A/N: So apparently I now have two chapters of the same name, last chapter and one I wrote out months ago, all concerning naming one of the pups. At this rate I'm just going to take it and give myself a pat on the back for keeping up with naming all of these.
I want to introduce our new story arc! Exciting. I have so many that I have thought up and discarded or have to wait to introduce, which leads to more ideas.
Hopefully this is a good one.
Enjoy!
Izumi found herself standing in the hall of the east, her house. Confused she looked around. It was brightly lit as it had always been, nothing seemed out of place.
Looking down she saw she was on the raised platform where she would sit with her parents when there was an audience they needed to attend to.
Next to her she saw her children all sleeping in one large basket together.
"This is not right." She said aloud with her voice coming out muted and dulled. Frowning she took a step stopping when she began to feel an impending sense of dread fall upon her.
A heavy darkness overtook her despite the brightness of the room. It was ominous and suffocating. She began to panic as she didn't know what was happening.
The door slammed open and she felt her entire body tremble as her eyes widened. Running towards her was her mother.
Izumi called out to her but no sound would come. Her eyes teared up in such a way that she could hardly see. Swiping at them quickly her mother reached her taking her hands in hers.
"Izu, Chiase needs you." Mizuki said urgently. Furrowing her brow Izumi stared at her mother. "Your friend needs you. He hurt her, the way he hurt me. She needs you."
Jolting awake Izumi sat up clutching the front of her yukata tightly. Glancing around frantically she saw Kohaku asleep next to her with Kozumi sleeping on his chest.
Hisashi and Hotaru slept together piled and entwined atop one another, nothing was out of place. Moving from the futon to her shelves she reached behind one of her older floral arrangements taking the key to her mothers garden.
Turning it in the palm of her hand she swallowed hard.
"He hurt Chiase." She whispered. Sighing she didn't know if it had been a night terror or if her mother had actually appealed to her.
Deciding to talk with Iku on the matter later in the morning she heard someone walking down the hall and back again, it was Sesshomaru.
Slipping out of her room she went to the sitting room where he held the eldest twin, Yue. She never seemed to settle as well as her sister Yuki.
"Izu." Sesshomaru greeted.
"Sesshomaru." She returned. Sitting at the table she placed the key down on the table. "I think I have to return to the east. I have a feeling something isn't quite right there."
"Hm." He replied. "Have you received correspondence from Captain Tadao concerning a matter?"
"No. My mother, I saw her in a dream just now. She told me that my lady in waiting needed me." Izumi said feeling as if she sounded crazy saying it aloud.
"Alright." Sesshomaru said as if it were a settled matter.
"It sounds insane, I know."
"No." Sitting across from her he readjusted his daughter in his arms. "My father has come to me many times in my sleep since his death for different reasons. Whatever your mother said to you you should investigate it."
"I had promised Rin I would bring her but if there is trouble the last thing I want is to put her in potential danger." Izumi stated. "I feel as if I just need to go."
"An impromptu visit may be the best course. Everyone will be on their best behaviors if they know of your arrival." Sesshomaru agreed. "Izumi, if you would allow it, personally I would feel better if I went with you."
"You want to come with me?" She asked with a small smirk.
"I will not have you walking into a dangerous situation without protection." Sesshomaru answered. "That way Rin may go as well along with whomever else you decide upon."
"Iku and Riku certainly. Sana and Jiro. All of the pups, Kohaku." She thought out.
"Jaken and the dragons."
"Really? Jaken?"
"I know you have yet to see his usefulness however I assure you; whatever may be happening within your household Jaken may be the one to uncover it."
"Okay, fine. I will let the others know later to plan to leave in two days time. I will inform Iku and Riku of the reason why, only them, as they have more intimate knowledge of the eastern house than I do." Izumi said.
"I will notify Jaken as well." Sesshomaru agreed with a slight nod. Glancing down at his daughter he saw she had finally fallen asleep.
