Just as Ellie was about to sit next to her, a rat quickly crawled near her legs, bypassing her, which freaked her out and wanted to stamp on it, but missed as it was too fast. "GODDAMN FUCKING RAT!"

Deng shook his head as if it was useless. "Don't waste your damned energy, Ellie. You know we've tried for months to get that damn rat out of the place, but nothing worked."

Yin raised an eyebrow as the rat crawled quickly on top of a closet and was eating some food.

"Yeah. Traps, beer bottles." Selena said while lighting up another cigarette. "Damn, even Ethan once tried to shoot the damn rat, but missed every time." While she pointed at the many bullet holes on the walls next to the closet where the rat was eating its little snack.

Ethan glared at the rat. "I would've gotten the damn rat if at least I had a shotgun."

Selena shook her head. "If you did that, you would've made the place look even worse. No. We agreed to not wasting any bullets on fucking rodent. Bullets aren't cheap, you know." Before she inhaled the smoke from her cigarette and blew it out of her mouth.

Yin then began to smirk. "Maybe I can try to put that freaking rat out of its misery."

All the goths glanced at Yin. "And how are you going to do that?" Rose wandered before she chuckled "If you're using your fists, that would be impressive."

Yin shook her head. "Oh no, I wasn't talking about fighting it," she took out her 45 caliber gun and smirked. "I'll show you how I can shoot it with just 1 shot."

The others watched as Yin began to focus hard on the rat. The rat itself saw Yin was glancing at him and climbed from the closet fast began to move pretty fast across the barrack as Selena crossed her arms and warned Yin. "Hey, Yin, if you keep missing the damn rat and make more holes in the walls, you're paying for the repairs-"

BANG! With one fast move, Yin shot at the rat, instantly killing it!

The others looked with surprise that Yin was able to kill the rodent in which they'd failed for months. "No... fucking way!" Nang said with a mixture of shock and being impressed.

"Did you see how fast Yin was moving that gun, baby?!" Ellie told her girlfriend. Rose only gave a nod.

Selena walked over to Yin, who put her gun back in her pocket, patting her back. "Well, would you look at that? You're a natural when it comes to guns, Yin."

Yin gave a shrug. "I learned it from the best."

"Really? Who taught you to shoot like that?" Selena wondered.

Yin crossed her arms with pride. "From the 2 best gunslingers of Roanapur: Two Hands and Soldier Girl."

That took everyone by surprise. Even Selena had not expected that. "Seriously?!" Dang asked her.

Yin nodded. "Uh-huh. They're both the best mentors and best sisters I could've ever wished for and it even became better for me when I started working alongside them."

"Wait..." Selena asked. "You work for Lagoon Company?"

Yin nodded again. "Yeah. I practically live with them. Ever since my parents were murdered, I've been with them ever since. So, in exchange for doing a couple of chores and help with some jobs that we receive, I'm allowed to stay with them as long as I want."

Selena chuckled and put her arm around Yin's shoulder. "Well, well, well. We have a girl from Lagoon Company in our midst."

Yin smiled at Selena. And upon seeing her, Yin felt... warm inside, feeling alright to be around Selena. 'She's so... pretty and cool. For some reason, I really want to get to know her better.' Yin mentally thought.

During the rest of the afternoon, Yin showed her new goth/punk friends how great she was when using a gun, showing them how fast she could shoot beer bottles from a far distance, even showing Ethan how to properly use his gun next time.

Yin also showed her fighting skills as she demonstrated by using a punching bag that was inside the goth group's place. Though they were impressed, Selena showed her own fighting skills by punching and kicking the punch bag using her own fighting style, which was some kind of a mixture of Taekwondo and Karate, which held Yin's interest.

After Selena was done with her presentation of her fighting skills, Yin said while following Selena to a seperate room where she took a towel to dry the sweat from her face. "Those were really cool moves, Selena. Where did you learn that?"

Selena chuckled while she dried the sweat from her chest and armpits. "Learned them myself while surviving on the streets of Roanapur." But as she raised her shirt up, exposing her breasts to clean the sweat from there too, Yin blushed when seeing Selena's breasts and glanced away for a moment. Selena however noticed Yin's embarrassed expression, which amused her and asked. "What? Never seen another girl's tits before?"

Selena then wondered and asked. "Wanna see something even more cool?"

Before Yin nodded and Selena gestured to her to follow her, with the other goth/punk friends coming too.

They went into an old building, which was a former hotel and is now used by homeless and junkies, where the group and Yin went to the roof, where they enjoyed the view. Yin was amazed how much she could see from the city. "Damn. This view is…amazing. You can see almost all the city from here."

"We come here almost every night. It's our little spot where we clear our heads. Get away from everything and everyone else in this hell of a city." Rose explained while holding her girlfriend close to her.

"We found it 2 years ago after it was abandoned and ever since then, no 1 ever comes here but us." Ethan added.

"It's a good place." Yin said honestly.

"Thanks." Ellie said with a smile.

They stayed silent for a few minutes while watching the city until they decided to walk around and show Yin their turf of the city, which was a bit of a run down neighborhood, but still halfway decent enough to live in.

But as Selena looked down the street, she saw a 40 year old prostitute that was talking with another customer, which angered her. "Fucking bitch!"

As Yin saw who Selena was looking at, she asked. "You know her?

Selena then revealed. "That bitch of a woman's my…my mother!"

Yin knew from the way she said it that there was bad blood between them. "Maybe, if you wanna talk about it, we could do it at your place and not around her?"

Selena understood that and they all went back to their home with Yin. And when they got comfortable, she asked Yin. "You sure you wanna know about our pasts? 'Cause my friends and I have a rule: whoever wants to be friends with our group, in or out, must be open and honest. No lies or half truths. Otherwise that's someone who you can't trust."

"Yeah. Once we reveal everything to you about us, Yin, you have to tell us everything about you if we're all gonna trust each other." Ethan added after his friend, with the others nodding in agreement.

Yin thought about this for a few minutes and while she didn't want to reveal her recent tragedy just yet, as it was still fresh in her mind, she knew that only by talking about it and getting it out of her instead of locking it up inside would be a much better way to move forward with her life. And so, with a nod, she gave her answer. "I understand. Once you guys tell me about your pasts, I'll tell you all about mine, honestly and clearly. You have my word."

"Then we're all agreed." Selena said with a small smile before getting out a cigarette and lighting it up, taking a drag before blowing out the smoke. "Well, here goes: I'm a European girl, but I was born in Roanapur. My bitch mom was, and still is, a prostitute from Belarus, and because of that, I never knew who my father since my mother was fucking so many 'costumers' over the years and got accidentally pregnant with me as a result." She began before taking 2 drags from her cigarette and inhaling before blowing out the smoke from her nose. "But, to my so-called mom, I was nothing more than just an accident. The whoring bitch barely took care of me, not seeing me as her daughter at all. Just a fuckin' accident during her so-called work! But despite that, I became smart enough to manage to survive on my own in Roanapur, being a tough girl and not letting myself be walked all over by anyone, especially by men. But, having a prostitute bitch mother that never really loved me, resulting in me having a rough childhood, put me through depression for most of my time, eventually forcing me to cope by heavy drinking, and obviously smoking too." She said with sadness while looking at her cigarette, taking a drag and blowing out the smoke. "But despite everything, I was determined to be better than my bitch mother. So I helped out good people here whenever I could, and over my 1st few years, picked up hobbies of listening to goth or hard rock music, or trying to keep in shape by doing fighting exercises or any kind of exercise really. And I can really lose my temper if someone mocks me for what my mother is. And eventually, I found these guys, who all had fucked up childhoods like mine or similar, and who developed some of my good hoobies and 1 of 2 of my most bad ones." She finished before putting out her cigarette in the ashtray. "In time, they became my family and we've been a group ever since."

Yin was very sad to hear about her new friend's past, finding it to be similar to hers. She held Selena's hand and said. "I'm sorry about what your bitch Mom does to you, Selena. I really am."

"Thanks, Yin." Selena said with a smile.

Deng, Ethan, Ellie and Rose then told Yin their backstories to Yin, with Deng, 17-years old and was from Thai, with both parents being full Thai and from Roanapur. They lived a simple life, trying to stay away from any gang members and at least get by…until his parents ended up getting desperate for money to support themselves and their son, but eventually, they couldn't pay despite trying everything they could think of. And so, when he was 7, his parents were killed, leaving him alone and out on the streets. But a year later, despite wanting revenge, he found out that Hotel Moscow had killed them when they attempted to rob them of 8 million dollars, making his job of revenge a lot easier. But, after learning the skills he needed to survive on the streets, he met Selena and they found the abandoned building and turned it into a decent enough home for themselves, with Selena being the smartest of the 2 to keep the home running and he provided food and supplies for them.

Ethan, being a 15-year Chinese-American, was orphaned when he was just 2 years old. And after that, he spent the next 12 years in an orphanage in Roanapur but ran away when he got sick of the staff there, who barely took care of the children there and only did it for the money they made off the tiring work they made all the kids do, meeting Selena and Deng a few years later, and was their resident tech and computer genius and provided bill-free independent electricity and internet for the home.

And finally, Ellie and Rose told their story while Rose smoked a cigarette and Ellie drank some whiskey, telling Yin that both of them were from Rohanapur and were orphaned by Italian gangsters because of a debt at 6 years old, surviving on the streets with only each other, eventually becoming close and becoming lovers, finding some friends a few years later, who were Selena, Deng and Ethan and became part of their home, with Ellie becoming the pro cook and knife girl, being able to use knives and machetes with great uses, while Rose did her part by providing weapons for the group, guns and blades, to defend themselves, while doing the laundry while Ellie did the dishes, also being able to provide ammo for the guns they had, while keeping any interested parties away from them and their home.

Yin was amazed at how far this group of friends had come together and built a life for themselves all on their own without any help. She felt like she could really relate to them in a lot of ways, as her past was somewhat similar to theirs, but with more than a few differences.

"So, now that we've all told you about our pasts, it's your turn now, Yin." Selena said with a small smile. But she saw that Yin was very, very reluctant to do so by the painful look on her face. So, she picked up her pack and offered her a cigarette. "Here. Maybe it'll help you relax enough to tell us.

Yin eyed the open pack and even though she knew it was unhealthy, her nerves were going crazy from remembering the tragic event that led her to where she was now. And if she was going to have any hope of moving forward with her life, she'd have to open up and let it out. So, with a shrug, she made her decision. "Fuck it." She said before taking the cigarette and putting it in her mouth before Selena lit up for her and she took her 1st drag. She coughed out the smoke but Selena gently patted her back. But after waiting a few minutes, she took another drag before blowing out the smoke, finding it a bit easier this time. "Shit. I know smoking is very bad for your lungs, but…I do admit that…they are very relaxing."

"Yeah, it is unhealthy, but with some people who go through very stressful lives, like us, we need something to help us cope." Rose said with a small smile. "Some by smoking, some by drinking, and others by doing shit like snorting up or shooting up that cocaine or heroin shit."

"We just chose the more legal of the bad habits. And the fact that alcohol and cigarettes won't be missed all that much like that shit since they can easily be bought from almost anywhere." Ethan added.

"Well, since you're relaxed now, do you think you can tell us about your past now, Yin?" Deng asked.

"Yeah, I think I can." Yin answered before taking a drag from her cigarette and blowing out the smoke before beginning her tale. "Well, my parents met at my home country of China, but after speaking against the local Communist Party, they had to escape before they were captured, which they did. But it wasn't the way they planned. The smuggler scammed them and dumped them here in Roanapur, taking all their money. My mom was 7 months pregnant with me at the time, so…they did the best they could to survive in this hellhole and raise me. My mom, Xiao eventually got a housekeeping job, which helped us somewhat, but my dad, Chen…he eventually fell into debt with the leader of the Colombian cartel, Abrego." She said with anger at the mention of her parents' killer's name, taking another drag from her cigarette and blowing out the smoke. "While that was going on, when I was 12, I was getting beaten and almost raped by a child molester. And he damn near came close…until Revy, Aka Two Hands stopped him. And after getting me home, while also giving me this coat, I was so inspired by her that I wanted to be a lawful gunslinger, like what she eventually became after meeting Laura, Aka Soldier Girl. So, for the next few weeks, I started practicing using guns, which drew Revy and Laura to me and after explaining everything, they offered to train me to fight and shoot guns like them, which sharpened my skills at a very fast rate and I even stood up for people against bullies. But after some time, my Mom had a talk with my teachers, asking them to stop training me because she was afraid I was being consumed by the darkness of this hellhole. They reluctantly accepted and told me, which made me angry at them and my Mom. I ran away from home for a few hours but…when I came back, Abrego and his thugs…killed both my parents." Yin said as tears came out of her eyes, while Selena and her group of friends were looking sadly at hearing Yin's story. She took another drag from her cigarette and blew out the smoke before continuing. "After I ran to the Lagoon company, I told them everything and after I did, I vowed to kill the 1 who killed my parents. And eventually, I did, despite Dutch convincing me to let him go. I tried to spare him because I realized, with some help from Dutch, that my mom was right all along about the darkness of Roanapur consuming me. But he pulled a spare gun out and tried to kill us both, but I quickly shot him 1st, saving Dutch and myself. And…I've been living with the Lagoon company ever since and working with them. And so, here I am now." She finished before putting out her cigarette in the ashtray, seeing that Selena had hugged her in comfort, which Yin appreciated.

"It's okay, Yin. You're not alone. You have the Lagoon company. And…you have us now too." Selena said softly, making the others nod in agreement.

Yin returned the hug with a smile, as she knew that Selena was right. And telling her new friends about her past really did help her a lot. She felt like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. But as she checked the time, seeing it was already 5:05 PM, she quickly got up. "Fuck! I'm running late! I gotta get back home right now or Dutch is gonna kill me!" But she assured her new friends. "Don't worry, guys, I'll meet up with you whenever I can. Promise."

But before she left, Selena stopped her. "Hey, Yin, wait right quick!" She said before getting a pin and paper, writing down her phone number and giving it to Yin. "So we can keep in touch." She said before going to the nearby dresser and getting out 3 objects and giving them to her, revealing them to be 2 packs of cigarettes and a lighter. "And in case you wanna start smoking more."

Yin, after some seconds, took the packs and lighter and put them in her pocket. "Thanks, Selena. I'll see you guys later!" She called out before leaving the home and heading back to the Lagoon apartment. And after some time, she came inside and called out. "Dutch! Benny, I'm home!"

Dutch looked at her and asked. "Where were you, Yin? It's 6:00 pm."

"Yeah, sorry about that. I was hanging out with some new friends I made today and lost track of time." Yin explained.

Dutch understood that, as Revy and Laura thought that Yin could use some friends. "All right. As long as they ain't nobody bad, I suppose you can hang out with these new friends. But only this time. Don't come back late again, or you're on cleaning duty for a week. Understand?"

"Gotcha, Dutch." Yin answered with a smile before heading to her room.

But on the way, she saw Benny video chatting with Jane, with both saying sweet things to each other. "I really do miss you, sweetie. I hope you come by soon."

"Hahahahaha. Don't worry, my cute Benny-boy, I'll be showing up really soon, and when I do, it's gonna be just you and me on our 1st date!" Jane said with a seductive tone, which made Yin look a bit disgusted before she went into the kitchen, ate her dinner and got into her room, closing the door.

After watching a movie and playing a little bit of Mortal Kombat, she looked at her 2 packs of cigarettes and her lighter before she took 1 of them, opened the window and pulled 1 out before lighting it up, taking a drag and blowing out the smoke with a smile. "Fuck. Despite me protesting my Mom against smoking, who knew I'd end up doing it myself." She said, looking at her cigarette while thinking about her new friends, especially Selena and their little…moment at her home. "Those guys sure were great to hang with, especially Selena." Before she then put her cigarette between her lips, taking a drag and inhaling before blowing out the smoke from her nose. "I know Revy, Laura and the others are gonna find out that I've started smoking sooner or later. But I'll just tell them the entire truth and I'll even introduce them to my friends when they're ready for it. And…I'm gonna have to quit someday, but until then, despite me being a hypocrite for taking up this habit in the 1st place, I'll smoke only a bit, and try not to do it as much as Revy and Laura do." She said before she smoked the rest of her cigarette in silence before stuffing it out and flicking it out of the window before going to bed. "Still, I hope I see Selena and the others soon. I'm really starting to like all of them, especially Selena."

2 days later, back in Japan

On the sandy beaches of Kagoshima, with the sun shining bright, Balalaika, who was wearing a bikini, was laying down on a beach chair, sunbathing. Ever since she decided to stay a bit longer to be with Mei, Balalaika, but going by her real name for now, Sofiya, had never before felt so... happy and peaceful before in her life. All the thoughts of thinking of how to wipe out her enemies in Roanapur, controlling all her businesses and all the power she dreamed of to show who was truly in charge... they were all gone, as Sofiya felt she was actually living a normal life, away from all the stress of ruling Hotel Moscow.

"Fucking A right!" Revy and Laura both said, and both took off their swimwear, followed by Akari till all were now naked and tossed their swimwear away, enjoying their nude swimming and playing in the water even more.

Meanwhile, back in Roanapur, at Hotel Moscow headquarters

Boris was inside Balalaika's office, trying to call to her hotel room in Kagoshima. But still, the phone wouldn't answer. The male hotel receptionist came back on the phone, saying. "I am very sorry, my good sir. But like I told you, Miss Pavlovna hasn't checked in back in the hotel."

Frustrated, Boris was this close to hanging up the phone, but instead asked. "Well... could you connect me to the other room?! Room 602?!" Clearly Boris wanted to be connected by any of the other Hotel Moscow members that went together with their leader, and their 5 fellow female comrades to join the porn studio in Kagoshima.

Politely, the receptionist said. "Of course! One moment, please."

After a few seconds, the phone was picked up. "Da?" The guy on the phone asked.

"Comrade Lebedev, where is our Kapitan? I need to speak to her immediately." Boris said, as it was important to speak with their leader.

Lebedev explained on the phone. "I... I'm sorry, comrade Sergeant, but the Kapitan hasn't returned yet."

This surprised Boris. "Not returned yet? What do you mean she hasn't returned to the hotel yet?"

"I don't know, comrade. All we know is that she told us a few days ago that making the deal with Mei Ogawa was going to take a bit more time. I called comrade Natasha and she confirmed that the Kapitan is spending some more time with Mei Ogawa to 'convince' her to reconsider. But that's all I know." Lebedev stated.

Boris began to think that this is very strange, as normally Balalaika always makes a business deal within a couple of hours and sometimes within a half day, but never before it took a few more days to make such an easy deal. Boris then sighed and told Lebedev. "Well, if you or our other comrades manage to contact the Kapitan, tell her that I need to talk to her about the current situation in Roanapur."

"Understood, comrade Sergeant. I will." Lebedev ensured.

Boris hung up the phone and then called another Hotel Moscow member at a different location. "Yes, it's me. The Kapitan is still unavailable and cannot give permission to go. So for the time being, the operation against the Chinese pirates in sector 9 is postponed till further notice."

"Understood." The Hotel Moscow member said in Russian.

Boris hung up the phone, beginning to get frustrated for some reason. "That business deal with that Japanese porn studio better be worth something to take this long to make a deal with."

That night, in downtown Kagoshima

Inside a lesbian nightclub, where loud music was being played, many people were enjoying themselves with either dancing, drinking or talking. "What do you mean, Natasha?" Misty asked confusedly. "Our mistress is in love with Miss Balalaika and she's in love with her as well. What's there to be worried about?" Before she sighed while forming a sweet smile. "I think both of them are lucky to have each other."

But Natasha said with a bit of a serious face. "They may be, Misty... but back at Hotel Moscow, we comrades have sworn an oath the day we decided to follow our Kapitan and return to active duty, even if it meant becoming part of Russian organized crime."

Misty still looked confused, not understanding it all before Kira then explained. "It's like this; after we were disposed and betrayed by the people we once called our leaders and the Soviet Union fell apart, we'd sworn that we would keep fighting for what we were trained for, even it it meant with taking measures into our own hands, fighting our own war on our enemies." Kira remembered that day very well when in 1992, during the funeral of one of their former second-in-command, Menshov, who led them together with Balalaika in the Afghan-war, who lost his life... for dirty money.

Flashback, Summer of 1992, Moscow, Russia

Balalaika was watching the TV, watching the Olympics, with most of her comrades, including the younger Tamara, Natasha, Katerina, Darya and Kira, there in the room with her, seeing someone from the USA winning a gold medal for his sniper skills, a medal that would have been hers, had time and circumstance made her something else than what she planned for her life. But, because of her superiors betraying her and her entire unit, there was absolutely no chance of being anything else now, believing she'd lost everything in the war and because of this poverty they were all now living in.

"And what would you have me do about it?" She asked with a depressed tone after muting the TV.

"Kapitan." 1 of her male comrades called her.

But Balalaika wasn't in a listening mood, as she felt like she had nothing left to live for, having given everything she ever had, even her life, for the Soviet Union, only to get betrayed in the end and disposed of like garbage. "All of us have been stripped of our military ranks. So I'm no longer a Kapitan. It's all over. You aren't in my company anymore. The country we gave our lives for. The Soviet Union no longer exists in this world."

"Regardless of where we were, as long as we were fighting under you, the path would always be open. We all believed that, even with this shameful poverty." He tried to reason with her.
