Previously in Pokémon: The Lost Child. Empoleon and Sceptile got lost in a mountain and ended up having to navigate a series of traps. Eventually, they encountered Weavile, the one who set the traps and was able to convince her to stand down. Now Empoleon and Sceptile are back on the path, ready to continue their journey.

However, something that is about to change Empoleon and Sceptile's paths forever is brewing with a familiar face.

"My master, I have some things to report to you," Aegislash said.

"What is it, Aegislash?" his master asked.

"I have discovered a bit of a new threat. There is this Zoroark whose parents were killed by me some time ago, for you, and now she wants revenge. I thought she would be simple to take care of, but clearly, that was not the case."

"That is concerning, I have to admit. Also, how exactly did you find out about this?"

"It was thanks to me," Greninja said, entering the room to talk.

"Who might this be, Aegislash?" his master asked.

"This is Greninja. He is the one who gave me this info. I am still rather suspicious of his motives though."

"Keep him around. He could prove to be very useful to us. Now Aegislash, I will send you some help to take this Zoroark down. I have faith in you, Aegislash." As Aegislash's master was talking, two other members of The Brotherhood, Simisage and Golem, came out to help. With the three of them on this, Zoroark stood no chance.

Meanwhile, after finally getting off the mountain, Empoleon and Sceptile arrived at another village. This one seemed more normal compared to the last one they were at. There weren't dozens of wanted posters, for one.

"Welcome to our village. I hope you have a good time," a Rhydon said when the two entered the village.

"Your village is very nice; impressive work," Empoleon said.

"Thanks for the compliment, we try to keep this place in as good of shape as we can."

Empoleon and Sceptile started exploring the village, checking out the various shops all around them, occasionally interacting with the Pokémon wandering around.

"I still wish that I could take down that Aegislash. He needs to be brought down for what he did," Empoleon commented while walking around.

"I understand, but we aren't even close to strong enough to take on The Brotherhood."

In response to Sceptile's comment, a Sawk said, "Wait, did you just say Aegislash and The Brotherhood?"

"Yeah, that is correct. How do you know about him?" Sceptile asked.

"Come with me, I have a few things to tell you," Sawk said. Afterwards, Empoleon and Sceptile would follow Sawk to his house. After the three of them sat down, Sawk would start talking, "Aegislash is a notorious assassin. He is incredibly skilled and deadly, with dozens to hundreds of kills throughout his long career. He works for the Brotherhood and has carried out many assassinations for them. This is a dangerous Pokémon. You don't want to mess with him. This is my warning to you."

"How do you know so much about Aegislash?" Empoleon asked.

"I was once a member of The Brotherhood. I left that life behind me though. For your good, I am telling you to stay away from them."

During this conversation, the three of them heard a very loud crashing sound that sounded like a massive explosion going off because of how loud it was. The three of them immediately rushed outside to see what was going on. When they got out, they saw a very tall Pokémon that was mostly grey with a long purple tail.

"Sceptile, what is that?" Empoleon asked.

"I-I don't know."

"My name is Mewtwo. You are all in grave danger. I come here with a warning. Listen if you want to keep your lives."

"Wait Mewtwo! I have heard about you in passing, but I am now seeing you," Sawk said.

"Yes, it is I, Mewtwo, a one-of-a-kind Pokémon. I come here with a warning. The Brotherhood is leading an attack on this very village and all your lives are at risk," Mewtwo responded.

"The Brotherhood, why would they be coming here of all places?" Sceptile wondered.

"They must be after me," Sawk responded.

"They are not after you, but they will be if you don't hide. Whom they are truly after is Zoroark, whom The Brotherhood has managed to learn is hiding here," Mewtwo answered.

"Does Zoroark have any idea that they are coming?" Empoleon asked.

"They don't, you must warn her, but be warned, she could be disguised as anyone," Mewtwo responds.

"Why can't you help?" Sceptile asks.

"I am already risking so much by telling you I need to leave," and Mewtwo teleports away just as he said that.

"Well, that was certainly unusual," Sawk commented.

"We need to find Zoroark as quickly as possible?" Empoleon said.

"Yeah, I get that, but how are we going to identify her?" Sceptile wondered.

Meanwhile, Aegislash and his teammates were getting closer to approaching the village.

"So Aegislash, do you know for sure that this is the right place?" Golem asked.

"I wish I was more sure on that, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't suspicious of Greninja, the Pokémon I am getting this info from. Technically, though, he was correct the last time."

"Why are you suspicious of this Greninja?" Simisage asked Aegislash.

"Something doesn't feel right. I don't understand why he would give up this kind of info to us for no return; how he even knows all this stuff to begin with; and how he managed to find the base."

"Well, we will just have to see where this information leads us Golem commented.

Meanwhile, in the village, Empoleon said, "Sceptile have you found her yet."

"I have nothing, I don't even know where to start looking."

"We need some sort of a way to make her want to come to us," Empoleon suggested.

"That is a good idea, perhaps some way to make our presence known and Zoroark want to come and talk to us. I am not sure how we are going to do that though. Do you have any ideas, Empoleon?"

"Maybe we could hang up some posters," Empoleon thought.

"That could work if we hung up posters telling Zoroark to come to us that her life was in danger. She would be bound to see it," Sceptile responded.

"We don't have any time to lose. Let's get started."

Empoleon and Sceptile start hanging up posters all over the village, telling Zoroark that her life is in danger and that Empoleon and Sceptile need to talk to her. After around 15 minutes of hanging up as many posters as they can, Sceptile comments, "That should be enough for her to see it."

"So what do we do now?" Empoleon asked.

"All we can do is just wait and hope Zoroark shows up. If we stay in one place, it will make it easier for Zoroark to find us."

Empoleon and Sceptile sat there patiently waiting for Zoroark to find them. The longer they waited, the more worried they were getting. During their wait, a Cloyster approached them, saying, "I got your message. What do you want to tell me."

"I presume this is Zoroark," Sceptile knew right away.

"Yeah, that is correct," Zoroark goes back to her original form and continues saying, "What is it you wanted to tell me? You said my life was in danger."

"Zoroark, The Brotherhood somehow knows that you are here and they are coming as we speak," Sceptile answers.

"How did they know? I need to get out of here right away. Wait a second, how do you even know?" Zoroark asks.

"You might find this rather crazy, but a Mewtwo came up and told us this," Empoleon answers.

"That is rather crazy," Zoroark responds.

"It looks like we may already be too late," Sawk says. As he was saying that Aegislash along with Golem and Simisage was walking within seeing distance from the village. All of them knew that this was very bad news and they had to get ready for the worst.

"If you don't want to face our wrath, surrender Zoroark to us, citizens of this town," Aegislash said.
