(Christmas Village)
Christmas, the one holiday out of the whole calendar that everyone young and old, children and adults, enjoys most of all, considered to be the best holiday ever. The one time of year where Light is strongest, rivaling the spooky, bone-chilling Darkness of Halloween. Where peace, love, and goodness truly triumphs. Many things happen during the Christmas season. Playing in the winter snow, building snowmen, making snow angels, snowball fights, sleigh-riding, riding skis, and ice skating. Then, there's the nicer parts of Christmas. Christmas carols, Christmas decorations like colorful lights, jingle bells, gingerbread houses, candy canes, ornaments for the Christmas tree, drinking hot coco and sitting by the warm fireplace to beat winter's cold chill, everything to get into the joy of the holiday spirit. But the best part about Christmas: Presents, toys and gifts. And the one person who delivers them all to the whole world in one single night: Santa Claus.
There are many wonderful tales and legends of Christmas that have been told throughout countless generations. The Nutcracker, Frosty the Snowman, the Drummer Boy, but there's one legend, besides Santa Claus, that involves the most famous Reindeer of all: Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer. And this Christmas tale is about to get even more interesting, for he and the rest of the North Pole is about to cross paths with one of the greatest heroes of all time. This is the tale of how Devon, the Legendary Keyblade Master, and Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer met each other and helped save Christmas for all the worlds. Together, they'll go down in history as legendary heroes of the holiday season.
Our story begins long ago, on a peaceful, pleasant night in the North Pole in Santa's Village. Stars shined beautifully like diamonds in the night sky, high above the white snowy hills. The buildings and houses of the village were mostly constructed with bricks and cement, while some were made from wood. Suddenly, four colorful lights, red, pink, yellow, and ice-blue flew around in the starry sky, creating a marvelous light show, which was witnessed by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus at their home as they stood out on a balcony.
Of course, we all know Santa Claus, a.k.a Kris Kringle, as a jolly fat man with a big white beard, but when not in his famous red suit, Santa wears a tan shirt with holly symbols on his sleeves, green overalls, and dark brown boots. Next to him on his left was Mrs. Claus, who wore a blue dress, glasses, and a holly scrunchie that kept her white hair together in a bun.
"Oh, my... The Sprites are putting on quite the show tonight." Mrs. Claus says
"Hm hm hm. I wonder what the occasion is." Santa chuckles
As Mrs. Claus pointed out, these four lights were actually the Sprites of the Northern Lights. They were Aurora, Sparkle, Glitter, and Twinkle, four small, fairy-like creatures who were very kind, always looking out for those that lived in the North Pole, and those who visited with purely good intentions, like the great Keyblade Wielders of yore.
Aurora had green eyes, tan skin, red lips and wore pink earrings, and red and pink winter clothing. She was more than likely the leader of the four sprites.
Sparkle had brown eyes, dark skin, red lips, and wore blue and white winter clothes.
Glitter had brown eyes, pale skin, red lips, dark brown hair, and wore purple winter clothing.
Twinkle had blue eyes, pale skin, red lips, and wore yellow winter clothes.
The Sprites fly together across the night sky high above Santa's Village with Aurora filling the air with her lovely voice as she sings a song.
Aurora:
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen...
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen.
But do you recall...
The most famous reindeer of all?
Eventually, the Sprites fly down to the village and arrive at the home of one of Santa's reindeer, Blitzen and his doe, Mitzi, flying in through an open window. A picture of Santa and Blitzen standing together with Santa's left-arm around Blitzen's neck hanged up above the fireplace of a chimney, along with ribbons and medals earned by Blitzen, but it was slightly crooked to the left. Aurora flies up to the portrait and straightens it out, then flies up to join her fellow sprites as they hide up on the wooden beams of the house. They gaze down at Blitzen and Mitzi as they welcome their newborn buck into the world.
As mentioned before, Blitzen was one of the lead flying reindeer that helped pull Santa's sleigh on Christmas Eve. He had light brown and cream fur, brown eyes, two lightning bolt-shaped markings along his muzzle, and wore a gold medal around his neck, secured by a red strap. This was the Medal of Valor, which was what all Santa's Flyers wear.
Mitzi was Blitzen's doe partner and wife. She had brown and cream fur, black tipped ears, beautiful blue eyes with black eyelashes, and a warm smile on her face.
The female doe laid down in her straw bed with her small buck, giving him two loving licks on the head while he giggles. This buck had a light brown coat of fur with white spots, black tipped ears, brown eyes, and blond hair. Blitzen stared down at the baby buck with a smile on his face and thought of a name for his son.
"How about Rudolph?" Blitzen says
"I think it's a fine name." Mitzi says
Rudolph lets out two cute squeals and his mother chuckles.
"And he thinks so, too." Mitzi says
The Sprites, who were watching the whole scene, couldn't help but admire the cute newborn buck.
"Aww." The Sprites say in unison
Blitzen continued smiling at Rudolph until he glances off at the mantle of the fireplace, staring up at a certain object. Besides the picture of him and Santa, there was another photo next to it on the right when facing it. One that was just as significant. In the photo was a full body shot of Blitzen, standing in a snowy background, and next to him was a human, a Keyblade Wielder, who was his best friend. It was Ducar, Devon's father, who stood next to the reindeer on his left with his right-hand on his waist and a smile on his face, giving a thumbs up for the picture. He had met Ducar when he first became a Keyblade Wielder and an apprentice to Master Eraqus alongside his wife, Shara, and their friends, Terra and Aqua, and the two of them had been great friends ever since. Ducar and Shara had always visited Santa's Village regularly every Christmas season with their son, and always he missed them. Mitzi saw her mate staring at the photo and she looked at him with concern.
"Blitzen? What is it?" Mitzi asks
The male reindeer let out a sigh.
"It's Ducar. It's been a long time since I saw him last Christmas. I wonder if he and Shara got my letter about Rudolph." Blitzen says
"Oh, don't worry, dear. I'm sure they did. They're probably on their way right now." Mitzi says
Then, suddenly, there was a knock, two knocks, at the door to the reindeer home. Blitzen trots over to the door and opens it with his mouth, grabbing the rope with his teeth and pulling it back. The door swings open, revealing three humans, two young adults and a small boy between them, standing at the entrance. Once he saw who it was, Blitzen's face became filled with happiness. It was the two Keyblade Wielders, Ducar and Shara, who both had smiles on their faces.
For winter clothes, Ducar wore a dark gray leather jacket with a soft, warm, grey wool interior, gray winter pants, black boots, and black snow gloves. Shara wore a light blue leather jacket, which had white wool inside to keep her warm, white winter pants, light gray boots, and white wool gloves.
"Ducar! Shara!" Blitzen exclaims
"Blitzen!" Ducar exclaims
The human wraps his arms around the reindeer's neck and embraces him in a hug, and they laughed, happy to see each other.
"Ah... I'm so glad you made it here." Blitzen says
"Hey, we wouldn't miss meeting the new baby buck for the world." Ducar says
Ducar and Shara step into the home and close the door behind them. Then, they take off their winter jackets and gloves, leaving them with just their sweaters, which were the same color, and hang them up by the door. Mitzi saw the humans as they came inside, and the lovely doe greets them upon entry with a welcoming smile on her face.
"Hello, Ducar, Shara." Mitzi greets
"Hi, Mitzi." Shara greets
"Hey." Ducar greets
After saying hello to Mitzi, Ducar looks at Blitzen infront of him.
"So, how've ya been?" Ducar asks
"Oh, just another typical day at the North Pole. How about you?" Blitzen says
"Heh. Same. We're still training with Master Eraqus, but pretty soon we'll be ready for the Mark of Mastery Exam. Then, me, Shara, Terra, and Aqua, the four of us, will become Keyblade Masters." Ducar says
"Well, I know you guys will do great. No doubt about it." Blitzen says
The reindeer soon notices that something was missing and looks around with a curious expression.
"Where's your son?" Blitzen asks
Ducar and Shara shared glances with each other, then look down, Ducar on his left, Shara on her right, at their sides.
"He's right here." Shara says
The male Keyblade Wielder takes a step over to the right, revealing a young, four-year-old boy standing behind him. It was Devon, who wore a blue-white beanie hat on his head, a grey puffy jacket with black wool on the inside, grey winter pants, and black boots. The small human child gave a big smile as he looked up at the two reindeer and waves his right-hand in greeting.
"Hi, Blitzen!" Devon greets
Blitzen looked down at the human boy and smiled, then lowered his head down to the child.
"Hello, Devon." Blitzen greets
The male reindeer gently nuzzles his head against Devon's face, causing him to giggle. On the wooden beam above them, the Sprites gazed down at the two Keyblade Wielders and their adorable son. As magical creatures, they knew all about the Keyblade, their wielders, and all the good values they stood for. More importantly, they kept their eyes on Devon, believing that he would be destined for many great things like his parents. Ducar, Shara, and Devon soon notice Rudolph as he laid with his mother in the straw bed.
"Is this the baby buck you told us about?" Ducar asks
"Yep. His name is Rudolph. He was just born today." Blitzen says
Ducar, Shara, and Devon move closer to Rudolph, and the two adults kneel down to the young buck. Rudolph held a curious expression on his face, wondering who these strange people were.
"Hey there, little guy." Ducar says
Ducar reaches out with his right-hand and gently pets Rudolph's head. The baby buck giggles ticklishly at the human's touch. Shara reaches out and pets Rudolph next with a big smile on her face.
"Oh, Mitzi. He's so adorable." Shara says
"Why, thank you, Shara." Mitzi says
Shara looks over at Devon and noticed that he still had his winter coat on.
"Devon, sweetheart, let me take your coat." Shara says
Devon nods his head and unzips his jacket. He also takes off his gloves and gives them to his mother, leaving him with his gray long-sleeved thermal and his winter pants. Shara bundles up the clothes in a ball and holds them under her left-arm, then encourages her son to pet the baby buck.
"Devon, say hello to Mitzi and Rudolph." Shara says
The human boy was a bit shy to meet Rudolph, but he received some more encouragement from his father, who patted him in the back with his left-hand.
"Go on, champ. Don't be shy." Ducar says
Devon looks up at his parents and nods his head, then slowly steps forward, while the young buck looked at him curiously. Mitzi greets the little boy as he came close to them.
"Hello, Devon. It's so nice to see you." Mitzi greets
"Hi, Mitzi." Devon greets
The female doe lowers her head down to the human child and gives him two licks on the left-cheek of his face, causing him to giggle. Mitzi looks over at Rudolph and introduces him to Devon.
"Rudolph, this is Devon. He's a human, and your new friend." Mitzi says
Rudolph sniffs the human boy curiously as he reaches out with his right-hand to pet him until his small hand came in contact with the buck's head. Devon gently rubs Rudolph, feeling his soft fur, while the young buck felt content to his touch and nuzzles his head gently on the small human's head. Devon wraps his arms around Rudolph's neck and embraces him in a warm hug.
"Mmm..." Devon sighs in content
Rudolph stares at Young Devon confused for a moment, but the love soon got through to him as he understood, and he wraps his head around the little boy, closing his eyes with a warm smile. All the adults and the Sprites couldn't help but admire the cute, tender moment.
"Awww." Everyone says
Soon, Rudolph starts to move, which causes Devon to back away slightly. Slowly and steadily, the baby buck rises up onto his feet, much to the amazement of his parents.
"Oh, Blitzen! Look!" Mitzi says
"Come to Papa, Rudolph. Come on." Blitzen says
Rudolph took two small steps forward, but then stops for a moment. His mother smiles and encourages her buck to keep going.
"Go on, Rudolph. You can do it." Mitzi says
Putting on a confident look on his face, Rudolph goes to take another step, but he loses his balance and trips, tumbling forward and rolling into a haybale across the room. Everyone gasps in shock.
"Is he alright?!" Shara asks with a worried voice
Ducar, Shara, Devon, Blitzen and Mitzi rush over to the haybale to check on Rudolph, fearing he might be hurt. But to their great relief, the young buck was okay as he emerges from the haybale unharmed, spitting out hay from his mouth and letting out a slight sneeze, which knocks off more hay from his head.
"Ahchoo!" Rudolph sneezes
The two human adults and reindeer sigh and chuckle. Then, Rudolph's nose starts to twitch, and his face contorts, feeling as though he was about to sneeze again.
"Uh... Ah... Ahhh-choo!" Rudolph sneezes
With that loud sneeze, Rudolph's nose lights up with a glowing red light, shocking his parents and the two humans.
"Bless you." Mitzi says
Rudolph looks down at his glowing nose with a curious and confused expression, while Blitzen, Mitzi, Ducar, and Shara stared in surprise and bewilderment. Devon stared at the nose and thought it was cool.
"Mommy, look! Rudolph's nose is glowing!" Devon says pointing up at Rudolph's red nose with his right-hand
"Yes. I know, sweetheart. We can see it." Shara says lowering Devon's hand with her right-hand
Blitzen became concerned as he stared at Rudolph's nose. It was very strange for a reindeer to have a nose that glows, and he was afraid that the other reindeer might make fun of his son and tease him. Ducar was just as concerned about Rudolph, but he was also perplexed. How could a reindeer like Rudolph be born with a glowing red nose? Was it some kind of deformity? Or something else entirely? Either way, it was a complete mystery.
The next day, Ducar, Shara, Blitzen, and Mitzi took a stroll through the snowy streets of Santa's Village, giving their children a tour of the peaceful settlement. The Sprites watched them not too far from atop a deer crossing sign.
"This is where we live, Rudolph. Santa's Village." Blitzen says
Rudolph and Devon gaze around at the wonderful sights around them with such amazement. To the left, they saw two male elves juggling three colorful balls. To the right, they saw three other elves hanging up ornaments and decorations on a tree as they were getting ready for Christmas. And up ahead, Ducar, Shara, Blitzen, and Mitzi were building a snowman together. The lower and middle parts of the snowman was already built, thanks to Ducar, Shara, and Mitzi, and Blitzen was rolling up another snowball to make the head. Devon smiles and runs a few feet ahead of Rudolph, but soon stops and glances back at him, beckoning him to follow with his right-hand.
"C'mon, Rudolph!" Devon says waving his hand
After saying that, the little boy runs over to the four adults. The baby buck smiles and quickly runs over to join them.
Sometime later, the three humans and three reindeer stood out among the snowy hills outside of Santa's Village, gazing around at their surroundings.
"We call this snow." Mitzi says
Rudolph kicks the white ground with his right-hind leg, sending bits of snow flying, then glances up at his mother, confused by the word.
"S... Snow?" Rudolph says
"Mmm-hmm. That's right." Mitzi says nodding her head
"Yeah, Rudolph! Snow is a lot of fun! There are snow angels, snowball fights, sled rides, and-and everything! Look!" Devon says
The small boy scoops up a handful of snow in his gloved hands and tosses them up into the air.
"He he! See? Snow. It's fun!" Devon chuckles
Rudolph smiles and jumps around, kicking snow into the air with his hind legs.
"Snow! Snow! Snow!" Rudolph exclaims happily
The small buck's nose starts to glow red as if reacting to his happiness. Rudolph continues to jump around, kicking more snow, some that flies into his father's face. Blitzen shakes the snow off his face and sighs.
"Mitzi, he's at it again." Blitzen sighs
"I don't see what the problem is." Mitzi says
"Noses are not supposed to glow." Blitzen says
"Says who?" Mitzi asks raising her left-eyebrow
Before Blitzen could talk more about Rudolph's nose, a male voice calls out to him.
"Hey, Blitzen!" The voice says
"Oh, no. Not now." Blitzen groans shaking his head
The voice belonged to Cupid, one of the other reindeer on Santa's team, who approached the group from the right with Comet and Dasher. Like Blitzen, each of them wore the Medal of Valor, being Santa's Flyers.
Cupid had dark brown fur with blond hair, a short goatee, dark circles around his eyes, and a heart-shaped mark on his forehead.
Comet had light brown and cream fur with a zig zag tuft of blond hair, a goatee, and black-tipped brown eyes.
Dasher simply had light brown and cream fur with black tipped ears with brown eyes.
Blitzen glances back at Rudolph as came up behind him, and stops him with his left-hind leg, keeping his baby buck hidden and pinned underneath him. As the three reindeer approached them, they immediately noticed Ducar standing alongside Blitzen and recognized their human friend.
"Ducar? Hey! It is you!" Cupid says
"Comet! Cupid! Dasher!" Ducar exclaims happily spreading his arms out
The Keyblade Wielder walks over to the three reindeer and places his hands around Cupid and Dasher as he hugged them. The four men chuckled, happy to see each other.
"How's it hangin', man? We haven't seen you since last year." Cupid says
"Not much. Same old, same old." Ducar says
"How's your boy doing?" Cupid asks
"Great." Ducar says
Ducar glances back over his left-shoulder and beckons his son to come over, waving his left-hand.
"Hey, Devon. Come say hi." Ducar says
Devon hastily walks over and looks up at the three reindeer.
"Hello." Devon greets waving his right-hand
Comet, Cupid, and Dasher lower their heads down to the small boy as they greet him with smiles on their faces.
"What's up, little man. You being good for your old pop?" Cupid greets
"Yep. For goodness' sake." Devon says giving a thumbs up with his right-hand and a wink with his left-eye
Ducar and the three reindeer laughed. Then, Comet, Cupid, and Dasher turned their attention to their fellow reindeer, who stood nervously.
"Hello, fellas." Blitzen says nervously
"So, Blitzen, where's the baby buck?" Cupid asks
"Uh... Well... Um... Ah..." Blitzen stammers
"Really, Blitzen? Embarrassed by your own son." Mitzi scolds quietly leaning close to her mate on his left
Blitzen sighs and releases his hold on Rudolph.
"Come on out, Rudolph." Blitzen says lifting up his left-hind leg
Rudolph moves out from under his father's leg and Mitzi lowers her head down to introduce her baby buck to his relatives.
"Rudolph, these are your uncles. Comet, Cupid, and Dasher." Mitzi introduces
"Snow." Rudolph says smiling
The five reindeer and two humans laughed. Cupid walks up to Rudolph and scratches his chest with his right-hoof.
"Coochie-coochie-coo." Cupid says
Rudolph giggles as he felt ticklish.
"Hey, isn't he the spunky one." Cupid says
Eventually, Rudolph falls over on his back and rolls around in the snow as Cupid continues to tickle him.
"Ha ha! Chip off the old buck." Cupid laughs
Suddenly, Rudolph's nose glows red again, surprising the three reindeer as Cupid steps back.
"Whoa!" Cupid says
"Wow. Look at that." Dasher says
Soon, a crowd of elves and reindeer began to gather around, murmuring amongst themselves. Many of them thought it was very strange for a young buck to have a glowing red nose. Seeing all the people gathering around and talking about his son, Blitzen tries to cover it up with a lie.
"Uh... No need to be alarmed. It's just an allergy." Blitzen says
The reindeer glances over at his doe on his right and decides to take their buck away.
"Let's take him home." Blitzen says quietly
Blitzen walks away, while Mitzi helps Rudolph onto his feet. Devon, Ducar, and Shara followed the three reindeer as they walked together.
"Ohh, I'll lock antlers with the next buck who makes a crack about my son's nose." Blitzen says
"Hey, if Rudolph was my son, I'd knock anyone into next year who says anything about him or his nose." Ducar says punching his right-hand into the palm of his other hand
"Easy, boys. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Rudolph." Shara says
"I agree with Shara. He's beautiful, not odd. And perfect the way he is." Mitzi says
"You're absolutely right." Blitzen says
Blitzen, Mitzi, and the two Keyblade Wielders watch as their children run up ahead on the road, while Blitzen starts to sing.
(What About His Nose - Starts)
Blitzen:
Look at my little guy.
Isn't he a cutie?
This bouncing baby buck of mine,
And his name is Rudy.
He's quite a strapping reindeer.
And it's very plain, dear.
He has your grace and style.
Mitzi:
But he has his daddy's smile.
Later on, Devon played with Rudolph using a white and blue ball he had in his hands. The little boy throws the ball over to the yearling, who catches it on his head and balances it.
Blitzen:
Can't wait 'til he's old enough to play in reindeer games.
Rudolph rolls the ball down his back and kicks it back with his right-hind leg, then kicks the ball up with his left-hoof, performing a small jump, though he falls flat on his stomach with his legs sprawled out.
Blitzen:
Then one day he'll pull the sleigh with Santa and the reins.
Cupid, Comet, Dasher, and a few elf and reindeer villagers join in and start to sing along.
Villagers:
Oh, but what about, what about,
What about his gleaming nose?
Mitzi:
It has a healthy shine.
Cupid:
Aha, he absolutely glows.
Villagers:
What about, what about,
What about his beaming nose?
Mitzi helps her baby buck up to his feet as they continue on to Santa's Village.
Ducar, Shara, Devon, Blitzen, Mitzi, and Rudolph visit one of the greenhouses in Santa's Village, where candy canes and other sweet treats grew on the trees planted inside. Rudolph sniffs a bunch of sunflowers as Mitzi sings next.
Mitzi:
Look at my little guy,
With his angelic grin.
So cuddly and snuggly,
He's sharper than a pin.
Rudolph turns around to his right and runs over to a candy tree, leaping up and grabbing a purple and orange candy cane with his mouth.
Mitzi:
He's such a special reindeer,
Here's a candy cane, dear.
After dangling from the tree for a few seconds, Rudolph drops onto the floor and a whole bunch of candy falls on top of him in one big pile.
Mitzi:
Don't you want to pinch his cheek?
He's exquisitely unique.
Afterwards, the three humans and reindeer were riding a train that went through Santa's Village with Blitzen singing as they stand in an open car.
Blitzen:
Our deer is so endearing,
But one thing that I'm fearing.
When we start to school him,
The kids may ridicule him.
Soon, the train stops, and the group disembarks, walking through the village as Mitzi sings next.
Mitzi:
Perhaps they'll ignore it,
Maybe learn to adore it.
He has that certain spark.
A female elf with blue eyes and blond hair, wearing a green jacket, blue hat and gloves pushes open the wooden shutters of a window on her house, singing her bit as the group passes by.
Female Elf Villager #1:
I bet that nose glows in the dark
Comet, Cupid, Dasher, and several elf and reindeer villagers block the group's path and sing their cue.
Villagers:
Put a cover on it,
Wear a lampshade upon it.
Forgive us for finding
Rudy's nose is simply blinding.
Oh, then what about, what about,
What about his gleaming nose?
Mitzi and Blitzen shared glances with each other, singing their part.
Mitzi:
It is a little pink.
Blitzen:
He'll grow out of it, I think.
Then, the villagers surrounded Rudolph and walk around him, singing.
Villagers:
What about, what about,
What about when Rudolph grows?
Will it grow any dimmer?
Or will it start to shimmer?
What about, what about,
What about his gleaming, ever beaming,
Neon shining nose?
Rudolph runs back to his parents, the two Keyblade Wielders, and their son as the song reaches its climax.
Cupid:
Yes, what about?
Villagers:
Yes, what about?
Female Elf Villager #1:
Yes, what about?
Villagers:
Yes, what about?
Yes, what about Rudolph's shiny nose?
(What About His Nose - Ends)
All the elves and reindeer laugh hysterically, pointing fingers at Rudolph. It was, at this point, that Blitzen had enough of everyone teasing his son. He scrapes the snow with his right-hoof as though he was getting ready to charge, but Ducar quickly moves infront of the reindeer to calm him down, then the Keyblade Wielder turns to the crowd, waving his right-hand away at them.
"Alright, alright. Break it up. That's enough. Show's over." Ducar says
And so, Blitzen and Mitzi walk away and take their young buck home with Ducar, Shara, and Devon following them.
Elsewhere in the North Pole, two elves named Boone and Doggle were carrying out their tasks for Santa Claus, visiting the postal office for their usual mail collection.
Boone was a tall elf who had brown eyes, light brown hair, and a pointed nose, wearing a red hat with a gold bell at the tip, green clothes, and yellow shoes.
Doggle was a short elf who had brown eyes, dark brown hair, and a short nose, wearing a red jacket, green hat with two golden bells attached, orange gloves, and yellow shoes.
They both stood at the counter of the post office, where an older elf with a white hair, brown eyes, and a white beard, wearing a purple hat, a blue jacket, and a purple belt met with them.
"Hello, Boone. Hello, Doggle." The Postal Elf greets
"Any mail today for S. Claus?" Doggle asks
"Let me check." The Postal Elf says
The elf walks over to the right-side of the room and pulls down on a lever, causing four letters to drop down from a dispenser above Boone and Doggle, who catch them in their hands. Then, a loud noise came from the dispenser and the two elves screamed as a whole heap of letters drop down on top of them.
Later on, after collecting all the mail from the post office, Boone and Doggle began their drive back to Santa's Village with Boone driving their motorized snowmobile, while Doggle sat alongside him on his right in the passenger seat.
"If we play our cards right, we'll get that promotion before you know it!" Boone says
"Do you mean we won't be picking up the mail anymore?" Doggle asks
"That's small potatoes for elves like us. We'll be promoted to the factory floor. That's where all the action is." Boone says with his eyes glancing over at Doggle on his right
"Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy!" Doggle says excitingly
Soon, the two elves came across an ice bridge that spanned over a deep chasm, which was their only route back to Santa's Village.
"Man, crossing Stormella's bridge always gives me the creeps." Doggle says nervously
"Me too." Boone says
Doggle looks over the side of the vehicle and gazes down the chasm, staring into the black, bottomless abyss. Suddenly, the snowmobile began swerving uncontrollably on the bridge.
"Hey, Boone! Slow down! You're going too fast!" Doggle exclaims in a panicked voice
"Something's wrong! I'm losing control!" Boone exclaims
Then, the snowmobile hits a pothole on the bridge, causing Boone and Doggle to scream and panic. The vehicle speeds off on the other side of the bridge and jumps over a hill, heading towards a garden where dozens of carefully crafted ice statues stood. The snowmobile crashes through the crystal rails surrounding the garden and knocks down several statues in its path, before crashing upside-down in the snow, sending the two elves and their bags of mail flying. Boone and Doggle crash head-first in the snow with their legs flailing about, but they managed to push themselves out with their feet. Once they were out, the two elves gazed upon the damage that was caused in the accident.
"Oh, no! Look at what we did to Queen Stormella's garden!" Doggle exclaims
A human-shaped statue breaks apart and falls onto the snow in pieces, causing Boone and Doggle to cringe.
"Maybe we should leave a note." Doggle says
"You numbskull! Then she'll know we're the ones who did it!" Boone says
Doggle places his right-hand on his head and notices that his hat was missing.
"Hey! My hat! Where'd it go?!" Doggle says
"Never mind that! Let's get out of here!" Boone says
And so, Boone and Doggle began their walk back to Santa's Village. But little did the elves know that not far from where they were, a witness had seen the whole accident. Standing on a tall hill was a dark cloaked figure, who radiated an evil black-red aura of darkness. This mysterious figure was none other than Lord Thanatos, right-hand of the Dark Lord of the Shadows, Makuta Teridax. The evil entity watched as the elves fled the scene with his glowing red eyes following their movements and narrowing as he had a sinister plot to destroy the most joyful, beloved holiday on the calendar that gives incredible strength to the Light: Christmas.
Back in Santa's Village, Blitzen, Mitzi, Ducar, and Shara brought their two children to a large building for the next part of their tour, standing infront of two wooden double doors, which were currently closed.
"Rudolph, Devon, welcome to Santa's Toy Factory." Blitzen says
The doors of the building swing open inwards and the small boy and buck looked around in amazement.
"Wow!" Devon says amazed
Dozens of elves stood at stationed positions along a conveyor belt that snaked around the huge room, moving toys from doll houses, stuffed animals, toy cars, trains, and planes along at a steady pace to be painted, assembled, and packaged in colorful boxes, each wrapped with colorful ribbons. The group climbed up some stairs to a balcony on the second level that overlooks the factory floor and watched the elves as they began to sing.
(Christmas Town - Begins)
Elves:
It's Christmas Town, Christmas Town,
We're up here in the North.
Making toys for you until December 24th.
We're the elves of Christmas Town,
We fill up Santa's sleigh.
Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
An elf with brown eyes, white hair, and a white beard, wearing a red hat, purple clothes, blue pants, and brown shoes noticed the group above them and tosses up a stuffed teddy bear to Blitzen, who catches it with his mouth, and give it to Rudolph, placing it down infront of him. Elsewhere in the factory, an elf holding a hammer smashes his right-thumb, missing a toy house he was supposed to put together, while a train arrives from a tunnel in another part of the factory.
Elves:
Tap tap tap the hammer,
Ring ring ring the bell.
With lots of noise and clamor,
For Santa's clientele.
Back on the factory floor, one elf dances with a doll holding roses in his mouth, while another works a marionette puppet, and a third elf, wearing a cowboy hat rides a wooden horse, which rocks back and forth.
Elves:
A talking doll that dances,
A puppet that has strings,
A rocking horse that prances,
A music box that sings.
Santa was overlooking the work himself, standing on the staircase with another one of his elves, Milo, who had brown eyes, wearing a red hat, red jacket, green pants, and brown shoes. Milo gives the jolly fat man a music box and opens it, revealing a tiny workshop inside with tiny elves working around a conveyor belt similar to the one he was in.
Elves:
Ohhhhh...
It's Christmas Town, Christmas Town,
We're up here in the North.
Making toys for you until December 24th.
In another part of the factory, elves lined up side-by-side and passed presents along to one another, putting them into a large sack in Santa's sleigh, which already had dozens of toys and presents inside.
Elves:
We're the elves of Christmas Town,
We fill up Santa's sleigh.
Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
In one of the greenhouses near the factory, a group of elves picked candy off the trees they grew on and placed them into baskets before dumping them into carrier cars on a train.
Elves:
Pick pick pick the candy,
Pack pack pack the train.
As elves we're pretty handy
With a car or boat or plane.
In the back part of the factory, dozens of Christmas presents were moved around on red loaders driven by elves, taking them from one spot to another and put into stacks.
Elves:
We've got the list and counting,
And checking every name.
And though the gifts are mounting,
No two will be the same.
In the garage next door to the factory, four elves were waxing Santa's sleigh, giving it a shine so nice that their own reflections could be seen in the red metal. Back on the factory floor, a group of elves gathered at the entrance of the building and danced as the song reached its climax.
Elves:
Oh, it's Christmas Town, Christmas Town,
We're up here in the North.
Making toys for you until December 24th.
We're the elves of Christmas Town,
We fill up Santa's sleigh.
Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
Making sure that everyone has toys on Christmas day.
(Christmas Town - Ends)
Suddenly, the doors to the factory were blown open by strong winds, blowing away the elves infront of the door and revealing two people standing at the entrance. It was the Queen Stormella, along with her penguin servant, Ridley, and her three pet wolves, each of which had grey fur, and grayish green eyes, that Stormella held by their leashes in her left-hand.
Stormella was an evil Ice Witch with powers over ice and snow, who hated Santa Claus and his elves, and despised the joyfulness of Christmas. She had white skin, blue eyes, and blue lips, wearing a dress that was white along the upper half and ice blue along the bottom, crystal earrings on her ears, and a white headdress with four ice crystals around its sides.
Ridley was a penguin who served Stormella. He had brown eyes and yellow swept hair, wearing a red butler suit, a white shirt underneath, and a green bowtie.
"Alright. Someone's in deep ice." Stormella says
Upon seeing Stormella, all the elves quickly hid away underneath the conveyor belt in the factory with the lower halves of their small bodies sticking out, while one elf squeezed himself inside a doll house, shuts the door, and switches off the lights. The Ice Queen steps forward onto the factory floor with Ridley following her, and her wolves pulling on her leash, growling menacingly. Rudolph backed away from the balcony with his teddy bear in his mouth, frightened by Stormella's wolves as they snarled menacingly. Stormella bends down to her three pets and spoke to them with a sweet, loving voice.
"Hush, hush, my lupine babies." Stormella says
After calming her wolves, the Ice Witch shifts her angry gaze to the elves.
"Which one of you warm-blooded pipsqueaks wrecked my ice garden?!" Stormella asks in a demanding voice
With her ice wand in her right-hand, Stormella shoots a purple beam at a toy processing machine, freezing it in ice.
"Well?" Stormella says
Turning to her left, the Ice Witch shoots another beam of ice towards two elves, who quickly moved out of the way. The ice beam strikes a wooden shelf, where the elves once stood, destroying the poor toys and presents that were stacked on the furniture. A brown, dark-spotted dog wind-up toy survived the attack, walking along the floor and barking, but Stormella immediately shoots a third ice beam at the annoying toy, silencing it once and for all. After dealing with the toy, Stormella blows the frost off the tip of her wand and glances down at Ridley, who complimented her skills.
"Superb aim, Madame." Ridley says snapping his right-finger
The Ice Witch walks further into the factory floor with her wolves and looks around at the elves, searching for those responsible for destroying her ice garden.
"I want names." Stormella says
Stormella approaches one elf, who had brown eyes, and curly blond hair, wearing a red hat, blue jacket and pants, and a brown belt with an oval-shaped buckle. He was shaking with fear in his brown boots as Stormella's shadow looms over him. The Ice Witch bends down, grabs the poor elf by his jacket, and holds him up off the ground close to her.
"Was it you?" Stormella asks in a menacing voice
"N-n-n-no, Your Royal Wickedness!" The elf stammers
"Put that elf down." Santa says
Santa and Mrs. Claus descend down onto the factory floor from a staircase and approached the Ice Witch.
"Stormella? What's the meaning of this?" Santa asks
"Your elves vandalized my beautiful ice garden, and I want justice!" Stormella says throwing the elf in her hand aside
"How do you know our elves were responsible?" Mrs. Claus asks
Stormella takes out Doggle's hat in her right-hand and holds it up as evidence.
"Duh! Because I found this hat at the scene of the crime. Hello?" Stormella says
Santa takes the hat from Stormella and looks down at it with concern, before looking back up at the Ice Witch with a serious expression.
"We'll get to the bottom of this." Santa says
Santa turns around to his right and addresses his elves.
"Come on out, everyone. No need to be afraid." Santa says
The elves emerged from their hiding spots, whether it was alongside the conveyor belts, or underneath them as they poked their heads out. Rudolph emerges from underneath his father. And the elf inside the doll house switches on the lights and pokes his head out of the door.
"Now, to whom does this hat belong?" Santa asks
"Be honest." Mrs. Claus says
Santa and Mrs. Claus looked around at the elves, waiting for any of them to step up. After a moment's hesitation, Boone and Doggle step forward and approach Santa. Doggle takes back his hat and places it on his head, then starts to break down and cry, dropping down on his knees and wrapping his arms around Santa's left-leg.
"Please don't let her take us, boss! We're too young to die!" Doggle sobs
"It was an accident, chief! Honest! We were driving across Stormella's bridge to deliver the mail, and we lost control and-" Boone says
"Accident? Uh-huh. Oh, yeah? I'll show you an accident. Step aside, Kringle. I'm taking these two culprits home to Ice Castle." Stormella says pointing her right-hand at the two elves, then at Santa
"I don't think so!" Ducar says
Ducar and Shara jump up into the air from the balcony, leaving Devon with Rudolph, Blitzen, and Mitzi, and drop down infront of Santa, Boone, and Doggle, summoning their Keyblades: Vanguard of Honor, and Faithful Salvation.
"You want these poor elves, you'll have to go through us." Shara says
"How dare you all obstruct justice!" Stormella says
"Whatever it is you're planning to do these two, I'd hardly call it justice." Ducar says
"I'm truly sorry for what happened to your garden, Stormella, but I stand with Shara and Ducar. I cannot allow you to take any of my elves." Santa says
"Now you listen here, old man. I am warning you. You turn them over, or I'll... I'll... I'll close my ice bridge to the public." Stormella says
The elves talked amongst themselves, mostly in panic since Stormella's ice bridge was critical for their operations.
"But Stormella, your bridge is the only way across Grand Chasm. If you close it, we'll be cut off." Santa says
"Hand them over." Stormella says pointing her right-index finger at Santa
"I... I can't." Santa says shaking his head
"Then my ice bridge is closed. And if anyone from your village dares to cross it, I will bury the North Pole in my biggest storm yet." Stormella says
The Ice Witch counts up with her fingers what she could unleash with her powers over ice and snow.
"I'm talking hail, I'm talking sleet, I'm talking snow and a wind chill factor that'll blow your thermal socks off, baby!" Stormella says with a sinister smile
"So be it." Santa sighs
"Good day, Stormella." Mrs. Claus says
Stormella gave Santa a nasty look, but she also gave one to Shara, and Ducar especially, then turns around to walk away with Ridley and her wolves, the icy wind slamming the doors of the factory as they take their leave.
"Think we'll still get that promotion?" Doggle asks with a hopeful smile
"Take it off." Boone says with an angry expression
Doggle takes off his hat and Boone whacks him in the head with his hat.
Outside, Stormella rode her blue sleigh through the snow with her three wolves pulling the vehicle, sitting behind Ridley, who was at the reins.
"Oh, Ridley, Ridley, Ridley. Now, we wait." Stormella says
"For what, Madame?" Ridley asks
"What do you mean 'For what'? Ridley, it's only a matter of time before somebody crosses my bridge. And on that day, ooh-ooh, I will blow the storm that'll put Santa out of business forever, honey!" Stormella says
The Ice Witch cackles and laughs, looking forward to the day that she will finally be able to rid herself of Santa Claus and end his joyful mission.
"Ha ha ha! Hoo, baby! See ya, Claus!" Stormella cackles
Ridley chuckled along with his mistress, though she stops him.
"What are you laughing at? Shut up and drive, penguin!" Stormella says
Stormella and Ridley continued riding their sled back to their home: Ice Castle, a large palace completely made of ice with ten spires surrounding it, stretching tall and high into the sky, standing above a black endless abyss with an ice bridge serving as the only way to and from the castle. Little did they know they were being watched from afar by a dark cloaked figure: Lord Thanatos, who stood up at the peak of a mountain with his cloak blowing in the cold, winter wind. The evil Keyblade Master watched as the Ice Witch arrives back at her castle, then his flaming red eyes narrowed deeply, for he had found the perfect pawn for his vile, sinister plot to ultimately destroy Christmas for the entire Universe once and for all. As Stormella had said, it was only a matter of time.
(One year later)
Over a year has passed since Stormella's visit to Santa's Village, and everyone made sure to stay as far away from her ice bridge to avoid risk of putting an end to Christmas. Devon returned to Santa's village with his parents and joins Rudolph as he begins Reindeer School with the other young bucks and does. Inside, the school had only one room with a chalkboard at the opposite end, and windows around the four sides.
Mrs. Prancer was the only teacher and schoolmaster at the North Pole for the Reindeer School. She had brown eyes, brown and cream fur, black-tipped ears, and wore round rim glasses.
"Good morning, deerlings." Mrs. Prancer greets
"Good morning, Mrs. Prancer." The deerlings greet in unison
"Now before we begin our lesson, deerlings, I'd like to make an announcement. We have a very special guest that will be joining our class for today. I trust that you will all give him a nice, warm welcome. Deerlings, say hello to Devon." Mrs. Prancer says
Mrs. Prancer looks down at her right at Devon as he stood alongside her with a big smile on his face, wearing just his grey thermal and his navy pants.
"Hello, Devon." The deerlings greet in unison
"Hi, everyone." Devon greets waving his right-hand
Rudolph smiled as he saw Devon, knowing well enough that he was his best friend. A few female does giggled as they glanced over at little human boy with looks of infatuation.
"Hee hee hee. He's very cute for a young human." A young doe giggles
"Yeah." Another doe says
"I would love to kiss him under the mistletoe. Tee hee hee." A third doe giggles
"Now, for you deerlings who don't know him, Devon is the son of Shara and Ducar. They are Keyblade Wielders who helps keep the world and people, including us here at the North Pole, safe from harm." Mrs. Prancer says
All the deerlings in the room were amazed to hear that Devon's parents were Keyblade Wielders.
"Wow." A young buck says
"That's so cool." A young doe says
"My dad told me that Devon's dad is very tough." Another young buck says
While most of the deerlings in the school believed Ducar to be cool and strong, one buck named Arrow thought otherwise.
Arrow was an arrogant, narcissistic buck, but was also Cupid's son, and Rudolph's cousin. He had light gold fur, brown eyes with dark circles around them.
"Heh. Betcha he's not as tough as my dad." Arrow says
"Devon, you can go next to Zoey and Rudolph." Mrs. Prancer says
"Okay!" Devon says nodding his head
Devon walks over to the deerlings and stands in between Zoey on his right and Rudolph on his left.
Zoey was a lovely doe, friendly and kindhearted to those around her. She had medium brown and cream fur, dark brown eyes, and black-tipped ears.
Zoey lowers her head down to Devon and greets him with a pleasant, warm smile.
"Hello, Devon. I'm Zoey. Nice to meet you."
"Hi, Zoey. Nice to meet you." Devon says
The young doe gives the little boy two licks on his face, which made him giggle. Arrow, who was standing next to Zoey, saw this and he growled quietly with an angry look on his face.
"Now, let's see what we've learned about reindeer history. Who can tell me how Santa picks out the Flyers for his team?" Mrs. Prancer says
Zoey raises up her right-hoof to answer the question.
"Zoey?" Mrs. Prancer says
"Once a year, Santa holds the Junior Reindeer Games." Zoey says
Rudolph sighs as he listened to Zoey speak. He had a huge crush on her and thought that she was the most beautiful reindeer in the whole world. Her brown eyes were so pretty, and her voice was so soothing and lovely, like an angel.
"It's every reindeer's chance to shine infront of Santa. And if you really impress Santa in the Games, he may ask you to be a Flyer one day for his sleigh." Zoey says
"As you know, deerlings, all Flyers wear the Medal of Valor. But who can tell me what the Medal of Valor stands for?" Mrs. Prancer says
"Courage, character, and a heart that's true!" Rudolph says
"Correct, Rudolph." Mrs. Prancer says
Rudolph smiles.
"But next time raise your hoof." Mrs. Prancer scolds pointing her left-hoof at Rudolph
A regretful expression formed on Rudolph's face and his ears drooped.
"My dad, Cupid, says that I was born to be a Flyer just like him." Arrow says
"You're out of order, Arrow!" Mrs. Prancer says turning her gaze towards him
A schoolroom buck with light brown fur, brown eyes, and blond hair, wearing glasses and a blue bowtie speaks next.
"I can be a Flyer too!" Schoolroom Buck says
Then, a schoolroom doe with brown eyes and peach-colored fur, wearing two pink bows on her head speaks up next.
"Me too!" Schoolroom Doe #1 says
"So am I!" Rudolph says
"Not with that nose." Arrow teases pointing his right-hoof at Rudolph's red nose
Another schoolroom doe, who had light brown and cream fur with black-tipped ears, brown eyes with blonde hair, and a heart-shaped mark on her forehead teases Rudolph next.
"Hey, Rudy! Try the circus instead!" Schoolroom Doe #2 teases
"Ruddy-the-Red-Nosed-Reject ain't ever gonna be a Flyer! Ha ha ha!" Arrow teases
A sad expression forms on Rudolph's face and he closes his eyes. His nose starts to glow red, reacting to his feelings. Unable to take the humiliation any longer, Rudolph runs out of the school in tears.
"Rudolph! Wait!" Devon exclaims
Devon chases after Rudolph as he leaves the school, while Zoey watches with hurt in her heart, feeling bad for the red-nosed reindeer.
"Poor Rudolph." Zoey says
After leaving reindeer school, Rudolph stops at a frozen lake and gazes down at his reflection, staring sadly his red nose. Devon eventually catches up with him and walks up to Rudolph, placing his left-hand on his right-side.
"Rudolph? Are you okay?" Devon asks concerned
"I hate being different. Why can't I have a normal nose like everybody else?" Rudolph says
The red-nosed reindeer turns and walks away. Devon looks down at his reflection in the frozen lake, then follows his four-legged friend. Rudolph walks over to a large mound of snow and an idea pops into his head. He looks up and down the nearby road, making sure no one else was around, then sticks his nose into the snow mound.
"Uh, Rudolph? What are you doing?" Devon asks
"There. Now no one can see it. I'll stay like this for my whole life. Ah-choo!" Rudolph says
"Really? You're just going to stand here forever and not move at all?" Devon asks crossing his arms, tilting his head slightly to the right, and raising his right-eyebrow
While Rudolph stood with his nose hidden in the snow, Santa comes walking down along the road from the right, wearing his red suit and hat, green wool gloves, and black boots. He notices the young boy and buck on his left and greets them as he passes by, waving his right-hand.
"Hello, Devon. Hello, young buck." Santa greets
"Hi, Santa!" Devon greets waving his right-hand
"Hello, sir." Rudolph greets
Santa immediately stops and does a double take, looking back at Rudolph. He backs up with two steps and scratches his head with his right-hand, confused as to why Rudolph's nose was in the snow.
"Lose something, son?" Santa asks
"Uh... no, sir." Rudolph says
Feeling embarrassed infront of Santa, the young buck takes a step back, pulling his nose out of the snow, though there was still some that covered his nose.
"Ah... Ah-choo!" Rudolph sneezes
Rudolph's sneeze shakes off the snow on his muzzle, revealing his glowing red nose.
"Oh, ho ho! You must be Rudolph." Santa chuckles
"How'd you guess?" Rudolph asks
Santa looks down at Rudolph and felt concerned for his well-being.
"You look mighty cold, son." Santa says
Walking up to Rudolph, Santa takes out a red scarf from his inside coat and wraps it twice around the young buck's neck.
"So, I understand you want to be a Flyer like your papa." Santa says
"You wouldn't want me on your team, sir. Not with this nose." Rudolph says looking down
"But I think your nose is grand." Santa says smiling
"But everyone laughs at me. They call me names and stuff. It hurts, Your Honor." Rudolph says looking down
"Oh, ho ho ho! We're all different on the outside. But what counts, young buck. What really counts, is what's inside our hearts. And as far as I can tell, hearts don't come any bigger than yours." Santa says
Santa pets Rudolph's head with his left-hand, causing him to smile once more. Then, the jolly fat man looks over at Devon on his right.
"Or Devon's." Santa says
Santa pets Devon's head as well, causing him to giggle. Devon and Rudolph shared glances with each other, and they both smiled as they looked up at Santa.
"Remember, Rudolph..." Santa says
(Santa's Family - Starts)
Santa:
I consider everyone
In my village,
Every elf and reindeer
Part of my family.
So listen up,
And I'll fill your cup,
With hope and harmony.
Chorus:
Do-do do-do do-do,
Do do-do do-do,
Do do-do do-do,
Do do-do do-do.
Devon, Rudolph, and Santa walk together down the road as they head back to the Christmas Village.
The young boy and buck visit one of the greenhouses with Santa, walking amongst the candy trees as they sparkled with their sweet treats.
Santa:
Everybody's a somebody
In Santa's family tree.
Everyone has a place,
In my extended family.
Afterwards, they walk along the balcony in the factory floor, watching the elves as they continued to make toys for the Christmas.
Santa:
So don't look so glum, my little reindeer chum.
Everybody counts.
In small and great amounts.
Santa and the Elves:
In small and great amounts.
Santa and Chorus:
In Santa's family!
Then, Devon, Rudolph, and Santa enter the garage, where Santa's sleigh was stationed.
Santa and Chorus:
It takes more than muscle to pull a sleigh.
Santa:
You gotta rustle up a bit of courage, pup.
The three step up and sit onto the sleigh as Santa continues to sing.
Santa and Chorus:
Put your nose to the grindstone
And apply.
Santa:
A little faith it takes
To make a reindeer fly,
And lift my sleigh up to the sky,
And I know one day you'll do it,
If you put your mind to it.
Santa places his hands around Rudolph on his left, while Devon sits on the jolly man's lap.
Santa:
Everybody's a somebody
In Santa's family tree.
Everyone has a spot,
In my extended family.
Here's the secret potion,
It takes devotion,
You have it in your heart.
You've got a great head start.
Santa and Chorus:
And that makes you a part,
Santa:
Of my extended family tree.
Consider yourself.
Chorus:
Consider yourself.
Santa and Chorus:
In Santa's family!
Chorus:
Do-do do-do do-do,
Do do-do do-do,
Do do-do do-do,
Do do-do do-do.
(Santa's Family - Ends)
"I'll see you both at the Christmas Eve Launch, Rudolph, Devon." Santa says
"You can count on it, sir!" Rudolph says
"Yeah!" Devon says excited
"Whoo-hoo!" Rudolph says
Santa chuckles as he watches the two boys leave, then goes back to prepare for his journey.
Later that night, every elf and reindeer in the village gathered around for the Christmas Eve Launch, where Santa sets off to deliver toys and presents to the world. Santa sat in his sleigh where it was stored, with his sack full of presents and toys, and his Flyers ready to go. Before taking off for his flight, Mrs. Claus walks over to her husband on his right and wishes him luck.
"Buckle up and drive safely, dear." Mrs. Claus says
Mrs. Claus gives Santa a smooch on his cheek, and the jolly fat man smiles at her, then fastens the seat belt in his sleigh. With all preparations made, Santa calls out to his reindeer.
"Roll call!" Santa says
Each of the eight reindeer shout their names in turn as they perform their roll call, starting with Dasher on the left in the back.
"Dasher!"
"Dancer!"
"Prancer!"
"Vixen!"
"Comet!"
"Cupid!"
"Donner!"
"Blitzen!"
The drawbridge door to the sleigh storage building lowers down by a crank and both Santa and his Flyers head out, meeting the loud cheers from the crowd of elves and reindeer. Ducar and Shara stood in the crowd with Mitzi as they watched Santa, Blitzen, and the other reindeer passed by. Devon was up riding his father's shoulders so he could get a better view, but Rudolph wasn't as lucky due to his height, and he was constantly jumping up and down to see the event.
"Here comes Santa." Ducar says
"Ohh, your father looks so handsome in his harness." Mitzi says
"I can't see, Mom!" Rudolph says jumping up and down
(Wonderful Christmastime - Starts)
Paul McCartney:
The mood is right.
The spirits up.
We're here tonight.
And that's enough.
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime.
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime.
Unable to see from his current position, Rudolph moves further down and runs up a pile of snow, where he could finally see Santa, his father, and the other reindeer. Eventually, the snow beneath Rudolph gives way and he sinks up to his muzzle, but the young buck shakes himself out of the snow, causing the elves and reindeer around him to laugh. Rudolph looks around and smiles embarrassingly, then he notices Zoey looking his way with a smile of her own, which really lifted up his heart. Devon runs over to the red-nosed reindeer on his left and the two friends shared happy smiles.
Paul McCartney:
The party's on.
The feeling's here.
That only comes.
This time of year.
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime.
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime.
The crowd soon chases after Santa as he and his Flyers race down along the cliff. Rudolph watches them go and was about to follow when he looks down at Devon. He knew that the young boy wouldn't be able to run fast enough on his own, so he lowers himself down and offers him a ride. A big smile forms on Devon's face and he climbs up onto Rudolph's back. Once he was onboard, the young buck takes off after the crowd with Devon hanging onto his neck.
Elsewhere along the cliff, four young reindeer and four elves stand together as part of a choir. The elves stood at the front, holding a single white candle lit in their hands, and the young does and bucks stood behind them, while a taller elf, who seemed to be the postal elf, acted as the choir conductor.
Paul McCartney:
The choir of children sing their song.
They practiced all year long.
Elf and Reindeer Choir:
Ding dong, ding dong,
Ding dong, ding dong,
Ding dong, ding dong.
(Wonderful Christmastime - Ends)
Santa and his Flyers were soon approaching the end of the cliff with their speed increasing by the second. Within moments, the sleigh was off the ground and Santa and his reindeer were in the air, climbing higher into the night sky. The cheers of the crowd were deafening by this point. Rudolph stopped up on a hill and Devon jumped down from his back, and the two of them cheered loudly.
"Whoo-hoo! Go, Pop! Go!" Rudolph cheers kicking his front legs
"Yeah! Alright, Santa!" Devon cheers jumping up and thrusting his right-hand up into the air
"Merry Christmas! Oh, ho ho ho ho! Oh, ho ho ho ho ho ho!" Santa chuckles
Rudolph stared up at Santa as he and his reindeer flew past the full moon and disappeared into the night.
"One day, Devon. One day, that's gonna be me." Rudolph says
"Yeah! That'll be so awesome!" Devon says
As he said this, an idea popped into Devon's head that he was sure Rudolph would enjoy. He smiled playfully and cleared his voice as he began speaking with a deep, announcer's voice.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we present the Medal of Valor to our newest Flyer: Rudolph!" Devon announces
Rudolph turned around and looked at Devon with a confused expression. The little boy spread his hands out to the young buck, acting like he wanted him to give a speech. Rudolph soon realized what his human friend was doing for him, and he played along. Little did he know that Zoey was nearby, watching the two of them.
"Thank you, thank you very much! I'd like to thank Devon, Shara, Ducar, and my parents for always believing in me. Oh, and Santa, too, for making everything possible. But most of all, I'd like to thank the doe of my dreams: Zoey." Rudolph says
Zoey giggles in amusement. Devon and Rudolph soon noticed the young doe nearby on their right and were both surprised to see her.
"Zoey!" Devon exclaims in surprise
"Oh, my gosh!" Rudolph exclaims in surprise
A big, embarrassed smile formed on Rudolph's face and his nose glows red. He blushes and looks away.
"Don't be so embarrassed." Zoey says walking up to Rudolph
"I didn't even know you were there." Rudolph says
"I liked your acceptance speech." Zoey says
"You did?" Rudolph says surprised
"Well, it was really my idea." Devon says
"That was very thoughtful of you, Devon." Zoey says
"Yeah. Thanks." Rudolph says smiling
Devon blushed, feeling embarrassed himself.
"Would you two like to take a walk?" Zoey asks
Devon and Rudolph shared glances with each other and they gladly followed Zoey down the hill. They walk across the snow towards a bridge with a tall candy cane archway with two candy canes turned towards each other and stop underneath it.
"I'd like to be your friend, Rudolph. And Devon's friend, too." Zoey says
"Really? You mean you don't mind being seen with me?" Rudolph says
"You think I care about what the other reindeer think?" Zoey asks
"But what about my... you know?" Rudolph asks looking down at his glowing nose
"I don't think your nose is funny at all." Zoey says
"You don't?" Rudolph says surprised
"It's unique. Just like you and Devon." Zoey says
"Gosh. I never knew I was unique." Rudolph says
Zoey looks up and she saw a mistletoe hanging in-between the two candy canes.
"Look! We're under the mistletoe. You know what that means?" Zoey says
The young doe looks at the red-nosed reindeer with a loving expression and leans closer to him.
"You're supposed to kiss me." Zoey whispers
Devon looks back and forth at Rudolph and Zoey and he instantly knew what was happening.
"Okay. I'll stay out of this one." Devon says holding up his hands and backing away
"It's okay, Devon. I wouldn't mind giving you a kiss, too." Zoey says
Romantic music starts to play as Zoey steps closer to Rudolph and turns her head to the left for him to kiss her on the cheek, while he slowly leans towards her with his lips puckered up. But just as Rudolph was about to kiss Zoey's cheek, a male voice speaks out.
"Hey! What's going on?!" The voice yells
A record scratch kicks in, Rudolph and Zoey's eyes widened, and they immediately moved away from each other. The two reindeer and small boy looked behind them and they saw Arrow with an angry expression on his face, growling and scraping the snow with his right-hoof.
"Uh-oh..." Devon says
Arrow walks over to the trio as Zoey tries to explain to her boyfriend.
"We were just talking, Arrow." Zoey says
"Looked more like kissing to me." Arrow says
"There's no reason to be jealous. We're just friends." Zoey says
"Jealous? Of Ruddy-the-Red-Nosed-Reject? Don't make me laugh. And don't even get me started with the little human boy. I heard what you said about kissing him, too. Like he's even old enough to understand that." Arrow says
Devon and Rudolph both held angry expressions on their faces, but Zoey spoke up in their defense, causing them to calm down.
"Rudolph's not a reject! And leave Devon alone! He's still a kid!" Zoey says
"Whatever. C'mon, let's go." Arrow scoffs
Arrow walks off onto the bridge. Zoey was a bit hesitant at first, but realized she had no choice.
"I gotta go, boys. Bye." Zoey says
Zoey follows her boyfriend and walks alongside him on his right. Arrow glances back at Rudolph and Devon over his right-shoulder and laughs at them.
"Ha ha ha ha ha! Losers!" Arrow laughs
Rudolph kept his gaze on Zoey, hoping that she would look back at him as an indication that she liked him.
"Look back. C'mon. Look back." Rudolph says
After ten seconds of nothing, Rudolph groans in defeat and his ears drooped. Devon looks up at his red-nosed friend and felt bad for him. However, he looks ahead and his eyes widened.
"Wait, Rudolph! Look!" Devon says pointing ahead with his right-index finger
Rudolph lifts his head up and saw Zoey looking back at him with a smile for a second before continuing to walk with Arrow.
"She likes me! She likes me!" Rudolph exclaims
Rudolph jumps up and down, kicking his legs with excitement.
"Whoo-hoo!" Rudolph says
Devon smiled as he felt happy for Rudolph. The young boy and buck soon heard crunching footsteps in the snow behind them, and they saw Shara and Ducar approaching them.
"Come on, Devon! Time to go home!" Shara calls
"Okay!" Devon says
Devon runs towards his parents but stops short and looks back at Rudolph on his right. Saddened about leaving him, the little boy runs back over to the red-nosed reindeer and wraps his arms around his left-leg, giving him a hug.
"You're my best friend, Rudolph." Devon says
Rudolph looks down at the small boy with a smile on his face and wraps his head around him, hugging him back.
"Aww... And you're my best friend too, Devon." Rudolph says
Soon, the little boy and young buck pulled away and stared at one another for a while before Devon runs back over to his parents, taking hold of his mother's hand. As they walked away, Devon turns and says good-bye to his reindeer friend.
"Bye, Rudolph! Merry Christmas!" Devon says waving his left-hand
"Merry Christmas!" Rudolph says
Ducar and Shara soon stopped and pressed the buttons on their pieces of armor, causing golden and indigo light to shine on their bodies. When the light dies down, they were both now in their Keyblade Armor. Rudolph stares in amazement. Ducar and Shara summon their Keyblades and hold them with both hands, then raise them straight up, shooting blue beams of light into the sky and opening portals to the Ocean Between. Then, they throw their Keyblades into the air and the weapons transform into their Keyblade Gliders, which descend and touch down infront of them. Shara and Ducar mount their gliders with Devon riding with his mother, and the family takes off into the air. They loop around and look down at Rudolph as they pass by overhead, then they fly upwards, heading straight for the portal. The red-nosed reindeer watched with a happy smile on his face as Devon, Shara, and Ducar disappeared into the blue portal, hoping to see them someday again in the future.
Unfortunately, that was the last time Rudolph and everyone else in the North Pole had ever seen Devon or his parents again. Only a few months later, their destinies, as well as their friends, Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, would change forever. Teridax, the Dark Lord of the Shadows, and his servants: Lord Thanatos, Master Xehanort, and Vanitas had secretly begun their attack on the Realm of Light, sending forth the Unversed across the worlds, while the five Keyblade Wielders ventured out to stop the evil creatures and the masters who commanded them. The conflict soon brought them to the Keyblade Graveyard, and on that fated land, everything changed. A great battle ensured in which Shara, Ducar, Terra, Ventus, and Aqua faced off against Lord Thanatos, Master Xehanort, and Vanitas in an epic showdown of Light vs Darkness. It was there that Lord Thanatos and Xehanort attempted to forge the X-blade and seize control over Kingdom Hearts, using Devon as a kidnapped hostage. But in the end, our five heroes managed to thwart their plans. However, their victory did not come without price. Terra became possessed by Xehanort, turning him into Terra-Xehanort. Ventus' heart was lost after his clash with Vanitas and he fell into a comatose sleep. Aqua fell into the Realm of Darkness after sacrificing herself to save Terra. Ducar was taken and turned into Lord Drazor, the Dark Knight. And sometime later, Shara was murdered by her own husband following the invasion and complete destruction of the Celestial Realm, while Devon had vanished into the cosmic reaches of the Universe without a single trace to his existence. The poor child had lost everything. His home. His friends. And above all, his entire family.
The horrifying news reached the Sprites of the Northern Lights, and they informed Santa and Mrs. Claus at their home. Santa slowly fell back onto his red chair, his face full of shock. He soon leans on the arm of his chair and holds his head with his right-hand as a saddened expression fills his face. Mrs. Claus stood by her husband and hugged him, wrapping her left-arm around him and placing her right-hand on his shoulder as she did her best to console him.
It was no better at Rudolph's home as the young buck and his parents were devastated by the horrific tragedy. A heartbroken Rudolph laid in his straw bed with streams of tears running down his face. Blitzen and Mitzi laid down with their son and tried to comfort him as best as they could, fighting their own sadness in their heavy hearts.
Knowing that they all had an obligation to maintain the good, joyful, cheerful spirit of Christmas, everyone in the North Pole took an entire day out of their Christmas schedule to grieve for the loss of the two Keyblade Wielders and their son who had touched their hearts, then returned to work on preparing for that most wonderful time of year. However, little did anyone know of the evil that was lurking around in their world, waiting for the opportune moment to strike. Yet despite the growing darkness, the light of hope still remained. The small boy, who disappeared so long ago, has grown up and evolved into one of the greatest heroes of all time as a Guardian of Light. And now, he's about to join his red-nosed reindeer friend on an adventure that would not only determine the fate of Christmas Village and its people, but the entire holiday of Christmas itself.
Author's Note: And here's a new special Christmas story in which Devon, the Legendary Keyblade Master, meets Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Just to clarify, this is not the 1964 version by Rankin/Bass, but rather the 1998 film made by GoodTimes Entertainment. I was planning on creating this story for last Christmas, but I was too caught up in my work for Kingdom Hearts: Paths of Destiny, so I hope you guys will all enjoy. And a few things I'd like to address: Devon is still 16 years old, and he will age normally. No, he does not get aged up to be 21 years old, and the Inheritor does not share his power with Devon. Those original ideas are scrapped, gone, trashed, erased. So, having cleared that up, let me know what you guys think. No flames please. Hope you guys like and don't forget to review!
