Her eyes began to blink slowly as she adjusted her eyes to the room. She looked around until she connected to another pair of eyes staring at her. Or should I say, another 6 pairs of eyes…
Lucina quickly screeched in horror, throwing the furry little monster and in turn her blanket to the other side of the room. She stood too fast and panicked however and fell off her bed knocking over a lamp and a small table in the process. She landed on the floor fat on her back with a sudden thud. All this was followed by a series of loud and audible snorts of amusement from the other side. Lucina groaned as she slowly stood up from the floor glaring at the bemused dark angel.
"It stopped being funny the first five times Pittoo!" She proclaims as she stands up from the floor.
"No it's actually still just as hilarious!" He states between his laughter. He picks up his fake plastic spider juggling it in his hands. "What do you got against the little guy anyway?" He says while slowly petting it. "He's just an adorable little fuzzball!"
"That thing is not adorable and is an evil spawn!" She quickly retorts while making her bed.
"How could you say such a thing!" he says as he acts offended. "Look, I think he likes you!" he says, dangling the thing in front of her. She slapped it away as she visibly shivered much to his amusement. He leaves the room shortly after but not before dangling the thing from the coat hanger behind the door, much to her annoyance.
After she freshened up she headed towards the door reluctant to place her hand on the knob. The spider dangled there motionlessly but it looked so lifelike that it seemed as if it would jump at her any moment. She reached from the knob and quickly sped out of the room slamming the door behind her. She goes to the elevator while looking at the large windows at the end of the hall, showing nothing but a sheet of white. It was going to be another cold snowy day it seemed. She placed her hand on the glass that felt like a block of ice. She used the sleeve of her sweater to clear the window seeing the yard was now a vast field of white. The elevator dings open as she saw some of the kids having a snowball fight outside.
"There was a snowstorm last night" she hears from behind her. She turns to see Marth standing beside her looking down at the yard.
"I've never seen this much snow!" she responds. Marth just chuckled a little as he looked in thought.
"This is nothing, during the second tourney we got hit with a blizzard that lasted days and we ended up walled in by all the snow. The tournament was even cancelled for a short period." He says with a light smile on his face, seemingly it was one of his good memories from back then.
"Why are you up here?" She asked, seeing him holding a small sealed box under his arm.
"Oh I just needed to place something in my room, I best be going, have a pleasant day Lucina!" He says with a short bow before he took off. She just took one last look outside before heading into the elevator to the first floor. It was all decorated and tidy, well more tidy than usual that is. Everyone seemed to be rather thrilled for the visit, well almost everyone, there were some who were not as festive…
She entered the cafeteria that was rather lively at the time with lots of excited chatter going about. She spots Dark Pit at the far back at the villains table leaning back in his chair. His eyes met hers and he just taps on his wrist while she slumps her shoulders and visibly groans. She heads over to the line and grabs certain items in a certain amount arranged in a certain way. She then proceeds towards Dark Pits table and places the tray in front of him and begins to walk off. This had been her routine for the last week since she agreed to do favors for him, since he carried them during the triathlon.
"No drink?" He quickly states making her stop in her tracks. "Come on blue you should have the hang of this by now" he says while she slowly turns to him. He just sat there with his arms crossed and a very sadistic grin on his face. "Go on shoo, shoo!" He says motioning her away with his hands to fetch him a drink. Dark Link who was next to him at the time had his head in his hands trying to contain his laughter, and failing miserably. She just quickly turns and walks away, she was powerless against him now. If she ever refuses any one of his demands she loses all of her hard earned cash. And she would never ever allow herself to give him that satisfaction. It was always the same, a medium cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream and a bendy straw. She would tolerate it more if he didn't make it his goal to humiliate her in front of his "friends" all the time.
Although she did bring it on herself though. Around the third day of service she had "accidentally" spilled hot coffee on him to get back at him. She strategically placed it on the edge of his overfilled plate so it would spill when he reached for it. Well making him the laughing stock of the table that day was a BIG mistake. As afterwards he was deliberately going out of his way to humiliate her any way he could. From giving him a foot rub which was embarrassing as hell, to even doing the angels laundry, which he deliberately made hard to clean. How? Well from grass stains to ink stains he always found a way to get a hard stain on his clothes. Being his foot stool while he watched TV was another, and of course serving his meals which he always had to complicate. There were many other things too but these were the more drastic ones.
She goes back to his table with his drink as he jokes his Dark Link and Wario. She places his cup down on the table and quickly heads off. "Hey, where's my sprinkles?" He states as she clenched her fists tightly and turned around.
"What?" She says as he scoots the drink away from him.
"I wanted sprinkles on my drink!" He says as he crosses his arms again.
"You didn't say-"
You didn't ask" he cuts her off. She was so done with this she wanted to throw it in his face.
"Just one more day, ONE more day, don't give in don't give in!" She was repeating to herself in her head. Although she was now glaring at him and he took the challenge as he stood from his seat.
"What, got something to say, don't like the way I'm running things. Then just say it, I dare you! say no to me!" He challenged as he placed his phone in her face. The voice command was active, if she said anything remotely in defiance her entire bank will be cleared out in a second. "Well?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Fine..." She breathed out through clenched teeth. She takes his cup and heads back to the beverage stands as he takes his seat again rather amused. She got back to him with his sprinkled drink and he finally is satisfied with his order. She quickly heads off afterwards before he changes his mind on something, which he had done before. She heads over towards the ladies table and just sat there quietly while listening to their stories as usual.
*Meanwhile*
"So, you finally gave thought as to who you are bringing?" Robin asks as he takes a bite of his bagel.
"I did actually!" Raven states rather thrillingly, "I invited Tharja!" She says rather enthusiastically.
"You. Did. What?!" Robin exclaims before he began choking in his bagel. "Are you INSANE!" Robin says in between his coughing fits.
"Calm down bubbo," she assures him as she chuckled to herself. "I invited Lissa, although the look on your face was priceless!" Raven said rather amused. "Lucina settled on her mother" Raven adds as she leaned against the wall with her back and crossed her arms.
"Uh yeah, I meant to tell you about that..." He said slowly rubbing the back of his head.
"That you invited Chrom?" She quickly says.
"Look he's my best friend so of course it was going to be my choice!" He states, "you should know that better than anyone." He adds quickly.
"I guess" she says with a shrug. "Still you should've informed her" Raven states as she took a sip from her beverage.
"You know she much rather set me on fire than have a word with me," he says as he slumped his shoulders.
"Yeah and it was all according to your plan!" She retorts. "You could have told me at least..." she says.
"Regardless, what's done is done, no point in sulking about it." He says with a deep sigh.
"Hey don't forget I get the bench area today" she states as she prepares to leave.
"You had it all day yesterday, it's my day!" He says in response.
"We'll see about that." she states taking the rest of his bagel and walking off.
"Hey, stop doing that!" He whined.
*inside the cafeteria*
Lucina was lost in her thoughts with her head resting on her palm. A tray was set next to her and Raven took her seat at the table. "Morning daydreamer!" She says giving the bluenette a warm smile.
"Oh hey, where'd you been?" Lucina asked as the tactician hadn't been around all morning.
"Eh just finishing up some last minute things, also I had to go turn in my invitation." Raven informs her before taking a bite of her pancake.
"Who'd you end up picking?" Lucina asked curiously.
"I ultimately ended up deciding on Lissa, I once made a pact with her that if we ever got to go somewhere exciting we'd bring the other along." Raven said with a short shrug before taking another bite of her pancake.
"ARGH!" someone shouted audibly, and everyone turned towards the villains table where Dark Pits food seemingly exploded on him. "WHAT. THE. FU-" He paused when he saw something on his tray, he slowly took it out to see it was one of Pit's explosive gummies. "PIT!" Dark Pit exclaimed while standing up from his seat while slamming his fists on the table. He began scanning the entire cafeteria quickly for any sight of his light counterpart.
A squeal came from the front shortly after as the angel froze into place. "You're dead…" Dark Pit breathed out slowly as Pit dropped his tray and bolted out the doors with Dark Pit hot on his heels.
"Boys get back here!" Palutena quickly exclaimed as she chased after the two angels.
"Oh Pit you didn't!" Lucina groaned as she buried her head in her hands with a groan and shrunk into her seat.
*later*
"Pit what were you thinking?" Lucina sighed as she pressed an ice bag over his left eye.
"Ah!" He quickly jumps at the touch. "Like I said I wanted to help, I know how obnoxious my brother can be" he stated with a short shrug.
"I told you I can handle him just fine" Lucina assured him gently pressing the ice bag on his face again.
"I know, this was more personal honestly, but you needed that too. You have to admit his face was priceless." Pit said with a short laugh before Lucina pressed the bag on his eye again.
"Hmm, It's not too bad" she informed, taking his face into her hands and giving him a look over. He didn't look all that banged up, just a semi swollen eye. "And don't worry I'll make sure he gets what he deserves ok!" She assured him while ruffling his hair.
"Thanks!" He said in his usual cheery voice with a big smile. Except there was a big gap where one of his front teeth used to be. She should've kept a closer eye on him from when he approached her earlier…
*flashback*
Lucina was walking towards the cafeteria and stood in front of the large door. She took a deep breath and prepared herself, she knew what was coming.
"Pssssssst!" Came someone from around the corner. "Hey you!" The figure said who was hiding around the corner. She turns to see a person with an overly large grey hoodie beckoning her around the corner. She just looked around before she cautiously approached. When she came around the corner there was no one there however. She just took a step back and shrugged before she turned, just then however she was dragged into a utility closet.
"Hey!" She exclaimed but the person motioned her to keep it down. "Who are you, what do you want?" She asked as he stuck his head out the door and looked in all directions before heading back in.
"I hear you've been having trouble with the Pittoo, I can help you take him out" Said the person, who was obviously Pit with a very bad deep voice impression.
"Pit?" She said with a soft sigh.
"Shhsshhshssshshshhshhhh!" He quickly exclaimed while pinching her lips together. He then just slumped his shoulders and removed his hoodie, revealing his now messy brown hair.
"What are you doing?" She said in a hushed voice.
"I'm planning revenge against my sadistic ass of a brother!" He whispered harshly.
"Why?" She asked rather confusedly
"He filled my snow boots with glue again!" He said demonstrating how they wouldn't come off.
"Ok but what would you possibly do to get him back?" She asked as he looked around before taking out a paper bag from his coat.
"These are special gummies invented, they are flavorless and melt into hot or warm food, however after a while they explode!" He says excitedly while the bluenette facepalmed.
"Pit, everyone knows about your gummies since you kept bragging about them. He's going to know it was you, and trust me it won't end well for either of you." She warned him but he just waved her off assuringly.
"No see I improved the formula so they melt faster so there will be no evidence!" He states.
"Pit no!" She says taking his baggy away and walking off. He steps out of the closet in a huff like a child.
"YOU CAN'T STOP ME LUCINA, YOU HEAR ME, THINGS ARE ALREADY IN MOTION THAT CANNOT BE UNDONE!" He exclaimed loudly while shaking his fists in the air. She just waved him off and entered the cafeteria and spotted the dark angel lounging around.
As she was filling up his tray Pit entered the cafetera with a large evil grin on his face. He spotted the bluenette slowly going and getting the items he anticipated the dark angel would want. "We'll see who gets the last laugh!" He states to himself and begins to cackle to himself.
"Ahem!" Someone says behind him and he sees Cpt. Falcon standing there tapping his foot. There were several others waiting behind him as Pit was seemingly holding up the line.
"Oh, sorry…" He says and steps back before he resumes his cackling.
*end flashback*
She walked to the far back of an empty hall one of the lesser known quadrants of the mansion. This part looked more like an abandoned house than part of a grand luxurious mansion, and for good reason too. There was a small booth there with a tall bloated mii behind the glass staring at a monitor with his arms crossed. She tapped on the glass showing him her smash ID card and he nodded and slipped a clipboard through the glass. She filled out her name and time of visit as per usual, the mii took the clipboard back and looked it over before he looked back at her. She then hears a loud buzzing and a large metallic door opens up and the Mii motions her inside with his head.
She pocketed her ID and went through the door which later slammed shut behind her with a series of loud metallic clicks. The air was thick and the hall was barely lit with only a few lamps here and there dangling from the ceiling for light. She begins slowly walking towards the back looking at the different rooms some of which look like they haven't been used in a while. She slots one that was completely dark and had the remains of what looked like Primid from the war. She stops near the back as a pair of ruby eyes stare back at her from within a dark cell. She steps forward and the cell is lit up with blinding bluish white lights all around.
"Finally, I'm getting bored!" Dark Pit exclaims as he gets up from a bench in the back.
"Don't get your hopes up," she tells him plainly and crosses her arms. His smile falters and is replaced by a scowl instead. "What were you thinking?!" She tells him plainly as he just leans his head against the glass that separated them.
"Whatever do you mean?" He says plainly. She just sighs while looking off to the side in thought before shaking her head.
"This is pointless..." she tells herself. He just raised an eyebrow and she turned around ready to leave.
"Hey you're not just going to leave me here are you!?" He exclaimed as he banged his hand on the glass.
"It'll do you some good, you can't just go around doing whatever you please Pittoo!" She tells him and he just scoffed and turned his head. "You could've left it alone but you just had to go after Pit and not only that but you gave him a black eye, what the hell is wrong with you!" She berated him and he waved her off simply.
"I already told everyone, I didn't touch that dork he ran into a wall!" He states and she just shook her head in disbelief at his excuse.
"That is by far the worst lie you have ever come up with!" She says while shaking her head.
"What if I command you to let me out, you know you can't refuse" he says smugly and she simply shrugs.
"Say it all you want, I won't refuse yes, but it's not in my control to let you out anyways so it's pointless" she states as he just tisks to himself very audibly.
"You did this didn't you, you had this all planned out!" he says as he pressed himself against the glass. "Pit deliberately ran into that wall, I know he's stupid but he can't be that dumb!"
"Whatever, I'm out of here" she says waving him off and turning around. He reached out from the small hole and took a hold of her sweater slamming her against the glass. "Let me go!" She demanded but he held his hold firm.
"You think I don't know about your little get together you've been having with Pit, now he's a complete idiot so I doubt he did this alone which leaves you, you are the accomplice and let me tell you something. You don't just mess with me unless you are willingly looking to get hurt." He says as she was right in his face separated only by a wall of glass.
"I had nothing to do with that!" She exclaimed as he continued to glare at her. "And so what you are only allowed to mess with other people and you expect them to just take it, but Naga forbid anyone mess with you!?" She states but those crimson eyes kept their glare.
"I only mess with PIt because he annoys me to no end." He states and she just scoffed. "Besides that I never go as far as to throw someone into a hellhole like this!" He states angrily pressing her against the glass tighter.
"Oh please!" she says rather mockingly. "In any case I told Pit NOT to do what he did because I know how much of a child you can be!" She exclaimed, still trying to loosen his hold but he kept a firm grasp.
"You expect me to believe that!" He shoots back.
"Believe what you want, I could give less of a rat's furry little ass what you think!" She retorts. She then grabbed both his arms and put her weight on them making him let go and retreat his arms in pain. "And don't you dare try something like that with me again!" She fired back shortly after. She just adjusted her sweater and turned around and began to walk away.
"You better pray I don't get out of here soon!" He said as he slammed a fist against the glass. "You hear me, you and tat Pit-stain better pray!" He shouted as she left the vicinity.
"What a nutcase!" She exclaimed to herself.
*later*
She was walking towards the back where she was going to spend the rest of the morning with Raven as she had promised. She walked outside and found it eerily quiet despite her having seen like half the mansion head outside earlier. There was a gentle breeze with snow slowly falling towards the ground.
"INCOMING!" Someone shouted behind her as a large metallic object landed on the floor with a bomb-omb sticker on it. Lucina just looked at it puzzled while slightly tilting her head to the side. The thing then exploded sending snowballs in every direction and blasting Lucina into the wall. "AIR RAID!" the person shouted now revealed to be Fox as a siren started blaring an alarm. The world seemed to be spinning and her ears were starting to ring. She tilts her head up to see Charizard flying up above them with a propeller on his nose oddly enough. On his back was Falco wearing a flight suit with goggles and everything. "It's circling back!" Fox shouted as he and several others ducked for cover as Falco dropped another snowball bomb.
"Don't just sit there, MOVE!" Sonic exclaimed, taking her by the hand and ducking into a nearby trench. He was wearing a combat helmet and snow camo gear.
"Suck on this McCloud!" Falco shouted from up above as he dropped another bomb which exploded on impact.
"Where's the anti-aircraft artillery!" Fox shouted as Falco circled around for another attack.
"What the hell is going on?" Lucina exclaimed as she shook Sonic by the shoulders.
"Didn't you hear, we're all fighting for control over that station over to the north a click from here!" Sonic replied, handing her some binoculars and pointing towards the distance.
"BLAST THAT THING OUT OF THE SKY!" Fox shouted as a giant cannon emerged from the snow and started shooting giant snowballs at Charizard. He gets hit and spirals out of control before he and Falco crash land in the woods in a large explosion of snow.
"You mean you're all fighting for the bench area with the little roof on it…" Lucina states plainly with a blank expression on her face.
"Lieutenant Hedgehog!" Fox says as he approached them wearing the same thing as the blue blur, "you were supposed to keep a lookout how did that get past you!" Fox demanded as he crossed his arms with a huff.
"Sir, I was running reconnaissance sir!" Sonic said quickly. "Ness was left on lookout sir!" Sonic adds shortly after and then Fox notices the bluenette beside her.
"Who's this then?" He asks.
"New recruit sir!" Sonic quickly pipes up before she could respond. Fox just looked at her sceptical before he just simply shrugged his shoulders.
"Take her to the commander then lieutenant!" Fox quickly ordered.
"Yes sir General McCloud!" Sonic said with a salute and took her hand and dashed off.
"Hey!" She exclaimed before being dragged a whole two yards. "I don't move that fast!" She said as she got off the ground and shook the snow off her coat.
"Right, sorry…" Sonic said sheepishly before motioning her into a large tent. She opened up a flap and saw a small group huddled around a large table in the middle with maps scrawled out.
"Shulk, Peach and Pikachu are confirmed KIA, Pit and Ness are still MIA however" Roy informed the group. Sonic clears his throat and they all turn towards him and the so-called commander.
"I got us a new recruit commander!" Sonic pipes up and the commander approaches.
"Oh Lucina, thank Naga!" Raven exclaimed as she removed the hood off her large winter coat. "I'm low on troops you couldn't have come at a better time!" Raven says as she embraced Lucina in a tight hug.
"And um erm, we lost the fountain grounds" Sonic added shortly after.
"And Kirby did he make it out?" Raven asked but Sonic just removed his helmet and held it to his chest as he hung his head.
"How does he keep advancing so fast!?" Raven exclaimed as she slammed her fist on the table.
"Well I did my reconnaissance as you asked and I found out how he's doing it, he managed to recruit a large chunk of the villain function." Sonic said, handing her his phone which he took a picture of. The picture was of Robin shaking hands with Bowser.
"How?!" Raven exclaimed in disbelief, "we need to find out how he did it and turn his own troops against him!" She says smacking a fist into an open palm. "We need someone to infiltrate them from within, Sheik!" Raven said, turning towards the sheikah who nodded and disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"You waged a war on Robin?" Lucina asked puzzled.
"Pretty much yeah…" Raven said with a short shrug.
"Im in!" Lucina stated quickly.
"Are you-"
"Yes, now what are we doing?" She says rather enthusiastically.
"Great, we're preparing for an assault on his munitions camp!" Raven says.
"Oh and commander, we better do it quickly, they are planning something big for their next attack." Sonic informs her before he dashed off.
"This is bad." Raven said as she walked over to her table and leaned on it. "General McCloud is doing his best but somehow he keeps getting the upper hand I don't get it!" Raven said looking over her battle plans and shifting papers around.
"I think it's rather simple, he's not calling the shots" Roy spoke up.
"What?" Raven asked while turning towards the redhead.
"Think about it, he made someone he trusts call the shots cause he knows anything he thinks of you'll think of it too and know how to counteract it. He's got you looking for any hint of him in the battle that has left a blindspot in your strategy." He says as she looks baffled.
"No, he wouldn't, his ego wouldn't let anyone else take the reins of his operation, unless…" Raven said as she looked lost in thought. "That bastard thinks he can bamboozle me!" Raven exclaims, "I'll show him, I'll… I'll…" She begins and then looks around puzzled.
"If I may suggest, we should strike at his shed outpost which is completely under guarded and gives us an opening straight to his fort." Roy said as he pointed at the spots on the map.
"Why would we waste time doing that when we could strike at his munitions outpost, if they run out of supplies they will fall in no time!" Raven started marking a big red X on the map.
"Because it's my plan, and because he knows you will attack there, from what Sonic told us he has the majority of his forces there and he fortified it down. He will never see my plan coming because like you he'll be too busy looking for any signs of your hand in the battle plan." Roy stated.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but you are right, in order to beat Robin I have to use anything but my mind, since he could practically read it…" Raven said with a defeated sigh, "alright gather the remaining troops we move out in 3!" Raven said as Roy saluted and left the tent along with Little Mac and Lucario.
"I wish Pit was here, we are still at an advantage since Robin has complete control of the skies." Raven said to herself as she looked over her forces, or what was left of them. "Alright listen up we're gathering up for a final push towards the main fort before he wipes us out. Roy will be in charge of this operation so I expect you to give him your full cooperation!" Raven finished as she stepped aside and Roy took over. Their forces consisted of Raven, Roy, Lucario, Sheik, Greninja, Fox, Sonic, Little Mac, Yoshi, Dk, DDK, Olimar, Toon Link and Lucas…
*later*
They were crawling along the snow very slowly to avoid detection armed with snowball rifles. "The outpost is dead ahead, two clicks to the south," Roy whispered as he handed Raven the binoculars. "Looks abandoned…" Roy said while looking around.
"Looks can be deceiving" Raven states, "alright everyone keep your eyes peeled and in a tight formation, we don't know what we're getting into." Raven spoke up before she proceeded.
"Lucina, take Olimar and Mac and go around the back we'll catch them by surprise!" Fox says while turning to the bluenette.
"Copy!" She responded and took off in the opposite direction.
"The rest of you rally on me, keep your head down and move fast!" He said as he stood and made a dash towards the shed.
Lucina crawls along towards the back making sure to keep low enough to be out of view of the sheds widows. They both meet back up at the door to the shed after making sure the area was clear. Fox places his hand on the knob and starts counting down with his other hand. Once he put his last finger down they all burst through the door with weapons held high and alert.
"It's empty…" Fox says while lowering his weapon. Just then they hear a mechanical whirring and Fox quickly drops to the floor as a giant snowball flies overhead. They hear cackling coming from the back of the shed as a clown car emerges with a smoking cannon. "KOOPALINGS!" Fox shouts as the walls of the shed all break down and they are surrounded by all 8 clown cars.
"Every man for himself!" Toon Link cries out as he takes off running full speeds into the woods.
"You get back here maggot!" Fox barked but was blasted by a clown car and frozen in place.
"We lost Fox!" Sonic shouts in panic while running around in circles.
"Aim for the raiders!" Raven shouts as she takes aim at Lemmy nailing him on the head. He loses control of his clown car and it spirals out of control before it crashes on a pile of snow.
"Aim for the raider!" Roy shouts as he takes aim and begins firing. It wasn't looking good for team Raven however as the Koopalings were forcing them back with volleys of giant snowballs.
"Lucas watch out!" Raven called out but it was too late he was pelted on two sides and frozen into place. "We lost Lucas!" She calls frustrated. "Retreat into the woods, Diddy gives us cover fire!" She says shortly after. The monkey nods and ignites his jetpack and takes to the air firing off his twin snowball popguns as cover.
"Don't let them escape!" Bowser jr exclaimed as he slammed his little fist on his clown car. As they rush after the group but Diddy manages to shoot Wendy koopa off her clown car, making it spiral out of control and slam into Ludwig's car and they both crash to the ground. Bowser jr growls angrily as he takes aim at Diddy and fires a volley of snowballs at him in rapid succession. He manages to nail the little monkey after a few tries knocking him out of the air. Dk roared in anger and charged at Bowser jr head on who just smirked.
"Dk no!" Roy called out but it was too late he went out into the open and got pelted by all the koopalings at once.
"We got to move!" Raven states as she grabs Roy by the arm and goes into the woods.
"After them! CHARGE!" Bowser jr shouts at the top of his lungs putting his clown car at max speed and charging after the group. "You can run but you can't hide!" He retorts as he and the other koopalings zoom past the group.
After they were sure they were gone the group emerged from the pile of snow they buried themselves in. "Now what, we lost a chunk of our battalion back there!" Toon Link states as he crossed his little arms.
"Yeah no thanks to you!" Raven fires back as she glares at the little hylian.
"Hey you said retreat I retreated, just following orders lady." He replied with a pout and a shrug.
"Did they know we were coming?" Lucina asks.
"Doubt it, Robin is just being extra cautious" Raven says as she looks deep in thought. "Ok new plan, Sheik and Greninja go up the trees and ambush them from up above, Lucario stay here and give me their exact locations, Sonic and Yoshi you guys are fast so lead them away from each other and separate them, Mac and Olimar I want you guys back at the shed and take out any stragglers that come your way, we wouldn't want one of them getting away and alerting the rest of their forces, Lucina and Toon you two are with me we'll start picking them off once Sonic and Yoshi get them alone, and Roy im going to need you to distract their ring leader so they have no coordination." Raven says and everyone nods and begins to head off to their posts.
"Leave it to me boss lady!" Roy says as he takes off further into the woods.
Roy Koopa was scanning the area with his finger on his tigger ready to pelt anyone who came into his field of vision. That is until a certain redhead came into his view and he took aim with a massive grin.
"Code of the Roys!" Roy shouts suddenly while holding out his hands.
"Eh?" Roy Koopa said as he stared at him puzzled.
"Code of the Roys remember? We can't attack each other, but we have to help each other remember the code?" Roy said motioning towards the little red pin on the koopalings shell. "Come on man you have to honor the code!" Roy pleaded as he took out his own pin showing it to the koopaling.
"What are you doing? Shoot him!" Bower jr shouts from behind him. Roy Koopa began to sweat nervously as he looked back and forth between Roy and Bowser jr.
"We Roys must stand together!" Roy says as he holds up his pin high in the air proudly.
"Code of the Roys!" Roy Koopa exclaims holding his high in the air as well.
"Shoot him you idiot!" Bowser jr barks out angrily while jumping up and down. Roy koopa however turns his clown car and begins to shoot at his own commander instead. "You fool!" Bowser jr shouts as he fires back at his traitorous comrade.
"Yes we got this!" Roy said as he took to Roy Koopa's side to help him.
"Come on step it up!" Sonic pipes up from behind Iggy who breaks formation and chases after the hedgehog.
"Yoshi!" The little dinosaur calls out from behind Morton who also breaks formation to go after him. With Bowser jr occupied with the Roys he hadn't noticed his battalion splitting up. From up above Sheik and Greninja take out Larry Koopa in all the confusion. Lucina takes out Iggy while he is distracted by Sonic, while Toon takes out Morton while he is distracted by Yoshi. Leaving only their ringleader left who was still so distracted by the Roys.
That is until he is surrounded by all the smashers who take aim at him. "What?!" he says confused as he looks around looking for his missing battalion. "This isn't over!" He snarls while shaking his little fist and takes to the skies.
"Don't let him escape!" Raven quickly shouts.
"Roy, I need a lift!" The redhead says turning to the koopaling.
"You got it pal!" Roy Koopa says as they both take off in the air after the little koopa.
"Alright, now that this outpost is conquered we should head to the fort as quickly as we can before they realize something is up." Raven says as she motions everyone to follow and they head out of the woods.
Robin's "fort" was nothing more than the greenhouse which had torrents and barricades set up all around it. Raven and her group quickly traversed it while hurriedly making their way to the greenhouse. If they can take out Robin then and there it would all be over. It looked abandoned at the moment but Raven knew it was because Robin had moved all his troops to his munitions station. As Raven neared the entrance to the greenhouse she raised her snowball rifle ready to pelt the living hell out of her twin.
"How predictable!" Came a voice from behind them. They all turn around to see Bowser standing there with a wide evil grin. At once the group was surrounded by the entire enemy team. Which consisted of Bowser, Wario, King Dedede, DTL, Meta Knight, Kirby, Link, Shulk, Ike, Falco, Jigglypuff, Cpt Falcon, Vill (villager), Jill (F villager), Alph, Mr G&W, and lastly Robin himself.
Robin steps out of the greenhouse and places his rifle to the back of Raven's head. "Don't move" he says with a smirk, "you are outnumbered Raven, I'm afraid you lost!" He says exhilarated. At that point everyone in her team already had their hands up in the air. It seemed all was lost but Raven didn't want to just throw in the towel, she couldn't just forfeit to him. "Good call Bowser!" He says nodding to the large Koopa who smirked.
"We expect our payment in full, tactician!" the koopa responded.
"Of course" Robin says with a nod. That is until a large snow bomb landed in the middle of all of them.
"Take cover!" Link shouts as everyone disperses in all directions. Raven took the opportunity to knock Robin backwards and take cover behind a barricade. The things exploded faster than anticipated, taking out Jigglypuff, Shulk, Alph and Olimar.
"Prepare for trouble!" Roy exclaimed as he descended slowly from a rope.
"And make it double!" Roy Koopa adds as he floats down next to him.
"Blast them!" Wario shouts as he takes a turrent and begins to send a volley of snowballs at them. At once it turned into chaos with snowballs flying everywhere, the whole battlefield was just a blur of white.
"Take out that turret!" Roy says to Roy Koopa while motioning to Dedede shooting giant globs of snow out of his mouth like a cannon. Roy Koopa charges his cannon before firing a large ball of snow, completely blowing the king of dreamland away. "Yeah!" They both say in unison and high five.
"Mamma Mia!" Wario shouts as he is blasted off of a lookout and falls down.
"You again!" Ike screeched as he spotted Lucina on the opposite side. "You'll pay for what you did!" He hollered as he readied his weapon.
"Ike, this again?!" Lucina groaned obnoxiously as the mercenary charged at her.
"I'm going to take my title back!" He proclaimed as he ran at her while firing into the air and making war cries like a maniac.
"Your forces are crumbling, surrender Robin!" Raven states while having her back to a wall.
"You're still outnumbered, so I suggest you surrender while you still can!" Robin shouts back while having his back to the same wall on the opposite side.
"Then I guess it's till the very end!" Raven says as she readies her weapon.
"Guess so!" Robin answered as he readied his own weapon and took a deep breath.
At once they both rush out of their cover and fire…
*later*
Lucina gasps as she is thawed out of being encased in a block of ice. She turns her head and sees everyone else from the battle encased in ice around her. They were in a closed off room in the infirmary that was being heated to thaw them out.
"What is this atrocity?!" MH says as he entered the infirmary fumed. "I go to look for my cast only to find them all frozen in the yard?!" MH adds as he flails his arms around berating the six, or rather the five, since Link was among the frozen. "Was no one keeping an eye on things?!" He says looking between them all as they just looked at one another.
"Sir, we were with you the whole time, you know for that thing..." Peach responds while MH sighs.
"I know that!" He retorts while pacing back and forth and shaking his head.
"Well then what's the big deal, no one got hurt and they're all accounted for?" Samus asks. MH just turns around holding up a finger before slowly putting it back down.
"I don't know anymore, just defrost everyone, and no more freezing each other!" He responds before he turns and takes his leave.
"Can we kill Link now?" Peach says, taking out her fry pan and spinning it around.
"Whoa, whoa why?" Marth said standing in her way and holding out his hand.
"Anytime something happens, he's always there!" She fumed with a pout and stomped her foot.
"She's got-a point Marth..." Mario interjects as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Yeah now that she mentions it, every time something has gone wrong for us, Link was at the center of it!" Samus says, "so yeah we should knock some sense into him!" She adds as she takes out her pistol.
"We also need to have a word with Bowser, he broke the 1 koopaling at a time rule." Zelda says as she lowered Samus's weapon.
"I'll take care of that after we beat some sense into Link!" The princess retorts as she holds up her frying pan in the air.
"The-a patients have-a defrosted" Dr. Mario interjects coming between them with a clipboard in hand.
"We'll-a take it from-a here doc," Mario said as he nodded his head.
"I thought-a I had-a seen it all-a" the doctor walked away while shaking his head, placing his clipboard under his arm.
"Alright let's beat Link!" Peach cried out as she rushed towards the hot room with her pan held high…
*later*
"Is this about earlier?" Lucina asked as she followed Marth through the halls.
"Fortunately it's not, truth be told I have no idea why he has called for you…" Marth responds as he turns his head slightly to face her.
"Oh… Alright" she says. Master Hand had suddenly called for her out of the blue as everyone gathered for lunch.
"Here you are," Marth said motioning her into Master Hand's office. She thanks him and heads as he closes the doors behind her.
"Ah there you are good, we can get started!" Master Hand says as she enters and sits behind his desk speaking with someone else.
"We?" She asked. He then motioned towards the other chair which happened to have the dark angel seated. He turns to face her with a sadistic grin plastered on his face. Seemingly whatever was about to happen could not be anything good, or at least in her case. She takes her seat across from him while nervously twiddling her thumbs.
"Alright so I was reviewing some footage and this came to my attention…" MH says as he takes a remote and turns on a large monitor in the back as the lights dimmed. It flickers on to show the outside of the cafeteria with many going in and out. It fast forward a little to show Lucina walking away from Pit as he shouted at her and flailed his arms about. Dark Pit turns to shoot Lucina a look very briefly but she ignores him and keeps her gaze on the screen. Pit comes flying out moments later in a panic and heads towards the lobby, the screen switches to where he strikes his head on a statue holding out the smash symbol. He spirals out of control and crashes head first into a wall and slides down it very dramatically, he groans in pain on the floor as he spits out a tooth. Dark Pit comes into frame moments later as Pit begins to plead with him as he crawls away. Dark Pit is then tasered by someone off screen and he falls to the floor completely immobilized. Samus then comes into the frame standing over Dark Pit with her arms crossed and shaking her head. The screen shuts off there as the lights brighten back up again.
"So admittedly we initially made a mistake, and my associate may have acted a little rash..." Master Hand says as he taps his fingers together and leans forward. "I understand that today is your day off correct, feel free to take as much time as you'd like to enjoy your time out. And please accept these coupons as my sincerest apology, it's for a little shop of goodies I like to visit on the weekends..." Master Hand says as he slides the gift card on his desk towards Dark Pit.
"It's all good, hand, I appreciate when people admit their mistakes." He says taking the little gift card and giving Lucina another smug look.
"Well that was pretty much it, I called you both here to let you know you get an extended day off. Just show the card I gave you to the shuttle driver and you should be set!" MH finished.
"Will do!" Dark Pit says as he gets up from his seat and heads out.
"Thank you sir," Lucina says quickly before she heads out of the room.
The walk back to their room was silent and awkward, well more nerve wrecking to Lucina than anything. She just knew he was going to rub this in her face, it was coming, and he was enjoying the dread. This is also going to give him more power down the line as well, whenever the chance arises he is going to throw this in her face to get his way. As they enter Dark Pit throws his things on the bed and starts rummaging through his closet. She just sits at the edge of her bed in thought. He slams his door shut shortly after and leans against the wall.
"So…" He says with a grin.
"Ok before you say anything, just know that you aren't the most sincere at the best of times. So excuse me for not believing that you wouldn't react with physical violence." She says as she crosses her arms and turns her head.
"Well if that's your way of admitting you are wrong then I'll take it!" He says with a simple shrug as he holds up his hands and she growls under her breath. "In any case you should change into something that'll blend it, you recall what happened at the supermarket right?" He says as she shudders at the thought of being swarmed again.
"Good point…" She says going over to her closet and rummaging through it.
*shortly thereafter*
Lucina was walking down the halls checking her items in a small blue satchel she brought along. She had put on hair clips to hold her hair up so it appeared to be short. A white winter coat with a light blue undershirt, white leggings with an ocean blue overskirt and knee high blue boots.
"You're heading out now?" Marth appeared behind her wearing padding and a ski mask with goggles while holding a hockey stick.
"Yeah, just making sure I got everything…" she responds while still rummaging through her bag.
"You know since it is the first time you are heading out to the city I can accompany you, it's a big place and you can get lost easily, especially in the large shopping district of the vast city." Marth proposed as he walked alongside her, she looked up at him and chuckled.
"If you go looking like that, everyone would think you're out to mug them!" She said jokingly before he pulled off his goggles.
"Roy kept challenging me to a hockey match so I abided," Marth explained, "nevertheless I could cancel to guide you around instead," he insists as they step into the elevator.
"Marth, it's fine! stop worrying about it so much, besides the mobile devices now come with built in maps." She assured him as she waved him off and pressed the ground floor button.
"That still doesn't warrant you going out there alone!" He protests while she sighs and rolls her eyes.
"Marth I'm not going alone, I'll be with my partner." She says as the elevator arrives and a little ding goes off as the doors opened.
"Yeah that's very reassuring…" He says sarcastically as they head out and she turns to give him a look.
"It'll be fine I promise!" She reassured him as she placed her hands on his shoulders and he sighs in defeat.
"Won't you at least invite Raven to go along with you then?" He pleas one last time while she just exhaled slightly.
"She's got her own things going on, besides no one has seen her all morning." Lucina says.
"I can go look for her if you'd like?" Marth insisted as he pointed a thumb behind him.
"Maaaarth…" She groaned lamely.
"Right, sorry, just take care and have fun then… " he says with a slight smile and a nod.
"Thank you," she says before walking off as he leaned against his hockey stick hanging his head.
Once she heads outside she spots Dark Pit sitting on the railings going through his phone. He was wearing an orange long coat with a grey undershirt, grey pants and black boots. "Took you long enough!" He says with a shake of his head.
"I couldn't find my ID…" She says.
"Well you better have found it or else we aren't going past those gates." He states while pointing towards the golden front gates of the mansion.
"Yup right here!" She says taking it out of her bag to show him.
"Good let's get going, there is this awesome vr system on sale that I've been looking forward to all week!" He says jumping down and heading towards the shuttle that was parked in the driveway. There was a rather tall Mii standing beside it holding a tablet and a card reader in a typical chauffeurs outfit.
"IDs please" he said plainly while holding out his hand, they both hand him their ids and he quickly sans them. "Greetings Lucina, Dark Pit, I am Leo, I shall be your chauffeur for the day. Input your destination in the reader and we shall be on our way, should you need a pickup just dial or message this number with your pinged location." The Mii informed them before he took to the driver's seat.
"Alright let's get going!" Dark Pit said excitedly as he rubbed his hands together. Lucina looked back at the mansion as he boarded the vehicle. She would be lying if she said she didn't feel anxious going to a completely strange new area. She took a deep breath and boarded as Dark Pit puts in their destination on the onboard navigation system…
So the first steps into smash city! What will happen, disaster? tragedy? Find out next week! Or whenever I get my motivation to start typing again…
