The more Andy told of what happened, the closer Wally managed to hug me. I doubted he was even aware he was doing it.

I glanced over at Barry and was surprised to see him almost shaking with anger. Why? Was it because I was Wally's friend? I couldn't imagine why he would care for me personally, as he'd spoken to me a total of once before this.

"Do you happen to know what the police are doing about it?" Barry asked.

Andy shook his head.

"Sorry. They haven't said anything. I'm actually a bit disappointed. I thought at least Commissioner Gordon would want to speak about it"

Gordon? I knew that name! Was it...? Oh... Oh no... It was the guy Harvey wanted dead. Did the plan fail? Surely, if Gordon was dead it would be all over the news by now.

I wasn't sure if Gordon's probable survival was a good thing. On one hand, he was a cop, and cops were the ones putting my family in prison. On the other hand, Gordon, as far as I know, was one of the only cops not associated with some sort of gang, so I had to respect the guy. But then again, if he survived it would mean Jason's dad failed, which meant Harvey was going to be after Jason. Again.

I should probably tell someone...

A hand was waved in front of my face.

"Robin?"

Wally looked concerned.

"You spaced out," he said.

"Sorry. I was just thinking"

I then turned to Andy.

"Is the police going to want to speak to me?"

"I suppose so," Andy said, "it wouldn't surprise me if they turn up today"

~~~
Andy had been right. The police did in fact turn up later that day. Wally was still with me, he refused to leave and had actually fallen asleep, leaning his head on me, but Barry had left after an urgent call.
There was a knock and two men, followed by a random nurse, entered the room.
"Excuse me, but the police want to speak with you if it's alright," the nurse said.
"Yeah, it's fine" I replied.
She nodded and left.
I turned my attention to the policemen and was surprised to find Gordon, seemingly in good health, except for his arm being in a sling, and a badly bruised eye. I didn't know who the other guy was.
I nudged Wally awake.
"Mm..wha-" he yawned, "- what? Did I fall asleep?" he mumbled.
"Yeah, about an hour ago. Thought I'd wake you up, seeing as the police are here"
"Oh, that's nice" Wally mumbled, still half asleep. His eyes then widened when his brain registered my sentence.
"The what?"
His face flushed red when he saw the two men standing there, embarrassed he'd been caught sleeping.
"May I take a seat?" Gordon asked, almost managing to hide his amusement for Wally's awkwardness.
"Sure, whatever" I replied.
Gordon sat down in the only chair in the room, leaving the other guy standing.
I'm commissioner Jim Gordon, and that, " he pointed to the other guy, "is George Davidson. We're just here to ask some things, okay?"
I nodded.
"I'm assuming you don't mind your friend being here while we ask some questions," Gordon said.
My silence seemed to be answer enough, as he went straight into questioning me.
"If you don't want to answer a question we can just skip it for now, but we'll start with an easy one. What's your name?"
"Robin Quinzel"
"Okay, good. Now, do you remember what happened to you?"
Dam. Straight to the point, I guess.
"Yes. Everything until I passed out when I was brought in"
Gordon looked somewhat saddened by this. Probably just pity for all the trauma a normal child would have. Of course, I'm not exactly normal, so no trauma here. No sir!
"You were with another boy. Do you know him?" Gordon asked.
"Yeah. Jason Todd. Were friends. They were actually after just him, but I happened to be with him at the time" I replied truthfully.
Gordon hesitated a bit before asking the next question, as if expecting me to not want to answer it.
"Do you know why they wanted him?"
"Jason's dad was working for Two-Face and had betrayed him, so Two-Face used Jason against Jason's dad in an attempt to make him have you killed" I said bluntly.
Gordon stiffened.
"The docks" he breathed.
My curiosity was peaked.
"Something happened?"
" It's not anything you need to worry about," Gordon said, shaking his head.
"Please! What happened?" I insisted. I had to know how he survived.
Gordon sighed.
"I suppose we're releasing information to the public anyway"
"Is that a yes?"
Gordon nodded.
"An anonymous tip lead us to believe there was an illegal transaction at the docks. We arrived and were ambushed. I'm certain we would be dead if not for Catwoman of all people interfering and driving the ambushers away-"
"Catwoman?" I interrupted, extremely confused. Why would Selina help the police? I'd have to ask her next time I saw her.
"Yes, Catwoman" Gordon confirmed.
The other guy then cleared his throat.
"Um, commissioner, we should probably get back on track," he said quietly.
His voice surprised me. First of all, he was British, and second, he sounded like a teenager. I swear, even Wally's voice was deeper. Now that I thought about it, he didn't really look old either. Maybe I'll look him up later.
"Oh, you're right, George. I'm getting off track" Gordon agreed.
"So what else do you want to know?" I offered.
"I spoke to Batman. He informed me that you were already outside when he arrived. How did you escape?" Gordon asked.
And now I had to lie. Great...
Wally was apparently very curious as well, as he was suddenly paying too much attention for my liking.
"Well, um, they took me to another room after a while and locked me in there. My hands were tied, but I eventually got free and basically annoyed the guy quarding outside to open the door and then i kicked kis knee and probably broke something. He fell and must've hit his head and passed out" I paused making it seem like it was hard for me to talk about it when, in reality, I was giving myself more time to perfect the lie.
"I tried to find my way out when I ended up back in the room they held Jason. They had left him alone and he was barely conscious. He'd had a pocket knife on him so I cut him loose and then we managed to get outside before, you know, I got shot"
"Quite an impressive escape, I must say" Gordon commented, "Is there anything we forgot?" he then asked George.
George looked a bit surprised at being addressed and fumbled to get his phone out of his pocket. I assumed he had some notes or something.
"Um, yeah. The men were found dead when the police arrived. Would you happen to know anything about that?"
Oh. That.
"No, I'm pretty sure they were alive when I left" I replied.
"Alright then. I think that'll be all for now. Thank you for your cooperation. We might contact you again when more information is discovered" Gordon said.
Just then George's phone rang, making the man jump a little. He quickly answered it, his face having a mix of worry and amusement as he spoke.
"Don't worry, it'll be less than an hour. Bye, love"
George then apologized.
"That was really unprofessional, I'm sorry"
"No, it's fine" I assured.
"Was it anything important?" Gordon asked.
George shrugged.
"Clay wanted me home. Apparently, Patches messed up his pc mid streaming and he doesn't know what's wrong"
Patches?
"Patches is our cat" Geroge added, having noticed my confusion.
"You better get going then, " Gordon laughed, "We're basically done here anyway"
George thanked Gordon and bid his goodbye before leaving.
"Good day to you two" Gordon said before following George out.
