This is going to be known as stepsister!Jensen or melt!verse as I do have a couple of blurbs and another piece I want to post for this particular Jensen. This is my second submission for eddiemunsonweek on tumblr! I hope you guys enjoy!
SUMMARY: For Eddie, it was love at first sight. It just sucked, waiting for Jensen to catch up. Or, the 5 times Eddie thought of Jensen as his girlfriend out and then she was.
one.
Eddie knew one thing: he was never coming back to Camp Northwhere again. One, it was a stupid name. Two, he had been miserable since his dad had dropped him off. He had wanted to spend the summer with his Uncle Wayne. His Uncle Wayne had promised him he would take him to get a guitar to keep at his place since he knew his dad would pawn it.
His dad must have sensed the semblance of happiness and did this out of spite.
Eddie didn't understand why he couldn't live with his Uncle Wayne.
However, Eddie had bigger fish to fry.
Since he arrived in these God-forsaken woods, the second coming of the Grand Inquisitor was after him. He hated the conformity of Hawkins. No one in this stupid city had any goddamn taste.
But after being accused of theft, vandalism, and having his room vandalized he was going to teach these idiots to fear the goddamn devil.
Most of the kids and the counselors were prepping for the stupid Color Wars and it gave Eddie free rein to the craft room. If they wanted the devil Eddie was going to give it to them. He was all about giving a performance.
He was loading up on paint when a voice startled him.
"What are you doing?"
Eddie turned and did everything in his power to not keep his jaw from dropping on the floor or to say something embarrassing.
Camp Nowhere was not completely a bust.
His cheeks reddened as he looked at the girl he had been crushing on since he saw her. He was not drawing doodles of her in his sketchbook.
He licked his lips as his mouth felt dry as cotton. Her brown curly hair sprinkled with honey-kissed blonde streaks bounced with each step she took towards him.
She had a yellow pair of sunglasses acting as a headband.
"You're Eddie, right?" She asked. Her eyes were the color of syrup. They locked to his dark muddy brown ones.
He nodded his head, a bit jerkily. He coughed. "YEAH!" He replied, embarrassingly loudly. The evidence of puberty hitting him full force made him cringe. He cleared his throat. "Yes, I'm Eddie. Eddie Munson."
She extended her hand. "Jensen Thomas."
Eddie accepted it. Hers were smooth. Soft like flower petals. He felt butterflies tickling his ribs.
"I know." He admitted. He had been in awe of her when he first saw her. Her curly hair was a halo that stood out amongst the straight hair of their peers. He had heard she just moved to town with her dad, stepmother, and a younger step-sister.
He knew he had a crush when he heard her humming Jimi Hendrix.
"So, who's the paint for?"
Her brown eyes pin him down. "Oh…um…it's a personal project."
Her tongue crowded her front teeth as she balanced herself on her tippy toes. "Can I help?"
"It could get you in trouble."
She shrugged her shoulders. "What's the project?"
"Um, well, I guess…just a little payback."
"Ahh, Donald and Robert. Left and Right Nut? The assholes."
Eddie nodded shyly. She eyed his materials of red paint and he even stole a bottle of syrup.
"Carrie?"
My God, hearts were flying out of his ass. She read Stephen King!
"Will you be my girlfriend?" The words tumble out of his mouth before his brain could stop him. He turned so red that would even make Rudolph jealous.
Jensen laughed.
. . .
That night, they lured Donald and Ronald into the outhouse. He wished he had a camera as the two screamed as the fake blood rained down.
Jensen also had an added touch of infesting their beds with creepy crawlies.
two.
Eddie was nervous. He didn't even know why or how he got roped into going to the annual winter Snow Ball. It didn't seem like a thing Jensen would want to do.
Yet, as it was 8th grade and his last year of middle school before moving to the Great Wonders of high school, somehow Jensen did her sorcery and got him to attend a dance with her.
His Uncle Wayne even invested in a pair of nice slacks and a button-down for him to wear. He suffered through Mrs. Mayfield and Mr. Thomas' photos of him with and without Jensen. The worst was having to be subjected to Max, Jensen's stepsister, teasing taunts.
Now, they were in the gym. He had sweaty palms as they sat at one of the tables covered with confetti. They had gotten another photo taken. Sampled the food and the punch. They mingled with the few sparse friends they had.
Eddie wouldn't call it boring as he and Jensen know how to amuse themselves. Yet, there was something about it. The atmosphere of the soft music, twinkling lights, and Jensen's pretty green dress just made his stomach turn into knots. They had done everything except one thing the whole night.
Jackson 5 was crooning in the background as he stood up from the table. He took a deep breath as he held out his hand. "Jensen, would you give me the honor of dancing with me?"
The lights made Jensen's eyes look like amber. He wanted to be a dragonfly trapped in them. Her hands felt like rose petals as she gripped them softly as he led them to the dance floor. He didn't take her to the center. He led them to a small corner trapped in their own world.
A part of him was scared. As much as he was ready for high school, he was unsure of what high school would mean for them. He was worried about what high school could do to their friendship. If they would drift into different friend groups and no longer be each other's best friend.
They swayed in a circle. Shy and soft smiles passed between them. It was nice.
"Thank you for coming, Eddie," Jensen whispered.
"Eh, luckily my schedule was open," Eddie replied. Jensen giggled.
They swayed for a few minutes before Jensen spoke again. "You look very handsome tonight," Jensen complimented. Her eyes struggled to meet his. His cheeks were warm and pink.
He cleared his throat. The tips of his ears were red. "Thank you. Your…you look beautiful."
She was the most beautiful girl in the gym, all of Hawkins - the world to him. She was his friend, though. He wondered though maybe that would be a change to come to high school. Eddie didn't believe in fairytales. He knew living in a trailer park he wasn't a Prince Charming with his own chariot. He barely had two pairs of sneakers to his name.
He knew that he wouldn't have much to offer Jensen outside of his company. He wasn't a fool to think he would be someone that would thrive on grand romantic gestures. Maybe for Jensen, he would be. He could, maybe, gift her flowers and instead of notes, maybe write her a song with his guitar.
"Thank you, Eddie."
He smiled, and he felt his palms becoming sweaty. The thought of leaving imprints on her dress scared him.
Jensen looked up at him with a small smile that hid her teeth. She had a little shimmer of green on her eyes and her lips still had remnants of the lip gloss staining her lips.
He noticed the other kids were still swaying. Some were so close that it surprised him the chaperones weren't pulling them apart and measuring the distance with rulers. He witnessed some of them bend and kiss their dates quickly.
Eddie swallowed the lump in his throat. It was quick, as he was already second-guessing himself as he bent down. His dry lips meet the warm cheek of Jensen's. Their swaying stopped as he let his lips linger. He felt as if his heart was going to explode in his chest.
He pulled back, his own cheeks hot. "Was that okay?"
Jensen nodded. "It was okay."
Eddie smiled widely. He thought maybe he could tolerate that dreaded prom if it was with Jensen. Maybe she would be his girlfriend this time.
three.
"I don't know what I'm more ashamed of at this moment," Eddie muttered to Jensen. He watched as she rolled her eyes so hard it surprised him she didn't see her brain.
"Don't be overdramatic," Jensen replied as she rubbed D20 between her fingers. They were in his bedroom as he gathered all the materials he needed for a game of Dungeons and Dragons.
High school was turning out exactly how he expected it to be. However, he and Jensen were still each other's best friends. But he had found a few more lost sheep that was into the game.
It was already formulating in his brain that maybe they could have Hawkins's very own D&D club. Make it a haven for all the other nerds out there.
In his plotting, as he worked to build the tally for membership as the school dictated a club must have seven people, he realized the person he had closest as a cleric didn't know shit about his favorite game.
He didn't know how he missed such a crucial oversight after a few years of friendship. It was a failure on his part as a friend and as an upcoming Dungeon Master.
"How in all the years we've been friends haven't you retained a word I said?" Eddie asked as he looked at his friend. Eddie had been invited for a session at Gareth's house with Jeff for a game. It was unstated that he would be bringing Jensen along.
"I don't want to look like an idiot, Edward."
Eddie scowled. He hated when she would use his full name.
"Besides, you are lucky I am devoting my precious Friday nights to you."
"Oh, and what is so important that I'm keeping you from?" Eddie asked with a raised eyebrow.
Jensen rolled onto her back, a dreamy look on her face. She sighed as she placed a hand on her heart. She licked her lips. He swore he heard cupids singing. Eddie broke out in a cold sweat. "You're keeping me from listening to Michael Jackson and Prince."
"Jesus Christ, Jen," Eddie muttered. He placed a hand on his chest and rubbed it.
"What? Look, can we just do a few short campaigns or something? I'm sure I will be a pro in no time."
Eddie snorted.
"Hey, where is my vote of confidence?" Jensen pressed. She stood with her hands on her hips. "Besides, can't we team up or something?"
"I don't know, maybe for this campaign you can be my girlfriend or something."
"Girlfriend, eh?"
Eddie's cheeks burned. He may have been harboring a deep-rooted crush for his best friend. He always liked Jensen, but ever since the Winter Ball he liked her. Sometimes the lanky kid wondered what it would feel like to kiss her full lips. "If you want?"
Jensen passed his dice over to him. Their fingers brushed against each other.
Her smile was wide. "Come on, Eddie, the husband of Belladonna Moon, we have to go kick some ass!"
four.
"You're rolling it wrong," Eddie pointed out as he watched Jensen try to roll her own joint.
Jensen looked up into his hazy eyes. "You're still going to smoke it, right?"
Eddie moved from where he was sitting on his bed and walked over to his small desk. It was a hot, sticky day in July. He was only in a pair of shorts while Jensen was in a pair of jean shorts and a white tank. It was visible she wasn't wearing a bra. Eddie stood behind her and placed his hands over her as he began to guide her.
"If you're going to be doing this, you're going to do this shit right. You're not going to be my friend rolling shitty joints." Eddie told her. She at least ground it well.
"You need to start with a crutch," he informed her. His words were hot against her ear. He showed her how to make the accordion file fold.
"Are they required?" She asked as he grabbed a filter tip.
"Depends on the user, but I don't like to burn my fingertips."
"Would make it hard to play guitar," she muttered as she watched his movements.
"Hmmm," Eddie said as he concentrated on filling the paper with weed.
"Where'd you learn this from? I know it wasn't Uncle Wayne."
Eddie had a lazy smile. "Reefer Rick."
"Reefer Rick? What kind of stupid name is that, and you never mentioned him before?" She asked hotly.
"Is that jealously I hear?" Eddie teased as he formed and shaped the joint.
"Edward!"
"Well, my dear friend, while you are working at the arcade, I have to find some way to kill my time and earn some money."
"So he's a dealer?"
"Supplier," Eddie corrected as he manipulated Jensen's fingers to pinch the paper and began rolling it back and forth to pack the weed.
"Still a stupid name," Jensen muttered.
"He's a cool dude."
"I bet," Jensen drawled.
Eddie giggled as his lips caressed the edge of her ear. "Don't worry, baby, you're still my number 1."
Jensen snorted.
Eddie brought the joint up. "Lick."
"Bossy," Jensen commented before she bent forward and licked the edge. He licked his own lips as he watched Jensen. The last thing he needed to be was horny and high.
He grabbed his pen to pack the weed down.
"See, baby, that's how you make a joint," he said as he showed off the final product.
"Baby, baby, baby, you must be high calling me all these pet names."
"Don't like it."
"Might give me a complex," Jensen teased as she took the joint. His hands moved off her, but he didn't move from her back despite the heat making them sticky.
He watched as Jensen lit the joint and took a puff. He didn't know watching someone smoke could be erotic. His eyes flickered down to her chest and watched as she exhaled the smoke. He narrowed his eyes as he noticed two hard pebbles poking from her thin shirt.
"God, you're beautiful."
"You must be high," Jensen laughed.
"Maybe, but you're still beautiful when I'm not."
"Is this where you declare your undying love for me?"
"You know you got me covered in a bowl of Jensen flavored pussy whip."
Jensen pushed him back as he cackled and fell on his bed. "Don't be gross, Eddie."
Eddie licked his lips. "I'm your willing slave, baby."
"Okay, I think that is enough weed for you. Was this shit laced or something?"
"You know, I think about it sometimes," Eddie said as he stared up at his ceiling. His hair was sticky to his skin. He thought he should ask Jensen to braid it for him. He, Jen, and Max could all rock the two French braids and be a pair of triplets.
"Think about what?"
"If you were my girlfriend," he admitted.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
five.
"How in the hell did I get roped into this shit?" Eddie muttered. He let out a pained oomph as Jensen elbowed him.
"Be nice," she whispered.
"Hey, Lucas, be warned, the Thomfields are violent women," Eddie shouted as he rubbed his ribs. It earned him a vicious glare from both Jensen and Max.
"Thomfields? What does that even stand for?" Max asked from where she turned to face him. Eddie and Jensen were chaperones for the date Max and Lucas were on. They had volunteered Eddie for his driving services as the two teenagers caught in puppy love had their date.
"Well, you two have different last names. Jensen Thomas. Max Mayfield. Combined the two, Red."
Max did her signature move of rolling her eyes. "You're such a dweeb."
"A dweeb that drove you two pubescent puppies here." Eddie wiggled his finger in her face. "You should show me some respect."
Unlike Max, Lucas didn't know Eddie that well. All he knew was that Eddie was considered the town Freak for his long hair and interest in heavy metal and D&D. He also came off as intimidating and scary, despite Max stating he was just a teddy bear. According to Max, he wouldn't even swat at a fly. Lucas thought stepping on it was more than likely.
"Sometimes I'm convinced that it's you two that are siblings," Jensen added as she eyed the two. "Can we get popcorn, please?"
Max rolled her eyes as she grabbed Lucas and dragged him to a line furthest away from them. Jensen was unsure of who was the 13-year-old when Eddie stuck his tongue out behind Max's back.
"Eddie, are you done?"
"She better not tempt me, popcorn might be a new accessory to her outfit."
"Edward Munson!"
"What?"
"You're behaving worse than our dad," Jensen pointed out as they walk to the line far away from her sister and her date. Jensen thought Max and Lucas were cute. Eddie thought Max was too young to be dating.
"What do we know about Mr. Sinclair, huh?"
"He plays D&D. He has his own party and they plan to join Hellfire. That is four new members for you."
Eddie frowned. "Max is friends with a group of boys? When did this happen?"
"They all hang out at the arcade. They were all up in a tizzy because Max beat all their high scores."
"Whoa, whoa, wait," Eddie said, interrupting. Did Lucas win some brownie points for playing D&D, maybe? But all of this was happening right under his nose, like when did Max even start liking boys? Her interests were simply skateboarding, reading comics, and pissing him off. "So you've been privy to all this and haven't told me!"
"I didn't think you care about some adolescent crushes and dating, Eddie."
"I don't, but I do care about Max's crushes and who she's dating."
Jensen rolled her eyes. She didn't reply as they were next in line. She ordered some kettle popcorn for them to share, along with a pop. Eddie swiped some candy bars as well.
"Eddie, you know I hate 3 Musketeers."
"More for me then," he quipped as he grabbed an extra pack of Reeses. He slapped her hand away as she tried to pay for their snacks. He ignored her huff of annoyance before they met Max and Lucas to head into the theater.
. . .
There was no popcorn thrown. Lucas didn't even try the slick move of yawning to put his arm around Max's shoulder. It was an innocent date for two teenagers. Eddie didn't know if he was impressed or disappointed. He was squinting at the selection of ice cream at Scoops Ahoy when he felt a presence saddled up to him. He turned to find Lucas.
He raised an eyebrow.
"Uh, Max said you run a D&D club at the high school?"
Eddie nodded his head. None of the flavors were appealing. He and Jensen were going to have to share a banana split.
"My friends and I have a party. Do you think…maybe we could play together?"
"Depends," Eddie replied. Where in the hell were the workers? He thought as he moved and tapped on the bell again.
"Depends?"
"Depends on how you treat dear ole Red," he smiled, his teeth hidden.
Lucas gulped. "So, how long have you and Jensen been together?"
"Why?"
"Just making conversation."
"Jesus Christ," Eddie muttered, and he began tapping the bell repeatedly. The chimes irritated the shit out of him and it seemed the Pavlov experiment wasn't working with the employees of Scoops.
"Alright, alright, I'm coming!" A voice shouted before emerging.
Eddie rolled his eyes as Steve "the Hair" Harrington came out. "What were you doing? Taking a shit?"
Steve glared at Lucas as he chuckled. "What are you two doing together, anyways?"
Lucas got a goofy grin on his face as he pointed to where Jensen and Max were sitting with their own smiles. Eddie rolled his eyes.
"Oh shit, you didn't tell me that the girl you liked was Jensen's sister. So what is this? A double date?" Steve inquired.
Eddie didn't like the gleam in Steve's eyes as he eyed Jensen.
"Double date?" Lucas snorted. "No, Jensen and Eddie had to be our chaperones."
"Can we order our ice cream or what?" Eddie interrupted. He was curious as to why Lucas was friends with Steve Harrington.
"Touchy, okay," Steve muttered. Eddie ordered the banana split while Lucas got a hot fudge brownie sundae for him and Max.
"So, you and Jensen official, or what?" Steve asked as he handed Eddie his banana split. Lucas had taken his dessert and rushed back to the table.
"You're asking me this why?"
Eddie was becoming annoyed by this new fascination with Jensen. Sure, the town loved calling him a Freak. Anyone who associated with him became social pariahs as well. Yet, somehow, it wasn't the same for Jensen. Sure, he heard some choice remarks, which resulted in bloody knuckles and black eyes. As much as boys could talk shit about her and her friends, they still wanted to fuck her.
If people weren't trying to make a deal with him, he found himself being approached about what his and Jensen's relationship status was.
"Just curious."
"You know what they say? Curiosity killed the cat," Eddie replied as he walked back to the table. He didn't even care that Max and Lucas moved to a different booth.
"What did he say?" She asked as he handed her a spoon.
Eddie licked his lips as he looked at her. Eddie wasn't blind or stupid. He wasn't privy to all the boys that asked her out. He saw some of the notes in her locker and overheard Max and her talking about some boy approaching them while out.
Was he surprised that someone like Steve Harrington possibly had an interest in her? Someone was willing to ask her on a date, which it scared him to do. Now here they were fucking chaperoning two teens on a date when they never even had their first one.
"Earth to Eddie."
"Has Steve ever asked you out?"
"What?"
Eddie didn't say anything as he stared at her.
"You're serious?"
"Did he?" Eddie asked. He didn't know why she was hesitant to answer. "Did he!"
"I don't really count it," Jensen revealed.
"What the hell does that mean!"
"Lower your voice!" Jensen snapped as Max, Lucas, and Steve were staring at them.
Eddie leaned back in the booth. He folded his arms across her chest as he waited for her to explain.
"As I said, I don't count it, but it was at that Halloween party last year you dragged me to, as you had to do a few deals. You were doing a deal when I came across Steve. I think he and Nancy got into a fight. He was just upset and I don't know sort of asked me out, but didn't. It was weird. I don't know…"
"And what did you say?"
"No, obviously. He was with Nancy and was just hurt by their argument, and I don't like him."
"Do you like someone?" Eddie pressed. Sure, they would mention their celebrity crushes. But when it came to the town of Hawkins, he didn't know who his friend could possibly like. If she liked anyone. It was something never brought up. She kept that close to her chest.
"Eddie, you're the only man in my life."
It felt like someone just squeezed his chest.
+1
"You need to study, Munson," Jensen ordered.
The last thing Eddie wanted to do was study. He didn't know how Jensen expected him to study when she was wearing short purple cheetah print satin shorts that showed peaks of her ass every time she bent down. Her tank was an excuse for a shirt that seemed to belong in Max's closet. She was teasing him.
"How about a break?" He suggested as he lounged back on her bed. Her bed was much more comfortable than his. Also, he liked her silk pillowcases. She said it helped with their hair as she had just bought him a couple of emerald green ones.
"Eddie, you just had a break not even two minutes ago."
He shrugged and then threw her a lecherous grin. "Maybe I need a nice incentive."
"How about your diploma being a nice incentive?"
Eddie's pointer finger tapped his chin. "You know, I was thinking more of the calisthenics variety."
Jensen snorted. "That's a very big word."
"So is something else."
Eddie pounced before Jensen had a chance to realize she was about to become captured prey.
"Eddie!"
Eddie laughed.
"So the Hawk is having a John Carpenter marathon? Me and you Friday night at 9 pm?"
"Asking me on a date now?" Jensen teased.
"I'll even buy the popcorn."
"I don't know. I think your girlfriend might get jealous, especially with how you are eyeing my ass in these shorts."
Eddie's eyes narrowed. He leaned back where Jensen was trapped under him between his legs. He pinched the space under her ass-cheeks. "Speaking of which, where in the hell did you even find these?"
"Did some shopping recently," Jensen informed him. "Thought my boyfriend might like them."
"Hmmm. They are very nice," Eddie complimented, as his hands rubbed her smooth thighs. "Would look better on the floor, though."
"Eddie, that shit was so corny."
"But I bet your panties are wet," he replied smugly.
Before Jensen could make a witty remark, his lips captured hers in a bruising kiss. This was a nice incentive and something he couldn't get enough of. He pulled back and kissed her nose, causing her to giggle.
"Eddie…we really shouldn't."
"Could go back to my place," he suggested.
Jensen gave him a kiss, and he thought he had her sold until she pulled back and pushed him away. "You really need to study, Eddie."
Eddie groaned dramatically as he flopped back onto the bed.
"Just another hour, okay? Then we can go back to your place," Jensen suggested.
"Have I told you that you are an amazing girlfriend?"
"Not enough, sweetheart," Jensen said with a wink as she straightened the papers. "And yes, to the movies on Friday."
