Previously, in Pokémon: The Lost Child, Prinplup and Grovyle were practicing their new moves when they stumbled across an injured Zorua. They learned from her about a murder that she stumbled across. During which they faced down the two assassins as well as a member of a secret organization called The Brotherhood. After Zoroark tells them about how she is after this organization Prinplup and Grovyle are left to ponder what to do with this information.

"Grovyle I can't stop thinking about what Zoroark told us," Prinplup said.

"I understand that I can't stop thinking about it either. The mere idea of a secret evil organization that is willing to resort to murder to protect something is quite frightening," Grovyle said.

"Frightening? I have never seen you scared of anything before," Prinplup asked, surprised.

"There are just some things that even I am afraid of. We need to avoid these guys at all costs. We are not even close to being ready to take a criminal organization on by ourselves."

"Normally I would disagree with you, but honestly, I am scared of them as well. We both almost died due to them and were only saved thanks to Zoroark," Prinplup replied.

In the distance, Aegislash was keeping a close eye on the two and was enjoying this conversation very much.

"My master, the two are too terrified to stand up to us," Aegislash said.

"That is very nice, Aegislash. However, I want to make certain that they would never dare stand up to us."

"I could create some sort of event that would terrify them even further, like, for instance, an attack."

"Wonderful idea, Aegislash. I look forward to hearing your results."

Aegislash now had the approval of his master to go through with this idea. The many possibilities he could think up to scare them into never crossing The Brotherhood again, he didn't even know where to begin.

"I wanted to ask more about that Aegislash that we faced," Prinplup asked.

"Oh yeah, that, Aegislash is not a Pokémon you want to mess with. It can shift between its blade and shield forms at will, it has powerful attacks and a lot of training. We are not taking that thing on," Grovyle responded.

Grobyle, I think it's time for another practice battle against each other now that we have honed our skills," Prinplup said.

"I think that is an amazing idea. It had been some time since we had had a friendly battle with each other. How about we use that field over there."

"That is perfect."

Both Prinplup and Grovyle got into position, preparing for this practice battle. They both knew that there weren't any real stakes, but they were still going to give it their all. After all, nobody wants to be the one who loses a friendly match.

"Are you ready, Grovyle?" Prinplup asked.

"I was born ready."

Grovyle rushed in with his leaf blade out, already ready to make a massive hit right off the bat. But Prinplup saw this move coming and blocked the hit with his metal claw. Prinplup then backed away and launched some bubbles at Grovyle, which, while they did little damage, slowed him down enough that Prinplup got a hit in with his metal claw. Grovyle got back up and detected the next metal claw and countered with a pound.

Grovyle attempted to go in for the leaf blade, but Prinplup dodged out of the way and shot some more bubbles. This time something was different, Prinplup's bubbles were coming out more rapidly, Grovyle was able to take them easily but both of them were taking notice of this change. Grovyle attempted to strike Prinplup with another leaf blade, but Prinplup dodged and started running around.

Grovyle was faster than Prinplup, though, so he ran circles around Prinplup, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Prinplup was trying to not give Grovyle an opening by shooting rapid bubbles all over the place to block his path. Grovyle decided to try a new strategy he thought of. He jumped up into the air, aimed his leaf blade and dived down towards Prinplup. Prinplup did not see that move coming and he was hit by the leaf blade, which dealt a massive blow and knocked him out.

"Impressive job, Prinplup. I can feel you improving," Grovyle said.

"Thanks, I feel like I am getting much stronger as well."

"What was that move you pulled off? I have never seen you shoot bubbles that fast before?"

"I have no idea. It kind of just happened. I guess it's a new move."

"It is pretty much just a better version of your old bubble move," Grovyle commented.

After a bit of time, Prinplup would try out his new rapid bubble move, and after a bit of time, he was able to get the hang of it. However, Prinplup was now having trouble firing only one bubble and could now seemly only do it rapidly. He was wondering how that could be the case.

"So how is that new move of yours going, Prinplup?" Grovyle asked.

"I am getting the hang of it. There is one weird thing though, now I seem to be having trouble doing my old single bubble move."

"My best guess is that we can only store so many moves in our minds, so you ended up forgetting your old one since you have a new, better version of it."

"I suppose that does make sense, I just hope that in the future I don't end up forgetting something really important as a result."

"I have a feeling that won't happen. We are built to use this kind of stuff well."

In the distance, Aegislash was getting ready for a major attack. Aegislash tracked down a herd of Tauros and started using mental tricks to round each of them up. He then used various attacks, mostly his shadow ball, to lure the Tauros closer to Prinplup and Grovyle. Then he used slashes on the ground, creating a massive shockwave that scared all the Tauros at once. As the final kicker, he planted a piece of evidence on each of the Tauros that suggested they were from The Brotherhood.

Prinplup and Grovyle pretty much immediately noticed the ground shaking. At first, they both thought it was some kind of earthquake, but when Grovyle looked closer, he noticed it was a stampede.

"Run for cover, Prinplup," Grovyle shouted as loudly as he could.

Prinplup ran to a nearby lake and hid inside of it. Being a water type gave him the advantage of being able to breed underwater. Grovyle did not have this advantage, and due to them being in a field, there were no trees nearby. Grovyle was forced to use his detect block the stampede. Once the stampede came, Grovyle's detect did the job for a while. However, after some time, Grovyle's detect started failing. Prinplup realized he was in trouble, so he jumped out of the water and quickly fired some bubbles, slowing the Tauros down and allowing Grovyle to jump high enough to regain his footing.

Grovyle landed on one of the Tauros, jumping from Tauros to Tauros until the stampede stopped and Grovyle landed safely.

"Are you okay, Grovyle?" Prinplup asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay. That was close though."

"Where did that stampede come from and why did we get caught in the middle?"

"I think I might have an idea because I noticed some sort of marking on one of the Tauros that said "The Brotherhood."

"Wait, so they are from that Brotherhood?" Prinplup wondered.

"It seems so. I don't understand it either. Why would The Brotherhood have some sort of Tauros stampede sent after us."

"Could it be a coincidence?" Prinplup asked Grovyle.

"I mean, I guess it's not impossible, but the timing seems too odd to dismiss it like that."

Unfortunately, I will probably have to agree with you on that."

"I was already against us going after The Brotherhood, but after this incident, there is no way that we are. It is way too dangerous," Grovyle commented.

"I hope that everything goes well for Zoroark," Prinplup commented.

"Well, whatever happens to her is out of our control. She made her choice, now it is time for us to make ours."

Still, it feels bad to just ignore this, but at the same time, I do feel that you are right."

"Now let's get back to practicing especially now in case something like this happens again," Grovyle said.

Meanwhile, Aegislash had seen how his plan went and went to report the result back to his master.

"My master, my plan worked. I don't think we will need to worry about those two ever again."

"Good job, Aegislash. Now report back to the fortress. I have a new job for you."
