Chapter 40

The Fusion of Goku and Seventeen was now levitating in the sky in front of the two Fallen Angels Towa and Saek.

The multiple barriers that Seventeen had used to hold the two back until one moment earlier had disappeared in the moment they had fused.

But the barriers were not longer needed anyway.

The fused warrior was now facing both of the Fallen Angels. But for maybe the first time, they were actually looking insecure.

If Goku and Seventeen alone could hold themselves against them, what could a Fusion of them do? They could not even tell how strong exactly he was, since just like with Seventeen and Eighteen, even they could not sense his energy.

But that was not even the end of their situation right now.

"Seventeen, Goku-" Eighteen approached them, "leave this bitch here to me," she said, pointing at Towa. "Don´t worry about me, I can take her."

"Okay," the Fusion Warrior replied. "I will go and help the Grandpriest."

"Just go," Eighteen said.

The Fusion of Goku and Seventeen flew forward with his arms stretched in front of his head... and rammed right into Saek´s stomach with enough force that the Fallen Angel bend over helplessly as the impact instantly beat his breath and his fight out of him.

And so the fused warrior, in a scene that would have looked funny in any other situation, just pushed him along in front of himself as he flew towards Demigra.

After showing a surprised and weirded out grimace for a short moment, Towa caught herself and then showed her usual confident - or maybe overconfident - expression.

"Now - you are quite confident, aren´t you Eighteen?" she said.

The Android was only looking at her coldly.

"Yes," she replied.

The Grandpriest´s situation meanwhile was getting more and more desperate as he was facing his now two opponents and trying to fight off attacks from both sides.

He had just barely dodged two strikes from the staff of one Demigra using Ultra Instinct and at the same time used his hand to block a ki blast from the other one.

That simple one handed blast would have been able to wipe out multiple galaxis, had it not been for it´s perfectly concentrated and focussed energy. It just broke on his hand. But at the same time this cost even him a noticable part of his own energy.

The Grandpriest knew he was loosing. He was simply being overwhelmed.

He could only hope that help for him would arrive in time.

He had sensed Goku using the Potara. His energy seemed however to have disappeared right afterwards. So he guessed his fusion-partner had been one of the Androids.

Vegeta and Beby continued their stand-off.

"Now Vegeta - what will you do now?" Beby asked him. "Do you really believe you can keep your word to your friend and save my host-body?"

"Yes - I do," Vegeta replied.

"You are talking about your spirit-fission technique, I guess. We will see about that," Beby stated. "Maybe I will just not give you the chance to use it?"

Beby-Gohan moved into a certain stance. One that Vegeta would recognize anywhere.

"I think you know this technique. Kamehame..."

Beby begann the moves to fire Kamehameha - what he had taken from Gohan´s memories... and Vegeta charged up his own attack as well.

A white glowing energy started to surround Gohan´s possessed body.

One moment later their blasts clashed with each other - Kamehameha against Final Flash.

His opponent was powerful, Vegeta knew - maybe even rivalling his own power. The question was how much of that came from that parasite Beby and how much from Gohan?

He knew that Gohan had become much more powerful during the last couple years. But he was not sure how much exactly.

Their beam-struggle finally ended without a winner, as both of them redirected their blasts up into the sky instead of trying to vaporize their opponent.

"Yes - you are truly not trying to kill your friend Gohan, aren´t you?" Beby stated mockingly.

"You are truly every bit the monster you accuse the Saiyans to be, aren´t you?" Vegeta retorted.

"Don´t even try," Beby said.

"I have stopped trying to be `better´ than you Saiyans a long time ago. Your little friend is right. I was born as a weapon of mass-destruction - a monster. But as our past shows us Vegeta, monsters will always have the upper hand against civilized beings. So I will be the best monster I can be, a better monster than you and your kind."

"Here you are wrong Beby," Vegeta stated. "I would know best. I have been a monster for a long time, but I have never been as strong as I wanted to be, until I stopped being a monster."

"We will see about that," Beby replied.

Suddenly a blast was being shot at Vegeta from behind. A blast that was however blocked by Future Trunks before it hit him.

Cabba had moved to help Piccolo, as good as he could, against the giant monster Cell Max.

That left only the father and future-son duo to face the possessed Gohan.

As Vegeta looked around, he saw that it had been the android-being named Mira who had fired at him, who had obviously come up again after the damage he had taken earlier.

"I will take care of this guy father," Future Trunks said.

"Don´t get involved with Vegeta," Beby addressed Mira. "This is between him and me. Or should I say, between him, me... and Gohan?" Beby said sinisterly.

After their blasts, now their fists clashed with each other. With Vegeta now using Forced Spirit Fission with his strikes.

But like Beby had predicted, it´s effect on him was limited.

Gohan´s body was shaking and his face was twisting for a moment as the technique hit him, but Beby was not separated from his vessel.

"I told you, it is not easy to rip me from my host," he said. "You will have to kill him to tear us apart."

"Maybe," Vegeta replied. "But only if you think this is all I have in the back-hand."

"Really?" Beby commented. "There is also something else you should know. While we are here my forces had been send to attack the Earth of your universe while you are gone. So I fear even if you through some wonder manage to survive here, you will find nothing but ash and a conquered planet when you return."

Vegeta just smiled in response.

"You should know, I am pretty confident that our allies we have home can deal with any of your followers," he said.

While the two were fighting, Future Trunks and Mira were also facing each other. Both already damaged and injured from their earlier fights.

Normal Timeline - on Earth, at the same time

Meanwhile back in their own world, a large space-vessel had suddenly appeared over the planet.

A short moment later several locks were opened on the ship and a large fleet of smaller machines came flying out and descended down into the atmosphere.

Most of them were an armada of small floating box-shaped robots, with no legs and only large heads and two mechanical arms.

These small robots were not really a threat by themselves. They were merely acting as scouts and probes and spreading all over the planet.

Marron and Pan both admitted that they actually looked somehow cute as they saw them.

They were however being followed by a group of different figures.

One of them was the Android called `Doctor Myu´ who had been present when Beby had been send off from Planet Plant all those years ago.

Next to him stood another taller and broader looking being with the same light blue skin color.

Behind them was a group of four larger, more aggressive looking robot-like beings.

"General Rilldo," Doctor Myu adressed the other one, "you know Lord Beby´s orders. Find all Saiyans and their relatives and eliminate them. Then take control of the rest of this planet."

"Yes Doctor Myu," he replied. "Sigma Force," he addressed the four large robot beings. All of them looked as if they could have been part of the warriors from Universe 3.

"One moment," someone called out.

A group of eight people suddenly appeared out of the sky and landed in front of them.

It were Goten and Trunks, Uub, Fat Buu, Android 21, Krillin, Marron and Pan.

"There is no need to look for us," Trunks said. "We Saiyans and our allies are already here."

"I told you it was better if you staid away," Goten turned to the four year old Pan.

"But I want to be here," she responded. "I want to help and the fight seems to going to be fun."

"But stay back at least," Goten told her. "This guys are still too much for you."

"Okay."

"And you should better too Marron," he addressed his girlfriend.

"I know," she replied. "I can sense the power of these gus as well. And they are not even serious."

"Strange - these for are robots. But we can somehow feel their energy," Uub stated.

"You are wrong," Twenty One stated as she scanned their opponents. "They are not simply robots or Androids. By my analyses they are organic cells that were somehow merged with metal on a cellular level. Both the humanoid- and the robotic looking ones. Even he."

She pointed at Doctor Myu.

"So you are one of these Androids from this planets that Lord Demigra has told Lord Beby about - fascinating," Doctor Myu stated. "And you are right. We are all Machine Mutants - beings merged of biology and technology, myself included."

"Buu does not care," Fat Buu said. "Buu will just smash you all anyway and then go back home and eat some candy. Mister Satan had promised to prepare some if I fight here."

"General Rilldo," Doctor Myu stated, "kill them all. Except this Android. I could use her as an test subject."

"With pleasure Doctor," he responded.

He moved forward with balled fists. But one moment later Trunks had powered up into Super Saiyan Blue and placed a fist into the tall Machine Mutants General´s face.

At the same time Goten, Twenty One, Uub and Buu had moved and beaten the four robot-like Mutants known as the Sigma Force down in a similar way.

"What did you just say?" Goten asked.

Doctor Myu glared at them enraged.

"Enough," he exclaimed, "Rilldo, Sigma Force - show them what you can really do."

Their world however was not the only one. At several planets, across multiple timelines and universes, invaders showed up, set up by Demigra as an distraction from his true plans.

- In one timeline´s version of Universe 6, an unknown group of monsters had suddenly appeared through an rift in the universe and was hunted down by the Sadallah Defense Force and Hit on order from Champa and Vados.

In the same timeline´s Universe 4, the God of Destruction Quitella had suddenly disappeared without trace. And in Universe 9 the Kaioshin Roh and his God of Destruction Sidhra had declared their `independance´ from Zeno was was riling up their elite warriors to support their rebellion.

- In another timeline´s Universe 7 the Demon Buu had suddenly been freed and the Kaioshin decided to risk waking Beerus to stop him.

And in the same timeline´s Universe 11 a couple of Fallen Angels had suddenly appeared, blew up the Pride Warrior´s headquarter and disappeared without trace.

- In a thirst timeline a group of Demigra´s Second Generation Demons showed up and assassinated the Kaioshins of Universe 1, 5 and 8 and their Gods of Destruction of course died with them.

All that for a single goal - distraction and chaos.

Back at Demigra´s Planet

The two Demigras were still fighting the still living version of the Grandpriest from all sides.

One of them was just charging up a blast to fire it at him, while the Grandpriest was avoiding strikes from the other Demigra´s battle-staff.

As in the same moment the Goku-Seventeen Fusion just arrived from the other side. Along with Saek, who he had been pushing in front of himself the entire time.

And who ended up being thrown at the Demigra who was just charging up the blast in a nearly comedic way, as the Fusion suddenly halted in the air.

For a moment it looked like they would be colliding.

But Demigra just turned turned around and caught the Fallen Angel in the air in the last moment.

"And what exactly was that?" Demigra stated.

"Sorry Father," Saek replied, "they have taken me off-guard."

"I see," Demigra said.

He looked at the Fusion Warrior.

"Well - and by which completely ridiculous made-up name should we call you now - Goku and Seventeen."

"I am not sure," the Fusion responded. "The part of me that is Seventeen does not really care about it anyway. How about Gogou?"

"You have arrived," the Grandpriest stated. "Thank you, that was just in time."

"You - you dare to do this to me?" Saek said angrily to the Fusion Gogou.

The Fallen Angel was clearly not in a good shape. He looked worn out and the impact in his stomach had clearly injured him.

"We are fighting a battle here and this was the easiest way to deal with you," Gogou responded. "We could not expect Eighteen to fight both of you."

Demigra however pointed his staff at Saek, a light was glowing up from it and in the next moment his wound seemed to have disappeared.

One of the two Demigras, along with Saek was now facing Gogou, while the other was still fighting the Grandpriest.

Gogou however, who had until now been in Super Saiyan Four, now transformed into his even more powerful Ascended SSB Kaioken times 20, before he charged at his opponents.

He landed another punch at Saek and just tossed him aside, before clashing with Demigra himself.

Beerus and Toppo were now both clearly having the upper hand against the two versions of Quitella they were fighting.

While at the start, Toppo had some trouble with the far older and more experienced God of Destruction, that changed as he started to force Quitella into a closer one to one fight instead of relying on his Destruction Power.

In hand to hand combat, he was as an experienced fighter and veteran actually closer to be a match to Quitella, who was seldom even being challenged in that regard.

Beerus, who was using a mix of Destruction Power and Ultra Instinct, had the upper hand the entire time.

The version of Quitella he was fighting was at this point only receiving punches from all sides. After a few more seconds he finally collapsed, beaten up and completely exhausted.

Beerus prepared a charge of Destruction Energy to erase the other God of Destruction from existence.

"N-no wait," Quitella said as he saw what Beerus was about to do. "You can not destroy me. I know much about Demigra´s plans. I can tell you. I can help you to stop him."

"If you truly think I would trust anything a dirty rat like you told me," Beerus responded, "then you must be even more stupid than you think I am."

With that he released his Destruction Energy and with one last terrified scream, the former God of Destruction was being erased from existence.

Jiren had by now won the beam-struggle against The Beast. Before his attack hit however, the creature had dematerialized itself - just like the first Hildegarn could do it - and avoided being hit by the blast.

Instead however it burned right through Demigras Castle and completely obliterated it, including the Wizard Hoy, who was still inside, sitting in a `save room´.

"No - no, that can not..." he shouted in his last moments as he saw the blast aiming at the Castle and he and everything around him was annihilated a split-second later.

Before the blast continued it´s way up into the sky.

Without the telepathic guidance from Hoy however, the Beast was now going completely out of control and capable of anything, including blowing up the planet they were on.

But Jiren had another plan.

He unleashed a short, limited, but powerful burst of his own ki, that managed to affect and disturb the Beast even in it´s incorporal state of pure negative energy.

Just like Jiren had intended, as his own energy clashed with the one of the Beast, it instinctively struck back.

The Beast materialized again to attack him.

"Now I have you," Jiren whispered.

And in the moment the Beast struck out at him, he fired another blast, that pierced right through it´s body and with a terrible last growling shout, the Beast exploded and dissolved.

He had won. Exhausted from the fight, he let himself sink back down to the ground.

Just in the last moment he sensed the presence that suddenly appeared behind him out of nowhere.

But before he could react, he had already been shot in the back.

The others, all who could sense God Ki, noticed the new energies at all.

They all realized instantly what happened, especially when they looked up in the sky.

The other three of Demigra´s Fallen Angels had returned - their names were Calver, Jeffra and Krombar (the one who had just shot Jiren) -

... and they had brought the last remaining Super Dragon Balls with them.
