It was not an easy task to get Rin and Izumi away from one another. Kohaku appealed to his wife citing he wanted to take her to the place they had spent their wedding night together, which was not a lie.

Leaving Hisashi with Rin and Sesshomaru in the village he led her to the large hollowed out tree that opened up at the top. It was just as lovely as she remembered with the soft moss and luminescent fungi.

Turning to look around she smiled as she reached out for Kohaku whom stood by the entrance watching her. Taking her hand in his he brought it to his lips and kissed her lightly.

"Beautiful girl." He said softly. Pulling her in an embrace he held her tightly tucking her head under his chin. Moving his hands to her front he held either side of her swollen stomach and rubbed gently towards her front.

"Our son is strong." Izu whispered. Taking a deep breath Kohaku reached back around her to untie her obi and slipped off her outer robe. Opening up her kimono he knelt down in front of her.

"Izu, do you think that if a person has committed crimes in the past it can come back to affect them later on as a punishment?" He asked suddenly looking up at her.

"What are you talking about Kohaku?" Untying his hair she ran her fingers through it scratching lightly at his scalp.

"I did so many terrible things but I have tried to make up for it, move on from it all. Bad things keep happening to you, you were hurt and now with what Jin did…"

"No. I believe that things just happen. It isn't a punishment or fate it just is." She interjected. "You are talking about when you were under Narakus control?"

Nodding he rested his forehead against her stomach.

"I don't know if I'll ever be able to tell you everything but I hurt a lot of people. When are you sick or hurt it reminds me…I can see it as if it just happened. Then I get lost and can't find my way back."

Wrapping his arms around her tightly she grazed her claws across his neck and head to soothe him. "I want to stay here with you, with our children…I'm trying so hard…"

"Sweet boy, it's over. We are fine. You were there for everyone making sure we were safe and cared for. You're amazing Kohaku." Izumi nearly choked out. She hated to see him suffer as his mind relentlessly tortured him.

Taking his face in her hands she knelt down in front of him placing his hands on her hardened abdomen. "We are here with you, you are here with us. None of us are going anywhere."

Placing her forehead to his he closed his eyes tightly and sniffled as she rubbed her nose against him. Under his hand he felt the small shift and smiled.

"Our son is strong." He repeated feeling another push on his hand.

"Just like his father." Kissing his lips chastely he sighed out feeling more at ease. "Lie down with me. Rest. Lets enjoy this beautiful moment together."

"Yes love." Lying on his side he cuddled against her as she laid on her back to look up at the exposed night sky. Smiling as he kissed at her neck and jaw while he ran his hand across her stomach.

Taking his free hand she entwined her fingers with his never wanting to let him go.

Rin sat in Kaedes hut. Having finished nursing Hotaru she took Hisashi to feed him as well. Kagome sat with them and she visibly stared as Rin held Hisashi to her breast as he suckled

Glancing up at her she caught her friends eye.

"Is everything alright Kagome?" She asked curiously.

"Yeah it's just, it looks odd is all to see you nursing him." She said looking away.

"Izu feeds Hotaru sometimes as well." Looking down at Hisashi she stroked his soft fur as he made his small noises when he was eating.

"Yeah but she does it when she looks like a human." Kagome stated.

"Not always. Izumi prefers to nurse in her natural form, it is more comfortable for her." Rin said.

"So, a dog." The way she said it made Rin uneasy.

"Yes. Kagome, I don't understand why you seem so put out by this. Inuyasha is Lord Sesshomarus brother. He is a dog demon as well, that is what they are."

"But Inuyasha's half human so he's not really." She stated.

"But he is." Staring at her now Rin was confused. "You want to have a baby with him. Your child could come out looking more like Hisashi than you. Then what would you do?"

"That won't happen. I'm a full human and Inuyasha is a half-breed so our kid will be mostly human. I'm sorry Rin, it's just weird with you and Izumi…the whole situation." Kagome said standing to leave. "Thank you for your help."

Her words stung Rin right in her heart. Swallowing hard she gave a small nod. "You are welcome Kagome."

Hearing her leave she held Hisashi to her more tightly. Closing her eyes she couldn't wait to get home.

"I missed you baby boy. So much." Rin coo'd to him softly as he finished nursing. Moving his face away from her slightly he licked at his lips yawning. "Never think that I don't love you with all of my heart."

Kissing his forehead she laid him down next to Hotaru placing her blanket over them both. They cuddled in to one another settling down to sleep both sniffing the other out.

Hisashi laid his head on Hotarus while she took one of his ears and chewed it, apparently it had become her favorite thing to do since being reunited with her brother.

"Rin." Glancing to the door she saw Sesshomaru standing in the hut sitting down against the wall. "Kaede apologizes but she had to leave for another village."

"That's fine." Rin looked back to their children. "I am feeling much better and think I am well enough to make the trek home tomorrow."

"What is troubling you?" Closing her eyes she felt her lips twitch up in a small smirk. There was never anyway she could hide her emotions from him. He always saw her.

"Kagome said some things to me before she went out about Hisashi and my relationship with Izumi, mostly I think because of the closeness we share. I was nursing Hisashi and she began to act oddly, she said it was weird. The fact that Izu cares for Hotaru in her true form as well, Kagome just thinks it strange."

"It is not normal Rin for humans and demons to live together let alone raise their young together as we are. There will be people who simply do not understand and sometimes it is the ones who are closest to you."

"I'm not naive or stupid, I think sometimes Kagome thinks I am or maybe still a child where she has to explain things to me. Either way it bothered me what she said." Turning back towards Sesshomaru she furrowed her brow. "I don't think she really accepts Inuyasha as being half demon."

"Explain."

"She wants to have a child with him but absolutely refuted the idea when I suggested that theirs could potentially look like Hisashi. Kagome was completely against it and that worries me if she were to have a child that was not what she imagined then she would refuse it."

"Then that is on them." Sesshomaru said. "Inuyasha will figure it out, whatever may happen."

"I suppose so." She relented. Holding out her hand to him he stood removing his armor and swords. Lying down together with the pups between them Rin fell asleep to her husband gently stroking her hair.
