Bakugou Katsuki came storming down from the dorm room stairs, looking as though he had just been told he would have to fight a war with no weapons.
He glanced off towards the kitchens where the other boys were starting to get rowdy, seeming to want to avoid their notice. Usually at this time Bakugou would be cooking his own delicious food, while fighting them all off as they tried to steal a taste.
But not tonight.
Tonight, he looked almost hesitant as he approached where the girls of class A were sitting, having their usual cake and tea.
They all paused to watch his approach because he was being so conspicuous. He looked so much less sure of himself than usual and it was something easily noticeable to his classmates.
Bakugou came right up to Jirou and knelt down, looking as though he wanted to whisper something into her ears.
"Look…", just as he opened his mouth to ask her something, he noticed all the girls were looking at him and he straightened up immediately, glaring at them all. "What the fuck are you looking at?!"
Yaoyorozu turned her nose up at the language, while the rest of them simply stared at him in confusion. Bakugou's eye started twitching as he looked back to Jirou. But as he stared at her, he suddenly looked doubtful and turned instead to Ashido.
"Yo, Pinky…" he paused.
Ashido perked up, looking amused. "What's up, Bakugou?"
A vein in Bakugou's forehead started pulsing and he turned red as he tried to open his mouth to say something. The colour was not unusual on him, because he was always angry, but this behaviour certainly was.
Uraraka accidentally let out a giggle as she watched his erratic behaviour. The noise seemed to catch his attention. Bakugou looked at her and seemed reluctant. Uraraka's eyes widened, wishing that she had stayed silent.
Bakugou changed his mind again and looked at all the girls in turn before settling on Uraraka once more. He glared at her intensely, making her fidget in her seat.
"Fucking come with me, round face!" He barked out, turning on his heel to lead the way across the common room.
"Wha…?"
Uraraka jumped up nervously and looked around at the other equally shocked girls. They all shrugged at her. Before Uraraka could even ask what was going on, Bakugou yelled from the corner under the stairs, where it would be certain no one could hear them talking.
"Oi! Are you coming or what?!"
Uraraka's eyes widened fearfully, before she hesitantly made her way over to him.
Bakugou was scowling at her as she approached. Uraraka looked more curious than intimidated. She came to a stop in front of him, holding her hands behind her back and rocking on her heels. Bakugou pulled Uraraka even deeper into the corner before he started speaking, looking slightly reluctant. Uraraka was blinking up at him in confusion.
The girls all exchanged looks at the two of them standing in the corner. It was impossible to not want to know what they were talking about. The tea was forgotten as they started speculating and watching shamelessly.
"What do you think that's about?" Hagakure asked, the need to know clear in her voice.
"I hope he doesn't try to bully Ochako-chan," Tsuyu added with a concerned expression. "Bakugou-kun can be mean when he wants to be."
"Maybe we should try to find out what they're talking about?" Ashido suggested with a sly glint in her eye.
They all looked at Jirou slyly.
"I'm on it," Jirou smirked, as she stuck one of her jacks into the ground and focused the sound in their direction.
She took out a mini-speaker and connected her other jack to it, turning the volume down to remain inconspicuous and avoid the notice of the boys. The other girls scooted closer to the table and leaned in to hear the discussion. All except Yaoyorozu.
"It seems wrong to eavesdrop," she started hesitantly. "Perhaps we should…"
"Shhhh!" The other girls quieted her as they strained to listen.
After a bit of static, Uraraka's voice came out clearly. Even Yaoyorozu could not resist leaning in closer.
"…seems like it's something important."
"Don't make a big deal out of this!" Bakugou's hoarse voice sounded like he was trying to speak quietly to avoid being heard. "I need you to – I just need some – Fuck! I need advice, okay?!"
The sound of Uraraka's shocked gasp came out clearly.
In the corner the girls spotted her nearly bouncing up and down on her feet in excitement, before Bakugou held her down by her shoulders and cast an irritated glance at the girls watching.
They all ducked down and avoided his glare, keeping their eyes glued to the speaker.
"Stop making a spectacle, dammit! I don't want all your stupid friends to know!"
Uraraka ignored his warning.
"Bakugou, you're asking for help?" she sounded half-shocked and half-gleeful. "Am I hallucinating?"
"Shut up!"
"That's so great!" Uraraka sounded excited to be able to help him, and smug that he was coming to her. "Of course, I'll help you. So, what does the great Bakugou-kun need help with? Hmmm. Homework?"
"As if! My grades are ten times better than yours!" he yelled so that the girls could hear him over the speaker as well as hear the echo of his voice in the room.
"Oh yeah," Uraraka mumbled with embarrassment. "So maybe you want to learn some of my awesome martial arts moves?"
"No! Stop guessing! You're bad at it!" Bakugou sounded irritated and tired.
"Well, what then?" Uraraka was getting a little irritated too, even though she still sounded confused.
"I need…" Bakugou mumbled the end of his sentence so that no one could hear what he was saying.
The girls leaned closer to the speaker, almost kneeling on the ground in their eagerness to hear.
"Huh? What? Didn't catch that?" Uraraka whispered too.
"I need…" Bakugou sounded like he was in pain. "I need dating advice, okay?"
There was a shocked silence from Uraraka, which was echoed by all the girls listening. Their eyes were wide as they stared at each other.
Then as one, they all burst into silent giggles. They kept their laughter quiet so that Bakugou would not notice them. Even Tsuyu couldn't resist a light chuckle
"Oh my god, I can't even picture Bakugou dating someone!" Ashido whispered and started laughing. "What could the poor girl have done to deserve that?"
"Be nice, Mina," Hagakure sounded like she was trying not to burst out laughing. "But why is he asking Ochako? I mean, of all the girls, you and Kyouka are the ones he interacts with most."
"Wait, she's asking him that too," Jirou waved them down and they all leaned closer.
"So why ask me?" Uraraka's voice came out over the speaker.
The girls were surprised to hear Uraraka's voice sounding calm and even, as if she didn't find the idea of Bakugou dating as hilarious as the rest of them did.
"You think I wanted to ask you about this shit? Please! You're Deku's friend. It's gross. If there was anyone else…! But Pinky can't keep her mouth shut and Ears looks just as inexperienced as me when it comes to dating."
Ashido looked affronted and Jirou's head sank in embarrassment. Yaoyorozu and Tsuyu were nodding along with his logic, which only further upset the other two. No one knew what expression Hagakure wore.
"And you think I'm experienced? Wow! What are you trying to say, Bakugou?"
The girls cringed at the inadvertent insult and the warning in Uraraka's voice. Not that Bakugou would care if he insulted her or would fear retaliation even if he did.
The girls had never heard Uraraka sound so scary before. They snuck peeks to the corner. Bakugou had one arm on the wall behind Uraraka, half-trapping her, and he was leaning into her space tapping his finger against her forehead as she continued to glare at him.
"Don't be stupid! I don't care about your level of experience. You and me, we understand each other, don't we?"
He kept tapping her on the head like he was trying to knock some sense into her. Uraraka grabbed his finger and twisted it, making him stop.
"Oh. We do?" Uraraka asked curiously, all anger forgotten.
She released his hand and folded her arms as she stared up at him. The girls looked at each other in confusion. Uraraka didn't look irritated with his tapping or confused by his words or even nervous by his proximity. She looked like she and Bakugou had brainstorming sessions about dating every day. Bakugou did not even seem to mind her jostling him.
"I don't fucking know. You just get me. And you know how I think because you think the same way," Bakugou reluctantly admitted.
Uraraka stared off to the side as she seemed to be thinking through his words. Bakugou glared down at her, waiting patiently for her to finish her thought process. It was as strange for the girls to see Uraraka thinking so calmly as it was for them to see Bakugou being patient. Uraraka was never this at ease with them. She was always happy and light and there was always an energy to her. Now, she looked calm and comfortable. As did Bakugou. The girls didn't know which of the two surprised them more.
"Huuhh? In what world do they think the same way?" Hagakure asked, clutching Tsuyu and nearly shaking her for answers.
Perhaps it was Hagakure's actions, but all the girls turned to look at Tsuyu for an explanation. The frog-like girl was the closest with Uraraka after all. Tsuyu seemed to be organising her thoughts.
"I think Bakugou sees a side of Ochako-chan that she doesn't always show to the rest of us. Especially the side that she thinks we won't like," Tsuyu answered, with her finger on her chin as she thought it through. "She doesn't seem to disagree that they understand each other. And they do have similar values, even though their temperaments are far different. They like to win. They both give their all, and they are always trying to improve. Sometimes they can both be a little intense."
The girls stared at each other, none of them ever having made the connection before.
"You know… they do have this mutual respect thing going," Ashido suddenly seemed to realise. "Ever since they fought each other in the first sports festival."
They looked over to see Bakugou still waiting for Uraraka to finish her thought, albeit less patiently than before. They saw her nod in agreement and turn back to face him.
"Don't you think we've listened enough?" Yaoyorozu asked, guiltily.
"Shhhhh!" The rest of them said, as it looked as though Uraraka was finally ready to reply.
However, she was speaking so softly that the girls had to lean in to listen, and that meant they couldn't observe the body language any further.
"Sure. I guess I can see that. But why not ask one of the guys? Kirishima-kun would be glad to help you and I'm sure he'll be more useful..."
"Look, if you don't want to help me, just fucking say so!" he snapped at her.
"I didn't say that!" she snapped back, before softening her tone a bit. "But I'm sure Kirishima-kun wouldn't make fun of you, if that's what you're afraid of."
"Yes, he would! And fuck no I'm not afraid of shit! You think I care what he thinks? I'll kick his ass."
Uraraka chuckled at that. The rest of the girls hid smiles too. They all knew how much Bakugou cared what Kirishima thought.
"Then why?" Uraraka asked.
"He just won't get it, okay? He thinks a date's just a date and it's so easy for him. That damn likeable bastard. It's fucking irritating!"
There was a moment of silence as Uraraka seemed to be thinking.
"But it's not easy for you?"
"Hn."
"Because you're such a grouchy pants?"
"Shut it!"
"And you don't know how to be charming?"
"Fuck you! I can be charming!"
"And maybe you're trying to be nicer, but you don't know how?"
"Tch. Maybe."
"And you want to do well on this date?"
"Hn."
"Because you want to be the best at everything, even if it's just dating? "
"Hell yeah."
"And you're worried Kirishima-kun will get too invested and keep asking you about it afterwards?"
"Hn."
"Or maybe he'll think you'll always need dating advice, and he'll keep trying to throw out wise words of wisdom and make you feel like he's better than you at something?"
"Hn."
"And you know I won't do that."
"You got it, Cheeks." Bakugou sounded like he approved. "You don't really stick your nose into my business. And you're discrete. Which you fucking better be, or else…!"
"Yeah, I know. You'll kick my ass if I tell anyone."
Bakugou scoffed in amusement and Uraraka giggled slightly at the threat.
The girls looked at each other in amazement.
"Wow, she really does get him, doesn't she?" Ashido exclaimed in surprise before the rest of the girls silenced her.
"Fine. I'll help you. So, who's the girl?"
Uraraka sighed, giving into his request. The girls were curious enough to risk sneaking peeks at their body language again
"Does it matter?" Bakugou shrugged, instantly dismissive.
"Of course, it matters"! Uraraka sounded impassioned. "You have to personalise the date to match the girl. I know you won't want to do something too mushy, but you still have to pay attention to what she likes."
She had both her hands up in Bakugou's face, looking incredulous. He just rolled his eyes at her.
"I just need generic advice, like how to get started. I don't really care about impressing her."
"But you have to care! The type of girl she is gives you a clue about what to do on the date!" Uraraka punched her fist into her palm, getting excited. "You need to know if she likes small gifts or big gestures. It's important! Knowing you, if you show up with a bunch of flowers, you'll probably be so embarrassed you'll snap at her for being the reason that you look like a walking Valentine's Day card."
Bakugou smirked at that, causing all the girls to look at him in surprise. They had never seen Bakugou look so relaxed and normal. He was actually smiling!
"Ugh. Probably," he admitted with a small chuckle. "So, what is the bare minimum? What do I do that will keep her happy, without…?"
He faded away looking reluctant. Uraraka smirked up at him cheekily with one of her eyebrows raised.
"…without wounding your pride?"
Bakugou scowled down at her, but Uraraka did not look intimidated. She looked like she was enjoying teasing him. Bakugou rippled with irritation as he growled at her.
"Can it, round face!"
She hid her giggles in her hand, and his mouth lifted reluctantly in joint amusement. Uraraka did not see him smiling. By the time she recovered from her bout of giggles, he was glaring at her again.
"But Bakugou," she insisted, hiding a smile. "Seriously. The more you know about her, the more you can get away with. Like maybe she doesn't like flowers. Maybe she'll prefer chocolates. They're more subtle and won't be so embarrassing."
He removed his hand from the wall behind her and shrugged nonchalantly. He looked a little embarrassed.
"I don't know what she likes, okay? I only asked her out because I needed someone to practice on."
"To practice on? Damn Bakugou, that's cold."
Uraraka cringed in sympathy for the unknown girl. She narrowed her eyes at him angrily.
"Not physically! I just mean the dating part! So that…when the time comes…" Bakugou faded away in embarrassment. "Dammit, Cheeks! You know what I mean!"
Uraraka seemed to think about it before her face lit up in understanding.
"Oh! So that when you do find someone you like, you'll know what to do so that you don't mess it up when it matters?"
"Hn. Like I said, you get me."
Ashido shook her head in confusion at what they were listening to.
"What the hell? How did she get that from what he was saying?"
"I do not understand," Yaoyorozu remarked, fully committing to the eavesdropping. "Have the two of them always been this close?"
"I haven't really paid attention to them before," Jirou frowned as she thought back on their interactions. "But it kind of seems that way. She's patient with him whenever he acts out. I think she finds his temper amusing. She always ends up laughing at his rages instead of fearing for her life."
"Yeah," Hagakure added thoughtfully. "And he is less mean to her than he is to the rest of us. Hey…you guys don't think…?"
They all paused as Midoriya came down the stairs on his way to the kitchen, interrupting the intimate conversation with his staring. The girls stopped their speculating and looked over to the corner.
The green-haired boy looked shocked to see the two of them together. And the two of them looked suddenly awkward. Even their posture had changed. Where they had looked like bosom buddies before, suddenly they jerked away from each other. Bakugou dipped his hands into his pockets and leaned away from Uraraka, who was looking away from him and twiddling her thumbs.
"Uh…hi…? Are you two friends now?" Midoriya sounded confused.
"No! Fuck off, Deku!" Bakugou shouted, in the usual exceptionally angry tone he adopted specifically for Midoriya. "Stop staring, you damn nerd!"
"It's nothing, Deku-kun," Uraraka chuckled nervously. "Bakugou just has to ask me something for an assignment."
Midoriya made some awkward apologies, which only caused Bakugou to shout at him further, and this caused Uraraka to try to keep the peace. Over the sounds of 'Sorry for interrupting!', 'You're not interrupting anything, asshole!', and 'Stop shouting at Deku-kun!' the girls used this chance to gossip.
"Okay, what's up with that?" Hagakure started, sounding scandalised. "It's like they don't want Midoriya to know they're friends!"
"But are they friends, kero?" Tsuyu asked.
"It sure seems like it!" Ashido added, gawking in their direction.
"Yeah, I mean it's weird," Jirou rubbed her chin in confusion. "Why are they hiding how well they get along? It's like they have a secret friendship. I guess we never noticed because they don't act like this around the rest of us."
Hagakure bounced excitedly on her seat. "Oooh! What if they're secretly dating?"
They all looked over to see Midoriya waving his hands in apology, Bakugou screaming about how he can talk to whoever he wants, and Uraraka stepping between them glaring at Bakugou.
"No way," Ashido waved her hand dismissively. "Ochako couldn't hide something like that. She's a terrible liar. I mean, I can totally see it from his side. But what about her?"
"I don't know," Tsuyu added. "He's not very nice to her friends and that is important to Ochako-chan. Still, she admires him more than I thought. But I don't know if it's enough for her to be interested in him in that way?"
"Before I listened to their conversation, I would never have thought of her as interested." Yaoyorozu chimed in, narrowing her eyes, and chewing on her thumbnail. She looked like a detective on the verge of untangling a conspiracy theory. "But there is something different about the way she talks to him, isn't there? She seems more serious, more confident. Before this I would never have said Uraraka-san was trying too hard. But now, I wonder if she tries too hard to seem happy and easy-going with us so that we don't worry about her. With Bakugou-kun, it doesn't seem like she is trying so hard. She sounds stronger, freer, and less worried about being on her best behaviour. Doesn't it seem like the person she is with Bakugou-kun is the real her, and the person she is around us is the pretender?"
The rest of the girls looked at her in wide-eyed surprise. Yaoyorozu blushed and slapped her hands onto her cheeks in embarrassment.
"Oh, no! I think I've taken this too far! This is why one should not eavesdrop!"
Jirou patted her back soothingly, while trying to hide her laughter in her fist.
"Yeah, I don't know about that, Momo." Ashido looked skeptical before she started wriggling with eagerness. "I can't tell with Ochako. But it totally looks like maybe Bakugou likes her? Do you think she's the one he's practicing for?"
The girls all stare at each other, getting excited with the mystery. When Midoriya finally backed away and headed toward the kitchen looking dazed from all the shouting, they all eagerly leaned back into the speaker and watched the pair in the corner. None more eagerly than Yaoyorozu.
"Tch. Damn Deku. Always getting in my business," Bakugou grumbled.
"You don't have to be so mean to him, you know?" Uraraka chided, folding her arms.
"Whatever."
"I mean it, Bakugou," Uraraka scowled. "I really want you to step yelling at each other and be friends again. Maybe then I won't feel like I'm betraying him by being nice to you."
"Tch. Are you really gonna let him influence who you can and can't talk to? He doesn't fucking own you. If you feel so guilty, maybe you shouldn't even be over here with me."
"Not like you gave me much of a choice when you dragged me over here!"
"See! This is why I didn't want to ask your damn advice in the first place. When he's around, you make it awkward! As if you have to like everyone he likes or hate everyone he hates."
"Bakugou, he doesn't hate you. And neither d…"
"Look, can we stop talking about your boyfriend already and get back to my problem?!"
Uraraka turned blood red and made a noise like a teakettle boiling. She waved her hands in front of her face as if she could wave away his last statement. Bakugou kept his hands in his pockets and glared at her.
The girls all exchanged a look of embarrassment and sweat dropped. They all knew that Uraraka had a giant crush on Midoriya. Somehow, during their excited speculation about Bakugou and Uraraka's relationship they had forgotten about it. Suddenly all the ideas about secret dating went out the window.
"Uh…s-s-so about this date?" Uraraka was still flustered, and it was obvious that she was trying to change the topic. "M-m-maybe you just need to do something more your pace. Talking's not your strong suit – which you need to work on by the way…"
"Tch."
"So, don't take her to a restaurant where you two have to face each other and make conversation," Uraraka grew more confident as she got into the conversation again. "Maybe a movie and a nice food stall on a busy street afterwards. That way you can talk about the movie, or you can people-watch, without putting so much pressure on yourself to provide topics of conversation."
"That…doesn't sound too terrible," Bakugou relented. "If she's the type of girl who wouldn't mind that. Some girls want all that fancy restaurant shit."
Uraraka giggled at his facial expression. He looked so disgusted when he said the words 'fancy restaurant'.
"But you wouldn't be interested in a girl like that for long," Uraraka sounded certain. "When you eventually find someone you like, she'll probably be down to earth. I bet her quirk will be excessive patience. She'd need a whole lot to put up with you!"
Uraraka laughed and slapped his shoulder repeatedly in amusement. She didn't seem to care that he didn't find the idea very funny. She just kept cackling for her own enjoyment. Bakugou grit his teeth but made no move to stop her. He just stood there, letting her hit him, slowly building up steam around his ears.
"Are you done?" Bakugou growled menacingly.
Uraraka recovered and straightened up as she wiped at her eyes. She quickly swallowed the last of her laughter as she caught sight of his glare. She chuckled innocently and then smiled up at him in apology, trying to defuse the tension. It seemed to work. Bakugou rolled his eyes at her once more.
"They're so cute!" Hagakure swooned. "I could just eat them up!"
"Is she describing herself?" Yaoyorozu asked in confusion. "Uraraka herself is quite down to earth and patient. Is she implying that she is willing to put up with him?"
"Oh my gosh, is she flirting with him?" Ashido hugged herself with glee.
Tsuyu was the only one who seemed to disagree. She tilted her head and observed her speculating friends curiously. It seemed that the halt in the 'secretly dating' theory was only temporary. Once again, they seemed to have forgotten that Uraraka was interested in Midoriya.
The girls all looked over at the pair as they leaned into each other's space once more. They looked like they were sharing state secrets.
"A-anyway. If you're using this girl to practice on, you should do what makes you comfortable and practice what you're likely to be doing on future dates," Uraraka stated with certainty.
"Hn. I guess. But what about this 'bringing a gift' business?"
"Well, if you don't know what she likes then just bring a single flower this time. But in general maybe you can bring something she likes, or try wearing something in her favourite colour. You need to start off setting a good tone for the evening so that she forgives you if something goes wrong during the date."
"Tch. Nothing's gonna go wrong!"
"But it's always best to be prepared. Don't you want to leave her with a good impression?"
"That's fucking stupid! If a date is bad, it's bad! No amount of gifts will make it better. Not everyone is like you, Cheeks!" Bakugou scolded. "If someone showed up at your house wearing a pink tie and hands you some mocchi, you'd probably be happy going on a crappy date as long as you have something sweet to munch on!"
Tsuyu nodded her head in silent agreement with Bakugou's assessment.
"Oh my god! He totally gets her too!" Hagakure squealed. "They're so adorable!"
"Is – is Ochako blushing?" Jirou asked, noting that the girl in question's cheeks were even pinker than usual.
"It's a pity Uraraka-san seems to be in love with Midoriya-san. She and Bakugou-kun do seem to have a certain chemistry," Yaoyorozu analysed loftily.
Uraraka was looking embarrassed, and her cheeks were puffed out in frustration.
"Well, I wouldn't be totally happy! I'd definitely turn down a second date. But I'm all about making the best out of a bad situation."
"Whoa, second date? What're you talking about Cheeks? There's going to be a second date?"
Both Uraraka and Bakugou pause in their irritation to contemplate the concept of a second date. She looked confused, and he looked even more reluctant than when the conversation started.
"Well, generally that's what you hope for isn't it? That things go so well on your first date that the girl would want to spend more time with you?"
Bakugou freezes like he's never thought about the possibility before.
"Well then, what do I do on a second date?"
"Who says she's going to want a second date with you?" Uraraka laughed, openly teasing him, and enjoying his flustered expression.
Bakugou was starting to turn red and looked like he wanted to start shouting at Uraraka, but she was already waving goodbye to him.
"She fucking better!" Bakugou yelled at her as she turned her back on him. "I'm gonna be the best at dating! She'll probably beg me for…hey, are you listening to me?!"
Uraraka chuckled into her hand as she walked away, ignoring him.
The girls quickly hid their speaker before Uraraka could see it, and Jirou retracted her jacks. Besides, they didn't need the speaker to hear what the two were talking about anymore. Bakugou stormed after Uraraka as she headed their way.
"Oi! Uraraka! What do I do on the second…" he looked around the common room as he walked, embarrassed that they might understand what he was talking about, "…the second assignment?"
"Come find me if you get an A on your first assignment!" Uraraka smirked at him evilly over her shoulder.
"I'll definitely get an A! You hear me, Uraraka?!" Bakugou shouted. "We're not done with this discussion."
As they neared the other girls Bakugou was suddenly back to his usual explosive self, and the girls all narrowed their eyes in suspicion.
"Do your best, Bakugou-kun!" Uraraka waved at him with a nervous smile before he stormed off towards the kitchen.
And now Uraraka was back to being nervous around him. The girls exchanged speculative glances. It definitely seemed as though Uraraka and Bakugou were hiding how close they were. Was it because of Midoriya? Did they feel like they weren't allowed to be friendly because of him? Would he always be an impediment to their budding relationship?
As Uraraka sat back down she relaxed with a happy sigh. Looking around at her friends, she noticed that they were all looking at her with a mixture of knowing smirks, concerned frowns, and encouraging smiles.
Uraraka found herself blushing at their intense staring.
"What?" she asked and rubbed the back of her hair in the same ditzy manner as usual. "Do I have something on my face again?"
The girls all looked at each other suspiciously. Tsuyu, forward as ever, came right out and asked.
"Ochako-chan, who do you like more between Bakugou and Midoriya?"
Uraraka blinked at the question in confusion. The other girls eagerly awaited her answer. But instead, Uraraka burst out laughing. She laughed so hard that tears came out of her eyes, and she ended up slapping her knees.
"That's not exactly an answer!" Ashido moaned with disappointment.
That only made Uraraka laugh harder. And then she had to suddenly stop because she accidentally started hiccoughing. They could get nothing further out of her, and before long Uraraka had to excuse herself to go to the bathroom to try to stop her hiccoughs.
"I guess we'll never know," Hagakure sunk into her chair, the invisible picture of disappointment.
The girls all looked at each other in confusion, realising that they were still just as unclear about the relationship between Uraraka and Bakugou as they had been all night.
"This is why one shouldn't eavesdrop," Yaoyorozu remarked sadly, nodding along with her own thoughts.
