Snowy Scenery
As they headed north, the warm breeze was slowly replaced by a crisp chill. They were coming upon Jeddo bridge after passing through Sanidin Park when specks of water started to pelt Young Link's cheeks. Daylight had broken a few hours before and the songbirds had begun to sing, however, as he looked ahead, he could clearly see that they were cantering toward a morning rain. And from his experience, birds don't sing in the rain. They'd rather take shelter or fly elsewhere until they've eluded the weather.
He looked to see if the others had noticed it. Link, for one, obviously did, his eyes were directed at it. Impa looked like she was busy in thought, and Zelda...well she seemed somber. He cleared his throat, "Uhm, are we going to find a place to wait the rain out or keep riding?"
Impa looked to the Princess before answering, "We'll keep riding, the tailor we're taking you to is just over this bridge and up the hill."
The bridge itself was wooden and sturdy, however, the young hero couldn't help but get a wee bit queasy after taking a glance over the edge. Not far from the bridge, the dirt path diverged into stone and led up the hill through multiple stone arches as it reached the secluded boutique.
'Dear goddesses,' Young Link thought, 'This isn't going to cost a fortune, right?' His gut feeling predicted sore pockets.
As the full view of the boutique came into view, he could see that it had a stone base, and a wooden second floor. It was a decently sized building that, due to the rain, certainly had its seamstresses inside. There were clothes lines and wash buckets they would have otherwise occupied. After tying their horses underneath a tree, the four of them headed inside.
Sitting at the front desk was a petite woman with dark brown hair that was messily gathered into a bun. She wore rectangular glasses that sat at the edge of her nose, and her attire was plain but comfortable. Young Link wouldn't have believed this was the head stylist if it weren't for the sheer amount of accessories that bordered on being gaudy.
She looked up from a sketch she was working on, her expression changing from bothered to interested as her eyes locked on the princess, "Oh my, if it isn't Zelda herself." The bustling business that was happening in the background halted as Zelda was announced, the pause lasting not longer than two seconds before they quickly resumed. "How can I help you, my dear? You've got quite the party with you."
Zelda smiled, "Well, Ms. Halway," she lightly put her hand on the young hero's shoulder, "We're heading up toward the Tabantha region and this young one is certainly going to need more than just his tunic to withstand the cold." She blinked, "It doesn't need to be your best work, but if it could be done near the end of the day, I'll be eternally grateful."
Young Link watched her stand up from her chair to get a better look at him. Her tone was straightforward and brisk, "Hm, well I can always appreciate a challenge. I accept," Her gaze was focused on him now as she grabbed another piece of paper and started scratching down notes, "You've got a sword and shield, so you're a fighter, no doubt about that. Average stature, cap, boots, belt, moveable, breathable.."
'So this is what the ramblings of a tailor are like...interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about her saying it so loud, though.' He could feel a small blush coming on, but the feeling left as she soon took him to a back room and started taking his measurements.
"You're rather quiet for a kid," she commented as she wrote down the length of his arms, "I wonder if you're trying to take after that knight out there."
"Well, I guess you could say that," He responded, "Also, I don't want to mess up your design process or anything, but I would appreciate it if the snow gear didn't have so many pieces that I need instructions to put it on, if you know what I mean." The times he's gone to wash his tunics and saw the wash women taught him that cleaning multiple, small, nearly insignificant accessories was tiring and annoying.
Ms. Halway chuckled, "Oh don't you worry, I know most fighters prefer their clothes to be simple. Plus we need to work with what we've got, like your belt and shoes for example."
Young Link nodded in agreement, a thought coming to mind, "Back on the knight, is he gonna get something warm too? Or is the armor good for all weather types?"
Her head cocked to either side as she thought about her answer, "Hmm, a thicker shirt and pants should do, but their underclothes are already padded. I suppose I could ask if I have time." She swiftly took his other measurements and shooed him from the dressing room.
He found the rest of his group outside. Now that the weather had let up, he could take in the surroundings. Past the hill were these massive...mushroom shaped formations? Not round mushrooms but the flat-top ones. They varied in height and the size of the tops. It was possibly the most bizarre scenery he had ever seen. "What are those?" He pointed to them.
The other three turned their heads, Impa speaking, "Oh that? That's the Scablands, I believe that area specifically is a bog."
"Yeah, but are they actual mushrooms?"
She giggled, "What? No, they're definitely rocks."
Young Link scratched his head and sat with the rest of them, "Bizarre...I guess you see something new every day."
A few moments of silence passed, Zelda interrupting it with a plan, "So, now that we have a while to sit, I've come up with a proposal as to what we should do next. After the young one's snow clothes are finished, we'll continue on the path and stop at the stables for the night. The next day, we can change into the appropriate wear for the region and make it to the village." She sighed, "If there are no issues, I believe it won't be hard to find the champion to pilot the Divine Beast."
Impa agreed, "Sounds like a plan, princess! Better yet, I think the beast will be completely uncovered by the time we get there."
"Oh cool!" Young Link chimed, "I wonder what this one is like?"
"I think it's best I keep it a surprise then. However I can say it's definitely an animal we know in comparison to Vah Ruta and Vah Naboris."
He was getting ready to ask Link a question when he heard Ms. Halway's familiar voice calling for him. Not wasting much time, he jogged back into the building and found her upstairs, "Yes?"
Her eyes were strictly focused on his tunic. After a few seconds, she walked back to a desk littered with papers and scribbled down more notes. "I need you to try this on really quick. It's not finished yet, but I need to see it on you before I make any changes." She handed him a gray, long sleeved shirt with a white wool collar and thick, dark brown pants.
His eyes quickly spotted a curtain he could change behind. The shirt was comfortable, and the collar luckily wasn't itchy, however the sleeves were too long. The pants were well...pants. 'I mean it's a little weird considering I've been wearing shorts this whole time, but it doesn't feel weird to have them tucked into my boots.' Young Link came out from the curtains and showed the seamstress.
"Well I can tell the sleeves need trimming, but it seems everything else fits fine. You can go after you change."
It was like that for the rest of the day, him going back and forth from his group to the seamstress. The sun read that it was mid-day when he heard her calling for him again. He couldn't help but make a face this time, "Welp, you know I'll be back in a minute." The young hero met Ms. Halway upstairs, hoping it was the last time.
The talented seamstress was smiling, "I'm happy to say that I'm done! I just need you to put it all on of course. If I don't see any changes to be made, you can go."
First was the shirt and pants, next were navy blue arm bracers, and then a double-lined, blue-gray tunic with white Hyrulian embellishments beneath the neckline, a matching cap, and finally dark brown gloves. When Young Link looked in the mirror after putting his belt and equipment on, he was impressed with the work, "Oh wow! This looks great! Plus, I'm already hot after putting it on." He chuckled, "This will work great for snow, thank you so much!"
Ms. Halway's smile got brighter at both the comments and the sight of her completed work, "I'm glad you're happy with it. Let's go show the others."
Zelda and Impa were enthusiastic with their praise whereas Link gave a thumbs up with a slight smile. Bastard.
"You did wonderfully, Ms. Halway!" Zelda gushed.
She dipped her head and folded her hands, "Anything for you my dear!"
Young Link noticed that the princess followed him and the seamstress back inside, 'She's definitely paying for this, isn't she? Ugh, I can't complain, but I don't like people buying me things! Or rather paying them for me!' He swiftly changed back into his normal tunic and saddled back up for the ride to the stables.
Grace's eyes had the same twinkle that Epona's did, "Man, I hate to compare you, but you really do remind me of my old horse," he said as he pet her neck, she snorted in response.
"Who was your old horse?"
Link's voice startled him, "Man, I'm surprised you're not an assassin or something! You're too quiet!" He frowned at the knight's shrug, "Anyways, her name was Epona. She was an amazing and energetic horse, and fiercely loyal too." He continued to pet Grace, "I miss her sometimes."
"Ah, I can see what you mean." He pat his horse, "This lady's name is Twilight, Twi for short."
"Interesting name, I think it fits." He remembered when he first met the horse, "Speaking of which, I hope you treat her extra nice. She's incredibly helpful and smart y'know."
Link crossed his arms, looking at the mare, "Is that so? What, is liking your song uncommon for animals?"
The Hero of Time was baffled at the comment as he got in the saddle, "I'm gonna pretend you meant that in a nice way and say no, that's not why she's smart. I say that because she seems more intuitive than other horses. Like, I got in the arena that one day because she let me on and then helped me up with her nose."
His descendant's eyes widened as he looked between the young hero and his horse. "Well then," he said, getting on, "What's interesting about that is she only lets me ride her." He looked like he would have said more, but he stopped himself once the door to the tailor shop opened and Zelda came out. Impa, who'd been absent at the moment, reappeared as well.
"I surveyed the area, Princess." She reported, "I think the ride to the stable should be fine."
Zelda put her feet in the stirrups, "Good, let's head out then."
Crossing through the Hyrule Ridge allowed Young Link a better look at the so-called "rock formations." They were indeed rock, but he couldn't fathom how they were made or formed.
The group made it to the Tabantha Stable without trouble, just as Impa said. The stablehands were ecstatic to see the Princess in person and house her company for the rest of the day. Right outside of the stable was a long, thin bridge that crossed over a deep chasm and connected to the Tabantha Frontier.
After eating with the group and the staff, Young Link could tell Zelda wanted to go off on her own. 'I get it, to be honest. Really I'm more surprised that I'm not the person who wants to go off and explore at every stop. Then again, I can't rely on the Yiga clan to not beat me up when it's convenient so...yeah.' He found a spot to sit outside the stable and played his ocarina. Before he knew it, Impa appeared next to him, nearly making him drop the precious instrument.
"You might want to work on not getting startled so easily, kid."
He tried not to scowl, "I can't help it when you come out of nowhere and then act like I'm supposed to think that's normal!" He sighed, "So what's up? Are we getting ready to do something?"
"Oh, no. I just heard you playing and remembered I wanted to ask you something."
Young Link held the ocarina closer to him, "Well you already know this is mine, so it's not about that, right?"
Her tone was plain, "I'm just interested in how you know the Old Hylian. That language is older than the castle, so it's odd that someone as young as you can natively speak it."
'Well I guess that means my poor self is older than the castle, huh. How do I explain how I know a language?' He shrugged, "I mean, don't you know a language because you grew up with it? It's just what I learned."
Impa shook her head, sighing, "I guess what I'm trying to say is that there's some suspicion amongst my tribe about you."
"Uhhh, how. You're the only Sheikah person I know."
"Think about it, what kind of people have been around since before the castle?" Her tone was edging on sounding more serious than explanatory.
An eyebrow raised, 'I don't like where this is going.' "That would be the Sheikah, the Yiga in this case, Ganon, the Goddesses. The other ra—"
"Exactly. All I'm trying to say is that some , not all but some, think you're somehow connected to Ganon or his followers because you were speaking that language when we found you."
The Hero of Time could feel the Triforce on his hand itch and his blood start to get hot. He managed his composure, "Hm, well first off, I'm offended. Two, whoever those people are, are trying to cause problems for no reason, and if I didn't have any respect for a tribe that is so close to the Royal Family, I would say that perhaps the people who are lying about me are probably imposters."
Impa crossed her arms, thinking, "That's fair, and for the record, I don't personally believe it. I'll try to convince them otherwise, but I wish you had a better answer than you just grew up with it."
"Me too apparently. But you do recognize how ridiculous that question sounds, right? Like why do all of you speak this New Hylian when the Old Hylian, in my opinion, is more efficient?" He asked, trying to make a point. He could hear the sound of Link's footsteps, 'Ugh he better not come over here and mess this up.'
Zelda's friend nodded, "Right, I don't have much of an answer for that one either."
Young Link took a deep breath, "Thank you. Hopefully those gossipers just get over themselves. Nothing about me is that interesting." He stood.
Impa asked him one last question, "Wait a second, what did you mean by 'Goddesses?'"
He was surprised, "The three Goddesses that created the land and the world? Farore, Nayru, and Din? I don't remember the whole story at the moment, but y'know, them?"
"Interesting," she murmured, "Those names are basically the same ones of the ancient dragons that protect the land. Otherwise the only Goddess we know of is Hylia."
'Oh right, that one.' He didn't know what to say, "Oh yeah. Well, I'm gonna head off for a second. I'm not leaving the stables though." Young Link went inside the stable and eyed a bed he wanted to sleep in for the night. Then he sat at a table and attempted to read a book that was left open.
'Geez, thank goodness I don't have to write this. Reading it gets pretty so-so depending on where we are.' He soon gave up reading it and ran into Link as he went to leave, "Sorry about that." 'Dear Goddesses, I'm doing this far more often than I'd care to admit. I should really watch where I'm going…'
His descendant shrugged, "It's not like you hurt me. Things are okay between you and Impa right?"
Young Link looked away, "Yes, she just told me some unsettling news is all. Apparently, a few of the Sheikah think I'm some Ganon follower because they're all as old as time just like the Old Hylian is. Ridiculous, right?"
Link crossed his arms, looking disappointed, "Very, and for two reasons."
"What's the other one?"
"Your ears," he explained, a quirky smile on his face, "You see, my dad always told me about how only certain Hylians have long ears, and that the ones that do are supposedly from an old family line."
"To be fair, I was surprised that not even the King had longer ears, but I also feel like you're telling me this just to make me feel better."
He scratched his head, "Fine, you got me, but my dad really did tell me that."
"Alright, but if I ever meet him, I'm gonna ask him myself."
Soon the night fell, and they all were asleep in the stable beds. Zelda and Impa shared a bunk bed along with Young Link and his descendant. When the sun rose, they all changed into their warmer clothes, ate breakfast, and departed the stables for Rito Village.
The young hero, while happy to see more of the land, wasn't particularly fond of how cold it got. Unlike the previous area, it was incredibly rocky and there was a blanket of snow covering everything. However, this environment wasn't a winter wonderland by any means, more like the dawn before a long, miserable snowstorm. It was super windy as well, 'If this gets any worse I'm gonna have to take my cap off! I'd rather be bare-headed than lose it to the wind!'
After an hour, the group had slowed their horses from a canter to a trot. Not only was the wind getting worse, but the terrain got rougher as it got rockier. Link was leading the group, the next being Zelda, Young Link, and finally Impa. The Hero of Time was pulled from his focus on his surroundings when Link suddenly stopped.
He looked around Zelda and saw the bridge ahead, 'Holy Hylia that is the thinnest, most unsafe wooden bridge I've ever seen! And it's long too!' His eyes grudgingly looked to the side, finding that, of course, that weak bridge went over an even deeper chasm than the last one did. Young Link started to sweat, "Um, are we walking across?"
They all watched Link quietly get off his horse and carefully lead it by the reins to the other side, "I think it might be best to get the horses over first since riding them over this bridge with it being so windy might spook them."
Zelda quickly got off and handed him Storm's reins, Grace being next, and then Impa's mount. After they were on the other side, Link escorted the princess across, soon motioning for him and Impa to follow.
Young Link took off his cap and slowly made his way across, his ears were freezing, "Geez, did it have to be so windy!? If it were any worse I'd get blown off!"
"You're gonna make it more dreadful for yourself if you keep talking like that," Impa commented.
"I know! This just sort of sucks!" As soon as him and Impa were back on their horses, they continued through a small, winter canyon. Link was surprisingly going slow for some reason. 'I want to call out and ask why, but at the same time, my gut is telling me that we're not too safe here.' As the thought passed, they heard the calls of birds from above, Link kicking into high gear and the horses naturally following suit.
Ahead was the stable, beyond that being the entrance to the village, but between the two were a group of Rito all with their weapons in hand. Link hopped off his horse and shooed her away, the rest doing the same. Zelda stayed behind him as he got his sword and shield out.
The Rito appeared like they were going to shoot at them, but a gruesome horse-monster came out of nowhere and nearly blasted through them. Following that attack were an army of light blue lizalfos.
Young Link did what he knew best and fought off any of them that got close, including fending away any spying Rito that had their sights on them. 'I don't like doing this,' he thought as he slayed a lizalfo and dodged the ice attack of another, 'I know these are monsters, but I don't want to fight the bird people!' He looked over his shoulder and saw another Rito warrior with his bow aimed at his torso. He ran and hid behind a rock, finding that the rock was actually a camouflaged lizalfo! "Ugh! You're kidding me!" He yelled as he plunged his sword into its head, it going limp.
'I would have considered using this as a body shield if it weren't so heavy! I need to find a bow fast and then get one of my own when this is over!' He looked to check if the Rito was still aiming at him, but the tawny colored warrior wasn't there. He hid his surprise and tried to scope out a different spot that provided more cover. 'Man, I know Impa is likely fighting her own battle, but I can't see Link or Zelda anywhere!' To make things worse, it started to snow.
A roar in the near distance told him it was time to move. He sprinted to the back side of the stables, finding and dispatching two more lizalfos. He was getting ready to look for Link and the others when he was suddenly kicked in the back, sending him to his knees. 'Rolling out of the way wouldn't work unless I want a face full of snow,' he instead whipped around and saw it was the same warrior from before. He tried to get back on his feet, but the Rito hopped into the air, grabbed his legs with his feet, and flew off toward the town, Young Link crying out in hopes of getting anyone's attention.
"LET GO OF ME!" He yelled, knowing that it would be a grave mistake to try and swing his sword at its feet. 'Like that will do anything! Wait, who is that?' A blue Rito warrior and who he presumed to be Link were fiercely fighting in an open patch of snow. It looked to be evenly matched, as neither were landing any hits on the other.
An arrow whizzed past his ear, making him cover his head with his shield. The Rito was taking him higher and higher into the air, to the point where he started to feel a little lightheaded, 'Where is this guy taking me!?' Two more arrows missed him. "Hey! This isn't some twisted version of target practice is it!?" Again no response. Despite looking around, he couldn't see where it was coming from. There were no Ritos trailing him, and none of the lizalfos he saw had any weapons aside from a tree branch.
He heard the roar from earlier again, his eyes narrowing, ' NO WAY.' Knowing it wasn't a good idea, he started squirming around. 'I don't know what the plan is, but he wouldn't drop me right?' His gimmick to get the warrior to land faster lasted for another minute before his shield guarded head smacked the ledge of a cliff. His blood, if not hot already from the battle, was boiling soon after that. "That's it!" He howled, finally seeing the warrior's eyes meet his, "When we land, I'm kicking your ass!"
Following the threat he made, the tawny warrior dropped him from his grasp, Young Link stabilizing himself in the air despite his heart beating a million times a minute. He could see that where the Rito dropped him would have him land in the frozen lake, but there was a long way to go and he could swear that there were still arrows flying in his direction. 'I could try to steer myself differently, but I just can't see anything with this snow!' Before he could think of anything else, a different Rito warrior came out of nowhere and snatched him from the air. This wasn't another air trip as he quickly was dumped in the snow and could hear the sound of Link grunting as he was dodging that other warrior's attacks.
Cold and hurt from the fall, the young hero still had a fighting spirit, but he couldn't wait for this to end! He took shelter in the nearby bushes, finding 3 spare arrows and a slightly damaged bow. He shot one at a lizalfo that was running to interrupt Link's fight, and intentionally missed when he shot at one of the Rito warriors that were flocking near him as a warning shot. He was getting ready to let loose his last arrow when Zelda came running on scene and put herself between Link and that blue Rito. For her safety Young Link had his aim on him.
"Stop! Stop it!" She yelled, her face red from the cold, "The threat to the village is gone! There's no need to fight each other!"
The Hero of Time put down the bow and arrow and came out of the bushes, rushing to Link's side. Both Link and the warrior were panting. Zelda grabbed him when got there, "Where have you been!? Me and Impa were searching for you."
Young Link realized he was both out of breath and nearly out of his mind. He was still lightheaded from the flight and fall, and his arm muscles shook from the cold but also from him making his aim be perfectly still. All he could do was look tiredly at the blue Rito, which made Zelda's expression even angrier.
"We are discussing this at once!" She turned around and practically dragged Link and Young Link to the village.
Once in front of a fire, the young hero could feel his sanity coming back. His body ached and the three-hour trip that led them there was weighing on him, so he plopped on his side next to Link, shivering from time to time. 'I can tell he wants to talk to me, but I would be lying if I really thought there was zero hostility coming from us sitting here.'
The both of them could hear Zelda yelling at someone. It wasn't whoever that blue one was, she would sound way more mad, but maybe it was the leader who ended up having poor control over the situation. 'I hope she doesn't come do that to us next,' he thought, looking up at Link. He cleared his throat, "So uh, what was that blue, horse-monster-thing? And what happened to it?" He asked.
His descendant blinked, "I can for sure tell you it was a lynel, but I'm assuming they dealt with it." His tone was soft and quiet, "I was trying to fend it off, but then it got distracted by something and that blue guy started shooting at me like I'm his mortal enemy." He sighed and sat back on his hands, "In that case, what happened to you? You look really roughed up for it being lizalfos."
"What if I said I was probably the distraction?"
"Excuse me," Link's eyes looked violent, "What ."
"This guy must have been thinking on his own or took cues from that blue guy to go after the Hylians, because he had been spying on me, and then when I went to take cover from one spot to another, he kicked me down from behind, grabbed me by the feet and flew off with me!" Link's face was shocked, "I know right! I had no idea where this guy was taking me, and with the snow and everything it made it hard to see. Plus, I kept getting shot at by something, which I now guess was the lynel-thing. At one point I started squirming so he might put me down, the damn guy tried to knock my head into a cliff instead! Bastard was lucky I was guarding it with my shield to protect it from the arrow-fire."
Young Link sighed, looking back at the fire, "Then I told him I'd kick his ass and he dropped me from super high in the air, and if some other guy didn't catch me and then drop me into the snow, I would've landed in the frozen lake around the town. Anyways, I'm really sore, and, as much as I'm used to this type of stuff, I want it to be over already." He could feel that his hair was starting to dry, which gave him hope that he might get warmer soon.
Not long after their conversation ended, Princess Zelda came down the steps with Impa at her side. The air got tense as she walked in and sat down by the fire. 'It's so quiet I can hear myself breathing,' the young hero thought, keeping his eyes down.
A few moments of silence passed before Zelda cleared her throat, her gaze set at Link who looked her in the eye, "Link. What happened to make Revali start fighting you?"
He explained the lynel situation and how Revali, the name of the blue guy, came out of nowhere.
"What did a lynel of all things get distracted by?" she asked, concerned.
'I know Link did not just look at me,' Young Link closed his eyes, trying to keep his composure.
"Are you serious, Link? The young one somehow got its attention? How?"
He sat up, "Well be prepared to be more annoyed at the warriors because I wouldn't say what they did was morally right." He explained his side of the story and watched Zelda's face get as red as it was out in the snow when she came to stop the battle. Impa looked disgusted.
"I-I just can't believe one of them would do something like that." She angrily muttered, "I can hardly understand just one knight by himself, but a child of all things!"
Impa tried to calm her down, "I think that one was either genuinely a bad egg or his way of thinking somehow made that make sense."
That Revali guy and the tawny warrior from earlier came down the steps, them both getting a cold stare from the Princess, "Whoa hold on there Princess, I came to apologize," Revali defensively responded. His tone had a tang of sass in it. He looked directly at Link, the two of them locking eyes, "I, Revali, apologize for sparring you in the middle of our efforts to get rid of the monsters. You don't appear hurt, so I'm impressed."
Young Link's jaw nearly dropped, 'Who does this guy think he is!? This is THE hero he's talking to!' He brought his attention back to the other Rito, "What about you? Why did you do all that?"
To his satisfaction he saw that this guy had actual humility on his face and a tone that conveyed it, "Well, I'd first like to say that I'm incredibly sorry for doing that. Because of the snow, I genuinely had no idea I picked up a child until I realized you were shouting at me, and then of course, because of my shock, I dropped you."
He coarsely sighed, "Well I accept your apology and take back what I said about kicking your ass."
The warrior chuckled, the rest, except for Link, looking surprised, "Oh! That's what you said! I knew it was something kind of ugly, but all the wind messed up my hearing. In any case," he brought a bow from behind his back, "I saw a bit of your sharp shooting, so the other part of my apology is a bow. Granted, it's one the younglings use to train, but I figured you'd do good with it regardless."
'Oh wow, suddenly I feel better,' He perked up and accepted the gift, "Well...thank you. What's it called?"
"It's a swallow bow. It's wooden, but it should last you awhile."
Revali looked fed up with the wholesome apology, "Well, we've had our apologies. We'll let you get situated and see why you're actually here later." The two of them flew off.
Young Link set down the bow and slowly looked at Zelda, "P-Please don't tell me the champion is him."
Zelda numbly nodded her head.
He dramatically buried his head into Link's lap, "I'm genuinely upset. I don't even care if he's good, his personality is unbearable, and he's said like four things." 'Even worse, Link is gonna have to put up with this guy's crap!'
Impa shrugged, "Well, what's the worst that can happen? Also, despite the storm earlier, I heavily suggest we go take a look at this Divine Beast."
"Maybe later, only because the young one surely needs some rest after what happened."
