Pittoo's alarm went off very early and very loudly at 4 in the morning no less. Lucina's red tired eyes snapped open and she lifted her head to glare at her partner. "Would you shut that off!?" She exclaimed while he slammed the top of the little machine.
"Just making sure you actually got up!" he replied, getting up from his bed and stretching. She turns to her nightstand and flips her clock to face her seeing it's very early in the morning, normally they don't get up until hours later.
"Are you nuts?" She asked, "Look at the time, you lunatic!" She cries out and shakes her head, getting back into bed and turning to face the wall. Pittoo shrugs and walks over to the bathroom whistling to himself to go splash some water on his face.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
The alarm starts going off again and she turns around again seeing the dark angel deliberately ignoring the loud piercing sound. "Pittoo!" She exclaimed while motioning towards his alarm but he ignored her too.
"I'm sorry I can't hear you, I'm a little busy at the moment!" he calls out while messing with his hair. Lucina growls angrily while throwing her covers off of her and marches over to his alarm. She slams her fist down on it repeatedly until it stops making that obnoxious sound. She then yanks the cord out of the wall and picks up the little box marching towards the back of the room. She swings open their glass door and flings the little device off the balcony making it smash onto the concrete below.
"Oh good you're up!" He says rather enthusiastically while she gives him a glare, "get dressed" he says handing her some jogging clothes.
"Did I do something to you recently? What are you trying to get me back for?" Lucina says simply while throwing her arms in the air.
"This isn't a prank, you heard what your mother said with those flower fortunes. Unless we put in our all we won't get the outcome we strive for." He replies while she rolls her eyes very exaggeratingly.
"You're really going to let a flower tell you how to live your life?" She asks while crossing her arms.
"It's not the flower I'm going off FYI" he says.
"Then?" She says, giving him a puzzled look.
"It was actually your mother, see unlike you she actually believed in me and encouraged me!" he says while she drops her arms to her side looking at him as if to say 'seriously!?' Look as Well. "Yes! So we have to take our training more seriously, meaning no more slacking off which includes sleeping in for that matter." He states while she just walks away from him. "Oh and before you think you can just skip out I've hidden various little alarms around the room that'll go off constantly unless I shut them off." He informed her while she was halfway under the covers already. She throws off her covers again and picks up her clothes heading into the bathroom to change.
"I hate you…" She grumbles before slamming the door shut.
outside…
Dark Pit was hopping in place and stretching while waiting for his partner. Wearing a pair of shorts and a light sweater and some running sneakers. Lucina shows up shortly after wearing the exact same thing as him, except her wear was blue unlike his black. "Alright let's get this over with so I can go back to sleep" she says with a short yawn.
"Sleep? After this we're running simulations" he informs her as she gives him another look. "Want a sweatband?" He says handing her a blue one but she just continues to glare at him. "Suit yourself!" He says with a shrug, "lets go" he adds motioning her to follow as he begins jogging away. Lucina groaned to herself before she followed after him, she just thought this wouldn't last.
"he'd get tired of it eventually… Right?" She thought to herself.
Dark Pit got too immersed in focusing on his breathing however that he stopped paying attention to his surroundings, which was a small mistake on his part. "Hey Pittoo! You joined the morning jog squad too?" Pit says coming up beside him.
"Yeah? Why are you here?" He asks and Pit chuckles a little.
"Palutena and I always come out for a morning jog, there's just something about the crisp morning air that's so refreshing!" Pit replies while taking in a huge dramatic breath of fresh air.
"Yeah well me and Blue decided to come out here because we need to start taking our training more seriously." Dark Pit says, pointing his thumb behind them, meanwhile Pit looks behind him puzzled.
"Well where is she exactly?" Pit asks making Dark Pit skid to a halt and turn around seeing just an empty track with no sign of the bluenette. Little Mac and Ryu come jogging past the two angels shortly after before he spots something off to the side of the track.
"Bluuuuuuuuue!" He groans in frustration finding her passed out on a flower bed.
"The next day…*
Lucina was comfortably snuggled in her bed having a nice dream about sleeping on a pile of sweets, when suddenly. She gets a horn blaring in her face playing that tune one might hear at a military camp in the morning. She flies out of her bed and turns to see Pittoo standing next to her bed still blaring the trumpet.
"Oh good you're up!" he says casually as she gets up off the floor. "Let's go, it's time for our jog!" he says, tossing her a pair of clothes. She just growls to herself and heads towards the restroom to change while he begins blaring the trumpet again.
"Keep playing that and I'm going to shove it up your ass!" She shouts from the other side of the door.
Shortly after…
They both stood near the track and began to stretch. Lucina yawned and then shook her head. She already convinced herself to keep up the charade for at least a week. That's the longest Pittoo has ever gone while holding on to an interest before moving on and forgetting about it. She steps into the track and is about to set off before he stops her taking out a clipboard and stopwatch. "Not so fast Blue, starting today we're going to start timing each other and if we do worse than our previous day that means we're slacking and we'll have to up the training!" he says while she drops her shoulders.
"Are you serious?" she says while giving him a bored look.
"Dead set" he replies, "and before you think about pulling that stunt you did yesterday I have something that'll be sure to whip you into shape!" He says rather enthusiastically.
"Whatever lets just get this over with" she says and begins jogging off while he hits the start on his stopwatch. "Hmmm I think that's far enough…" He says to himself before he takes out a whistle and blows on it, except it didn't make any sound whatsoever, at least not to any human ears that is.
As Lucina is jogging along she hears what she thinks is barking and snarling in the distance, she turns around and sees a pack of what look like wolves all running straight at her. She screams and takes off running like a madwoman while the wild canines give chase to the poor bluenette. "PITTOO YOU JERK!" She shouts as she runs for her life and she doesn't even stay on the path either, instead running straight into the woods. "HEEEEELP MEEEE NAGA!" She screams at the top of her lungs before disappearing behind the tree line.
"Hmm maybe I should have thought this through more…" He says, clicking his tongue in frustration. He looks down at his clipboard and crosses off 'pack of wolves' off his list. What list? Well his 'motivations to get Blue running' list. Just then Fox comes barreling out of the woods screaming his head off as a pack of wolves was hot on his heels. "At least someone is getting exercise off this" he says with a casual shrug.
*the following day*
A loud sharp sound of an electric guitar came blaring suddenly making Lucina shoot up in bed. She turns to see a large speaker casually sitting next to her bed and Dark Pit playing the shit out of his guitar. She just throws her covers off and takes her jogging clothes off the draws and heads off to go change. Dark Pit however just kept playing to his heart's content.
Afterwards…
Lucina and Dark Pit were once again off to the side of the track doing their pre run stretches. "I swear there better not be any wolves this time!" She says very sternly, "I was stuck up in a tree for 5 whole hours yesterday before they got the wolves under control!" She says, visibly frustrated.
"I promise there's no wolves this time alright!" he assured her.
"Whatever, let's just get this over with" she says as they begin jogging, and this time it seemed to be going more smoothly. There was a gentle breeze and best of all not many others were out today either. Well that was until Lucina slowed her pace down a little and got a nasty shock. "Ow! What the?" She says as she continued jogging and turned to Pittoo.
"Oh yeah I rigged your suit today, if you attempt to slow down or stop before we're finished you'll feel the full force of an angry Pikachu." He informed her casually.
"Are you freaking kidding me? What is wrong with you!?" She exclaimed but he simply shrugged her off.
"I'm sorry but you forced my hand, you've been slacking" he says and just joggs off ahead of her.
"YOU... *zap* MOTHER- *zap*" She says but she has to continuously try to keep up with him. "Ow! Ow! Leg cramp!" She says holding her leg and comes to a stop, right before she gets a big jolt of electricity sending sparks everywhere. She falls to the floor face first completely motionless shortly after. Pittoo comes to a stop shortly after and sighs, taking out his clipboard and crossing something else off of it while slowly shaking his head.
*the day thereafter*
Lucina was once again rudely awoken but this time by a flock of rowdy roosters, all sitting on her bed. She just grumbles to herself and gets out of bed, grabs her clothes and walks into the restroom without a word. Not even the fact that Pittoo was dancing around in the middle of the room in a giant rooster costume.
Out on the track…
"No wolves, no electricity!" She says grabbing him by the shit.
"You got it princess!" he says, giving her a solute.
"Whatever, let's just get this over with" she says, tossing him aside and stepping into the track again. They begin jogging and Lucina had to keep looking over her shoulder to make sure there wasn't anything there, she even made sure to pat down and thoroughly check her clothes for any sort of contraptions. Just when she starts to relax she hears a strange whirring, but when she looked behind her there was nothing. Besides that Dark Pit hadn't heard the noise, or if he did he wasn't bothered by it. She just shrugged it off and kept jogging. That is until the ground under began to shake and tremble making her skid to a halt. The ground suddenly raised fully and there was an angry face under there.
"Everyone always walks all over us!" The chunk of road suddenly spoke, "and do we even get a thank you? No! And that makes me really angry! So now I'm going to step on you!" It said and began charging at them.
"What's going on!?" Lucina exclaimed, boss music starting blaring from out of nowhere as the chuck of the pavement tried to squish her flat.
"I don't know but you better keep moving!" He says with a mischievous grin and continues jogging along his merry little way. Lucina tried running in a zigzag pattern as she remembered someone telling her it was a good survival tip. Although it was doubtful they had walking slabs on concrete in mind when the tip was given. And so poor Lucina was squished right under all that weight flattening her like a pancake, just then Bowser's laugh could be heard as everything faded to black.
*henceforth the continued day*
Lucina actually woke up this time before Pittoo did, but she acted as if she was still asleep. She listened and opened her eyelids slightly watching him get quietly out of his bed. He was being extra cautious not to make any sound so as to not wake her. He goes over to his closet and takes out a bucket and well as an ice chest, she then watches as he very carefully scoops out some ice and places it inside the bucket very gently so as to not make a sound. He did also very smartly opt for a plastic bucket instead of a metal one that would clang at the slightest touch. He then tiptoes towards the bathroom and starts filling up the bucket very slowly so the running water wouldn't wake her. He then very carefully begins to tiptoe to her bed, and once he was next to it he slowly raised the bucket of ice water.
"BOO!" Lucina shouts jumping up at him, not expecting it he tumbles backwards and loses his footing dropping the ice cold water on himself. He starts gasping loudly while she just started laughing hysterically at him even falling back into her bed. She just gets up and walks off into the restroom to change while she continues to holler with laughter, all the while he stays soaking wet on the floor completely dumbfounded.
Out on the track…
Dark Pit was crossing something off his list when Lucina showed up and began warming up. "Alright let's get this over with" she says getting into the track.
"Sure but you better step it up today you've been severely lacking all week Blue." He says while shrugging his shoulders and she gives him a look. "Aaaaaand go!" He says starting the timewatch she just rolled her eyes and began jogging along. And it isn't long before she hears a particular roar that makes every part of her body tense up. She turns to see a giant angry grizzly come charging at her, she screams completely horrified and starts running faster than she's ever moved before. The problem is no matter how fast any human thinks they are, a grizzly bear will always be faster. It takes it no effort for it to catch up to the poor bluenette and begin tossing her around like a rag doll.
Dark Pit winces to himself and slowly turns around crossing the last thing on his list off. He turns around again only to reel back in horror and place his hands over his eyes, unable to watch.
*later*
"Where did you even get a grizzly!?" Link asked completely baffled as he put Pittoo in a holding cell
"I know no one is going to believe me, but it was Crazy Hand himself who sold me it." He admits while Link looks around and then leans in to whisper.
"Oh no I believe you, I once bought a Lion from him" Link says.
"Why did you buy a Lion?" Dark Pit asked.
"It was a gift for Zelda actually, for our anniversary" he says while Pitto raises an eyebrow.
"A Lion? Really? And what did she think of it?" He asked while Link seemed to deflate a little.
"She really didn't like that, she ended up kicking my ass for a good hour too." He said and walked away slowly still looking deflated.
"Noooooo" Pittoo replied sarcastically, "what woman wouldn't appreciate a Lion?" He says bringing his hands up to his side.
"Speaking of which, I'd avoid Lucina for the next few days cause dude I just saw her in the infirmary and she looked pissed." Link warned.
"Eh I'm not worried she's forgiven me for much worse our friendship is rock solid." The dark angel waved off the hylian and went to go sit on his bunk.
*elsewhere*
"He didn't!" Dark Link says holding up a hand to his chest in shock.
"Yes, a freaking bear!" Lucina exclaimed, throwing her arms up. She was completely covered in bites and scratches but Dr. Mario luckily gave her medicine that completely dulled the pain and assured would deal with her scars.
"That boy" Dark Link begins, "he just needs some direction in his life" he states before taking a sip of tea. And why in the world were these two having tea? Well it started shortly after visitors left and Dark Link actually asked to hang out. They agreed to have some afternoon tea after a match she and Dark Pit had, after which she ended up venting to the dark hylian about the angel's insane training regime he took up. After which she discovered he was actually a very good listener, and actually had some great insight on her situations and not just the ones pertaining to Dark Pit either. And afterwards the afternoon tea just kinda became a daily thing they did ironically. She was skeptical and cautious at first because of all the warnings she got about this man. However he was the complete opposite, where as she was told he was cold, assertive and unreasonable. She found him to be nothing like that, and she came to believe that like Pittoo he was just outcasted and misunderstood.
"He's going to have to jump through hoops of fire if he's going to want my forgiveness this time." Lucina says, slamming her hand on the table.
"Oh Lucina we both know he isn't a hoop jumping kind of guy, however you shouldn't let this get to you as hard as it has, remember anger is bad for the soul." Dark Link replied.
"Yeah I know, but I'm still going to need time to cool off though" she adds.
"Oh my look at the time, I actually need to go. I promise DTL I'd help him train for his upcoming match with Ryu and Roy." The dark Hylian says gulping down the last of his tea and getting up.
"Alright, best of luck to you both" Lucina says waving him off.
"Oh one more thing, I was heading to an arcade tomorrow but DTL is unable to make it. Would you be interested in going?" He asked.
"Yeah sure, I have the day off tomorrow anyway" She says he nods with a smile before heading off. Lucina looked at the clock on the wall before she sunk back in her seat. It would only be a few hours before Pittoo was eventually freed from confinement.
*later that night…*
"I said I was sorry!" Dark Pit whines before being roughly thrown out of the room. He plants on the floor and before he could get up she throws his things at him and slams the door shut and locks it, as indicated by all the clicks coming from it. She didn't give him his ID card either so there was no way he could get in anyway even if he tried. "Hey, it's my room too!" He says getting up and pounding on the door. "Ugh!" He says kicking over a vase in frustration, he lets loose one little bear and suddenly she isn't speaking to him anymore. He picks up his belongings and stuffs them in a box conveniently nearby and begins walking off. He figured he'd just go sleep in the 4th floor rec room, it is hardly used, noone brothers patrolling that area and it has a comfy couch out of view even if someone happens to peek into the room. He rounds the corner and is just about to reach the elevator when.
"It's a little late to be going out for a walk isn't it?" Pitto heard a calm voice say, just that as if he fazed through the wall Marth appeared before him. "It's past curfew you shouldn't be wandering the halls" the blue prince says.
"Why are you out here then?" Pittoo remarked.
"Im excepted," the prince says.
"Well then so am I" he fired back. He tried to leave but Marth just kept getting in his way, "listen man, you can just let me go on my way, or I can knock you on your ass and then go on my way. I'd be a real shame if something happened to that pretty face of yours." He says dropping his box of belongings and crossing his arms. Now normally this is the point where anyone would back off and leave him alone, everyone knows it's not the brightest idea to aggravate the dark angel. The Prince however just lets out a bored sigh rolling up his sleeves and slowly shaking his head.
"Don't make me do this Dark Pit, I'm too tired right now" Marth replied plainly. Dark Pit out of patience and being frustrated as hell lunged at the price, he didn't care if he was in that stupid club of his he could be damned who he was. He just wanted to get to bed and forget about this horrible day. That is of course until Marth very quickly and swiftly moves behind the dark angel and using the force the angel put into his attack dropped him to the floor. All while keeping a hold on the angel's arms which he brought behind his back as his face planted on the ground. The angel just laid there at the loss of words.
"How was Marth so fast!?" He thought to himself, startled.
"Trust me when you've been in this fight as long as I have you pick up a thing or two" Marth began while Pittoo tried to stand up but found his hands zip tied behind his back.
"when did he even have time to do that?" The angel exclaimed in his head.
"That and you never had the misfortune of having to deal with Snake who had a habit of sneaking out late nights and can put you to sleep in two moves." Marth explained bringing the angel to his feet now that he was incapacitated. "Now do you want to try this again in a more civil manner? Why are you wandering outside in the halls past curfew?" The princes asked.
"Take a wild guess!" he says, turning his head away and looking like an angry pouty child. The prince just sighed, shaking his head again.
"Lucina threw you out didn't she, come on big guy I'll go have a chat with her." He said turning around before being stopped abruptly.
"The hell you are! I don't need you fighting my battles for me. Don't you know anything? If you go in there it'll make everything worse!" The dark angel quickly blurts out. The prince stood there for a moment as if in thought before humming to himself.
"Perhaps you are right" he says much to Pittoo's surprise. "I already had Caeda chew me out over this anyway" he says looking a little flustered, before taking out a switchblade from his pocket. "Don't make me regret this" He says, cutting the angel loose and pocketing the blade. "Grab you things I have an idea and a place for you to stay as well" he says motioning towards the elevator with head. Pittoo just picked up his box and shrugged, he was tired anyway and the thought of sleeping on a bed instead of a rinky dink couch enticed him.
Once the door dings open Dark Pit steps out and walks for a bit before he is flooded by a bright red light. "Unauthorized Smasher detected!" A mechanical voice said, Pittoo saw R.O.B standing there with bright red eyes and looked like he was about to blast Pittoo to smithereens
"He's with me R.O.B" Marth says coming between the two.
"Affirmative, resuming patrol" the robot says before turning and going down a different hall.
"Let's go" Marth says walking down the hall, Pittoo hadn't actually been this way before as he's never had too and he isn't particularly aquitant with anyone on that floor either. The prince stops at a door that had the very same symbol his door did, that fire emblem one however the other one was completely unknown to him. Marth knocks on the door and a few seconds later the door swings open.
"Yes?" Came a feminine voice although Pittoo couldn't see who it was he knew who that voice belonged to.
"May I come in?" The prince asked, "I have something I'd wish to discuss with yourself and your partner if that's alright?"
"Sure come in" the woman said and Marth disappeared into the door which closed behind him.
"What am I even doing here?" Pittoo thought to himself, he could've been sleeping right now if he would've been allowed to go to the rec room. Hell even better, he could've been sleeping right now if his partner didn't have a stick up her ass. It was a circus bear, for crying out loud! The profile even said he loved children and was very playful and friendly. Just when he was about to walk away Raven stepped out of the room, carrying a small box of her own.
"You really outdid yourself this time" she says while chuckling a little. She looked like she was just getting ready for bed, being in her pajamas with her hair loose.
"Alright then Dark Pit" Marth said motioning him inside the room, "remember you're a guest here so please do try to behave yourself!" The prince says, giving him a stern look before walking off and closing the door behind him. He turns around and sees Shulk standing there awkwardly with his hands behind his back.
"So… How's… Life?" He monado wielder asked mentally hating himself for sounding so dumb.
"Tiresome," Pittoo replied, tossing his belongings aside and heading over towards the bed. Maybe by tomorrow this would all blow over and seeing as how Raven would be there with Lucina all night she will probably rant to the tactician all night and get her anger and frustration all out. It was a typical thing with her, once she's vented she always goes back to her usual self and forgives him for any mishaps. "If you don't mind, I'm just going to sleep. I'm tired as hell" he says while Shulk just nods and agrees.
"Yeah no problem, I'm pretty tired myself actually" Shulk says and as if to prove his point lets out a yawn. Dark Pit kicked off his shoes and Shulk just looked at him funny. "What?" He asked as the blonde looked worried as if something bad was about to happen.
"Nothing, it's just that usually Raven says to take our shoes off outside and spray them down otherwise the room will smell like feet, and she's very adamant about it." Shulk says, twiddling his thumbs around nervously, he saw some sort of spray next to his nightstand that was a sort of shoe deodorant, until then he didn't know such a thing existed.
"Well she's not here you can relax man" Pittoo said assuringly kicking off his other shoe without a care. Shulk just looked down and then very hesitantly did the same, and it felt weird to him tho and stopped halfway through. Pittoo walked over to the mini fridge and took out a small bottle of water and placed it on the nightstand next to his bed.
"Oh uh, ah…" Shulk blurts out making the angel roll his eyes.
"What now?" He says in a bored tone.
"Raven says no drinks near the beds, could cause a spill..." He replied.
"It's just water, sometimes at night I get thirsty!" the dark angel explains.
"Well She always says, 'a spill is a spill' and makes me drink outside." He informed the angel who gave him a look of disbelief. "She claims it'll make you go later and between 11pm to 5am to just hold it so we don't wake the other in the middle of the night, since I once tripped on a book and woke her up by crashing into the mirror." He adds while Pittoo ran a hand down his face.
"Look at you man you're all tense and nervous, jees you act like she was your own mother!" He says in disbelief while Shulk just rubs the back of his neck.
"Well it can be very scary when she's in a bad mood," he says in defense.
"Even when she's not here you're still doing her bidding, you're kissing phantom butt dude." Pittoo says as he gets into bed fully.
"Hey man that's not true!" The blonde protests, throwing his shoes off carelessly, placing a soda on his nightstand and standing proud in front of his bed.
"Look at you, you rebel" Pittoo says sarcastically.
"Now, will it be beach sounds or heavy rain sounds tonight?" He asked, making the dark angel look up at him puzzled.
"None I like my peace and quiet… Wait, don't tell me, is she the one that needs those ridiculous things to go to sleep?" He says while Shulk once again nervously twiddles his thumbs.
"Perhaps" the blonde replied, raising his shoulders.
"Unbelievable" Pittoo mutters, turning to face the wall.
"Well I had to compromise on that, see the sounds soothe her mind otherwise she would randomly wake up in the middle of the night screaming." Shulk explained.
"That woman is more insane than I thought" Pittoo mumbled before shutting off the lamp.
"Buddy you don't have to tell me" Shulk mumbled shutting off his own lamp and getting into bed, and for once he actually felt relaxed.
*early the next morning*
"So are you good now after getting a good rest and spending the night with your friend?" Pittoo says while his partner glared at him. "Friends?" He asked, holding out his hand, she simply replied to him by throwing hot coffee on his lap. He starts dancing around in a panic while she walks away without another word. "Aaaargh! I do not get women!" He complained while slamming his fist down on a table repeatedly.
Moments later…
"Ah Lucina there you are, how are you?" Raven says as the bluenette enters her room again.
"Peachy" she says tossing herself in bed, "my schedule is clear today as it's my day off so I'm just going to hangout here."
"Dark Pit came by today" Raven said, earning a scowl from the bluenette.
"And?" She states bluntly.
"And he's so very sorry, look he even made you cookies!" Raven said, holding the plate out for her to see. "They're not poisoned or tampered with either, I know cause I had one just in case, and also I was a little hungry." The silver haired tactician said.
"Oh he did, did he?" Lucina says getting up and taking the plate from her. "Oh look at that it looks like he actually put in some effort" she says looking one over.
"Yeah and they're surprisingly good too!" Raven nods with a smile, before Lucina dumped them on the floor and stomps on them.
"Oh look at that I dropped them, what a shame!" The bluenette states with a fake pout.
"Oh that was totally uncalled for, those were really good cookies!" Raven pouted herself. Right before they were both interrupted by a knock at the door.
"I swear if that's him!" Lucina says marching towards the door and grabbing the broom from the corner of the room before swinging open the door. Raven quickly rushed after her before she ended up bonking some poor soul over the head with it.
"Oh hey, what's up?" Lucina was surprised to see Dark Link standing there instead. Raven quickly grabbed the mop to use as a weapon herself just in case.
"Hey I've been looking for you, did you forget? We were going to go to the arcade today" he tells her and she looks away in embarrassment.
"Oh gods I forgot!" She said, "come in, let me just change into something more casual and we'll go ok?" She adds, stepping aside and letting the dark hylian enter.
"Sure, no problem" he says casually walking in and seeing Raven standing behind the door awkwardly with a mop in her hands. "Oh hello didn't see you there," he says, giving her a short wave with a small smile unsettling the tactician even more.
"I'll be right out, make yourself comfortable in the meantime" Lucina says walking over to her closet and rummaging through it. Dark Link just looked around and then sat down at the edge of Pittoo's bed.
"Oh hey let me help you!" Raven blurts out dropping her mop and heading over towards the bluenette.
"Oh no it's fine I'm perfectly capable myself" Lucina replied waving her off.
"Oh please I insist your outfits are terrible!" Raven says sternly grabbing Lucina by the face and shoving her in the restroom slamming the door behind them. Dark Link just raised his eyebrow but brushed it off taking a look around. That is until he started hearing the harsh whispers coming from behind the closed door. There was a bit of back and forth between the two before there was a long awkward pause.
"Ow! Not so tight!" Lucina cried out.
"Hold still dammit!" Raven quickly retorts.
The door flings open shortly afterwards and Raven steps out and smiles sheepishly before taking a seat on Lucina's bed. The bluenette comes out shortly after wearing a long blue t-shirt with the fire emblem logo on it and plain jeans, however she had her hair up in a bun. "Alright I'm ready, let's go!" Lucina says to the dark hylian motioning towards the door. Before she left however Raven stopped her, turning her around and showing her something.
"Here keep this with you at all times, it'll give you enough time to escape should he try to kill you." Raven says handing her some pepper spray, however Lucina just gives her a flat look. "Just take it!" The tactician says shoving the little bottle in her purse.
"Don't you think you're overreacting a little? Mom!" Lucina says while rolling her eyes. Dark Link then motions them down the hall towards the elevator and they take off.
"Sooo…" Dark Link begins as they enter the elevator.
"Hm?" She hums, turning to him.
"I heard you still haven't forgiven Pittoo yet, correct?" he says while pushing the ground floor button and putting his arms behind his back.
"Ugh, if you only asked me to go with you to the arcade to try to convince me to forgive him, tell me now, otherwise it'll just be a waste of time for both of us." She replied while crossing her arms.
"On the contrary" he says as the door bings open and they head out, "I thought i'd take you out to forget your troubles, think of this as a stress reliever." He says opening the front door for her with an awkward smile.
"Alright if you say so, but I don't want to hear anymore about Pittoo! got it?" She says raising a finger towards him very sternly.
"Loud and clear!" He says as they head towards the smash van outside.
Later that day…
"The thing about Pittoo is, he's just, he's ugh!" Lucina says, slamming her cup down on the table.
"Yeah I know exactly what you mean" Dark Link says leaning back in his seat. "He lacks discipline plain and simple" he adds, "but hey what can you do he's stubborn" DL finished as he raised his shoulders.
"He needs a kick in the ass, that's what!" She says shaking her cup around, "hey want another soda im out?" She asked tossing her cup away but he raised his hand up.
"Oh it's alright the next round is on me" he says with a smile and getting up from his seat.
"Are you sure?" She asked but he waved her off.
"Yeah it's no problem" he assured her and walked over to the back where they served drinks.
Meanwhile…
There was a soft knock at the door and Raven looked up from her magazine puzzled. She tossed it aside and got up heading towards the door and opening it up. Only to come face to face with a giant stuffed unicorn. "Hey look what I found randomly! And I thought of you when I saw it, and I'm sorry I got you mauled by a bear. Could you please stop being mad at me?" Dark Pit immediately blurts out.
"Really man, stuffed animals?" Raven says leaning against the door frame. Dark Pits face pokes out from behind the giant thing and he frowns disappointed.
"Oh it's you…" He says plainly, "where's Blue?" He asked, looking around.
"Oh you haven't heard?" She begins, "she's got herself a new friend" Raven says as he squeezed through the door and falls in.
"Who!?" He asked, puzzled, getting up from the floor.
"I'll give you a big fat hint, he lives in a water temple" she says.
"What the hell is she doing with Dark Link? Better yet, why is she hanging out with him at all!?" He says throwing up his arms.
"Your guess is as good as mine, however I don't like it! He's up to something I just know! That boy is always coming up with devious schemes." She says while Dark Pit looked like he was deep in thought.
"I have to go," he says plainly, walking out without another word.
"Ok? I'll tell her you came by when she returns" Raven says while poking her head out the door and watching him disappear down the hall. "Awww look at that, it's holding a picture of them together at the fair!" Raven said in a sweet voice placing a hand over her chest.
Later that night…
Lucina and Dark Link pile out of the van laughing hysterically and wearing matching hats with 'Din's arcade' stitched on the front. "Did you see his face when we handed in all our tickets!" She recalled while they lugged two giant bags behind them.
"I can't believe they threw us out for having too many tickets!" Dark Link hollered, pulling some more out of his pocket and tossing them aside.
"Well I mean you are very skilled with your bow, so your aim is pretty steady isn't that like cheating?" She says thinking to herself.
"How? It's not my fault everyone else sucks!" He says with a big grin on his face.
"We did make that one kid cry when we bought that glow in the dark mega ball he wanted." She said while he scoffed.
"That brat deserved it! Did you see how snotty he was acting? Someone needed to bring him down a peg." He says assuring while patting her on the shoulder.
"And I did piss off those teenagers buying that drone they were talking about the whole time, and right in front of them…" She says while he throws his head back hollering with laughter.
"That was epic, you should've seen their faces!" Dark Link exclaimed, completely amused.
"I kinda feel bad," she says, tapping her fingers together.
"Don't be, what were they going to do with a drone anyway? I'm sure they would've been pestering people with it." He states.
"This was really fun actually, thank you!" She says while he waved her off.
"Oh it was nothing, what are friends for?" He says.
"I guess so, hey would you like to go to that new Ice skating rink that opened up tomorrow?" She asked.
"Sure! We can go in the afternoon since I have a scheduled match in the morning against Samus and Zelda." He replies.
"Sounds good, I'll be there wishing you luck you're going to need it!" She says, "that or you know preparing you a nice hospital bed" she teased giving him a slight nudge.
"Oh haha" he said while she chuckled.
"Alright Dark Link goodnight, and thank you once again." She says, picking up her large bag of winnings and walking off. Dark Link just stood there with a smile on his face which gradually turned into a psychotic grin.
"My pleasure princess" he says in a deep dark tone.
Inside…
Lucina just stood there looking at the giant stuffed unicorn sitting on her bed. All the while Raven sat next to it leaning against it.
"Isn't it adorable! And it's so soft!" Raven says, running her hand across its side.
"Yeah I'll be sure to burn it tomorrow, right now I'm tired" Lucina replies, dropping her bag of winnings next to her bed and heading to the restroom to prepare for bed
"Oh be mad at him all you want but don't take it out on the unicorn!" She protests, giving it a big squeeze.
Elsewhere…
"Heyyy!" Shulk says as Dark Pit enters the room raising a can of soda towards him. There were a few of them already scattered at his feet and he burped loudly and continued playing his game. "Grab a drink and kick back!" Shulk says, Pittoo turns towards the counter and sees a slightly larger fridge than before, crammed with sugary drinks and even energy drinks. "Toss me a medpack Link!" Shulk says while mashing buttons furiously while his tongue hangs out the side of his face.
"I thought you stopped pretending to be obnoxious, '' Pittoo asks while taking an energy drink and cracking it open.
"Listen man, just because I'm no longer going to be overly obnoxious doesn't mean I'm not going to enjoy myself anymore. I mean no offense to her or anything, but it was exhausting living with Raven!" He says crumbling his can of soda and tossing it aside, "it was like having a second wife, it's a nightmare" he adds before burping into his hand. "Don't believe the stereotypes either, bookworms can be slobs too!" He says.
"Yeah I figured that the moment I noticed you weren't wearing pants" Pittoo remarks while the blonde waved him off.
"Eh, who needs them!" He shrugs casually. "Damn dead first again!" He says tossing his controller aside. "And yeah I plan to enjoy a bachelor's life as long as I can before ya know" he says getting up to grab another soda.
"Oh you guys are in that dungeon?" Pittoo says pointing towards the TV, "you have to tick eat the damage as the tank, as soon as the monster attacks you have to over heal so you can tank the hit." He explained while Shulk looked at him with a look of revelation.
"Of course!" He says, smacking his head, "I always just try to use the charges on my shield of spirits, but it gets too low halfway through!" Shulk says and then he picks up another controller motioning towards the dark angel. "Wanna play?" He says shaking it around and Pittoo shrugs.
"Yeah why not, not to brag but I already got the complete inferno armor" he says.
"No way!" Shulk says plopping back into his bed. "I've been trying forever to get that but my RNG is shit" Shulk says.
"Oh not to worry I'll make sure you have a shiny new set of armor before the day is done!" The dark angel says as he puts on his headset. "Alright losers, listen up, I'm in charge now and if you do exactly what I say we'll live through this and walk away with some bitchin' rewards!" He says.
"Heeeeyyyy it's Dark Pit! *hic*" they heard Link from the other side.
"Is Link drunk?" He says turning towards the monado wielder who pinched the bridge of his nose.
"He went out to dinner with Zelda and accidentally ordered alcoholic ice tea and chugged it all." Shulk explained while Pittoo shook his head.
"Alright, we can still work with that! Link is bait, got it?" He says getting affirmation from the others. "Pit you're in charge of healing, I've seen you play and your reflexes suck!" He says getting a loud audible whine in return.
"The healer!" He groans, "that's the most boring job!" He whined.
"Take it up with my fist if you have a problem, pitstain!" he retorts, "the rest of you you hit low, I'll hit high, let's show this bastard who's boss!" Pittoo says as they all spawn into the dungeon and a huge beast turns towards them letting out a thunderous roar.
"We got dis!" Ike says enthusiastically.
"Take my fire!" Roy calls out as he charges.
"I lobe you guy'sh!" Link blurts out.
"It's Shulk time!" The blonde says, following after the others.
"This sucks…" Pit mumbled.
Meanwhile…
"You WHAT!?" Raven called out slamming open the door to the restroom. She had just gotten out of the shower so she had a towel wrapped around herself while her wet hair dangled loosely at her sides.
"What, we're just going to go ice skating tomorrow, it's no big deal!" Lucina says while she brushes her hair.
"Lucy just because he didn't murder you tonight doesn't mean you should push your luck!" The tactician exclaimed.
"Oh, would you relax!" Lucina says with a frustrated look. "You're overexaggerating!" She bluntly states.
"Am I?" She begins, "he also did something similar last tournament with Zelda, he got close with her and then bam! He's holding her hostage and using her as bait to finish off Link once and for all!" Raven explains while banging her hand on the counter. "Sound familiar?" She asks while crossing her arms.
"You're overreacting, who would he even lure while using me as bait?" The bluenette remarks, "he did that specifically to Zelda because he really doesn't like Link and gets back at him in any way he can. And just for your information he told me this story already and Zelda was completely unharmed during the whole ordeal."
"Yeah but still, he can use it to blackmail Marth to get something, seeing as how Marth is a sitting member of the Elite Six." She says while Lucina gives her a look of disbelief, "there's Robin!"
"If he wanted to get at Robin I'd help him!" Lucina flat out states.
"Or gods forbid me!" Raven cries out, jabbing her hands into her chest.
"What would Dark Link even have against you? He doesn't even know you!" She states.
"It doesn't matter, that sadistic ass never needs a reason to make someone miserable!" Raven says but the bluenette wasn't hearing it.
"I'm going Raven and that's final" she says getting into her bed and turning away from the tactician. Raven just growls at herself and walks away.
"Fine, get killed!" She calls out before locking herself in the restroom again.
*afterwards*
The days went on and of course Lucina and Dark Link were spending more time hanging out now that she was giving Dark Pit the cold shoulder. Skating, Movies, exotic food joints, theme parks, fairs, arcades they practically did it all, they even went to the fighting ring she went with Pittoo too. Although this time she didn't have someone there to give her an aneurysm. Doromongu wasn't all that pleased when he saw her in the crowd again, although she assured him Dark Pit wasn't there to cause trouble this time. Not that it mattered he was soundly defeated by something called an 'Incineroar' that night. Pittoo did take notice of all the time they spent however and it seemed to bother him more than he'd like to admit, especially since Lucina still wouldn't even talk to him. And knowing Dark Link he was just doing it to piss him off, since he apparently hates socializing and interaction. Although he had a very stupid plan to try and get back at her however as petty as that sounded.
"Robin, how's it going!" The dark angel says barging into his room, the door was open so he figured why not.
"Ganon isn't here at the moment I'm afraid, he went out to procure some personal items" the tactician replied.
"Oh no worry I was actually here to see you!" Pittoo says, earning a puzzled look from the tactician.
"Oh and for what purpose?" He says as he begins hammering away at the wall.
"I just feel like we never really got to know each other, you know?" He states nonchalant
"Alright, could you grab that end please?" Robin asked motioning to the other side if the bookshelf he was holding up. Pittoo walked over and helped him keep it up while he hammered it in place.
"What are you doing anyway?" Dark Pit asks curiously.
"Ganon accidentally placed a cursed book of his on our old bookshelf which disintegrated, so I took it upon myself to put up a new one." He replied, hammering away again.
"Cool, you want to hang out later like grab some lunch or something?" He asked while the tactician made sure the self was firmly in place
"If you're trying to make Lucina jealous you're seriously trying with the wrong twin here." Robin states as he placed his hammer on his toolbelt wiping his brow with the back of his hand.
"What? Come on, don't be ridiculous, why would…" he says before Robin gives him a flat look. "Look I know all about her new friend, I much rather she didn't spend her time with such an individual with a reputation such as his. I'd hate to see her get hurt, and as much as I'd like to tell her this, I know for a fact she much rather drive a sword through me than hears me out. So if you causing a ruse could help prevent that I'd be more than happy to lend you some assistance. And If I had to pick between him and yourself, I'd rather she stuck with you."
"Any idea where I could find your twin?" Pittoo groans in defeat.
"She's usually in the library studying lore at this hour, but you didn't hear that from me, I don't want to be associated with this ruse." The tactician says opening a paint can and dipping a brush into it before passing it over the wooden shelf he just put up.
Pittoo walks off and practically glides down the stairs as he makes his way to the giant library in the far back of the mansion. He pushes the large doors open and finds a few smashers sitting in different spots but he doesn't find his intended target. He was about to turn and leave when he spotted her coming out of an aisle with a stack of books she places down at a nearby table and takes a seat. "Bingo" he says and makes his way over with a sly grin. He takes his seat across from her and places his hands in the table with a stupid look on his face.
"Roy I swear if you're here to get me to fall for another one of your practical jokes I'm going to set you on fire!" She says lowering the book she had in her hands only to be surprised to find the dark angel there instead.
"Oh, it's you… Is there something I can help you with?" She says puzzled
"Nah I'm just bored and there's nothing to do around here, and Lucina is out with DL again." He says while she looked in thought for several seconds.
"Actually now that I have you here I've been meaning to ask you if you could fill me in on a little bit more about the gods from your world." She says closing her book and setting it on her piled.
"They're all self entitled and stupid, what else is there to say" he replies while she lowers her head.
"Gee thanks, I learned so much" she remarks.
"Glad to help!" He says leaning back in his seat and placing his hands behind his head.
"I know why you're here Dark Pit" she states while she traced her finger along a book and scribbled some notes down.
"Oh come on, is it that obvious!?" He blurts out throwing his arms up.
"It is unmistakingly and painfully obvious I'm afraid" she says, dipping her pen in some ink before she continues her scribbling. "I'm sorry to say I can't help you, if you truly want Lucina to forgive you you're going to have to search deep within yourself to find the answer." She says while turning the page in her book.
"Yeah… That…" He says slowly, "how did Robin catch on so quickly?" Be thought to himself.
"Word of advice, simple gifts won't cut it, if anything you're just agitating her further" Raven says.
"Hey would you mind if I picked your brain for a bit, maybe brainstorm some ideas with you?" He asks "preferably somewhere less glum?" He adds as she continues to skim through the book.
"I'm rather busy today I'm afraid" she says quickly.
"Oh I'm sure you can take a small bit of time, I'll even pay!" He bargains.
"Pay for what exactly?" She says flipping the page of the book again and dipping her pen.
"Coffee? Tea? A burger? Taco? Or lunch in general? Or possibly dinner?" He says while she placed her pen down and looked like she was about to turn down the offer again. "I'll tell you all about Hades!" He blurts out quickly before she refuses again. She closed her book after that and looked more enthusiastic about it now.
"Well in that case coffee sounds like a great idea!" She says getting up from her seat and pocketing her notebook in her coat. "Palutena and Pit wouldn't so much as mutter a word about him." She says while he gets up smiling sheepishly, he wasn't surprised that guy put them through hell. "I know this great little cafe on the far side of town that has these adorable little pies!" She says moving her hands in a circular motion.
"Sounds great!" He says he may have had one plan at first but then he realized something else. He was sitting on a gold mine of information, no one knows Lucina better than Raven, hell she even kept a full detailed entry about her in her notes. He can use the tactician to get into the mind of the swordswoman and hash out their differences. And hey bonus points if Lucina actually starts to have a problem with them hanging out as well. "Hey won't you get in trouble for leaving all these books out?" He asked, seeing the table completely scattered.
"Not really I'm the librarian afterall" she says casually.
"I thought it was Zelda?" He questions.
"It was but with all her duties she already had with the elite six she opted to drop the position and I signed up." Raven says as they head out the doors of the library. "I get to spend all day in my favorite place and get paid for it, what's not to like?" She adds as she hums to herself in delight.
"Wait you get paid for those positions, I always assumed everyone did it because they had nothing better to do!" He is completely surprised. "Oh I wonder if anyone is in charge of the arcade room?" He thought aloud.
"Yeah, Toon Link already filled that position, he signed up the first day." She replied while he snapped in frustration.
"Damn!" He says, "There has to be something open right?"
"Maybe?" She says thinking to herself, "I have the library, Toon the arcade, Little Mac has the gym, Rosalina has the childrens play area, Ike has the weapons training hall, Luigi manages the snack bar, Lucario manages the indoor Pokemon arena, Cpt. Falcon manages the track field, Fox manages the garage, Olimar manages the green houses and gardens, Snow of course is in charge of the yoga studio, Dr. Mario the infirmary of course, Pac-Man manages the hedge maze, Greninja manages both indoor and outdoor pools, Ganon is in charge of the basement, Ike is in charge of the TV room, R.O.B is in charge of the control room, Jigglypuff is in charge of the karaoke bar which no one uses aside from her, Falco manages the theater, Palutena manages the laundromat, Kirby handles the art room, Bowser Jr runs the electronics room, and Villager runs the woodshop, and lastly Peach was very adamant about remaining in charge of the Kitchen." Raven finished as he counted off her fingers multiple times.
"Is there anything even left?" PIttoo sighed.
"Maybe? You can check the bulletin board in the lobby, Master Hand always has open positions listed up there, then fill out the form and hand it in at his office. He usually gets back to you after a few days." She informs him. He thought it through and might check it out later today if he has the chance, who knows maybe something fun is still open.
Later that night…
"Interesting" Raven says taking mental notes as Pittoo described most of his stories. They opted to walk home instead of taking transportation so they could have more chances to talk. Afterall the cafe they went to really wasn't that far off from the mansion either. And not that he would admit it ever but the sweets there were to die for! Even if they were adorable little miniatures. Once they entered the mansion's golden gates Dark Pit let out a yawn.
"Oh I'm beat, I think I'm going to call it a night there." He says, rubbing his tired eyes.
"Alright, hey listen I'd love to pick your brain about that mirror you mentioned sometime, once again your companions failed to mention that to me as well." Raven says while he pauses for a few moments.
"I'll see, my schedule is sort of jam packed tomorrow, so rain check?" He says pointing at her for affirmation.
"Just let me know when, you know where to find me" she says waving him off as he flies away.
"There you are, where have you been?" Lucina says coming around the side of the mansion.
"Oh your partner and I went out for sweets in exchange for some critical information I've been itching to get my hands on!" Raven replied, taking out her notebook quickly jotting down some notes for later.
"Did you get dumber or just lose your mind altogether?" Lucina remarks.
"Excuse me?" Raven says pocketing her journal and placing her hands on her hips.
"Raven, Raven, Raven!" Lucina begins while shaking her head with a tisk, "don't you see he's just using you to get to me, you're a means to an end." She tells the tactician while shaking her back and forth.
"Hey I'm using him just as much as he is using me fyi" Raven quickly defends herself.
"That's just what he wants you to think, he probably just told you a load of rubbish just to get what he wanted from you!" The bluenette says.
I would've guessed that too, except what he told me matched with the very little information I managed to gather in our database, so he was actually being honest. Go figure." The tactician says plainly. "Besides that he actually agreed to let me pick his brain again!" She says, a little too excited for the bluenettes' liking.
"Fine! do whatever you want," she brushed her off and headed inside. Raven just shrugged to herself and followed suit.
Meanwhile way above them on one of the upper balconies Dark Pit stood out of sight mentally high fiving himself. "Two can play that game, princess!" He says and walks off rather proud of himself.
"Let me ask you something?" Raven says as they both enter the room.
"What now?" Lucina replied in a bored tone.
"What exactly are you so upset about, obviously this is much more than just the bear anymore?" Raven asked. Lucina paused for a moment before sitting at the edge of her bed.
"When I had that talk with my mother and Caeda a week ago I realized they were right. Dark Pit and I had been acting too immaturely and not taking ourselves seriously. He was there with me when we swore to try to better ourselves and act more maturely, I mean we're not children for crying out loud. And just as they both leave again he immediately reverts back to his old self, like it didn't matter to him. I came to the realization that maybe he can't change or simply he won't change, and to be honest it made me start questioning my choices and even regretting others." Lucina said while Raven listened closely.
"Oh Lucy, you can't just expect him to change after one day! Change isn't just magically going to happen overnight." The tactician replies, taking a seat next to the Bluenette. "After everything you've been through together you really believe he's incapable?" She asked while rubbing her back slowly.
"I… I don't know anymore" Lucina admits, before she abruptly turns to the tactician. "Regardless, why are you defending him all of the sudden? I seem to recall you very specifically stating that you didn't trust him nor liked him." The bluenette asked.
"I'm not taking sides here alright, and I'll admit that after getting the time to properly know him a little better I may have been a little too hasty with my judgment." Raven says while Lucina gives her another look.
"You had one trip with him and suddenly you're both buddies now?" Lucina remarks.
"No, that's not what I implied at all!" Raven reasoned.
"Sure looks that way!" She fired back, "what's next you're both going to get matching tattoos?" Lucina adds while Raven just shook her head in disbelief.
"This is pointless!" The tactician cried out getting up and heading towards the restroom to prepare for bed.
*meanwhile*
"All is going according to plan!" DTL says with a mischievous grin plastered on his face. He hands a vial over to Dark Link with a strange dark liquid in them. "That wasn't easy to get my hands on FYI" he adds while crossing his little arms.
"Not to worry my friend, you'll be paid in full when this is all over." the dark hylian assured his counterpart. He throws in a lock of blue hair into the mixture and mixes it around causing the substance to start to bubble and steam, just before he pours the vial over a tray that had a silver bracelet laying on it. The substance begins to mold into the bracelet and then seemingly seeps into it. Once the substance was completely absorbed the bracelet was surrounded by a dark aura. Dark Link smiled wickedly to himself as he picked up the bracelet with some tongs and carefully placed it in a small box. "It's ready…" He says in a low voice while DTL cackles to himself.
"I live for days like these!" DTL squeals in excitement
"Your death shall bring dishonor." Dark Link whispered to himself before placing the lid on the tiny gift box….
