking back at Belphemon Rage Mode, UlforceVeedramon swore they grew slightly bigger. That had to be a trick of his eyes. Likely brought on by way of some of the sulfur that had flooded his vision earlier. If not, what could be causing their opponent to slowly grow in size. It was not an evolution. That all occurred at once. No, this was something different.

Shining V-Force!

Thrusting his chest out, the 'V' on UlforceVeedramon's chest lit up. Launching out as a ray of energy, it slammed right into Belphemon Rage Mode.

"No more Ms nice Demon Lord!" Belphemon Rage Mode announced and focused on the house beside her opponents. Jumping into the air, she landed right on the roof. Smashing through with ease, debris went flying every which way. "There. I destroyed the only place you can call home, Volcdramon! How about that?!"

Volcdramon looked away, composing herself ahead of yet another one of Belphemon Rage Mode's tirades.

"Good for you. You destroyed one of the few things you actually could've said belonged to you. Such strength could be better used elsewhere." Volcdramon announced and looked at her opponent. Impressive as that feat of strength was, that didn't make it any less stupid. Words couldn't even describe the sheer incompetence she had just witnessed. Of course, Belphemon Rage Mode wouldn't see it that way. No, the bitch was quite proud of what she had just done to Luca's house. Looking in the direction of the wreckage, Volcdramon spewed out a ball of magma. Not even landing anywhere close to Belphemon Rage Mode, that got her a look from the demon lord of wrath digimon. Rolling her eyes back at her opponent, Volcdramon watched the ball of melted rock and fire land right in the wreckage. Catching fire, Belphemon Rage Mode somehow didn't notice. Even as the fire continued to rage on and consumed the material given to it. "Burn, like the legacy you're leaving us!"

That very much clued Belphemon Rage Mode into what was going on. Slamming her foot down, she looked in her opponent's direction. Flipping Volcdramon off, nothing escaped the dragon princess digimon's mouth. Wasn't worth it in the slightest. Better to keep her mouth shut then go out in a blaze of glory. There was only so much they could do before they either died or Belphemon Rage Mode got bored and went off to maim and/or murder one of the many other digimon/human pairs who were scattered abo-

Volcdramon's thought was cut off by way of the black chains wrapping around her body. Looking at her opponent, she could clearly see the fire continue to burn. Belphemon Rage Mode had no doubt grown bigger. Yet, she was fine with that. For one reason or another, the dragon princess digimon could sense the presence of a familiar someone. Contrary to the claims made here, the truth was a lot more clear cut.

"Go ahead. Strike me down, you cowardly bitch." Volcdramon announced and held still within the chains. While the want to struggle to get out clung tightly in her mind, that would be playing right into Belphemon Rage Mode's claws. She wanted to hear her prey screech and thrash about, demanding to be let free from these binds. Their life force would be drained away and then used for the sake of creating more death and destruction. But by remaining quiet after her boast, Belphemon Rage Mode could get very little from her.

"You aren't worth my time." Belphemon Rage Mode muttered and looked over to UlforceVeedramon. Just about ready to shift into his future mode, that was bound to fuck her shit up if she wasn't careful. The ability to see into the future was nothing to joke around with, let alone giving him the information necessary to defeat her. While possible to defy that outcome, such energy was better spent elsewhere. Like murdering people and/or their digimon partners. That sounded fun. Heck, the people might not even fight back and she could commit atrocities without anyone knowing. A win-win for everyone. "Bye Bitches!"

With that, Belphemon Rage Mode flew off. Not even waving in the direction of her opponents, UlforceVeedramon's attention shifted to his companion.

"Go find Examon. They're bound to need help." Volcdramon announced and looked in the direction of the wreckage. Just catching a glimpse of UlforceVeedramon, a sigh escaped her lips. She sincerely hoped that her sense were not playing a trick on her here.
