Ok let's get right into it!

*Robin POV*
A couple months ago…
*sigh* "Another day of trying to cope with miraculously being alive…" The tactician thought to himself as he sat up in bed. "Still no indication that Grima survived though, thankfully." He thought as he got out of bed rubbing his eyes. He walks over towards a table picking up a jug of water and pouring some in a small cup. He gulps it down and sets down the cup as he leans over the table with a sigh. There was a mess of things sprawled out on the table, he had many textbooks and old tomes opened up. He had been tirelessly searching for an answer as to how he survived sacrificing himself to save the kingdom from the clutches of the fell dragon. He sits down on a wooden stool running his hands through his hair as he breathes out frustratingly.
"Tharja, was this your doing?" He whispers to himself as he leaned back in his seat. Before long he hears a soft knock on his door and he composes himself before clearing his throat. "Enter" he calls out as he hears the heavy wooden door squeak open. Lucina steps through timidly as Robin gives her a comforting smile.
"Um, Robin, father said you'd meet him in the courtyard. You were going to accompany him on his walk, I was asked to retrieve you." She informs him as he stands up heading towards the back where he hung his coat.
"Ah, my apologies, I must have lost track of time." He says putting his arms through the sleeves and straightening out his coat. "Shall we?" He says as he motioned towards the door with his hands.
"Oh, you go on ahead, I actually promised mother I'd spend some time with her." She says as he nods patting her on the head gently.
"Ah I see, I understand, I guess I'll see you later at the feast that has been prepared in celebration." He says giving her one last smile before walking off.
"R-Robin," she called out timidly as he stopped in his tracks and turned around.
"Yes?" He says as she holds out his tome for him.
"Aren't you going to take this with you?" She asks as he sighed while shaking his head slowly.
"It's just a mere walk I don't think I'll be much use to me" He assures her as she lowered her arms.
"O-oh, ok, I see, well have… Fun" she says as he smiles and nods before he turns to leave. She holds his tome against her chest watching him leave.
*outside*
Chrom and Lissa were standing near the front gate conversing with one another before they see Robin approaching them. "Ah Robin there you are, for a moment I was beginning to think you'd cancel on us." Chrom says as Robin just smiled and waved him off.
"Not at all, I just happened to lose track of time, is all." He says as the Lissa motions towards the gate.
"Shall we?" She says as Robin smiles and nods.
"Yes we shall" Robin states as they begin walking off and Lissa gives him a playful shove.
*sometime later*
"This place, this place will always have special meaning now, as it was where we found you. And also the place of your second birth as it were." Chrom says looking over the large field as he places his hand on the tactician's shoulder and gives it a pat.
"I still can't believe the fact that you are actually still alive, and free from the clutches of that foul creature!" Lissa says while looking back towards Robin who seemed lost in thought.
"Indeed, it feels so weird being back" He responded after a while as he stroked his chin with his hand.
They soon hear a loud rumbling from up above and they all cautiously take a step back. They see flashes of lightning appear out of nowhere, the overwhelming bright flash forcing the trio to shield their eyes. Shortly after a large swirling vortex appears in the sky consisting of dark purples and blues. A loud whirring is heard as three figures drop to the ground from the portal. Chrom unsheathes his sword and holds it out in front of him defensively. Robin cautiously reaches into his coat tightly wrapping his hand around the hilt of his Levin Sword. The portal faded shortly after and they saw the three figures promptly approaching them. An elven man clad in green with a sword and shield on his back, an mysterious warrior clad in a strange orange armor, and lastly an elven woman in an elegant purple and white dress.
"We are here for the man named Robin," The one in orange armor states as Chrom steps forward, sword in hand. Lissa then places her arm out in front of said tactician.
"You can't have him!" She exclaims as the orange clad warrior raised their right arm which seemed to be replaced with a cannon. Just as Chrom raises his sword stepping forward, getting in a battle stance. The elven man in green raised his shield as he stood protectively in front of the elven woman. The elven woman steps forward ushering the man back and motioning for the orange warrior to step down with a hand motion.
"We mean you no harm, we are simply here to offer a proposition to the tactician you know as Robin, a chance of a lifetime to join a multi-universal tournament." The elven woman says as she holds out an envelope between her index and middle finger.
"That would be me" Robin says as he places a hand on Chrom's sword to lower it. He gives him an assuring nod telling him to stand down as he stepped forward. Lissa lowers her arm as she stands idly by letting him through.
"A tournament you say, like a fight arena?" He asks while the elven woman gently shook her head.
"Not exactly, but similar in structure I suppose." She informed him and gently tossed the envelope his way. He extends his arms and catches it between his hands, he looks it over seeing it sealed with a smash symbol. He removes the seal and takes out a very formal looking invitation.
Dear Robin,
Congratulations! You have been invited to attend the fourth official Smash tournament. A tournament where heroes from across space and time come together and aim for the top, test your talents and climb to the top to see who is the best hero. I hope that you accept my personal invitation and join us. In my search for warriors across space and time I have come across your special and gifted talents. Be informed that I don't choose lightly either, as the warriors I pick are ones that have specifically caught my eye. Such as the three warriors who stand before you now. Take your time to think about what you have read as you have only three days to make your final decision, as after the portal will not open.
Sincerely,
Master Hand.
Robin folds the envelope as he takes a moment to process what he read. "What is it?" Chrom asks the tactician as he sighs and looks back up at the other three.
"It's exactly as she stated a multi-universal tournament featuring warriors from across space and time apparently." He responds as he holds a hand up to his chin taking a deep breath.
"And where is this so called tournament?" Chrom asked, turning towards the trio who seemed to be eyeing them cautiously.
"It's in another dimension, should he choose to accept a portal shall open up to our world." The elven woman responds and holds out a small package for Robin. "Use this here on any decent size pool of water to activate it, it comes with instructions." She says as Robin walks over to her and takes it in his hands. "Don't worry he'll be back before you know it." The elven woman assures the other two.
"And who is this Master Hand?" Robin asks as he looks over the package and reads the instructions.
Please keep your hands and feet at your side at all times failure to do so will result in the loss of limbs. Please remain still as the portal calculates where to drop you off failure to do so might result in you appearing in an island in the middle of nowhere, or the mouth of an active volcano. During the ride if you get drowsy or nauseous well then suck it up. Love, C.H.
"He is an other-worldly being of immense power, a sort of god if you will." The elven woman informs him as he thought to himself.
"Is he perhaps the one responsible for my resurrection?" Robin asks himself mentally, seeing as how maybe this was a potential to get answers he's been seeking. "I accept" he says as the other two gasp in shock.
"What?!"
"What?!"
They exclaim in unison as Robin turns to them and then back at the trio. "Could we have a moment please?" he says as the elven woman waves him off.
"Not at all" she says as they turn around and begin to walk away. He turns to the siblings and he lowered his head and slowly sighs.
"Robin…" Lissa says confused as he simply held out his hand.
"I know what you must be thinking," he begins.
"That we can't trust them?" Chrom states as he sheathed his sword crossing his arms.
"They haven't exactly given us any sort of reason to doubt their claims just yet." Robin says turning his head slightly to get a quick glance at the trio behind them.
"Isn't it a bit too suspicious, I mean just as you come back, and they happen to appear out of nowhere to invite you to their so called 'tournament' of sorts?" Lissa states as she placed her hands on her hips.
"I was thinking the same thing, however it also got me thinking based on their claims. What if this Master Hand is responsible for my being here?" Robin says as Chrom was about to respond but couldn't find his words. He and Lissa both look at one another and she shrugs her shoulders slightly. "I mean it would be rude to reject such an invitation from someone of his caliber don't you think. Especially if this being is indeed responsible for saving my life. Besides that I might find answers I've been looking for as well, it seems like an opportunity I wouldn't want to miss." He finished as Chrom kinda groaned unsurely as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Could be, however, what if you end up trapped in a far away place or anything, we'd hate to lose you a second a time." Chrom said a bit concerned as Robin waved him off.
"By the way they seem to be jumping about where they please I don't think that'll be an issue." Robin assured them while motioning to the trio with his head. "Besides sometimes I feel like I'm out of place here, like I have served my purpose." He says as Chrom shook his head vigorously.
"Nonsense Robin, you fit in here like a final piece of a broken puzzle. We'd be lost without you, you are part of this kingdom as much as the next person, and hell even a part of this family!" Chrom states as he places a hand on the tacticians shoulder.
"It's true Robin, you've helped us through thick and thin. We will always welcome you with open arms as if you were one of our own." Lissa says as Robin looks at the contents in his hands.
"I appreciate the kind words I really do, nevertheless, my choice is not because I am uncomfortable or anything. However I feel like I need to seek new horizons to find my way, as I feel lost at the moment." Robin responds as he slumped his shoulders a bit.
"I guess we can kinda understand what you mean..." Lissa sighs as she crosses her arms and turns her head to the side.
"Maybe if I'm in a different plane of existence, I could potentially keep Grima from coming back. Once I get my answers from this Master Hand, I will make sure that the beast is truly gone for good, even if I no longer bare it's mark…" Robin says to himself mentally. "As many concerns as this may raise I am willing to take that risk." He says as he turns to look at the trio behind them.
"We'll have to inform everyone of this, I'm sure they will all want to throw you a farewell party." Lissa said as she leaned to the side with a slow sigh.
"I was kind of hoping you both could do me the honors of saying my farewells to the others. I'm not much for goodbyes and all the emotional bits..." Robin says as Chrom just chuckled to himself.
"And you think we are?" He joked as he slowly shook his head.
Meanwhile with the other three…
"Ice climbers?" The elven man asked as they looked at their list.
"They are withdrawing from the tournament," the warrior in orange responds.
"Why's that?" The elven woman asks as the orange clad figure shrugs.
"They didn't specify" they responded briefly as the woman hummed.
"Well we still have yet to receive an answer from robbie boy over there, and not to mention we still need to go for the other one." The elven man says as the other elf lowered the list and motions behind them with her head.
"I think he's already made his choice," she informs them as they turn to see the tactician approaching. "Have you come to a decision already?" She asks as she arched an eyebrow, he looks between them before speaking up.
"I have, and I have decided to accept your invitation to this tournament," he informs them as the elven woman clasps her hands together.
"Excellent, that's good to hear. You should gather your belongings and say your goodbyes then, you have plenty of time to do so as the magic within the portal stone will last three days." She informed him as he nodded his head.
"I see, well I was kind of hoping to go as soon as possible if that's not a problem?" He asks as the elven man exhales through his nose.
"Wow, eager aren't we?" He says.
"Quite" the tactician plainly responds.
"Well you know what to do, as soon as you're ready just activate the portal and just hop on through!" The elven woman says as she pinches the man in the arm. The elf winces in pain and gives the princess a WTF face while rubbing his arm.
"Are you not going there as well?" He asks while they all just scoff.
"Yeah we'd prefer to show you around, unfortunately we still have a job to complete. We have a couple more dimensions to jump to before we head back unfortunately." The elven woman responds while the other two just nod. "Well best of luck to you Robin and I guess we'll see you around." She says as she looks down at her wrist at a strange device and then promptly disappears in a flash of light. The man in green followed suit as the other warrior approached the tactician.
"When you arrive a guide will be waiting for you, goes by the name Ike." They inform him with a nod before disappearing themselves.
"Ike why does that name sound familiar?" Robin thought to himself as he looked at the contents in his hands. Chrom And Lissa approach him from behind and he turns to face them.
"Well I guess I best be going then" he says. He then holds out his hand to Chrom who looks at it before moving it away.
"Put that away!" he says with a scoff, "come on man, bring it in!" he exclaims giving the tactician a hug and patting him on the back. They pull away shortly after as he turns to Lissa.
"Ok bring it in…" He says plainly, holding out his arms with a sly smile. She rushes at him and tackles him into a hug.
"Gah?!" Robin yelps as they separated. "What was that? it's so cold and slimy?!" Robin exclaims dancing around while reaching behind his back as Lissa laughs hysterically.
*later that evening*
Robin filled a satchel with a few belongings in his room. He turns to head towards the door before he sees Lucina and Sumia walking along a garden through his window.
"Lucina…" He whispered to himself solemnly as he lowered his bag. "I wish I could tell her the truth…" He thought to himself as he looked down at his bag and then back at her. "Maybe after I leave the nightmares will stop, I would rest easy knowing they are safe." He says picking up his bag and heading out the door promptly.
"Going somewhere?" He hears someone call from behind him making him jump in place. He turns to see Tharja leaning against the wall holding a candle in her hands illuminating her face.
"Ah! Tharja, don't sneak up on me like that!" He says holding a hand over his heart. "Nothing gets past you does it?" He adds with a shake of his head.
"So it's true you're leaving then?" She asks as he lowered his head and sighs.
"Yeah I'll be out for a while, but worry not I'll promptly return sooner or later, I promise." he says as he gives her a reassuring smile.
"Would this have anything to do with your recent nightmares?" She asks as he tightly grips his bag with his back to her.
"Perhaps," he says as she blew out her candle, having the red blaze of the sunset be their only light now. "And it seems you've been following me around again haven't you?" He said as she giggled slightly.
"Perhaps…" she states plainly as he shook his head slowly.
"Same old Tharja..." He says to himself. "Well then it should be pretty obvious why I wish to partake this journey." He informs her as she steps towards him.
"I see, well I wish you the best of luck. Though I'm a little hurt you didn't come to me for help with this." She says as she twiddled her thumbs.
"Well last time I ended up 'sick' if you recall correctly?" He says as he slightly turns his head to face her. She seemed to be at a loss of words as she looked down at her hands. "Oh yes, I know all about that, although I played along quite well don't you think?" He says with a bemused smile as she scowls.
"Why do you insist on playing with my mind?" She huffs as she crosses her arms.
"An eye for an eye" he states giving her a wink before walking off.
"Wha…?" She says watching him go, she then hums to herself in amusement before walking off herself.
Robin watches from afar as he sees the people putting up banners and festive lights. He hated having to just leave so suddenly but he really needed the peace of mind. He wanted to have one final chat with Lucina if that were possible but time was of the essence for him. He approached a fountain and dropped the stone in as the water started to swirl outwards. Before long a portal had materialized itself in front of him. He takes one last look behind him before promptly stepping through.
*One portal ride later*
Robin tumbles out the portal while holding his head as the whole world spun.
"Hey, you Robin?" He hears someone ask from behind him. He turns to see a tall man standing in the sunlight.
"That's what they call me..." the tactician replies holding his hand over his eyes trying to get a view of this man. His cape and bandana swaying in the gentle breeze.
"Cool, I'll be showing you around and stuff," The man responds stepping forward. The glaring sunlight is blocked out by him letting Robin get a clearer view of him. He sees the man's messy dark blue hair held back by his bandana. A large cape hung from his shoulders while a rather large sword hung on his back. He holds out his hand while Robin starred rather amused and surprised.
"Names Ike!" He says as Robin takes his hand and gives it a firm shake.
"Yes, yes I've heard of you!" Robin stated while Ike arched an eyebrow. "Yeah the radiant hero, I've heard and read all about your epic tale and adventure!" Robin informs him as Ike just hums.
"Through song and stories shared round the bars and campfires?" Ike asked as he stood in a hero pose.
"Not exactly" Robin responds, "you're just sort of an old legend in the future." He informs the mercenary who looked at him in surprise.
"Woah, dude, you're from the future, that's cool!" Ike says giving him a rough pat on the back sucking the air out of the tactician. "How'd I hold up, am I still in prime condition despite being old?" He asks as Robin sort of awkwardly rubs the back of his head.
"I wouldn't know, unfortunately you're no longer around…" He responds as Ike frowns.
"Oh, that… sucks…" He says as he crosses his arms.
"Well it has been a thousand years or so…" He says as Ike grunts while he nods his head.
"Well might as well get you settled in, then I'll introduce you to the boys, except pretty boy, he ain't here yet." Ike says ushering the tactician along down the path towards the large mansion ahead.
"How long have you been here?" Robin asks the mercenary who just shrugged his shoulders a bit.
"Probably two weeks or so, this is my second tournament here." Ike responds as they approach the front gate and some Miis rush over to open them up.
"Interesting" Robin states to himself. "And this Master Hand, has anyone seen him, is he an omnipresent being?" Robin asks as Ike kinda just thought to himself.
"MH, oh yeah he's not your typical omnipresent being, he's no myth or anything I can assure you. However don't be surprised when you see the big cheese himself, he won't be quite what you expect." Ike informs him as Robin looks in thought.
"And how far is his power and influence?" Robin asks as Ike shrugs again.
"Dunno man, you're asking the wrong guy, I just learned to cope with everything here rather than question it. Believe me it'll make your life a WHOLE lot easier." The mercenary responds as he approaches the large set of double doors that made up the entrance. "Welcome to the Smash Mansion!" He says pushing the tactician through the door.
"Um, thanks?" He says as he looks around the rather large and fancy looking mansion.
"Yeah she's a beaut isn't she?" Ike whistled as he leaned against a statue.
"I must say, it's rather impressive," Robin states as he takes in the sights.
"This ain't nothing yet, there's so much more to see!" He says motioning for the tactician to follow.
"I wouldn't doubt the rest is as impressive as this entrance." Robin says as he follows closely behind the mercenary.
"Ike what up my man from another land!" A blonde man with a red sword on his back walks up to them. They jump in the air and chest bump as they bro hug.
"Hey this is the new guy, Robert!" Ike says patting said person in the back.
"Robin actually…" He corrects the mercenary as he holds out his hand.
"Hey dude, welcome names Shulk!" The blonde says enthusiastically as he shakes the tacticians hand.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance" Robin says cheerfully.
"Oh has he seen the arcade yet?" Shulk says taking a sip from a canned beverage. "It's been upgraded and it looks real rad dude!" He says excitedly as Ike inhales excitedly.
"Dude that's perfect, I'm actually suppose to show Ronald here around." Ike says as Robin sighs slowly.
"That sounds cool… Dude..." Robin says as they drag him along. They show him to a rather large rectangular room that was dark, save for the large glowing containers that lined up around the room.
"They just added MOOD today!" Shulk says pointing to a new shiny looking one.
"Dude, no way, I've been wanting to play that!" Ike said looking at it in awe as he ran his hand slowly on the side.
"What exactly are these… Containers?" Robin asks confused as he knocks on the screen of one of them.
"Oh right, no tech in our dimension…" Ike says as Shulk 'ohs' while Robin blankly stares. "I mean I could give you the details, it'll be a while, it's better than reading the whole damn arcade manual MH put out." Ike says as the tactician just shrugs him off.
"I wouldn't mind a little literature, I'd probably say I prefer it..." he responds as he and Shulk turn to look at each other. Ike heads to the back and comes back with a real THICK book that'll put dictionaries to shame.
"You sure?" Ike says as he and Shulk snicker to themselves like idiots.
"Oh this is more than fine, I've been needing some new form of entertainment as of late!" Robin says flipping through the large book. "Besides, I can't say these contraptions haven't caught my curiosity and interest." He says as he closed the book with a loud clap as the other two stared in shock. "It'll be a great way to pass the time before bed" he adds as he placed the book under his arm. "So what's next?" he says enthusiastically.
"Well I guess everything" Shulk says as he begins to walk away. Ike turns back to the MOOD arcade slowly running his hand on it.
"We'll be together soon" he whispers before he goes after the other two.
*Later*
"Fascinating!" Robin says taking a handful of fries and eating them rather thrilled.
"I'll say!" Ike says taking a clean chicken bone out of his mouth. "I'll tell you, you don't get stuff like this back home!" He says setting it down on a plate piled with chicken bones.
"How do they make the potatoes have such texture!" Robin moans as he savors his fries.
"Well someone really liked the fries" Shulk says before taking a bite of his burger.
"I could eat these for days, literally the best thing that could be made with a potato!" Robin says taking another handful, he had become addicted since his first taste, something that would last for a while.
"Oh, oh dude, you really wanna know how far a potato can go!" Ike says with a large grin as he pulled out a large bag of potato chips. He opens the bag and moves it towards the tactician. He takes some into his hand and takes a bite of them with a loud savory crunch.
"Oh, mmmh, this can't get any better!" He says as Ike grinned along with the monado wielder.
"Yeah it really can't!" Ike says shoving a handful into his mouth.
The three were currently sitting on a bench out back having lunch, after showing the tactician around the majority of the large mansion. And also a very weird meet up with his supposed 'twin'. Although he was unsure of what to grab due to not being familiar with the food, it was instead insisted that he grab some fries to begin with. Well the tactician was instantly infatuated. They hear a whoosh as they see two angels land near them, though one was a darker color.
"Piiiiit!" Ike says with a grin as he picks the angel up and crushes him in a hug.
"Hey Ike!" Pit breathes out as Ike promptly lets him go.
"Hey check it out, this is the new guy Roger." He says motioning to the tactician behind him.
"Hey I'm Pit, nice to meet you!" He says walking over to Robin and shaking his hand really fast.
"Likewise, names Robin by the way." he responds as Ike awkwardly glances behind the angel.
"And, uh… That?" He says motioning towards the dark angel in the back with his arms crossed and a bored look. He wasn't exactly giving out the best of vibes either.
"Oh, this is my adopted brother Pittoo!" He says walking over and patting him on the back. "He just arrived today along with Lady Palutena!" The angel says rather excitedly before he turns to his counterpart. "This is Ike, Shulk, and Robin!" Pit says to his dark counterpart. The dark angel just growls to himself and shoves the angel aside.
"Dark Pit is fine, or if you prefer Kuro, don't EVER call me Pittoo!" He states as they all awkwardly stare at each other and shrug.
"Well hey welcome…" Ike says nervously rubbing his arm.
"Nice to meet you DP," the blonde says with finger guns.
"Pleasure..." Robin says as he gives the dark angel a nod.
"Well ima show grumpy pants here the cafeteria, to maybe see if he's hungry." Pit says as he walks away with his counterart closely following behind.
"Interesting… " Robin says to himself as he jots down some notes.
A rectangular device starts buzzing around Ike's belt and he picks it up, placing it to his ear. "Griel Mercenaries hotline!" He says while taking a bite out of another drumstick. "Oh, right, alright sir..." He says as he lowers the device again.
"What's up?" Shulk asks before taking another bite of his burger.
"The big man upstairs wants to meet our friend here." Ike says as he turns to face Robin. "He's got a surprise for him!" Ike says with a wide grin as he elbows Shulk had an equally large grin.
*later*
Ike bangs on the large doors and stands back. "ENTER!" Came a loud booming voice from within. Ike opens the door and motions the tactician in. The room was completely dark save for a small lamp on a desk, he could see someone was sitting behind the desk but couldn't really make out any features in the dim light.
"SURPRISE!" Everyone yells the lights come on illuminating the room as confetti and balloons fall from above. He sees the roster there, well most of them, cheering and clapping as he cautiously stepped forward. He sees a man with a glove for a head walk from behind his chair.
"Hello Robin, I am Master Hand, thank you for accepting my invitation. Welcome to the super smash brothers!" He proclaims as everyone starts to clap again. He walks over handing him some belongings he'll be using before shaking his hand.
He sees the trio from before, except now there was a blonde princess in a pink dress, and a man in red overalls and cap. "The next newcomer is approaching!" The blonde princess says enthusiastically.
"Join us Robin in welcoming our new brothers!" Master Hand says as he and Ike go and take their place amongst the crowd. They turn off the lights while Master Hand goes and sits behind his desk again. They hear a loud knock shortly after, before Master Hand cleared his throat.
"ENTER!" Came his loud booming voice as two figures entered.
The lights come on and "SURP-" *THWACK* the crowd all gasp in unison. There at the entrance stood Palutena and Dark Pit. Except when the lights came on Pit jumped at them from behind. The started dark angel however punched his lighter counterpart right in the face. Everyone stood in shock as Dark Pit looked down at his knocked out brother.
"Pittoo!" Palutena groans as she facepalms.
"What?" He says with a simple shrug of his shoulders. "You know I'm always on guard!" He protested as he crossed his arms shaking his head.
"What is the meaning of this?!" MH says as he turns to the 5 members of the Six behind him. "I specifically asked you to bring Palutena in first, then the angel, this is EXACTLY the kind of thing I wanted to avoid!" He says while they kinda look at each other awkwardly.
"Well, we-a thought it would-a be-a better if we-a just bring-a both at once?" The man in overalls says as he shrugged his shoulders
"Imbeciles!" MH sighs as he runs a hand down his face/palm. "And you, while you are on this premises I expect you to exert some self control, this is unacceptable!" He exclaims as he turns to Dark Pit and motions towards the angel on the floor.
"Well maybe don't have people jump me from behind and it won't happen!" Dark Pit grumbles as MH starts to turn red.
"Excuse me?!" The hand demanded as Palutena rushed over and clasped a hand over the dark angel's mouth before he could speak again.
"He's terribly sorry sir, and don't worry it won't happen again, I assure you he is a well to do and polite young man!" Palutena assures the hand keeping a firm hold over the angel who was muffling in her hand.
"I won't let something like this slide again" he states as he crosses his arms and Palutena laughs nervously while waving him off.
"Oh don't worry it won't happen again, I'll make damn sure of it!" She responds, forcefully dragging the dark angel away.
"And someone take him to the infirmary!" He groans as he motions towards the still knocked out angel on the floor. Ike walks over and slumps the angel over his shoulder and walks away. "The rest of you clear out!" He demands as everyone sort of quietly leaves before he turns to the Elites behind him. "And you!" He exclaimed as he turned to them as they hung their heads.
*Later that day*
"I'm sorry you had to witness that on your first day," Robin hears from behind him. He turns in his seat to see the elven woman standing there. "Please accept my sincerest apology" She says as she gives him a short bow.
"It's quite alright I assure you," he says as he stands from his seat. "I'm sure none of us could have anticipated that Dark Pit fella to have done such a thing." He assures her as she sighs and lowered her head.
"Oh please, everyone saw it coming a mile away..." she sighs as she cleared some hair from her face.
"Nevertheless, I think it might have been uncalled for Master Hand to have had such a negative reaction, it was after all an accident no?" Robin states as the elven woman sighs as she crosses her arms.
"Well look at it from his perspective, he has a huge deal of pressure on his shoulders trying to make this whole thing go smoothly. More specifically because of a horrible incident that happened during the last tournament. Any sort of mishaps puts a big stress and strain on the man, who is doing his absolute best to give people what they ask for." She explained as she looked up at the ceiling in thought.
"I see," he says, stroking his chin with his hand.
"Robin, Master Hand will see you now," The orange clad warrior says as they step out of the office.
"Ah yes, I'll be right there," he says before turning towards the woman. "I never did catch your name?" He says as she shook her head slightly.
"Oh pardon me where are my manners, I'm Princess Zelda of Hyrule." The princess says holding out her hand.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance," he responds, shaking her hand before he turns to walk away. He walks into the office and sees Master Hand sitting on his desk.
"Please have a seat" the hand says motioning to one of the chairs in front of his desk. "I'm terribly sorry for the charade earlier, are you settling in alright?" He asks as the tactician takes a seat.
"I'm quite alright sir, Ike has been generous enough to show me the ropes." He says as Master Hand hums and nods his head.
"Glad to hear it, I called you in to discuss a few rules and regulations of the manor. We are still waiting for some more participants to join us, when we do get everyone here the tournament shall begin, assuming they accept the invitation of course. So you may practice for the time being if you so wish. If you feel like helping with arrangements you can ask one of three who brought you here. I can use all the help I can get, we are already behind schedule as it is. Now, my assistants should have given you a full copy of the schedule in your room for reviewing. Curfew is and will be at 10pm sharp unless given permission otherwise. The fights are simulated so no actual damage can be done to opponents as well as in the mansion and its boundary. So you can't get mortally wounded however bruises and minor things like that still happen, as you unfortunately witness today. However we have a medical wing for that and a highly experienced doctor. As for sickness it is unusual but yes illness is still possible but that is rare. Now you are free to roam the mansion as you please, however there are rooms and chambers that are prohibited to enter except for myself and the Elite Six members, you've already met three of them. Other than that, just have fun. You can do practice matches or hang out in one of the many activity rooms or chat to others to get to know them so that sums it just about up, do you have any questions?" He finished as Robin shifted in his seat.
"Well, one of the main reasons I came to this world was to seek answers actually." The tactician begins as he looks down at his hands.
"Oh?" The hand states while leaning forward.
"You see prior to your invitation, I had given my life to save those I cared about. And well as you can see I'm still alive, and it got me wondering if perhaps this world had anything to do with it?" He asks as Master Hand breathes out slowly.
"Ah that inner turmoil I see, yes the other Robin came to me with the same concerns and questions." He says as he looked up at him surprised.
"She did?" He says as he thought to himself.
"Indeed, and I'll offer the same piece of advice as I did her. While it is not in my position to reveal whomever is responsible, I can tell you this: It seems as though perhaps someone powerful deemed you worthy of a second chance at life. And while it may be concerning regarding your past, is it not a miracle to be given life again, this is a great gift that should not be taken for granted." He says as Robin pounders to himself.
"Well I am grateful, I truly am, however I haven't been able to shake this feeling of dread I have inside. Like a part of my dark side may still linger if that makes any sense." Robin says leaning forward and resting his face in his hands.
"It sounds like you just need to do some soul searching, you are lost now that you are free. What troubles you may be that you are still holding on to the past that should be forgotten." MH says as Robin slowly lifts his head. "I'm sure in your time here you'll discover more about yourself than you thought you could, I cannot give you your answers for it is something you need to find yourself. Only you can free yourself from these bonds that hold you down. I'd implore you to visit our great library when you have the chance, there is much knowledge there and I'm sure you'll find answers there and more." He says as the tactician nods his head.
"I see, then hopefully my nightmares might be just a figment of my imagination after all…" He says as he stands from his seat.
"Could be, only time will tell. And remember you need not bare this burden alone, there are others here who would lend a hand to you. You're not the first to come here plagued by inner turmoils I assure you." MH says as Robin hums quietly to himself.
"I thank you for your time, and I really appreciate the invite here, you have given me a peace of mind for the time being." He says as the Hand stood from his spot.
"There's many reasons why I chose you, and perhaps what drew me to you might be the very same essence that deemed you worthy of a second chance." Master Hand says and as they both walk towards the door. "Despite your dark past and your intended purpose, you are noble and strong willed. I don't doubt for even a second that you'd ever be overcome by darkness." Master Hand finished as he held open the door for the tactician.
"Thank you, and for the time being your words have given me a sort of comfort and relief." Robin says with a nod before walking off. "It seems my coming here might be fated afterall, my answers are here I can feel it. I might pay a little visit to this grand library after dinner…" Robin thought to himself as he headed to his room. As he turns the corner he sees the other Robin leaning against his door. She had her head down looking at a book with her hood over her head. She clasps the book shut in her hand as he approached.
"Anything?" She asks as he sighs and shakes his head.
"It appears we are on our own on this one…" He says as she reaches up removing her hood.
"I figured as much, although this library has more than enough intricate knowledge for us!" she says handing a book over to him. He takes it in his hand running another hand across the cover. "As much as we are encouraged to pull others into this, I think we'd be better off not telling everyone we fear we may be taken over by a demonic dragon." She says as he slumps his shoulders.
"You are right, I think the best part of this whole thing is we are away from anyone we fear we may endanger. Should anything happen here I'm sure it will be handled accordingly with minimal effort, no doubt." Robin says as he unlocks his door letting the door swing open. "Even though we no longer bare the mark, and we have our own will. He will always be a part of us, that much we cannot change." Robin says before stepping into his room.
"Maybe we could get our minds off things by helping around here. Everyone seems to have a huge load on their shoulders, it'll probably be a nice relief if we took some of that off." F Robin says still standing in the doorway as M Robin placed a few things on a desk next to his bed.
"Perhaps you are right Robin" he says as she shifts to the side.
"This whole sharing a name thing is going to get confusing…" She states as she leans against the door frame. M Robin looks up and thinks to himself briefly.
"I could just shorten mine to Rob, so as to clear some confusion…" M Robin says as F Robin slowly shook her head.
"Mmmh, wouldn't work, then you'd be clashing names with that mechanical being." She states as he snapped his fingers.
"Drat, I forgot about him…" He says before a lightbulb goes off in his head. "Ah ok we could refer to you as 'Ribbin' then!" M Robin proclaims while F Robin just kind of scrunched her face.
"That name sounds ridiculous, makes me sound like some… Some…" She says snapping her fingers as the name was at the tip of her tongue.
"Some…?" Robin asks as he arches an eyebrow and leans against the desk while supporting himself with his arm.
"Like some sort of slimy disgusting amphibious creature!" She protested as he just kind of waved her off.
"Oh come now, you're over exaggerating" he says as she stomps her foot like a child, she was about to protest till someone interrupted her.
"Hey guys the Elite Six wants us to meet up, before you ask who they are it'll be explained shortly." Ike said coming into the door frame as the tacticians looked at each other and then shrug following after the mercenary.
*Later that day*
*crunch*

*cruuuuuuuuuuunch*
"Would you stop that!" F Robin complained as she set her book down. M Robin looks up from his own piece of literature while slowly munching on some potato chips.
"Wot?" He asks as he swallows and she just sighed gently, setting her head down on the book.
"Nothing… it's just…" She groans while keeping her face planted in the book.
"Hey don't forget I'm on the same boat here," he assures her and she just heavily sighs still planted face first into the book.
"No you don't understand… I just… I…" She begins trying to find her words.
*CRUNCH*
*GIMME THAT!" She exclaims snatching the bag from him and throwing it on the floor before she begins to stomp on the bag.
"Hey that was uncalled for!" M Robin protested looking down at his destroyed snack somewhat disappointed, as he was really enjoying them. She sits back down brushing her hair from her face before picking up her book and proceeds with her literature. She shook her head as she turned the page and Robin just shrugged. He reached into his coat taking another bag out and resumed his own read.
*crinkle*
*crinkle*
*crunch* *crunch* *crunch*
F Robin slowly lowers her book too see M Robin munching on chips again while reading his book. He shoves another handful in his mouth before she snatched the bag from his hand and threw it into the fountain nearby. She turns to glare at him as he stares confused up at her while slowly munching on the last of his snack. She takes her seat again while picking up her book and going back to her read. M Robin just shrugged and pulled another bag out of his coat before going back to reading.
*crinkle*
*CRUNCH* *CRUNCH*
F Robin again slowly lowers her book to see him munching on potato chips. "ARCHFIRE!" She shouts making the bag go up in flames and turn into a pile of soot on the table. Robin stares down at the soot pile on the table a little saddened to see his snack so brutally destroyed. She huffs while putting her tome away and picking up her book again.
*cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunch*
Her eye begins to twitch as a vein pops out of her head. She throws her book aside to see him once again munching on another bag. She raises from her seat and throws herself at him but he gets out the way. She charges at him again but he plants his hand on her face. She begins to swing her arms around wildly at him as he lifts the bag above his head, dumping as many chips into his mouth as possible.
"Hey guys I-" Shulk says as he comes over towards the corner of the garden where they stood. They both turn to glare at the blonde boy while staying in their positions. "I'll c-come back later…" He says with a blank expression before backing away slowly. M Robin continued to pour chips into his mouth as F Robin continued to swing her arms at him as he held her face.
*later that evening*
They both held the same expression on their face, shock and disgust. They both held a sandwich in their hands frozen in place as carnage ensued all around them. It was dinner time and they both made the rookie mistake of sitting at the swordsman table, well more like F Robin did. All around them the guys were devouring their food like there was no tomorrow. A piece of soggy bread dripping in gravy and saliva landed on her face and it took all her willpower not to hurl all over the table. Link was bragging about how he took out an enormous spider with an eye on it's back, all the while exploding chunks of food on the table every time he opened his mouth. Dirty plates all littered the table as they had gone for seconds and thirds already.
"And then I plunged my Master Sword straight into the bastard's eye!" He proclaims stabbing his turkey sandwich with a knife as gravy oozed out of it, he had drenched the thing in gravy before he began eating it. He then lifted the soggy sandwich up and shoved it into his mouth. "Novor sow it comong!" He exclaims proudly as sauce dripped from his mouth.
"NOICE!" Ike exclaims giving him a fist bump as he takes a chunk clean out of his drumstick.
The other ladies then enter the cafeteria conversing and giggling amongst each other. They pass by the swordsman table and spot a pale faced F Robin staring blankly ahead of her with a look of horror. "Hey Robin, wanna come join us?" Peach says as the tactician looked at her with hope in her eyes.
"OH NAGA YES!" She shouts and completely jumps over the table and follows after the other ladies.
Ike then sets an enormous bag of potato chips on the table with a grin...
*shortly after*
"So I've come to the realization that you're insane!" M Robin states as his counterpart scoffs and looks up at him.
"Excuse me?" She says as he leans back in his seat blowing hair from his face.
"Look at this!" He says motioning towards the gameboard they were playing. "You've put all your hope on your frontal defense, you've left your rear wide open, and the side is so vulnerable I can easily out flank you and destroy you from both sides." He says moving his pieces along the board, they were currently playing a random board game called 'kingdom battle!'
"Ahaha, see that's where you are wrong my friend!" She states as she begins moving her pieces along the board. "You've fallen precisely into my trap, see now I call in my reinforcements and I've completely split your army in two. And in the midst of the confusion I effectively wipe your flanking division out!" She proclaims as he sat there in thought stroking his chin.
"I stand corrected, you're a lunatic!" He says again as she scoffed again, placing a hand over her chest to seem offended.
"What compels you to say such things?" She asks as he shifts in his seat before clearing his throat.
"You sent out all those poor souls to cause a diversion, and knowing this full well, you went ahead and used them as bait to hatch your evil scheme!" He says while pointing at all the different pieces of the board.
"I didn't send them to their doom, because I had complete faith in my army!" She fires back.
"Ok well now look at this!" Robin says rather smugly as he begins moving his pieces on the board. "Since you focus so hard on my flanking division it allows my cavalry to flank you from the side where you left yourself wide open!" He says slamming his piece down on the board.
"Yeah well now that your troops are out in the open my archers can effectively rain down on you!" She fired back slamming her own piece on the table.
"Did you forget about my centurions that can effectively form a protective coat around my army with their large shields!" He says.
"And you forgot about my catapults!"
"Well now you forgot about my faster shooting ballistas!"
"You forgot about my axe-throwers!"
"Spear throwers!"
"Iron boars!"
"Dire wolves!"
"Paladins!"
"Lancers!"
"You following any of this?" Shulk whispers as he leans over towards Ike. They were both seated on backwards facing chairs watching the tacticians play their game.
"Not a clue..." he says as the silver haired twins continue to slam pieces on the board. And wouldn't you know it they ended up expending all their resources.
"Well now we're both left with nothing but our healers…" M Robin states as F Robin groans frustratingly.
"Well I guess we can just scalpel you to death!" She says flicking Robin's remaining piece.
"That's not how it works!" Robin states as he shook his head.
"Desperate times called for desperate measures!" She says smugly and crosses her arms.
"In that case my monks then bludgeon your healers to death!" Robin proclaims.
"You can't do that, that's cheating!" She protested as she stood from her seat.
"Desperate times" he says with a simple shrug. She growls as she slams her hands on the table.
"You're a hack!" She exclaimed as he stood up as well getting in her face. He also slams his hands on the desk as a challenge.
"You're a weasel!" He says as they both fiercely glare at one another while growling under their breath. The tension could be felt from a mile away at this point.
"You know if Master Hand wouldn't have clarified anything, I swear I would've thought you both were related…" Ike says as they both snap out of their intense stare-off and turn to face the mercenary with a blank expression.
"It's true, you guys bicker just like brother and sister" Shulk claims with a sly shrug of his shoulders before taking a sip of his canned beverage.
"I find it adorable!" Palutena speaks up as she appears at the entrance to the common room they were in. "You two remind me of Pit and Pittoo in many ways!" She says with a slight squeal of delight. The tacticians look back at one another while slowly taking their seats again.
"I can definitely agree, as someone who grew up with a sister, I totally see the resemblance!" Toon speaks up popping up out of nowhere from the other side of the table.
"Maybe our relationship should be established based on that foundation, it does make it easier to sort of cope being in the same plane of existence with a counterpart" M Robin says as he strokes his chin in thought.
"I can see that working, and on the plus side I've always wanted a sibling of my own!" F Robin states as they lock their arms together sealing the agreement.
"It does make my brain hurt less thinking about it" Link says as he appears next to Toon Link scratching his head.
"I basically pictured you both as such anyway" Palutena says as the others agreed.
"Yeah same!"
"Me too!"
"All too true!"
"Right!"
"Robin?" Someone the other side says and they both turn to the source at once.
"Yes?"
"Yes?"
They both say in unison and then turn back to each other. "Yeah I was going to say, you're going to have to work out the whole name dilemma." Zelda speaks up as she stands from her seat at the far side of the room.
"I thought we agreed on Ribbin?" Shulk says while Link and Ike nod their heads.
"You told them about that?!" F Robin exclaimed as M Robin simply shrugged his shoulders.
"You never gave any input on the matter, so I went with the only thing I had..." he states as she groans frustratingly.
"So Ribbin it is!" Ike states standing from his seat with his arms in the air.
"Call me that, and I'll murder you in your sleep!" She snaps as he slowly shrinks into his seat in fear.
"Well we're going to have to call one of you something different!" Palutena says as she crosses her arms, "honestly it's getting a bit frustrating having to tell you which one we are referring too. Especially considering you both are always together!" The goddess explains while everyone around the room nods and agrees.
"We could just refer to this one as Robi" Peach interjects, as she stood from her seat across the hylian princess, she walked behind M Robin and placed her hands on his shoulders.
"Actually, I was hoping I'd be the one to change names, since 'Robin' hasn't really been a name I've been too keen on in any case," F Robin says.
"I thought Robin fit you nicely, plus it's the name of a really cute little bird as well!" Peach says as F Robin just shrugged.
"Meh… Not doing it for me, besides it sounds too boyish anyway…" She stated as she crossed her arms.
"Well then, any bright ideas?" Zelda asks the room as everyone looks deep in thought. That's when both tacticians locked eyes on a book sitting on top of a pile of books on a chair, with a peculiar bird on it as well.
"RAVEN!"
"RAVEN!"
They both exclaim in unison while everyone nods their heads. "Yeah I like the sound of that!" Shulk says enthusiastically.
"Yeah it does sort of fit your motto and attire in a weird way," Ike says making hand motions in her direction.
"I think it sounds rather lovely" Palutena agrees as she clasps her hands together.
"Makes you sound badass!" Toon says pumping a fist in the air.
"Elegant and intimidating" Zelda says asmused as she rests her head on her fist. And Link holds up an ok with his hands while having another one around Zelda.
"We can make it work I guess…" Peach says with a defeated sigh, "although it's not pretty like a Robin though…" she says under her breath.
"This actually makes our job easier as well," Samus says from the far back of the room while on a tablet going through some things as usual. Everyone then gathers around talking cheerfully as the 'siblings' stood in the middle with their arms wrapped around each other. It isn't long before Raven reaches over and smacks Robin on the back of the head, and he returns the gesture shortly. And soon enough they both had each other in a headlock while insulting the other. Everyone just kind of stood there awkwardly watching the two squabble as they sweat dropped.
*one week later*
Robin enters a large wooden door, he steps inside the dark room removing his coat and hanging it on a rack. He sighs rather satisfied with his day as he stepped further into the dark room.
"Surprise!" Everyone yells as they surround the tactician.
"You guys shouldn't have!" He says rather cheerfully as he is surrounded by friends.
"Come on Robin, you didn't think we'd forget your birthday right?" Chrom says patting his friend on the back. Before the tactician could respond the whole world flickers. He could see all his friends perish before his eyes one by one as he could only stare in horror...
"You didn't think I'd just let you go did I?" A sinister voice echoed in his head as Robin covered his ears.
"No!" He says as he stared down seeing his best friend lying lifeless at his feet. His cold dead eyes looking up hauntingly at the tactician. He looks at his trembling hands covered in blood, THEIR blood.
He lets out short raspy breaths of terror as he shakes uncontrollably. "THIS IS YOUR ONLY FATE!" The voice in his head shouts, right before he sees the corpse of Lucina...
Robin shoots up in his bed in a cold sweat, he is panting as he looks around trying to collect himself. "Another dream..." He groans in frustration throwing his covers off and sitting at the edge of his bed. He grabs a glass of water on his nightstand and begins to down it. He sets it down and turns his digital clock to face him, it was 3:03 am. He hears a rapid but soft knock on his door shortly after. Confused he tiptoes over to the door and opens it slowly to peek out through a crack. He sees Raven standing there in a shaken state before he fully opens the door.
"They're back" she states as he lets her in as she nervously paced around his room.
"I know…" he whispered solemnly as he gently closed his door, putting his back against it.
"Why, why now?" She says as she continued to pace back and forth, she held out her hand in front of her balled into a fist.
"It's been almost a week, I admit I was starting to forget about it, till the nightmare returned..." Robin sighs as the memory of his nightmare flashed in his mind.
"I can't take this anymore, the dread and feeling of hopelessness is killing me!" She chokes out placing a hand over her mouth. Robin walks over to his counterpart placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. He could feel her trembling, and he couldn't blame her, he was also struck with fear. "All I could do is watch…" She whispered, "watch as I ripped them apart, I ripped right into them as if they meant nothing to me!" She cried out as she turned around burying her head into his chest. He closed his eyes listening to her quiet sobs as some gentle tears rolled down his cheeks. "I tore everyone apart as if I enjoyed it!" she choked out past her sobs.
"Is this some sort of divine punishment?" He says solemnly, closing his eyes tight as his tears continue to stream down his face. He could feel her tightly gripping unto his shirt as he wraps his arms around her.
…
They were both sitting outside in a balcony with blankets draped over themselves. Watching the sun start rising over the horizon driving away the darkness that engulfed the land. In a way it gave them a small feeling of peace as they felt the warm sunlight on their face. Raven sniffled as she gently tapped the blanket against her eyes. "As much as I hate to admit it, we aren't strong enough to handle this alone" she whispered as he hung his head low.
"I know" he admits as he leans forward looking down at his hands. "And I already know the first person who we can turn to." He says as she shifts in her seat wrapping her blanket tightly around herself.
"Zelda" she says at that exact moment as if to read his mind.
"Indeed" he says as he leans back looking up at the orange sky.
"Maybe these dreams are trying to tell us something, but we either refuse to listen, or we just can't see it," she says as he breathes deeply.
"Perhaps so," he said watching as some morning doves flew by. The chill morning air blew gently by as birds chirped all around them. "Nevertheless, while we are here we should remember the fact that we can't actually hurt anyone back home." He assured her as he stood from his seat walking over to the edge of the balcony. He leans on the railings looking down at the luscious gardens below gently swaying in the breeze.
"I suppose you're right," she says leaning back in her seat with a deep sigh. Before long they hear the bell echo throughout the vicinity. "We should go and join the others, we shouldn't let this drag us down," she says as she stands from her seat heading over towards the screen door.
"Yes I suppose it's the best we could do for now," he says as he follows behind her. "Maybe the day's event will help us clear our minds so we can think more clearly." He states as they fold the blankets they had and place them on a bed nearby before heading out the door.
The place was rather lively as MH had everyone waking up much earlier than usual, the reason behind the whole behind schedule situation. Not only that but he still had to wait for more fighters to show up, again assuming that they agree to join that is. The tacticians enter the mess hall to see it packed up with smashers all sitting at their tables and talking amongst each other. The 5 Elite Six members soon entered the cafeteria and everyone began to settle down.
"Alright everyone, we have compiled a long list of chores and tasks that have to be completed in the next two days to get back on schedule." Samus says as they divide a stack of papers between themselves. "We'll each go around and give you a brief rundown of what needs to be done, and again we truly appreciate the help we're rather grateful for it," she says as they begin heading towards the different tables.
Zelda arrives at the swordsman table shifting through her stack looking for everyone's names. "Alright here we are, so MH has assigned Link along with Pit to test out the new stages he has constructed, to make sure they are up to standards." She says handing the angel a sheet of paper. "Shulk, you've been assigned to help clear out some of the old rooms full of junk to make space for the newcomers." She says turning towards the blonde and handing him a sheet. "Ike, and Robin you've been tasked to help clear out the attic so we may get more furniture and other luxuries for the new rooms." She says handing the tactician and mercenary a sheet of paper. "Raven, you'll be on storage duty with Samus, you'll be helping us with stage items, trophies etc. We must make sure we have a stable supply and an accurate count." She says turning towards said tactician and handing her a sheet. "Alright that is all, dismissed" She finished, and walked away looking over the other sheets in her hand.
"Well we better get started, I want to be done before lunch" Ike says patting Robin on the back as he stood from his seat.
"I don't believe we'll be finished with this task in one day let alone a few hours." Robin states as he stood from his seat and the mercenary scoffed and waved him off.
"I think you're underestimating me," Ike states as they head out the door. "Trust me man, I'm Ike freaking Greil!" He proclaims jabbing his thumb on his chest.
*later*
The tacticians were both outside of Master Hand's office conversing with each other. They had been summoned for an unknown reason, though they figured they could use the break.
"Are you sure it was her?" He said plainly as he leaned against the wall.
"I'm positive!" Raven reaffirmed, she leans to the side with a hand on her hip.
"Strange…" He says plainly as he stroked his chin in thought. "So it seems as though Tharja also has a weird fascination with you as well…" he says as she sighs and slumps her shoulders.
"Every time I glance over my shoulder there she is! Watching…" Raven says as she shivered a bit.
"Hmm, fascinating, this could actually help us understand a bit more about how her mentality seems to work…" Robin thought as Raven placed a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I suppose so," she said before she hums to herself in thought.
"What is it?" He asks as she crosses her arms and turns her head to the side.
"I thought our adventures went exactly the same, but it appears there are some differences..." She says. "I completely envy you about your relationship with Lucina, I hear all these wonderful things about her that could be further from the truth about the one in my world." Raven says as Robin arches an eyebrow rather curiously.
"Oh, and why is that?" He asks as she shook her head gently with her eyes closed.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you" she waved him off and he shrugs his shoulders.
"Try me," he says as she groans unsurly.
"Well, she did try to kill me…" Raven says as Robin chokes on his own spit. "Told you I'd be hard to swallow" she states with a sly shrug of her shoulders.
"I admit I can't picture her doing that, but the question remains as to why she attempted it?" he asks as she shyly turns her head from him again.
"Well…" she begins as she taps her fingers on her arm nervously. "As soon as she arrived she didn't like the fact that I was with her father constantly, she kept insisting that I was trying to seduce him or something." She explained as she kept her shoulders shrugged.
"And were you?" Robin asks as he strokes his chin.
"Of course not!" She insists as he raises his arms up. "Anyway…" She continued before she cleared her throat. "Despite me advising her to shadow me, she still insisted that I had some nefarious plan to infatuate her father!" She explained as she pinched the bridge of her nose with a groan. "And then came that day... See in the distant future someone informs her that Chrom was betrayed and killed by a close ally. What they didn't inform the sheath happy princess was that the person in question was possessed and not in control of their actions!" She says frustratingly as Robin slowly shook his head along. "She discovers that I happen to be the one who comes to, quote on quote, 'betray' Chrom and stab him in the back." She says as she looks down taking a short pause, she exhales slowly before she proceeds. "She came at me with such intent ferocity, had Chrom not been there to consult her I'm pretty sure she might have actually loped my head off…" Raven finished as Robin just placed a hand on her shoulder.
"She was just scared, understand from where she came from she was ready to do anything to protect her father. Even if it meant cutting down his chief tactician and best friend." He assures her as she looks up at him with slow sigh.
"Well, did she try and chop your head off too?" She says as Robin just awkwardly raised his shoulders.
"Well… not exactly, instead she willingly aided me in my plan to end the beast's life once and for all," he says as she throws her arms up frustratingly.
"See, what the hell?!" She protested as she growled under her breath shaking her head. "She wouldn't even give me the light of day, much less hear me out!" She says tapping her boot on the floor as she continued to slowly shake her head.
"Well WAS there a reason she felt so threatened about you being around her father. I mean he is a well to do and good looking man after all, nothing awkward ever occurred between you both?" He asks as she stumbled a little as she began to blush.
"I-I, w-well…" She says as she twiddles her thumbs awkwardly.
*meanwhile inside the office*
"Well according to popular demand these were the candidates." Zelda says with a shrug as she hands MH a tablet with a list of individuals and their profiles.
"I see" He says looking through it as he stroked his chin/palm. "And which of these would you guys recommend?" He says as he sets the tablet down and the other five look at each other unsurely.
"We couldn't say for sure, however we have asked the Robins' to come in and help us with it, after all they know more about these candidates than we ever could." Peach says as Master Hand nods his head with a hum.
"I see, well then bring them in, if they are the experts on the matter I'd love to hear their opinions!" MH states as he rises from his chair and Zelda nods heading towards the doors. She opens them up and sees a surprising sight.
"Master Hand will see y-" She stops as she sees Robin hunched over with a hand against the wall and howling with laughter. He had his other hand holding his stomach as he tried to breathe from laughing so hard. Raven on the other hand was bright red, her face at that point rivaled the color of a tomato. She was sitting in a chair with her face buried in her hands and her knees up to her chest. "Are you two ok?" The hylian princess asks as Robin is trying to compose himself.
"Oh, gods, oh gods, that's hysterical!" He breathed out as he banged his hand against the wall.
"What's up, I want in on this!" Link says as he peeks his head out the room with a grin.
"Me too!" Peach says as she picks up the sides of her dress and quickly runs over. At this point Robin is wiping the tears away from his face as he is breathing heavily.
"Well you see-" He begins but Raven rushes over and grabs him from the collar slamming him against the wall, cutting him off.
"If you tell another soul, I will hang you from the highest peak!" She whispered harshly as he raised his arms up.
"Wasn't going too, sheesh!" he says as she lets him go and he fixes his coat and clears his throat. "Sorry, tacticians' secret" he tells the others with a shrug as they pout.
"Oh boo!" Peach states as she walks away. They both enter the rather large room as MH ushers them to take a seat.
"Very well, you were called here for a very specific reason. One that happens to require your integrate knowledge on the matter." He begins before he turns towards the others, "the rest of you are dismissed." He says as he waves them out the door, leaving the tacticians and hand behind. "Now I would like you to look at this list here," he says handing the pair a tablet. "You've both been here for a little over a week now, and I'm sure you've noticed we're still looking to expand our roster." MH begins, "now I need a little more background information, as to help solidify the decision," he informs the pair.
"These are…" Robin says scrolling through the list as Raven looked over his shoulder.
"Correct, these are a list of fighters from both your dimensions that people have expressed interest to see join our ranks." MH says as they both look back up at him and as he leans back in his giant chair. "Now let's start this Chrom character, the general public has expressed great interest in this man joining our ranks!" He says as Raven lowers her head embarrassingly, and Robin sort of covers his mouth with a balled up fist.
"Well sir *cough* I do believe this fine *cough* fine man *cough* would be wondrous *cough* a wondrous addition to your Smash Brothers…" Robin speaks up using all his willpower to not burst out laughing. He was biting his knuckles as he turned red trying to stifle his laugh. "Wouldn't you agree? *cough* dear sister? *cough*" he says as he turns to his fellow tactician.
"Erm yes, the hunk- erm man would…" She blurts out as she hides her red face in her bangs.
"Are you both alright?" He says seeing Robin look like he's about to literally explode and Raven looks like she had a raging fever. Robin simply waved him off as he tried to control himself.
"We're quite alright sir, it's just a little hot in here is all…" He assures the hand as he tugged on his collar.
"You sure? Because people usually complain that it's too cold in here..." He says as he tilts his head to the side.
"Yeah everything is fine, please move on!" Raven blurts out as he shrugged them off.
"Alright…" He said as he stamped a letter and sealed it. "Now due to the perplexed nature of your dimension we're going to decide which world these fighters come from." He says as Robin nods his head and Raven was still hiding her face. "So where do you think this particular Chrom should come from?" MH asks as he leans forward with his hands on his desk clasped together.
"If I may suggest sir," Robin begins as he shifts to the side leaning on his armrest. "Perhaps this particular one should come from my world, seeing as my twin here hasn't exposed herself to him yet." He proposed as Raven shifted uncomfortably in her seat. She shot him a glare through her bangs and her raging red face.
"Pardon?" MH asks as Robin cleared his throat, pushing back his urge to laugh.
"What I mean is, this whole ordeal should be decided as a mix mash, see while it may appear otherwise, certain characters differ slightly in our respective world. Such is the case with Raven and I, and well if we mix it up it will add some twists and excitement to the tournament!" He finished as the hand nodded along stroking his chin.
"I see, so one from yours and one from hers correct?" He says as Robin nods his head.
"Yes sir!" he responds while Raven finally manages to contain her 'fever.'
"Well this next one here was very much suggested by very popular demand," MH states as he looked over the tablet. "So now about this Tharja?" He says as both tacticians look at him wide eyed.
"Very ill advised sir!" Raven blurts out as Robin furiously nodded his head along.
"I second that!" Robin says standing from his seat. "While she may not be evil by any means, or have malicious intent. She is rather quite powerful with dark magic and could be quite mischievous at times." Robin informs the hand who simply scoffed and waved them off.
"Oh please, magic is of no concern to me I can quell and render anyone's magic useless or quite limited, just ask the literal green haired goddess." He assures them.
"Sir you don't understand!" Raven states as now she is the one to raise from her seat. "While Tharja, bless her soul, does what's best despite her interest and personal opinions. I say this with the utmost respect, Tharja would not be an appropriate addition to the roster!" Raven states while MH looked back and forth between the two.
"Are we sure that this isn't just a personal matter rather than a valid opinion?" He says while they frustratingly sigh. Raven snatches the letter off his desk, tearing it up as he gets up to protest but she cuts him off.
"Nooooo!" She says as she tosses the torn pieces of paper in the air.
"But-" He says before Robin cuts him off this time.
"Noooooo!" He states in an exaggerating manner.
"Alright have it your way you buffoons, however that was Lucina's invitation you just ripped up!" He says as Raven awkwardly glanced at the flakes of paper at her feet.
"Oh…" she says plainly with a blank expression.
"Alright then, now tell me about Lucina then, you think that warrior would fare here?" Master Hand asks as he crosses his arms.
"Well, maybe, I will say that she is dedicated, caring and fiercely loyal to a fault." Robin explain as he took his seat
"And a complete psychopath…" Raven whispered under her breath.
"I see, and well the real reason I asked is well, she is a direct descendant of Marth correct?" MH asks as the tacticians look at each other.
"That is correct sir, she does share his lineage" Robin affirms.
"Excellent, well I'd thought I'd inform you then that he also happens to be a participant of this tournament!" MH says as the tacticians gasp in shock
"Shut the front door!" Raven exclaims.
"Yeah, unfortunately he hasn't arrived yet, see he is still handling things in his kingdom, you know leaving preparations for the kingdom to manage while he is gone." He informed them as they turned to look at one another surprised. "Yes and think about how excited it would be for them to meet, not to mention the opportunities this place opens up for her. I mean like yourselves she feels out of place there, and well this would offer her a nice home while she works stuff out like yourselves." He says as Raven sort of rubbed the back of her head.
"Well there is a slight problem with that..." she begins, "see shortly after the war she just took off on her own to the unknown, we haven't seen or heard of her since…" Raven informs the glove as he just waved her off.
"That is of little importance, I'd be able to find her regardless, the real shame however is how you happened to have shred her invitation to smithereens!" He says motioning to the scattered shreds of paper littered on the floor.
"I'm sure I could fix it if you happen to have some tape… " she says, quickly taking the shreds into her hands.
"It's too late the invitation has already been sealed for the other candidate." He says while pointing a finger at Robin.
"Pardon may say so sir, but isn't it a bit rash to just suddenly and quickly bring her in?" Robin interjects.
"Nonsense my boy, besides I don't really have the luxury to sit around and ponder these things, I've got to start something soon or we'll all be in quite a big mess." He informs the tactician.
"But you're just bringing in everyone from his side!" Raven states as she crossed her arms.
"Well that wouldn't have happened if you hadn't shredded the invitation to the other Lucina, do you think I have time to sit here and type out more of the same invitations?" He states with a snap as she hung her head. "However, should his Chrom for whatever reason, not accept I'll have no choice but to extend the offer to your Chrom…" He says as Robin turned his head to her with a grin of amusement.
"Well you might expose yourself to Chrom after all…" He said rather amused.
"S-Shut up!" She blurts out, tossing the paper shreds at him while covering her face. Just then Zelda, Samus and Link materialize into the office with a bright flash.
"The invitations were sent" Samus states as she removed her helmet.
"Both Chroms' refused on the spot, see they didn't really feel compelled to leave their kingdoms during post-war rebuilding efforts." Zelda informs the hand.
"You went to both worlds?" MH asked rather surprised.
"Well yeah you made a big deal about us doing our best to not return empty handed..." Link states.
"Yes well I fear that if it's not done the fans will riot and parade around town with my head on a pike!" MH says rather frustratingly.
"Well now what, are you going to extend the portal and open up another rift?" Samus asked as the Hand shook his head and stood from his seat.
"Nonsense, there is no point in me merging another world, two is more than enough already, however I will give the people what they asked for. Not exactly what they asked for but it'll do!" He states as he turns towards his desk picking up his phone. "Yes, bring me the head Mii" he says before he hangs up, soon after a Mii enters the room with a large briefcase. He had a fancy suit that rivaled that of Master Hands, and he bore a striking resemblance to a certain developer. "I would like you to create a costume based around the likeness of this man." MH instructs the Mii handinding him a small portrait, he looks over the portrait of Chrom before he bowed, turned on his heels and headed out the door.
"If I may suggest sir, since I read on your holographic likenesses you use dubbed 'assist trophies' I may actually have a suggestion of my own to fix this issue." Robin speaks up as everyone turns to give the tactician their attention.
*scene transition*
"ON MY MARK!"
"BOLGANONE!"
"WE'RE NOT DONE YET!"
Robin and Chrom both bring their weapons down on the sandbag making it crash to the floor. Chrom then fades out like an assist trophy as Robin lands on the ground again. He hears everyone begin to clap all around him and he takes a bow.
"That's perfect!" Master Hand proclaims, "Now lets see yours" he says as he turns to Raven. She steps up to the center of the training room as everyone steps back giving her space. She begins to glow in a multicolored aura as she faces the sandbag.
"JOIN WITH ME!"
"THUNDER!"
"EAT THIS!"
Both her and Chrom bring their weapons down as Robin had done previously. Chrom fades as everyone claps and cheers as she lands back down.
"Now there is just one more matter to attend to then," MH states as he turned to the trio of the Elite Six. He hands them an envelope before he places his hands behind his back. Zelda gives him a nod before she turns to the other two. They all then press a button on their wrist device and disappear in a flash of bright light. "Honestly I'd say you two saved me quite some trouble, I knew it was no mistake picking you two." He says turning to the silver haired twins. "Well then you may return to your previous activities now." He says before he snapped and poofed out of the room.
"I prefer it this way" Raven spoke up with a sigh, "having them here, but not here at the same time you know?" She says resting her chin on her fist.
"I bet you would, I'd imagine you'd hate having such exposure to Chrom…" He joked as he began to chuckle. She growls to herself while shooting him a quick glare.
"Honestly the one person I'd thought I could open up to was me, what was I thinking..." Raven sighs as she slides a hand down her face.
"Forgive me Rave, this is highly uncharacteristic of me. This whole having a sibling thing is all new to me…" he says leaning against the wall of the training room.
"It's odd, this reminds me of the countless times I watched Lissa and Chrom interact from afar." She added as a smile crept on her face and she gently shook her head.
"Yeah Lissa sure liked to tease, I'll give you that!" Robin states as he hummed rather amused.
"Make no mistake however, you'll slip up one day too, and I'll be there, trust me I'll be there!" She says rather sinisterly while rubbing her hands together like a villain.
