Empoleon and Sceptile were sitting inside a cell awaiting execution at the hands of Scizor. Both were wondering what went wrong in all of this, where Zoroark is among much more.
"This is quite a bad situation we have ended up in," Empoleon commented.
"That is a bit of an understatement," Sceptile responded.
"Yeah, I know. We need to find a way to get out of here, Sceptile. We can't give up now," Empoleon commented.
"It's over for us, Empoleon. We have lost and soon our lives will end," Sceptile said, pessimistic about the whole situation and having lost hope.
"If this is the end for us, Sceptile. I have to say I am honored to have you as my best friend," Empoleon said.
Sceptile started slightly crying, an unusual sight for him, while Sceptile was commenting, "I am glad to have had you as my friend as well, Empoleon. If this is the end for us, it has been a good run."
"At least we die trying to do something good," Empoleon commented.
As Empoleon and Sceptile were sitting inside their cell contemplating the end of their lives, there was something else even bigger going on. Darkrai was talking to every single member of the Brotherhood. There was a massive crowd of people and some were seeing Darkrai for the first time. Darkrai's plan was getting fully into motion, and he was ready to begin.
"Greetings my glorious members of this wonderful organization. It is time for the day of reckoning to begin. We shall rule this world and bring order to it where the rest of the world could not. Today is your ultimate day. Today will be the day that goes down in history forever. Today is the day of The Brotherhood!"
The entire crowd of people cheered for Darkrai as loudly as they could. Darkrai thought that everything was going exactly as he wanted, and he loved how much his Pokémon loved this. It was everything that Darkrai had ever dreamed of.
"Amazing speech master," Aegislash commented.
"Why thank you, Aegislash. I have everyone on my side and they will remain on my side when all of this is accomplished," Darkrai commented.
"I will grab the machine out as you said. It is time," Aegislash said.
Aegislash grabbed the machine that Darkrai was planning to use. He would send a dark void through the machine, which would spread it across the entire world. Everything that Darkrai was building towards was to use this one machine. Everyone would be in an eternal nightmare, and his organization could easily take over the entire world. The crowd of Pokémon was going crazy, cheering like nothing that had ever been seen before as Aegislash was bringing the machine out.
Once Aegislash brought the machine out, Darkrai got out his hands, opened his palm, and aimed toward the machine while saying, "The day of reckoning has begun."
Darkrai launched a dark void inside the machine. Things, however, took a very different direction than anyone thought they would. The Dark Void ended up absorbed into the machine, causing a lightning strike that hit Darkrai and knocked him back. At the same time, every single alarm inside of the place had been set off at once. The entire crowd started panicking, not understanding what was going on.
"What! This wasn't supposed to happen," Aegislash said.
"The machine had been worked on extensively; how could it fail now," Rapidash said.
"This isn't a glitch I sense this is a deliberate act of sabotage. But the only way someone could mess with the machine was through the control panel," Aegislash then came to a realization of what was going on and told Rapidash, "Take care of Darkrai I need to go handle something." Aegislash heads off to the control room.
Meanwhile, Empoleon and Sceptile are still locked away when all the alarms go off at once as well. Scizor ends up briefly distracted trying to figure out what is going on. Empoleon sees a chance and tells Sceptile, "Now is our chance to get out."
"What's that point, we have lost?" Sceptile responded.
"We don't give up easily; there has to be a way," Empoleon began to think and then said, "Sceptile, our water tornado might be enough to break through the bars."
"I hope you're right." Sceptile began spinning his leaves in a tornado while Empoleon launched water fast. Normally, Scizor could stop this, but he was distracted, giving Empoleon and Sceptile the chance they needed to build this up. By the time Scizor noticed it was too late, the tornado had been built up and using it, Sceptile launched it and broke through the bars, freeing themselves. It worked. Sceptile's hope was brought back again and he was ready to keep going.
Empoleon attacked Scizor from behind, hitting him with his hydro pump and knocking him out. Scizor did not have time to respond as he was taken off guard.
Meanwhile, inside the control room, Zoroark was working on the control panel. She was the cause of all of this, and her plan for disruption had gone seamlessly. Aegislash arrived at the control room and saw what Zoroark was doing. The first thing that he shouted out was, "Your lies have been exposed now, Greninja."
"It's already too late, Aegislash, everyone was fooled and this operation has been compromised irreparably," Zoroark responded.
"I was not fooled though, I always knew that there was something up with you, and now I will take you down personally," Aegislash got his sword out ready for a battle against Zoroark.
"I am ready for you, Aegislash."
Aegislash launched a shadow ball at Zoroark, and Zoroark destroyed it with her dark pulse. Zoroark then fired a dark pulse directly at Aegislash, which he dodged out of the way of and attempted to counter with his sword. Zoroark dodged out of the way of the sword and struck back with another dark pulse. Aegislash was able to block it just in time and absorb most of the damage.
Zoroark ran up to Aegislash and tried to slash him with her claws. Aegislash was able to block each hit, but Zoroark eventually hit him with a dark pulse that sent him flying into the wall. Aegislash got back up and fired more and more shadow balls. Zoroark launched dark pulse after dark pulse to destroy them as Aegislash came in in an attempt to finish her off with his sword, but Zoroark was barely able to block it. Zoroark used her feet to kick Aegislash back and then hit him point blank with another dark pulse.
Aegislash was knocked to the ground, beaten and defeated Zoroark came up to Aegislash and the only thing he could say was, "So what are you going to do, just kill me? Have the revenge that you have probably been dreaming of your entire life?"
"Killing you right now would be so simple. I want you to watch as everything that you have worked for falls apart," Zoroark said. Zoroark then tied Aegislash up and left him there. Aegislash was stunned, but it made a twisted amount of sense. He had done everything to aid The Brotherhood to victory, and now he was powerless to stop its possible demise. It was the ultimate revenge.
Zoroark made her way outside of the control room, ready to go find the big boss himself, Darkrai. At the same time, Empoleon and Sceptile were running out of the cells trying to find a way out of the place or possibly take down the Brotherhood. At this point, they were just scrambling to figure out what to do. Empoleon and Sceptile ended up running into Zoroark.
"Zoroark, there you are," Sceptile said.
"Empoleon, Sceptile, good to see you again. I need your help. The day of taking down the Brotherhood is here," Zoroark said.
"Wait, what is going on, Zoroark? Where have you been? How has all of this happened?" Sceptile asked.
"It's time for me to reveal the truth," Zoroark says. After she says that, she transforms into Greninja. Right away, Sceptile and Empoelon know what is going on, and Zoroark is all too quick to explain, "I have been spending all this time infiltrating the Brotherhood and now with their plan disrupted, it is our chance to take them down once and for all."
"Wait, are you telling us that you led us into a death trap? What in Arceus' sake were you thinking? We could have been killed," Sceptile shouted, and then slapped Zoroark with his hands in anger.
"I can't believe that Zoroark, why would you do that?" Empoleon asked.
"I did what I had to do. The Brotherhood needed to go down, and it was a risk I was willing to take," Zoroark said.
"That was still insane. Why do you think we would want to help you take down The Brotherhood after this stunt you pulled," Sceptile stated.
"I do think we should Sceptile. I don't like what she did either, but this is still The Brotherhood and if we have the chance to take them down, we shouldn't pass up on that opportunity," Empoleon suggested.
"Ugh, alright, you have a point, but don't think this means I am happy about what happened to Zoroark," Sceptile stated.
"I understand."
The trio started running over to where Darkrai was. They made their way through several Brotherhood members who were all panicking at what was happening. After Darkrai woke up, he retreated to his room to try and figure out what happened. Zoroark was quickly able to follow him to that exact location.
The trio makes their way to the door, where Zoroark knows that Darkrai is right behind it. This is the moment that she has been waiting for. Zoroark blasts the door down with her dark pulse and sees Darkrai just floating there. Zoroark lets out the first words, "Your reign of terror is about to end Darkrai."
"You three have been a massive pain in my neck, I don't understand what went wrong, but I will find the problem and eliminate it," Darkrai responded.
"Well, you're about to understand," Zoroark says as he quickly transforms into Greninja and then back into Zoroark.
Darkrai was pissed to learn this and he flipped out, "You are telling me that you have been Greninja all this time! AND YOU WERE THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THIS!"
Darkrai had gone off like nothing else before he started firing dark pulses and dark voids in rapid succession all at once. Darkrai then shouted, "You will all suffer for this!" Darkrai fired a dark void directly at Empoleon. Empoleon got hit by it and instantly fell asleep. Empoleon would get horrible nightmares and was now in constant pain. Sceptile immediately rushed over to try and help Empoleon.
"The power of the nightmare is something that you can never surpass, Zoroark," Darkrai said.
Zoroark, in anger, launches a dark pulse at Darkrai and Darkrai quickly counters with his dark pulse and the two moves clash. Zoroark tries to use her dark pulse to overpower Darkrai's, but he is incredibly strong and she is having trouble with it. Darkrai is also trying to overpower Zoroark with his dark pulse and is making progress as his power is much greater than Darkrai's.
Meanwhile, Sceptile is trying to wake Empoleon up from his nightmare inflected by Darkrai. Sceptile first keeps shouting, "Wake up!" over and over again. Eventually, Sceptile gets desperate and starts using some of his attacks on Empoleon. He gets out his leaf blade and starts slashing Empoleon with it multiple times. Sceptile then launched a dragon pulse at Empoleon, and the combination was enough to wake Empoleon up.
When Empoleon woke up, he instantly started sweating, heavily terrified of what he had just gone through and panicking.
"Empoleon, are you okay?" Sceptile asked.
"That was horrible, Sceptile. I would not wish that experience on my worst enemy," Empoleon said.
"Well, we need to stop Darkrai so that he doesn't do it to everyone," Sceptile commented.
"Darkrai is too powerful for us; we can't beat him directly," Empoleon commented.
"If we can't beat him directly maybe we can take away the thing that he relies on," Sceptile got an idea. He knew from Zoroark that Darkrai was going to use a machine to trap the entire world in an eternal nightmare. If they destroyed that machine, they would take away Darkrai's powerful weapon. Sceptile very quickly whispered to Empoleon the idea. Very quickly, they were both off while Zoroark was continuing to fight Darkrai.
Empoleon and Sceptile made their way back to the room where Darkrai gave his presentation. Most of the rest of the Brotherhood members were scrambling, so they weren't a problem. Empoleon and Sceptile were quickly able to find the machine, but before they could destroy it, someone launched a dark move at them. Empoleon and Sceptile turned around to see that it was Dark Empoleon who was there to stop them from destroying the machine. Dark Empoleon no longer spoke as Darkrai was busy fighting Zoroark, but Dark Empoleon was still deadly and dangerous.
Empoleon and Sceptile rushed forward, each of them simultaneously taking on Dark Empoleon in direct combat. Empoleon and Sceptile were able to hold their own against Dark Empoleon on their own, but neither was able to match him individually. Empoleon and Sceptile tried to destroy the machine while taking him on, but each time they got interrupted by Dark Empoleon and they both ended up knocked back to the ground.
"How are we going to destroy this machine like this?" Empoleon asked.
"If we can't destroy it ourselves, maybe we can make him do it for us," Sceptile suggested.
The plan is what they both silently agreed to do. Empoleon jumped back and lured Dark Empoleon to attack him right next to the machine. Empoleon then slid under Dark Empoleon, and Sceptile used his leaf blade to knock Dark Empoleon back onto the machine. Dark Empoleon's impact on the machine clashed with the powers, and the machine was fried and then exploded from the force. The plan had worked.
Something rather strange happened, though. The darkness inside Dark Empoleon vanished. It was now back to regular Empoleon color. Empoleon immediately rushed over to see what was going on.
"I am finally free," the other Empoleon said.
"I don't understand," Empoleon questioned.
"Thanks so much, now I am finally free," the other Empoleon said, after uttering those words, dying in Empoleon's arms. Empoleon felt sad about what happened, despite this thing attempting to kill them for a while. This gave him the knowledge that it was some innocent creature, trapped and corrupted by Darkrai himself. But their goal was accomplished, and Darkrai's plan had been ruined.
In the meantime, Zoroark and Darkrai were still fighting, and Darkrai was getting the upper hand and dominating Zoroark. Zoroark was able to barely hold on, but it was looking more and more hopeless. Darkrai was close to finishing her off, but Empoleon and Sceptile rushed in.
"So you're finally back to help your little friend over here," Darkrai commented.
"No, Darkrai, we're only here to inform you that your little plan has failed. Your precious machine has been destroyed and I doubt you will be making a new one anytime soon," Sceptile said.
Darkrai was sent into a fury after hearing this. He screamed out heavily and then let out a string of dark pulses, which the two only barely dodged out of the way off. Darkrai created a massive smoke cloud that allowed him to escape. Empoleon immediately rushed over to help Zoroark up.
At the same time, Dakrai retreated to a private room where he was talking to some mysterious figure.
"My plan has faced a little setback, but I will get back," Darkrai said.
"A little setback is what you call that. This plan has been an utter failure. You have failed for the last time, Darkrai, and you are no longer useful," the mysterious figure said.
"Please don't, father; I did everything you asked of me, and you promised he wouldn't get hurt," Darkrai pleaded.
"You are nothing." The mysterious figure, after saying that, launched an attack that created a massive explosion. One that he intended to use to destroy the entire building. Darkrai could do nothing but scream in terror as he was consumed by the explosion.
At the same time, Empoleon and Sceptile were helping Zoroark up when the explosion came towards them. They instantly knew this was bad and started trying to run away as fast as they could. They couldn't outrun the explosion though, but luckily, Deoxys, who had been observing everything that was going on, knew they were in mortal danger and teleported the three out of the building before they were consumed. The trio teleported onto a rock close to the mountain, and they saw as the entire mountain exploded.
All three didn't understand what could have possibly just happened.
