Book One: Chapter Seventeen

[Tag]

Maneuvering through a crowd of people, Qiqi skids to a halt. Landing on the ground behind her, Relon stands as static crackles around him. From around the area, people gaze at the two.

"Hehe, you can't run forever Qiqi!" He blitzes forward.

"I'm winning this time, big brother!" She smiles, slamming a hand to the ground.

From it, a dome of ice forms making Relon land on it to bounce off as it recedes into the ground.

"No fair, using your elemental powers!"

"You're using them!" She pouts to point his way.

"Ha, bold of you to assume I know how." He gives a sly smirk to lunge at her.

Stunned by the sudden action for only a moment, Qiqi launches off of an ice spike onto the roof of a nearby stall.

"Tch, I hate to say it but she has more skill over her powers." He mumbles while twitching an eye.

About to take off, the sound of giggling and chatter resound, gaining the two's attention.

"Awe, they're having such fun." One woman says.

"I remember when we used to do that." A couple comments fondly.

"It's nice seeing Qiqi happy once again." An elderly woman comments with a smile.

"Yeah. It's good to see Relon in high spirits as well! It's good to have him back." A man, most likely her son, comments.

"Go, Qiqi!" A young boy roots.

"Don't let him catch you!" A girl of equal age next to him hollers.

"Whoa…" Relon sounds as the siblings look to the people before back to one another with a grin. "Now I have to win!"

"Nuh-uh, we're winning!" She puffs out her chest with hands raised.

"We'll just have to- Wait. We?" He tilts his head for a figure to fly low whipping up a brief gust of air snatching her to Relon's shock. "Don't tell me…!"

"Sorry, Relon, if you want her you'll have to catch us!" Sara chides with a wide grin as they fly further into the city.

"That is so unfair." He chuckles.

"Well, that is how you two have often acted towards one another." Turning around, he's met with Miko strolling toward him. "Children will be children after all."

"There you go again." Another chuckle escapes him. "I'll be sure to give you another petting session when we get the chance as my way of apologizing." He winks taking off.

In doing so, he became unaware of the soft pink coloration adorned on the woman's cheeks.

Stopping with a grip against the railing, his eyes go to the two soaring in the sky.

"How on Teyvat am I going to get up there?"

You are cryo as well, remember?

"Well, yeah, but I don't exactly know how to use it." He says jumping down the long flight of stairs and landing with a thud to run off

Then your current capabilities as opposed to when exerting my power may be similar to my skills at cooking.

"Which would be?"

Nonexistent.

Pausing with a skid on his heel, he looks up with a inquisitive brow.

"Wait. You can't cook?"

Oh, heavens no.

"Huh. I guess that makes sense since you're an archon. You can just have your personal chefs cook what you want." He muses departing once more

For a time, I did.

"You stopped? How come?"

I found a personal cook.

"Hu Tao?"

Dear me, no. Just… no.

"What's wrong? Is her cooking bad or something?"

Bad… is too kind of a word for her, erm, "concoctions." I was referring to yourself.

"That bad, huh?"

Words cannot describe the evil that taints a dish conjured by that girl. Her personality is jubilant but her food is not. That is how I would describe the two.

"I see." An audible breath escapes him. "I do like cooking. Hmm. I hope my skills in the kitchen haven't dulled."

Your skills should remain the same as in combat. Instinctive, no?

"Not exactly. Chopping and marinating stuff for example, yes, but things like baking and how much time it takes for other ingredients to prep and cook are pure memorization. Something I kinda need to remember." He chides jumping onto a roof as he takes sight of the two. "Hmm…"

What do you have in mind?

"See that large tree in the middle of that village?"

Yes.

"I'm gonna use the momentum from our speed to propel us into the air."

There is no clear path with the branches.

"Going fast increases our reaction time, right?"

Yes, but are you taking into account the possible damage from such a height?

"Which will be how much?"

Not… much. She sighs.

"I figured." He launches off. "Besides, if I miss then I'm sure Sara will do one of two things."

Which would be?

"Either she'll soar to catch me or she'll inspect my downed form. Either way, I'll have an opportunity to tag her or Qiqi. And if she doesn't have a shred of care, then we just keep on chasing."

Hmm, you're planning this far in advance should you fail…

"Is that odd? I wouldn't really call that last comment 'planning' though."

No. That is very you. She smiles.

"... Good to hear." He notes, static coursing once more as his speed increases.

Soon, all is but a blur once more as the luscious green landscape becomes unrecognizable. In seconds, he reaches the base planting his foot on the bark before propelling upwards. Eyes moving in tandem with his hands, Relon is but a purple bolt resembling that of an ornament climbing its way back to the top. Landing on the tip in a crouched position, his eyes meet Sara's and Qiqi's before he launches off.

It takes only a moment for both to react but it's too late. Shifting to the side, her wrist is grabbed by Relon's as they're dragged through the air.

"Gotcha!" He shouts against the rushing draft.

Nearing the ground, both he and Qiqi release themselves as all three right themselves squaring off.

"Not bad." Sara begins receding her wings for Relon and Qiqi to furrow their brows. "Leave it to you to do something as reckless as that."

"Would you have caught me if I missed?"

"No. And I wouldn't have needed to inspect you for injuries. You're the Almighty Shogun after all."

"Ouch. I don't know how to feel about that one." He chuckles, Qiqi scooting closer to him.

"You should feel honored." A spark emanates around her. "It shows I care."

"Heh, I don't know whether to feel honored to the point of my heart skipping a beat or terrified from what a woman with the ability to fly can do."

"Why not both?" She smiles.

"There are so many reasons why." He grins, Qiqi hopping onto his back.

"Oh well." She turns away for Relon to gain a curious look.

"Step back!" Qiqi exclaims, his body obeying by jumping away as a bolt strikes the position where Sara once stood.

In their previous place, Sara following through with an attempted grab to sprout her wings zooming just off the ground. Pivoting on his heel, electricity sparking, he can only warn his sister before she feels a sudden surge of acceleration.

"Hang on!" Kicking off the ground, he rotates to speed off with Sara in hot pursuit.

Rushing along the path with the familiar forest in sight, both eyes widen at a single arrow lodged in the ground ahead of them. A purple shimmer becoming brighter and brighter. Turning around, Relon's eye twitches in irritation at two more arrows. Looking up to one Sara Kujou waving with a bow in hand, he can only utter. "I hate you" before three pulses of static erupt.

Conjuring a wall of ice, both Lucinances are knocked off the small cliff with Relon righting himself as Qiqi's hands shoot a flurry of ice freezing the water they now stand on.

"Has anyone told you you fight dirty?" Relon growls as the woman lands atop the small cliff. "Who even taught you how to act like that?"

"You did." She quips with crossed arms retaining her smile of entertainment. "Believe it or not, our actions were once reversed." She says stepping forward to land on the shore.

"I find that hard to believe yet easy at the same time." He sighs slowly inching away.

"You don't remember how to manage on ice, do you?"

"... Maybe."

"You always did suck at lying."

"In my defense, lying is bad and if I started lying, then so would Qiqi and that's not very role model-like."

"Mhmm. Are you done?""

"Oh, just come at us already." He groans, Sara complying with a flap of her wings. "Qiqi, wall!" He shouts, his sister extending her hands past his head for a wall of ice to shoot up between the two. Coming to a halt inches away, Sara narrows as Relon waves his fingers. "Bye!" He launches both feet off the wall as Qiqi fires ice at their feet.

Flying around the already melting ice wall, Sara returns to her pursuit. Sliding against the ice, Relon looks over his eyes at the nearing woman.

"Can you make a ramp?" He quickly asks as they near the opening towards the sea to receive a nod. "Good. Now!" Adjusting as his feet draw closer to himself, they turn 180 degrees narrowly missing Sara's fingers.

Launching off a ramp and back onto the path, Relon speeds off.

"Tch!" Sara clicks, righting her course before with a mighty flap she barrels towards them.

"God, she's relentless!"

You seem to be having a good time nonetheless.

Of course. This is fun!

Chinju Forest

A blur of lightning followed by a black silhouette maneuver through the forest. Spiraling around and around and around a wide tree, the two figures blur parallel through the forest. Soon, electricity mixed with frost clash. As quick as a tide, their positioning changes with one collision after another. Each tree becoming only a fading image as are the blue lights from the flowers. In sync, both burst out of the forest on the familiar path towards the equally familiar estate. Relon at an electrified sprint and Sara overhead with a mighty flap.

"This isn't fun anymore!"

"Don't get mad just because you're both it!" Sara calls as she reaches the estate before continuing further up the mountain.

"Grr, this woman." He growls sliding in front of the confused guards to kick off.

"Hup!" Qiqi sounds, Relon instinctively crouching down to jump off of a stalagmite over the cliff. "You doing okay, sis?"

"Yup! We need to beat Sara!"

"Feels like a race at this point!" He comments while eyeing the shrine.

"Then I don't wanna lose!" She says, gripping him tightly.

"Good. Because neither do I! Let's win this, Qiqi!"

"Right!"

Launching towards the side of the mountain, Qiqi creates a platform for Relon to immediately jump off of. Ahead, his eyes narrow.

"Floating rocks?" Quickly dismissing the thought, he continues, Relon lands to run across the small grassy terrain before jumping off another ice spire.

Hearing an odd sound, Sara looks back down at the sight of a Relon jumping off of large ice spikes. Her childish smile remains as a chuckle releases.

"You two never know when to give up!" She calls out.

"We're not quitting until you're it, Sara!"

"We're gonna tag you!"

"Come on and try!" She responds with a mighty flap higher towards the shrine. "Things won't go like they did back then." She mutters.

Ei, can you give me a boost directly to my feet? He asks nearing another platform.

How much would you prefer? She responds as he touches down.

"A whole lot!" He snaps his gaze up, the coursing energy suddenly energizing him to greater levels as static arcs from his body against the mountainside and levitating land masses. "Qiqi…" He grins, eyes locking once more unto Sara. "Hang on!" He shouts, Qiqi gripping for dear life as he lunges destroying their platform in the process.

Hearing the ear shattering eruption, Sara snaps back in time to see a millisecond of the two's faces before she's tackled into the air.

"Gah!"

"Tag…!" Relon begins, the three taking sight of the nearing shrine.

Reacting quickly, Sara swings a hand for Qiqi to dodge it.

"Tch, stay still Qiqi!" She growls missing the girl with every attempt.

"You're…!" He continues, his eyes taking in the nearing tree.

"Darn it!" Sara curses.

BOOM!

"Oof/Ugh!"

Falling through the tree's crown, leaves and branches slowing his fall, Relon quickly comes close to the ground for his rear to meet the stairs.

"Ouch!" He winces.

Hearing rustling, he looks up instinctively holding out his arms to catch Sara already righting herself to land in his arms.

"Whoa!" She blinks to take sight of her situation. "Thanks."

Unable to say anything as another rustle sounds above as Qiqi comes flipping to land atop Sara.

"Oof!"

"Yo okay, Qiqi?" Both ask, wincing from the added weight.

"Yeah." She nods in a slight daze, her hands moving to touch Relon and Sara. "Because you're both it." She smiles, the two blinking in confusion for Relon widen his eyes first as a facepalm sounds.

"The tree." He sighs, the mention clicking in Sara's head as she sighs.

"During the scrimmage just now, I tagged her."

"And she just tagged us back. The winner; Qiqi." He chuckles as Qiqi hops off of Sara to the bottom of the few stairs.

Landing, she leans up to turn back.

"What's up?"

"Tired…" She answers with a yawn walking away.

"Qiqi, where are-"

"Don't worry. She's heading into her room in the main building." Sara answers, watching the young girl reach for the doorknob before disappearing inside.

"I see." He hums to glance at the woman still in his arms, her own wrapped around his neck. "Comfortable?" He asks, her golden orbs meeting his red as instead of the expected awkwardice, a simple nod comes.

"Yes." She murmurs, getting off to sit next to him. "Though I am too exhausted to hear complaints from the others should they see us in such a state." She states leaning her head up

"Ahaha, I guess you're right about that." He responds in a low tone, a calm silence passing through.

Looking to the sun, Sara eyes the descending petals. Eyes to the ground, Relon's eyes unconsciously count each that lands.

"Looks like we both lost." Sara muses.

"Yeah, guess so. "Good game, Sara."

Looking over, she takes sight of his hand extended slightly. Lifting her own, she drops it expecting to pass his own with the causal sound that comes from every high-five. The clap comes but her hand does not follow through. Furrowing in slight confusion, she takes sight of her hand gently held by his own. Her eyes go slighter wider as his thumb messes with her ring finger.

"Gotcha."

Vision

"State your name."

"Relon Lucinance. And yours? I believe it's only fair to know the name of the officer trying to arrest us."

"Sara. Sara Kujou."

"Alright then, Sara. How about a challenge. If I win, you pardon us. If not, I'll comply."

"What sort of challenge?"

"A simple game of tag." He grins.

"Tch! Using such underhanded methods! Despicable!" She grows swatting away dust.

"I'm playing to win not just for myself but for my sister and friends as well! I'll do whatever it takes!"

The world begins to blur before it becomes crystal clear once more.

"Much is still in need of preparation. Should one of the nations decide to attack, it can only be by ship." Sara notes seated next to Relon at a table with various papers scattered about.

"Unless they have someone that can teleport or something close to it." He hums looking over some documents.

"That would be troublesome. Hmm. My own is but a short distance. The Almighty Shogun is the only one I know of that can teleport great distances."

"We'll need our forces vigilant both outside and inside the islands. A well placed surprise attack can mean the death of us."

"Quite blunt today, aren't you?" Sara notes looking at him.

"Am I? Sorry, I didn't notice. Got a lot on my mind as of late."

"... Follow me." She stands departing from the room.

"Huh? Sara? Where are you going?"

Raising a curious brow, he's answered with a silent look. One Relon has come to understand all too well. Complying, he follows out the room into a living area where Sara walks past a table before seating herself on a couch. Locking eyes with him, she pats her lap leaving Relon only to give a subtle breath of relief. Seating himself along the furniture, his head rests atop her lap. The comfort of her gentle hand brushing against his hair alleviates the visible stress.

"Thanks, Sara."

"No need for thanks. I'm your fiancé. Caring for you is just one of my duties. Though it would help if you talked about what goes on in that head of yours."

"Haha. I'll try to do that more, my dear."

"Good. That's all I ask."

In comfort, a lull of silence fills the room. His eyes take sight of the brief glimpses of a ring attached to her finger. Each stroke retaining the relieved smile across his face.

Present

Blinking back into reality, his eyes take in Sara's. Her once stunned demeanor now replaced with the usual stoic one though he can tell there's something more below the surface. A faint sense of familiarity, nostalgia even.

"I'm guessing you had another vision." She mutters.

Taking in her words, he can only nod. A sense of lostness evident in his eyes.

"Sara…"

"Are you okay?" The brisk touch of her hand gripping his in worry snapping him from his stupor.

"I… I honestly don't know." A low chortle escapes as he casts his gaze forward to the ground.

The Relon of the past and present are two different people. Their experiences are as different as night and day. To him, he felt like this was a simple truth but compared to how everyone acted it was as though they were one of the same. His past self was clearly in love with Sara but his relationships with the others left many questions filling the very air around himself. Between this world and his own mindscape Ei noted as a "plane" of sorts, he couldn't make heads or tails of it all. Was he truly in a polyamorous relationship? Was Sara truly his first love or was it someone else? Who truly was Shenhe? What were his honest feelings in regards to Ganyu as opposed to the other girls?

Was it right to reciprocate the fond feelings of care and compassion he had done thus far? Was there guilt behind such actions? No. Was there nothing at all that came from doing such? Also no. Nuzzling Hu Tao's cheek, returning the endearing embraces he was met with, explaining himself before each and every electro, even his time with Miko in the bath; it all just felt… odd. As if he was okay to do such things, only for a portion of his body to be hesitant if not outright demand that he stops. Was that the last fiber of his past self that remained? Did it want control back? Was that a possibility?

"Come here." She mutters, his inner thoughts snapped away as he feels her gentle touch ease him down to rest atop her lap.

"S-Sara?"

"You're the same as back then. Reckless and stubborn. Even Qiqi was able to pickup on it."

"... You're not going to ask? About the vision?"

"And you're not going to ask about our relationship?" Her words cause his eyes to snap back to her smiling face disregarding her harsh tone. "I'm your fiance, aren't I? Caring for you is but one of my duties. Even if you can't remember what we've been through, I can."

Taken aback, he can only look forward once more as new thoughts enter his mind.

"So you still think of us as…" He pauses, that subtle feeling stirring in his stomach as his hands scrunch in discomfort.

"I do. What about yourself?"

"I… don't know. I want to but there's still another part that feels like I'm holding myself back…" He explains sitting back up to furrow at the troublesome thoughts.

"Relon."

"Yeah?"

"What are your current thoughts? Here and now, what's going on through that mind of yours?" She requests turning fully to face in awaiting an answer.

Blinking for a moment as her new words process, he awkwardly copies her gesture.

"The me of the past considers everyone his loved ones. I nearly went out of my way to think of Ei as such and to an extent. Yet, even now, I can't bring myself to call any of you that. This sense of familiarity resonating within, this warmth in being surrounded within the safety of such love and kindness. How could mere strangers exude such and make me feel this way? The memories in regards to the Relon of the past may be gone, but the feelings he has for each and every one remain true. I think my mind is still tending to whether I have the right to accept such niceties…"

"I see." She muses, rising to her feet waltzing the few steps to halt. "Tell me this now." She turns to face him, her kind visage remaining poised on the lost teen. "How many Relon Lucinances are there?"

"Obviously only on-" Halting mid sentence, his eyes widen ever so much more as the tengu warrior's lips arch upwards.

Walking to him, she extends a hand for Relon to look at it dumbly before accepting as he's pulled to his feet.

"Just as there is only one of Qiqi, one of Lady Miko, and one of myself, there is only one of you." She begins discarding her glove to reveal her porcelain skin with a lone ring on her finger. "Relon Lucinance was the man who gave me this ring, he is the older brother to Qiqi, he's the only one aside from a few others who can tame our 'chaotic' family. Regardless of what point in time you discern yourself from another, you're still Relon Lucinance. My love." Before he can respond, she closes the distance. A sudden muffle can only be sounded out as their lips meet for mere seconds before they part. "Now then, Almighty Shogun, our meeting awaits." She motions with her head. "We can discuss us later."

Watching as she releases her ever gentle hold to walk into the shrine, Relon can only stare in disbelief. The brisk touch of his own finger across his lips denotes any falsehood at this being an illusion. Feeling a gentle breeze come through, the shaking tree behind him pulls the young man from his daze.

"There's only one me, huh?" He muses, that tinge in his chest no longer present as a soft smile of his own meets the structure of nature. "Seems I have a lot to relearn after all." His words that of acceptance as he refocuses on the shrine building before him wide open.

Feeling the anticipation swirl, his hands tighten at his sides.

Are you prepared?

"Yeah. I am now." Stepping forward, he enters.

AndyKurosaki98: Boob size? nah man, Thighs are nicer, you can have lap pillows with those, pretty sure Ganyu confirmed that chapters ago.

Relon slowly getting his memories, and yeah, I imagined the whole fiancé thing was gonna come up sooner or later, that's a can of worms wanting to be opened.

And sibling shenanigans, I just love those, reminds me of my cousins, and just seeing Sara joining in the fun makes me smile for some reason.

Hell yeeeeeaaaaaahhhh. Lap pillows for days in this fic lol. In a sense, there's a lot of questions still not exactly "clear" in regards to Relon's relationship with Sara and the girls so I want to tackle the main points one at a time. This chapter focusing on the simple acceptance regarding the possibility of exhibiting such glee. And sibling fun after being separated for a year is just needed! Sara's being just makes the fun that much better haha.
