Omnipotent X - Such is the burden of one blessed with one of the most broken powers in fiction.
Reviloxx - Kyoya has endured a lot of their punishment over the years, but this won't stop him. Hope your last exams goes just as well. Kyoya will give as many head pats as it takes, per day of course.
There was nothing better than a Saturday afternoon for a high school student in Japan. With the school day finally over, tomorrow was free for whatever plans were made unless you were Momo Yaoyorozu. Saturdays were normally her date nights with her boyfriend, Kyoya, but this week, he was interning at his brother's hospital. Second and third-year students spent more time outside of school to build more hands-on experience. Kyoya was no exception.
It was the first time since they started dating that Momo couldn't see her big warm teddy bear. Their only means of communication were through texts, but one thing she confirmed was the strength of her heart. The saying, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder," did make Momo feel grateful about her decision. At first glance, two acquaintances who knew next to nothing about each other did not seem like a good idea. Friends should've been the obvious step, but they took it a step further and started dating while improving their friendship.
M – I miss you.
T – I miss you too.
Momo nearly squealed.
T – You okay? Is training going well? You're not working too hard, are you?
Momo never got tired of Kyoya's supportive nature. He always asked about her well-being and made her feel warm inside.
'You are surely getting a kiss when I see you, my sweet teddy bear.'
M - I'm doing great, thanks for asking, but I'm a little anxious. The Provisional Hero License Exams are coming up, and I'm worried I won't pass.
Kyoya continued to impress with the speed of his replies.
'How fast are your fingers?'
T – I know the feeling. It was a bad day for me when I attempted it. The spirits were very displeased that day.
Momo had learned that the spirits were dangerous entities.
M – Did you fail?
T – Almost, I was close, but through some miracle, I made a last-minute save and scored just enough points to pass on the first try. I believe you can do the same.
It was impossible to smile any larger.
M – Thank you, that means a lot. I promise to do my best.
Encouragement was always a welcome thing. She could hear his chanting echoing in her head until his speedy reply broke her thoughts.
'Seriously, how fast are your fingers? What else can you d- no, do not go there, Momo. You are better than that.'
T – How about this? If you pass and get your license, I'll do something special for you.
This piqued Momo's interest.
M – Something special, you say? I take it you're not going to disclose that special something, right?
'Why can I hear you laughing?'
T – You know me well. My brother has been helping me develop something. I think it may be just as good if not better than my head pats.
Momo's eyes almost bulged from their sockets. Was her boyfriend being serious right now? Something better than his famous head pats? His Kitty cat was unquestionably interested now.
M – You can't say something like that and not expect me to become curious.
T – Careful, you know how the saying goes, Kitty. I think you'll like what I have planned, but you have to pass your exam. Sound good?
No way was Momo backing down. She needed to see this surprise with her own eyes. If it was indeed better than the head pats, she had to monopolize it.
M – Challenge accepted, Teddy.
She knew he was laughing.
T – That's what I like to hear. You'll do great; I just know it. I want to continue, but I have to go now. I'll try to wish you a good night.
M – Aww, okay. You be safe; don't overwork yourself either. Love you.
T – I love you too, Kitty. Tell your class hi for me.
Momo hugged her phone and sighed in a dreamy state.
"Are you finally done texting your boyfriend, Momo?"
"AAAAAHHH!"
With the cry of Kitty, the whole dorm grew alert.
"AAAHH, right in my ear!" Jiro caterwauled, distancing herself from further damage.
"Geez, took you long enough to notice us," Mina pouted. Said pout quickly evolved into a massive grin, "So, what's this special something Shu-kun prepared for you?"
Momo went from startled to embarrassed and then to majorly annoyed. Leave it to Mina to eavesdrop on a conversation and expose the details.
"It must suck not having him here when you normally go out on Saturdays."
'I will hurt you.' Momo seethed, cursing herself for not being more aware, but time was just a fleeting thing when it was spent with the guy she loved.
Of course, that didn't go ignored by her classmates. Now that Mina mentioned it, the class did notice their vice-president's routine outings on the weekends. No one made a big deal about it. She was always back before curfew and happier than when she left, but today, it was weird for her to still be here and in her uniform.
'I am going to slap you, Mina.'
Pinky had the biggest smile on her face as some of her classmates became more interested. Others like Bakugo, Shoji, and Tokoyami tuned them out.
If looks could kill, Mina would be six feet under from Momo's withering glare.
"Yes," she decided to come clean, "It does make the day a little lonely, but he's been texting me every chance he gets. As for his surprise, he wouldn't tell me, but since the cat's out of the bag, yes, boys, I am dating Kyoya-kun."
"We know," said all the boys minus an already aware Midoriya, who was just happy for his friend.
"Now now," Momo raised her hand, "One question at a," she paused, "… wait a minute."
"You guys knew?!" the girls questioned.
"Of course," they replied, "Congrats."
"The lucky bastard," said Mineta.
All the girls were stunned. They expected some shouts and questions, but surprisingly, there was none of that. To add more confusion, and to the girls' surprise, Bakugo held out his hand and glanced through his phones as some of the boys, namely, Kirishima, Sero, Mineta, and Kaminari, while grumbling, started taking out their wallets and placed money in the blonde's hand. Once collected, Bakugo put his winnings safely in his pocket.
"Pleasure doing business with you, Extras. Never bet against King Explosion Murder."
The girls shared mixed expressions, but all were shocked by the revelation.
"Okay, we demand answers," Mina huffed, "How did you guys know Momo was going out with someone?"
"And that someone was Shuzenji-san?" Uraraka added.
"The interrogations," said the boys, some putting Mina and Jiro under harsh glares, which caused the girls to whistle as they feigned innocence.
"Who ties people up over a letter?" Kirishima asked back, frowning at Mina.
Like magic, the acid girl vanished and reappeared in a business suit complete with shades to hide her eyes.
"I have ways of getting what I want," she said in a serious tone, "There is no escape from me unless you're Bakugo. Bakugo almost killed me."
"These explosives are rated E for everyone. Next time you pull shit like fucking tying me up, I'll do more than just give you a bad hair day and a couple of marks," snarled the aggressive Pomeranian, letting sparks pop around his hand.
Mina quickly backed away from her squad leader and returned in her school uniform.
"It was necessary though," she retorted.
"Letters are the gateway to a person's mind," the ebony raven tuned back in, "I was fortuitous Asui was kind in her questionings."
"Agreed," Shoji, Koda, and Sato concurred.
"You're welcome, kero, and call me Tsu."
"I wanted to play bad cop, but Mineta and Kaminari are so spineless that it was easy," Jiro sighed.
"I didn't want to be jabbed by your ear jacks," the residential charger of the 1-A retorted.
"Spineless," repeated Jiro.
"It wasn't supposed to be an interrogation," Momo shook her head and clapped her hands together, "You see, someone was leaving letters on my desk, and I thought it was a prank set up by one of you guys, but," she started to get giddy, her sparkles returning more radiant, "turns out, I had a secret admirer."
Aoyama felt challenged. Only Midoriya had proven to be a suitable opponent for the most sparkly, but now, his class's mother figure became yet another rival.
"I got the girls to ask around to see if it was one of you who wrote it, but we concluded that it was someone outside the class," Momo swayed back and forth with her hands behind her back, "and well, you know the rest," she pressed her hands together and leaned her head dreamily on the back of them.
"Kyoya-kun has been so wonderful. Today would normally be our date night, but he is interning at his brother's hospital. He says hi by the way."
"Now answer my question," Mina demanded.
Bakugo let sparks pop and had Mina backing away again. "It was pretty fucking obvious Ponytail was going out with someone with the way she frolicked like a stupid pixie."
At first, blame was leaning towards Izuku since he was the only boy to know, but this was Bakugo. As loud and aggressive he is, he was not stupid by any stretch, and Midoriya wouldn't reveal secrets that weren't his to share.
"It was easy to figure out who if you stopped to think about it. Who else do we see writing something all the time?" Bakugo shrugged, not knowing how painful his arrow pierced through the girls' chests. Nearly a month went by before they figured it out, and here was Bakugo figuring it out in the span of a day.
"He was the only one associated with writing, so it had to be him. He's quiet too, so it was pretty obvious."
"I was confident that Todoroki was the mystery man," Kaminari groaned, "I guess not."
"Yaoyorozu and I are friends," said the half and half student, "If it were someone from our class, I would guess Iida."
"Me?" the class's father figure pointed at himself. "Why do you say that?"
"There's an inside joke between us that you and Yaoyorozu are the parents of 1-A, and Izuku is your well-mannered son."
That got a chuckle from the class.
"With the way you two act, though, and the amount of time your positions put you together, I thought something might be going on. I see I was wrong."
"Does that mean I'm no longer All Night's secret love child, Todoroki?" the green cinnamon roll jabbed back.
"Let's not get crazy," Endeavor's son rounded on the class's leader, "Unless you have a DNA test confirming you and All Might are not father and son, I will continue to see you as his secret love child. The more days go by the more I'm positive I'm right."
"I'm telling you, Todoroki-san, my parents are Inko and Hisashi Midoriya. All Might is just my favorite hero."
"And how do we know Hisashi isn't All Might's real name?" countered the prince of 1-A, "Until you hand me cold, hard evidence, I'm sticking to my guns."
"The nerd's telling the truth, Half and Half. He wishes All Might was related to him. Maybe then he'd be more interesting."
A chorus of retorts erupted from the hero class. It wasn't the outcome she expected, but Momo was happy about the congenial reception. Not that she was worried. Everyone loved Kyoya, and because of this, he solidified himself a spot in Class 1-A's family.
'I have such wonderful friends, Teddy.' she hugged her phone again. 'Please, come back soon. I shine brighter under your affection.'
