Everyone in class 1-A knew that when Mina was involved in anything, it wasn't a good sign. She was known as the Queen of Gossip, the Tea Collector, and the Pink Menace. When she grinned so sweetly, it was sickening, a reality far from the truth. People were terrified of her acute memory of gossip. She was the master of the rumor mill and a master of spreading rumors.
"Alright, Mina, what's this about?" Momo inquired. Yet again, the girls of class 1-A found themselves in the vice president's room, their usual meeting place.
Tooru, Mina's second-in-command, laid out several pictures on the coffee table. The contents of the pictures made the girls, aside from Tsuyu, go wide-eyed. Several of the boys from their class were present in various poses and outfits, some shirtless while working out, or getting dressed while caught in the action.
"Tell me your thoughts," Mina stated, leaning in the chair like a boss, legs crossed, and hands laced on her thigh.
"What?" Jirou gave the pinkette a scrutinizing look.
"Tell me your thoughts on the boys Tooru went out of her way to photograph," the elaboration didn't help any, "I want to know what everyone thinks."
"And why do you want us to do that?" Uraraka spoke up.
"Why are you so focused on the boys, kero?" Tsuyu added.
"Because my dear Tsu-chan, Ochako-chan, I like to admire our boys' hotness. Be honest with me. We do have some hot boys in our class."
Mina flashed her infamous smile while her friends avoided making eye contact, their faces, except the frog girl, flushed red.
"So, let's talk about boys."
Momo raised her hand. "I have a boyfriend though. It would be shameful of me to talk about another guy like that when I'm loyal to another," she smirked. However, Mina never stopped smiling, and it was painfully obvious Tooru was even giddier.
"I figured you'd say that. Tooru," Mina watched as her second-in-command pulled out a photobook and slid her class vice president another picture.
"You'll love this," the invisible girl giggled.
Hesitantly, Momo flipped over the picture. Immediately, her face brightened to crimson. In the photo, a familiar face flashed his pearly razors while his intimidating figure stood tall with his arms crossed. His slicked-back hair, Momo's new kryptonite, made him look more menacing, beastly even, but it only got worse as Momo's eyes stayed fixated on the beautiful temple that was his uncovered body.
'The perfect specimen of a man,' Momo's mind stated as she ran her eyes along the photo, taking in every inch of his sculpted body. 'You're mine. Don't ever forget that.'
Shuzenji Kyoya, Momo's cuddly Teddy bear, was the model in the photo. Momo was drawn to it, imagining her boyfriend giving her that same beastly glare. His towering presence looming over her, Momo felt her body give in to his desires, his demand to sink his teeth into her soft skin, marking her as his. Momo felt her body quiver in unexpected euphoria.
"How," Momo swallowed the lump in her throat, "H-How did you get this?"
"Like it? I was looking for more shirtless pics and stumbled upon Shuzenji-kun. I tried to be sneaky, but he noticed and gave me that look. I snapped the picture and ran, but oh boy, I was breathing heavily."
"Now, Momo," Mina leaned forward, "When were you planning on telling us about you being a beast tamer?"
The onyx-haired beauty quickly composed herself, but her deep blush remained visible.
'Beast tamer? He's a beast alright, but there is no taming that.'
"I-I see nothing that would suggest a thing. This is merely Kyoya-kun teasing Tooru. He likes to do that."
"Oh, he likes teasing you, huh? Sounds like a good night."
"Not bad," Jirou commented.
"Not bad? Jirou, do you not see those abs?" Mina looked appalled. "Abs are my kink, and girl, those things are breathtaking."
"Mine," Momo slammed her hand down.
"Ooh, you really do have some claws," teased the acid spinner.
"They're sharp," Momo hissed, making her nickname proud.
"Rawr," Mina imitated with a little scratch.
Momo ignored Mina's implications and turned towards Tooru.
"Tooru, d-do you have a-any more pictures?"
"Interested?"
"N-No!" Momo squeaked, "I-I just think it's wrong to have pictures of my boyfriend on hand. As Teddy's girlfriend, I must confiscate them and warn him to be more careful."
"Mhm, sure," Mina was less than convinced, "You just want those glorious abs all to yourself."
"He is my boyfriend. Of course, I want to keep his privacy safe."
"He's our Senpai too," Mina and Momo went back and forth.
"Our relationship is more intimate than simple schoolmates."
"He didn't seem to mind Tooru snapping pics. If he's not afraid, neither should you."
"Teddy just needs to be more careful like I said. I will make sure he knows better in the future."
"Knows better about what? How freaking hot he is?"
"Mina!"
"I'm sorry, Momo, I had to say it! You have a hot boyfriend. This whole school is full of hot boys and girls. I can't be the only one who thinks that."
No one bothered to confirm nor deny her declaration.
"Shu-kun is the only second-year we're friends with, but have you guys seen the third-year student, Nejire Hado? Hot damn, she's a babe."
"Who?"
"See? You girls don't branch out. Learn about your seniors!"
"You mean stalk them?" Jirou countered.
Mina slid the music girl a picture of the lightning blonde in her class, but his bespectacled cosplay left something to be desired.
"Jamming Yay?!"
"Looks good, doesn't he?" Alien Queen wiggled her brows. "Not just him; we have Todoroki, Midoriya, Kirishima, Iida, and Bakugo," she lined the table with different pictures.
Tooru gladly went through the pile while the others exhibited much dithering.
"Since he's the odd one out, let's rate our beloved Senpai, shall we?"
Momo didn't like the sound of that. The girl's sickly-sweet smile greeted Momo as the pink alien fidgeted in her seat, excited beyond anything ever witnessed.
"Wait, what?"
"Girls, on a scale of one to ten, how would you rate Shu-kun? Looking at him, what would your score be? Being your boyfriend, what would your score be?"
"Wait a minute," but Momo's protests went ignored.
"Are we basing this on no prior knowledge?" Tooru questioned.
"If you were in Momo's shoes and started receiving love letters from a mysterious admirer, would you follow in her footsteps?"
"Can we not?"
"Jirou, you go first."
"Gee, thanks," the earphone jacks scratched Jirou's chin as she thought about it, "I'll give him an eight for looks, but for being a boyfriend, six."
"Wow."
"Damn."
Jirou scooted away from Momo, whose icy glare would make Todoroki's quirk feel more like a gentle breeze.
"Hold on, let me explain," she held her hands up defensively, "He's pretty damn handsome, but he ruined any chances with me for writing a letter. I'd much prefer he tell me face to face."
"He can't though," Momo hissed.
"Yes, but we didn't know he was mute at the time. As far as we knew, he was just a cool senior of ours that likes to help around the school. He's still a really cool dude, but if someone started leaving me love letters, I'd be creeped out."
"Regardless of what anyone says, I'm going to defend him," Momo folded her arms beneath her bust.
"And that's sweet of you, but let's put that sweetness aside and look at it from a realistic perspective. Those letters were cringey. He even felt bad about it because it made him feel like a stalker, which I honestly thought he was."
"You looked like you enjoyed them though."
Jirou scratched the back of her head. "I mean, they did get better later on, but my point still stands. If we interacted normally, I'd probably give him a chance, but because of the letters, hard pass."
"What a heartbreaker," Tooru shrugged.
"Sorry, Yaomomo, I don't mean to sound harsh, but that's my answer."
"… I can understand your position," she replied.
"My opinion of him has changed, yeah, but I'm still wary. You know what they say about quiet people."
"I bet he's a great listener though," Tooru interjected, "I actually like that a lot in a guy. Get me going, and I can go on and on for hours, and knowing my partner will openly listen to anything I have to say without fail, that means a lot. I'll give him an eight on both fronts because we can only go off Momo's letters. He definitely knows how to make a girl feel special. Plus, he's so creative with all the writing he does that I bet if he could talk, he'd make you melt with just words alone."
"Ten," Mina declared, "Those abs, the predatory stare that just tells you he's ready to sink his teeth into you, and if Momo is to be believed, he's a great cuddle buddy. Cuddles, great abs, and most importantly, head pats every day."
"Ooh, yes!"
"Seven, kero," Tsuyu got a word in. She and Uraraka sat in silence while watching their friends in their heated debate. "I like cuddling a lot, but I have to side with Jirou about the letters. Although I like them more than she does, I agree that not coming to me directly makes it less effective. You guys know I don't have a problem speaking my mind, so I wish my partner would do the same. However, since conventional means of communication is not an option, I would have to consider that. I'm a slow reader, and I understand it's not senpai's fault for not being able to communicate, but that's my biggest rule in a relationship."
"Seven as well," chimed in Uraraka, "But only because of the quietness. I don't mind it; he's shown his love for Momo in other ways, but I believe his loss caused some PTSD. He'll not want to confide in me but support me in any way he can while disregarding his own needs. I don't like that. Even if it's hard, I'd rather my partner communicate with me directly. Other than that, I like how supportive and tentative he is. Every time Momo got a letter, he never failed to check on her first before spilling his heart. Support is my kryptonite."
"But those abs!" Mina cried. None of her friends mentioned the holy temple.
"Yes, Mina, we like the abs," Ochako rubbed the alien girl's back.
"I respect everyone's opinions," Momo let all the statements swirl around in her subconscious. "I'll be honest. Sometimes, I wonder if Teddy is suffering for the reason Ochako mentioned. He doesn't make a big deal about it, but I can't help but feel sorry for him. Not being able to speak must be difficult."
"I'm sure it is," Mina agreed, "but communicating with his eyes is a wonderful gift."
"Yes, I suppose it is," Momo smiled. "His actions speak volumes."
Kyoya didn't need to write a letter to get his words across. It was the simple things he did that stuck out. The head kisses and indomitable hugs were magical. She could hardly remember a day spent with Kyoya where her cheeks weren't sore from smiling. What he couldn't say with his words, he more than made up for it with his actions.
'He's a joyful soul. Combined with that big stupid grin of his, it's impossible to stay mad at him when he teases me.'
The first time they kissed, it was sweet and gentle. When he said he loved her, it moved her greatly, even more knowing he had to hurt himself to say it.
"Ten," Momo stated, "Teddy gets a ten. No bias, he deserves it."
"So sweet," Uraraka cooed.
"Final thoughts then, ladies?" Mina questioned. "Would you date Shu-kun if you were in Momo's position?"
'Why am I allowing this to continue?'
"My answers remain the same," said Jirou. "The love letters turned me off. He's a nice guy, and I can learn to get around his muteness, but he'd just be a friend in my eyes."
"I'd be happy to," the invisible Tooru went next, a small giggle escaping her lips, "If someone wrote me a love letter, I'd like to meet them too. You have to admit, they were beautiful to hear, and we can see from Momo's expressions that reading someone's heart on paper caused love to bloom. The guy is a sweetheart too. I'd go for him. Yes."
"We might steal your boyfriend, vice pres.," Mina stuck her tongue out.
"And I might not come after you with a weapon," there was no hint of mercy in Momo's tone.
"Yeesh, fine, but I'm going to lay it out there. Abso-freaking-lutely. I'd love to have him. He likes to tease. I like to tease. Pranksters gotta stick together. He and I would get into so many schemes. Not to mention that intense passion in his eyes, he's a master wordsmith. Hell, I cried after reading those letters. He's nice, affectionate, sly, and knows how to comfort a girl. Lastly, those abs!"
'I really should stop this, but at least they're being positive about him.'
"Hmm, I might say yes if I was in Momo's heels," Uraraka answered. "I've already mentioned how I love a supportive partner. His nature resonates with me. Knowing I had someone who would help me through every challenge would be icing on the cake. He may tease me, but I know it's genuine love. What relationship doesn't have some teasing?"
Her pink cheeks grew pinker.
"Senpai would make a great partner, but he isn't for me. I think Momo suits him best."
"Thank you, Ochako."
"You gonna say the same thing to Midoriya when you finally confess?" Mina inquired.
Thus, Uraraka was reduced to a stuttering mess.
"As much as I enjoy his presence, I have to say no, kero," Tsuyu pressed her finger to her chin. "It will take more than words to make me fall for someone, and one thing that no one mentioned is that we already know Shuzenji-san. We didn't know he was the poet, but if you already view him as an older brother figure like I do, your feelings might not change. To me, he's still someone I see as an older brother. I can't deny that he'd be a good partner, but I can't see myself falling for him. Momo-chan made a good choice, kero."
"I'm glad you all approve," Momo breathed a sigh of relief. "Teddy and I are still learning, but we've held one another through every step so far. Every day, I learn something new about him. We both share a fondness for literary art. I wouldn't change a thing about him."
Momo went through her photos until she landed on one where the couple took a selfie with Kyoya giving the camera a peace sign and Momo rewarding the psychic with a peck on the cheek.
'Thanks for taking care of me, Teddy. I love you.'
